Jim and his partner just installed recessed lights for our home's bedrooms and did a wonderful job. The overall experience was great, from starting the conversation with Jim and getting a quote, to how efficient and clean the work was, to how much better our bedrooms look with the new lighting. Jim was very responsive in his communication and it was easy to set up a date and time to start the work, which ended up only taking a few hours for all 3 bedrooms. In total, we added recessed lights and dimmers in all the bedrooms, and added a new light in a walk-in closet. The update makes such a big difference and makes our home feel much brighter and modern.

We also had Jim come take a look at some smaller electrical issues we had at the beginning of the year and found him practical, efficient, and fair in pricing and his work. Thanks EChiBon Electric!

I had a great experience with EchiBon. I needed a panel upgrade, sub panel install and additional outlets for EV charger, water heater and a few more. Jim gave me a reasonable quote and filed the permit promptly and followed through with installation per schedule. Jim was really responsive with his quote, and with scheduling and completing our electric panel upgrade and Tesla wall connector installation. He also had to patch some drywall inside and stucco outside, and did a nice job including touch up painting. We had a delay due to the City's inspection schedule, but he let me know right away and rescheduled it as soon as possible. I was really happy with his workmanship and professionalism, and his pricing was very reasonable.

We are looking for a panel upgrade for our house. Jim gave us a very competitive price with quick response. During the process Jim always keep us updated with latest. Hired Echibon to replace a 240v outlet to a 120v outlet. Our old microwave/convection oven died and we wanted to replace it with a regular built in microwave.

I will always go with Jum for all my electrical needs. Finding a good, honest electrical guy is almost as important as finding an honest plumber.

Needed an electrical problem solved so got a bunch of quotes on Yelp. There are the whole slew of players...The non responsive guy, High end expensive guy, the shady guy that will do it without a permit and the worst...the guy that lured you in with a free evaluation then throws down a huge bill.

I remembered talking to Jim and he provided a fair quote and was no bs. It was a these are the services I provide and this is how much I cost. If you want cheap and I permitted, I'm not your guy but in a very professional and nice manner.

He was booked out a week, but i always remembered that conversation. Especially when I got the guy that gave me the free evaluation but wasn't really free.

Fast forward a few weeks and I needed my main panel upgraded. Jim was one of the first guys I called. A lot of guys that will upgrade your panel, but Jim quoted me a very reasonable rate but with all the permits and things done the right way. He delivered. Showed up on time, took care of all logistics with PGE/city. Did the install in a day with his assistant.

He did a fantastic job.

We ended up having another electrical issue a few weeks later and Jim was the first person I called. Instead of coming out and fixing the issue, he talked us through the easy fix and didn't even charge us.

If you want an electrician who knows his stuff, is honest and will actually be the guy that shows up at your door to fix your issue, Jim is your man.

Highly recommend Jim! I'm a very picky person, yet, Jim's work met all my criterions. Not only he is an expert in his domain, but also he is super easy to communicate. Jim was very responsive and clearly communicated throughout the installation and permit process for installing the EV charger.

He was also on time which is very helpful with young children at home. Some contractors will show up late or very early having us scramble to accommodate.

This is my 1st time to give 5 stars review in Yelp, and I highly recommend Jim for everyone.

1. The breaker from my main panel cannot jump back after I installed the recessed light ring by myself. I called Jim and he helped me to troubleshoot the issues by phone and save my money (typically around $185 if the electrician visit for the diagnosis)

2. I also want to upgrade my main panel to accommodate future ADU & EV charger and instal 220V outlet for the hot tub. From the call (around 45 mins, Yes, you can tell Jim is very patient), he is professional and friendly to answer all my questions and concerns. He calculated how many Amp I need and what kinds of choices I have. My background is electrical engineering. From the conversation with him, I can tell he knows what he is doing and always consider his customers (save some money for his customers). He also recommended me to discuss with other GC and electricians. I feel that Jim not only has strong background and knowledge but he is also honest and friendly. I'll definitely upgrade the panel with him in the future!!

Very fast, prompt , friendly service. Added a NEMA L5-30P outlet on 30 amp breaker, 2 NEMA 5-20P outlets on 20 amp breaker, and a regular outlet on 20 amp breaker to my garage. Also remounted a bad outlet, and additionally replaced my transformer for my video doorbell.

I contacted Jim for a price quote to change out my dimmer switch to a regular switch. We communicated over text, I sent him pictures of what I needed done and he was very responsive and provided a fair quote.

He arrived on time, put on shoe covers before entering the house, switched the dimmers to a regular switch, made sure the lights worked and cleaned up after themselves. Done in no time.

I would definitely recommend him and use him in the future.

Jim and EchiBon were fantastic. I needed a Tesla Wall Connector installed and other electric companies were slow to respond and some time wouldn't send me a quote after promising to do so. With Jim at EChiBon, I contacted him on a Monday via Yelp and they responded right away. The job was done that same week on Wednesday afternoon. They even arrived earlier than they said they would. It was a pleasant and efficient experience all around. To compare: I tried others like Adary and Fuse HVAC. While Fuse HVAC was responsive, they were scheduling much further out than I needed and the others like Adary didn't even respond after the initial conversation. There were a couple other five star rated groups that were pretty condescending and ultimately didn't bother to follow up with a quote. George Richardson at GE Richardson was one example.

Overall, EchiBon really stood out above the others. I highly recommend them.

After spending months trying, and failing, to find an electrician to install my Tesla charger (based on the official list of installer recommended bu Tesla), I decided to try a local electrician and I'm glad I did! We lost power to the Garage Door openers, while the breaker panel didnt have anything tripped.
Jim was very responsive and clear on the scheduling. He was upfront on the charges, which was actually the lowest that I found among the ones that were available to come as soon as possible.

Great communication and customer service!

It's nice when you find someone who takes the time to explain everything in detail and also respond to texts when you have questions.

Jim and his work partner came out and installed a new panel, EV charger and extra electrical outlet for me.

He always communicated, he worked hard with the city to get me installed before 2021 and came on time and worked until everything was completed.

The hardest part of install was waiting around for PG&E to come back and connect the power, Jim waited in our drive way for HOURS for them to come back.

I also had some other issue that I text him about and he gave me his troubleshooting rate and a couple things to check, my stuff ended up working so we did not have to do the work but I really appreciate him texting back right away

We needed to install two ceiling fans in our house and two outlets in walls where there weren't any. It was a difficult job because our house does not have any crawl space or attic and there was definitely drywall cutting involved. We took quotes from 5 to 6 different people but found that EchiBon Electric was the most reasonable and professional of the lot. They also offered to patch up the drywall included in their quote that no one else offered - which meant less work for us. (Hard to hire someone for such a small job of patching and painting).
The most impressive thing about them was that one of our outlets was in a wall between the main door and the garage door and in the absence of any crawl space it was extremely difficult to get wiring there. It was an important location for an outlet because that is where we intended to create our home office due to WFH Covid.
Echibon opened that wall and found that it was full of endless wood beams and they had to cut a lot more than they originally anticipated, which added one full hour to their work. But despite this, they did not increase their quote or give us a hard time. They finished the work like professionals and patched up like they promised.
I highly recommend EchiBon for your electrical work needs and I am a customer of them for life.

I recently needed an electrician to install a new pendant light into the ceiling, where there was not a junction box / housing. I reached out to several electricians via Yelp, and Jim from Echibon was the first to respond. It was almost immediate. We exchanged multiple messages, and Jim had lots of questions about our current light situation, switches and attic access, and clarification of what we wanted. Based on our messages, Jim was able to explain what he would need to do, and give me an estimate of how much his services would cost. We were able to schedule him to come less than a week away. He and his assistant were very careful and thorough, and I was impressed with how quickly they were able to complete the job, plus clean up after themselves. In our situation, Jim needed to remove two of our recessed can lights in kitchen to access the wires needed and re-wire, which required him needing to install two new can-less lights in our ceiling. Jim came prepared with lights to do this. The only issue we had, is the new recessed lights he installed to replace old ones were slightly smaller than the previous ones. It was not his fault though, and he offered to patch up the ceiling, but we declined as we were going to be painting the ceilings in the near future. Jim gave us suggestions on what we could do to fix the appearance of the new light being slightly smaller than the ceiling hole, which was to go buy some trim specifically for this at the hardware store. Would have been nice if he had the trim with him, but it ended up working out fine, as my husband was able to buy the trim, although with a bit of effort to get it to fit just right. As for the pendant light installation and switch control, he and his assistant did a fantastic job determining placement of the light, cutting the drywall, installing new housing and re-wiring so that we could use one of our existing switches.

I highly recommend Echibon Electric and would not hesitate to use them again for any future needs. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable thorough, yet efficient. I can now see why all the reviews are glowing 5 star reviews!!

I had several outlets and lights that had burned out and needed replacing. Jim from EChiBon responded to my YELP request right away and was able to come fix all of them, plus some problems I wasn't even aware of. I'm very impressed at the quick response time, the full explanations of what was wrong and how he was fixing it, the COVID precautions and the efficiency of the repairs.
additional info: today Jim and his team replaced our outdated electrical panel, completed the job, including 2 PGE inspections, quickly and professionally. Jim even offered to repaint the part of the wall he patched while installing the new breaker box!

EChiBon was great. Half of my house power was out during weekend, Echibon was the only one pick up the phone Saturday Monday. He recommended to reach out to PG&E after understand the high level situation. He also offered to try to fit us in the same day if PG&E can't fix the issue. PG&E came and figure out the issue is indeed from outside the house.

By calling Echibon, they saved us a lot of money and time. Although we did not need to engage their services, we respect and trust their service with this single call.

The lights in our bathroom went out. Jims quote was the most competitive. He was on time, courteous and had a fix for the situation pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, the problem resurfaced and upon conveying that to Jim. His response was unfortunately unsatisfactory. It seems like he did not have the resources to fix the problem permanently. This puts me back in the position of searching for another electrician who can perform the permanent fix.

Although I commend him for his honesty, the rating is directly reflective of the work performed.

Jim has been exceptional, and I can see why he got so many perfect reviews.

Last year, Jim helped us upgrade our panel. Before doing so, when I was doing my research and searching for quotes etc., I found him to be the only one who was willing to answer my questions related to my kitchen remodel and helped me understand how to distribute the circuits and how to map them to the breakers. Not only is he knowledgeable, he was also able to explain it in details and was extremely patient throughout. He offered a fair price and the overall job was done in a timely, efficient and clean manner.

Few weeks back, I ran into an issue with my AC not working which was completely unrelated to last year's panel upgrade. On calling Jim, and explaining the problem over phone, we spent a long time ~40+ minutes troubleshooting it over a video call and Jim finally helped me isolate and fix it, which would have otherwise cost a fortune. His knowledge, troubleshooting speed and skills and most importantly ability to communicate is excellent.

I have never come across a more trustworthy electrician than Jim.

We recently hired Jim to install recessed ceiling lights throughout our house, while also swapping out some old can-style recessed lights for the more modern LEDs. Jim did a fantastic job installing new ceiling lights (4 rooms and a hallway) while also removing / patching the ceiling from where the old centered light fixtures were. Jim also did a great job swapping out the old canned lights in 2 rooms for the modern LED style. Jim and his team are very considerate in minimizing clean-up and ensuring your home is clean when they finish the job. Jim is professional, courteous, responsive, and his prices are very reasonable. Jim and his team also follow all the proper safety protocols during COVID. Jim's work is very professional, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again!

Jim was so great to work with! I was under escrow and my closing date moved, and Jim was really accommodating in terms of re-scheduling. He's super responsive to messages. We installed 15 recessed lights, 9 in the living room, 4 in the bedroom, and 2 in the bedroom closet. We had him install a combination of dimmers, smart dimmers and switches. Jim was really helpful in figuring out how many lights to install and the spacing. One of my rooms had a fish-like smell and realized it was an issue with one of my outlets. Took the cover plate off and saw the wires were burnt. Turned off the circuit and immediately called Jim. Mind you this was on a Sunday when most places are closed.

Had an urgent need to get electrical outlet installed outside of the house when I was switching from cable to fiber. Went through the usual Yelp process to get quotes, had a couple of very high quotes that didn't seem reasonable. Then, one of the merchant called back didn't have availability, but recommended EChiBon. There is a reason this business has 5 stars, they are fantastic. I needed a heavy chandelier installed in my dining room. They responded quickly when I asked for the quote. They are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.
The thing that impressed me the most is Jim asked a lot of details before giving me the quote. I knew the guy would be anal (in a good way). He also reminded me to have light bulbs on hand so he can test out the chandelier. Most contractors never inspect their work after. Jim is just very detailed oriented.
But, the best thing was that he wanted to make sure I was happy with the work. I had him (needlessly?) re-inforce the chandelier. My husband is super nervous and demanded this be done. Jim did it with a smile but assured me it wasn't needed. Install was quick and painless. Thank you so much, Jim!

I had 3 kitchen outlets stop working when overloading them with an indoor grill and a large toaster oven. The electrical panel outside the house was not labeled properly and I could not find the breaker that controlled the outlets. After switching each of them off and on, none of them fixed the problem.

After calling around for electricians Jim replied within half an hour to the Yelp request with an acceptable bid. Other electricians were either booked out 3-4 weeks, were more expensive, or cannot come out immediately. Jim came within 4 hours of answering my request.

He arrived exactly as promised, took the appropriate Covid precautions and put on boots to protect the flooring. After explaining the situation, Jim and his assistant quickly figured out which breaker controlled the 3 outlets and found that it was faulty. He explained the issue with my very old breaker panel, and offered a work-around for the broken hard-to-find breaker. The problem was fixed within half an hour. They were very professional, courteous, and had expert knowledge. I highly recommend EChiBon Electric and will definitely call them for future electrical needs.

I am so glad to have found EChiBon on Yelp! We hired Jim to install a Tesla Charger in the garage. He was very responsive and professional from the very beginning. His estimates were competitive. Initially, there was some misunderstanding about where the charger should be installed and he had to come twice. When Jim came the first time, he didn't have the right material to extend the charger away from the back of the panel to our desired location. I interviewed multiple companies for installing my Tesla Wall Connector. I am so glad that I chose Jim from E Chi Bon Electric for the installation. From the beginning, Jim was so courteous graciously answering all my questions on the phone. He was very easy to communicate with, explaining what I can expect. So I decided to setup a day and time for him to do the installation.

It's installation day, and Jim texts me about a 1/2 hour before installation time and says he is on the way. When Jim arrives, he shakes my hand and gets to work. WOW! I was in awe! If this was martial arts, he would be a Black Belt! Just watching the transformation of the Tesla Wall Connector in box to Tesla Wall Connector fully installed was a great experience. As I was watching, Jim answered all my questions and informed me as the installation went along. Jim is all about SAFETY. That is the only way - And I'm glad! The entire installation was very clean and very professional. But most of all, everything that was done, was done with SAFETY first and foremost. This call was to install a Nest Hello Camera Doorbell after a wire snapped and crawled back in the wall while I was trying to install it myself. Jim's quoted price was reasonable and better than other companies that I had called. After inspecting the situation he informed me he had to drill another hole in the stucco to trace the wire. No problem, except the wire wasn't there. He then told me he has to cut a hole in the drywall inside my house to find the wire. Let me include that nothing in my house is how it is supposed to be. The previous home owner, who was an engineer(not a contractor)rebuilt the house in 1990 after a Christmas tree fire. While most things in the house follow a line of logic, they are not how or where they're supposed to be. That being said, Jim had to cut 3 holes in the drywall to track down the wire. He installed a junction box and covered it with a cover plate, explaining that it will be easier to go back in later if needed rather than cutting open the wall again. He installed the doorbell where he drilled the stucco and patched the two other holes in the drywall. He swept the drywall dust on the floor and explained I would have to stucco patch the old doorbell hole and apologized for not having any. How polite is that? I was already happy he patched the drywall. The doorbell chime was not working right so he had to troubleshoot it but he figured it out. Overall it ended up being a much more difficult job and headache than anticipated, but he was polite and patient and did great work. He stuck to the agreed upon quoted price, only adding a small amount for the J box and cover plate. I will definitely be using this company for any electrical work that we need done in my house. I can do basic electrical work but I imagine I will be calling him soon for more projects. I am more than happy tto write this review and I will recommend this company to anybody I know that needs electrical work done.

I got an issue with my light -it doesn't work any more. After interviewed some of electricians and Jim is the one who has more patients for explaining all my questions in detail. And I also got many electric knowledges from him. So I decided to ask him to fix the issue for me. When he came, he put the cover on his boots and make everything is very clean and fast -thats my first image about him. Then he solved the issue very quick and also explain me how he did to me. Jim is the best electrician I have ever met. So professional, clean, found the problem quickly and also nice guy in patient. I'd like to recommend Jim if you need the best electric problem solver.

I called Jim yesterday as one side of our apartment had lost power and turning the switches in the fuse box was of no help. Jim told me to press the reset button on the outlet (the power went off when we plugged a device into an outlet in the bathroom), which I did and the lights came back on. Just before I had called him, I had called another electrician and explained the problem. He quoted me $299 for an after-hours call-out fee with an additional $60/30 minutes to fix the problem!! So you can see why I'm here recommending Jim! Thank you, Jim! I really appreciate your help and honesty!

Called Jim today on a Sunday afternoon. The 220V outlet for my electric dryer wasn't working. Jim offered to troubleshoot over the phone first to save me some money, and I was able to fix the problem within 5 minutes. It turned out there are additional circuit breakers at the main panel outside the house. I had only checked the breakers at the subpanel inside. Thanks, Jim!

Jim is fantastic. He could have charged me an arm and a leg for stopping by and getting my circuit breaker repaired, instead he walked me through it on the phone and did it all for free. Jim is the man if you are looking for an honest, patient, helpful, and reasonable priced electrician.
I had a problem with 2 rooms of outlet with no power. After trying to locate the source of the problem and failed, I called Jim. He was on a remodeling job and was not available at the moment to come out. He offered to help by providing me instructions on diagnosing the problem over the phone. This way, I may be able to save on his service call fee. This was very nice, helpful, and I learned some troubleshooting techniques.
I end up not been able to find the problem after trying due to time and other factors.
After he was available, he gave me a time and was punctual and polite.
He quoted me before coming in and how long it would take for him to find and fix the problem. Jim was right on both estimates.
I also admire that he would put on booty over his shoe to protect the interior of the home.
