After much research and selecting Cooper because of many good reviews online, we scheduled an appointment on the Monday before the night of the big freeze for a non-freeze matter (air hammering) and were scheduled for the following Wednesday, receiving a text and e-mail confirming the appointment, but they never showed up and have never called or otherwise attempted to reach us or respond to our calls.  Of course we understand the big demand caused by the freeze (we also had a burst pipe), but there's no excuse for not communicating with scheduled pre-freeze customers (how many could there be?) and completely ignoring their appointments.  We won't call Cooper again.

Old house. Endless possibilities when it comes to plumbing issues so when we needed to call someone, I came to Yelp, read reviews and called H-Town on a Saturday morning. My call was returned within 10 minutes and H-Town (Alex) was at our house 30 minutes later. The 5-star reviews are correct and I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically join other reviewers earned. Honest and efficient, Alex immediately assessed and provided a solution which will get us through until we deal with the larger and much more costlier issue. While the underlying issue requires work beyond Alex's scope, he is assisting us with options that will help keep the cost accessible.

My husband, who's been a commercial woodworker for 30+ years, knows construction/plumbing/electrical-speak so he can smell overcharging a mile away. It takes a lot for us to call for assistance and it takes even more for him to be impressed by a service call. Alex impressed him, especially considering the reasonable price for a Saturday emergency call delivered with top notch service. It's a relief to now have a plumber who we trust and won't hesitate to call at the first sign of sluggish drains or any other plumbing problems.

We made a call this morning and he confirmed availability for this afternoon. He arrived on time and got to work right away. He was able to diagnose and provide a quote in a short time. He was able to resolve the problem in a timely fashion. He also made sure to leave the area clean. Highest recommendation.

This review is sorely overdue.  I called Hicks Plumbing a couple months ago as my toilet tank had broken, and Robert came out for a free estimate. He said he would look around to see what they had in stock for a new toilet tank, and gave me his cell number.  When he called back a day or two later, he told me he had found one -- but somehow, in the process, it had turned into a whole new toilet that had to be replaced, not just the tank part (which ups the price -- and also adds a ton more time & labor cost).  I asked him to see whether he could find a toilet tank, since that was what was needed.  He said he would look again and call me back.  Never did.  Over the course of a week, I called and left messages on his cell (which he had picked up before), but he ignored me completely.  

The needless upsell was extremely shady on his part (given how easy it is to access information on the Internet, I had already done a little research online to see how to address the problem - which is how I knew that for a two-part toilet, you can replace the parts separately).  But the ignoring me was where he truly created a lot of ill will. I actually considered getting a whole new toilet, but knew, no matter what, that I would not be calling Robert to give him the work, given that he didn't even extend me the courtesy of returning a phone call. Poor business practice.

What I don't think Robert at Hicks Plumbing gets is that things in the house will be needing plumbing and repair work generally, and what may be a small job now can build goodwill and trust so that he gets the big job later, as well as referrals and reviews.  In the end, it was good that things with Robert and Hicks Plumbing ended up the way they did, because I put way more effort into looking for a really good plumber, and found one who was absolutely amazing, honest and responsive (and this guy can count on my business and my referrals anytime).

We had a kitchen sink clog. These guys came out quickly.  They were very nice and professional.  We jammed it up good and poured all kinds of crap down the sink trying to loosen the clog. It only made it worse.  He had to take the drain apart.  Was here less than an hour an I was shocked how cheap it was.  Will definitely use again

Our water heater went out and after not having the best communication with another plumbing company. We searched yelp to find and compare. They were very responsive and able to set an appointment quickly. Happy with the installation.

I called because  my sink was draining very slowly.  They came out and snaked my drain.  I thought everything was ok but my sink still drained really slow.  It took me several days to find the phone number again.  They sent the same 2 guys back and these guys told me that I would have to give them $275.  More to snake it again.  They stood around and told me there was nothing else they could do as they DO NOT WARRANTY THEIR WORK.  They did not ask for a service or trip fee.  They were glad to stand there and tell me how people like to scam plumbers by putting grease down the sink and make them come back.  I'm 71 years old and did not appreciate being called a scammer.  They were in no hurry to leave as they seem to enjoy telling me all the things I could have done to my sink.  I had to ask them to leave.  I would think twice before calling a plumber that admittedly does not warranty his work

Had 2 problems, water heater went out and a leak from a 2nd floor bath. David was sent out, he seemed highly competent at his job, and had a professional demeanor and attitude. He was able to replace my water heater and identify the leak (a previous plumber couldn't find). Not only was he able to fix our leak he repaired some shoddy work on our bathtub hardware and sealed up everything better than I had hoped.

Above my expectations,  highly recommend!

Worst plumbing service ever! Was given a window between 12pm and 3pm received a phone call at 4:45pm that the plumber would be on his way in 30-45 minutes, no respect for ones time. Then came out the following day to attempt to refix an outdoor bathroom toilet that is used less than 1/2 a dozen times a year that they serviced in the summer that they charged me $375 to fix and low and behold the toilet is still leaking loads of water from the base of the toilet. They want to charge me $325 to fix it again. It's like they did absolutely nothing the first time they came out because the first problem still exists but they want to charge me more money! NO THANKS!!
