I hired Howard after reading all the wonderful reviews here.  They are all true.  Howard was prompt, courteous and professional.  The work he did in my condo was finished quickly and I was charged a very fair rate.

A Reliable Electrician

We had a long-standing problem with some puck lights. Michael Gordon from MPG Electric was the third electrician to look at these lights. He was the first one to look into every aspect of the situation. He found several technical problems with the original installation. Why the previous electricians missed the obvious, we'll never know. Michael fixed what he could with the spare parts we had lying around. Then he left with a list of replacement parts he would need to get the job done properly. A week or so later, he returned and put everything in order. For the first time, we have lights that work. I expect that they will continue to work for years in the future.

I was referred to Michael by Crest Lighting, a very reliable source. He is a properly licensed and insured electrician. He arrived on time, despite the difficult parking situation in Lincoln Park. When he finished, we were satisfied to the point that I gave Michael's business card to our property manager. We live in a 40 story high rise. A lot of us need electricians from time to time. I would recommend Michael Gordon to anyone who needs a reliable electrician

We had 3 outdoor GFCI that needed to be replaced. We compared quotes from multiple contractors. MJP sounds most reasonable as he agreed to a fixed rate. Once Marcin arrived, we found that one of GFCI outlet is actually having two outlets and that means total of 4. Marcin did not charge extra. In fact, he replaced GFCI covers for free. It felt like Santa gave us a visit a little too early this year. Thanks a lot for your help. We appreciate your help and your honesty and kindness.

I use Penco for annual maintenance of my Generac generator.  They are very knowledgeable, courteous and reasonable.  Great company to work with.

*Cross posted* I thought I hit the jackpot with The Good Guys. To be fair, they do great work. Unfortunately at this point, a few minor issues have now boiled up to them not finishing work and ceasing communications for something that would realistically take at most 1-2 hours to finish, even though they have been paid in full. I should have read the other reviews that said they did not follow up on to drive jobs to completion. Unfortunately these guys do take significant time to get tasks done and promise to come back to varying results. I contacted Chris about two months back and was led to believe work a few tasks I needed done could be done quickly. Here I am two months later with most done, but an incomplete stair rail. Please be warned DO NOT pay them until ALL work is completed, otherwise you will contact them with no luck to finish the job. They really work on their own clock without much regard to your schedule. They showed up multiple times way after they told me they would and then upon arrival had to quickly leave and do a store run, meaning no work really started until several hours after start time. Once they came back late in the evening without notice to lock my garage, alarming me at dusk and prompting me to call police because my alarm was triggered. Like I said, these guys do great work, but please make sure you are not in a rush and only pay upon adequate completion of ALL work, not just when they are at a stopping point.

The team that showed up was professional, upfront with pricing, and got immediately to work. I have an older home and they noticed a few issues (some bigger than others) but weren't overly dramatic about them. I've found living in an older home, professionals tend to freak out whenever they're confronted by something that isn't by the modern book. They quickly fixed what I asked for and gave me straightforward advice on how to, eventually, handle the other matters. They were early but called to confirm that was okay. Overall, very good service and will absolutely recommend and use again.

We called for an electrical short that kept setting off the circuit breaker. After 4 days of dealing with another company that had a different story everyday. We called Sam and he solved our problem in a couple of hours for a reasonable price.
He knows his electricity very well.
I would recommend him for any electrical work needed.
He is now our go to guy.

Not happy at all with the service.  Tech came out and inflated the problems I was asking him to fix. charged over $300 for a short inspection plus $49 service call.  Emailed a ridiculous proposal for work. When I called to ask about it he came back and no solution was agreed upon. I asked if he job could be done a little cheaper and they never called back to discuss. Forget it.

I've now used Dosie Electric Service twice in two months and they have done an outstanding job each time. On time, professional, courteous and sticklers for perfection. They make a point of keeping you involved throughout the entire process to ensure your satisfaction. Kenneth is wonderful! I have no need to look elsewhere when it comes to electrical work in my homes!

I couldn't be happier with the service provided by this company. Tom was incredibly responsive and had his team on the job the same day I contacted them...a real blessing after all the problems I have had with my contractor. They did an exceptional job and were a joy to have in my home...even my cat loved them! They were professional, conscientious, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. I will definitely have them back and I would recommend them to anyone.
