Mike Hickey answers his phone, is prompt, and does great work. What else can you ask for? We've hired him for adding baseboard heat, extending a gas line, and a bathroom plumbing remodel. The jobs were done on time and were of high quality. I highly recommend his company, and will definitely call him next time we need a plumber for anything. Don't waste any time, just trust me and call Mike first!

Had a toilet leak, so I thought. Ended up being a bigger issue than I thought but they were very helpful with the mess. Explained the situation and were very reasonable with fixing the problem. Would recommend and will use again.

We've had a few repairs completed by Jeff and he is excellent. He is trustworthy and provides honest evaluation of the problem. Prices are fair and he always fixes things on the spot! We highly recommend!

They are on time and good at what they do, only issue for me is they are expensive. Or maybe I am just too out dated on the labor cost nowadays. Either way I was not aware their rate $350 per hour for two people and I was shocked when I received the bill. How stupid was I, making small talk and consulting for future work while paying them at that rate.

I found these guys on Super Pages looking for a fire place for my addition, I decided to go into the store and met with the owner/sales guy Mike. He was very helpful from the start and knowledgeable about all his products. He helped me pick out the best fire place for my house. It was a little more money then I wanted to spend but I have to say Mike was right it was the perfect one to get! I didn't think I would use it as much as I do either, thanks Mike

I have finally found a great plumber! I requested a quote through Yelp for replacing a toilet and immediately got a response from Ryan. Rather than blindly believing that I did new a new toilet (as I was told I did by another lazy and overpriced plumbing company), Ryan asked that I text him a picture of inside my toilet tank. He quickly diagnosed the need for a new flapper rather than a totally new toilet! We made an appointment and I now have a working toilet! I highly recommend Ryan!!

I was a loyal customer for years, but have seen them go downhill over the last few visits. Most recently, I described a simple job to them on the phone and they quoted me an hourly rate. However, once the job was done, I was asked to pay a ridiculously large amount of money and told that this particular work carried a fixed fee. It was a fifteen minute job for them. If I had known the cost to me, I would have done it myself even if it required a couple of hours.
Details:
(1) The job required one part. I could have purchased the exact same part myself for half of what they charged me.
(2) They did the job poorly and had to come back to fix it. Even worse, they tried to blame us for messing it up after they left, which is not true--we just turned on the water to make sure all was well.
(3) They left a big mess on both visits, which we had to clean up.
(4) They were rude.
I had great experiences with this company in the past, with their plumbers being courteous, skilled, and reasonable in cost. Unfortunately, it seems that era has passed.

Had a new oil furnace installed, and for some reason, despite the new unit being about half the size of the old one, the installers decided to leave all of the old piping in place and just sweat new fittings onto the ends and route them over to the new unit, leaving a bit of a weird tangle of pipes in place.
I could live with most of the mess, but one pipe in particular stuck way out into the room in front of the unit by about 18, from the ceiling and down for about 3' before being routed back to the unit again.
This made it a hazard, as well as an eyesore, and I wanted it corrected, but when I mentioned it to the installers when I inspected the job at the end of the day, they just started giving me a hard time and making all kinds of excuses.
Basically, they were tired at the end of a long day, and didn't want to do anything else, and in their thinking the job was done, the unit was functional, and they weren't going to do anything else. So, it was up to me to get it straightened out.
I was tired of arguing, and figured It was really a very simple job. Less than an hours work, and very little material, so how much could it cost, right?
2 cuts in a pipe to shorten it by about 2', put an elbow on it, then sweat 2 new pipes about 2' long in place, one more elbow and and one fitting. Done.
So, basically, whatever anyone's rate is for 1 hour of time, and the cost of 4 feet of 1 copper pipe (or just reuse the old pipe), 2 elbows, and one fitting...
That's all the job is.
All I'm trying to do is to move one very badly placed and routed pipe to be directly in line with the fitting it goes to. Very simple job.
Obviously, someone misunderstood what I was looking to have done (or so I initially thought), because the quote I got from David Calzini was an unbelievable $1,200...! to shorten a pipe by about 2'...
I don't know of anyone who can afford a guy who thinks he can justify $1,200 for an hours worth of work, and about $10 in materials.
There are lots of reputable, established, high-quality plumbers out there, and no one else bid more than $400 for this job, with a couple saying they could probably do it for about half that...
My advice: Avoid this guy.

I would highly recommend Mike. He is very nice, dependable, respectful of your time (will call if running late) and does great work. It was a really good experience hiring him.

It's never ideal to need someone in an emergency but yesterday we woke at 3:30 to find 4.5 inches of water in our entire basement and a non functional sump pump (thanks previous owners!). I frantically called every plumber with a '24 hours' next to their name.
By 6am I had been lead on, and around by 3 different companies. One told me to do it myself (that's helpful) and one had given me an outrageous quote of 575 dollars (that's with me providing the pump). While in Lowes I got a call from Lee (from this company) and he said he could come about 11-12 ish depending on two small jobs before it. He said that quote before was insane it would not cost that much. So we continued to surface pump, shop vac, and bail water in the meantime to try to get the level down as much as we could.
The only part of all of this that would maybeee have made me take a star off (but I won't) was when Lee and his assistant arrived he looked into the basement and goes, 'Oh I don't think I can work in this' which was only a 1/4 inch of water left on the floor. I think he saw the exhausted looks on my husband and my faces (we had been standing in this cold, deeper, water all night) and continued.
He liked my selection of sump pump (thanks) but needed a fitting and some PVC because the one attached was fragile and snapped on him. So they ran to Lowes and grabbed what they needed and we had a working sump pump that basically eliminated the rest of the water in 10 minutes. It's been running about ever minute since then, for almost 24 hours, so that's why we had the flooding in the first place. He charged us 250 which I thought was pretty fair. I'm sure had I not had this done in an emergency situation it would have maybe been a bit less but it again it was emergency, and a Saturday.
See the difference with charging someone out the nose when they're in crisis is that's a one time job. Lee and this company will likely hear from me again for other jobs in the future because they were honest, and fair and didn't take advantage of someone in a tough situation.

I would totally recommend Rich Mathews & son for any of your plumbing and heating needs
Rich saved our vacation this year and after the COViD lock down we needed it.
It was Sunday night on the first day of our vacation when my daughter called and said there was no hot water in the house. Having a burnham he furnace ,not many plumbers work on them. I google searched and found Rich Mathews. I sent an email and he immediately called back. We talked for a while about the situation. He knew what the problem probably was and told me he wasn't going to be able to help right away, I said I could wait ,but he knew someone who could get there sooner. This was about 8 pm on a Sunday night. He gave me the number of a guy he just spoke to that could help. Within 10 min. Andy DelloRusso called me. Rich had told him of my situation and was able to come out the next day to make the furnace repair.I never expected such a kind gesture to give a job away so a potential customer would be able to get immediate service.
Thank you Rich!

I called Dan first thing in the morning, he returned my call by mid morning and was installing my hot water heater by mid afternoon. I have been between plumbers for awhile, it's hard to pick the right one. God knows I should have yelped the last crazy, with a capital C guy that I picked! Several calls around, Dan was strait forward and the best price! The work was done within the hour, and the cellar was left neater than when he arrived! I was referred to him by my neighbor, who called everyone in the book last winter when his heat went out. Dan was the only one who returned his call and then came out to see if he could get it going on a Sunday. I am no longer in between plumbers. Dan and his right hand guy Brian are definitely the guys you want to call.

If there was a sixth or seventh star, Jim would get it. He's absolutely incredible.
Our boiler went out in the middle of a cold snap, and we had pipes crack in the house. Jim was there that same day, and within 48 hours had removed the ancient boiler and installed a new high efficiency boiler / on demand hot water system that is a work of art. It hangs off the walls, but looks like it should be hanging in a museum.....
Not only is his work exceptional, but he's just a great guy. He's professional, friendly, honest, reliable and takes time to explain what's going on in language that even I understood. He's the only guy I'm calling moving forward, and I highly recommend him.
Thanks Jim!

Trying to keep tenants happy in a 100+ year old 2 family when you live several hours away can be frustrating to say the least. However, Charlie King consistently and fairly makes my life easier by performing repairs and fixing problems, quickly and without breaking the bank. He is as good as it gets, everyone should be so lucky as to have FA King & Sons as their plumbers.

Sharon and tom Wright.
Came to our home with the hot water heater without coming days before and charging for a extra visit. Spent the day, fixed other issues without extra charge, and were polite and fairly priced. Highly recommend.
Can you call me re: the ice maker? Can't stand living without ice. Those cheap little ice cube trays are making me crazy.
Not your regular service, but trust you can help.
Thx, Sharon n Rip

Woke up to a busted water heater. They were at my home in 10 minutes & diagnosed the problem quickly. Water heater replaced under warranty with 4 years left on the new one. Extremely professional & cleaned up water. A pleasure to deal with. Great guys.

My awesome experience with Boston Standard started with Leo coming out to give me an estimate on replacing my 20 year old HVAC system. He was professional, highly knowledgeable, articulate and the same day he sent me 3 proposals from which to choose. He guided me through the process and was spot on. Then the install came with Frank and Jose arriving on time as scheduled for a 2 day process. They were professional, thorough, neat, informative and extremely competent. Once the installation was completed they reviewed everything with me on operating the system, cleaned up after themselves and could not have been any more professional. These three men epitomize excellence.

I used this company a few years back. I wasn't impressed. They never did diagnose my problem. But by far the worst was the prices. There is no need to charge these prices. There is nothing reasonable about them. In simple language they are outrageous. There is a reason they won't tell you a full price before the job...you would run fast. I always read the worst reviews first. They are the most honest. Have you ever seen a company and their relatives write a bad review about themselves. I found a few suspect reviews on Waldmans site. Anyone who said prices were great is either senile or a family member.

I have never felt so disrespected and unsafe in my own home. The plumber nearly pounded down my door scaring me and my child when he came. I had no idea he was coming, my ex husband called and only told me 5 mins before he came. Then he proceeds to give me attitude when he comes in I had no idea what he was going to check or what he was going to look at he doesn't tell me either. Then he takes the lid off the tank of the toilet and half flushes the toilet and says the toilet is running. I said well its running because you just half flushed it and the tank didn't finish filling up. So then I fully flush it wait till it fills up no sound. The guy got all mad because I said I don't hear any sound. What did this guy think I was dumb. I'm sitting there in disbelief that this guy is trying to tell me about some nonexistant sound. I tried calling the owner to complain, about the workers demeanor, the owner explains he was told to pound on the door cause the doorbell is broken. The doorbell is not broken. The way this guy was pounding on the door most people would not have opened the door and would have called the police. Sounded like he was going to knock the door down. The employees are a reflection of their owner, the owner condones this behavior. I explained what had happened and the owner stated I state behind my employees, the whole thing left me speechless. Judging from some of the reviews I would avoid this business at all cost. The place has got to be trash when they have their own family members writing reviews.

We selected Rodenheiser to install a 5 head Mitsubishi air/heat/fan system. The crew was nothing short of amazing. Dylan the crew leader was knowledgeable, respectful, thorough and terrific. You can actually feel and see the teamwork as the job progressed. They installed carpets at the front door to clean boots, all wore masks and distanced, cleaned up after themselves! and more.
We couldn't be happier with the install team.
Also had a great experience with Ross who came out, spec'd the system, managed the quote and oversaw all details. Amazing. These guys are PROS!
The difference in how they approached the system design and had all the details worked out made the other folks we talked to look like beginners. These guys have dedicated teams that install MITS and are the largest (and best I think) in that business. If you are thinking about doing a MITS Spilts system, talk to Rodenheiser. btw: our house is an old house and Mits fit in great!
