The real test for getting an electrician is when you have a small job, not a large one. I had a small job - change flourescent lights to LED. I called four electricians. Two didn't return my call and one didn't seem very interested but did submit me a bid that seemed overpriced. Tari Electric returned my call within a few hours and came out on the next business day, did the work I needed and submitted a very reasonable bill. He was also a very nice guy and I was pleased to see that he's teaching his son and another young guy the trade. I will definitely call him again whenever I need an electrician for another job, small or large.

Roman from Penguin Electric was just out our house this morning fixing some faulty outlets.  He was fast, friendly and VERY reasonably priced.  We recommend him 110%.

Today we had both Eric and Joshua coming to our home. They came right on time and fixed our electric issue in our kitchen in less than 20 min. I give them score of 20 out of 20. They were both real gentlemen and easy to talk and work with.

These guys do great, reliable work. I needed a 240V outlet installed in my garage so I could charge my EV and the process could not have gone more smoothly. I had an idea where to put the outlet but they came up with a better solution, even though it was more work for them - which they didn't charge me extra for. That is what I call quality service. They were in and out and even called a few days later to make sure everything was working properly. The quality of their work is first-rate and if I ever need *any* electrical work done to my home, these guys will be my first call. Highly recommend.

James is one of the most conscientious contractors with whom I have ever dealt. He responded to my call right away, promptly came to look at the work I wanted done, arrived on time to do the work, did the work in a very professional manner, and charged what he said he would charge. Chuck is a great guy who really cares about his clients.  I called for a problem that my tenants were having with an electrical outlet.  He advised on testing to do to see if the problem could be resolved without a visit.  I knew then that I could trust him.  He talked me through all of the possibilities and explained everything clearly and succinctly.  Within 2 hours, he made his way to my home and addressed the problem.  Follow-up text, call, and detailed invoice within 1 hour of the visit.  So easy. Thank you, Yelp!   We just purchased a 60 year old home in San Jose.   One of the most important things on our safety checklist with buying an older home was to have a licensed electrician take a look at what we had and make any recommendations on what we needed to do.  Luckily, my boss had found California Power & Lights on Yelp and recommended them to me.   California Power & Lights had such great reviews and is Diamond Certified so it was a no brainer for us.  No need to look any further.  Henry came out for an estimate the day after I contacted him and we were able to schedule the work the same week.    Henry's crew (Doug and Mike) was professional, courteous, and polite...they did a great job, used quality material, cleaned up after themselves, and completed the work in a timely manner.  Henry visited the job site both days his team was at our home and rolled up his sleeves when it came time to troubleshoot some issues.  Henry did not leave my home until I was completely satisfied - all switches and outlets tested and all questions and concerns were answered.   Their pricing was reasonable for the quality of work I received and the final invoice amount was exactly what we agreed upon.   I will definitely be calling California Power & Lights again for help with any electrical needs and recommending them to any family and friends who are in need of electrical work.

My wife and I first met David Bertsch about 20 years ago, when he served as the electrical subcontractor for a pool that we put in.   He has continued to help us with pool-related electrical work from time to time, including a new control panel that he installed for us a few years ago.  In addition, he has done a number of other electrical jobs for us, such as installing a whole-house fan, a chandelier, kitchen lights, and lights on the front and back sides of our house.  

David is an excellent electrician.  He thinks about what he's going to do before plunging ahead, and he's very careful to avoid damaging walls etc.  Today I asked him to install two 3-way switches on the opposite sides of my garage, so that the main garage light could be operated from either entrance.  I had assumed that he would simply run new conduit across the garage, but instead he found a way to make this work by snaking wires between 6 different existing electric boxes, using existing conduit.  Some of these boxes were hidden inside cabinets, and this was a highly complex job, requiring a lot of thought and patience.  Although I believed he could do it, I was delighted to see that, when he finally turned the power back on, the two switches worked perfectly the first time!  

David is a warm, trust-worthy human being, and his prices are very fair.  We recommend him highly.

We contacted Yong because our kitchen circuit breaker was getting tripped. We told him the details and sent pictures via Yelp. He saw that the circuit breaking was expected because we were just drawing too much power with our appliances. Other electricians wanted to charge us $100 or more to come out to the house just for a diagnostic. We'll be calling LHP for our electrical needs in the future.

They say in construction it's about time, cost and quality - you get to choose two.  Somehow with Safety First you'll be getting all three!  Ronnie came to my house to give me a quote for a new EV home charger and the rest was history.  He walked me through the process and was able to explain complex electrical concepts so that they made sense and I was able to make informed decisions about how to proceed.  After careful decision making, Ronnie and I agreed that a panel upgrade made the most sense for my aging home.  He was also able to help install an additional 220 outlet that will now allow me to move my dryer away from natural gas and make the most of my solar.  He was also able to install BEAUTIFUL recessed lighting throughout our home, something that had previously be a low point of our home's aesthetics.  Finally, Ronnie was able to install a gorgeous chandelier over our kitchen table that utilizes stunning Edison bulbs.  I seriously feel like I live in a brand new home thanks to Safety First!

I asked SM to help me replace a light fixture. Their team arrived on time and they were able to rapidly install the light fixture for me. It works like a charm and I'm happy I hired SM!

I called ELS Electric this morning because our oven keeps tripping the breaker and this last time we smelled some burning near the electrical panel. Larry returned my call within 10 mins and after discussion the issue he said he would be over in a few hours.

They checked both the main panel and sub panel, tightened a connection and determined that both panels looked fine. They did find that one of the two hot lines to the oven was drawing more current than the other, and that it was possible a problem with the oven it's self, or there was a problem on PG&E's end outside the house (which was likely because we do get some dimming of lights in the house). We agreed that he should replace the breaker to be on the safe side and that then we would know for sure that wasn't the problem. It wasn't the breaker. Larry suggested that I call PG&E before calling an appliance repair person and even wrote down some notes for me on what he learned so I could give the information to PG&E and/or the appliance person.

A short time later PG&E showed up, he looked over then notes and we talked about everything Larry had done and told me. Sure enough he found the connections in the box in the ground our front yard were badly corroded, and in fact that the technology was very old and should be replaced and put in an work order to replace them. The corrosion was so bad he was unable to clean them and a crew will be out in the morning.

Larry worked hard to find a solution to my problem without breaking my bank and I really appreciate that. Both Larry and Dan were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They spent more time than the one hour service call but only charged me for that one service call plus the cost of the breaker. My husband has been feeling like we need to upgrade our electrical panel and Larry assured me that although he would love to take my money we really do not need to upgrade our panel. The work would be costly and it really is not necessary (the PG&E technician also agreed with this assessment). So, add trustworthy to the list.

If and when I have a need for an electrician in the future I will be calling ELS Electric!
