I'm obsessed with Fixer! Recently, I moved into a new place that needed minor repairs to make it feel like home! I texted Fixer with a list of about a dozen things, and within a few minutes my appointment was booked.

My fixer showed up on time the next day and completed everything on the list. She moved quick but also explained things to me and gave very helpful tips and advice. Also, she was very nice to my dog and super cool about me attending my WebEx lecture while she was working around me.  

They also will run to the store for you so if you don't have all the supplies, they will get them. One thing I noticed is that they really pay attention to the notes you put into the job description. For example, one of my items was installing a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector and my fixer brought batteries - I already had them but I am impressed she was super prepared!

I was quoted a price of $119 an hour, with $79 an hour shopping fee + cost of items, all prorated to the minute. A little more expensive than the local handypeople on Yelp, but the customer service, ease of booking and ease of payment on top of the great service make it worth it in my book.

Steve is the electrical contractor you are looking for! Quick response time, friendly, knowledgeable and cleaned up. No surprises with pricing, what he quoted was what we paid. Will definitely use him for all future project's!

I found Steve and Greg through a Moms of Western Springs FB group. We had a switch go out and there was an arc of electricity so I was concerned about fixing it as soon as possible. I called Monday night and they got out Tuesday morning and fixed the problem. Their response was remarkably fast and the quality of their work was exceptional. Thanks Steve and Greg!

Art was awesome! He did a great job installing some ceiling fans in our house. He was very friendly and knowledgeable . His prices are very fair. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician. I for sure would hire Art again for any electrical work!

Don and his team are AWESOME and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for an electrician.  Honest, professional, and thorough.

Don came to my house the same day I called to give me an estimate on several jobs that I needed to sell my house, had the estimate prepared the next day, and actually came in under what he proposed when the job was completed.

His crew showed up early and Don did a next day follow up call.

Extremely easy to schedule and work with! Matt arrived slightly early (which I appreciated!) and completed our ceiling light install in no more than an hour. I was nervous he would have to rip out drywall to set up the wiring, but thankfully he was able to wire and install the light without any wall damage. He was professional, friendly, and the cost was reasonable. I would definitely call Prolite again!

First off , they came out LAST MINUTE on a really crappy snowy day at the end of April . And made it here with a SOLUTION in hand after an hour . Replaced a very old , filled with rust water heater . Not too mention the original plumbing was a potch job . These guys did a PHENOMENAL JOB .

Due to the COVID pandemic, our GC decided he would not be back to finish installing the electrical outlets and make the wire connections until things settled down. After 3 weeks of not hearing back and needing our kitchen wired so we can finally cook again, we decided to give Jeff a try.

He made an appointment to come out in two days and get everything straightened out for us. We were super nervous there would be issues, but within 1.5 hours, success! He wired it all and showed us it worked. So now we can FINALLY connect our appliances and install our cabinets and cook once again.

Highly recommend Jeff. Personable, punctual, and fair prices. Very happy with his work.

They sent Alex who I caught going through some personal property in an area he had no business being. He isn't trustworthy and I would suggest that you follow him everywhere throughout your home or business. I made the mistake of leaving him alone for 5 mins and he was rummaging  through my things, and when I caught him in the act he act as though I didn't see what I just saw.

Had some smart switches that needed to be installed that were a bit above my (admittedly minimal) expertise. David responded with a very reasonable quote right away - and showed up on time when he said he was going to a couple days later. He was professional and courteous - I would highly recommend for any household electrical needs!

What a pleasure to meet such a consummate professional. We reached out to Matt late one evening for an emergency call to address a possible short in a wall switch. We were fortunate in that he had an appointment cancellation for the next day and he arrived right in time.
I have never seen any tradesman as competent, thorough, and meticulous as Matt in their work. He checked out all connections in the panel and a suspect wall socket.
He spent two hours including a trip to purchase some parts and the cost was extremely reasonable to boot!

Very professional and knowledgeable tech.    After getting a couple quotes from different companies I decided to change the electric panel and  install the ev charger with Electric Castle . Mike and Bogdan explained the process and the steps they have to do in order to get the job done. Very careful around the house, clean and outstanding job overall

Owner of the company is honest.  Did all work as expected.  His workers were puntual and professional.  Calls were returned, problems addressed quickly.  Solid contractor.

Installed a new outlet for a wall mounted tv. Did a great job and was quick. Great price and great service.

Homer is the hardest working man in Chicago!  Had a big branch fall on my wires and the electric company said no power until it was fixed. Asked friends for suggestions, made several calls, couldn't get anyone to take a look in a timely fashion.
I did find Homer on Yelp, and I'm happy I did.  He came out that day and walked me through all my options. The major repair was all finished within 24 hours, which even allowed us to keep what was in the fridge!
He even helped with getting the electric company to reconnect the power. I would recommend Homer and Eric to anyone.

Had HandiCo out to take a look at some electrical outlets that weren't working properly.

I contacted them by email and they responded very quickly and professionally. Andy showed up on time and looked everything over, he fixed the problems, offered suggestions for possible improvements and answered all my questions. The experience was great, they were exactly what I was looking for and I feel I got my money's worth.

a tree branch fell and took out the pipe to our electric meter. I called 3 companies , a to z was the first one to come out. the estimate was clear and professional .  only one other company  came  out, and was miles off and vague on their  estimate . Bob was efficient fast and super respectful . Highly recommend them.

Angel is fantastic! I'd recommend him for all of your electrical needs.  He was quick to respond, professional and honest.  Had a faulty track light in our kitchen which he managed to teach me about and fix in no time.  Excellent service!

I contacted Fixer last Wednesday to see if they could take on a small task that just required supporting a couple of bolts on the hinge of my fence. When I called, the representative couldn't quite understand the scope of my project, so he decided it would be best to schedule a consultation. I explained I only wanted a consultation if the project could be completed that same day. He said it shouldn't be a problem. He confirmed the cost would be $139 at time of consultation and that would be applied toward the total project of hired, also that would be the hourly rate. Knowing there's no way that project would be more than an hour. I was desperate and needing it to be done ASAP and so I agreed.

My scheduled time came and went and then I received a notice that my appointment was rescheduled to the following day and they would Credit $15 toward the cost of the consultation. I reached back out and again reinforce that I wanted to cancel unless the project could be completed on the same day. Again was told it should not be a problem.

Nino came out the next day. He was very professional, and nice. He explained he couldn't do the project the same day because he hadn't been booked for it, and even if he had, it was too cold for him to make the repair.

This was a blessing in disguise. I paid the consultation fee, and later got the estimate and was in shock - the total for this project was nearly $300. I had no idea they were going to charge $89 for their handy person to walk into a hardware store, on top of charging $50 (+20% upcharge) for parts which was a couple pieces of wood and a couple of bolts and the hourly rate.

My dad made the repair today in less than 30 mins with a drill and two bolts. He also used a saw to level out the bottom of the fence as Nino had also offered to do.

I just can't believe the cost, it's outrageous. I would not recommend this company based on cost and also the administrative to field miscommunication.
