Best Plumbing Services in Washington, DC
I had my water heater replaced after 12 years, get all the copper pipes cleaned up, replaced the rusting pressure reducer and put in a mixing valve with Reddick & Sons. 5 stars and happy with the results.
I had received quotes from a handful of companies. I will say Reddick & Sons wasn't the cheapest but it's not a bad thing if you want your project done right the first time. The cheapest companies' free consultation left me wondering if it'll be done properly. At the end, it came down to two choices with whom I was comfortable proceeding with. R&S was more expensive but had many great reviews. The other was cheaper but not a lot of reviews. I picked R&S eventually because they were willing to work with me on the price. It wasn't an exact match but I was happy with the price after looking at a few similar quotes.
I was a little surprised they didn't recommend a mixing valve. I think they are trying not to oversell a lot of items but from the stuff I'd been reading, you'd want a mixing valve so I asked for one. Without a mixing valve, your tank temp will be at 110'C and bacteria can still grow at the temp. If you have a mixing valve, you can set the tank temp to 140'C to kill off all bacteria and use the valve to tone it down to 110'C so it's safe for you. I'm no expert but that makes sense to me so I had a mixing valve installed.
The project took about 3-4 hours total. It didn't feel right the guy was carrying the huge tank with a cart by himself so I helped him at the stairs. The work was done very professionally. He wore slip on covers for his shoes inside the house and cleaned up all the mess afterward. The plumbing work is very clean and is a lot prettier than before. Everything is up to code as well (they installed drain pan and overflow tank). I highly recommend them. Don't cheap out on the important stuff but also have a few quotes ready so you aren't overpaying by a lot. Good luck with your project!

On February 12th, 2022, W.L. Staten sent a tech out to install a simple easy trap on my basement unit and a wet switch on my attic unit. Since that visit, my life has been turned upside down!!!
On that same day, five hours prior, I had my ducts cleaned by another company. Before the W.L. Staten tech arrived, my heat had been running successfully without any problems for five hours prior to their arrival.
When the tech arrived, he advised that the install of the easy trap and wet switch would take approximately 40 minutes in total. Almost close to two hours later, the tech was still in my attic installing the wet switch.
When I approached him to see what the problem was, he kept saying that there was something with the fan. When he advised that it was okay to turn the heat back on, all of this smoke started coming from my vents in my master bedroom. The room got instantly foggy. When I asked him what he did to my system, he said it was like that when I came, which was a lie!! Both systems were in tip top shape before the tech arrived. Prior tSmoke was NEVER coming from my vents!!!
I called back to the company and spoke to Chris, who was so incredibly rude to me and was making me feel like I did something wrong!
The next morning, February 13th, I woke up severally dizzy and have been plagued with health issues that have worsened ever since!!! The fire department and Washington Gas have been called to get to the bottom of why my HVAC is making me sick. All they can tell me is that no carbon monoxide is being emitted from the units, which I already knew from previous inspections.
As time progressed, my dizziness had turned into numbness and tingling in my head, and lower extremities. The inside of my nose, mouth, throat and tongue starts burning every time the heat kicks in. I would get sharp pains in my eyes. My legs would feel weak like they were going to give out. I've even had relatives come over from North Carolina to stay with me for a couple of days and they would start feeling sick. Every month since February, I have been in the ER plagued with these symptoms!!
I have hired 3 companies to look at my HVAC system and the final company was the ONLY company that thought to check my refrigerant levels. On 5/22 leaks were found in both units, with the attic unit being the worse.
I strongly believe both of my units were sabotaged by the W.L. Staten tech. The smoke from my vents was refrigerant that was intentionally leaked. And I have been breathing in those gases, which explains my health issues!
What is the probability of both units having a refrigerant leak at the very same time? It is no secret that the technicians at W.L. Staten work on commission which means they've got to sell something to make money!! Consumer BEWARE!

They came out very quickly, had great communication, and did good work to fix a backed up drain. Thank you!

My Master bath faucet was leaking. PlumbProf came and fixed it in a jiffy, and it doesn't leak anymore :).

Unlike almost every service I contacted, provided a quote over Yelp ($200 to unclog toilet), came over within a few hours, fixed the issue and charged just that. Very easy and professional.

Quick and accommodating. Recognized issues and new how to resolve them. Great value.

We had a backyard bib pipe that was leaking somewhere in the wall. The plumber, Khalid, was absolutely remarkable! First when requesting a direct quote, his communication was quick, and pricing was very reasonable. Moreover, he communicated with me throughout the whole experience. I was able to show him a picture of what the situation was in advance so he could come in knowing what the issue was regarding. He arrived at our hour exactly when he estimated he was going to arrive, which was perfect. He was extremely knowledgeable about my leaking pipe and was able to correct the issue better than it was before as well as educate me on what most likely had caused the issue! In order to get to the pipe some of the drywall had to be removed, which he was able to do skillfully and cleanly. Furthermore, he was able to patch my drywall back three hundred times better than what it was before.
I don't understand how this service does not have more reviews because the work that was done was absolutely phenomenal and if there was a six star I could give, I would! Service, Communication, and knowledge was A+ and I will definitely use this service again if I run into trouble with my plumbing issues.

Please be careful if you decide to use this company. I had a horrible experience. I used them to put in a heating system which cost me $5000.00. Two technicians showed up. My basement was full of boxes because I had just recently moved back to the U.S. Some had been opened and some had not. I stayed around most of the time but when one technician needed to go up stairs to work on the thermostat I went with him and the other was no where in sight. When I returned to be briefed on the completed system, I noticed boxes and other items had been moved around. Reluctant to accuse them of stealing, I let it go and said nothing. As it turned out they stole boxes of household items which included African bronze statues, polish pottery serving dishes, memorabilia, Waterford glasses, expensive pots and pans, etc., that I had accumulated over 20 years traveling with the U.S. Government. When I got around to calling JF Plumbing about it, the company representative was very, very rude. I took my time calling because I felt they would not be supportive and I was right, he displayed poor customer service, attacking me and saying that their technicians would not do such a thing. As it turns out, the person who recommended JF Plumbing apologized to me for recommending JF Plumbing because the same technicians that put in my heating system ripped her off as well. I would not recommend this company for the reasons listed above. The technicians stole items valued over $3,000 dollars ....a big tip!

Experienced and professional. No guesswork, fair pricing and they came prepared with everything needed to do the job. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and was impressed because he was so familiar with old plumbing. Stop searching, this is who to call!!

I paid $39.99 for an initial estimate to investigate a suspected broken water line and was provided a quote of $8,397.86 to complete the work.
I had a HomeServe warranty...and they chose another Contractor at a total cost of $1,050.00
Obviously, I will never contact DB for repairs again...and would suggest potential customers seek additional quotes before committing to services.

Isaac Guevara is a terrific plumber. He installed a new hot water heater for us. He does the work himself, did a great job, everything to code, good quality work, cleaned up, and at a reasonable cost.
None of the usual rigamarole of plumbers; instead Isaac is honest, has over a decade of plumbing and contracting experience, and does a great job at a reasonable price.
Highly recommend!

I reached out to help resolve an issue with my pipes making a bizarre hissing noise. Not only did they come out within the hour to help with the repair, but also was very detailed with what was going on and very reasonably priced. I was able to get everything fixed including a leak on the same day. I will definitely be reaching out and using them for all my plumbing needs.

Needed to replace our water heater and Liberty was responsive, friendly, and provided prompt service. Would definitely recommend Mike & his son!

We had several things...clogged sink, toilet not flushing properly, and Eric Brown fixed it all. He's such a nice person on top of having awesome plumbing skills, we would recommend Heil very highly. They had outstanding communication and were thrilled when Eric was able to come earlier than expected.

Donzelle was awesome. We had an emergency plumbing situation (backup flowing up through my tenant's shower drain...pretty gross), and Donzelle was the first person to respond to my requests. His communication was excellent throughout, his prices were fair, and he responded immediately. He was also able to work with the tenant to find a time that worked best for everybody for follow-up work. He didn't try to upsell or pressure us based on the situation and his quality of work was fantastic. Sent pictures and updates throughout, cleaned up, and my tenant also reported that he was very satisfied. Super professional, 5 stars.

We are in the midst of remodeling an office space. We have plumbing fixtures that we were not going to use for the business at all. DJ came out gave us an estimate of the work we needed to be done. He was prompt and very professional. He gave us options on what we could do to save us money. Which was a bonus for us since we are a new business trying to get up and running and on a tight budget. DJ came out the next day and did an excellent job on the plumbing work that we needed done. We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to our friends and family.

I reached out to get under sink repairs. I got a quick response. They were flexible with my schedule and limited availability and were even able to come after work to complete the repairs. They did better than I was expecting and the price was reasonable.

After taking time off work for 4 appointments related to the same issue, todays being a no show/no call due to the technician not having the correct equipment even though I confirmed when making this appointment the tech would have the right equipment, Sila now says they cannot resolve my water tank issue. Customer service rep was extremely rude with an attitude after I called to see if anyone was showing up and requesting a refund as the company should have been upfront they did not have the equipment required to fix the issue and continue to waste my time. Do not recommend this company.

BEWARE!
I guess the DC and MD locations are tied together. I went by the ratings for the DC location when I setup an appointment.
I was floored by the estimate for replacing two undersink water valves and removing old dishwasher/installing the new.
$900+
I know enough to know that was absurd. Still had to pay a $99.00 charge for them just to show up. BEWARE! BE SMART

Horrible company if you're looking for a pleasant booking experience, appointment confirmations, timely updates when a technician is running behind schedule, and a technician that arrives as scheduled.
I was quoted an arrival time of 11am-3pm. At 12noon I called to check status and was told the technician would call once on their way. After waiting another three hours (the end of the arrival time window), I placed another call. This time I was told that my technician was in Old Town, Alexandria and once finished, he would make his way to my house. No timeframe was provided. I cancelled my appointment and went with another company. Terrible experience.
