Best Businesses in New York, NY
Scott and his team are highly skilled, professional, courteous, and of high integrity. We found the pricing very fair, but what's more was that we felt very comfortable putting our trust in Main Man Water Works to get the job done right.
I had a lot of other companies come by to give estimates, and most of them were opportunistic. I know we made the best choice for the job we had, which involved fixing a leaky water main connection and then repairing our street. Some of his competitors were fixing to gouge us.
Scott works well with the Department of Environmental Protection and gave us good advice throughout the process, even advising to obtain water main insurance from the DEP once all was done.

Our toilet had a stoppage in the middle of the night. After consulting with multiple plumbers, Akeim of Sturks Sewer Works was able to clear the blockage and get the toilet back into functional order at a very reasonable rate. Thank you so much Akeim!

Find another, more professional plumber. Sadly, they don't respect your time. I used them once before and they were fine. Tried a second time and had a morning appointment scheduled far out in advance. I was told they had a bigger job so they needed to move me to the end of the day. I obliged and rearranged my schedule. Was given a window of 4-7pm. Called to confirm at almost 6pm and was told they needed to push me again until between 7 and 8pm. Got the runaround -- and he said, what do you want me to do? Come another day? Star Cities, I've already rearranged my schedule for you. I have a job that I left early to meet YOUR schedule. Don't ask me to do it again. You wasted my time. Never again.

Eddie has and will remain my buildings plumber of choice. Nice guy, transparent and more importantly communicative. Last job was running late due to an issue with another customers job but called to update me on his time. Things happen, and making sure he didn't leave me hanging was the most important thing. Being respectful maybe a small thing but makes a big difference. Thanks again Eddie

They did the job quickly, efficiently and professionally. They communicated and explained everything that need to be done. I especially liked that Mike was respectful and wore a mask when speaking with my family. I highly recommend Austin Plumbing and Heating.

Stay away from this company I don't think they are licensed plumbers.
I reached out on yelp for an estimate to disconnect a water heater and furnace while I had work done in my basement and then have it reconnected when the work was done. James (who said he is one of the owners) messaged me with his phone number and asked me to call him to discuss. I called and we discussed the project. He said he would send me an estimate the next day. The next day he emailed me what I guess he thought was an estimate. It was just an email that had a brief description of the work and a price at the bottom. No name of the company, license number, or payment details. I texted James if he could send me a formal estimate with the company name and license number. I never got a response back. I texted him multiple times and called and never got a response. Also, his voicemail is full so you can't even leave a message when you call. I believe that they are not licensed and that is why they never responded back once I asked for a license number. This company is so unprofessional and I am glad I didn't get to point of having them do work in my home. I also needed my sewer pipe replaced so they lost that job as well. I would have also recommended them on my school district Facebook group because people are always asking for reliable plumbers.

My hot water heater had a leak from both incoming and outgoing pipes and needed a help. Guillermo was very prompt and gave me clear information about the issue. He was able come 1 hr earlier than the scheduled time, fixed the problem in about an hour. Maximo team is highly recommended.

I've had Anthony at Downtown P&H visit my apartment/building multiple times and he's been an absolute pleasure to work with. He clearly cares about his job and the work he does. He's also happy to share his knowledge with you if you're interested. Quality work, quality people; don't hesitate to call these guys up!

I have used Colin Lee for a number of plumbing issues in my apartment. He replaced a faucet in my bathtub and in my kitchen sink and he also fixed my toilet. Colin is very responsible, very responsive and great to work with. He gives an honest assessment and his prices are great. I highly recommend him.

We had an issue with a leak at our restaurant. No one was available. When we called and spoke to the owner, not only did he make sure to get someone out right away. He followed up after to make sure we were taken care of.
Extremely professional and I am happy to recommend to anyone looking for a good plumbing company.

Samir was very communicative, quick response time and provided the required insurance paperwork etc. He did the job as promised at the agreed price. It was a scraping, plastering, priming, painting job. Very satisfied with it. I'd use him again for this type of work or for plumbing etc.

Although I've never done official business with Friedman & Son (thus the 4 star rather than 5 star review), I greatly appreciated the fact that they helped me with a useful referral. I called for an emergency bathroom repair and although Friedman wasn't available during the time frame I needed, he graciously referred me to a friend of his at another company who *was* able to help (and who provided great service). I appreciated his willingness to provide info that enabled me to rapidly solve my problem, rather than just saying, Nope. All booked up, and hanging up- a mark of a quality person and business! Thanks, F & Son!

Best service Ive ever had from a business.I had a problem with the DEP not accepting my backflow test results due to the initial test being filled out incorrectly by a Build it Back architect,Tom and his staff did all the legwork contacting all the parties involved and rectified the situation. They saved me a lot of money in fines,And also saved me from having to hire another architect. They asked for nothing in return, even though they spent alot of time and energy on my case.

Quick response and reasonably priced quote. We needed a leak repaired in our main bathroom as well as replacing a vanity. While he was here, he noticed the toile needed to be fixed and offered to that that for a small additional charge. Very friendly and professional. Arrived on time, got the job done quickly and efficiently. We are hiring him again to do some work to our master bathroom.

Rob is awesome. He'll be who I call from now on for plumbing issues. I had a major clog in my kitchen sink and my usual plumber, who I have a service contract with, couldn't clear it. They tried from the kitchen down, as well as from the basement up, with no success. That plumber charged me $1000 for the time, labor and replacing the trap under my sink...and left me with a clogged, unusable kitchen sink. I called Rob. He came by the next day. Cleared the clog in 15 minutes for a very reasonable cost and ensured everything was functioning correctly. Rob is also a super nice guy, very friendly and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend Urgent Drain.

I wish I could give zero stars! This is hands down the worse service I have ever dealt with. Extremely unprofessional, Eric showed up with barely any tools and made the issue worse than it was. He was unable to reach the pipe so took a hammer and started banging the pipes until something finally broke. Had to come back numerous times since the problem was never really fixed. Finally had to call another company, who came and fixed the problem immediately and we have never had another issue since! Not only did Cheap Johns not fix the issue, but we had to deal with someone who was extremely obnoxious over 6 times!! Please save yourself a lot of time, energy, and money and use any other service!

AE was recommended to me by a contractor friend who has been buying from them for years. I went in to buy parts for a project in which I have to build an inflation system (balloon that inflates and deflates) so I was looking for valve part options to facilitate inflation and deflation.
The men working there were willing to help me and showed me a few part options. The first man (the owner I think) gave me some switch valves (plastic & metal) and then another man brought out a bike pump valve and a ball valve. I ended up buying the bike valve for $3.
They said they did not sell any small pumps (smaller than large bike pumps they were selling).
They accept returns with 25% restocking fee within 30 days.
