I HIGHLY recommend Main Man. We had a sprinkler company in to turn on our system. They broke the valve which turns the water off and on and then high tailed it out of here when they realized that the also couldn't locate the main water valve in the street to turn the water off. We called a few people and one company who has multiple yelp positive reviews said we would need to open up the street and change all the pipes as well as replacing the main pipe in the house. They said they would have to rip up our blue stone and would not be responsible for any damages. They also said it would take 2 days and cost nearly $14,000. We called Scott at Main Man and he called us immediately. He came in SAVED the day. He did his homework and knew exactly where the main outside valve was. He told us the pipes outside were fine and did not need replacing. He turned off the water, changed the inside pipe and was out of here in 4 hours for less then  half of what the other company quoted us. If you want someone who is super honest, fast and a PRO. . Akeim is professional, knowledgeable and efficient.  When the kitchen faucet in my tenant apartment broke, from the pictures of the damage he was able to assess quickly that I needed to do a replacement instead of a repair and advised objectively on the type of faucet I should get.  Once obtained, he installed it quickly for a reasonable price.  I was very pleased with his work and look forward to working with him on future projects.

It was a basic leak. The hot water valve was broken. That's all. These guys tried to make it seem more complicated than it was. Told me they had to smash the wall and completely put in new components. Quoted me at $3150..give me a break. The free consultation is the trap they lay to get you to trust them...

Eddie has and will remain my buildings plumber of choice. Nice guy, transparent and more importantly communicative. Last job was running late due to an issue with another customers job but called to update me on his time. Things happen, and making sure he didn't leave me hanging was the most important thing. Needed my water boiler replaced and was quoted a ridiculous price from my oil supplier. Called Platinum on a Tuesday and had my water boiler replaced that Friday AM. They did a phenomenal job- super clean and efficient. Would highly recommend.

After a different plumbing company couldn't unclog my kitchen sink, they referred me to Downtown Plumbing. Now, that in itself means a lot--a plumbing company that is recommended by other plumbers!

These guys really came through for me. They were able to provide same day service at a reasonable rate. Willie and Antonio were prompt and friendly. They had all the tools and parts ready to go in their truck, so they were well prepared for any possible scenario. Most importantly, Willie remained calm, collected, and confident throughout. He assured me that he would troubleshoot any problem until it was fixed and I was satisfied.

If I need a plumber again, I'll be calling Downtown Plumbing!

Colin is breath of fresh air in a NYC landscape where expertise, trust, fairness and honesty are rarities. I've worked on half a dozen projects with Colin over the past 2 years ranging from installing a new kitchen sink faucet to installing a water filter, hooking up a new washer, snaking a clogged drain all the way to ordering new parts and fixing a non-flushing toilet. He's a good communicator, follows his word and is on time. He's also a straight shooter on pricing and is always willing to go the extra mile to do what's needed. Finally, Colin is an absolute gentleman, so I highly recommend him.

We had an incredibly positive experience with Blaustein Plumbing. We have custom, European plumbing fixtures (installed by previous owners) that are so specialized many plumbers don't understand how to fix them. I was recommended Blaustein Plumbing by a Plumbing and Hardware store that sells the specialized parts we needed. They charged a VERY reasonable (relatively speaking) flat fee per hour and are far more experienced and knowledgeable compared to other plumbers I've worked with. They're also super courteous, in addition to the mask, they put booties on before entering the apartment, gave me advice on how my building's super could fix certain items or issues (so I wouldn't have to spend the money calling a plumber). It was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend this plumber.

Samir was a pleasure to work with. I reached out to several contractors regarding a small project that most contractors would not even get back to me about because it wasn't worth their time. The scope of the project was removing the existing countertop, building a new custom cabinet for my appliance(the existing one was a custom 18 depth), installing new countertop and installing a new backing for the back of the island.

He was responsive, came to see the project and discuss the scope, gave me a price and was honest about pricing (he said he would have to mark up the countertop price if he ordered for me which is understandable)

Overall, I'm happy with the work for the price. I ordered a large countertop that had to come in two pieces due to the size and you can tell one of them is slightly not level. It's a minimal height difference but I can tell, doesn't take away from the renovation too much.

There customer service is great, everyone is friendly. I would recommend this spot to any one in need of plumbing supplies. I was also told they sell Girl Scout Cookies so I had stopped by to buy some and it was very heart warming to see how the father was supporting his daughter.

I contacted Racso for quote to install a new mini-split unit in a space where one did not already exist. The team was responsive and able to come out next day and take measurements and assess the feasibility of install. Electrical needed to be run (be a separate contractor) and Racso facilitated the electrical work. The installation occurred on time and as promised. Overall very happy with the unit and the installation.

Response to my message via Yelp was no more than 15 minutes and was answered by the actual drain specialist/company owner. He gave me a quote to open a cometely clogged sink drain and we set up a same day time slot. It wound up that he finished a previous job earlier than expected and offered to come earlier. Of course I took the offer.

Upon meeting Rob G in person, he was very cordial, clean, professional and took care of my clogged sink drain in less than 30 minutes. He made sure the drain was clear and fully operational and offered to call him back as a guarantee should there be any issue afterwards. Price was as quoted - NO bait and switch.

I found Rob G to be very respectful, honest, and cares about his business/profession/work. You will see this from interacting with him but the proof is in his truck with how meticulously organized and clean it was. Good job. Service man came within 1 hour on a Sunday. Fixed the problem within 30 minutes. Gave good advice on how to avoid in the future and was on his way. $350 was in my range for this emergency situation. My line was clogged and caused flooding.  Very professional. I would use them again

Bought a portable dishwasher, and the device that connects to the sink didn't seem to fit my sink. I went to AE on the recommendation of a local hardware store that wasn't able to help me out.

Turns out, I wasn't doing it the right way and it did fit. They helped me out free of charge, despite the fact that I was a retail client instead of a contractor, who seem to be their typical customers. I appreciated the honesty and quick service!
