Very responsive (a rarity among contractors from my experience), friendly, professional, and fair rates. They did a great (and fast)  job replacing a toilet for me and based on this experience I would certainly recommend them to others.

Needed plumbing work done and Mark (the owner and Master Plumber) was very responsive, efficient, and was on-site for all the work doing most of it himself with his son (also a plumber) assisting. Definitely a great company and person to deal with!

I owned my home for several years and had no ceiling light in my living room. My home was over 100 years old, so it was originally gas lighting. Manny placed 6 recessed lights in my living room ceiling and included a dimmer switch! Then he installed baseboard electric heaters in every room including my living room. He did an excellent job and I was very happy.

I worked with Matt on a unique plumbing issue and he was knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. You can trust in A&P!

We called Greg for flickering lights in several rooms.  He's awesome!  Very thoughtful, clean, honest, pleasant, and incredibly fair. He's a huge find.

Larry and his sons (Larry and Ryan) were great.  I see why they get such high ratings.  They were  reasonably priced, knowledgeable, polite, funny, did a great job, and they cleaned up afterwards.  This was the first in a series of things I need done, and I will definitely have them back.  I moved to Philadelphia 6 years ago but just bought my condo in May.  Finding contractors you can trust is not always easy.   I usually ask for recommendations from friends, but no one had anyone for me.  Next I go to Yelp, and Yelp did not disappoint.  Thanks guys and I will see you again!

TL;DR Professional electricians, clean work, timely and the right price

Background:

I collected at least 4 estimates from electricians for the work I needed. One electrician was eliminated because he suggested work that didn't need to get done and another electrician was eliminated because his quote was too low.

I was left with 2 quotes that were comparable in price, one of which was Jim's. It was a hard decision to make given I don't know much about electrical work. Yet, two things stood out to me: 1) Jim included a few optional services like getting a totally new panel. He didn't mandate it but suggested it. He also gave me some background information on how to decide whether to do it now or later. 2) When his electricians came out for a quote I had them look at some of the other things the other electricians pointed out. Again, they gave me all of the information I needed to make an informed decision.

I appreciate experts who help their customers understand what they are paying for. That builds trust and shows integrity in an industry that sometimes feels it's lacking that all around.

Excellent business and great customer service. Professional in communication and service was swift and efficient. COVID conscious and respectful to customers home environment.

I called these guys on a Saturday and they were able to come out on a Monday. They tried to talk me through it on the phone to make sure it wasn't something easily fixed by pushing a button, it wasn't, and I can appreciate that effort to help someone.

They actually arrived a little early and went right to work.  It was a fairly simple act to replace some dead components and actually came in below the estimate. so these guys are not padding their bills in any way.

the only thing that bothered me is that the guy explained in great detail what he was doing. Too much detail I'd say. I guess they're in a business where people are worried they are being ripped off so they want to be sure the customer is completely comfortable with what they are doing but i really wanted to say 'fine, please just do it.

But fast, good, fair priced, responsive. For that i can put up with a little excess chatter.

We had used this company before so we were surprised when only one service person arrived. But it was fine. We were updating to comfort height toilets. The toilets were replaced quickly and the old ones dealt with. Apparently a one person job.
I would use them again.

Osiris Jones showed up on time and was very pleasant. He did not have access to the tall ladder during our original consultation, but offered to come back on Saturday to install all of our light fixtures. He was efficient, friendly and even took all of the light fixture boxes with him. Everything looks great!

I highly recommend FMJ electrical.  I called them Monday to install a wire from ceiling fan to  power outlet near the floor.  Next day technician arrived on time to estimate cost and do the job. It was made complicated because the wire had to traverse an air duct.  Mike estimated the cost of the job on the spot and I am very happy that he used an estimating book and gave me a great price. Took him two hours to install wire and patch the five holes he had to make.  Mike did a perfect job.  I will definitely use them again.

My tech mike was great. The issue I have was the young lady Olivia in the office. I had called earlier in the day to schedule my heater to be serviced. Apparently I was not using the correct terminology as she so kindly pointed out  that was is considered  Maintenance. She said they don't not schedule those appointments on the weekend and the next available appointment would have been mid December. I told her I would call back Monday to schedule an appointment for maintenance.
Later I found out the temperature would drop to 32ﾟ that night so I decided to turn the heat on. When it did not come on and I sought help to light the pilot but it would not stay lit.  I call the office back to get an emergency appointment and spoke with the same young lady who gave me attitude as if I was lying about the situation. I have an infant and a young child and dropping temperatures and did not have time for her attitude.
She call back to tell me that there was a technician that could be there within the hour but I had left to go by space heaters because I did not believe she would send a Tech out. Someone was speaking to me and she proceeded to yell both of you could not speak at the same time.  I admit she was on the car speaker and it can sound loud and choppy sometime.  It was how she said it with negative connotations.  By this time I was like go fuck yourself but I had small children to think about.
In the future maybe this young lady can understand trying to get service on during the holiday season is stressful enough this is another bill on top of everything else and people don't need stink attitudes to go with it.

The leak detection side of their offerings was fine.

However, I made the mistake of hiring them for their plumbing. Their plumber found the most roundabout, expensive way to resolve the issue and turned a $400-$500 fix into a $2500 fix.

Even once it was fixed, it started leaking again a few weeks later. This was supposed to be covered by my warranty, but they wanted more money.I ended up paying another $250 so they would do the fixe the way it should've been done in the first place.

If you use them to find your leak, do not under any circumstances hire them to fix anything.
