Best Electricians in Illinois
Since the first time I contacted Fixer, they did a good job. Good and easy communication. Ricardo was on time and ready to work. He gave me some advises to avoid the issue happens again.

Steve is the electrical contractor you are looking for! Quick response time, friendly, knowledgeable and cleaned up. No surprises with pricing, what he quoted was what we paid. Will definitely use him for all future project's!

With Duplex it's like having a family member helping you. These two brothers are seasoned electricians who work fast, do great work and clean up everything before they leave. Very friendly and outgoing guys who I trust entirely to be in my home. Especially if you have an older home these guys have the experience and skills to solve any electrical problem.

Art from AZ Electrical came to my home to replace a hallway light, a porch light, change out a broken switch, as well as remove a broken lamppost in my back yard. Art was quick to respond to my request, and we set up an appointment for him to come to my home to view the work to be done and to give me a cost estimate. His pricing was fair, and he was awarded the job, which took place only a few days later. Art was professional and very knowledgeable in his craft. He was proficient and was meticulous in making sure the job was done correctly, exceeding my expectations. For all of my future electrical needs, I will be calling AZ Electrical.

Don has made my yard look so beautiful on the outside from overhead cable lines to burial. Moving my electrical lines in my basement to another area of the room. Always kept in touch with me every step of the way, always answering all my questions. He finished the job on time! I would highly recommend him for any electrical work! It was a pleasure to work with him and his crew!

This is the 2nd time I've use this company. I put a claim though the home warranty and the company they sent out told me my box needed to be replaced and the 2 main wires to the main had to be replaced. Matt tested the wires and said the other company was inaccurate. Saved me $800. The warranty company wasn't going to pay to upgrade the wire.
Matt was in and out and I have reliable electricity for a life time. I highly recommend them.

These guys are wonderful. I inquired about coming to check out my central AC, because I thought there was an issue. They responded within minutes, and had somebody out within the hour. They checked my system, and it turned out there wasn't an issue, so they didn't even charge me. Couldn't recommend more.

Hey hipsters, this is who you want.
Pros:
Friendly, easy going, courteous,
Cons:
Cash only
Needed about five overhead lights replaced, some with bad wiring and others with very old fixtures. Jeff came out to our home, resolved some of my 'creative workarounds', offered suggestions, spotted some bad wiring, addressed said problem, and gave me an estimate for other wish list work.
Overall, Jeff was very easy to work with and I'd have no problem recommending him for this type of work.

I originally hired Safe Electrical Service 3.5 years ago to preform an electrical inspection on a home I was considering purchasing. Charles Ottsott was extremely professional and knowledge. When we ended up buying another house we had him preform the electrical inspection on that as well and he helped us determine that the home needed new wiring throughout and updated electrical panel. We eventually hired Safe Electrical to rewire our entire house, install all new devices and fixtures, and upgrade to 200 Amp service with new circuit breaker panel. His entire team was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable, clean and organized. They properly protected all surfaces and respected our time and property. I work in the home remodeling business so I deal with contractors and service providers all the time and Safe Electric is one of the best companies I have had the pleasure working with. Their work passed all city inspections. I will use them on all future electrical projects.

David got back to me via email on a Sunday, set up a time to see the issue and showed up right on time the next Monday. His quote was quite fair and the work was amazing. He walked me through all he needed to do and did all the work. He cleaned up after himself and the electric in the house is now as good as the day it was when the home was built. He fixed issues in 4 rooms that were in dire need. I would recommend him highly to all that need electrical work done.

Highly recommend Matt for quality and service. He installed a Tesla wall connector in our garage. He was honest about his recommendations and gave me choices. He showed up on time and worked 6 hours straight. His prices are competitive but his skill is what I would use him again for. If you are looking to have service for your new electric vehicle, then Matt is your guy!

Highly recommend! Mike came by within an hour of me connecting with him to install an outlet for my EV. He explained the process and walked me through it step by step just so I'm aware. I was so impressed, I asked him to work on more electrical stuff around our condo and he's coming back to do those jobs.

Had a great experience with Randal Electric. I'm selling my condos in Chicago and some very minor electrical work popped up on the home inspection report. I called a few different electricians on Yelp in the area and a lot hung up on me because my request was too small for them to set an appointment. I communicated with Randy what I needed to be done and he was confident that it would be a quick and easy fix, plus he'd be able to put me down for an appointment the next morning. Eddie was my electrician who was right on time this morning. He was polite and professional and after he was finished with the breaker he even asked if he could review the home inspection report to make sure everything needing an electricians attention was covered. I appreciate honest businesses in home services. While searching for electricians I ran across CR Electric and they tried to upsell me on an entire new panel a 4-6 hour job that would have been unnecessary and over the top. Eddie was able to make the breaker safe and eliminate the double tap breaker installed by a 10+ year old alarm system company that I never used in 7 years of owning the property. I'm glad I called Randal Electric and if I need electricians for the next 4 condos about to go on the market I know who I'll be calling!

Great service from Edwin and his crew!
We had a potentially large electric problem with some lines from our house to our garage. They were old, frayed and hanging low. It was easy to set up getting a quote from Edwin though the Yelp site. He responded very quickly and arrived on time at the appointed time. He diagnosed the problem and provided a quote via email. I accepted his proposal and he let me know when he was available to come and do the work.
He arrived on time, on the scheduled day. It was a big job which included taking down the old wiring and, digging a trench and sending all new wiring out to the detached garage. Since the home and garage are both over 100 years old, diagnosing our wiring is like a million piece jigsaw puzzle. Edwin did a great job and everything works great! He even did a great job to not disturb the landscaping. You can't even tell that there was a trench dug.
Highly recommend!

I would be very careful before taking this electrician's advice.
I had an odd odor in my kitchen I wanted investigated, as I was concerned that this might mean I was having an electrical problem and at risk of a fire.
I called Homer and he was prompt and courteous in arriving for our estimate/appointment.
I then experienced the most noxious bait-and-switch experience I've had with a technician in a long time. He intentionally used overly technical language and I felt like I was with a used car salesman trying to sell me rustproof undercoating.
Homer exited my kitchen almost immediately, going to my panel box on a completely different floor and explaining all the different ways that my electrical system wasn't wired correctly. This was very confusing to me- since all the electrical in my house was newly installed 3 years ago by a contractor I know personally who is an electrician, and my house passed inspection.
Homer cited a few minor issues such as a few connections being double-tapped, and the box being incorrectly installed which apparently would put it at risk of fire, and the wrong screws being used. He blew up these minor issues into a huge problem that, apparently, was putting me at imminent risk of a fire and would require him to re-wire the whole box for $500. EXCEPT he wasn't available until almost a week later and never advised me to turn off the breaker for the area of the house where the issue was (the kitchen)- so how big of a risk was it, in his mind?? AND, mind you, he never explained why I would get a smell in the kitchen.
Next, Homer furthermore stated my 200 amp box wasn't being properly serviced by a 100 amp line from ComEd, and this was dangerous and he needed to fix it and would work to get the necessary permits. Look- I know my house wasn't updated to code, but when he said this job would cost $2,000-2,500. I almost fell off my chair. Obviously if this was a major problem, my house would not have passed inspection and I would have chronic electrical issues in my home, which I do not. PLUS, he said it would be OK to wait until Spring when I could save up for it- so, again, how urgent is the issue???
I had trouble sleeping that night, worrying about how imperative these supposed necessary safety issues were, and concerned about cost.
Thank God common sense prevailed and I contacted another electrician- someone HONEST, thank goodness- who came out the next day and thoroughly inspected my house for 90 minutes. He explained the double-tapping issue was minor and didn't need correction; he didn't feel the foreign screws were anything to be concerned about; he covered a very minor hole in the electrical box at no cost to reduce moisture intrusion; he inspected every single outlet in the kitchen (and hypothesized since they were all in excellent working order that perhaps the GFI circuitry was about to fail and could account for the occasional smell); yes my box was a 200 amp but so was the external wire; the 100 amp Com-Ed wire needn't be a major issue unless I'm trying to sell the house (as this is technically a code violation, but not a safety concern since there's no way I'm using anywhere near 100 amps of power at one time), etc. etc.
I paid him for his time and promptly cancelled my follow up appt with Homer. Who, by the way does not appear to be a licensed electrician- a fact you can easily check for yourself here: webapps1.cityofchicago.o…
If you want to work with a dishonest cheat who treats women like idiots and uses fear to try to sell unnecessary goods and services, well you know who to call. His number is above.

I used Handico this past week to help paint a hallway, fix a screen door, and fix a closet door. They sent Demond on the job, and he was pleasant, helpful, hard-working, and knowledgable. The walls came out perfect, and he fixed both my closet door and screen door quickly and effectively. He also gave me pointers on how to replace the closet door track, should I eventually choose that route.
I will definitely use HandiCo again, for any random future needs for my condo.

Great company to work with. Corey accommodated to my schedule, was very professional, and took the time to explain the electrical issues I was having. His 10+ years of experience shows through his knowledge, and his honesty is something much appreciated from a first time homeowner. Highly recommended, Perfected Electric Services will be my go-to for anything electrical for years to come.

I would not use A to Z Electric again.
They broke the lens on the porch light I had them install. They had agreed to install a timer on that light. Upon installation they claimed they didn't have on in their truck.
They also installed a ceiling fan and came up with additional excuses why they couldn't install a similar wall switch to the other ceiling fans we have in our house.
A to Z also moved our kitchen light. They drilled a hole in our ceiling without confirming whether we were o.k. with the position. I was sitting in the next room while they were working. They then lost the screws to our fixture.
The work was o.k. besides the fact that they didn't do exactly what they agreed to do in the quote. With so many other contractors out there it's not worth dealing with someone who doesn't take pride in their work.

Called for a big job, replacing kitchen and bathroom wiring. He was late to the quote and no-call, no-show for the actual work. I called him to ask how far away he was and he said he forgot about it and can he come the next day instead.
1236 N Central Ave Chicago, IL 60651
Came out the same day as contacted. Very courteous and friendly. The first tech didn't have equipment sufficient for the job. They were very quick to make a follow up appointment the next day to get the situation handled. Would recommend.
