Best Electricians in Illinois

I needed some electrical work done for a kitchen remodel and called Howard Simons from a recommendation by a friend. Not only did he perform the work in a timely, professional manner--he found a serious problem in wiring done by a previous electrician.

Howard is now my go-to guy for any electrical work on my house.

This is the 3rd time we've used them, and as always, we have no complaints.  

They arrived when they said they would and did good work. The electrician who showed up was courteous and friendly.

Goran arrived on time, identified and addressed the issue while on site, and had the best rates of anyone we found in our service area. Two thumbs up!

His knowledge of his business is a great asset and comfort. He does what is best for his clients, not his pockets. His rates are competitive and he goes above and beyond the call of duty. On a personal level, Frank has worked on several electrical projects for us in multiple homes and we are completely satisfied every time!

Scott responded quickly and with a very reasonable quote. Arrived on time, did an excellent job. Definitely recommend these guys!

We give Mike and MPG Electric 5 stars with no reservation. His work is thorough, accurate, neat, promptly completed at a fair price. He has done several smallish projects for us in the past few years. The most recent was installing new under-cabinet LED lights and a ceiling pendant in the kitchen -- life changing -- so bright! And the peace of mind in knowing that the job was done right.

One of the best electricians in the area, won't charge an arm & leg like the competitors. He installed new lights in my living, mounted my flatscreen & installed two ceiling fans. He is extremely knowledgeable and very timely. All services were done very quickly with no issues.

First, I am surprised there are not more reviews for this business as they are awesome. I've dealt with lots of contractors, and I am the go to phone call for my entire family and wife's family when there are problems or construction needs in the home. Penco is my first and only phone call for electricians, and I have dealt with lots before.

They are super courteous, on time, in communication, competitive on their pricing, and capable of all levels of work. I have had small issues from fixture installs, to the build out of my dad's basement, to fixing a wiring mess at a bar I managed.

I've referred Penco to many people all of whom have taken the time to thank me for the referral. They are making me look like a rockstar. I encourage you to give them a call for anything electrical. Paul the owner is the type of businessman that people need to know about.

Having read other reviews stating that contractors arrived to the job without the appropriate supplies, I was certain to ask Christian beforehand if his crew would like to see the job in person versus photos...he declined. Seeing as they charge by the hour...I'm going to need them to arrive to my job 100% prepared and ready to complete it in a timely manner.  I was informed that I was welcome to cancel and shop elsewhere. Thank you sir...that's exactly what I will be doing. Quality work is important, but so is top-notch customer service and gaining/maintaining trust. Their response time was also not the best. Two stars however for the small bit of effort that was given.

Update: Sadly their professional response to this post was neither short or factual (as promised) and I have the email trail to back that up. The bottom line is there are better suited businesses out there for customers like me who request quotes because we want complete transparency...and then there are others ok with your oke doke response of we don't provide solid quotes... - Glad you never step foot on the job as well. Absolutely the best electricians my family has ever used. Carlos Sr. and Jr. came to our aid like electric genies when our garage lost its electrical power. Seems our landscaper accidentally diced it when planting a tree. They spent about six hour replacing the line and enclosed it in metal. They did this as a precaution for future overzealous  shovelers.   They also replanted my plants after they were done. Was so thrilled at the end of the day, I hired them to do another job. A week later, I have new recessed lights in my basement ceiling. Excellent work, did exactly as was discussed. Fairly priced, honest, and reliable. Guess I must have won the  best electrical contractor lottery!

We made an appointment for an estimate and nobody showed up. I called and only received voicemail and nobody returned my calls. Based upon other more positive reviews, I was disappointed in the unprofessional treatment.

We were having a problem with a breaker tripping and our regular electrician was out of town.  I was told the service call would be $49 plus parts.  Eddie came out and said it would be $266 to diagnose the problem which consisted of him feeling outlets to see if they felt warm.  He was not able to find a problem and I had to pay $266.  My regular electrician came out and was able to locate and correct the problem immediately.  Thanks for nothing Mr. Mighty!

I live in a very old apartment building (about 125 yrs old) and I was in need of getting two closet lights fixed.  I found Dosie Electric here on Yelp (who was nearby my residence) and called to request help.  Mr. Dosie explained his pricing and set up a date to come out.  This man is very prompt and very professional.  He had to get some parts for the job and was able to come back the next day and was able to use my existing fixtures which saved me money.  He will not sell you what you don't need...he does only what is necessary and it's very important to me because we know how expensive an electrician can be.  It's wonderful to have somebody who is old school and won't try to rip you off. His prices are VERY reasonable and I cannot say enough about Mr. Dosie.....I will definitely keep him in mind if I have any other electrical work that needs to be done.  I highly recommend him!

I couldn't be happier with the service provided by this company. Tom was incredibly responsive and had his team on the job the same day I contacted them...a real blessing after all the problems I have had with my contractor. They did an exceptional job and were a joy to have in my home...even my cat loved them! They were professional, conscientious, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. I will definitely have them back and I would recommend them to anyone.
