Five stars to North Shore Electric for integrity and good customer service! I recently purchased a ceiling fan for my home, expecting a contractor to install the fan. Unfortunately, the member of the contractors' staff who was supposed install the fan had a family emergency so was unable to do the job. Then, I spotted a North Shore Electric truck at a neighbor's house. I asked the electrician if he could install the fan. He quickly came over and worked diligently to install the fan. Unfortunately, after several attempts -- and quite a bit of effort on electrician's part -- it became apparent that a wiring issue in my nearly 100-year-old home made it impossible for the fan to function properly. The electrician, who was hard-working, neat and courteous, and helped me identify some possible approaches to rewire the house - but didn't charge me for the failed attempt at installation. I would definitely call North Shore Electric for help on a future project and happily pay them for successful work. I recommend North Shore Electric.

We hired Goran to correct some code violations in my mom's older home, replacing outlets with 3-prong and GFCI and adding some additional outlets in the garage. The same day I called he came and did a free estimate. His work was quick and efficient and he did not charge more than his original estimate even though I had under counted the number of outlets that needed replacing. He is easy to work with and we thought his work was excellent. We are going to need more work done and will definitely be calling him. You will not go wrong by hiring Goran.

While I didn't use Scott's services this time, he was very helpful in responding to my Yelp request for a quote and made the process for scheduling an estimate very easy. Compared to other contractors who just tell you to call (which I don't want to do, I mean I'm on Yelp specifically NOT to call a bunch of companies), it was a breath of fresh air to have a proactive guy reach out and get things set up. I will definitely consider Scott Nelson Electric in the future for my electrical needs.

A Reliable Electrician

We had a long-standing problem with some puck lights. Michael Gordon from MPG Electric was the third electrician to look at these lights. He was the first one to look into every aspect of the situation. He found several technical problems with the original installation. Why the previous electricians missed the obvious, we'll never know. Michael fixed what he could with the spare parts we had lying around. Then he left with a list of replacement parts he would need to get the job done properly. A week or so later, he returned and put everything in order. For the first time, we have lights that work. I expect that they will continue to work for years in the future.

I was referred to Michael by Crest Lighting, a very reliable source. He is a properly licensed and insured electrician. He arrived on time, despite the difficult parking situation in Lincoln Park. When he finished, we were satisfied to the point that I gave Michael's business card to our property manager. We live in a 40 story high rise. A lot of us need electricians from time to time. I would recommend Michael Gordon to anyone who needs a reliable electrician

MJP Electric installed can lights and a chandelier in our house. He offered great service, great pricing, and exceptional work! I will be hiring him for all of my electrical work in the future.

I wanted a whole home standby generator installed and called Penco and Paul owner answered right away, always a good sign!

His manager Justin came out to give me an estimate that day and I had my generator installed 2 days later.

I have worked with many different contractors over the years and even played general contractor on my own home.  They are one of the best contractors I have ever worked with.  3 great guys work as a team to get the job done within a day. Punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and they clean up everything when they're done.

I searched high and low for a reputable handyman with great reviews and that's when I came across The Good Guys.  Chris was very responsive and as busy as his team was he was VERY accommodating to my schedule.  I dealt with Jaime and I made it very clear to Jaime I'm super picky and I was that annoying customer when it came to work being done around the house.  I had a very traumatic experience over the summer with a different crew so although it was a simple drywall patch, I wanted to make sure it was done clean.  Jaime smiled at me and repeatedly made me feel at ease as he walked me through all the steps.  Now... the icing on the cake.... when he was done he made sure to get me and looked at what he fixed and asked ma'am are you satisfied with my work?  WOW! I don't think any worker has ever asked me to review what they did before they left.  I will absolutely, positively recommend this professional and great group of guys!

Absolutely the best electricians my family has ever used. Carlos Sr. and Jr. came to our aid like electric genies when our garage lost its electrical power. Seems our landscaper accidentally diced it when planting a tree. They spent about six hour replacing the line and enclosed it in metal. They did this as a precaution for future overzealous  shovelers.   They also replanted my plants after they were done. Was so thrilled at the end of the day, I hired them to do another job. A week later, I have new recessed lights in my basement ceiling. Excellent work, did exactly as was discussed. Fairly priced, honest, and reliable. Guess I must have won the  best electrical contractor lottery!

We made an appointment for an estimate and nobody showed up. I called and only received voicemail and nobody returned my calls. Based upon other more positive reviews, I was disappointed in the unprofessional treatment.

I sent a request through Yelp for a service appointment. I had some general questions and they rep was polite. I had a lot of questions about the service since I am a new homeowner.

The technician only took approximately 45 minutes to make it to my home. He was very polite and took the time to explain all of the details with the service. In total my service was $169 for travel and to clean a flame sensor. It is not bad in comparison to some of the other quotes I was given.

Immediate, no-nonsense service. I didn't even leave a message--Ken called me back just because his phone showed that someone had called. An hour later, he was at my house diagnosing my problem. Will definitely use again.

Very fair pricing and prompt, efficient service.  The owner, Tom Peck, is great to deal with.  He does a great job in a fast and efficient manner.
