We're truly a happy customer. My boyfriend and I had a clogged toilet in our master bathroom. The water over flowed and leaked down into our kitchen. I called Omid Kaveh and he came out as quick as possible. He was very quick. It was a baby wipe stuck in the toilet. He was very fast and very friendly. He also cleaned the floor as well and made sure that the toilet water was running smoothly. He deserves recognition!!!!!!

Kaveh) was very professional.  He donned foot covers, reviewed the job, explained the work involved, made an offer and put us under no pressure to go forward with him unless comfortable.  When we did proceed, he worked thoroughly and cleaned up afterwards.  Furthermore, he told us to call him back for any warranty work if an leaks or issues showed up.  Like the other reviewer, the told us what we could do on our own if desired.  He was genuine and that made the whole process satisfying. We will keep him in our contact list and do absolutely recommend him to others.

Honest work and pricing. They are not trying to get rich quick, but more trying to earn your business for the long haul. I called them and they serviced my toilet within the hour. They actually gave me some pointers on how to do it myself if I wanted to, but said they would come and do it for a fee as well.  I highly recommend them.

I am very impressed with OTECH. It's Memorial Day weekend and it seemed like nobody was open. My air conditioner broke down and I had no idea how to fix it. As soon as I called, someone was on the way to help me. Within 30 minutes he arrived and in another 10 minutes he was able to figure out that the fuses on the outdoor portion of my air conditioner had burnt out.

He didn't have any spare fuses that would have worked for my air conditioner, but he told me the exact kind I needed to get and carefully showed me how to change them. Not only did he teach me, but without any prompting from me he told me he was only going to charge me the service fee, which he knocked from $50 down to $35. He also told me to call him right away if changing the fuses didn't do the trick.

I highly recommend OTECH, you really can't go wrong with this company. Fast, professional, and friendly.

We had to call OTECH for an emergency water heater leak that we discovered late Saturday night. Even though I called Jafar on a Sunday afternoon, he responded quickly and professionally and was able to come out early Monday morning to asses what needed to be done.

To say the work was done quickly is an understatement; we had a new water heater ordered and installed in less than 48 hours! Jafar also was sure to let us know what type of water heater he was installing, how to register it for the warranty, potential trouble spots with the house's water pressure/HVAC/washer-dryer, etc. Jafar also responded to any call or txt quickly and informatively. To me, that is the definition of above and beyond, and I would like to return the favor by highly recommending OTECH to those in need of great plumbing/HVAC services.

Although you never hope to use services like these often, I feel comfortable in knowing that a call to OTECH is a call well spent.

This review is WAYYYYY overdue, but Jefar is an incredibly honest technician!  He's also competent.  
Sometime last summer, Jefar came out to check a warning message on my thermostat that appeared to be somewhat serious (not time to change the filter or anything simple like that).  He did a couple of checks and made an adjustment to the system's electrical panel, and the message went away.  He explained that it was something simple though I don't recall what that was.  
The point is that since then (almost a year ago), I haven't seen that message, nor has my system malfunctioned.  After aout 45 minutes, he said he was done, shook my hand, and turned around to leave.  When I asked how much I owed him, he said I didn't really do anything other than make an adjustment, so you don't owe me anything.  I asked if he didn't charge for the visit, to which he replied no.  WHO DOES THAT?! I finally persuaded him to take a $20 bill for his efforts.

I recommend Jefar to anyone for honest, competent service!

Recently our hot water tank went and leaked everywhere as well as having some issues with the main water valve and the pressure reducing one in the house too. I decided to go on Yelp and start calling some plumbers for an estimate. I contacted OTECH upon seeing it's excellent reviews and I could understand why. I spoke with Jafar, the owner and he was very courteous and friendly and was able to quote me a price right on the phone to take care of things. To my surprise his pricing was less than the others and for a superior AO Smith replacement tank. I agreed to move forward with him. His team arrived on Monday and took care of everything to my standards and we had hot water again in the house! In addition, he went over everything with the new valves and explained the features on the hot water tank.  Before leaving he said to call if I have any issues with the new items. That was definitely appreciated.  Overall, he did a great job, was friendly, courteous and reasonable but most of had excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend him for any plumbing needs.

We had OTECH install two toilets a few months ago for us and had a great experience.

We just recently noticed a minor problem with one of the toilets and they came to our house within 24 hours of calling, picked up an entirely new part to address the issue and charged nothing to fix it saying that it was still under warranty from the first install.

I am once again blown away by the great customer service shown and their dedication to solving problems at an extremely fair price. We will be using OTECH exclusively from now on.

I would highly recommend OTECH to anyone having difficulty with their plumbing. Jafar was extremely accommodating and came out promptly and in the time he said he would. He thoroughly inspected the issue, and made sure to clearly explain what was happening in a way that even I could understand. He was able to resolve the issue quickly! I was pleasantly surprised by Otech. Everyone was respectful, and they gave great advice. They didn't try selling anything that I didn't need.

I can't say enough good things about OTECH. Twice in the past 1.5 years they have (literally) bailed us out - both times in an emergency situation. I called OTECH based on their reviews. Last week when it was one of the hottest weeks of the year, the top zone of our two zone AC unit house was not  emitting cool air. The top 2 floors of our 4 level townhouse were quite hot. I called OTECH and spoke to Jafar. He told me that he was working on another job in my area and that would be able to come by later. He said he would text me when he was an hour out, which he did. He and his helper assessed the unit, told me that it needed more freon, cleaning the coils, replaced a part and some other minor tune ups. They were at our house for about 1.5 hours and got it working again pretty quickly. We were charged $245, which we thought was reasonable given the amount of time it took to repair and that they were able to come out the same day. The only thing I would say needed improvement was I wish they had provided an invoice for the work that was done so we had it for our records. Other than that, Jafar was professional, reliable and honest. I would definitely recommend him!

I just bought a house this summer for great value cause it needs updating.  The heat has been working great.  Saturday the thermostat turns on but no heat.  Monday I called around to get folks that would come out today for more than $175 plus just to look at the unit.  Shortly after I moved in I had a few companies come out to inspect the fine working aged HVAC unit.  After 2 companies sent a Tech who looked at the unit from the outside to tell me that there was no need for them to inspect the working unit because it was old and I needed a new one.  One called his Sales guy after he wasn't interested in looking at my unit for recommendations the other company tech was also the sales guy.  So I placed them both on my Do Not Contact list.  Jafar came out today.  He opened up the unit and got the flames/heat to start.  He checked out everything and waited a while to make sure it did not turn off.  Jafar told me to save my $$$ to eventually replace because the system is more than 15 yrs old but he spent no time trying to sell me a unit or complete new HVAC system.  Jafar instructed me on taking a picture of a panel code to send him if the heat shuts off again and he will price a part for me that believes is roughly $300-$400.  If it's not that particular issue then he told me there's a crack in the unit and he could take care of it if that is the issue.  And he charged me way less than $100 for his time and service.  My unit is running without issue and I have heat again.  And he told me I need carbon dioxide detectors that is on my inspection report.  I ABSOLUTELY LUV skilled and credible contractors.  Not once did he try to sell me a system or mark up repair work.  I plan to definitely call OTECH for my future plumbing, HVAC, and electrical needs.

It was almost midnight when I noticed that our water heater had broken and there was water all over in the utility room.  Despite the late hour, I contacted OTECH. Jafar was very responsive. He asked me to send pictures of the leak and provided to me instructions on how to temporary stop the leak. He did not charge me for the advise nor tried to imply to hire his company for repairs.  The next morning I called Jafar to schedule repairs.  He accommodated me by rescheduling his appointments to make sure I can get back to the hospital to take care of an ill family member.  We also hired Jafar to fix our AC unit. His fees are not the lowest in the area, but his services and quality of work are superb. He is very punctual and responds to messages/calls promptly.

My AC was blowing warm air in my rental unit, and because it was 90 degrees outside I was desperate to get it fixed or else my tenants were going to a hotel.  I called around to a few places, and even though it was 5pm on the Friday before Labor Day, Omid came out within a couple of hours AND his service call charge was only $50 (some quoted $150-$225).  He diagnosed the problem very quickly and gave me a very complete explanation of the problem and what it was going to take to fix it.  He gave me an estimate which was lower than competitors (I live in a condo so I could easily compare prices with what some of my neighbors paid).  I ended up getting a family friend to replace the unit (my dad insisted) but I will call them again if I have any future HVAC issues.

Attempted to source for vendor services, never showed for appointment, never heard back. Had to move on to a new vendor to complete necessary work.

On a Sunday, my air conditioner totally failed. I called several companies that were supposed to provide 7-day service but either they didn't answer or they answered but were too busy.

Otech answered on Sunday morning and was at my house within 2 hours. There were 3 different problems with the A/C. He was able to fix 2 of them very quickly, but the 3rd required a replacement part, and the supplier wasn't open on Sunday.

He came back to my house on Monday morning with the replacement part and had it fixed within 20 minutes. He stayed and tested the system thoroughly to make sure nothing else is wrong with it.

He didn't charge any extra for the weekend service and didn't charge anything for the labor on the repairs that he did on Monday.

I would highly recommend him for any HVAC service as he's very reliable, fast, and cost effective.

The service provided by OTECH was prompt and effective. I recommend it to anyone looking to have reasonably priced plumbing work done. I had a kitchen sink backup in my condo in Alexandria upon arriving from Florida. This was really an unexpected  inconvenience since the kitchen became unusable. Jafar was willing to come out as soon as I finished work on Friday. I thought that was really accommodating and traits of good customer service. I had called other plumbers on Yelp but either they didn't work after hours or wanted to charge after hours rates. One company even asked me to call the building maintenance staff first to determine if it was a building line problem. I thought that was an odd recommendation for a company looking for work.  My building doesn't offer this type of service so I called OTECH, and I'm glad I did.

Jafar answered and we agreed on a rate/price and we were set to go. It turned out to be a severe clog in the line. Furthermore, I asked if he would change the garbage disposal as well, which had needed replacing anyway and he agreed for an additional fee. He got the garbage disposal from his supplier so I didn't have to buy it at Home Depot. I appreciated this service as well, which allowed me to come home directly from work.
The plumbing work was successfully completed and Jafar cleaned up everything and tested for leaks.  I have a one year warranty for labor and 2 years manufacturer's warranty for the garbage disposal. He took American Express for payment and didn't charge a 3% convenience fee like other plumbers do.  I definitely will call OTECH again for any future plumbing work.

Okay folks, these guys have a stellar rating because they are THAT good. I'm always skeptical of service folks, but Jafar and his team are outstanding. Very attentive to needs and responsive even at the worst times!  We had a tough tough challenge with our Carrier HVAC and Jafar kept at it...working different options until the situation was fixed. He kept us posted throughout it all.  Even weeks after his service call, he was available for his thoughts and feedback over the phone. Even saved us a svc call. He's great on pricing, too.

Call these folks. Don't mess around.

I'm writing this two days after the OTECH technician came to fix the plumbing in our kitchen. We started having issues on a Saturday night, after the kitchen sink backed up and a pipe underneath the sink burst and leaked the contents of the sink all over the kitchen floor. We also had some water backing up into our dishwasher.

We called OTECH on Sunday morning after calling a handful of other plumbers and not getting a particularly good vibe from any of them. When we called OTECH, the technician said he could be there within 2 hours. He arrived on time and was transparent about his pricing from the start. He said he would charge a reasonable flat rate to fix everything and replace anything that needed to be replaced. We negotiated for a few minutes and he agreed to knock off $40 from his original quote. He spent about 1 hour snaking the drains, tinkering with the garbage disposal, and replacing/sealing pipes under the sink. He cleaned up the kitchen floor and left everything pretty clean, all things considered.

When he was finished, he presented me with the invoice with the agreed upon price. He did not try to up-sell me on anything.

So far, everything is working great and I have nothing negative to say about the experience. The technician arrived on time, worked quickly, fixed the problem, and charged a reasonable fee for his work.

I called them regarding my sump pump.  He came out and looked at my situation and offered me several options.  The pricing was fair and the service was timely and complete.  In addition he walked my through the new equipment and how it worked.  He told me to call him directly with any issues.  Top notch service.

Took 450 dollars of mine for 2 hrs work, hvac still broken, couldn't fix or find leak in my coil, never called back after last follow up, left me high and dry, called another company and they used a machine to tell me that the coil infact was broken, and gave estimates to replace or repair. Ended up going to replace hvac. Avoid Otech they do not have the basic machinery to diagnose, or the knowledge to solve your problem. They will take your money, provide you with a temporary fix and when it stops working after a few days, they say no warranty and take off with your money.  Top dollar for bad service and no long term fix.

I discovered a failed and leaking hot water heater over a weekend. Jafar is a true professional and was pleasure to work with from first contact to the completion of the project and beyond.

Despite the urgency of the situation, an unnecessary emergency response (and associated charge) was avoided. The cost of the project, to include parts, labor and disposal, was extremely fair and reasonable.

Crews reported promptly at scheduled times and the project was completed in a timely manner. Otech showed me exactly what was done to remedy the situation and provided helpful hints/education for me to avoid similar problems in the future. Otech has followed up since the completion of the project.

I am extremely satisfied with my experience and will be using Otech for my future plumbing and HVAC needs.

My air conditioner went poof! I also wanted to check the sump pumps in advance for Hurricane Florence. I was dreading to call one of those large companies that will charge you an arm and a leg and always try to sell you some miraculous preventive piece of equipment, when you don't want or need it. They always  happen to have said equipment in their truck and tell you how lucky that is!

I looked at reviews on yelp trying to find an alternative to the corporate scams because I have had some good luck with small businesses lately. After all, they have a reputation to keep.

I was about to call someone that had good ratings, in general, but several women complained they were misogynistic and did too much mansplaining.  I am so glad I went with Jafar of OTECH. Respectful guy, no mansplaining!  He arrived on time (actually arrived earlier, but waited in the driveway for the right time to ring the doorbell)

He found out right away that the guy who went up in the attic a couple of days earlier to check on something else had turned off a wall power switch (it's confusing as we have another switch for a light bulb too). I am sure that one of the big companies would have made up some story about how I needed this or that, charged me $1,000 and simply turned the switch on!

He checked my two sump pumps to make sure they were working well, and advised me to get flood alarms. Did he have them for sale in his truck at some absurd price and would charge me some other obscene price to install it? NO! He told me to buy them online.  So he didn't even try to make money off me.

He advised me to install gravel around my air conditioner units to keep them clean. Calculated I needed about 10 bags. Did he have them in his truck or would he bring them on later? NO. Told me to have them delivered and spread it around myself.

His visit cost me a mere $100 bucks!

My house is nearing 20 years, so I know maintenance will be very expensive in the next 2-5 years. I will be using him to replace my water heater when it goes, my air conditioners when they go... heck, if he painted on his spare time I'd have him repaint the house!!

BEST PLUMBER & HVAC EVER

Called OTECH on Saturday as my whole house humidifier wasn't working and HVAC is not something I feel particularly competent at. He said he could come over Sunday. He showed up a bit later than expected - got held up at a previous appointment, but I hadn't had anything planned for Sunday anyway and I was pleased that he was able to come over on short notice and on a Sunday. He pulled out the voltmeter and determined the humidistat wasn't working properly. I'm pretty handy and he suggested it was something I could save a bunch of money on by doing myself. His charge for the service call was reasonable. Between the service call and buying the replacement part on ebay, I spent about $150 dollars in total. Took me about 30 minutes to install the new part. Will definitely call Omar again if I have any concerns or HVAC problems in the future.

I'm a property manager for a sizable company and Jafar has been our go-to emergency plumber and repairman for the last 3-5 years.  He has saved the day so many times I've lost count.  I've called him while he was on his way home and he stopped to do a repair on the way. His prices are most reasonable and he gives quotes over the phone instead of all the run around that other plumbing companies put you through.  He has never up-sold, not once and has never gone back on his quote.  Jaf and his crew have figured out affordable ways to get water heaters in and out of complicated multi-level condominiums, install new HVAC systems with 10 year warranties, stop plumbing leaks of all sorts, replace disposals, snake drains, you name it.  Straight up Jafar tells you what needs to be done and what it will cost. 5 Stars isn't enough.  Otech is the best!

FANTASTIC!

I got a compressor failure right after coming home from being away for a week (on a Saturday night).  Three places blew me off but OTECH was on the case!  Jeff talked me through some tests and attempts at fixed on the phone (for free) and, when that didn't fix it, came by Sunday morning to get the job done.  Work was professional and the price was fair.  This is my new HVAC hookup.

Our second son had just turned 4 weeks old when we noticed our home A/C unit had stopped cooling one humid Saturday in June. We'd originally bought a home warranty with our house (regret it) and tried to work through their vendor to schedule emergency service. After multiple calls, automated prompts, and no human response, I turned to Yelp and found OTEC.

My first call was immediately answered by a real person and despite the late Saturday timing, I was given a window of 2-3hrs for them to be at my house.

Seemed too good to be true, but within that window I had two technicians arrive and get straight to work. They found a faulty compressor and while I'll eventually need to replace the 20yr old unit, they were able to get it up and running again for the time being. All for a reasonable service fee.

My wife, 18month old, 4 week old, and dog couldn't be happier - even though this is a short term solution.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Jafar and OTECH.  My 20+ year old hot water heater gave up the ghost back in February and I called around 10 places to get quotes and timelines for repair/replacement.  Jafar graciously tried to help me troubleshoot the issue over the phone, and when it was clear that it was beyond useful repair, he quoted a price for replacement that was far below some of the ripoff quotes that I had gotten.  He arrived on time and was very professional, covering the flooring and replacing the water heater and piping (including gas venting) in the closet in about 5 hours.  I will recommend him to any friends and family need HVAC and plumbing work in the future.

I've used OTECH for my HVAC needs and I want to say that Jafar & his crew are awesome. Beyond the talent that he brings, he is honest and offers very competitive pricing. He has never tried to upsell me on products I don't need, nor charge for services that aren't needed. Most responsive HVAC service I've ever used. I moved into my condo less than a year ago and unbeknownst to me, the previous owner had not maintained the PTAC AC unit. It had become a problem when water began leaking into my downstairs neighbors home, and they came out twice to handle the problem on very short notice. I would highly recommend otech to anyone and will use them in the future.

I was very impressed with these guys.   First, they accommodated my schedule, when they didn't have to.  Very prompt.   Second, they appeared to be very proficient and knowledgeable. I actually threw at them 3 issues: a leaky faucet, an HVAC heating unit that wasn't heating, and a fireplace that wouldn't start.  Jafar knew what to do, and fixed all three in a flash.  Then, he didn't even charge me for the fireplace.  The fact that this company does both HVAC and plumbing is such a plus, cause if you have both problems at once, you get only one service call charge.  Oh, and did I forget to mention that the customer service is very friendly and pleasant.  Excellent all around.  Cannot go wrong here.

Bottom Line: OTECH runs an honest, responsive, and reasonably priced business in an industry ridden with those looking to take advantage of susceptible homeowners. If having a relationship with a Plumbing / HVAC company that genuinely cares about their customers is important to you, give them a call.

I had my A/C system go out mid-July, one of the hottest times of the year. I gave OTECH a call Sunday morning, not expecting anyone to return my call until Monday at the earliest. To my astonishment, a technician picked up immediately and let me know they could be at my house in an hour. The technician quickly got to troubleshooting and identified the problem. He did a great job educating me as to what the problem was, explaining what needed to be done to fix it and gave me transparent pricing on the cost of labor and materials. An honest home-services company can be challenging to find these days, do yourself a favor and give these guys a shot.

They're now a permanent fixture in my contacts list and have earned my business for years to come.

Jafar did an excellent job of clearing a nasty clog in my driveway drain, cleaning the area, and providing helpful advice to prevent the problem in the future. He was honest to his estimate (which compared very favorably to others I previously called), and completed the work promptly. Highly recommended.

Friday evening before a hot summer weekend, the A/C in my condo stopped working.  I called around on Saturday morning and all the big companies couldn't come out until Monday.  I called OTECH and the technician was out in 3 hours.  

The technician was great: very friendly and knowledgeable.  He had a can-do attitude, he didn't give me any BS, and the quote he gave me over the phone was accurate.  He kept his word and didn't try to add extra charges.

These guys will be my go-to problem-solvers in the future.  I've used other companies before, so I know when I find a good one.  Highly recommend these guys.

Jafer is very knowledgeable and responsive.  He has a lot of patience with questions and takes the time to explain things.  I appreciate his honest and candid advice.

Called to get a quote on a new HVAC unit. The guy came out same day and said I would have the quote the next day. It has been over a week, I have followed up twice and I still haven't received the quote. The guy seemed knowledgeable but I'm not going to beg someone to take my money.

They guy was supposed to install a new water faucet we purchased. He broke a part and told me the faucet was defective. He asked me to get a replacement or a new one. I returned to broken faucet . He never came back to install it. We had to call someone else

Jafar is awesome!  He was just out looking at my hot water that has just been warm. He diagnosed quickly and gave me options at different price points. He was super patient with all of mine (and my neighbor who is having similar issues) questions. He did not put any pressure on me to go with the most expensive option of replacing and I very much appreciate that!  I have to decide which which option to move forward with but I will absolutely use him when I decide. I know why all reviews are 5 stars!
