Main Man should be your first choice if faced with a large water main / sewer job.
We had the unfortunate pleasure of having a pipe break in the street, and as the home owner ,we were on the hook to repair.

After calling 4 contractors, we were quoted some outrageously high prices. 2 contractors flat out lied to me about the types of pipe I had in my home, trying to scare me into replacing pipes that were fine, but would pad the job .

Irwin from Main Man showed up and straight away debunked what the last contractor told me (I already knew I was lied to, but was impressed Irwin didn't perpetuate the lie - ( he could have to score himself a larger job)

He quoted me a price that was $2500. LOWER than the last guy, and was going to do it in 1/2 the time. I was skeptical, because his price was so reasonable, I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

But I was pleasantly surprised.

Irwin sat with me, and walked me through the contract, and really just made me feel at ease, in a time when I was besides myself because of the situation.

The next day Main Main's workers showed up, on time and in good spirits - They got to work promptly, and worked cleanly. In under 3 hours the job was done, and the workers assured me the final steps would be completed in a weeks time. 4 days later the final concrete was laid and I couldn't be happier.

Akeim is professional, knowledgeable and efficient.  When the kitchen faucet in my tenant apartment broke, from the pictures of the damage he was able to assess quickly that I needed to do a replacement instead of a repair and advised objectively on the type of faucet I should get.  Once obtained, he installed it quickly for a reasonable price.  I was very pleased with his work and look forward to working with him on future projects.

Robert  provides a consultative service - meaning, he doesn't just give you one answer to solve your issue. If there are options, he will lay out all your options and clearly delineate what's involved and when/why to go one route over another.  And he will also give you his honest opinion about what he thinks you should do even if it's the least costly. He quote fair prices and one is comfortable with his work and solutions.

Reason Robert doesn't get 5 stars is b/c when he seemingly gets busy, he doesn't return calls - even to say he can't take the work...which is what professional thing to do.  So while I was happy with work Robert did and his feedback was truly valuable when deciding on course of work and solutions.   What was disappointing was the follow up and eventual drop off when he got busy.

We had to get our kitchen faucet replaced, due to a leak. We sent him a video, and he was able to diagnose the problem and get a technician out right away to help us get the problem fixed.

Patrick from his team came out and was nice, pleasant and a total pro, who explained to us what he was doing, since me and my fiancé would like to be able to fix a similar problem should it happen in the future. Great professional service. Will absolutely use again when needed.

I'm always a little leery when a check out contractors and just see 5 star reviews.  Well, with Platinum Plumbing, don't be.  I noticed my 15 year water heater was showing corrosion and rust stains on the tank.  So, I started calling plumbing outfits.  First one I called, I spoke to someone who said they would call back by the end of the day.  They did not return the call.  Next day, I called a larger outfit, woman seemed overwhelmed, as I could hear phones ringing in background.  She gave me a rough estimate, and then said earliest appointment would be mid July.  I then called Platinum.  James returned my call within the hour.  He took my info and called back in 10 minutes later to give give estimate and choice of water heaters.  He was able to fit me the next day in the afternoon.  Job went smoothly, as he and his partner Pete were done within two hours.  The price was reasonable, they left the place spotless, and carted off the old heater. To boot, they are genuinely both nice guys, who took time to explain water heater options and answer all my questions,   I would without a doubt recommend them for water heater replacement.

Extremely flexible to our schedule, came out on a Saturday morning.  Quickly repaired shower and reasonable cost. Will use this company again!

I have relied on Colin's plumbing skills for the last two years.  He is an excellent plumber, reasonably priced, and cleans up after each project.  He communicated how long it will take and how much it will likely cost.  He is a friendly Irish-American you can count on.

We had an issue with a leak at our restaurant. No one was available.  When we called and spoke to the owner, not only did he make sure to get someone out right away. He followed up after to make sure we were taken care of.

We reached out to Samir after purchasing our home to handle the installation of numerous electrical work as well as interior painting of the entire home. He was extremely responsive and flexible via text / email. He came the following day, took a tour of our new home, and gave us a very fair estimate of the project and time frame to complete. We quickly agreed and he started the very next week. Insurance was provided. He also gave us a great discount on painting materials which saved us a lot of money on our end.

He came at 9am every day on time and concluded work at 5pm. He gave us a project deadlines that he followed and was able to finish the work he promised to do in that time frame.

Installation of multiple outlets was completed within 1 day.

3 floors - all walls/closets/doors. Each floor averaging about 2 days completion.

His team varied per day, but Samir overlooked the entire project and managed his team and their work. If he was unsatisfied with the quality of work, he would make amends. He is very hands on and even helped us other things that were not initially included in the quote such as installing a very heavy chandelier. He also provided a snake to clear a clog in our plumbing. Overall, Samir is a very knowledgeable contractor who knows a bit of everything.

Payment was given via Venmo after completion of work.

I called after hours and left a voicemail giving details and asking for a call back (I didn't call the optional emergency number offered, since it wasn't an emergency). I got a call back early the next morning, as requested. They are located only a few blocks from me, and instead of making an appointment they were able to send a guy over within 10-15 mins, even though I was willing to arrange something for later (awesome), so I could still get to work that morning and not worry about coming home early. My issue was a very simple clogged toilet, he brought a snake, and he was in and out in 15 minutes since it was easy enough that I probably could have taken care of it myself but wanted to have called a plumber in order to demonstrate to my insurance that I was doing my due diligence. He made sure to double check that the flush was functioning before leaving and was super friendly and professional. On the phone, I was quoted $150-$175 depending on the difficulty of the job, and the guy who came diligently called after he was done to confirm pricing, including mentioning that it was very easy and not to enforce the upper end of their quote, which I appreciated. As quoted, cost was $150 (cash or check only, but tax excluded so ended up being $164), and he gave me a receipt without me asking for it which I appreciate when a business is cash only. I would have loved a slightly lower price considering how easy the job was and that I was flexible on timing, but these guys had the snake and did the job, and I did not, and we live in NYC where rent is definitely not free, especially for businesses. I felt as though this was in line with local pricing, but not a steal, which is totally fine. I think I could have found a (slightly) cheaper price for the job, but based on what I've read only by about $25 and it may have taken a few days, and I like hiring local because I want that kind of neighborhood. These guys did exactly what they said they would for exactly the price that they quoted me, which is all you can ask for. Can't offer info regarding more complicated work, but I got an excellent response time and good feeling from them and would definitely recommend them for a simple job, and would consider them for something more serious. One afternoon I was walking by and realize they sell Girl Scout cookies. Well, I don't need a single plumbing supply but  I was happy to find cookies. We had a sewer problem while I was away and I was convinced it was a pipe breach this time.  Oscar responded first thing the following morning and immediately diagnosed the problem as blockage in a certain spot.  It was fixed very quickly and Oscar gave good advice as to how to address it longer term.  The cost was very reasonable compared to other service providers in my experience.  Oscar was very professional and friendly. I expect to call him back in shortly for more work, so I will be a repeat customer.  Oscar's the best!

Bought a portable dishwasher, and the device that connects to the sink didn't seem to fit my sink. I went to AE on the recommendation of a local hardware store that wasn't able to help me out.

Turns out, I wasn't doing it the right way and it did fit. They helped me out free of charge, despite the fact that I was a retail client instead of a contractor, who seem to be their typical customers. I appreciated the honesty and quick service!
