Greg and Steve of Duplex Electric are great! I found a recommendation for them on next-door.com, and have since had them out to fix a few different issues. Both times I've called they have responded within hours to my voicemail messages and have come out that day or the next day. They first came out to replace a basement ceiling light. Through this they discovered that the switch was improperly wired. They explained clearly what the issue was, and fixed the switch and replaced the fixture quickly. The second time they came out to install two ceiling fixtures and to replace our kitchen outlets with GFCI outlets. Both times they explained to me clearly what the issues were, worked with safety precautions, arrived on time, and charged a reasonable amount. They are super professional, very knowledgeable, and on top of that were friendly with my crazy dogs - I will for sure call them the next time we need anything electrical fixed. We realized we needed an electrician on a Sunday and after reviewing our online options my husband called Prolite and spoke to the owner Jack. The next morning Matt came and replaced the bad breaker switch. Along with inside power being restored we now can open the garage door again.
We were very pleased with the service and the price. We would not hesitate to use them again if we need electrical work done.

I had central air conditioning installed today.  Three hours in and out. We are excited about our new Trane air conditioner.  The two workers Calib and Dan were professional and did a great job! Robert had been over earlier in the week for our estimate.  I am pleased and will use them again when I get a new furnace in the fall.Thanks guys!

Jeff came out to give a quote for some electrical work in my two bathrooms.  It was pretty simple stuff: four can lights on dimmer switches, low voltage LED lights, and a bathroom exhaust fan.  I was totally unimpressed by Jeff's knowledge as I was having to tell him how to do things (you'll need to cut this 2x4 and put in a 4 slot electrical box, you'll need to run a whip here and run a box here....).  Basically I had zero confidence that Jeff knew what he was doing.  Jeff also said he would send me a quote and he never got back to me.

First of all,  it's nice to deal with a company that actually answers the phone,  and doesn't let everything go to voicemail. I talked Charles on Friday,  and set up an appointment for Tuesday.  Alex was pleasant and efficient.  He very quickly replaced two 50+year old wall switches,  and addressed a couple of other concerns.  He was here and gone in 15 minutes.  I wouldn't hesitate to call Safe Electrical again.

Had some smart switches that needed to be installed that were a bit above my (admittedly minimal) expertise. David responded with a very reasonable quote right away - and showed up on time when he said he was going to a couple days later. He was professional and courteous - I would highly recommend for any household electrical needs!

How often do you need an electrician in a lifetime really, but when you do, you need someone who is reliable, punctual and honest on work you know nothing about, especially on short notice.
We were closing in on a house, and a few days before closing, the lender threw us a curb ball on 2 electrical outlets that needed to be fixed. All the other electrical companies my husband called, was either having to leave a message on a machine, or too busy and had to schedule after a few days. I found Gold Stream Electrical, through Yelp, & Mathew, the owner, took my call and after hearing our plight, rearranged his busy day schedule to accommodate us that early afternoon.
With our luck, I had my fingers crossed that this guy  would show up at all. Much to our surprise, he came right on time, addressed the issues in minutes. With time to kill, he went through the whole house giving us solid useful advice. Simple electrical fixes that can wait & be taken cared of  in the future. None of the moaning  and groaning, of how difficult and time extensive each job would take.

He even gave us a discount.

I am officially a fan, & my faith in electrical service personalities has peaked. I will definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

Mike and Bogdan explained the process and the steps they have to do in order to get the job done. Very careful around the house, clean and outstanding job overall

Had a great experience with Randal Electric. I'm selling my condos in Chicago and some very minor electrical work popped up on the home inspection report. I called a few different electricians on Yelp in the area and a lot hung up on me because my request was too small for them to set an appointment. I communicated with Randy what I needed to be done and he was confident that it would be a quick and easy fix, plus he'd be able to put me down for an appointment the next morning. Eddie was my electrician who was right on time this morning. He was polite and professional and after he was finished with the breaker he even asked if he could review the home inspection report to make sure everything needing an electricians attention was covered. I appreciate honest businesses in home services. While searching for electricians I ran across CR Electric and they tried to upsell me on an entire new panel a 4-6 hour job that would have been unnecessary and over the top. Eddie was able to make the breaker safe and eliminate the double tap breaker installed by a 10+ year old alarm system company that I never used in 7 years of owning the property. I'm glad I called Randal Electric and if I need electricians for the next 4 condos about to go on the market I know who I'll be calling!

We had a potentially large electric problem with some lines from our house to our garage.  They were old, frayed and hanging low.  It was easy to set up getting a quote from Edwin though the Yelp site.  He responded very quickly and arrived on time at the appointed time.  He diagnosed the problem and provided a quote via email.  I accepted his proposal and he let me know when he was available to come and do the work.

He arrived on time, on the scheduled day.  It was a big job which included taking down the old wiring and, digging a trench and sending all new wiring out to the detached garage.  Since the home and garage are both over 100 years old, diagnosing our wiring is like a million piece jigsaw puzzle. Edwin did a great job and everything works great!  He even did a great job to not disturb the landscaping.  You can't even tell that there was a trench dug.

Highly recommend!

I've used Homer on a couple different occasions to update wiring in an old building. He is extremely responsive, always on time, and you can tell he knows what he's doing. We've been very happy with his work and will use him again in the future.

I bought a new dishwasher and when it was delivered, we found that the electrical from original install was positioned (incorrectly) in such a way that we couldn't get the old dishwasher out or get a new dishwasher in.  Handico was the cheaper of the two estimates that we got (by a lot), and Andy came out and did a great job moving and re-routing the electrical and installing the new dishwasher.  He was friendly and efficient, and the final price was actually lower than the estimate.  The dishwasher is working great!  We will definitely use Handico again.

Corey and his team installed an overhead light in my bedroom and did wonderfully. He provided me with a honest quote and came to provide the service promptly. I will definitely call Perfected Electric for future needs!

The first snow of the year was very heavy.  Add to that there still being leaves on trees and you have a weighted disaster just waiting to happen.  As what happened to me.  Our lovely neighbor's rather large tree branch snapped off taking with it our power lines and electric box.  It proceeded to land and break our fence.  Power lines were exposed and therefore deemed unsafe.  Electricity was to be shut off immediately by Comed.  We would need an electrician to fix said box and line.  Apparently this was happening all over the neighborhood, so electricians were in high demand even as I proceeded to call local ones recommended to me by Yelp.  No answers or not available were my results.  That is, until one referred A to Z.  They sent out a nice gentleman by the name of Barry and he was there within three hours of my calling.  He was very courteous and professional.  I'm unsure how his rate compared to others, but desperate calls call for desperate measures.  We already knew we would have to use our insurance deductible to get everything fixed so after consulting with our insurance and receiving their approval we hired them.  They were supposed to come later that afternoon, but the electrician got stuck on the South side.  We were to then spend a fabulous night before Halloween with no heat or electric until he was to come the next morning.  This wasn't their fault, but for a pretty penny I was hoping they would still arrive as soon as they could that day.  At any rate, the next morning 3 staff members arrived and got to work.  I missed my daughter's Halloween party while they were here, but so be it.  Electricity was needed.  One of their staff seemed a little strange, but the other two were sweet enough.  My power was eventually restored and Halloween went on as planned.  I really wished I didn't have to deal with A to Z, but that's what happens in an emergency.

Angel is the man! I called him around 2:30PM to have 4 light fixtures replaced in the stairwells of my house (high ceilings). I explained to him the urgency of having these replaced and he told me he could be there by 5:30 later that day. He actually showed up an hour early (4:30PM) and was done within 3 hours.

I highly recommend Angel, will be calling him back for future projects.

I was having an issue with the exhaust fan in my bathroom. The fixer handyman came out exactly on time and was so incredibly kind and helpful. He answered all of my questions and was very professional. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again!
