Wow!   Nick's is an amazing company!  Our tech Chris came out to service some errors on our HVAC which included some plumbing /Drain issues.
With in 2 hours he had it's all fixed.  They gave us a great reasonable price and even better service.   I feel like Covid and post Covid all service lrociders have lost the art of customer service but Chris and Nick's plumbing were wonderful.   I'll call them for any HVAC or plumbing need!  Thanks!!!

I called Nick's plumbing as my regular plumber left the country for military service. They were professional and arrived timely.  That's about all the good.

What I was not fond of was no clear pricing was provided to me before the technician showed up. They said I would pay a $79 fee for them to come out which would be waived if I proceeded with work. I was MIND BLOWN when he told me to run the snake down ONE drain was going to cost me $650. I attached my invoice image for reference. I had never ever paid over $200 for a plumber to clear a drain before. Well, I had already taken the day off work and needed the issue fixed before my guests arrived so I agreed to pay it.

$349 to run the snake and $300 just to come up my stairs because I don't have an elevator. I offered to carry the tools for him, but he said that was a liability issue. I just couldn't believe it cost so much to just go up some stairs. Like....I could hire a crew of movers for 2 hours for $300 to carry all my furniture up and down stairs and drive it across town for me, but to carry one piece of equipment up and down 1x costs $300....pretty ridiculous.

I also had a second sink in my bathroom which was backing up and the technician said he could not run the snake down because of my type of pipes. Yet, he did not provide any alternative solution. I had this same drain unclogged by other plumbers in the past without any issue. They didn't use the snake but used other tools (I do not know what they are, because that is why i hire professionals... ) Well, I guess Nick's doesn't know about these other tools. A few months later, when the sink was barely going down, I used some Drano to fix the problem which Nick's could not seem to address and it cost me only $5.

Would I call Nick's again? Maybe in case of an emergency, but I definitely want to look around for a better rate.

Customer service is a 3, communication and expertise a complete zero. Was quoted $600+ for a gas regulator that could be purchased at any home improvement store, but apparently it needed to be specially ordered and they weren't even certain it was the regulator. Called another company, they were able to come out same day, CORRECTLY diagnose the problem, had the part ON HAND, and successfully installed the part. In less than 45 mins and for a third of the price. Oh, and the issue was the gas regulator.

I'd agree with the overall sentiment provided here on Yelp - Nick's is fine; to me, their service is professional but carries a way heftier price tag than what is merited. I recently had the gasket and bolt kit connecting my toilet tank to base replaced since the old one was leaking - total cost was $190. I will say that the plumber was excellent and did a great job of explaining the issue to me and told me that it was a relatively simple fix if I wanted to do it myself for cheaper, so I appreciated that transparency. However, time and willingness to take on a project myself were not on my agenda, so I went with their pricey fix. If I wasn't too lazy to find a different plumber option, I would have done so by now. However Nick's has come through an several plumbing emergencies for me and are located very close by, so they have that going for them.

So as a little update, with all of the back-and-forth, phone calls, and having to have two plumbers come behind this company they had a general manager named John Eccles reach out and attempt I guess to rectify the situation.

At first I was really happy to be hearing from somebody since Jose never called back at all.

This man John was pretty condescending and basically told me I had no ground to stand on when the evidence is obvious that the work I received was not the totality of the work I was needed even though I was told it was, I was quoted 3500 more dollars because they brought the wrong equipment and I did not need $3500 work worth of work I had to have two plumbers come out and bring proper equipment and they had to literally redo all of the work that Nicks did and yet and still John seems to find that this is completely acceptable for their level of customer service.

I would warn against using this company at all because if you're not satisfied you're going to get nothing.

I would also highly use suggest using a credit card because this would absolutely be a transaction that I would be disputing but unfortunately I cut them a check.

TERRIBLE.

I would have used a negative star if one existed on the rating chart.  I called for a plumber to come by two weeks ago to give me an estimate on repairing my shower.  Well, two weeks later, and after making several phone calls to find out if my shower part came in so that the plumber can come back out to make the repairs, I was informed that I would have to call and order the part myself.  This should have been communicated to me from day one rather than two weeks later and after making numerous phone calls to Nick's Plumbing for status updates!  They really dropped the ball on this one!  Very disappointed!

Came out for AC - told me that it was frozen on Saturday and to wait it out with the AC off in the middle of August for Monday.  They said there is a leak probably somewhere and that the capacitor would need to be changed he could somehow see it had been changed in 2018.  The capacitor repair would be 2200 and if there was anything wrong with the unit that would be need to be changed and that would be 6k+.

Now I told him (Edwin) well if the repair is like over 500$ I am going to get a second opinion and if they come out and say it is over 2k I am going to get a 3rd opinion.

I had Efficient Polar Air come out at 9PM on a Saturday they fixed the issue and said when the builder installed my unit they did not vaccuum around the expansion valve and that it would just need to be cleaned and maybe a new expansion valve.  They fixed the issue that night and said that there is a lot of competition among AC companies right now, but what was told to me by Nicks was not matching up with what they are seeing.

If you are calling Nicks Plumbing do not have them look at your AC.  I was scammed out of there call fee of 70$ for them to try to sell me a new AC. CAll Efficient Polar Air and don't waste your time with them.   I wouldn't trust this business at all!!!

I had them come out today and got a bill for more than $550.00 for less than two hours of work. He did a toilet rebuild ( changed out the plunger) used the auger on another toilet ($150.0) and fixed a faucet that they didn't fix last time they were here. Seems like a lot for so little work- I should have become a plumber instead of a surgeon!

I have to say right up front! I love me some Robert with Plumbaway. But he is so crazy busy, I've had trouble getting on his schedule as quickly as I need to. And let's face it...plumbing issues are not something you can just say ok, whenever you can. So I called Nicks. They got to me the next day. Guys, my kitchen faucet was leaking every time I turned it on. Didn't know that of course, til YOU KNOW. Nicks got me on the schedule the very next day. Took Josh, the repairman, all of about 5 mins to figure out what was wrong. Then they put me on the schedule for the very NEXT day to replace the faucet. So then I was busting a move to find a replacement faucet, so Josh could install the new one. Got it. He was here on time (both times) and replaced the old with the new within an hour or so! Definitely impressed!!! Gotta say, EXCELLENT service and response time!

After years of having AC issues and thousands of dollars to replace and fixes that didnt work with another company used by our builder, Nicks finally diagnosed the problem and fixed the real issue in a week.  They were responsive and honest!  They came by twice after all the duct work was completed to insure the system was working properly.  Highly recommended!

Complete scam artists.  Bait and switch and they do not give out any kind of itemized breakdown of work just lumpsum which is laughable.  We canceled as soon as their so called plumber came out to work.. Found another plumber and for what Nicks said was 750.00 we had done for another plumbers minimum charge of 150.00 - it was installation of a back flow preventer.  Easy.  Useless Nicks.....used to be a good company - no more - they are greedy.

Nick's installed a water heater and some faucets.  I was pleased with the work.  Therefore, I contacted them about a leak in my shower faucet.  They told me that a part needed to be ordered and it should take about a week to arrive.  I provided a credit card deposit.  After not hearing from them for a couple of weeks I called.  The person I spoke with claimed that he would contact the technician to find out what was going on.  He never called back so I called again.  I was told that the part would be in later that week.  That was about two weeks ago.  Have heard nothing from them.  I am glad that I used a credit card for the deposit.

I'm a returning customer and their quality and service is very good.
However their prices are ridiculous. They last charged me $350 for fixing a stoppage bathroom sink which took 30 mins to fix and NO parts needed.

* I will shop around in the future.

Nick's was recommended to us by a close friend and we used them to service two properties we own before the summer period. Everything seemed ok at the time although work was recommended at both properties to get them summer ready so we paid for that work.

Only a few days after the unit at one of the properties was serviced, the AC stopped working. Nick's weren't able to get out to see us timely so we asked Premier to come out instead. They were there in a few hours and were able to resolve the issue. They informed us it didn't look like the unit had been serviced in a long time and that when they drained the system the drain water was like mud which our tenants witnessed at the time. Thankfully Premier got us out of a real difficult situation in extremely hot weather.

We subsequently complained to Nick's who stated that the service was properly completed, and that well, Premier would say that to make us look bad. Ultimately we paid Nick's $1,000 for a pre-summer service and were badly let down. They clearly missed the obvious stuff and we were left to pay the price.

Appreciate that units can develop leaks at any time but the fact that the draining of the system resulted in issues just proved to us that they didn't do their job properly and took us for a ride.

Would not recommend them to anyone unless you're looking for a poor service quality. On the plus side the service engineer was very personable.

Refusal of giving rates before job completed. No quote, which is the first red flag.
Over charged, when got comparison quotes after the fact. I should have trusted my gut instinct ad shopped around instead of going with convince.
The job was done and was done well, but I was over charged so embarrassingly high that I just cannot be satisfied with the job done.
I would suggest shopping around and never going with someone who refuses to give you a quote.

Just used Nicks to unclog a bathroom sink. Not an easy p-trap problem but rather the drain line going down from the 2nd floor.  Joe did a great job unclogging (snaking) the line and he put everything back into working order. Highly recommended he loves his job and has many years experience doing it!

I came to a conclusion right or wrong that Yelp and similar sites tend to attract more negative experiences and when looking at Nicks and others here in Houston it was hard to find any company with average at best reviews and a company you would even want to use.  I also noticed the dates that the comments were entered in Yelp tended to be old and sporadic. I guess I am concluding that I heavily lean on Yelp when it comes to dining out but less so for services.  Nicks site as an example was loaded with daily and weekly customer feedback and while not everyone was positive overall I felt much better going with Nicks.

I called and set up a visit to my residence which they gave me a 8-10 am window. It wasn't until 9:53am that I decided to call and check up on when they would arrive. I was told the technician wouldn't arrive until 10:30. I inquired why I wasn't given a phone call to explain that they were running late, the  receptionist stated that she was about to call. I waited until 10:34am still no technician nor a phone call. So I called back and cancelled. I explained if you gave me or another customer a two hour window you can't expect me to cancel plans that I have in the afternoon.

Nick's Plumbing has a 96% customer satisfaction rating  maybe I caught them on a bad day. I would not recommend them based on their lack of professionalism.

Easy to schedule appointment through Yelp. This guy Leo and his crew are great! Upfront pricing and no BS charges. Both me and a handyman for hire tried to unclog my drain without success, but Leo and his crew (sorry I forgot his name) worked through the clog efficiently. Bonus point for the courtesy of wearing mask all the time and cleaning up the work area afterwards. Would recommend company to others with tough plumbing problems.

Contacted this company on 8/16 and spoke with their scheduling department. He informed me they could be here anytime on 8/17. We scheduled for 10:00am. I called their office at 10:15am to ask about my appointment and when a technician will arrive. The lady informed the schedule was made between 10:00am - 12:00pm. This was not discussed when I made my appointment. But, okay ill wait because I need this corrected as soon as possible. At 11:25am I receive a call from their office saying the technician will not be able to make it at 12:00pm it's going to be about an hour and half after that. Not only did I take half a day off of work now I have to find another plumbing company to show up on time and take another day off of work. The lady informed me that no plumbing company is ever on time and I will never find any company to show up on time. Good to know that their own office states they are never on time. I do not recommend this company for any services.

What a waste of our time & money. We have a Rheem gas water heater and the pilot had gone out three times in a month but relite without a problem each time. Nick's Plumbing came up on my search for a plumber that serviced Rheem's and I scheduled for them to come out and give us a diagnosis. The water heater is still under the parts warranty with the manufacturer. First, they canceled my appointment, as they had the wrong phone number associated with the appointment. The guy who did come out didn't even have a screw driver on his person. My husband had taken the screen off of the front of the unit. He noted that the pilot was lite, which was obvious. He did no type of diagnosis, but told us it was the pilot assembly or the thermostat. I called Rheem to let them know and they asked if he'd checked the gas pressure and the vent.  He checked the vent on the roof, visually from at least 10 feet away, but not the gas pressure. I called Nick's Plumbing back to complain the same day (a Saturday) and that I wanted it done properly. Did not receive a call back on Monday so I called again on Tuesday afternoon. Was told a manager would call me, didn't happen. They called this am to say they were sending someone out but there would be an additional charge for the diagnosis and if they did the work they'd take off the prior service charge. I said I'd already paid for a service charge and nothing was done so why was I paying again. I was told I'd been charged for a service call not diagnostics. We still don't know why it goes out, but Nick's will never get any money from our family again.

Everything was great until...the quick fix repair failed 3 days later, leaving me without A/C for 3.5 days. I called on Wednesday morning and was told the earliest that tech could come back would be Friday. So I frustratingly suffered for three days (during the hottest week this year to date), only to call and be told that he was out with COVID-like symptoms and that dispatch had not re-assigned any of his tickets.

It's the beginning of Memorial Day weekend, and while they were apologetic, that doesn't makeup for the fact that I still have 3.5 MORE days without A/C. Hopeful that they will indeed fix it on Tuesday, and make things *right*, but am currently hot and frustrated.

William provided efficient and professional service. Partial replacement of the water line leading to my house. Estimate was provided on the spot and work was completed within the time frame given. Looking at the mixed reviews on here I guess the service quality really depends on each individual plumber.

No call, no show for appointment booked two weeks out.

I received an automated email stating that they were on their way two hours after the appointment window had passed.  You can imagine how frustrating this situation would be (long wait for appointment, followed by a wide appointment window which requires clearing out your schedule, no notification that there was a delay or a potential to miss the appointment, and a lack of personal touch throughout the process).

This level of customer service and communication does not leave a good impression and typically doesn't bode well for future performance.

Disaster is what they are. Came to my house to see what drainage issue was and said it was just a simple clogged kitchen line so I said go ahead and unclog it.. He charged me  a high price and once I told him I had a coupon he said afterwards well I have to charge you for a helper fee. Weeks later I am smelling raw sewage, come to find out they ran a snake straight threw an old pipe and put a hole and it was leaking ever since in the area of the clogged incident. They said the old pipe was rotted out and wanted to charge me a crazy amount to fix a simple 2 drainage line 40'. I would never recommend their high price or trust them to work on my house ever again.

Very disappointed at this company.  I have a rental and wanted a quote when my tenant called and said the garbage disposal was not working.  The plumber assigned to me was Josh .  I told him I want a diagnostic quote and call me before he does anything .   Next thing I know , I received a bill for $160.  $160 to removal a screw is a  next to theft  .  Unbelievable.  STAY AWAY

I am beyond words how impressed I am with Nick's Plumbing. My technicians, Leo and Sergio, arrived on time and even sent a text notifying me they were on their way. The text gave a well-written bio that not only included Leo's professional background and experience but also provided details about Leo's family and his personality. I liked Leo before I even met him.

My home was built in 1957, so my plumbing issue was a bit complicated. It took the outstanding customer service of Nick's Operations Manager, John, who spent almost 30 minutes with me by phone patiently listening and asking technical questions to help him analyze why the work of a previous plumber wasn't able to resolve my issue. It was John's patience and Leo's expertise and determination that finally resolved my more complex plumbing problem. Leo and Sergio were professional and informative. Their work was neat and tidy; they even wore shoe coverings to protect my floors.  I will never call any other plumbing company other than Nick's for future service calls. Absolutely outstanding!

First - The A-Hole that showed up for an estimate did not wear a mask. Secondly - We discuss the job (showing him the the sewage leak in the hole I have already dug) and it is about four hours tops with almost no materials. He tell me about $2800 and then quickly goes to $2200. When I tell him I'm not paying $525 an hour for a job mostly done by digging a hole, he tells me we do the job by the book, not by the hour. I was a controller for 20 years of company operations a thousand times bigger than this clown car company. What a joke. Then he says, Do you know you called a plumbing COMPANY? Yes, your company's name is Nick's Plumbing and Sewer Service. I would have gladly paid them $800 for a job that cost them maybe $400, how they got so many likes is a joke. Run away from these people...

I wish I could give them no stars ! I recently had new granite installed and needed my sinks hooked up and a garbage disposal. These jokers wanted $475 per sink .... only the sink ??? And $175 for an existing garbage disposal not a new one one I had ! This was insane and definitely a statement of I don't want your business .... never again will I call these clowns ! Another plumber connected the sinks and the garbage disposal in about 10 min and charged me $150 for the entire job !

Called Nick's to come fix a busted water pipe that was leaking... they came out and looked at it and said they would come back later.  Then, they pretty  much ghosted and gave me the run around. If they couldn't handle the job, they should have told me.  It took me another day to finally get another plumber to come out and fix the problem.  Avoid!  Customer Experience was awful.

We hire them 2 days before Thanksgiving upon another plumbing company's recommendation.  Gilbert was our technician and he seems to be knowledgeable and knows what he's doing. He did a diagnostic test after calling Rinnai. We got hot water for 12hrs during the Thanksgiving week. One because they were waiting for the parts they ordered from Rinnai. I understand it was the holiday but they ordered the parts the following Monday and was supposed to be delivered that same week. Well, to make a long story short, Gilbert called and informed me that the parts weren't shipped by the supplier until the day he called me...not their fault. It's the supplier's. He provided us the FedEx tracking number. According to Nick's Plumbing, they will call us when parts arrive. Friday came, 10 days after the last time we had the hot water and no call from this company. I called them Friday, because FedEx tracking showed it's been delivered and we thought we could just get somebody else to install the parts.  Well, we're wrong. I didn't know they have to install them since they're the one who ordered the parts...we're basically stuck with this company. The Manager I spoke to was supposed to call me when they arrived.  The  next morning (Saturday). I called them to let them know that those parts arrived at their warehouse on Friday at 10am and no one bothered to call us. I had to call them to check. They had the nerve to deny that there's no one in their office named J Solo ( forgot the last name) but I'm pretty sure it was the same person I was talking to. I had to raise my voice to point out to them that it's been cold the past few days and we didn't have hot water at all. They understood they said, if you did, you would have called us the moment those parts arrived.
Gilbert came that Saturday and installed the parts. It worked but fast forward to 3 weeks, our hot water would stop 5 minutes into our shower or in the Middle of showers and we're stuck with cold water for at least 8 minutes. I sent them an email before Christmas from their website to see if they can check on the issue since their fine line notes on the receipt states that they guarantee work for at least 60 days. It's now January 6th and no call or no response to that email! For that, I Would not recommend doing business with this company or hiring them for your plumbing needs.

This is the 2nd time we used Nick's Plumbing. First when there was a leak in the bathroom faucet. They came right away and fixed the problem. This 2nd time toilet was not flushing. Called them on Sunday and answering service scheduled us. Eduardo came Monday looked at the problem and provided an estimate. It was not until the next day that my mother decided to get a new toilet. Called Nick's Plumbing and was scheduled. Though there were confusion with their scheduling and had to wait an hour of the time range that they gave us- we were satisfied with their work. Thank you Eduardo and Armando for doing a great job.

They both came in- worked on the issue and new toilet was installed. They were gentleman, have mask, sanitizers, shoe cover and gloves. They both professional and knowledgeable. They were courteous and answered our questions professionally.  Eduardo was honest and charged us with the price they quoted.

Thank you Eduardo and Armando for an excellent work and excellent customer service. Thank you Nick's Plumbing- Felicia, Jose for being courteous on the phone and informing us of the ETA. I will definitely recommend Nick's plumbing to my family, friends and neighbors.

This company is very dishonest and rude if you want someone to do a half ass job and take your money then go ahead and use them!
They came out to fix a clogged sewer drain the tech stated everything was fixed am running smoothly yet then we did a load of wash and the sewer came back up through the master shower and bathtub we called them to tell them the problem they came out and said the tech before never checked in and so we had to pay them $500 dollars to pump out the sewer to find out the pipe was broke so we called to talk with the owner to see why things were not fixed or addressed in the first place and he said I don't know and that he would talk to the tech well he sent another tech out to asses the situation and he stated the tech lied because the pipe had been broken before we moved into the home and they should have caught it when we sent them over the inspection report well now the owner want contact us back won't give us the video feed they took and are not helping us but they want us to pay them $5000 to fix it!

We had a problem with a leaky faucet and Nick's Plumbing came out very quickly.  The two men were careful and neat.  Shoes were left at the door.   I was pleased that they did not have a service call cost that some companies use.  Meaning that you pay even if they can do nothing.

They helped us very quickly and we now know that we will never use any other plumber.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
I called Nick's Plumbing at 7:45 am and they were open and answering the phones. The gentlemen understood my issue (broken garbage disposal) and suggested ways to self correct which did not work, but it was great that he tried to help me. He could not get me in the same day, but scheduled me for the next morning. Within 15 minutes, he called back saying he could fit me in. By 8:30, Joe was here and by 10:00, I had a brand new garbage disposal installed (mine was cracked). Joe offered advice about which unit I should get, had it on his truck, and installed it with quality and precision. He was kind and personable and clearly in alignment with the company's keen focus on customer service. I wish all service providers were as professional and fair as Nick's Plumbing!

I'd give them a zero if I could.  We had them install a water shut off valve for our house several years ago only to discover today that they didn't insulate the pipes to the valve.  We finally needed the shut off today because our water pipes had frozen with the storm and guess what?  The valve was frozen, along with the uninsulated pipes.  Would have been a $3 add on for them.  Instead, we're likely facing days without water while we hope nothing bursts.  Thanks Nick's.

The service tech who came over was nice but they are really taking advantage of their customers being in a bind due the freeze two months ago. $350+ for some very simple work that we've been charged about $150 for in the past. Not cool.

I have used these guys several times at work and every time they have been reliable, efficient and fair. They will tell you what is wrong and offer options. There are no pressure tactics or above and beyond issues pushed.

Our most recent issue confirmed that this is an honest company. There was a blockage in the line and our renters called their guy. That company gave us an estimate that was ridiculous and included digging up yards of concrete to clear it.

We called Nick's and they were able to clear the blockage. They even went so far as to figure out why it blocked and offer solutions for down the road and their option was less invasive then the other guy.

This company has earned my continued business and loyalty.

I called Nick's Plumbing as I had a gas leak and the pipe needed to be replaced.  I was closing on my house in a few days so I was panicked.  The customer service started out very positive - they sent someone immediately.  Once the plumber and his assistant arrived, I felt like he instantly used the scare tactic. He knew my anxiety level was already high - he painted the worst possible experience ever.  As a woman, I took great offense as he made me feel like I was uninformed.  He wasn't rude but I would bet my next paycheck if a man was there, his tactics would have been VERY different.  After taking pictures and having me sign documents that he failed to explain to me, even though I asked what I was signing,  I received an outrageous quote of almost $5,000 (including a $269.00 trip fee).  That night, I called another licensed plumber (also with a big name) and they met me first thing in the morning.  Not only did he take the time to really explain things, he did not make me feel that my hot water heater was going to have to be replaced, my entire yard was going to have to be dug up or that I was going to have to spend a small fortune to have this fixed.  I ended up paying $1,500.  What was the biggest turn off and absolutely made me realize I will never do business with Nick's was how the plumber treated his assistant. His assistant could tell I was getting flustered and upset and tried to say something - the main plumber literally motioned to him like shhh, don't say anything.  I would think twice about using Nicks - call around for other quotes before paying the astronomical trip fee.  What a waste of money!

AWESOME service after 2021 winter storm in Houston.  Repairman named Eric came and found and repaired our busted pipes.  Had to cut a hole in ceiling over bathtub and bathtub was overflowing with insulation and sheetrock as he worked.  I was so shocked and surprised when I went in later to see the bathtub clean enough to draw a bath in- literally not a trace of the mess.  He was polite, meticulous and, most importantly, efficient and good at his job.  I could not possibly be more pleased with Nick's and I will recommend them to others and use them going forward

We've used Nick's Plumbing several times and I can't say enough good things about them.  Our most recent experience really exemplifies the great service we received.  Our water heater went out on a Thursday night and I called Nick's at 8:00 a.m. the next day; they had one of their plumbers, Luis, at the house by 9:00 to diagnose the problem.  Luis quickly figured it out, ordered the part, and was back at our house Monday morning at 8:30 to install it.  We'd steeled ourselves for a week or so without hot water but, thanks to Nick's Plumbing, the issue was fixed over the weekend.

I called this company to come out and provide a quote to change 2 - 1/4 brass water valves on my sprinkler system. I called them because they are listed in the Houston 2020 Best Picks Report. When I let them into the yard one of them had his mask hanging on his chin. When he looked at the work and noticed that the 2 valves were positioned on each side of the backflow valve. He said that it would be best to just change that valve out as well. I told him that nothing was wrong with that valve. He responded by saying that it would be just as much work, if not more to change the backflow valve along with the other 2 valve. I asked him why would I pay for another backflow valve without nothing is wrong with this one? So I allowed him to provide a quote with the change and without. The quote changing all 3 valves was $600+, and just changing the 2 brass valves was $500+. I told him that I could purchase the backflow valve for $60-$100, and the brass valves for $30. He said that he knew that. I asked what was his labor cost, he did not know. I escorted them out.
I really feel sorry for people they service who aren't aware when they are being overcharged.
That start rating is only a 1 because they did not charge me for coming out.

The worst service and customer service experience by far. They sent inexperienced plumbers (3 were sent to the house) to install 1 faucet and couldn't identify the problem---installed the faucet incorrectly walked out and demanded their payment.

Then told me the entire sink  needed to be replaced... what?! They offered me a discounted price to fix their mistake?! No thanks, wouldn't recommend their services to anyone!

Plumber took advantage of situation and overcharged for services. $225 for a 15 minute job of snaking a simple sink is just shameful. Shame on you and your business practices. I've dealt with other major plumbing companies and this would have been a trip charge of $80. Price gauging you the max.

I've used Nick's Plumbing twice this year, and continue to be impressed with their service. Days before going out of town for a few weeks, I had a plumbing need. They were able to schedule me in the next morning to ensure that the mess was fixed before my vacation.

Before the technician arrived, they emailed, called, and texted me. In fact, in the text, they sent a picture of the technician with his name, background, and photo. I really appreciated the photo for security purposes. The technician arrived right on time, and was in and out within 10 minutes. The price seemed reasonable, too. Thanks, Nick's!

Absolutely horrible experience! Terrible customer service at all levels. 3 separate plumbers in one appointment could not diagnose the issue. There was no communication between them and when my wife explained what was already done, she was treated as if she was a stupid woman. Contacted the CEO, who was just as rude and demeaning as his team. Their uninformed solution would have been a $4K+ repair to a 5-year-old home. Called another company who diagnosed the problem. Missing grout was causing the leaking!!!! Clearly Nicks was more focused on money than actually trying to solve a problem for a customer. Stay away!

I am impressed with Nick's plumbing. I called yesterday with a weird problem, I didn't know the cause but suspected it was a plumbing issue. I called Nick's and spoke with John who got me set up with an appointment first thing this morning.

Before Luis arrived (exactly in the estimated arrival time), I got a short text letting me know he was on his way and had worked for the company since 2011 and it had a picture of him. Luis made the scene and it started to look like a wild goose chase with punching holes in walls everywhere in the hopes of finding an issue. Ug. We put our heads together and decided on tackling our best guess first. Luis got to work. He found the issue straight away - previous idiot contractor didn't install a trap or configure the pipes to code.

Luis diagnosed, discovered and fixed both issues in under two hours. The price was reasonable and he was efficient, he cleaned up after himself and was very respectful. My silly labs even behaved better for him than they do for me.

I am 100% satisfied and will definitely call Nick's again when I am in need.

Overpriced disposal install. I'm an out of city homeowner with rental tenants in Houston. They installed a $109 disposal for $459, from my calculations I paid $350 for an hour of work. If I wasn't out of town and in a bind to get it done I'd have bought one myself and paid someone with better prices to install it. I know I have choices but this needed to get done today and I paid the price. The service and professionalism was good but I can't get past the price gouge on such an easy fix.

9/16/2019 - We had a $2,488.62 invoice to repair 3 commercial toilets at our facility.  March 2020 we had a tech come out for warranty evaluation on 2 toilets that were leaking.  Was quoted $900.00 to repair as the job was out of warranty.  I declined the repair, went to Home Depot, bought a $24/Sloan repair kit and fixed one toilet in less than 5 minutes.  I tightened a loose connection on the other toilet and in less than 10 minutes of work and a 1/2 hour at Home Depot we fixed the problems that should have been fixed in September 2019.  I would be very skeptical about working with Nick's based on this experience.  On the bright side, the techs were cordial and nice but I fail to see why they wouldn't have done the right thing and fixed the problem for a substantially lower amount as an olive branch to a customer that spent almost $2,500 only a few months earlier.  Definitely not the service I would expect.

I was initially extremely impressed with the service and professionalism of the agent I chatted with to schedule my appointment. One thing that stood out to me is when he said, Thank you for the opportunity to earn your business.  From there, I received two emails confirming my appointment window.
On the day of the appointment, I was at the service address 15 min before the 2 hour window started. 30 min after the window expired, I still hadn't heard ANYTHING! So, I contacted the office and they couldn't tell me anything! Not why they hadn't contacted me, where the tech was nor how much longer it would be. Just that I was next on the list and it could be up to another hour. So, if I hadn't been in desperate need, I would have cancelled then. And now I know I should have! An hour and a half later, I received a call and a text that the tech would be there in 20 min. 45 min later, a teenager showed up claiming to be the tech. When all I asked him to do was check the gas line in the fireplace- he was confused. He said I had to replace the valve but couldn't tell me how much that would be. Then he said it didn't need to be replaced but I had to pay for the part to get the key and it was expensive- $35 or $50. Then when he opened the fireplace, he said he didn't know what to do. At that point I asked him to just leave. I have not heard back from anyone at the office asking me what happened, apologizing for poor customer service nor offering to send a more experienced tech out to do the job I booked the appointment for! Never ever call Nick's unless you want more than half of your day wasted and a job still not done.

Unreliable services. I phoned Nick's and was told someone would get back with me same day. Hours later I received a phone call stating all plumbers were out on jobs. Lucky for us I didn't have an emergency, so they said someone would go out the following day at 1pm. The following day same excuse after I rearranged my day waiting for them. I then asked Nick's what is the best time for them. The lady dispatcher stated Monday first thing. It's now Monday at noon and no plumber, or phone call.  This is obviously not a good business practice.  Nick's Plumbing and Sewer Services could have gained a new loyal customer, but after this experience I must tell anyone reading my experience not to use their services unless you like waiting, or wondering if they are arriving.
A plumber finally made it out to my residence 7 hours LATER. He did apologize, and asked to give them a second chance after we informed him we had to find another plumber.

First off, they told me they would be here at 6. At 4:30 they called and said they were here and mad that I would be home for an hour.

Second, they quoted me $1600 for a water heater I found at the big box store for $450.

I doubt any of their quotes and won't call on them again

We are super bummed about the service with Nicks Plumbing. Everything started out great, we were recommended by a well known inspection company that my mother in law works for. He came the day he said he would come, at the actual time he said they would come (little things, right)? Prior to coming he told us the items we would need including the garbage disposal and kitchen sink hardware, so we were able to get that up front for him to install.

They installed a new kitchen sink for us, checked the house, and we uncovered a TON of work that the house needed (we are new homeowners). Nick and his trainee were going to take care of everything. I felt great with what they did when they came and great when they left with the work that was accomplished.

A month passes with no follow up, whatever we get it Nick is busy. We connect with him, no response. We try again a week later and he doesn't remember us as a customer because he is working long hours (ALL GOOD, we understand how busy people can be). We sent him the receipt for the work and he remembered us and the parts he ordered for us. He told us he will come on Friday (this is Tuesday), he told us he will put us down so no one else can schedule on that day and will call us on Thursday so we are on the same page of what will be completed. Cool!!! Nick is finally coming!!! Our plumbing issues will be resolved!!!

Thursday, no call to go over what was going to be completed. Friday, I scheduled off work. I call him at 10am asking when he would be here since we did not connect the day before. And he said in the afternoon. SAME day communication that he will be here. He literally no showed.

On September 6th we sent this (over a week later from being stood up):
Hey nick- we understand you are busy, but disappointed that we were blown off on Friday and still waiting to hear from you. you committed to coming to us and even after talking on the phone that day you didn't communicate you weren't coming. I took off work. We are half way in with you so we want to get this completed. When can you & your team commit to completing our work?

No response.

A couple days ago I sent this:
Please do us the professional courtesy to get back to us. We've already spent money with you, can you commit to coming to finish our job?

No response. We were completely ghosted by our plumber half way through the job. We have no idea why. We had a laundry list of 15+ items ($$ goldmine for nicks plumbing).

We loved the original service, we gave him the benefit of the doubt when he forgot about us and who we were, he told me on the same day he'd be there soon, and no showed. Haven't heard from him since. We're incredibly disappointed with the lack of follow up and complete disregard for us as a customer. Please learn to communicate, it doesn't matter how busy you are.

The service man was very professional and showed up n time. The job was performed well and super fast.
I am very unhappy with the standard charge they had for their services as it was HiGHLY overpriced! Unclogging the drain ( running the snake into the drain) took 10 minutes at $220 ! Replacing two leaking cartridges was $150. Which is a reasonable price considering that the cartridges themselves were about $80, but we were told that the cheaper $150 charge was due to it being an additional portion of the service call....in other words if that was the only part of the job it would have been more!!!

Conclusion: if money is not the issue, use them.

I had used Nick's Plumbing previously and was happy with the service.  This time was completely different.   I called to have a prefabricated sink unit installed for my patio.  All hookups are existing.  The only thing needed was to connect the water and drain from the prefab unit to the wall.  My appointment was set for Friday.  I take the time off of work to be here.  They call and reschedule me to Saturday.  The technician comes late. Then tells me that he does not have equipment or material to work on the water line and that plumbing supply stores aren't open till Monday.  So he can come back Monday.  He also tells me that it will be $685 to install the unit but he could give me a $200 discount for my troubles.  I let him know that installing and outdoor sink is much less, per Nick's Plumbing website.  Once he left I called the office and let them know the situation.  They call the technician then come back and tell me that he can do it for $400.  I say, No Thank You! and plan to never call them again.  I'm not sure what happened with their service but I'll just call another company.

Nick's has been doing our plumbing work and upgrades for a while, with David Geurra providing excellence service for the initial work (which was a lot last year) and the preventive maintenance work completed today. He completed the servicing of our tankless hot water heater efficiently and gave some sound advice for some additional items we are considering to further improve the system. I definitely recommend Nick's Plumbing (and David in particular) for work - they get the hard stuff done and support their work.

I'm PISSED   that I WASTED AN ENTIRE DAY WAITING FOR THESE PEOPLE. I scheduled an appointment on Tuesday for Thursday between 12P-2P. It is 4P and still no technician. I've sat waiting for 5 hours and no call from Nicks. I called twice for an update; at 2:20P and 4P. Each time being told somebody  is coming soon. I'm so not impressed and definitely turned off. They have no sense of time nor urgency with customers schedules.  Try another company; if they can't even get an appointment correct, I can only imagine what the service is actually like.

*****UPDATE: The technician arrived at 4:30P. He couldn't change the toilet because he needed help. WTF? I was told the work would be done the same day. I need to change a one piece toilet on the second floor. Does that really require multiple people for an estimate. I'm DONE with these people.

They were about to call the company that made the heater to ask them for instructions?? really? they said if they opened the water heater and call the company they would charge a starting price of $465 to do the job. For that price i would buy a new one!
Do not call them, they have no idea how to deal with tank-less water heater.

In the past two months, I have had plumbing issues.  Nick's Plumbing was found in a publication of businesses in our area.  They sent Kevin on the initial visit, he came and fixed the bathroom sink drainage problem and made some recommendations on how to avoid the same issue in the future.

The second visit Luis was sent.  He was unable to get to our house between the timeframe that was agreed upon, so $25 credit was issued for that.  He returned a few days later to complete the job due to a part that had to be located.  Both visits the gentlemen were professional and even had shoes to put on in order not to mess the house.

Excited that they were in our area and able to help on both occasions with efficiency.

Leo and his trainee Devone fixed our problem in 30 minutes at a reasonable price. We had a very bad deep clog in our kitchen sink. He explained exactly what they were doing and showed pictures and solved the issue. He even gave us two options to choose from with two costs. We've had Nicks Plumbing our to our previous home for repairs and always had a good experience. We are in the process of moving and had Nicks out to get estimates for needed repairs prior to closing. They were able to come out the next day, gave us 3 estimates for the various repairs, explained what was recommended and why, and answered all our questions. I like to do business with folks in my neighborhood, even if it costs a little more or takes a little longer.  Fortunately, I don't have to compromise on either point when using Nick's Plumbing.  Nick's is always quick to respond, usually offering same-day service.  Their technicians are very nice, respectful and courteous- as well as knowledgeable.  They are also very fair on pricing.  What else could you ask for in a plumber - or any other service company, for that matter?  Great to deal with. We called this company last week to schedule an install of a home water softener and filter. The gentleman who made my appointment told me a ballpark price of $725 after I explained to him what kind of system and where it would be connected. On Friday, they cancelled my appointment because they fell behind on their appointments. I rescheduled for the following Monday. On Monday, the technician came to our home and was there for less than a minute before he told us that the price had doubled to $1500. We were shocked. This water system come with a do-it-yourself Install kit and tutorial video. It is made so that the average homeowner can easily install it so imagine our shock to find that this plumber thought the job was worth $1500. This was actually the second plumber who had given us an install quote. The first plumber's quote was also $700 so I know this company was clearly trying to scam me. I called to speak to a supervisor who told me he would call the technician and figure out why the quote had changed so much and then call me back to discuss. I waited almost 2 hours for that call back and never received one. Do yourself a favor and find a more honest company to do your plumbing work.

Nick's was fine for uninstalling a disposal, but I will NEVER use them again to help with a toilet.
I had Nick's Plumbing out to 3 times to fix my guest bathrooms toilet. The 1st  time, it was semi-fixed. It would flush after priming the pump several times instead of 6 times.
The 2nd time, I had them out, they replaced the flapper and told me I had water presser issues. Again, after the flapper was replaced, there continued to be a leak into the bowl from the tank.
Called them a 3rd time. They came out at no charge and changed the flapper for one that was so flaccid that it pulled off after 3 flushes.
I had given the plumber the choice to use a brand new flapper (I supplied) on the 3rd try. He declined because he couldn't figure out how to attach it; it had no ring. So I pulled the flaccid flapper out, figured out how to attach the new flapper MYSELF, and replaced it.
    The toilet's working now--no thanks to Nick's.

Literally A + customer service!  I was blown away by the level of service. Everything from start to finish was flawless. I called Nick's Plumbing after receiving an initial bid to replace my drainage and sewage pipes from a competitor assigned by my homeowners's insurance plan. They (Ron) came out, assessed, offered an initial bid. MATCHED the first bid, and once the work began it was as if they were taking care of their own house. While there was a lot of work it was organized and clean communication to me as the homeowner was top notch and I knew what was going on during each phase of the project. Once the job was completed and after it was known that some of my grass would be destroyed on the lawn the grass was replaced and the team came back after the job was completed and after I had left town to ensure that the new grass was watered. I would recommend this team to anyone!

We first learned about Nick's Plumbing when they were recommended to us by neighbors.  We've been very pleased with their responsiveness, professionalism and service for years. Their technicians take pride in their work and it's evident that they truly put the interests of their clients first. Kudo's to Technicians Leo Guzman and Jorge  - both are great! Nick's Plumbing  honors their warranties as well. I highly recommend Nick's Plumbing for these reasons......... plus, they're a family-owned company based here in Houston as well.

I called Nick's Plumbing because my tankless hot water heater was making a loud noise (although otherwise working fine). Ron from Nick's Plumbing told me that it needed to be replaced, that in so many words it was a ticking time bomb. He also told me that the manufacturer had gone out of business 5-6 years ago, and that was why it needed to be replaced and couldn't be serviced (no replacement parts would be available). He told me that it would cost $4500. Not feeling right about the situation, I got a second opinion from iPlumb, whose plumber told me he spoke to the manufacturer (not out of business) and that it just needed to be serviced. Recommend iPlumb. Highly discourage using Nick's Plumbing. There is no question in my mind that their plumber flat out lied.

Eugene Omana was cheerful and made short work of repairing a sloppy installation of a high-quality garbage disposal by Texas Master Plumbers. I was impressed with not only his professional knowledge of his craft, but how quickly he was able to repair the inexcusable sloppiness of the so-called plumber who had installed a brand-new garbage disposal last March. I plan to put a negative review on their website highlighting  the amateurish work they did, so that consumers can be warned what a rip-off they are. The details are: Master Plumbers failed to (a) insure the sink flange was properly sealed, or to make sure (b) the fiber gasket was properly seated and sealed which cause extensive slippage and fomented a slow, perpetual water leak The image speaks volumes; There was also extensive water damage to the paint on the floor of the cupboard. Thus far, TMP's incompetence has cost in excess of $400.00 in repairs, If you want a job done wrong, call Texas Master Plumbers; if you want it done right, call Nick's Plumbing.

Came home from work and my hot water heater was leaking everywhere. I called Nicks Plumbing because I found them online. A plumber showed up before my appliances were underwater. As it turns out my old heater had simply rusted out and that's why it was leaking. The plumber replaced my old heater with a new one. He was in and out of my home quick, he worked efficiently, and I have no complaints as I am happy thus far with the work that has been done.

Outstanding Again!!!! The anxiety of picking a plumber can be a bit much especially during an emergency crisis. I recommend you save Nicks Plumbing phone number on your phone favorite list.  Get to know this company as they are awesome.  The professionalism, knowledge base and empathetic business practices are all outstanding.  Richard Saad, the owner and his staff's prompt attention to my home prior to Hurricane Harvey saved my house from flooding.  Again, jyst yesterday Dec29 they dispatched a plumber to my house and my neighbors to help us with plumbing issues.  Attentive, proactive in diagnosing the problems and quick to solutions....I can't thank them enough or recommend Nicks Plumbing enough.
Two of my neighbors have already used Nicks Plumbing at my referral and both highly satisfied. Save Nicks Plumbing on your phone now.

We had a small water leak from our second floor bathroom down into a 1st floor bedroom that occurred after unclogging a toilet. We had seen Nick's Plumbing trucks around the neighborhood for years, but had not had a need for a plumber previously. We called Nick's Plumbing at 3 PM on a Friday, Leo and Sergio came out the same day to take a look. They inspected the bathroom plumbing and asked if they could come back on Monday morning once the damaged 1st floor ceiling was removed. When they came back they again inspected all the plumbing from underneath, ran a camera down the line to confirm there was nothing clogging the pipes, and were satisfied that the source of the leak was not directly related to the plumbing and left with no charge because they didn't do anything. Leo and Sergio's professionalism and thoroughness were evident in their complete evaluation of our problem and proves that Nick's Plumbing was the right choice for us to call. Should a plumbing issue arise in the future for we will not hesitate to contact them again.

Update: water heater working just fine 3 weeks later. All that was needed was to re-light water heater. Either Nicks plumbing intentionally tried to charge us for unnecessary work to make more money off us or they weren't knowledgeable enough to figure out the simple fix. Not sure which is worst.

Zach came out to fix a clogged shower drain. He snaked the upstairs drain and had us up and running again quickly. The cost was higher than I had hoped/expected, but I can't really say that it was out of line since we've not had this problem before. We won't hesitate to call Nick's again should we need a plumber.

We just had the WORST experience ever with this company. They sold us a Kohler toilet and installed it some time ago. It isn't working. We arranged yesterday for a plumber to come out and service it. He got here and said it wasn't working and for $289 he could replace the still practically new inner workings and for $114 he could auger it but he wasn't sure why was wrong with it!

In addition, he told me he didn't like Kohler toilets and we spent too much money on it!

Next, I had him look at our dripping shower head, the other primary reason we called him out.  He said he didn't have a valve and didn't think he could get one this late.  They are the ones who scheduled this visit for 4-7 on a Saturday night!

All of this after his wife called and asked him to come home and bring her a Subway sandwich! Seems pretty clear what was really going on.  This is our second consecutive bad experience with Nick's.

Terrible terrible terrible.  Zero stars.  Only put one star because you have to put a star to do a review.

*****UPDATE****

We got ahold of a good plumber and he fixed the toilet for a $2 part and a home visit.  Instead of a valve, which would have required ripping out our wall, he also fixed the shower for a $55 part.  Total visit with $20 tip and service charge: $168.  This contrast should tell you how terrible Nick's was for us during their second chance. Beware!

*******SECOND UPDATE*******

I got a call from a woman at Nick's who told me they had been undergoing a lot of turnover but now have it under control.  She was really nice and apologetic and sent me a gift card to a business I like and frequent. It was a good call and I appreciated it.  I'm still not sure I'd be comfortable using them but it was a really really nice gesture and it deserves mention.  I'll probably follow their reviews for a while and may try them again if things improve, especially if she is still there in, say, six months.  Adding a star for follow up.

Review note: We did not have repairs preformed by Nicks, only inspections.

However, I do want to inform/warn others that they do not work well with other companies and were very inconsistent when we dealt with them when selling our house.

Long story short, the buyer used Nicks to inspect our home and they found a leak below our pier and beam home.  When we were notified of this we had another company come out the next day to fix the issue.  We did not use Nicks because we have used them to quote repairs in the past and they always came up significantly higher than other local companies.  Sure enough, we got the leak fixed for a third the cost of Nicks quote.  The invoice was sent to the buyer to show them the work had been complete.  I am not sure if Nicks was mad that we got it done cheaper or if they were just ignorant, but they told the buyers this:

Replaced fitting with new fernco flexible coupling.  Richard stated that fernco is an illegal substance and should only be used in the dirt outside of the house.  Richard also stated that sewage would be present underneath the house since the pipe was damaged and that water was leaking.  There was sewage present during inspection and during the estimate administered by Luis from Nick's Plumbing.

The illegal claim by Nicks was reckless as they had not seen the work first hand.  If they had, they would know that it was used in the dirt out side the house.  After consulting multiple plumbers around town, they concluded that the work we had done was standard and not in any way illegal.

In regards to the sewage, we were told by 2 different companies that the leaking line was clean water and there was no sewage present.  When we asked Nicks to come out and give us further information regarding the sewage, we were told by their staff there was no sewage.  Nicks giving two different stories was very frustrating for the parties involved in the home sale.

Nicks caused a complete mess and led to unnecessary complications in the buying/selling process.  I strongly recommend people stay away from Nicks for home inspections.

If money is not an issue and you are doing repairs on your own home, than I do not have anything against Nicks.

Our kitchen sink disposal went out, which caused our sink to back up with water that ultimately started coming up through the dishwasher as well. Standing water started to form, and flies started flocking - needless to say, our kitchen was gross.

Charles from Nick's Plumbing came out and was able to diagnose the problem, snake the drain, and replace the disposal, all in under an hour - and even after I locked us out of the house (oops!) Throughout, he was friendly, courteous, and professional.

I can't tell you the number of repairs we've had done lately that have needed to be done twice, or required multiple appointments in order to complete. It was so refreshing to have a technician come out who could do everything at once, quickly. That should be a business standard, but it isn't.

We will definitely use Nick's Plumbing - and ask for Charles - should we have additional plumbing needs.

My hot water heater went kaput last week, and I'd originally scheduled Home Depot to deliver and install a new unit through one of their local contractors.  Spent the entire weekend taking cold showers, and the plumbers showed up today, looked at my garage, and said they'd need a further $2000 to modify and update the setup.  We politely declined and called Nick's.
They were at the door in 15 minutes, and two hours later we had hot water again.  They charge a fair price for their service and installation, and, best of all, they are HONEST.  The plumbers are well-informed on city codes and very knowledgeable.
I used them once before for a blockage, and have never had them try to upsell or use any shady sales tactics.

What an experience these guys really are honest. I was told by two companies after they looked at the camera that I had a broken pipe under my house and tree roots and that I need to replace the pipe. One company said 14,000 dollars and another said 11,200 well after Nicks Pluming looked at it they said all is fine and the other companies  were trying to get my money and said even if it was truly broken it was only about 6,000 but you are fine. Also I would like to give a shout out to Eugene and Leo they were the two technicians that came out and ran the camera. These two should be commended for there honesty and there values. Also thank you Nicks Pluming and you will have a customer for life.

Plumber, Leonard, just came out... did a quick inspection and found the source of why my kitchen sink was draining slowly - a sandwich ziplock lodged under the lip of the disposal.

Also, helped me locate the A/C pipe in the attic that needs bleach in order to clear the algae buildup that three other plumbers from Rescue Rooter failed to tell me about.

Very professional, warm, honest.

well, nicks came out and fixed a clog but caused two other problems. had them out again, said i needed a part and they were researching it and would get back to me with an estimate. all this for $377. another company's  plumber came out, tightened things up that nicks guy had loosened and discovered a ac line was causing one of the issues, not the need for an additional part......for $99

avoid these guys. there are way better plumbers out there and they actually fix your problems and not try to make more problems they can charge you for

So I called nicks because they were referred to me by a friend, and made an appointment. The guy who came, Louis, was very knowledgeable. But he stated he couldn't do anything because I had two adjoining bathrooms and I would need a contractor to make a hole in my wall before he could assess the problem. He told me to text/email him the picture and he might be able to assess it from that. I hired a contractor the very next day. After making the hole we sent Louis the pictures but knowing that it was the weekend I kinda thought he wouldn't reply until Monday. Called the company Monday asking for him and the person who picked up said they would let him know we called. After a day of no response I called them again stating that I haven't heard from him. They said they would let him know and he would be calling me back. I know they have my number because every time I call, they ask for your number! Had to call another plumber to fix my leak. I guess a blessing in disguise.

When calling for an appointment the people on the phone were nice and professional. I will give them that.

Called these guys when our kitchen sink was backing up and our usual guy couldn't make it out for 5 days. Quick response, nice enough young guy, took a look, snaked the pipe a bit, said it was getting stuck and pulling back dirt so we must have a broken pipe under the house. Provided a quick estimate for the repair with 2 options, even walked me through where my sewer lines were buried, searched for cleanouts, etc. This was all reasonable and fine, though our sinks still weren't draining and the $6,000-$7,000 quoted for the fix was unpleasant to contemplate.

However, we had our usual guy come out when he was available 3 days later, he snaked the pipe again, and not only was he able to clear the pipe with a modicum of effort (there was some narrowing, nothing impassible), but he demonstrated to me that what was being pulled back was clearly not the clay-like stuff that you would find with a broken pipe but black grease i.e. decomposed food waste from the kitchen sink. Any plumber worth his salt should know the difference, or so I'm told.

All in all, if you need a quick response for a simple job and don't mind paying a premium, these may be the plumbers for you. Can't recommend them for much else, though.

Very professional and received exceptional service. We live in the Houston Heights and we called Nick's Plumbing when we discovered a leak coming through the kitchen ceiling. We live in a 1960's home so it was important to us to call a professional who carried the insurance coverage to do the work as well as pick an experienced plumber. Nick's were prompt to our service call request. The leak was caused due to old piping and hot water sitting in the line over several years finally causing a small hole. Nick's crew was very informative and they replaced the pipe with a new Pex pipe seam to seam. The price was very reasonable and we liked them so much we had them come back to professionally clean the drains. Also very reasonably priced. Their crew was not pushy and always professional. I believe you get what you pay for. I will definitely be recommending Nick's to friends and use Nick's with all of my Plumbing needs!

Wish I could give ten stars!  Started out with a bathtub issue and found extensive plumbing problems because of an old lead trap.  The work required someone to dig a tunnel under the foundation to get to the problem.  Wow, was I surprised seeing someone stand under my house's foundation.  Luis and Armando were my Nick's Plumbing team.  From the beginning through the end, I was kept appraised of all work and the steps needed to fix the problem and bring it up to current code!  To say I was impressed is an understatement.  This was for me an expensive endeavor, but one needed and required if I ever want to see the house.  Luis and Armando did an excellent job and I could not be happier, and of course, with less money in my wallet.  I checked with three other plumbing companies using the itemized work statement from Nick's and found these three local, always being advertised plumbing companies were a lot higher in cost for the same repairs, almost triple the price in one case.  I would have thought they would all be close to the repair costs, but not what I encountered.  I got more bang for the buck having Nick's do the work.  I would never recommend someone or a company that I knew was not great, but in Nick's Plumbing, these are true professionals and it showed throughout the entire project.  When they were completed, the place was cleaned up and looked better than before they started.

Nick's plumbing was called out to free three drains. The first call took two hours. During the call, they found that the water heater safety valve required replacing, and there was no water cut-off valve to the heater. They also recommended a water heater safety system, Floodstop. It was agreed to install the three items the following day, which took one hour.
I checked the list price of the three parts, and where there was a range of prices, I choose the most expensive one. The parts came to $252. The total bill came to just under $1850. That computes to over $500 per hour labor. I wonder if my not being there and my daughter acting in my place had anything to do with this over the top cost?

Today I called Nick's Plumbing to check on the main sewer line because it was draining into the yard. I was not having sewage or waste coming out of the drains. When I made the call for them to come I told them my issue and also to the guy that came to solve the issue. The person that came told me he needed to clear the sewer line and to do a video on it. That the cost for that will be $ 359.00. I told him to do it.  He just did minimum effort  at opening up where the issue was and just used the hole that the main sewer line had to clean the sewer line and checked it with the camera. After doing that he told me it was clogged with condoms and sanitary napkins and that the line needed to be replaced because the pics showed the line was obstructed at several points. After he left I dug on the whole area that was affected.  What happened is that the part of the line where the issue was at collapsed. By collapsing, the pieces of PVC  and dirt that fell into the line obstructed it. Because of the same sewage was escaping and raising into the top of the yard. The person from this plumbing company didn't do the minimum effort on checking what the problem was, made what was easier for him to do and told me that I needed to replace the main sewer line which will cost $ 5,000.00. What needed to be done was to fix the collapsed part of the main sewer line. I don't recommend the company. Sadly maybe one bad apple will spoil the whole bunch. Because of the bad experience i will never use them again.

Man oh man these guys were great! We called them with an urgent job, needing a shower fixed before some guest arrived later that day!  I had shopped around for several hours with people promising to call me back & others not having availability for several day until I found Nicks. The receptionist I spoke with was courteous and informative, she explained to me the exact process and that the tech would come during a window of time and that they would call when he was en-route. They were by far the most polite company I had contacted. The technician Josh K. was an absolute professional! I just had ALL plumbing lines in and under my house replaced.  Good price aside ($2000 cheaper than 1 company and $4000 cheaper than another), what really prompts me to post a recommendation was the service. Good customer service and good workmanship together are so hard to find these days! The owner is very personable and professional. I expect that of an owner but was surprised at the caliber of professionalism, knowledge and courteousness of all his workers.

All 4 young men who worked at my house were the most polite and professional people I've dealt with in a many years, and I've overseen quite my share of construction and remodel jobs. They covered my wood floors AND wore plastic booties over their shoes, vacuumed up all mess including drywall dust...by the end of the day, I think my floors were cleaner than before they arrived !! All of them but especially the lead guy, Sam, were patient with my questions and gave very thorough answers. I'd done my research on a few issues I was expecting to come up and these guys really know their stuff.

Without hesitation I give a 5 star rating to Richard, Sam, and all the guys at Nick's Plumbing.

I've used Nick's Plumbing for several years and I've always had successful, positive experiences. Their plumbers are very experienced and do a great job.  I count on them anytime I have a plumbing issue.  Today, it was a sprinkler backflow preventer that leaked. The plumber was there on time, diagnosed the issue, fixed the pipe, and taped it up securely, taking care to ensure that the job area was left better than when he arrived.  Solid job.

Horribly expensive, but worst of all, they fixed the problem without getting my consent, so then I had to pay the astronomical price without the liberty of comparing prices with other plumbers. Worst of all, the plumber came into my house, didn't wait for me to answer the door. Intrusive, rude, conniving and dishonest. So much for supporting that local business.

Ok so the first scheduled day was off putting. They gave me  a 2 hour window.(no calls, updates as to why late).tech came 2 hours after window ended. Young, not very communicative or thorough(didnt tell me when he was testing that a huge pool of water was now on my floor and left drain cap off sewer outside). This was for a free estimate(made me think I got what I paid for) Since he came so late and I had to go to work ,we rescheduled. I had misgivings so I canceled. Then rescheduled again but only for a camera to check a blockage and possible line break that another plumber(different company) told me I had days before(nicks was my second opinion). The next day I get a text with bio and photo on tech ,on his way. Leo .What can I say, his entire manner screamed EXPERIENCE. Leo more than made up for previous day. I thought he just came to do the camera but after checking faucets and stuff around the house he felt like the other plumber was no real plumber and didnt snake it right. I had my doubts but in 10 mins it was cleared! This was at my daughter's house. I said let's keep the number and we call them (she has obvious low water pressure issues in one bath) ONLY if we get LEO and maybe his protege George.

We've used Nick's plumbing four times in the last 3 months to fix some things on a house we are selling. All four times the technician was there on time, gave me an estimate, and was able to complete the work quickly. Three of the four times was for fixing leaks; the fourth time was to replace 10 faucets. The prices for fixing the leaks were a little high but not overly so; replacing the faucets was pretty pricey but given the fact we had 10 of them to do and I was 8+ months pregnant I had no desire to do them myself, so it was money well spent (not to mention they ran into some problems with faucent compatability which would have taken me forever to figure out). I'll definitely use them again and like the fact they're local, too.

These guys are great. They were able to fit me in same day with my plumbing emergency. Their technician, Hector, was amazing. He explained my issue and was happy to answer any questions. They were quick and efficient.

My first experience with Nick's was when a drain pipe under my house collapsed. I had 4 plumbers come out. Two recommended a very very expensive and invasive solution. One of them said they couldn't give me a price until they had dug under the house to discover the problem.  Nick's was the most reasonable solution and the best price. Richard made me feel confident that they knew what they were doing and would do it well.  And they delivered!

Since then, they have done several minor repairs on my house - not cheap, but quick and good service and they get it right the first time.

I have had cheaper plumbers, yes, but I have suffered the consequences of those decisions, too.

I can corroborate the other review indicating that they were pricey for faucet installation.  They charged me over $200 per faucet.  Drain installations are an additional amount (over $100 each).  If you need new supply lines expect to spend another $90 per faucet.  Ridiculous but I couldn't find another plumber to come out when needed.  I certainly won't be calling them again.  The work performed was professional and the plumbers were great but the extortionist pricing overrules all that in my opinion.

I had a full blockage of my kitchen line due to root penetration.  I tried to fix the problem myself, but it was definitely time to call a plumber.   I used Nick's...  the plumber showed up on time.  He was very professional.  He fixed the problem, and stayed to watch the laundry and kitchen sinks fill and drain before he considered the problem corrected.   This was far better than experiences I have had with other plumbers.   I would definitely recommend Nick's...

Get multiple estimates!  My wife called Nicks Plumbing to repair a gas leak in the line going to an outdoor kitchen.  The technician, David Guerra came out and said the entire line  needed to be replaced.  He stated that there could be multiple leaks and that could pose a danger if left unchecked.   He quoted a total cost of over $5,800 to complete the job.  We reluctantly agreed and the job was completed in about 6 hours.   After the fact, feeling that their quote was high I called 3 separate plumbers to obtain a quote on what they would charge  for an identical job that Nicks did for us.   The quotes ranged from $1,500 to $2,400.   I feel that we were clearly overcharged.  We paid a company $966/hour to dig a 60ft. ditch and lay some pipe.  To make matters worse, they never called 811 to have the utility company mark my utility lines and the workers cut though just about every cable/internet/outdoor lighting line that was in their path.  This was most likely because we had agreed to have the job done and they wanted to start immediately before we may come to our senses that their quote was outrageous.  We take full responsibility however- we were in a rush, felt that there was a danger to the property due to the leak and agreed on the price.    When I called Nick's to voice my complaint, they gave me a 10% discount.  When I called Nick's to voice my complaint, they agreed to give me a 10% discount off the original price which is still 2.5X what I should have paid.

Called their office on a Wednesday and got a Thursday 3:00 PM service call arranged. It is now Thursday after 5:00 PM and no one has called to say if they are going to show up at all, be late, they are not coming, no nothing. What does it take to get a competent plumber to my residence?

I found the technician who came over kinda pushy and also seemed pricey to me. I f I had not been up against the wall I would have gotten a second bid. Not my first first choice. Good but pricey.

I had a toilet that overflowed when my washing machine was on. I called Nick's Plumbing and set an appointment and waited through my three hour window and they were a no show. I called and their consistently messed up phone machine left me no options of speaking to a real person. I did leave a message and a rather annoyed woman named Karen calls me. Throughout I told her that no one had come and she (with the sound in her voice like she's talking and rolling her eyes) said she needed to look at the schedule. She called me back and they were on an emergency and needed to reschedule. I have been a long time client of Nick's so I gave grace and scheduled for January 3, 2015 10-1. Again a no show I called (the phone machine system still flaky) and finally got thru to leave a message, 45 minutes later a still annoyed Karen calls me says she needs to look at the schedule find out what happened and will call me back. She has a way of making you feel as though you are putting them out. She called back and said they had an emergency (where have I heard that before?) and he could be there when they finished. I told her I had sat something up with someone else because I haven't had the most reliable experience with Nick's. She offered no apology, nothing. She hung up on me because I am assuming I was bothering her with my business. I went with Benjamin Franklin Plumbers (they pay you $5.00 a minute they are late) I am disappointed Nick's Plumbing has become what it has.

Had an appointment scheduled between 8a-9a this morning (First Call).  At 9:25a I called to find out when the tech would be here and they said that they would call me back.  They never did.  I called back at 10:00a and they said that the tech would be available in 45 minutes, maybe.

Good luck getting them to show up, I had a 12-3 pm appointment window that they never bothered to show up for. I called them at 4pm and they said they were running behind but would be there. I called again and got a machine that connected me to a full voicemail box. If they had told me they couldn't do it from the beginning I would have been able to get another plumber and move on, but instead I had to pay $200 extra to get a real plumber to come out after hours.

I called Nick's to install a water line for a refrigerator. On the day of service, I saw him drive by looking so I stepped out front to flag him down.I  don't know why that made him so upset, but I heard him say I see you 'expletives deleted', hold on. Needless to say, I told him to leave in the same way and called Nick's to express my anger. They sent another tech who attempted to be nicer to the point of being obsequious, but then proceeded to quote a price of $575 for a job other plumbers would charge less than $200. In fact, I called someone else and they did it with parts for $165. Needless to say, Nick's is through in my book.

NEVER AGAIN!  If I could give this business 0 stars, I would.  They are extremely expensive, quoted a low price over phone, then came out and charged $800 over quote...not to mention, they didn't even tell me they were proceeding with this extra work.  I would NOT recommend this company as they have deceptive business practices.

We called to ask how much it would cost to troubleshoot our tankless water heater error code. They quoted my wife and I on 2 separate calls. When they showed up the repair man was very nice but charged me 275 for simply calling the rheem technical support for instructions. No work was done on the unit and that cost 275, really.Way overpriced and I quickly found numerous other companies that charged half that price to troubleshoot the error. On top of that the estimates he gave me to repair the tankless water heater for a simple cleaning was 800-1200. My second opinion came and laughed when they heard that price. The estimated 1/5th the price.
I will not be using them any more. Plenty of otherness honest, reputable, professional and friendly companies that will get my business.

Worst plumbing service ever! Was given a window between 12pm and 3pm received a phone call at 4:45pm that the plumber would be on his way in 30-45 minutes, no respect for ones time. Then came out the following day to attempt to refix an outdoor bathroom toilet that is used less than 1/2 a dozen times a year that they serviced in the summer that they charged me $375 to fix and low and behold the toilet is still leaking loads of water from the base of the toilet. They want to charge me $325 to fix it again. It's like they did absolutely nothing the first time they came out because the first problem still exists but they want to charge me more money! NO THANKS!!

We had them out a week ago to fix a back up in our master bath. We liked them because they seemed to do a good job installing a new water heater a few years ago. After my husband missed a half day of work and over $2000 later, we are having the same problem a week later. I called them and had an appointment in the afternoon. I had to take a half day off of work and, guess what...they never showed up. Worst of all, Brenda, the one who sets up the appointments was less than understsnding or had any sense of customer service. They finally sent someone out today, but guess what...the guys didnt have the right equipment to do the job. So, I called Brenda back asking to talk to a manager. So, far, no calls from anyone who gives a darn about their customers or referrals! We used to tell our friends to use them, but after this experience, unless a manager makes this right immediately, I will make it my mission to keep people from using this company!

I had them come to my house two days in a row!  Both of my toilets wouldn't flush.  The first day the guy came out, messed around in both bathrooms for about 20 minutes, came to me and said he fixed them.  It was my mistake for not checking before he left, but instead said okay and paid the $155.  I went to use the bathroom about an hour later, and it was still not working!!!!  The next day another guy comes out, apologizes for the first guy and after careful inspection (sarcasm intended) he says he needs to run a snake camera down the pipe to see if there is any obstruction, at a cost of $325!  I have no experience with this type of thing and I need my toilets to work, so I said fine.....do it.  So what happens?  He runs the snake, says he doesn't find anything, but recommends I change out the flushing mechanism in the tank of both toilets.  Well, being a plumber you would think..........his van is in my driveway, he's going to go ahead and finish the job right?  WRONG!  He says, I'll have them send a guy out tomorrow to fix it!  What the hell?  So I have to have a guy come 3 days in a row now?

I said forget it, I called a friend of a friend that does plumbing work to come out and see what's wrong.  And what does he find?  That the line is blocked!!!!!  $325 and the guy from Nicks Plumbing either didn't do the job he said he did, or did it lousy!  I would strongly recommend using someone else!   It's bad enough he missed this huge blunder (which they refuse to reimburse any amount of) but it's even worse he didn't want to fix it that same day but send someone else out the next day!

We asked them to repair a leaking toilet that was running.  They said that could not find flapper replacement valve and that I would have to replace the entire toilet!  We have had the flapper valve replaced several times in the past and this was obviously a scam.  Don't call these guys!

most professional and courteous contractor/home improvement/workman/handyman company i've dealt with. they were over and done with the job looooong before any of the other plumbers i'd left messages with called me back!  one star off for price, but it was worth it for a job well done and peace of mind.  workman also gave great suggestions (like pour 1 cup bleach in sink drain once per month to kill algae and prevent buildup/blockage) to delay future service call!

Have used Nick's plumbing for the past three years and although I thought the price a little high, the service was always good....until this past fall.  Had Nick's come out in October to fix a flushing problem with one of my toilet's.  They had to replace the flushing device and that was it.  Then three month's later the problem started again.  Called them back and they had to replace the part again.  They still charged me the full amount for the service call and the parts.  When I called to complain about the price they told me that they only guarantee their parts for one month.  Also told me that the plumber should have given me a rate ahead of time and that he would probably be fired for not doing so.  A nice thing to tell your customer, to I guess, make me feel bad that they charged me $160, again, to repair what they had supposedly repaired just three months before.  Needless to say, they naturally didn't fire the plumber as I saw him driving around the neighborhood a few weeks later.  Not that I thought he should be let go.  He did a great job and was super friendly.  I will not use them again and I do not recommend them.
