Since our very first job, quality and personal pride has always been our primary concern. When we started North Shore Electric, our philosophy was to be the very best electrical contractor for our customers. Because of that philosophy, our company quickly grew from two electricians and a single truck working out of a basement, to a small office and shop on Florence Avenue in Evanston and more electricians. We have continued to grow to our current location on Ashland Avenue in Evanston with twelve electricians and a fleet of trucks. We have earned the trust and confidence of countless customers, which has turned into long lasting relationships that are still strong today. These relationships have made our best advertising the referrals from our satisfied clients. North Shore Electric is truly first-rate. They just completed our second project with them which was removing a track light and installing six recessed lights that have changed the room ambiance. Brian, the owner had worked out the plan, made suggestions, and offered suggestions. While they were backlogged with business, he did suggest a way of getting the work done earlier than originally proposed. The site electrician, Bill, was fantastic. This friendly and informative dude worked non-stop enabling the job to be completed in one day and totally cleaned up. Bill recognized that he had done our living room installations a couple of years earlier. This company is tops and pricing is very reasonable. It was nice to get an invoice that detailed every cost and not just a blanket final price. Recommend them without reservation.

just had north shore electric fix a light switch outlet that wasn't working and looked like a fire hazard. The electrician was very knowledgeable and reasonable for the work he did. 5 stars isn't enough to say how satisfied we are.
I had an excellent experience with this company today. Within an hour of being contacted by my landlord, I received a call asking when the electrician could stop by. Being after five and a holiday week, I was surprised. He said he would be here within a half hour and he was. The electrician was knowledgeable, quick, and very pleasant in manner. He worked quickly and had everything working perfectly in a short amount of time. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for reliable electrical service.
I needed a chandelier and ceiling fan installed, and a discrepancy with my fuse box investigated. Getting on their books was a bit of a challenge because they're so busy, but once I did the electrician was prompt, clean, kind, and efficient... and the invoice I received was very reasonable! They emailed the invoice after the service and you can pay online, which I personally prefer and appreciate. All in all, I would absolutely recommend North Shore Electric and use them again for any future home projects!
We have a tankless water heater and it stopped working last Tuesday night. I called over 10 places, one said they could be here Wednesday before 5pm. No call no show. On Thursday I called Little Tommy Plumbing who sent over Josh to fix the equipment. Josh showed up on time, assessed the situation and had to order a special part. It was overnighted and received late Friday night. Yesterday, Monday, Josh showed up and replaced the part and quess who was in the shower before the plumber was out of the driveway.
This is the 3rd time we've used them, and as always, we have no complaints.
They arrived when they said they would and did good work. The electrician who showed up was courteous and friendly.

They took on a project of my home that had been turned down by two other electricians due to the difficulty going around the existing construction. I got three estimates as recommended but two others backed off. North shore was not the most budget friendly choice but they were confident and willing to work on our old bungalow. I also used them for smaller work before like figuring why our basement lost power. At that time their technician knew to check the exact outlet that had blown off and fixed the problem within 15 min. When i was impressed like an idiot he only chuckled and said he guessed based on experience and he was also lucky. :)
I love these people after they got us a new service line and a new distribution box. They are pleasant to work with. They also brought their own handyman that made it possible to work in our home. ComEd person just came out and did an inspection and was impressed how the work was done precisely.
Great company! We had them do a couple jobs for us and they really so outstanding work! Prices are reasonable and the people are great to work with. We will be using them again!!!

Wow, efficient and a fair price....okay, fair for the North shore. I've finally found my electrician.
North Shore Electric is fantastic! I have had them out for two small projects in my older home, and the work they've done is perfect. Bill is a great electrician, very thorough, timely, and performs high-quality work. Well worth the expense (which is reasonable), and highly recommended.

I had North Shore Electric replace 5 outside lights, repair a wall light and install a Cable TV cable outlet in the wall of my 100 year old house and they did an outstanding job.
Michael came on time and provided professional and knowledgeable service. He saved me time and money with good recommendations and he completed all the work and cleaned all work areas in just 2 hours.
I wholeheartedly recommend North Shore Electric.

Mike came this morning to install a new fluorescent light fixture in the kitchen. He did a great job working with the old wiring. He was polite, efficient, and cleaned up when he finished. This would be a five-star review except that I was told he'd arrive between 9 and 10 and he didn't arrive until closer to 11. Other than that--great job. I'd use this company again.

Five stars to North Shore Electric for integrity and good customer service! I recently purchased a ceiling fan for my home, expecting a contractor to install the fan. Unfortunately, the member of the contractors' staff who was supposed install the fan had a family emergency so was unable to do the job. Then, I spotted a North Shore Electric truck at a neighbor's house. I asked the electrician if he could install the fan. He quickly came over and worked diligently to install the fan. Unfortunately, after several attempts -- and quite a bit of effort on electrician's part -- it became apparent that a wiring issue in my nearly 100-year-old home made it impossible for the fan to function properly. The electrician, who was hard-working, neat and courteous, and helped me identify some possible approaches to rewire the house - but didn't charge me for the failed attempt at installation. I would definitely call North Shore Electric for help on a future project and happily pay them for successful work. I recommend North Shore Electric.
