Minh did a fantastic job upgrading our electrical panel from an old 100 amp unit to a 200 amp solar ready unit.

In evaluating the project, he was very upfront on the challenges (larger box, elevation need on intake wires, San Jose and PG&E coordination, permitting) and submitted a competitive bid. Once work was underway, we actually encountered three delays from PG&E; two of them were last minute cancellations with Minh's team waiting for them to show. Every delay added more weeks to the project.

Even though this project would have been ideally done in 6 weeks, it ended up taking close to 6 months. Minh stayed true to everything within the original bid, and we finally have a new electrical panel with room to grow.

I highly recommend Minh for any electrical panel build outs.

I had Minh out a few weeks ago to assess a problem with my stove as well as some other issues with a few exterior fixtures. He spent a good deal of time repeating the diagnosis in the kitchen. Over and over again.

He hemmed and hawed about fixing the exterior fixtures although I had purchased two new fixtures in case they were necessary. All told, he gave me an estimate for the problem in the kitchen and replaced one gfi for over $600. It felt like he was looking for reasons to not do anything.

I called out another electrician a couple of weeks later. The difference was startling. He quickly diagnosed the kitchen problem & said he would send me an estimate. No wasting time on repeating the diagnosis. He assessed the exterior issues to determine if it was wiring or the fixtures and quickly determined it was the fixtures. No hemming and hawing, no wasting time. He assessed, explained, and fixed. All told, he diagnosed the kitchen problem and replaced 4 fixtures for $500. His estimate to repair the kitchen problem is $300 below Minh's.

We love Minh and his crew! We had him out in 2021 to do half of our vintage home electrical upgrade from knob & tube wiring to modern electricity. We had him back in early 2023 to do the other half of the job (the harder part). Both times, nothing but amazing service.

Working in a 110-year-old house means everything has a mystery to solve. Minh was all over it, figuring out where every single switch and plug in the house connected and went to the circuit box. At the end of our two-part project, every circuit is clearly labeled and anything no longer working is gone (no more mystery switches to nothing). All our lights and plugs are now safe and updated. He was able to install new light fixtures (we purchased on our own), and also use existing fixtures where we wanted to keep the old ones. We are so happy!

The team is friendly, respectful, and dedicated to keeping your home clean while they work. Costs are clearly estimated upfront and any additions are clearly communicated before they start doing extra work.

Minh and his team did an amazing job on my recent recessed lighting installation. The installation was recessed lighting throughout my whole home, including 12 foot vaulted ceilings. We needed troubleshooting of some flaky power in the back bedrooms of our 50's-era Los Altos home, along with a couple dedicated circuits for our master bath (one for a space heater, one for a Toto washlet). Minh was responsive, friendly, cost-effective and most importantly did a great job. I highly recommend him and would absolutely hire him again.

Re: troubleshooting, he figured out that our new treadmill in the guest room plus the space heater in the bathroom were the root cause, drawing too much power through our old wiring. So in addition to the two circuits for the bathroom, he added a dedicated circuit for the treadmill and thankfully before we damaged it by not giving it proper power and voltage. He also cleaned and replaced a couple old and largely burned out breakers in our main panel. Our space heater(s) were likely big contributors to that burnout.

He ran the wires for the new circuits from our subpanel in our unfinished garage (we put the subpanel in ~10 years ago during a significant remodel) and hid them inside the garage wall, then under the house and over to the bedroom and bathroom. It was a nice clean job, the new receptacles look and work great, and he was also very respectful about keeping the inside floors clean with drop cloths.

Aside from the work he was also very informative. I asked him a lot of questions which he answered happily and I learned a lot from him. #1 - any time you have an appliance that uses more than half the rated current (or power) for a circuit, that appliance needs a dedicated circuit.

We were looking for electric panel upgrade and we went with Simply Electric after a few quotes.

Their pricing is one of the more competitive ones but it's not the lowest. Minh, the business owner, patiently broke down his pricing and explained clearly the work he would be doing to give me the confidence of his work.

Minh and his team were very responsive and professional throughout the installation and permitting process, and did an expert job of the work.

Just note that we upgraded to a larger box, and Minh's team does not patch up the stucco after the installation and we found a contractor who handles it separately.

Minh is very detailed on doing the work. I contacted him for pendant installations. He responded my message quickly, showed up on time, and installed the lights very carefully and professionally. The best part I noticed is Minh cares about my house. When he moved ladders around or walked around, he was careful on floors and walls and always put his tools gently. My ceiling is about 120 inches height and he put 2 piece of woods on the countertop before standing on it so that it will spread the weight evenly without crashing it. I purchased a new Tesla Model 3 recently back in November 2022. I also needed to get the Tesla Wall Charger installed, so that I could do fast charging at home. I contacted Minh and he replied very quickly and then came out to visit the house and gave me a quote. Minh was incredibly responsive, fair, and reasonable. Minh was a pleasure to work with. I put out a request over the weekend looking for prices to install a Nema 14-50. He hit me up promptly and 30 minutes later, he was at my garage giving me a free estimate. He also gave me options to choose from (front of garage vs back) along with what materials would be needed and the price differences.

When it was time to do the job, he came at the expected time (actually a little earlier) and completed the job in a couple of hours (and this job was the more involved version).

Minh keeps it real with you, showing what products he's going to use (he even showed me prices on homedepot.com etc) and why he uses the more expensive Nema 14-50 outlets than what you can buy on Amazon. You get what you pay for.

If I ever move and have to get one of these installed again, I'll be calling Minh for sure.

If you need electrical work, Simply Electric, and Minh are the folks to call! Minh was super responsive to my request and made time to come out over the weekend and take a look at the items I was concerned about and provided a quote with no strings attached and at no cost. Minh was very knowledgeable and advised me of what he could do and what it would cost. He was very clear on everything that it could be and what that would mean as far as cost and time. I did do research on several companies and Minh was the most responsive and reasonably priced plus he is licensed. After purchasing the fixtures I called Minh back and he scheduled me for the following week. Minh was on-time and allowed me to watch him complete the work and advised me on what he was finding. Of course, as with a lot of projects with an old home, things weren't exactly simple but Minh was able to pivot and get all the work done without hesitation. Minh cleaned up all his mess, worked quickly, and went above and beyond to make sure the job was done correctly and safely. I was looking to install some outlets in the attic to power my outdoor security cams. I also wanted to fix the porch light fixture, but that was a second priority item.

I called Minh and he came pretty much right away and on time. He brought an assistant with him, or maybe it was a trainee? Either way, I appreciated the professionalism Minh showed not only to me but especially to the trainee/assistant on how to get into the attic and find the right location for the outlets and getting the power up there. They installed 6 outlets right in the locations I asked for and they were done in nothing flat. Way ahead of expectations!

The price was reasonable and cheaper than most of the other quotes I got.

And as an added bonus Minh was kind enough to test the porch fixture to see if it really was broken (it was) and then offered to swing by after I purchase a replacement to install it without any additional cost.

I have another project I need to do (replacing ventilation fans in the bathrooms) that i'm definitely going to Minh for.

Project was to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in the garage for EV charging. Simply Electric and owner Minh was the only vendor that came by for the estimate on Saturday. At first I wanted to install the outlet from the sub panel. He strongly suggested not to do that because codes violation and high risk of fire.

We ended up pulling a 50 ft conduit from the main panel and per his advice, we installed an industrial grade Hubbell receptacle, which is recommended by Tesla. Other vendors I spoke to quotes with cheap ones like Leviton and still Simply Electric beat their prices.

Overall, Simply Electric offered the most competitive price, Minh gave the most sincere advice and provided very reliable work and materials which I can trust.

Very clean and knowledgeable electrician and helper. Hired to repair some issues in my house.

Had two issues.
1) Blank of lights were out
They were able to find the issue with the wiring issue and fixed it.

2) Bathroom outlet was out.
They were able to figure out that all the bathroom GFCI outlet swere wired together. One of the GFCI outlets was dead. Once replaced, all was good.

Would I hire Minh again?? YES!!!

I was in need for installing NEMA 14-50 to my pre-wired electrical box. I asked for quotes from multiple electricians around my neighborhood, but I ultimately decided to go with Minh. I can honestly say that I'm happy with my decision:

- Minh was the first one out of all electricians I talked to provide me with a quote within few hours after supplying several photos about my current electrical panel setup. Minh stood out among the other electricians, because some of them straight up ignored what information I can provide to them. Some refused to provide me any quote unless I scheduled an appointment with them just for estimation work.

- Scheduling an appointment with Minh was very straight-forward. He showed up on time. His work was clean and he completed his work on time too.

- The type of NEMA receptacle Minh installed was the one I was looking for. I was satisfied that he suggested it first without me having to request it or buy it in advance separately.

- Minh finished installation early in the morning. I didn't have much time to try out charging the car in the morning. Minh happened to be finishing works around the neighborhood and decided to drop by in the afternoon on the same day to see if everything is working as intended.

I requested an inspection from another electrician and they suggested some solutions that seemed unorthodox, so I sought a second opinion from Simply Electric.

Minh was able to diagnose and explain the issues clearly and address the problems which didn't require the complex and expensive solutions offered by the another electrician. As other have said, his rate is competitive, but not the lowest. However, the quality of his work is sound and he is very experienced. In the end I actually ended up paying less than what I had been quoted by another electrician. On top of that, Minh is very friendly and professional, and he cleaned up after the job was done, which I appreciated.

Hopefully I will not have any more electrical problems, but if I do, I know who to call!

Minh helped me to install a new 60A breakers with copper wire (Tesla's recommendation: which allows to take a higher current, better safety) and connect to Tesla wall charger from main electrical panel. The job was completed well and neat in 1 hour.

I recommend Minh for all your electrical needs. He is professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. In addition, he provides reasonable pricing. I hired Minh to do the recessed lighting for my kitchen and living room. He showed up on time to give his estimates and started promptly on schedule. He does quality work taking his time with the details and letting me know if there are any issues.

For example, when Minh crawled into my attic, he noticed there were existing electric wires that were exposed and not properly sealed or tied. He took care of that for me without hesitation. Other people could have not said anything and just do the job they were hired for. I like the fact he was honest and cared about the safety and quality of his work.

In addition, I bought a nest smoke detector and asked him to install it on my ceiling. He helped me install it and made sure it was installed straight. :) I really appreciate all those details and his hard work.

Minh's craft and attention to detail is superb. It's for this reason that I didn't hesitate hiring him again, once in 2019 and now in 2021. When he installed our living room recessed lighting in 2019, he warned me that he'd need to make small cuts on the wall that the painters would need to touch up. When he was finished, I could barely tell that any work was needed. Recently, when I asked him to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in our garage; he helped me select parts that could withstand the higher load per Tesla's recommendation. What impresses my wife most: He comes and leaves our home clean. Yes, after he completes his tasks, he vacuums his work area and takes away all garbage with him. I give Minh my highest recommendation (if you can get on his busy calendar).

Minh is very knowledgeable and was able to discern the issue that we had using good rationalization and know-how that years of experience have afforded him. We are thankful that he was able to troubleshoot what our major concerns were and fix the problem(s) which arose due to sub-par electrical work done by the subcontractors hired by Tom of Cabinet & Stone Expo Inc that renovated the downstairs kitchen and bathroom as well as flooring, which is falling apart within 5-years due to crappy materials and rushed labor (See my review for them here yelp.com/biz/cabinet-and…).

Back to Simply electric-you can't go wrong if you choose Minh. Although he charges a minimum 2 hrs, he does this because he is serious about utilizing his knowledge of electricity to help you. It's no abuse of power :)

Yes, Simply Electric is just that! Minh and his assistant were prompt, efficient, and left no trace after the job was done. They installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet below my electrical panel in about an hour. Their price are very competitive and Minh was prompt to message me. I've used Minh and his team's services twice and both times they did a great job. Minh installed several recessed LED lights, ceiling fan and added few switches and power outlets. The ceiling fan was on a vaulted ceiling and was a bit tricky. But, Minh did a phenomenal job installing it.

I got over 5 quotes for a few different projects. Minh was prompt as well as honest in his quotes, and provided advice that other electricians overlooked or might not mention in the hopes of just making money.

We ultimately went with Minh to install recessed lights in our dining room and living room. He was reasonably priced (not the cheapest nor the most expensive), but we trusted him the most and thought he'd do the best job.

During the job, he was on time, clean, thorough, and very receptive to feedback and questions. Some electricians/contractors will talk down to you if you ask any questions because they think they know best, whereas Minh was very patient with us and explained what he was doing and thinking. The end result was perfect and Minh did a great job.

First of all Minh was the first person to respond to me when I requested a quote to multiple electricians and always responded timely. We exchanged texts and learned how knowledgeable he is through that. He arrived as scheduled and discussed my options where to locate the NEMA 14-50 outlet. After deciding on location, he showed me the materials; wire, outlet, plate and box and I was impressed how knowledgeable he was. As planned, he installed the outlet in my desired location without an issue. He made sure it was even leveled and everything aligned properly which satisfied the OCD in me.

3 of our wall outlets went out (one used for fridge) and Minh came out to fix our problem. He came promptly when he said he would (including calling ahead) and fixed everything in 1 hour. He explained everything along the way so that we understood what was going on. He even replaced one of the outlets to make it safer since it did not have proper grounding. We were very happy with Minh's work installing recessed lighting in our old house back in 2019 that when we moved recently, we hired him again, this time to do more recessed lighting and moving an outlet. The quoting and scheduling process was very straight forward, and Minh was very responsive as usual. We had many question and many ideas on the work we wanted done. Minh was helpful and patient with us, and gave us honest feedback on our ideas.

On the day of the install, Minh and his crew showed up on time, wearing masks, and was very careful in protecting the house and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. He was very detail oriented, and even made sure to wipe the ceiling and the recessed lighting fixtures clean after install, to erase any smudges/finger marks afterwards.

After the recessed lighting install, we reached out to Minh again with a small request to move an electrical outlet. He was again very responsive, and was able to squeeze us into his busy schedule, and moved the outlet for us just a few days later on a Sunday.

Overall, I'm very happy with Minh's consistency and work quality, and I will be sure to call him again for any future electrical work!

I have a need to install a NEMA 1450 outlet in my garage for my new EV car. I called Simply Electric based on good reviews on Yelp and Minh responded immediately. Minh asked me to provide a picture of my electrical panel and describe what I need to install and how far is the installation location from the electrical panel. Minh then provided an estimated cost for this installation with detail parts he will use for this installation. I am very impress the level of communication leading to the installation. On the installation date, Minh shown up on time and completed the installation within the estimated time window (about 2 or 2 /12 hours). Minh's work is beautiful and very professional. I hired Minh to do recessed lighting in my living room and master bedroom. Both these rooms do not have attic and it is difficult to install recessed lights. I got two quotes for this job and his quote was best. Minh is complete professional from start to finish. He kept my apprised of all the progress and got my inputs on where the lights should be placed for best coverage. He warned me of cuts but went the extra mile of minimizing the cuts. In the living room he suggested to place the switch in another spot in order to avoid making any cuts. Work was clean with no mess. He came out once to give me a quote on the work and another time to complete the job. I appreciated that Minh explained a lot about the process, as well as his commitment to quality electrical work. You can be sure that he won't take any shortcuts and is dedicated to providing work he can fully stand behind.

The only negative thing I would say about Minh is that he's extremely popular so he does have minimum job requirements and is usually booked out a few weeks. But I guess that's more of a positive than a negative since it comes with doing great work!

Minh and his team helped install recessed lights in 3 of our bedrooms along with a fan and some other minor electrical work. They did an excellent job and were very courteous. They laid out tarps all throughout the work area and cleaned up any debris from the work. I called them back on two more occasions to install new exhaust fans in our bathrooms and they did a super job even though it was a retro fit with running exhaust vents. Minh was super responsive and on time every time. He even helped pickup a few items from Home Depot that I was supposed to provide. I asked if he could help me fix a broken door on one of my kitchen cabinets and he quickly did that for me (not even electrical work and he did not charge me for it). I had reached out to some of the Tesla approved wall charger electricians and they were either non-responsive or seemed indifferent about the install after learning that we live in a multi-family home unit. I ended up deciding to go the NEMA 14-50 route.

I then reached out to a couple of electricians (based on their reviews) and Minh was quite responsive. He asked for some basic info about the install and quoted me a price. The thing I liked most about this was that this quote did not change based on how I wanted the outlet to be installed (behind a wall). I ended up making an appointment with him. The unfortunate thing, and I think this is a bay area phenomenon, is that electricians seem to be in high demand and Minh was only available a few weeks out.

Minh reached out again a couple of days prior to the appointment time to confirm my location. The one drawback was that the appointment time was quite broad (in the afternoon instead of a specific time). Nevertheless, Minh texted me his eta an hour prior to the install. He arrived right on time and the install went off without a hitch.

The outlet has served us well so far. It is supposingly industrial grade (I don't know how to tell) but I trust Minh. He says that this type of outlet is more resilient to some of the stories you hear about NEMA 14-50 outlets (melting etc.). Minh also said that I could contact him anytime if things do go awry. All in all, if you can wait a couple of weeks, I would go with Minh for an install.

Having just purchased a Nissan Leaf, we were looking for someone to install a Level 2 charger. I did some research on Yelp and included Simply Electric on my quotation list. Minh came out on a weekend to do a preliminary look-see without charging us and gave us a quotation right then and there. Later that evening, my wife and I decided to green-light the installation.

The day before the install, Minh sent us an email reminder, which should be standard, but it is a nice touch.

On the day of the install, Minh arrived as scheduled at 8:00 a.m. and his assistant arrived a few minutes later. Our job required the routing of wiring from the back of our garage, which is where our panel is located, to the front of the garage, which is where we wanted to put our charger. This required both long runs of AWG 6 wire and conduit. Also, the spot where we wanted the charger had no wall (only studs) so Minh installed some plywood to mount the charger on. Minh also made sure to install a heavy-duty socket, which is something that we didn't even think about asking for.

During the install, Minh periodically consulted with me to approve the location and arrangement of the charger, and he cheerfully accepted my suggestions.

The conduit was routed around the perimeter of our garage, and not in a straight line from the box to the charger, which I really appreciated because it looks so much better around the perimeter. Also, the new breakers in our panel were newly labeled with a professional label-maker - another nice touch and shows Minh's attention to detail.

The job was all wrapped before noon. Simply Electric accepts checks, but not credit cards. Very happy with how this job turned out.

Minh and his associate did a wonderful job on our electric panel upgrade. Our house had an old panel from 1950s, is no longer sufficient for modern day use. I had Minh and several other electricians come over and gave quotes. Minh's quote was in the middle and I decided to go with him because he gave the most detailed explanation about the upgrade process. I felt he was trustworthy. And my intuition was right.

During the whole process, Minh was super responsive and was willing to work with us through multiple delays. After our kitchen remodel December 2021, we decided to hire an electrician to take a look at several electrical issues with our home: the tripping of our kitchen circuit, and the inexplicable tripping of our bathroom circuit despite a recent breaker change. Our contractor for the kitchen job recommended Minh, the person behind Simply Electric. Minh was professional in his response to our request for a consultation, explaining upfront what to expect in terms of cost for an initial evaluation, as well as the potential causes of the electrical issues associated with our 44-year old home. When he arrived, he practiced COVID safety protocols, and with an assistant, began to assess voltage of our circuits. He was attentive to the details of our recent electrical experiences and he recommended splitting our kitchen circuit to 4 circuits, as well as separating our bathroom circuit and upgrading one so that we could safely use an electrical heater in the cold winter months. He also addressed an issue we had with flickering of our family room LED lights that we recently installed into our canned recessed lighting. (He advised that was likely because the original dimmer switches were incompatible with LED lights).

Minh is a licensed electrician with an electrical engineering degree and he stands by his work. He took the time to go over options and explain what to expect in terms of cost. We decided to hire him to upgrade our circuit breaker panel (which is now capable of handling an electrical vehicle charger, if needed), split our kitchen and bathroom circuits, upgrade the wiring for several circuits, and swap out the dimmer switches (which was the cure for the flickering LED alights). He came back the following week and spent about 8 hours with an assistant to complete the job.

We haven't had any electrical issues since Minh completed the work, plus he was thorough and his recommendations were on target. We appreciate and trust his work and abilities, and we look forward to hiring him back to install recessed lighting in our living room and bedrooms.

We heard some small explosions and then the lights went out. I replaced the fuse (its an old house) and flipped a circuit breaker and the lights came back on. 2 hours later, the lights are out again and I hear electrical arcing sounds coming from the fuse panel.

I called Simply Electric and they were here within a few hours. They replaced the 90 year old wiring from the main circuit panel to the fuse panel and voila, everything works again. And the price was GREAT!

home. Minh called us back and came that afternoon to check the rooms
to provide an estimate the next day. Minh is a licensed electrician with a
Electrical Engineering degree. He's very expert, knowlegable and experienced in all aspects of electrical work. He was very helpful answering
questions regarding the placement and spacing of the Halo lights. He uses a precise lazer device to measusre spacing and line up the lights. Minh and his
assistant arrived on time both days. They placed cloth tarps on the floor
pathway and picked up and vacumed the area daily before leaving. Our two story house upstair rooms were completed on day one. The first floor was more complicated due to some of the wiring necessary through the ceiling joists. The work was completed on schedule including dimmable switches and a remote for the ceiling fan. Minh did a phenomenal job installing recess lights in 2 of our rooms (4lights in each room). The workmanship and sincerity of this business deserve a special mention. He installed dimmers in each room, and simply swapped out the switch panels from current 3 to 4-- so the new light switch integrates with the existing switch panel without oddly showing an extra one. The thing that impressed us the most that we were not left with any 'holes' in our dry walls after the job was done-- Minh did an excellent job optimizing entry behind the wall and in the ceiling that he did not have to cut out any extra holes in the walls. The team brought all hardware, covered all our furniture, stairs and flooring before they started work.

I would undoubtedly call Minh for any of our future electrical needs.

Minh really helped me out with my project. I wanted to install track lighting in my small office to illuminate decorations on the walls. Minh answered the phone when I called. It was a Saturday morning. He sounded busy. But I did as he asked. I took photos of my office and texted him the photos, so that he can give me an estimate. I had no idea what the project would cost. I had little experience with hiring contractors. But Minh was willing to give me a reasonable quote. He was a polite, serious, and conscientious electrician. He treated me and his workers well. He was careful with his work and took extra time to make sure that everything was up to spec and working. He cleaned up after himself when done. It made me confident that he completed the project correctly and problems would not crop up later. I am happy I chose Minh over the other contractors. Minh was able to come out in a few days to get me a quote.

After getting the lights, I called him back to setup a time to work.
Unfortunately it rained on the day we had an appointment. He still stopped by. I told him we should probably do it another day since the weather may get bad.

We setup another time and he was right on time. Minh did a great job and even fixed one of my plugs while he was there because it was setup incorrectly.
Cleaned up everything after he was done and even followed up a few days later to make sure everything was working as expected.

Honest, thorough and effficient.

Minh came out gave me a very reasonable quote for both installing new cans for recessed LED lighting as well as retrofitting existing cans with tp24 connection type LED's. The work involved removing some fans and chandeliers. In total I had about 50 lights done.

They were quick and efficient always checking back that I was happy with placement of lights. They cleaned up after themselves and moved what they needed to to get the job done no fuss.

Additionally I had some other things that I needed some advice on and Minh suggested some ideas that would work and save me some money rather than try and drum up additional business. When doing the work we ran into some spots where the cans I ordered were too big, Minh pointed this out and gave me an option to install some he already had. He was honest and showed me the price on Home Depot and did't try to add any markup.

I will be using them again for my future electrical needs and would have no hesitation recommending them.

Minh came by to install a NemA14-50 outlet for the Tesla Mobile Charger. He quoted me the lowest price from all the other electricians in the southbay with no BS. Needed to get a medium job which required pulling in a new circuit, putting in switches, lights, and electrical boxes outdoors. Minh (and team) always wore masks (safety first), did exceptional work, and did not do any upsell, or provide new surprises. During the free estimate, he provided several options, including ones that would reduce the cost --- this was refreshing.

Minh and his crew showed up on time (every time), were clean and courteous. He had highlighted issues that could arise, and potential solutions *before* the work started, so everything went according to our discussion for the free estimate. He even agreed to come back two months later to complete putting up the fixtures that had been back-ordered.

Minh installed an L2 EV charger in my house and I feel good about my decision to hire him.

He's very responsive and came to my house to check things out in person free of charge before delivering a quote. His quote was good compared to other quotes I had gotten.

I'm no expert on electrical work but I watched him and his associate Duc work pretty much the whole time. They answered my questions when I had questions, and I feel like their handiwork was very good.

Minh was a pleasure to work with. Super patient whenever I had any questions. Always showed up on time to start work. He spent extra time to avoid cutting unnecessary holes for routing wires for power. In some cases he spent more of his own time to drill through existing wooden studs when he could have just cut more holes to make his own life easier. The holes he cut were small and rectangular. He used a nail gun to attach the hole to the wall so that the drywall person would have an easier time. I had about 52 recessed lights installed through out the house. Two of the rooms had high ceilings. Minh and his team are honest and I would hire them again for any electrical or lighting work needed. He has a level of professionalism that I'm sure carried over from his past role as an electrical engineer.

Extremely prompt on Yelp messages, I mostly communicated with Minh through Yelp and got an initial quote from him. Most businesses on Yelp were vague or didnt offer a quote at all. After explaining my set up, the quote needed to go up - (my condo set up is very difficult for most contractors).

I wanted a dedicated circuit in my 2 bathrooms so I could have a bidet in each. To come out and estimate the work was free, and he never over promised anything but said that he would try to make my setup work.

On the day of the install, they inspected the wall spaces by going through the attic. One bathroom was relatively easy, the other one near the exterior wall had a lot of piping and a beam blocking the bottom area so the only location they could put it was in a higher up area above the toilet - it's not ideal but it is functional for what we needed. They also did a nice job with the circuit panel switch replacements and labeling.

From start to finish was about 6 hours (8am to 2pm). They were on time, courteous, and cleaned up after the work was done.

Minh is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and a very honest guy. If anything comes up I will update, otherwise his service has been great!

I would give Minh more stars if I could. He replaced an electrical panel and helped me with my quest of installing recessed lighting in my condo. He was super on top of it all especially with the very involved permitting process in Palo Alto. He is a true and trusted professional and immensely thorough and thoughtful. So I set up my first ever appointment for 4pm on Saturday with Minh. He calls me at 1pm because he was done with some other customer and wanted to come by early. I dint answer his phone because I was busy then. Then I texted him at 3:30 stating that We are home and he can come at the scheduled time 4PM. He responds back with, because you dint answer my call at 1, I scheduled other appointments and now I am not available till 6pm.
Thats just really poor service. Instead of showing up at the scheduled time he gave me unneeded attitude and stated that he was too busy to do this!
If I could give no stars and leave a review I would.

Just wrapped up my electrical work..added a washer and dryer outlet and added LED lights to my garage..relocated an outlet in home office and fixed couple of outlets in kids room that were not working. Great finish..did everything very neatly..follows full safe distancing guidelines. As a former senior construction project manager, I have retained Minh's superlative services and craftsmanship for over 6 years now, for my own home. We have exactly 51 recessed lights, countless pendant lights, spot lights, light bars, and a myriad of other light fixtures in and on our property (and counting) - all meticulously installed by Simply Electric. Furthermore, Minh has upgraded the dimmer switches, general switches, and outlets throughout our home. Awesome work! Minh and his crew were able to accommodate my needs and was able to come out and install some recessed lights for me during my day off.

His quote was comparable to other contractors out there and decided to go with him due to him accommodating my request to get the work done by this week.

He was on time and very neat during his work. He also cleaned up after he was done with the job and wore booties over his shoes. Sometimes it's those small things that count.

We've been meaning to replace all of our electrical outlets for years and finally checked it off our to-do list. After a little Yelping, M decided to contact Minh at Simply Electric. Setting up a date and time to get an estimate was really easy. After meeting with Minh, we decided to also replace and add recessed lighting within our kitchen and family room.

One thing I really liked about the process was that Minh took the time to take notes on what we were asking for and when it came time to review our quote, it was exactly what we had asked for. Many times with other companies, we had to go back and forth to fix items that were missing. He even came by once more to show us the different options for the lights.

The day before service, he sent us a confirmation text. M was about to send a message when he realized Minh had already contacted him first. This was much appreciated.

Although I left the house with our son for most of the drilling, I was told that there was minimal dust and debris because Minh had a method to catch anything before it hit the floor. They cleaned each day before they left.

On the first night of our new kitchen lights, we decided (after much debate haha) that the lights were too bright. Minh had absolutely no issues with swapping out the plain switch to a dimmer switch so we could adjust the lights.

One thing to note is that we didn't have attic access above our family room so Minh needed to make cuts into the ceiling. I had already seen other photos on Yelp and knew what to expect but they were even smaller than I thought they would be.

We could not have asked for a better experience with Simply Electric.

Reach out to Minh about installing a bathroom fan. I was concerned with availability since other folks didn't respond right away. Minh respond on the same day and within a weeks time, he and his helper came and did the job. Very professional. Used a cloth rug from the front door to the bathroom and very conscious about the cleanup. Since my fan was over the tub, he spent extra effort by going with me to Home Depot to get a gfi switch to satisfy code. Really great guy who has been in the Bay Area for a number of years. I would call up Minh for any future electrical work!

Ok, I've never written a review and have used yelp my entire adult life.

I was so blown away by Minh and his crew I had to break my review-less streak.

I had used yelp to bid out the install of recessed cans in 3 bedrooms. Minh came in competitive but with better reviews.

He arrived when he said he would, put drop cloths down the entire length from the front door to each of the various rooms. He was meticulous, brought all of the tools he needed (one look at his company vehicle and you'll know what I mean.) He marked each of the rafters with magnets and then with lasers showed me exactly where the cans would be.

He also was able to run all of the wiring without creating any holes.

I've used him 2 more times since the first visit. If you need an electrician, he is your guy.

I couldn't say enough great words for Minh at Simply Electric. I was looking to add NEMA 14-50 in the garage for my Tesla. Minh was fast in responding to my call and was able to schedule a quick service (2 hours job) in couple days. Also he was very diligence at his work. He triple checked his work to ensure the circuit is delivering the proper amp before leaving.

One last and most important thing. The price is definitely much cheaper comparing to other contractors. Of course your mileage may vary depending on the distance from the main power panel. I will definitely look for him again for any future electrical work!

Minh is a very organized, clean, and knowledgeable electrician. He installed an EV charger, and two bathroom exhaust fans for me. For the EV charger, he manipulated a steel conduit to the exact shape that he wanted which was very impressive! As for the bathroom exhaust fans, the wires are labeled clearly, and are organized nicely inside the new electrical boxes installed for the continuous running fans.
They even cleaned up afterwards with a vacuum!

Minh was on-time, professional and clearly very knowledgable about his craft. He installed a chandelier on a high ceiling for me and replaced 2 light switches.

But the 6th star, if there were one, would be for his taking the time to figure out a rather complicated switching setup, which really seemed to go above and beyond. Another bonus: vacuuming after work was complete!

Tried to schedule an appt. he said he was busy. I asked his next opening and he gave me a date two weeks out. I agreed to the date. He then tells me he does not have time for my 2 hr job @ $150/hr. Says he is busy until the end of June. If you don't want small Jobs say so in your description. I don't mind looking for someone else.

Minh helped install a Tesla Wall Charger for me. I sent him photos of where I would like the conduit to be routed. He sent me a very reasonable quote; right away. He and his team showed up on time. Their work is top notch. They are meticulous with details, left no mess. I highly recommend him, he is professional, honest, and prompt.

Minh is awesome! He is straight forward, honest and ethical! He won't cut corners or or quote you different prices ( with or without permits, which is a whole other topic- long story short if a licensed contractor of any kind wants you to get the permits it's a problem! It also shifts the liability of any and all issues onto you! Be weary of contractors who ask you to get the permit! ). Minh is friendly and on time! He is reliable and knowledgeable. My brother is an electrician on the east coast who is a super stickler to code and doing things right. I told him Minh's proposal and showed him before and after photos and he was very please with his work. I have worked with several contractors and licensed tradesmen over the last 3 years on my house and Minh is the best one so far! No up-selling, no unexpected add ons, no emergencies that take him off the job. He is there when he said he would be, the job is done in the time he said and for the agreed price. Skip the other quotes and just call Minh. He should charge more than others for his quality and reliability but he doesn't. He is competitive with his prices while exceeding expectations with quality and experience and service!
