Best Businesses in Philadelphia, PA
I had to convert my home in Philadelphia from oil to gas heat. I got several quotes from several places and they were all about the same, but Mark threw in the removal of my old oil tank with the price. Overall, they did a great job. We only had some slight miscommunication regarding my thermostat, but I'll chalk that up to us never meeting in person and doing business 3,000 miles apart and him having to deal with my tenant. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still use him. He responds fast by phone, email, and texts. And they finished the job within the agreed upon timeframe. More importantly, he began the job before receiving my check, which was definitely a plus.

Brandon is great! He was very responsive, and was able to fit me in soon after I called him. He gave me a very reasonable set quote to replace my kitchen faucet and completed the work quickly with no problems. I also showed him around the house to other things that needed to be done and he was helpful in explaining and advising and gave me a quote for those items as well. I would highly recommend him!

I called Boss Plumbing & Heating about issues I was having with the sewer line in my rental property. Warren should up and was able to take care of the problem. He did an excellent job at a very fair price and he also gave me recommendations on how to avoid having that problem in the future. I will definitely recommend Boss Plumbing & Heating to all my friends and family.

We couldn't be more thrilled with our experience with John Snyder Plumbing. He answered the phone directly himself and was super easy to work with by text messaging and cell phone - always with lightning fast responses. John and his assistant came on time and did our job quickly, quietly, and with an extremely professional approach. You can tell just by his snazzy pink van, that this is a guy who takes care of his business and his customers! We are super happy with the results, and the work area and our home was left spotless. Even settling the invoice by venmo was a super easy piece of cake! Thank you so much... I'm almost looking forward to our next plumbing problem!

We had an issue with a clog, Kit came out had it taken care of within a half hour, cleaned up and was very courteous throughout. The job was more involved than expected but he was very professional and the price was very reasonable.

My worst experience with a plumber was with Goodman Plumbing. Our basement flooded and we thought that the water was coming in through the front of the house as we knew that water had came in there before. Thinking it was finally time to get the job done before waterproofing the basement, we called Goodman. They charged us over $6000 to replace the stepwell drain, the downspouts, and a main sewer pipe going to the street, and the job was done in the most atrocious way. The new pipe work looked good at first, but not even a year after, we see that it was terrible. The water is not going down the stepwell drain, and even the cement box that the drain is built into is coming away from the house because of the crappy cement work and the fact that they did not even the dirt out correctly in my front yard. So now not only do I have an uneven front lawn that pools water everytime it rains, but the drain does not work still. We tried calling Goodman at least 10-15 times after they left, and they chose to ignore us now that they had their money. I would never deal with these thieves again, and I recommend others not to also.

Our hot water tank cracked and started leaking suddenly. Mike came over the same day and was able to install new unit within 48hours. It is evident that he knows his business and does things the right and safe way. Have been looking for a reliable plumber for years! Mike is the guy.

Great service. Our water heater was leaking, so I called in to get a quote. John called back by midday and talked me through options. They were able to get out the next day, and everything went smoothly. They ran me through what they had done and did their best to get the leaking/rusty water heater out without tracking water all over the place and cleaned up when they were done. Would definitely use them again.

We had Valdel Plumbing come to our home to do several repairs as well as replace toilets. Steve was the tech that came. Not only was he efficient and knowledgeable, he was also kind and very professional. The work he did was outstanding. I will only use Valdel from now on. I would give this company 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend them!

A pipe broke on Thursday (Thanksgiving). Friday morning I entered a Yelp request for a quote from Bommer plumbing. (Yelp site now says response is typically within 9 hours, although at the time I'd thought it was 4 hours). Nothing back on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday in spite of their 24 hour service claim. Early Monday morning I receive a message saying technician can't evaluate from picture and will need to come onsite to quote. If you accept quote, $87 charge will be waived. I can understanding wanting more info, but how about a call or request for more detail first, before charging $87 for an estimate?
Compare this to JB Plumbing, where the owner responded within 10 minutes of my request, happened to live nearby and came over to check out the situation (no charge) and then gave me options since he didn't have needed part in hand. One of the options was to wait and see what other plumbers responded. If no one was available, let him know and he'd send one of his techs from Phila on Saturday. Long story short - go with JB and skip the M-F, no holiday support Bommer.
Maybe it was just an off time or they aren't set up to respond to yelp quickly, but they should say so in their listing.

Happy is the best adjective to describe my experience with Zip To Zip Plumbing. I'm new to homeownership, and already experience my first problem, a leaky pipe. Of course, as a novice, my first reaction was to panic. The thought of having to be super vulnerable and trust someone to be honest about my plumbing issue filled me with anxiety. When you're a woman, you most times look like an easy mark to people when it comes to car and housing issues.
Having said that, I'm so glad to have found Zip To Zip Plumbing. From my very first inquiry on Yelp for a plumber, they reached out immediately. They weren't my first choice for a quote because my first thought was to choose people who have the most stars and reviews, but they were patient with me while I came to my good sense. So when I was left waiting over a day just to hear a quote, meanwhile I still had a leaky pipe, they answered my request for help immediately. And I mean immediately! As in at 10:30pm they told me they'd be at my house the next morning.
And guess what?!? The very next morning two men were there, ON TIME!! These two men were so nice, and honest (I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot their names). All of the issues the other plumbers quoted me high prices for, they looked at and said it wasn't necessary at the moment. I wasn't having any issues with the other stuff, and since my house was old, the old plumbing was to be expected. They simply told me to hold off on a major plumbing replacement and just get the small, and might I add, very reasonably price, pipe repaired, and in the future when/if I get a major leak from the old stuff, then get the whole plumbing redone. After all, I might be able to get several more years out of the old plumbing.
They even went as far as to tell me what I should expect to pay for an entire plumbing overhaul in my tiny house, and that if someone quotes higher than that, they're ripping me off. It was nice because what they quoted as the price for a complete re-plumbing of my house was the same price as one of the quotes I received for the minimal and unnecessary work to repair this leak.
As for the work itself... EXCELLENT! No more leak! At the end of the day, that's what I needed and they delivered. I'm very satisfied and would definitely recommend giving them a try. I know I'll be using them again!!

Mike was quick to reply to my text, and came out the next day during the window he said he would. He called 15 minutes in advance, looked at my leaky house faucet, and repaired it on the spot in about 10 minutes. He was friendly, funny, and the price was great (another recommended company estimated the project at more than 3x the price). Definitely going to call him again if I need plumbing help.

Easy scheduling and fast appointments. PJ was great and helped me understand the process and the work being done. He was on time and work very efficiently. I would recommend Mr. Rooter in the future
