I'm giving 2.5 stars bases on Yelp's description of the stars.  I will recommend to folks where cost is not an issue.

Gist: $540 ($490 with Military Discount) to replace a Pressure Reducing Valve.  The job took 1 hr from knock on the door to payment.  So that is 85.00 for the part and $405/hr labor (w/ fuel & prorated business costs).  

Call for quote before replacing PRV if you have the following:  Jack hammer sound when flushing any toilet or running any faucet.  I took the steps to clear a water hammer but the problem continued.  

Cons:
- Cost (Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me)

Your guy was great, he had the problem diagnosed as I was describing it. I'm guessing because he had the new part in his car that this is a fairly common issue.

Is this the first time you have replaced a PRV valve in the new residential Alamo Ranch Area?  No, probably not.   Valve was 8 inch below the surface and easily accessible.

He knew this was a quick job but I didn't. I asked how long it takes on average and he said I don't know, we have to dig.  I asked him how much that part normally runs and he said he didn't know because you don't buy from Home Depot.

Average cost w/ labor online in 350.  Add the 350 plus the 65.00 you charge for the visit without service, that is 415.  It was worth it, at that point, to spend the 75$ just to have it done now.   Again, I didn't know the cause before you came out, otherwise I would have compared quotes.

I would prefer that in the future you ask a fair price for jobs you have a good understanding of, not the I don't know, maybe it could cost 1 to 3 hour price.   That is the difference between 2.5 (ok) and 5 stars (great).

Fun fact:  Brain Surgeons make $175/hr. on average.

The water valve in my front yard needed to be replaced. The problem, it's rusted on and I couldn't get it off nor could my neighbor. I contacted Blue Lion and received the lowest quote of the five other plumbers I contacted.

The plumber, Martin, was here on time and was friendly. He had my valve replaced in no time and the price charged was the price quoted.

I was lucky to come across Brad for our plumbing job. Today he replaced the old water heater in my house. Brad is an honest man. The quote he gave over the phone is roughly the same I paid in the end. He also gave the option of me buying my own unit vs him providing one. I opted the former. We went to Home Depot and picked up all the equipment and accessories and he hauled them to the house. Brad is also nice to hang out with while he is doing his job. I chitchatted with him and had some good laughs.

I don't understand why there are more than one reviewer mistake him for someone else.  Those reviewers should get 1 star not Brad. If you discount those, Brad should have 5 stars because he provides 5 star service.  If you want a capable and honest plumber, look no further.  I know who to call first for my next plumbing job.

Well, we picked him for having the absolutely highest, almost unreally high Yelp rating - and guess what? - he really was that good. Hence my own 5-star review is here!

So, what was great: communication (phone, email, SMS), scheduling, details provided on projects, options given to us, willing to go the extra mile, etc. And yes, we felt that the prices were reasonable. We used him for 2 projects so far (sort of 2.5) and everything was great or better.

What was not so good? Seriously, I cannot think of anything. Hence a proper 5 star review!

People's Choice Plumbing has excellent customer service and their technicians are friendly and competent.  I hired People's Choice Plumbing to inspect and start a gas fireplace in their home.  I could not be happier with the result.  Great communication, on-time service, and my parents are happy!  The technician checked the gas line, turned on the fireplace and showed my parents how to light it.  We will definitely use People's Choice Plumbing for our future plumbing issues!  Thank you!

Our technician Nick came out this morning and beautifully installed our water softener after calling to set it up not even 24 hours before.  Alyssa was very helpful in answering my questions a few days before as well. Nick removed our old Whirlpool softener and cleaned the space, dried and wiped the water spilled from the old one, and installed the new softener like any OCD attentive person like myself would. It looks so clean and organized, even the power adapter cabling was stapled in. Just so satisfying. Pictures below. He even installed a new water cutoff valve and overall was top marks across the board. Never thought I'd be so excited about a water softener, but now I am! Looking forward to it.

I woke up to both of my bathrooms flooded and Santana plumbing company squeezed me in and within an hour found and fixed the problem. Prices arent bad, he finished in a timely manner,  and he even gave me info to help in the future. I'm so glad that I called them and they're local. They were great.

AWESOME service. Theo is a great plumber.  I called and they were out in an hour.  He cleaned the lines and one problem was fixed. He didn't want to cost me money to do something that may not work. Impressive. Thankfully the thing is did fixed my drain!  If you need service- call them. If you're in south Austin, this is the company to call!

I had a plugged up toilet for some time. The plumbers I spoke to said that the toilet had to be removed and it would be very expensive. A friend recommended Gilbert. He didn't have to remove the toilet, and the problem was soon solved. Plumbing services are always expensive, but Gilbert did the work for $200 less than the  other estimates. I was happy to write that check! I'm on Team Blue Dragon.

These guys are awesome! Came over with no issues to inspect my system and pointed out CO2 problem & were able to fix the system same day! Great service, great customer service, and great value! Noel & Jesse were professional, quick, and clean. Answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable about the HVAC system and explained why there was a problem & what it took to fix it. Andrew, from Mr. Rooter, was awesome! It wasn't my property, but I manage the maintenance for it. He called the tenant beforehand, then called me when he arrived and told me the total price. After accepted, he immediately started working on it. We had the kitchen faucet leaking a bunch of water. After he finished, voilá! No more leaking. If you request services from Mr. Rooter, ask them to send Andrew.

The 4 stars are because I found it a bit pricey (almost $400), but the service was good, quick, and reliable.

I went on yelp to look for assistance with my tub spout issues... it's stop working.   That's the diverter that changes the water from the tub to shower.
I looked at several people and companies but chose GUARANTEE PLUMBING & A/C they came and assessed the situation for $39 which they will apply to the overall cost ... (if you continue to use them).

They came in assessed what items they needed .. left to get the materials, returned promptly and replaced it and was out in less than 15 minutes. (yay)

The technicians were friendly and courteous.
They were mindful of the CDC requirements.
In addition, I had a toilet seat that needed tightening and they tighten it for me.
I just want to give them a YELP and say you can use them I think that they will do you right with your plumbing and air-conditioning needs.

In keeping with being transparent at first I was a little bit skeptical because I had read a couple of reviews that were negative about this company however,  I forged ahead and received positive results. I am sure you will as well. :)

I called AAA Auger due to a clog we experienced in our upstairs bathroom, the toilet would not flush and the shower would not draining either. The plumbing technician Mr. Charles was here in less than one hour and ready to work; he was courteous and professional. Mr. Charles was very persistent in unclogging the main drain line with the plumbing snake before considering removal of the toilet. His persistence unclogged the main drain line, thereby saving us a lot of money.  Thank you AAA Auger and Mr. Charles.

I'm not gonna lie, I've been eyeballing disposals since I moved into my new house. My old life did not involve a screen over my drain and produce matter in varying stages of decomposition in a compost bucket on our kitchen counter.

I didn't want one of those anemic one-third horsepower disposals. I wanted the sort of disposal that could safely dispose of such a disposal. I wanted something that takes rice and coffee grinds or an InSinkErator 1/3 HP Disposal and eats it for lunch. So I waited and eventually Costco had an American Standard on sale - running a whopping 1.25 horsepower for $69.99. Good luck installing it [cackle], the cashier said to me on the way out, as he laughed in an evil fore-shadowy manner. So rather then mess up my plumbing and causing a leak under my sink like last time I decided to hire a pro.

It's a garbage disposal Michael, how much can it cost to install, ten dollars?

Turns out its not that cheap. $250 from my plumber, the guy who has done work on my house before. I told him I would get a few quotes and call back, which was a lie.

Mr. Rooter thought my sink was made of gold or something, because they quoted me $240 - $340. Beyer plumbing: unable to provide a quote without a phone number, yuck. BG: $175. My plumber texts, he's down to $175 b/c he realizes I'm a repeat customer.

Meanwhile Pete from Elite responded quickly to the online quote request, was at $125 flat rate, and was able to schedule someone to be here in an hour or so even though my request was not a time sensitive one. It was a no brainer.

I had a second plumbing issue - a contractor had routed my dishwasher drain cord through a cabinet. Elite helped me fix that on-site as well at additional charge. Overall great service and I'm super happy with the disposal installation.

I called to schedule a service appointment. Gave them all the information about the property. They told me there would be a $75 fee because the unit is on the roof, although no other companies I have talked to charge this fee. I was told the scheduling person would call me back to confirm time. I get a call back about 30 minutes later and this person tells me they are not able to go today because my unit is on the roof and the technicians don't carry large enough ladders to get on roof. It's only a two story condo/townhome! Furthermore they told me since it requires a ladder to get on roof they won't be able to coordinate a technician to go out until Dec 19. Apparently it will take them 12 days to get a tech who has a ladder? Ridiculous!

I called roto rooter this afternoon for a clean out and I was told someone will contact me between 16:00-20:00 to confirm. I missed a call at 15:30 while I was on my way home. I called back as soon as I arrived at home like 15:50. They told me a dispatcher would call me back.  No one ever called me.  I called back at 1800 to see if someone is still making my service call. I was on hold for a long time again for a dispatcher to talk to me only to get the service rep come back saying they made several attempts to contact me and there was no answer.  I've been home since 15:50! I just canceled and went with someone else.  Don't waste your time with roto rooter! They keep you on hold and they don't adhere to schedule time of appointment and they lie cus no one there really wants to work!
