Starting up a new business is not easy to say the least.

Getting a new business up and running requires lots of calling around, talking with numerous people throughout the day from companies A-Z. For the last month my phone has been glued to my ear. Stress levels high? Yes.  

I called Voltz Electric and their secretary picked up the phone, my first thought, YES! Someone picked up!
She was very diligent about getting me to speak with Matt, who would be managing my project. I was VERY pleased to get such a quick response! I was set up with an appointment that very day. That is what I like when I'm on a serious timeline.

My project: I needed 3 sub-panels connected to the main breaker in the building, a 2 day project. In my world, that is big contractor work.

On such a large project, before I hired Matt I got two quotes. I am the kind of person who cares about what kind of person I will be doing business with, and it is not all about money (but for practicality purposes it does matter, which is why I looked for two quotes). I chose Matt because the price was competitive, but more importantly A. He had great yelp reviews, B. My experience in dealing with them was hassle free, and C. After I met him, he pretty much had the job in the bag.

Since I don't know much about electrical work and am not an electrician, I trusted my own personal judgement on the vibes I got from Matt (sounds cheesy, but I am a believer in these things and have quite good luck with it), who as far as I can tell seems personable, honest, and straight forward. He answered my phone calls on point whenever I had questions and was really quick to respond to my text messages. Not only was my experience hassle free, but the job was done perfectly as Matt planned, AND done exactly on schedule as planned. Very on point.

I also like having confidence in the work I hire; Voltz Electric gave me a 5-year warranty on the work they did for me. Sweet!

A few of our lights were flickering periodically so we contacted Wolfe electric to come and take a look. The appointment was easy to schedule. Jason came out to our house and informed us that the problem was most likely just the LED light bulbs we were using. He suggested changing the bulbs and did not charge us for coming to our house. We replaced the bulbs as he suggested and that was in fact the problem. He was very honest and we surely appreciated it! He was so nice to come out and advise us without charge. Will surely contact him in the future for further electrician needs.

I couldn't even get an estimate from them without providing my first and last name, email, and home address.  Ridiculous.  I went with a different company.

If you need electrical work, Simply Electric, and Minh are the folks to call!  Minh was super responsive to my request and made time to come out over the weekend and take a look at the items I was concerned about and provided a quote with no strings attached and at no cost.  Minh was very knowledgeable and advised me of what he could do and what it would cost.  He was very clear on everything that it could be and what that would mean as far as cost and time.  I did do research on several companies and Minh was the most responsive and reasonably priced plus he is licensed.  After purchasing the fixtures I called Minh back and he scheduled me for the following week.  Minh was on-time and allowed me to watch him complete the work and advised me on what he was finding.  Of course, as with a lot of projects with an old home, things weren't exactly simple but Minh was able to pivot and get all the work done without hesitation.  Minh cleaned up all his mess, worked quickly, and went above and beyond to make sure the job was done correctly and safely.  I would definitely recommend Simply Electric and will be using them again when I have electrical needs.  Nice work Simply Electric!!  Thanks again!!

Best electrician in San Jose! Hands down! Julio, Mauricio and all the crew are professional, honest, quick and so knowledgeable! They took care of my residential needs including my laundry room, entry hall, hallway lighting and even did the electrical outlet in our garage for our electric car. I called Duke on a Wednesday for a quote to do recessed lights in my new two-story house. He followed up with a text message and we arranged for a free in-person consultation for Saturday. He was 1 of 3 electricians I reached out to for a quote, he was 1 of 2 that responded timely and of the two he was the higher quote, but the better choice.  I decided to go with Duke because:

1) He came to the house and walked through each area explaining his process and approach which informed the proposal he later provided. Through text message he gave a 'cost per light' quote to give us a sense of the total cost of the project, then while at the house we talked about the number of lights that would be optimal for each area of the house.

2) He was able to squeeze in my project, between two other projects he had scheduled, for a completion date of within two weeks from the time I initially called. I called Jan-15 and the lights were installed by the 29th.

What made me feel good about working with Duke:

1) He got us quotes for a drywall/paint person to patch up holes and they worked together.

2) He spent the entire first day mapping out the ceilings and worked with us to try out a few different placement ideas for the more problematic areas of the house.

3) He encouraged us to get quotes from other electricians so we would become more knowledgable in the process and feel good about the decisions we were making.

What you should know: We got our contract (proposal for work) and invoice when the work was almost done. A lot of the decisions and changes we made were verbal and on occasion recapped through text message. We were comfortable with that approach since it was within a short timeframe.

Henry and his team did an excellent job installing our new electrical panel. Henry was very responsive to our needs and concerns regarding the project. He completed the work ahead of schedule with the utmost professionalism. He made the process very easy by obtaining the necessary permits and inspections  to complete the installation of our electrical panel in a timely manner.
I would highly recommend California Power & Light.

Adary Electric is one of the few contractors in the Bay Area who is organized and friendly through out the whole process from quote till payment. I also love that they use Quickbooks online payments - so no more check bullshit.

I strongly recommend not using this company.  They came to install an EV charger, a job that should have taken half a day.  The installer showed up late and left the house twice to get parts.  He was gone for half of the day and left at the end of the day with the job incomplete, with long wires dangling from the side of my house, and with no communication.  He also installed the charger in a different location than we agreed and ran the conduit in a haphazard fashion, in a location other than what we agreed.  He also disconnect the ground for our Internet service, which was clearly marked as needing to remain connected.  Two other installers showed up the next day and they seemed more competent.  When I checked their work afterward, they had installed an old, used circuit breaker for the new circuit.  When I asked for it to be replaced, someone else came to swap the breaker, but installed the wrong amperage (which could have led to a fire!).

Jim was very professional. He answered all my questions and concerns via message on Yelp. He was able to provide a quote as well with the pictures I submitted. We set an appointment, he showed up on time and executed the job.

Wow! Probably the best experience with a service professional EVER! My husband and I were watching tv on a Saturday and smelled a burning electrical smell. And sure enough one of our outlets was melting!  Pretty scary to think of what could have happened if left unaddressed!  We found Fast Handy Electric through Yelp and they answered our call while out at another job. Within an hour they showed up and fixed the problem. Completely reasonable rates especially considered it's a holiday weekend. Not only did they fix the problem, they were super knowledgeable on why it happened and what other things to potentially look into. The owner on his way out spotted a few other little things and was fixing things that we didn't even ask to be fixed. We will absolutely use them again and spread the word!!! Thank you so much!

David and his helper came out to install a 220 volt charger for our electric plug in car.  He showed up on time to give us an assessment.  It was obvious immediately that he knew what he was doing and explained all our options.  He offered several suggestions to save us money.

He committed to a time to come back to do the work, sent a reminder txt that he was coming, then showed up on time.  He beat his time estimate on the work, labeled everything and cleaned up immaculately.   He took the time to explain in detail how to use the new charger - offered me a warranty on his work, and all of this with a genuine smile.  

I would hire David again in a heartbeat for any electrical work we need!

My AC wasn't working and Kostas came over to help. He had a very polite, professional attitude and accurately identified the issue. He proposed what he believed to be the best solution at a reasonable price and within 1 hour my AC started to work again. If/when I need a service again, I will be a returning customer and ask Kostas to come over. I give this company an A+. Thank you for your help.

Caio is my go to Electrician. I met him through a mutual colleague, and he's been doing my electrical work ever cents. I recommend him to all my customers as I am a drywall contractor. He always gives a good price and also gives a little bit extra if there's a little details that need to be added, he will not nickel and dime you. I really nice guy to deal with as well.

Jack took his time and found the problem i had which was a shorted circuit in the house. Very good price and he was responsive. Highly recommend!

Carlos was out the same day for a quote, quoted a fair price, and did the work the next day. He's very easy to talk to and explain the job. The work was also done well. I will use them in the future and definitely recommend them.

I had my old 40A panel upgraded to 200A in order to install HVAC. Mike was on time, courteous and did a great job of adding in the new panel, mast, rewired all the circuits, and a new ground rod.

He guided the inspector and everything went smoothly.
