Our water heater gave up the ghost last night.  I checked review online and saw PlumbSmart.  I reached out to them and they had an assesser (Cody) onsite within an hour.  He diagnosed the issue and had a team out (Robert and Paul) in just a few hours.  They replaced the water heater and had us back up and running by early afternoon.

These folks did a great job with super great customer service.  We'll be using them again.

Asked for a quote to disconnect two 40gal water heaters, remove from attic and connect two tankless water heaters and a soft water system.  The technician (Gabe) and owner (Cody) were straight forward, professional and offered expert advice without trying to up-sale unnecessary options.  Highly recommend!!!!

First off, I've dealt with several Plumbing Companies in the last six months for various reasons.  Cody & PlumbSmart are by far the most professional & honest company I know.  

Joe came to my house & was honest, upfront & all around great guy.  He never once tried to push me into needing this done or letting them replace that.  In fact, Joe showed me what could be the issue causing a leak & an easy fix that I could do myself.  Due to this, I won't use any other Plumbing company & intend on using them again in the near future.  Two thumbs up!!!

PS - He said give them a call if I needed help or advice.

Arrived on time but couldn't fix the problem/-I thought it was a clogged hose in my dw, but he said it was the pump.  Had to call dw repair, but glad for diagnosis.  The dw repaiman came and confirmed the plumber's diagnosis and so made sure he had the correct part in hand so my problem was quickly fixed.

ETA: I have edited the review to add a photo that shows the written estimate that Cody sent me after we got off the phone. Before accusing a customer of lying, one would be smart to check their records and make sure they don't have proof to back up their claims. As noted, my initial interactions with this company left me feeling they were less than honest with their lack of transparent pricing. However, the harassment by Cody and Adam after leaving a 3-star review initially are what earned them a 1-star review. The reply to this one-star review below tells you all you need to know about Cody's character. In looking at other low reviews (to which PlumbSmart replied to every single one, blaming the customer), I now see that others have mentioned their high-pressure sales tactics. BUYER BEWARE!

P.S. Apparently this company works really hard to get Google to remove any review that is not 5-star, even when the review states facts and has receipts to prove it. I now realize PlumbSmart's 5-star rating on Google is not authentic. As Cody mentioned, Yelp does not allow businesses to bully or buy their way out of low reviews. Thank goodness!

Original Review: I reached out to this company for a quote for a water softener installation for our new home. The price I was quoted was $3,000 for the cheapest water softener they sell, plus an extra $2,000 for a carbon filter. That's high compared to other quotes, but no big deal. Companies can make up whatever price they wish.

The kicker for me was that I couldn't get a straight answer on the price to install a plumbing loop. I was told it would be between $800-$1500, but they would need to come out to the house to give me a price. Okay, that's fine. However, I was then told I was going to be charged $79 for a tech to come out to the house to tell me the price for the install. They advertise here on Yelp, Free Estimates, but apparently that is false advertising (see photo).

The final thing that didn't sit well is that they wanted me to commit to having the work done on the day that they came out to give the quote. I don't make a decision on a purchase that is over $6,000 on the spot. That is a very high pressure sales tactic. Ultimately, this made me choose another company.

That alone led to a 3-star Google review. However, after leaving that review, the two owners of the company, Cody and Adam, harassed me so much that I lowered my review to 1-star. What did that harassment look like? They collectively called and texted me TWELVE times in the span of one hour, calling from different numbers when I didn't answer the first number. They likely would have continued, but I blocked their numbers.

Clearly, they have some other good reviews, so I sincerely hope they were (both?) having an off day when they blew up my phone on Monday. However, based on the fact that they worked so hard to get me to take down my honest (3-star) review recounting my experience with their company, I question the legitimacy of their 5-star rating here. While I did not end up hiring them, my experience with them absolutely reflects their professionalism--or lack thereof. Every single person at this company makes you feel like you are their only customer. The tech that came to my house was super knowledgeable and explained the issues he found...then fixed them the same day! They charge fair prices and are all so nice and kind. These people have gone above and beyond for us. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are the only plumbers we will call from now on!

My water softener broke and flooded my garage. I called PlumbSmart. Within 30 minutes Robert & Paul were at my house helping. They were both friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I am so grateful I found this company on Yelp.

I recently had a new water heater installed as my last one kicked the bucket. At that install, the plumber advised that I should invest in a water softener.
Prior to this recommendation, I'd been thinking about investing in a water softener for some time. This is because living in a home with hard water has left scale and buildup on my appliances and fixtures as well  as has aggravated my son's eczema. Two days ago, I was doing my Yelply duties and giving shout outs to my fellow Yelpers and noticed one of my Yelp peeps left a glowing review for PlumbSmart.

After reading the review and looking into the company, I contacted PlumbSmart via the Yelp request a quote function on 2/1/22 and received a response from the business almost right away. I was contacted by Cody who asked what my needs were to determine what type of water softener system I required. During the conversation, I never felt soldor pressured to buy the most expensive product. After the decision was made on which system I intended to purchase, to my surprise, Cody was able to get Roger (the installer)  to my home within 24 hours to do the install. After the install, Cody called to ask if I had any questions and if I was satisfied. The level of customer service I received from PlubSmart is unparalleled.

Excellent work, service and in a timely fashion. I had company coming in and the owner came out and fixed my problem. Later, worker returned to install water softener and carbon filter and I'm happy I used them.

We needed our shower fixtures replaced and put out a quote request through yelp. Adam from PlumbSmart was the first to respond  - and also the nicest by far!

We had several responses, some crazy with outlandish prices (without even seeking to understand what we were looking for )  some expected from the known names in town but Adam took the time to chat to us, get an understanding of what we needed and gave us a reasonable estimate.

He is THE NICEST guy and for this alone I would like to give them my future business! He called when he was on the way, was timely and got the job done both expertly and quicky with no mess or fuss; and took the time to explain everything! New to the area and needed a plumber to fix two leaking toilets and a clogged sink at our new home. Thanks to handy dandy Yelp, I found Plumbsmart. I called the number and left my information with a receptionist. Shortly after, Roger reached out and quickly got us scheduled. He texted the day before to confirm time and texted the day of to let me know he's on the way and his ETA. He fixed all our problems so quickly and helped us with a wobbly faucet handle with ease. Very kind, polite, professional and answered all our questions. I definitely recommend Plumbsmart!

I have just had a plumbing repair done at my home by PlumbSmart. This was the first time I've used them, and I intend to be a repeat customer! I don't think I have ever experienced such amazing Customer Service. Everyone I dealt with at PlumbSmart was skilled, caring, and professional. I highly recommend them! I reached out to them about my plumbing problem, and within minutes, Roger called me and let me know that a technician would be scheduled.  Joe was right on time. He was very knowledgeable -- diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. I didn't feel pressured to have additional diagnostics or additional work done. Joe was sympathetic and caring. And even though the problem was simple for Joe to fix, I was truly amazed that the cost was so low.

My water heater in my rental home went out while my tenant was away to tend to her health. I needed a company to come in as soon as possible to replace it with a reliable option, great warranty and fix a broken exterior pipe from the freeze. We have used PlumbSmart several times over the last few years. I have to say, they have extremely competent plumbers, but they are also the nicest, most respectful group of people I have ever dealt with in a company. Very rare. I highly recommend PlumbSmart.

I called and spoke with someone who could not look at schedule and speak on the phone.  Had to hang up to check schedule.  Also never gave a quote.  Even though they are the closest company nearby location shows they need to update their abilities to handle business better.  This review is in their customer service only!!.

My wife spotted one of those dreaded Sunday water leaks at the side of our house two days ago. My usual plumbers, who are good, were not open on Sunday but we had quite a geyser coming out our  water softener pipe. I researched on Yelp and came across Plumbsmart. From the company's answering service to Cody, the owner of the company to Joe the service tech., the service was outstanding and the leak was fixed within two hours from my initial call. I was impressed with the work, the people I spoke to or met. I now see why their reviews are so highly rated.  I have a feeling the leak started several days ago and eventually split the pipe and became Old Faithful because the water pressure inside the house has increased remarkably.

Needed some plumbing issues corrected in a home we bought 2 years ago. Called and CEO Cody called me back. Told him I needed new garbage disposal, PVC pipes under kitchen sink replaced, and 2 new comfort toilets installed and the old ones taken away. He was able to give me a price over the phone and by the way, it was $600 less than all the other quotes I got. I was skeptical because of the lower price but because I like Cody's demeaner I decided to give PlumbSmart a shot. Boy, I'm glad I did!! They set an appointment for 4 days in advance and on the day of the work Ryan came over with his van and did all the work in less than four hours. I even asked Cody if he could clear the main drain from the house to the street and Cody said he would have Ryan run a camera down the drain and if there was not a problem, there would be no charge, Just shoot Ryan a tip, which I did!.
My experience with PlumbSmart from beginning to end was 5-star. I never felt like I was getting ripped off like with other companies. Cody was upfront and to the point, Ryan was on time and did the work in a timely fashion, and even got a call from Adam, the owner, asking if I was satisfied with the work and thanking me for my business.

they installed a new in line water filter for us and unclogged a bathtub drain in a rental. Very reliable and reasonable rates. Pleasant to do business with.

Moved into older house that we knew needed wtr htr replaced.  The sticker on it said 1991.  This is 2022.  R u serious???  Just didnt know how fast we needed it.  It started leaking but probly had been like that for awhile unbeknownst to us.  Thats an emergency!  I contacted PlumbSmart, spoke to Ebony who took down all my information and said would have someone contact me soon.  Ebony was friendly, pleasant and professional.  Probly like in minutes, Cody contacted me, gave me a quote which I thought was reasonable.  He was even able to get someone out there the same day.  Sent me Ryan.  He was all business, professional, friendly, efficient.  New wtr heater is now installed and code compliant-has water pan and expansion can.  So glad I found PlumbSmart.  Will def call them for anything plumbing.  Totally recommend them.  You wont be sorry.

I am so impressed with this company. I reached out on a Saturday for assistance via Yelp and the manager, Cody responded within a few minutes.
He explained to me over the phone what needed to be done and was very upfront and honest regarding price and materials needed.
The manager gave me a date and really worked around my schedule as my husband and I work in schools.
On the date provided, his plumbers got stuck on a job and so he himself came out because he promised me a date and delivered.
You can tell he's just a very honest guy trying to do honest business.

I recently moved to San Antonio and have a water softener and water filtration system that I was unfamiliar with their operation along with a hot water/low pressure issue. Co-owner Cody called me back and FaceTimed me going over the workings of the water softener and helped me fix over the phone! Then came himself about an hour and a half after my initial call and explained my water filtration system in detail and troubleshot  my hot water/ low pressure. Gave me an estimate on repair and replacement of hot water heating system. Spent over an hour and a half no charge! Who does this?? I was floored. I decided to go with his suggestion and his crew was there the next day in the freezing cold. They were professional and efficient.
Needless to say I found my plumbers and consider Cody a friend.

After discovering a leak pouring down the side of my 21 year old water heater at 10:30pm on a Saturday night, I first tried to turn off the gas before turning off the water, but feared I may have just turned off the flame since I could not turn the dial completely to off. The situation could not have seemed more urgent. I called a plumber I had used many years ago, and got voicemail. I called a local San Marcos plumber with good Yelp ratings, and again voicemail. Since PlumbSmart could not have been more highly rated on Yelp, I called them next even though they are physically located in New Braunfels.

The CEO himself, Cody Blackmon, answered the phone. He immediately talked me through some emergency procedures as though I was the only person who mattered in the world at that point, and had me text some photos. The bleeding was stopped. Longer story short, I knew it was time for a new water heater, and by mid-day the next day, Sunday, PlumbSmart had a plumber quality (higher quality than retail as I understand it) AO Smith water heater right-sized for my home's need and installed in a first-class professional way. There are many other plumbing issues we are subsequently in the exploration stage on from longstanding needed repairs to effectively dealing with hard water.

I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have discovered Cody's PlumbSmart company.  If availability and quick response time, professionalism, great listening skills, thoroughness, caring, uniquely adaptive solutions, and win-win outcomes are important criteria, please know that describes my experience with this firm.

I'm just a tad delayed in writing this post but that doesn't meant I didn't get great service from PlumbSmart. My water heater decided to wait till Memorial Day weekend to leak. I called several places and PlumbSmart was the only one open AND willing to come out to help me. Adam came over within a few hours and helped me out. He was professional yet friendly. The whole deal took two days to complete bc of the holiday. I didn't know until the end of day one that Adam is the owner. He was short handed so he took the call himself. The next day he and his partner, Roger, came back with all the necessary parts and finished the total replacement. I had no one else to help with the leak and it meant the world to have them there for me. Thank you so much Adam and Roger! So if you need plumbing services, call them!!!!

I had a leaking water heater that started slow and became progressively worse - Cody was able to move things around and get Joe out to see me the next day for an assessment.  The new water heater installation happened the very next day with Joe and Roger and it works great!  Can't thank Cody, Joe, and Roger enough for the fast action and quality install.  Highly recommend PlumbSmart!

My second experience with PlumbSmart and they were terrific AGAIN!!
First time, they replaced our hot water heater in the attic and completed the job in excellent fashion with no wall dinged or any real problems/issues.  Cody has always been outstanding in working with us to provide reasonable quotes and win our business.  The second experience was replacing the hot water heater in our garage.  Ryan showed up on time, was professional and cordial and completed the work with no problems ... we replace a 40 gallon tank with a 50 gallon tank and all appears to be working well.  We've never had so much hot water in the house!!  However, in the process, Ryan discovered that our water softener was not performing properly.  Both the hot water head and the water softener had 19 years on them, so we were not surprised, but thankful they had lasted the long.  The original water softener came from another company that ONLY does water softeners.  We called them and they gave us an excellent quote over the phone, but had to schedule installation over a week out. My wife had suspected that the old water softener was performing weakly because it affected her hair and her skin itched (of course, guys, she was right!!).  Cody had provided a quote for a new softener, but the other company actually beat PlumbSmart by a significant margin.  Cody refused to give up and agreed to meet the price.  Ryan came the very next day and did the install of the water softener.  We admire a company that really wants our business and is willing to not only work with us, but do exceptionally good work!!  We're very pleased with Cody and PlumbSmart .... folks, all we can tell you is that they do what they say their going to do.  And, believe us ... we've experienced very unreliable and poor service from other plumbing companies.  PlumbSmart is a winner hands down.  We only hope they continue with their service attitude and fairness ... that being the case, we have our plumbers for life!! These guys are the plumbers I have used in over 42 years in my home. I had two este heaters installed in addition to a hot water recirculating pump to get instant hot water at the faucets. They are responsive, efficient and reasonably priced. They want you to be satisfied and will bend over backwards to do so. I very highly recommend this plumbing company. Adam, Gabriel, Cody, Roger, Ryan are all terrific people.

PlumbSmart was quick to come to my house to evaluate my slow drain issue.  They were exorbitant and high pressure.  I told them I could not afford to pay $26,500 for the repair.  Another plumber says their quote was 3 times what it should be.  Unable to be able to use them since I am not able to pay that much.

Bless my soul!  I had no idea a business like this could actually exist in this day and age.  The fantastic reviews led us to call these fellows and let me verify, they are legit.  I can't say enough good things about this company to do them justice.  They sent someone out to our house sooner than I expected, identified the problem and helped us find a solution for so much less than I'd feared.  All my prior experience with plumbers was negative, so this was a wonderful surprise.  Plumb Smart is an aptly named company that I would definitely use again and highly recommend.

These guys... first I used them, and relied on their advise, for the selection and installation of our water softener. Not only did they choose the right softener for our home but, they chose the one that meet exactly what we needed without trying to get us to spend our money on the top dollar unit.

Then, on a Sunday evening, they quickly responded to a broken pipe emergency at our home within almost an hour of us reaching out to one of their techs personal phones.

Initially there was a communication problem but Cody, the CEO, quickly straightened thins out.  From then onthey were attentive, on time, and did great work.  We'll definitely use them again!

The CEO took my call and was very easy to communicate with, transparent, and very helpful in setting up an appointment. I never felt like I was being rushed off the phone or ignored. They made an appointment for a day or two out so not a long wait. They were able to addressed some issues I had all in one visit. They communicated well throughout the entire process, and stayed until the job was done. I highly recommend PlumbSmart for any plumbing needs.

Roger has come by my house multiple times and has provided excellent service. Always honest, up front and very communicative with me. Roger is the guy to ask for when you need a plumber.

My standard line is, plumbers are worth every nickel they extort from us. In this instance, however, not only was the service fast and professional, but I wasn't extorted: the fee was very reasonable.

Particularly as it was done on Saturday, they responded quickly and arrived in less than two hours. And Roger Morin, the guy that showed up, is a prince. I had to hurry him out the door before my wife adopted him.

All in all, a great find.

Initially had them come out to get my water heater up to code and install a water softener on the house we just purchased. Once we moved in we found out the drain line from the washer was broken underground. The cost to fix one portion was only 1/3 of what the cost would be to redo the entire house's drain lines so we did it.  While digging they noticed that my sewer line was broken so they replaced the entire line.  Adam (one of the owners) was great with communication and keeping me aware of the progress.  Overall they did a great job.  I had some issues with the contractor they used to dig but Adam, and Cody went above and beyond to make things right. They have gained a customer for life.

Water heater wasn't working.  They came out same day fixed the issue (caused by the recent storm) and saved the water heater.  Outstanding customer service.  Will definitely call them again if I need a plumber!

Had a leak in our outdoor shower over the weekend!  Adam, the owner, got here promptly, made the repair and was so helpful in recommendations and showing us how to deal with our high-tech plumbing appliances! LOVE THIS GUY!!!

With an older house, we were too familiar with plumber services after two slab leaks. Working with the staff at PlumbSmart was reassuring from start to finish.  Our call to request an estimated was returned promptly. Cody came out within a day and provided an estimate that was thorough and reasonable. Further, he patiently answered questions and made reasonable suggestions to improve on what we needed to do. The two plumbers who did the work were fabulous - professional, trustworthy and reliable. Overall, an epic  effort and success in repiping our house.

I'm new to San Antonio and found myself in need of a plumber on a holiday no less. I knew from past experiences that a holiday was going to cost me. But I was staying at my sons new house and the shower was backing up and the hot water heater was not working. I needed help now. So not knowing anything about San Antonio I went to Yelp to find a plumber. I chose PlumbSmart because of the reviews and I'm so glad I did. The owner Adam came out to help me. He fixed the shower and unfortunately the hot water heater was a goner. This is where Adam confirmed the reviews that were posted on Yelp. He didn't charge me for clearing the drain! But what he did do was help me with a bigger problem and that was the whole plumbing system was in bad shape. He was kind and realized that I need an honest assessment and that's what he gave me. He also followed up to make sure I was ok while I called my husband in another state. He gave me an honest quote and he truly cared about my situation. He never tried to hard sell me!! I got a second quote and it was exactly the same. The other plumber was cold and didn't appear to care.

Roger came and gave me the estimate.  Matt came to fix a major leak. He was efficient and industrious, very customer oriented, professional and friendly.  So I decided to ask them to upgrade my outside pipes to prevent them bursting in freezing weather and also install a water softener. Matt had to turn off the water,of course, but this left debris in the faucet filters, etc., which he also fixed. The whole project was more expensive than I expected, but Roger gave me a discount because I hired them for the large project. I was very pleased with their work and would hire them again.

AWESOME Service!! PlumbSmart (Cody) was responsive in getting us scheduled and sending the tech (Gabe).  Gabe was AMAZING!!  We have had hot water and water pressure issues for 5+ years in our NEW house.  Not naming any names, we have hired 3 so-called Big Name Plumbing companies, the kind that have commercials on TV all the time, having spent over $2,000...NONE of them fixed the issues and just said that it was the pressure coming to the house and that possibly the tankless water heater or the water softener may be the issue. PlumbSmart (Gabe) did a little more investigation and found that it was an issue with the install from the very beginning!  Within 2 hrs, Gabe had ALL our showers working properly, hot water working, and he solved the pressure issue (water hammer) by adjusting the Hot Water Arrestors (which we did not know about), which should have been done by the contractors who installed the plumbing system.  THANK YOU to PlumbSmart for employing technicians who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!  So glad we found PlumbSmart!

Fast, efficient estimate and on-time scheduling. All of the people are easy to deal with, explain (in layman's language) the issue and possible ways to address the problem. The next time I need a plumber, these guys will be the first call.

We had an issue with the main sewer line going from our house to our aerobic septic system. It was clogged. PlumbSmart (Gabe) came out when scheduled and had it fixed in less than 20 mins. Very responsive, competent and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and will use again in future for any/all of our plumbing needs. Thanks!

My husband and I are first time homeowners and clueless when it comes to basic home repairs/upkeep. Our water was shut off for a day before we moved in, and since it was turned back on one of the toilet tanks wouldn't refill after flushing. We specifically asked for a Septic Company to pump out our septic tank and after making a phone appointment I get another message that says they don't do that type of service.

PlumbSmart was able to fix the crack pipe problem that happened due to the freezing temperatures. My outdoor pipe cracked due to the freezing temperatures. I talked with Cory and explained the problem. A technician was dispatched to my home within 2 hours. Roger was courteous and corrected the problem promptly. I will definitely use PlumbSmart for any further plumbing issues or changes in the future.

A big thank you to PlumbSmart. We've had water problems since we moved into our home almost 5 years ago. They diagnosed the problem, our water softener not connected correctly, and help us make decisions to fix it. Long story short: they diagnosed, fixed, and got us water pressure, clean water in one day. Had a leak the day before we were moving to New York.  Called and talked to Cory in the morning ,in 45 minutes Ryan was at my front door.  He found the leak , fixed the leak, taped the area up that he had been forced to cut in the wall and cleaned up completely.  Super pleasant young man who knows his stuff.  Cory was easy and pleasant to deal with too.  Two thumbs up for Plumb Smart!

I had a major issue on a Friday night at about 9 o'clock that came to light on Saturday morning around 7 AM with my water supply to my home being completely dead. After calling around to more than a dozen companies Adam from PlumbSmart. Adam was incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and ready and willing to help me with my small water emergency. Even though the trouble it turned out to be was not his area of expertise he was resourceful enough to team me up with providers who could professionally solve my issue; he even followed up with me over the next 2 day to make sure I was completely taken care of. Cody was thorough, professional, personable, and cost-conscious.  I had two major water leaks on the opposite sides of my home.  He resolved both of them in a blink of an eye.  I now consider this company a part of my Homeowner Smart Defense; to handle all of my future plumbing needs.  Use them and you not be disappointed!

On a Friday night my tenant called stating that there was an unknown leak, she stated, it sounded like it was raining inside, and the ceiling in the living room was falling down. I was frantically calling emergency plumbers and I left a message with Plumb Smart (not expecting a call back). Within ten minutes I received a call back and within an hour the owner, Adam, was at my house! He was genuinely  empathetic, kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He immediately located the leak and arranged to have the repair made the next morning. He referred me to a restoration specialist, who is also awesome, and they were there the next day as well. Since I am out of town, he sent me photos of the damage, the repair and the cleanup. Adam communicated everything that was happening at my house and was super helpful. After the repair was made, the bill was incredibly reasonable.  I have several rental properties and have dealt with many different plumbers but I have never had such a positive experience. If I could give them 6 stars I would!

Spoke with Adam and Cody initially over the phone to get a quote to get a water softener loop installed and to install the water softener I had bought. They were both friendly and informative. Also, they were patient with me since I know nothing about plumbing. They came out when scheduled and ran the numbers and the price was similar to the other quotes I have received from other plumbers. PlumbSmart was not selling any BS to me so seemed like a good fit to go with them and glad I did. I did forget the plumbers name who actually came to my house but he also was kind and did a good job from what I can tell. Also, this guy worked in the rain, even though he was in the garage most of the time but time to time he did go to his truck for some items. Overall, I had a good experience and will call again for any plumbing needs.

Our water heater was making lots of popping noises and the water pressure in the house was not great. I talked to Adam on the phone about all my available options. Cody came out the next day and checked everything and again went over all my options and pricing. We decided to get the water heater replaced along with the water pressure regulator and Carlos came out and did a fantastic job. It all went smoothly and efficiently. Everyone was extremely polite and friendly...couldn't have been a better experience...will definitely use again!

Had a busted pipe in front yard and while others didn't respond to voicemails or said it would be days to come fix, PlumbSmart responded quickly and was here within 24 hours. Cody has great communication skills and Carlos was very professional and did a great job fixing my leak. I definitely recommend their services.
