I HIGHLY recommend Main Man. We had a sprinkler company in to turn on our system. They broke the valve which turns the water off and on and then high tailed it out of here when they realized that the also couldn't locate the main water valve in the street to turn the water off. We called a few people and one company who has multiple yelp positive reviews said we would need to open up the street and change all the pipes as well as replacing the main pipe in the house. They said they would have to rip up our blue stone and would not be responsible for any damages. They also said it would take 2 days and cost nearly $14,000. We called Scott at Main Man and he called us immediately. He came in SAVED the day. He did his homework and knew exactly where the main outside valve was. He told us the pipes outside were fine and did not need replacing. He turned off the water, changed the inside pipe and was out of here in 4 hours for less then  half of what the other company quoted us. If you want someone who is super honest, fast and a PRO. . Natasha, Hans, and the owner, Robert are the most professional, and respectful team I have ever encountered in this industry. They were extremely reliable and attentive. Robert clearly and patiently explained my issue and the step by step process of how to resolve the problem. Their prices are very fair for NYC. I spoke to no less than 14 other plumbing companies before I confirmed my appointment with Star Cities. I would unquestionably hire them again and recommend them to anybody who needs and wants excellent service.

He came to put my radiators in place. He did the job I paid him. I have since called him twice, he gives me an appointment time then does not show up. I am wondering if my color skin has anything to do with his behavior since there wasn't any problems when he came to replace radiators.

Discovered leak from pipe in crawlspace.  Temporarily stopped it by shutting water supply to toilet. Called Platinum Plumbing and Peter was affable, and immediately available. He arrived right on time early in AM AND QUICKLY repaired the failed PVC joint .  He was extremely accommodating and very skilled.  I asked him to check a sound coming from toilet and he discovered malfunctioning fill valve.  He offered to come baxk same day or make a new appointment, my choice.  His price was very fair, and his immediate response and helpful attitude were refreshing. Highly recommended!!

Called this company for an emergency (heat stopped working). They came in 10 mins and was very professional. Did a great job and will definitely use them again. 5/5 stars

Our kitchen sink was not draining well so I called these guys in the morning and spoke with their answering service, in less than 2 hours Dominic and his partner were at my door (granted their shop is not far from us). They quoted me two prices, best case and worse case scenarios. They tried the first fix, it didn't work, so proceeded to remove the trap to snake the line. That didn't work completely the first time, but two more attempts did the trick and some nasty stuff came out. The drain seems to work fine now. I paid the quoted price and am satisfied with the plumbing work. I appreciated their diligence, the only complaint I have is they severely scratched my hardwood floors, (originally I thought they were just scuffs on the floor from the work boots, but they have proven to be permanent). I'm now not sure if it was their boots or other equipment that made the marks, but I have been unable to buff or clean them off. My original 5 star rating has been reduced to 3, as I will now have to hire someone to fix the floor.

I rarely leave reviews, yet I felt it important in this case so people get a balanced opinion. I hired Colin Lee for a plumbing job based solely on his 5 star reviews. I was extremely disappointed. I hired him to evaluate my kitchen drain as it was draining slowly. As reviews indicated, he is personable and wore shoe covers into my apartment, so I was already sold. He looked at my kitchen and bathroom sinks and snaked a small portion of the drain under my sink. When he did not clear the obstruction, he told me the blockage was well distant to my apartment (I live on the second floor of an old Brownstone). He said the problem was likely in the walls below my apartment or in the basement. As this was a job beyond his scope, he said I would need a larger plumbing company. He charged me $50 for his time and went on his way. I understood and initially thought this all seemed reasonable.

I then called a different plumber, who came the next day. I told the second plumber what Colin had said. The new plumber was certain it needed to be snaked and that Colin had not done an adequate job. The second plumber spent about an hour and thoroughly snaked my kitchen pipes. He cleared the obstruction and the water drains perfectly.

I then contacted Colin and let him know that my pipes just needed additional snaking and were now fine. I was hoping he would do the right thing and at least return my $50. Instead, he stuck to his original explanation. He said From my experience it seems like the issue I explained, and in my experience the issue generally returns in a week or 2 even if you think the clog is gone. It has been two weeks and my sink drains beautifully.

I assume Colin is OK for very simple jobs.....although, by plumbing standards, my job was relatively simple. If you have any job that is remotely complicated, look elsewhere.

Excellent service ! The men are efficient , very professional , quick ,  thorough , polite . My plumbing issue was resolved beautifully . I've used this company prior to this problem and will continue to do so with any / all future plumbing troubles I'm sure to encounter . Hats off to James Bond & St Michael !

Responded very quickly (and over a weekend) and sent someone over within hours. Did a great job replacing a broken drain pipe and fixing damaged dry wall so it looked good as new!

They sent a plumber quickly for a pressing problem, which as great. But the guy snaked a drain, got two feet then said we needed to bring in a high pressure pump and camera as he couldn't do anything. He said he hit rocks and couldn't get past them. As we waited for the pump guy, I had another guy come and he snaked the main first, then the drain and boom. The new guy got through the rocks no problem.

They provide exceptional and quick Backflow testing at a competitive price.  Tom went above and beyond to resolve additional issues arose after the testing. He is courteous and walked me through step by step to get the work done. Highly recommended to anyone who needs Backflow testing!

Very friendly plumber, helped me with an outside faucet that had burst inside the wall took him about 15m to fix.

Called them after having snakes my pipes twice to no avail - basement toilet kept overflowing and water not reaching sewer - several plumbing companies were offering major jobs costing several thousands. I called urgent drain, they came, and worked on it immediately - they fixed it for a great price - no tearing up the floor or re doing pipes or unnecessary expenses .... That was 2 weeks ago and basement is dry and all is good!!!

Three weeks ago I had contracted Cheap John's to clear a stoppage,by the time he got here the water went down but I asked him to service my sewer anyway. He went to his truck and came back with a hand drill operated snake with auger which you would use for a sink. When I  pointed out that the auger w as to small and snake to short he assured don't worry it's guaranteed. Well it backed up again and when I called he said it would be $90. When I told him it was still under the 30 day coverage. He said that's only during business hours.
If you are looking for a company to do the job the first time don't call Cheap John.

Guy tells me on the phone that they have the cartridge for a specific toilet flush system.  He sounded dismissive and like he didn't know what he was talking about, so I asked three times, even though he tried to hang up on me, if it was the cartridge they had.  He says yes then hangs up.  Walk over there and it's the handle not the cartridge.  Another guy working there acknowledged what an idiot the person I dealt with was and tried to help but they didn't have the part.  I'm not a plumber, but I know how to fix a toilet and the exact parts I need to do so.

Steer clear of this place.  They don't want to be bothered by non-plumbers.
