Patch job was much easier than I had anticipated, so my 3-star rating was a bit low.

Five stars to North Shore Electric for integrity and good customer service! I recently purchased a ceiling fan for my home, expecting a contractor to install the fan. Unfortunately, the member of the contractors' staff who was supposed install the fan had a family emergency so was unable to do the job. Then, I spotted a North Shore Electric truck at a neighbor's house. I asked the electrician if he could install the fan. He quickly came over and worked diligently to install the fan. Unfortunately, after several attempts -- and quite a bit of effort on electrician's part -- it became apparent that a wiring issue in my nearly 100-year-old home made it impossible for the fan to function properly. The electrician, who was hard-working, neat and courteous, and helped me identify some possible approaches to rewire the house - but didn't charge me for the failed attempt at installation. I would definitely call North Shore Electric for help on a future project and happily pay them for successful work. I recommend North Shore Electric.

We hired Goran to correct some code violations in my mom's older home, replacing outlets with 3-prong and GFCI and adding some additional outlets in the garage. The same day I called he came and did a free estimate. His work was quick and efficient and he did not charge more than his original estimate even though I had under counted the number of outlets that needed replacing. He is easy to work with and we thought his work was excellent. We are going to need more work done and will definitely be calling him. You will not go wrong by hiring Goran.

I am a huge fan of Small Tyme Electric. I manage a few properties throughout Chicago and I have used them every time i needed anything done. Wether it's some minor updates or a complete remodel. Norh Is an amazing person. Such a pleasure to work with. I always have the worst luck when it comes to contractors so when I find a good one I hold on and don't let go. I'm willing to share with you as I want to keep him working for years to come so he's always there when I need him!

Adrian Electrical Contractors responded promptly.  I contacted them after an electrical issue late in the evening.  Someone answered and found an electrician who could come out and help within an hour.  Our problem was fixed in no time.  Our contractor, John, was courteous and the price was just right!  Thanks again Adrian Electrical Contractors!  I will definitely use them again if a need arises!

All around great experience. Scott called back quickly and set good expectations about when we could expect them. They were able to come out quickly to handle this small job. Miguel was the electrician and he was great! He was very friendly and took care of the issue quickly.

A Reliable Electrician

We had a long-standing problem with some puck lights. Michael Gordon from MPG Electric was the third electrician to look at these lights. He was the first one to look into every aspect of the situation. He found several technical problems with the original installation. Why the previous electricians missed the obvious, we'll never know. Michael fixed what he could with the spare parts we had lying around. Then he left with a list of replacement parts he would need to get the job done properly. A week or so later, he returned and put everything in order. For the first time, we have lights that work. I expect that they will continue to work for years in the future.

I was referred to Michael by Crest Lighting, a very reliable source. He is a properly licensed and insured electrician. He arrived on time, despite the difficult parking situation in Lincoln Park. When he finished, we were satisfied to the point that I gave Michael's business card to our property manager. We live in a 40 story high rise. A lot of us need electricians from time to time. I would recommend Michael Gordon to anyone who needs a reliable electrician

Honest. Good in Troubleshooting.

He corrected the ground and open neutral on multiple sockets. Then installed self grounded GFCI outlets on all.

I got the parts in advance, replaced some 10 outlets and added wall plates on my own. The remaining 20 outlets are rusted, and some even broke when i tried to remove it. So i hired the electrician.

I purchased plenty of outlets and confirmed that they are the right ones prior to appointment. The wall plates, i installed them myself once the electrician installed the sockets.

Amazing customer service.  I got a whole house standby generator installed.  Paul was very friendly and walked me through the process and answered my many questions.  The installation team was very professional and did a great job with the installation and any follow-up questions.  I highly recommend Penco.

Can't say enough great things about Chris at C&E Handyman! We first met Chris a year ago when we were readying our home to sell (after seeing his positive reviews on Yelp).
We are so lucky we made the call! Chris and his team visited our home and helped us conquer tedious projects, such as replacing light fixtures, patching and repairing walls, painting, and more.

His team did an amazing job, going above and beyond our expectations!  They were fast, efficient, and so considerate with our belongings. Their attention to detail was superior, and we were equally as impressed with how wonderfully tidy the team kept work areas!

Beyond pure skill level, it is Chris' friendly personality and demeanor that made the experience really enjoyable. We have since purchased a new condo and have already called upon Chris to make this house a personalized home. We are currently working with Chris and the C&E team to make updates to our kitchen! We made an appointment for an estimate and nobody showed up. I called and only received voicemail and nobody returned my calls. Based upon other more positive reviews, I was disappointed in the unprofessional treatment.

Job done, but expensive
We had some flickering lights at all hours of the day, so we called mr. mighty.
They got someone out here quickly, which was nice.  
The first day it cost 369 bucks to come out and inspect our panel and the service disconnects and the meter box - about 45 minutes or so.
We scheduled saturday to replace the disconnects for the two units. He didn't show up and called an hour afterwards apologizing.  Re-scheduled for later the next week.  and he replaced them - 550 dollars.
He noticed the voltage wasn't right, so he called comed because he thought there was a problem with the incoming neutral.  Comed came out and said the busbars in the meter box needed to be replaced.  Our appliances were starting to fail because of the bad neutral, so i called them back and said come take care of it.  842 dollars.

The job was completed, but I wish he had acted on the meter box that first day after seeing such corrosion. Probably could have saved 550 bucks

Immediate, no-nonsense service. I didn't even leave a message--Ken called me back just because his phone showed that someone had called. An hour later, he was at my house diagnosing my problem. Will definitely use again.

I couldn't be happier with the service provided by this company. Tom was incredibly responsive and had his team on the job the same day I contacted them...a real blessing after all the problems I have had with my contractor. They did an exceptional job and were a joy to have in my home...even my cat loved them! They were professional, conscientious, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. I will definitely have them back and I would recommend them to anyone.
