They were quick to respond to a call, but charged $325 to clear a disposal and snake the drain. What a RIP off

Plumbing problems in a house are stressful, like car problems. You find yourself in a vulnerable position, at the mercy of someone who may or may not take advantage of that vulnerability and stiff you for a huge bill. That's why I'm so thankful when I'm well taken care of, like today.
After a couple of days away from my house, I came home to a back yard full of water and my water turned off in the house. My meter had been showing over 5 gallons per minute going into the house with nary a faucet running, so there was a pretty significant leak, somewhere in the plumbing. Evidently, our lovely hundred-year drought has been causing similar situations all over town.
Anyway, I got on Yelp and looked for a close plumber and called a likely candidate. He came out the next day and quoted me $127/hour with a one hour minimum for leak detection and then $250 as a starting point to plug the leak. (Ouch, but at least there was a chance of getting it fixed that day, right?) We turned the water on and he walked around the house looking for the water that would be bubbling up, but there was no water to be found. At that point, he explained that we'd need to do an isolation test which would involve knocking holes in my walls, testing pressure, and rerouting pipes. Probably a project that would run into the thousands. Gag.
So, I called up my homeowner's insurer and they wanted to bring in a second opinion, and S & D was their plumber. S & D came first thing this morning. What a difference the selection of plumber made! We turned the water back on and my guy diagnosed the problem pretty quickly. He guessed that the leak was where my water softener's bypass met the water line and used a giant metal dipstick to find the wet earth and confirm. He found and fixed the problem in about 90 minutes and the total bill for finding and repairing the leak was about $200.
I'm sure the earlier slab leak diagnosis had something to do with how happy I was to pay $200, but the difference in experience between my first plumber and these guys was stark. They were on the scene quickly after my initial call, fixed the problem quickly, and gave me a great price. I'll definitely use S & D again.

Four-and-a-half stars would be more fair than four. What now appears to be a simple mistake on a busy weekend led to a missed Saturday appointment. After a few missed calls from us, a late Saturday call and apology from Joe led to his visit and look at the job, and we agreed to a first-thing-Monday-morning job. He arrived before sun-up and quickly provided absolute TOP QUALITY work. His attitude and behavior gave every indication of a decent, conscientious and diligent professional we'd be happy to hire in the future. The initial problem and the company response to it may in fact give us more reason to hire this firm -- knowing they come through when things aren't smooth.

Andre was very nice and professional. He was on job site promptly, and unclogged my garbage disposal pipe, replaced a part, and cleaned up the work site afterwards. His hourly rate was the best quote I got out of 10 places I contacted via Yelp, and he charged me less than that for the job that took half an hour (he didn't ask for the full rate because it is the first hour). He also accepts online payments via Venmo. Recommended.

RC was the plumber that came to my house. He was able to work me in and have my issue resolved in an hour. He is our plumber from now own, if there was a 10 star rating he would get that. Thank you RC for coming to my rescue.

Rick himself picked up when I called and offered his valuable time and opinion even when he couldn't come out. He sounded like an honest and reasonable guy and gave us options as to how to approach the problem (newly built house with a clog less than a year in). He even gave referrals to other trusted plumbers that could help us sooner and with different tools. They definitely sound like they know their stuff and their competition. He was extremely friendly and patient with my barrage of questions, lol.
I would definitely give Rick a call if you have a clog, he will listen to you and help you through it even if he himself can't get to you in time. How awesome is that?

I had a broken sink and tub shower handle in my guest bathroom. They charged $19.99 for an estimate. They provided three different option/ estimates after looking at everything in the house but the water heater. They were disappointed that the water heater was barried in the garage behind storage, and said it probably wasn't to code. The first estimate was for $4,286.01, the second was for $1,410.06, and the third was for $694.63. We decided to go to home depot and follow Stanley's Plumbing Homeowner's Guide, and fix it ourselves. The really sad part was that we told them we were on a very fixed budget because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. They talked about other repairs that could wait, yet did not tell us what needed to be replaced for our shower/bathroom. We spent $11.23 on the part at home depot. I had the opportunity to follow up with the owner, who was very receptive to making adjustments and appreciated the feedback. He takes pride in his performance and works hard to meet his customers needs. It's a difficult time with many adjustments during the Covid Pandemic, and I feel confident that he will evaluate customers feedback to improve his performance and customer service.

I have called Mike for all of the plumbing needs at my daughter's house and he has never disappointed. Last time I called him on a Friday morning to see about setting up a time to do a major job he had quoted for me a few months prior and he was at the house in about an hour and had the job done within a couple more hours. Mike is very professional and knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and very fair on his pricing. He's the only one I call if I need a plumber. I highly recommend him!

I received a notice that my back flow system was due for the annual inspection. After finding the list of contractors in the area that performed this service I gave A & D Backflow a call. They were friendly and professional. They also were able to complete the inspection that same day. They notified me that the inspection had been completed and I was able to pay the invoice with Apple Pay. I was very happy with this quick friendly service. He even took a photo of a shed snake skin he found hanging on the valve to warn me to be careful of snakes.

Home emergency repairs can be scary when they happen, especially when it comes to water. How bad is the issue? How much will it cost to fix? Who should I call?
I'm glad we stumbled across these guys. They really are the best. We've used them several times over the past year and a half, since the beginning of glorious 2020. Everything from a leaking water heater, leaking toilet, busted pipe in our wall, faucet installations, and water heater install. They do it all and each time they came through the quality of service has been outstanding. They have this friendly-neighbor feel to them. Whenever we have a water issue we do not hesitate to call them. Each of these guys perform consistent quality work.

This was my first time using Reliant. They were able to come to the house the following day. The technicians, Asa and Grayson, were knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. They were very helpful solving my problem. I would highly recommend them and would call them again.
