We just had our entire HVAC system (furnace, AC Unit, and Evaporator coil) replaced by Bowmans. From initial contact to the very end, I had a wonderful experience. Mike answered all of my questions, provided his professional opinion and experience of available additions that could benefit our home. On his recommendation, we added an air scrubber to improve the air quality in our 1972 home and also had all of our vents cleaned. Dan and Aaron arrived in the promised time window and worked thoroughly throughout the entire day. I had asked for isolators to be installed under my furnace due to tile flooring being installed in the near future which Dan happily accommodated my request. All 3 men were beyond helpful, courteous and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bowmans.

I've been calling Mr. Sa for big and small jobs, Including replacing hot water heater, garbage disposal, and faucets. In each case, he and his wife gave accurate estimates and finished work with expertise and care. Today, he replaced old sump pump discharge hose with PVC pipe. He knew exactly what to do, and finished the job quickly and professionally. Great work at a reasonable price.

Had our water main Pressure Reduction Valve installed yesterday by Dennis Rollins, founding proprietor of Veteran Plumbing Services, who did a great job at a very competitive price. It was a tricky installation in a tight spot behind drywall at the back of a pantry, but he took care to try to minimize disruption to the area. He showed me how to operate the PRV, and assisted in calibrating current pressure to our desired level of about 80psi for us. If you call Veteran Plumbing, I'm pretty sure you'll be as happy as we are with the outcome.
For those who've received notices from Fairfax Water recommending installation of a PRV due to likely increased pressure from the updated GMU water tower coming online soon, you've still got time to get the work done and get compensated for the expense by Fairfax Water, but that time is running out quickly (end of Sept.2020?).
You can get prompt, friendly, competent service from a small, local business by contacting Veteran Plumbing in Fairfax.

I've had Durance do two plumbing jobs at my older, circa 1947 house in Takoma Park - fixing a leaky toilet and a blocked shower drain. Both times Kirk did the work quickly and inexpensively, avoiding more costly repair work. Highly recommend.

Plumbers provided exceptional service, advice, and repair at a very reasonable cost. Leak was above basement ceiling so they had to cut into the ceiling and perform the repair in a very tight space which they accomplished very professionally in less than 2 hours. They were prompt, neat, cleaned up everything, and were very courteous. I have used this company before to fix a slow drain in my kitchen sink which they performed excellently at very reasonable cost. I will definitely use this company as my go-to plumber.

Nate arrived a little later than promised but considering the distance I'll factor in traffic from MD to NOVA. He went straight to the issue and was able to troubleshoot without going to the most expensive option, which not only fixed the issue but was much appreciated! He was friendly and courteous. Things you don't find with most plumbers in the Arlington area, plus he beat their prices by a long shot! Definitely a keeper!

Today is the second time I've used Calabrese Plumbing. They are dependable, knowledgeable, and fair. The response I get from them is very quick, even during a pandemic!
They are the only plumbers I've ever used that I feel like they're treating me as an important customer, not someone who is going to fund their sailing and skiing habits!

The service provided by OTECH was prompt and effective. I recommend it to anyone looking to have reasonably priced plumbing work done. I had a kitchen sink backup in my condo in Alexandria upon arriving from Florida. This was really an unexpected inconvenience since the kitchen became unusable. Jafar was willing to come out as soon as I finished work on Friday. I thought that was really accommodating and traits of good customer service. I had called other plumbers on Yelp but either they didn't work after hours or wanted to charge after hours rates. One company even asked me to call the building maintenance staff first to determine if it was a building line problem. I thought that was an odd recommendation for a company looking for work. My building doesn't offer this type of service so I called OTECH, and I'm glad I did.
Jafar answered and we agreed on a rate/price and we were set to go. It turned out to be a severe clog in the line. Furthermore, I asked if he would change the garbage disposal as well, which had needed replacing anyway and he agreed for an additional fee. He got the garbage disposal from his supplier so I didn't have to buy it at Home Depot. I appreciated this service as well, which allowed me to come home directly from work.
The plumbing work was successfully completed and Jafar cleaned up everything and tested for leaks. I have a one year warranty for labor and 2 years manufacturer's warranty for the garbage disposal. He took American Express for payment and didn't charge a 3% convenience fee like other plumbers do. I definitely will call OTECH again for any future plumbing work.

I hardly ever leave reviews but I had to replace some pipe in my HVAC closet and a neighbor recommended this company. They were at my place the next morning on a Saturday and did a great job for a very reasonable prices, especially in Alexandria. I'm going to use them again for that pesky drip with my bathtub. It is so nice to find a plumber as a single professional woman that I don't need to worry is trying to rip me off or talk down to me. Thank you!!

Cardinal plumbing replaced a leaking water pressure valve for us. Nikolai is very professional and knowledgable. I was very happy with the service and would hire them again for other plumbing issues.

We were fortunate to find Ahoy and George was amazing. We had a stoppage for the outside drain and we called Ahoy to come service and he came out to give a free estimate but his price was reasonable so we asked gone to do it. The stoppage was clear but unfortunately the design of the French pit that we had was slow drain and cause more flooding into our basement but not as much as before. We called Ahoy again and he recommended installing a sump pump and again his price was reasonable. We haven't had flooding since. Then we had another plumbing issue with a leak from a bathroom. He diagnosed it thoroughly and identified the issues as a leaky roof and poor grouting on the floor.
Why we love the service we received?
1) free estimate
2) reasonable price
3) excellent communication and very quick to respond
4) very friendly service
5) prompt service
We had called George three times and all three occasions have been amazing.

I often solicit projects using Yelp because I get a diverse array of responses from many professionals; some very qualified, some pretty useless. In most cases I'm a DIY die hard but I don't mess around with plumbing and electrical issues and recognize when I need an expert.
After putting out my needs, Steve wrote quickly and gave me a clear and concise estimate, their availability and contact information. Their price was the most reasonable by far and seemed like it was sent by a real human. After touching base by phone, Steve (who is a one man shop based out of Marshall, VA) said he would honor the offer to come out even though he typically doesn't service DC. He came out quickly and first thing in the morning, quickly identified additional issues that needed immediate addressing, worked to procure all the parts he needed and got to work, finishing before anyone even noticed the water was off. Steve replaced a nearly 40 year old main water shutoff valve that was a half turn away from breaking on the pipe, installed a pressure reducing valve to save our skin from heightened water pressure, installed new shutoff valves and helped identify a leaky faucet, and installed a new toilet in less than three hours.
Trained as a carpenter and a plumber, Steve was thoughtful, attentive, and very detailed in his explanation and addressing of our problems. He was kind and friendly and highly knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone looking for quality work in the area and he will definitely be back in our home soon (if he's willing to drive to DC).

What a disappointment. This used to be the premier stone showroom in DC. Sadly, the Georgetown Waterworks staff is burned out, error prone and utterly indifferent to quality or customer service.
In attitude and execution Waterworks management says every day: we really, really do not need your $ business.
Try Ann Saks or Architessa.

Yessir is a very experienced plumber. He did a couple of complex projects for me with perfection, provided few plans, were upfront about costs and materials and risks.
And it was fun to work with him. Will hire him again for my projects

Normally I love this convenient plumbing supply store in Herndon on Grove Street. They always have the plumbing parts I need and at a decent price. I have never used their service techs for at home repairs. I go to them for across the counter in store sales. But today sadly the guy behind the counter did not have a mask on, it is December 2020. I suspect they did not get the 2020 memo that a pandemic is in progress and we need to protect one another. I masked up for them. A few bonus points, they did have some hand sanitizer on the counter top.
I try to support local, I could have purchased these parts (more safely) by Amazon.

We purchased a air-conditioning/heating unit from F. H. Furr, through Costco, in 2018, for approximately $8,000. We could have gotten a unit for less, but we felt that the Costco connection would give us some extra customer service protection. We have had a couple of issues with faulty parts, but they were resolved to our satisfaction. We took the monthly subscription plan 3 years ago, but have yet to see any benefit to that. We are supposed to get at least one seasonal check up, but did not get that, even though we were at home and the technician never came. When I called to reschedule, I was told that I would have to wait 3 months for a visit. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
My current problem is this. We woke up Sunday morning to a cold house, and whenever I went to adjust the digital thermostat, it would not allow an adjustment number to show, and showed the temperature to be 65 degrees. The only thing that showed was Battery. I tried to find multiple ways to open the unit, but it would not budge. I called the F.H.Furr number and got a very nice person on line. I explained my dilemma to her and told her about the things I had tried. I read her all of the information on the thermostat and she found our account and told me the name of the thermostat. I asked if she could tell me what I could do, because we were afraid for it to get colder during the night, because we are in our 80's with multiple health challenges. She asked some questions and she told me that some of the newer thermostats required a technician to open them. She also told me that my thermostat was still under warranty, she mentioned that we had the subscription plan, and that she could send someone out to help us, as early as Tuesday, but that if she sent someone out on Sunday, there would be a $100 charge. I told her that we could not afford that, so we would have to wait for Tuesday. Never did she mention that there would be ANY charge for a person coming on Tuesday. Well, this morning, a person came, squeezed hard on the side of the thermostat and told me that it was the battery. No one had ever shown me that before or did anyone tell me that I should exert extra strength on it to remove the cover, or that the people who come for the check ups were not checking the thermostats. I had no idea what kind of battery was in there or how to access that battery. I am shocked that they think that they should charge me $97 for this.
I am in the process of trying to contact the owners of the company and Costco about this. I had a problem with the unit early on and the owner was able to resolve it nicely. I was absolutely NOT told that there would be a charge for this service, and I declined the rush service that was to cost $100.
I talked my daughter in purchasing her unit through Costco, this summer, and now I am hoping that I did not set her up for poor customer service.

I rank their plumbers highly - the quality of the work is fine, the plumbers are clean and show up on time.
But the Grayton front office is a MESS - the receptionist is the worst person to deal with - it took me forever to schedule an appointment, she is very shady on price estimates, and so rude - and yes, i also had a lot of trouble trying to redeem their on line coupon. The coupon is a joke - the plumber said he would honor it, I confirmed that i had a coupon when I made the appointment, but at the end of the day, the receptionist overruled it.
While the plumbing services themselves were fine, it was such a hassle dealing with Grayton's admin office that I would not go back.
If I pay someone hundreds of dollars, a thank-you and a friendly attitude should be standard.
Spend your plumbing dollars elsewhere.
