I had Cardinal visit us for plumbing services. I wanted to use this deal. Cardinal is saying this deal applies only to their membership agreements. I cannot use this for any services I purchase from them.
Best service! Honest and expert knowledge! Willie came for our basement sewage pumping issue causing a flooded basement. I thought I'm going to need to change a new pumping which would cost $$$, but he found it's just the float being jammed and fixed it in seconds. Then he tested it and it works like a charm. Not only honest but he's smart and got expert knowledge and found the problem right away. Other company quoted me thousand dollars but cardinal fixed free! Amazing. I signed up for their membership too. Highly recommend. They also email/text you with picture when the technician is on the way. Super management!
I had a HVAC tune-up service. The technician is not quite professional. He tested my AC and tuned off the AC power so that my thermometer went offline for two days. I don't know why they make such mistake.
UPDATE: customer service is really good! Daniel called me and apologized for such inconvenience caused by the mistake, and he came back to check again to make sure everything is perfectly OK. I really appreciate his kindness and expertise.

Very professional service. We had a leak causing the drywall in our family room ceiling to stain and warp. Mark showed up exactly on time and did a very good job finding and repairing the problem.

Mark was clear and very well coordinated. There was no pressure and he did not try to up sell me on services I did not need or want.
I will use Cardinal again when the need arises. I like that they are local business and not a national chain. I think reputation is probably very important to them and they would not risk that by trying to make unnecessary repair or sales.
I was referred to Cardinal by an inspector that said they are highly recommended, honest, and not expensive. After using them for my plumbing repair, I TOTALLY agree with this! My technician, Daniel Gallardo, was extremely nice and did an amazing job! The price was extremely fair and their repair work has held up! I finally found a plumber who does good work that I can trust not to overcharge me! I highly recommend these guys!
My wife and I have a boutique Inn in Loudoun County (Stone Manor). We have had Cardinal perform several jobs including installing a bathroom, a half bath, a catering kitchen, gas lines, a housekeeping area and various emergency repairs when things have gone wrong which is apt to do when one has nine bathrooms, two powder rooms, three kitchens, a bar and multiple plumbing and gas lines servicing various areas. I initially started using Cardinal when their job quote was so much more reasonable than other local plumbing companies for installing a second half-bath in a reception area. I have continued to utilize them because their workers are knowledgeable, professional, courteous and timely. I have used previous plumbing companies during the past thirty years that my wife and I have owned Stone Manor, and none other compare to the quality of work, reasonableness of fees and professionalism of Cardinal Plumbing. This company deserves every accolade that I can offer.
I made an appointment with Cardinal for an estimate for a new HVAC. Their expert, Eric came out to inspect the unit. He was very knowledgeable and professional and by far the best HVAC specialist who has inspected the unit in the 10 years I have had it. He didn't try to sell me a new unit, explained that the issue I was having was fixable. I appreciate the honesty and professionalism and he seemed to know a lot about this particular system.

You cannot go wrong with Cardinal Plumbing. My entire experience was awesome from speaking with Kayla in Customer Service, to having AMAZING Kyle come to my house to do the work and finally a follow up email from Daniel. I had a list of random plumbing issues and Kyle worked tirelessly to get them all addressed within the needed time frame. I only wish Cardinal could handle all the things that need to be done around the house. :)
I had a clogged floor drain that needed a simple snaking that I wasn't equipped to do myself. I was impressed with the communication from start to finish on my issue. The work was a smidge expensive and I knew it, but I had a technician (Nick) who arrived on time, who made a point to take care of my floors, who did the job right the first time - I absolutely got what I paid for. The extra touch? I got an email when they were 30 minutes out including a photo of the technician who was on his way. I loved the thought behind that detail. Great job, will call again.

Just had Brian out here from Cardinal to fix my main water shut off valve. He was great. He was friendly and professional. He wore a mask and shoe covers. He seemed highly knowledgeable and took the time to walk me through the issues and the repairs before and after he made them. He worked competently. He answered all my questions and offered suggestions and recommendations. The fees were fair given the work that had to be done. He left my mechanical closet cleaner than it probably was when he went in there. I would definitely call Brian if I have any further plumbing issues (though hopefully that won't be anytime again soon). The only reason I knocked a star off is no reflection on Brian. I just hate when large, unremovable company stickers are plastered all over my appliances.
Updated review: we had cardinal out to do HVAC inspection before the heat comes. They found an issue with a capacitor that wasn't running within a 5% spec. I don't know what that means but was explained it could cause us to lose AC at some point if capacitor part fails. Our AC was working fine last summer and at time of inspection. So they quoted us $430 to replace. We got the part number and googled it with technician next to us. He wasn't expecting this and began talking about how his price was industry standard before we even found the part online (first clue of a rip off). Part online was $35. So we said if we buy it online and you install it how long would it take, he said 30 minutes. So we asked for a quote just for labor. He told us $260. That's $520 an hour. Big time price gauging. We called another HVaC company. Over the phone he quoted 80-100$ for part and install. He was there and installed the part in like 15 minutes. Cardinal definitely tried to rip us off and the technician knew it. He doesn't control the price but $430 for a 15 minute swap of a part he had in the car and the HVAC was already open ready to swap, maybe 10 minutes of extra labor? What a JOKE! If you use them google the part they want to install and ask for time necessary to work. If it's like our experience you will notice a problem
Cardinal is an exceptional company. My condo's HVAC system needed to be replaced. Cardinal dispatched an HVAC expert the day after I contacted them. Cardinal used email/text to communicate an image of the representative who was scheduled to visit my unit. He arrived on time, was super smart and professional. He gave me replacement options. I selected an option and three days later a seasoned team of 3 HVAC installers with equipment arrived on time. They were courteous, professional , efficient and fast. The new HVAC system is powerful and energy efficient. The smart thermostat they installed is impressive regarding functionality. I highly recommend Cardinal Plumbing, Heating and Air.
I called Cardinal Plumbing bc a toilet in my house was running water. They offered a convenient time and came and fixed it for$200 and the repair included a membership. A few weeks later I had a similar problem with another toilet, which was covered under my membership. Not only did Carlos come and fix that toilet,but he performed a hot water heater flush, unclogged a few sinks, and replaced/re-cauked a shower knob that had been loose. This was an AMAZING value compared to some other plumbIng companies I've had experiences with.

Cardinal is the best plumbing company around. They don't use contractors and their people are extremely competent, businesslike, and respond to your needs. Yesterday morning I called to make an appointment to install a cartridge in a tub shower. Nick K. came out and had the job done in a snap. It's now working perfectly. Whenever possible I always try to purchase the part on my own for any home repairs as it saves some money.

I used Cardinal Plumbing for a plumbing issue at my work. They were very flexible with the hours and did an excellent job, which resulted in saving me a few thousand dollars in flooring.
I recently had an issue at my house and consider using them again, and met my expectations once more! Nick Kiser showed up on time, gave us a few options, and also suggestions for the future! Their entire team, from the receptionist to their techs, are amazing. Will continue considering them for any future maintenance I may need in my house.
Fantastic service! They were friendly and very helpful when we called for service. The day of the repair, they called to let us know that they were on their way and provided an estimate time. They were prompt and completed the job quickly. So glad we found a trustworthy plumber!

I contacted Cardinal Plumbing yesterday about a problem with my gas powered water heater not working after the wind storm this weekend. They contacted me right away to set an appointment for today. They set me up for an appointment with Larry. Larry's new to the company. He's a great addition! He was knowledgeable and thorough. He got the water heater lit again but during the day the pilot went back out again because of condensation. He came back and baby sat the heater until the tank was warm and I had hot water! Larry Rocks! And so does Cardinal!!
Update to review. Limbert Pardo reached out to us to listen to our concerns. He is extremely personable and professional. Limbert immediately scheduled a time to come out and access the job. He showed up when he said he would and brought Ervin Brun, Drywall, painting, professional.
Limbert went out of his way to make things rights. I am extremely satisfied with how the situation was handled, as well as, the contractor he used to fix the job.
BUT, Limbert didn't stop there. He stopped by after the job was completed to make sure it was done right and to our satisfaction. We would use them again!!
This review is long overdue. I have a rental property and my tenant called stating that the toilet was making a terrible vibrating sound back in July 2018. I immediately searched yelp and saw that Cardinal Plumbing was highly rated. And it was so easy to schedule a quote request through yelp as well. The response time was amazing. I was provided a same day visit and the technician, Kyle Northrop, was the consummate professional. I received an email notification that he was on his way and the tenant was there to meet him. He quickly diagnosed the problem and it was a very silly one, the valve controlling the water supply line to the toilet somehow got turned and reduced the flow to a point that it would cause the supply line to vibrate and make a terrible noise as the water refiled the tank. Kyle simply turned the valve to allow more water flow to the supply line and problem solved. Here's the amazing part, Kyle provided the simple fix as a courtesy and inspected all the other toilets. He provided me a quote to refurbish the toilet parts once the tenant moved. I'll definitely be giving Cardinal Plumbing a call. It is so refreshing to see an honest business that values customer service. Thank you to Cardinal Plumbing.

After waiting on hold for ten minutes each for two other local plumbers, I call Cardinal and someone actually answered the phone on the third ring. No long irritating recorded message about how important I am to them, and what button to push if I want to shoot myself in frustration. Then they gave me a two-hour window the next morning--not four hours, not all day, not they will call you and tell you when THEY can come--and the plumber actually came half an hour early. He finished the work quickly and professionally, and honored a $150 Angie's List coupon so my $500 to fix two leaky toilets was reduced to $350. If you want an old-fashioned plumber who answers the phone, gives you a sensible time frame, and puts the customer first, I really recommend this company. From now on, I will only call them.
The drain to the pedestal sink in our new house started leaking so we called these guys out. Cardinal charged us $285 to fix the drain but two hours later it started leaking again. Cardinal said they'd have to take the sink apart and it would be an additional $580 to come back and fix it. So we called F & L Plumbing and they fixed the entire problem for $165. Additionally, since the sink was apart, F & L installed a new faucet (I purchased separately) at that price!
STAY AWAY FROM CARDINAL -They are outrageously priced and incompetent. Plumber runs your credit card and you never get a receipt. The billing office is impossible to reach.

There was an original install that had a tjoint incorrectly glued. Cardinal stood behind it's work, assessed the water damage and supported the drywall fix. I'm so impressed with Manny and was previously, he did another part of the plumbing not this one. Cardinal stands behind its work and I so appreciate their responsiveness and support to the work.
This is a LONG TERM quality contractor not a shoddy work contractor. I'm so grateful to rely on good, ethical people that stand behind their work and want a reputation of providing good service. They do and they get rid of people that jeopardize that, even better, reinforcing their own quality of service.

I found Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air through Angie's List...and scheduled an appointment. They were responsive on the phone, and for the service appointment the technician, Thomas, was prompt, courteous, professional. He told me about their biannual service for heating/cooling and plumbing, and it was very reasonable, so I signed up! Cardinal contacted me when the weather turned to schedule the first check up. Today Thomas again came out and did a thorough check of our furnace. He found the motor was very dirty and so He cleaned the motor after I approved the additional charge. It required him to take apart the motor, clean it and put it all back together. He took pictures to document each step of the procedure, before and after. I was very impressed! Daniel also came to check the plumbing and did a great job. I am one happy customer! I highly recommend this company.

Contacted Cardinal around 9 am, didn't realize their office was open at 7 am I think. Arranged to meet technician between 12:00-2:00 pm. I advised I worked 10 minutes from home and they would let me know about 10 minutes before arrival. Sure enough I was sent a text right about 1:00 pm. Ironically their office is very close to mine and soon as I left I pulled in behind a Cardinal van, matching the turns I'd take I knew it had to be my guy who was driving professional and responsibly. He took one way on my street and I took another. Met Zack Eanes who was clean and very courteous and greeted me very professionally. Right away he opened my clean out and got to work. He hit some blockage soon after entering the pipe but said he wanted to run it all the way through and he did. It was estimated to run well into the Service Authority's system. He then dropped in the camera I had requested and found another small blockage and pulled the camera out reinserting the snake with a large head and ran the pipe again. He then put in the camera and took us into the Authority's pipe showing me. Gave us a clean bill of health as it was just minor roots. Said see how it does and let them know of any issues. No high pressure sell up, just good clean work and fast! I'll no doubt use them again and will request Zack again. Thanks to Zacha and Cardinal!
Had a blocked exterior hose faucet and Jake showed up the same day within 2 hours of me calling them. Other folks I got estimates from wanted to charge me $500+ to replace the whole bib and some pipes. Jake thoroughly analyzed the issue and with one back flush realized it just needed to be flushed. It took him less than 30 minutes and then asked if there was anything else he could look at while he was here. Needless to say the trust was earned so ended up having him repair a leaky sink and seal a previous plumbers shotty soldier work. I will be using Cardinal for everything plumbing moving forward and do yourself a favor - ask for Jake!! Thanks to Cardinal, my daughter now can play outside in her sprinkler and on her water table and wife was finally able to water the garden and flowers without filling up watering cans from inside. Also I got to pressure wash my truck, which made this a win for the whole family.
They showed up when they said they would; did the work for the price the quoted; cleaned up after they were done, and gave me some suggestions and advice for other things, without trying to pressure me into anything. Can't ask for much more.
I had a responsive and competitive quote from Cardinal and selected them to replace my water heater and fix some other connections. Tommy Davis arrived on time and did a terrific job in replacing the heater and answering all of my questions. He also did a great job of cleaning up. This is the first time I've used Cardinal but certainly won't be the last. I highly recommend this company and Tommy Davis.
Daniel's knowledge and proferssioal service totally exceeded my expectatons. I had a clogged sink, which he snaked and repiped, and he gave me tips on products I should and should not use so that I won't damage the plumbing. He also fixed a leaking faucet/sink. He tested many times to make sure the problems have been resolved. The individual job pricing was not super cheap, but he gave me a discount for multiple jobs performed, and gave me a yelp discount. For the quality of service, it was definitely reasonable, and I highly recommend them.

I would give Cardinal Plumbing and Tony De Mar 10 stars if it were possible. I called Cardinal because I had water coming from a drain pipe in my basement. Tony came out, took a look, told me it was the emergency or overflow drain for my washing machine on the 2nd floor. There is an overflow drain below the washing machine that sends water directly down through a pipe that feeds into the basement drain. He said that the problem was that my washing machine was leaking.
I called the appliance company with which I have a maintenance contract for the machine. They sent out someone who maintained that the washing machine didn't leak, that I needed to call a plumber. After researching, I felt that another washing machine technician was required to investigate more thoroughly than the first person had done. This person came out and again maintained I needed to call a plumber.
So I called Cardinal back. Tony came out and investigated and said it had to be the washing machine but there was no way to know for sure without getting the washing machine (a washer/dryer combo) out of the closet something that requires 2 people. He called someone who could come the next day to help so Tony returned to my house the following morning with a second person. They got the washing machine out of the closet and tested it. And there it was leaking and leaking far more water than anticipated. I am so grateful to Tony for doing such a thorough job and not giving up until he got to the root of the problem. And I'm lucky that he had washing machine expertise to go along with his plumbing expertise.
Scheduling for an appointment was super easy through an app and received confirmation via email and text. Mike showed up within the 3 hour appointment window and explained the issues very well. My evaporator coils for the AC weren't completely defrosted so Mike came back the following morning and completed the recharge and outdoor AC cleaning in short order. Options were explained and I ended up getting their membership to have them come out biannually for both heating and cooling. These guys are awesome and super friendly. Highly recommend!
We're very happy with Cardinal Plumbing and the HVAC system they installed is fantastic. While we had an initial installation problem, they more than made up for it. Separately, we just had a visit with Carlos yesterday mainly to help us better understand the system and he could not have been more helpful and professional.

Very happy with the work performed by Daniel at our house. He was very professional and did an excellent job. Appreciate his punctuality and workmanship. I would definitely use Cardinal Plumbing again and would recommend the company to my friends and family.
Not responsive to customers. Can't explain their work but then try to up sell you. Would not recommend this company.
Shane T. did an absolutely fabulous and very thorough job of replacing the water heater in my home. The old water heater was so gunked up with sediment from the hard water in the county that it wouldn't drain. Shane managed to get it outside, where he drained it safely. He then installed the new water heater and even showed me how to maintain it myself. That speaks hugely of his honesty and that of Cardinal's. Shane was also very pleasant and professional. This is the third job I've had Cardinal do in my home. This company is the bomb.
This place really does deserve 5 stars. When I saw so many 5-star reviews I wondered if some were fake. Not likely.
Professional, courteous, prompt, honest, knowledgeable and efficient. Each task they do in your house is based on a flat rate and discounts are provided on additional tasks performed on the same visit.
Daniel Gallardo was able to fix problems left behind by other plumbers.
I contacted this company based on their Yelp reviews and was thrilled that they lived up to the praise. I was told the plumber would call and/or arrive between 11 am and 1:00 pm. Daniel arrived around 10:00 am. I was out so when he called I let him know that he'd have to wait until I was able to get home, about 10 minutes. He said no problem, take your time...very nice! Without even turning on the water or looking at anything, he knew exactly the cause of our problem based on my description (leaky tub spout and a squealing sound when the shower is on) and gave me an estimate. Due to the age of the plumbing, he warned me that it could be worse but if it is, he will stop his work and let me decide how to proceed. It turned out to be what he expected and the estimate was the price I paid (expensive however, isn't all plumbing?). I'm very satisfied with the service I received today.

I had a new water heater installed by Kyle and HVAC service by Thomas. Both technicians know what they are doing and went above and beyond, while really taking the time to explain what was going on and answer any and all questions. Every component of my interaction with Cardinal was top notch including scheduling, phone and email communication when the technician was en-route including a picture of the technician, as well as using ipads/software to quickly generate invoices/estimates and take payment. These guys don't get paid on commission like many of the big plumbing companies, so they aren't going to BS or try to upsell you on things you don't need.

Ok, this is the FIRST positive review I've written since moving to Virginia . I've had to use Cardinal plumbing twice in the last week.
First off - THEY SPEAK AMERICAN ENGLISH!! I could actually talk to them - haven't had that in years out here - most times I'm struggling to communicate.
The first job was a sewer that backed up again ( twice in one year). The first company didn't clear the clog properly so it backed up again. Thank God I hadn't replace the carpet yet.
Willie was the Cardinal technician and really spent a significant amount of time figuring out what the problem was and how to solve it. In fact it was he that discovered that it was clogged in TWO places. I could hear the drill he was using to clear things out. I guarantee you that was not what was done the first time around.
Second call was Jesse to fix a broken pipe underneath the sink. I happened to mention that I thought I may needed to buy a new dishwasher because its not working well - I thought fixing the sewer back up problem would help - but it didn't. Jesse had a look and saw that I had some gunk ( what looked to me like paper) stuck in some of the water holes. He took a couple of minutes to clear it out and he didn't charge me for doing it - but he saved me hundreds of dollars because I don't need to buy a new dishwasher.
Also love the fact that Cardinal sends over a text message with a picture of technician coming in advance and provides a write up of their experience. Got my invoice via email immediately - which I prefer these days - easier to manage than paper and not lose.
Top notch outfit. Just keep paying your technicians well so they stay with the company!
I don't write reviews, let alone for a plumbing company but everyone needs to know how amazing their service is! I called 4 plumbers because our water heater went down. They answered on the first ring rather than having to leave a message, I got a text with technician's photo that he was on his way, he also called to let me know he was on his way. AND he was out within 2 hours (earlier than quoted!) He educated me on our system as well while doing the work! GREAT service at a very reasonable price! I now have my go-to plumber and one I can proudly recommend
OK! What a great job installing kitchen sink, faucet and garbage disposal. Cardinal also fixed a leaky pipe in the ceiling above the oven. Very professional, very clean, thorough job. My wife and I are very impressed. We supplied the sink, faucet and disposal and there was a defective part. Cardinal was kind enough to replace the piece free of charge.

Had a pipe burst in our basement ceiling and George came in and was extremely patient and professional. Will definitely recommend this company for all your plumbing needs
They do good work, but are very expensive. The technician was efficient and fast, but I got charged basically three hours' worth of labor for a job that took only an hour and a half. Apparently because 3 hours' is the standard amount of work it should have taken, so that's what I got charged for. Unfortunately I was between a rock and a hard place because I was about to leave the country, otherwise I would have shopped around a bit more. Lesson learned - will likely not be using them again and will get several more quotes next time.
We have been long-time customers of Cardinal and have consistently had professional and responsive service. This includes sump pumps, bathroom and kitchen sinks, disposals, water heater, toilets and more. While they do not claim to be the cheapest company we have found the value to be good for premium service. Recently enrolled in their service plan and are seeeing the benefits. Shane was excellent in recent service calls and Nikolai was super helpful. Danny has been a trusted partner also going back many years.

Really disappointed in Cardinal. I used them last year and found them reasonable. When they were last here I asked them about replacing my kitchen faucet and the technician said it was $425. However, the technician recommended I go buy one as it would be higher quality and less expensive than what they would install, and would cost $225 to install. I just had them back and after the technician couldn't find a price to install a customer-provided faucet, he called his manager who said $425.

Fantastic customer service! I had a home inspector who had identified two minor issues to my HVAC. Thomas from Cardinal came out to check out the issues. He was able to easily fix one of them. After clarification from my real estate agent on the second issue, he was able to determine that the home inspector was incorrect about his diagnosis and recommended repair. Thomas wrote up a report for the real estate agent documenting the details and I was quickly email it to my real estate agent. I was only charged for a service call. I would definitely use Cardinal again!
I had a clogged bathroom sink which wouldn't budge. Tried everything including hand-held snake. They gave me appointment for the same day. Mark came and eventually unclogged the system. The price was compatible with independent plumbers sometimes I work with, but the job was very professional. The only reason I didn't give 5 star is because he should have been a little more careful with the vanity.. I know the darn ''snake'' wants to turn but a bit of plastic under it would have prevented scratches to the (very expensive) vanity..
Luckily I do have touch up paint..

The first plumber I called never showed, the second one seemed a bit unprofessional (and pricy). I chose Cardinal because of the way they handle their business. I like the photo of the tech you'll be expecting, the text when they're on their way and the quick email of estimates and receipts. Mostly, though, because if CJ. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He put me at ease immediately and gave some good advice on product choices. He did a great job explaining the issues that came up and resolved them quickly. Highly recommend both CJ and Cardinal.

Professional service. Nick explained the options for the work I needed and we selected service and parts and priced it on the spot using his tablet. Then he picked up the a few parts needed and finished it up all in about 3 hours from first visit to finishing up the task. Quick, Efficient & Knowledgeable! We had a leak coming though our ceiling Saturday and they responded immediately to schedule an appointment the following Monday. The plumber was very knowledgeable and explained what the problem was fixed the leak in the same appointment. We are very satisfied and will use them for any of our plumbing needs in the future.

Very expensive.. I highly suggest you shop around before committing to them. We found some great HVAC repairmen for nearly half the price. Our salesman also was misleading and told us that our HVAC system is over 15 years old. We didn't believe him, so we called the company (Goodman). Goodman verified that our system was installed in 2013 (7 years old). It's a common tactic for these companies to say that your system is too old, or too broken, so you pay for an entirely new system. Be careful!

I had a really good experience with Cardinal Plumbing today. I was able to get same-day service without any charge for an emergency. I made an appointment on the phone this morning - it was super easy. I used one of their coupon's from Angie's List (you have to be a member), and it was a good deal. I ultimately paid $200 total for them to unclog a kitchen sink (which required a really long snake) and to put chemicals in the sink to break up the food that was causing the problem. Even though it took a little longer than I think they expected -- b/c we found out it was more complicated -- they stuck to the original price we had agreed on with no problem. So, I'm happy with the experience. They were very courteous, hard-working, and no hassle.

After seeing Cardinal had a high rating on Yelp I decided to give them a call to have my A/C checked. I received excellent customer service when booking the appointment and was surprised they had availability with 48 hours of my call. That's where the positives end. My appointment window of 12pm to 4pm was not adhered to. The dispatcher called me at 3pm to tell me the service tech couldn't make it until after 4pm. I said as long as they arrived before 5pm, I would still be available. At 4:30 pm the dispatcher calls again and says they cannot arrive until maybe 5:45. I told the dispatcher that I had already stated I wasn't available after 5pm. She seemed taken a back by this and I promptly advised I would be going with another company. When reading the reviews, I saw complaints that Cardinal is much more expensive than their competitors, and seeing a company representative justifying their prices based on their service record and warranteed service and parts. While I agree that you get what you pay for, in my experience, look elsewhere because Cardinal does not honor the consumer's time and has a terrible sense of entitlement.

First positive thing, they have service hours 7 days a week, so when our toilet needed repair on Friday morning, I could get an appointment for Sunday morning. Next the plumber George A. arrived on time. He was able to assess the problem, fix it and explain what happened. Cardinal is now going to be my go to plumbing company.
I paid $780 to snake a 2nd floor clogged main. I agreed to it, so I can't complain. The context is that I agreed to it under duress, after waiting three days to take a shower without blackwater in the tub, and this is not Cardinal's fault. When the quote was provided to me, I would have had to set up more appointments with other companies to compare prices, which could have taken a few more days. My lesson learnt, which I am sharing with you, is to inquire about each company's fee schedule (eg. ask the cost to unclog the tub, the cost to unclog the 2nd floor main, etc) so that one can try to compare fees across companies. We were uncomfortable snaking the main ourselves in case we might cause additional damage.
In short, I happily rate the the service and the technician five stars, but the fees hurt and appear to be double local prices. That reduces my ability to recommend without reservations.
I had a water heater installed by Cardinal Plumbing in August and they did not do a good job because now the hot water heater closet cannot close and the hot water heater is not connected to the alarm as it was before. I have been calling to get Cardinal Plumbing to fix these issues and I continue to get no action and not communication. This is very unfortunate. I would have expected better service.
Had the tech come out for an exhaust pipe extension. The service was fast and prompt. The only thing was that the tech was running late and showed up an hour after the promised time but didn't really bother me as I was asleep. But great service and would use again. Also used the yelp deal.
Good service. Issue reoccured after first visit, but they came back to fix it. Very professional.

Definitely recommend Cardinal Plumbing. George was on time , courteous and did not push us to get the repair done -- the cost of repair did not justify ( we will be putting a new appliance instead). For our future plumbing repairs , I know I am calling Cardinal again . Thanks a lot!
5 stars for speed and Willy and Twanda who called to coordinate it all! 4 stars because that was a ton of money to unclog a toilet.
Honestly, I have enough going on this week so just having one less thing to do/worry about made it worth it to me to pay almost $300 to have a 2 minute auger done. Sadly, me saving $20 and getting a 3 foot auger instead of a 6 was the reason I spent the money today.
Lesson learned, but glad I have someone that shows up quickly and fixes things!
Our A/C went out during a recent heat wave and we have 2 small children. I called Cardinal and they sent out a Design Technician to our home. He was nice and professional and stayed 2-hours to get through his checklist.
Cardinal does a great job of communicating up to the hand-off to their Design Consultants and this is where the process and customer satisfaction portion of their service really failed.
I received 3 different quotes and agreed on a replacement unit and cost and asked for the earliest possible installation date. I kept asking for a sales order form and confirmation of the installation date. I never received a sales order form. After several texts and phone calls (that were never answered) I finally grew frustrated and called the main office to get a response.
They reached out to their design consultant and he sent a text that said he'd get back to me. He never did. I did receive an auto-text from somebody claiming to be the owner, but the contact card included in the text was broken, which is kind of fitting. I never followed-up because I don't hire people who don't do what they say they're going to do.
I was able to call another provider and same day they sent out somebody to the house. He spent 30 minutes going through his checklist (not 2-hours). They sent me a sales order form that night and they gave me their earliest installation date, which was 3-4 days from our agreement/signature.
All it would have taken for Cardinal was to have the design consultant respond with the truth. If you can't help me, fine. If your installation date is later than anticipated, fine.
The fact that I call the main office and asked for follow-up should also have warranted a call from a manager/owner.
Recommendation to Cardinal Ownership: You guys need to own the hand-off to the design consultants from a communications perspective and deals won/lost. You really need quality control over this portion of your business and at least with this design consultant.
I'd also recommend digging into his particular deals/conversations b/c I surely can't be the only one who is experiencing this lack of communication...who does business this way?
I literally cut the check with the new company and I'll probably need more help with some of the additional properties that I own/will own. On top of that, I felt compelled to write this negative review (which I never do unless they're positive) and I don't have time for this really. That's how upset we are about this.

Had a major kitchen remodel on a rental property I own and needed to have all the plumbing reconstructed after cabinets were replaced. Also required installation of faucet, and disposer. I called on Mon. morning, got a visit from Chris R. around 1pm and by 6pm the work was done. I called several other companies...one couldn't come same day, one no answer, 1 only does service work and call #4 was to Cardinal. Also charged me 2/3 what another company previously proposed. Very happy with the workmanship, the professionalism and the prompt service from Chris R. I'll use them again.
I had a gas leak that required new piping in my basement.
Cardinal showed up within a couple hours of my call and completed the work quickly at a much lower price than I anticipated.

Had them add a trap to a faulty sink. Showed up on time in centreville va, did outstanding work and stuck to the original quote. Would use them again in a heart beat.
We recently had Cardinal Plumbing come out to fix a leaky shut-off valve under the sink in our new home. Overall, I found their technician thorough, knowledgeable and incredibly professional. They are the type of company I would trust with a project where you didn't want to take any chances. I do not doubt that their work will hold up to the test of time. That said, the only downside was their pricing. The quote we received for further (non-urgent) work was well-above those received from other plumbing companies. Bottom line: With Cardinal, you get what you pay for - Top notch work that comes at a price.
Prompt, reasonably priced, effective, and professional. Cardinal Plumbing found the source of sewer gas in my basement and then repaired a broken toilet seal that was the culprit. They arrived exactly on time, were way cheaper than other local plumbers, did a great job explaining what they were doing, and do all billing/invoicing online and via tablets. I can't recommend them enough.
I am a first-time home owner and I had a leak in my basement bathroom. I made the appointment on Thursday and Zach came out Friday morning. He had to cut a hole in the drywall to find the leak, and he was forced to remove tiles out of the shower. He tried very hard to only remove the tiles that were necessary. He found the leak and repaired the pipe, which originated from my sump pump. He also gave me a military discount. He even cleaned up the tiles and vacuumed afterward. Zach was so great, and will be returning next week to install a battery back-up to my sump pump. Overall it was a very positive experience. Cardinal also recommended a water remediation company for the water damage, and a drywall repair company to repair the drywall.

Super easy to make an appointment. Daniel was on time and completed the work I needed. Explained my options and what needed to be done and cleaned up everything when he was done. It is better to have a few jobs because prices get cheaper. Highly recommend and I will be using them again. Nice to have a go to plumber.
Called to request an appointment and Daniel came out the same day. He is such a nice guy and very professional. He diagnosed the problem, told me how much it would cost to make the repair and then fixed the problem. He showed up when he said he would and left the work area clean when he was done.

I needed some faucets replaced and a leaky disposal replaced. I called on a Friday and someone was at my unit Monday am. I received an email notifying me with a photo of Nick (great technician) and a link so I could see exactly where he was in his route to my unit. I also received a text and a phone call. He gave me a quote once he saw everything and I authorized. Because it is a rental I wasn't there and once work was completed he emailed me photos of everything he did. I am so happy I have found this company. Highly recommend. Efficient and trustworthy. Oh and he noticed my toilet was dripping and replaced the flapper too. Glad he mentioned that or I would probably have had a large water bill.

Kyle did a great job on replacing the hot water heater. I really like how he took the time to route all the piping in the most efficient manner possible. He finished ahead of time and did a great job on cleanup. I will go to Cardinal for all my future plumbing and HVAC needs.
Their technicians have performed an HVAC tune-up and plumbing maintenance. They provide excellent customer service, are timely, and clearly explain the services they are providing. I would highly recommend.
My water heater went out and their technician ( Tommy ) came and fixed the issue . His manager ( Chris) was following up with till the issue resolved . I do recommended this company . They are very fair .
I had Cardinal come out and replace/install a new water heater in my condo. They also did a major toilet rebuild to both toilets in my unit. I was very pleased with the work that they did. Kyle Northrop was the technician and he was a joy to work with. Technicians seem to be good and understand the issues. The company however, even if you have a service agreement which supposedly includes discounts, seems to always overprice repairs significantly. Have gotten 3 quotes from them for simple repairs (ac and plumbing) under our service agreement. Concerned that their estimates for repair seemed above what we believed was standard, prior to the repairs we got additional quotes. In every case the competitors were significantly less expensive for the exact same work. In multiple cases the competitor quotes were 30-45% lower! The idea that a repair that takes 30 minutes or less should require $350 or more in labor does not make sense to me. Looking at quotes we received from Cardinal, then comparing to the time it took to do the work, it is hard to accept that plumbing or ac services should cost $600-$800 per hour. For each of 3 recent repairs, though we have a service agreement with Cardinal, we used another company to deliver the services. Doesn't make sense. Except for their pricing practices, we would recommend and continue to use the services of Cardinal. With so many options locally it doesn't make sense.
One typically doesn't associate the word classy with plumbing, but I have to say, Cardinal Plumbing is in fact a classy company. This is the second time we've used them--3d including 2 weeks ago when George came out for a no-charge assessment on the water heater-- and know that our first good impressions were no fluke . Highly ethical; fair pricing; polite and skilled plumbers. Thanks to Tony for his excellence and diligence in this most recent issue of changing out the shower valve.
Carlos stopped by to replace the backyard faucet with frost free spigot. He diagnosed the situation then began work immediately. There was no small talk until the requested job was completed. Quick and efficient. I would recommend this company...
So efficient starting from when I called through the whole visit. Roger Cruz was friendly, professional and explained everything for me.
Even with a mask I could tell he was smiling. I will definitely call again when needed since I bought the membership! Thanks Roger!!

Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air just want your money. I was charged $185 just to have an issue diagnosed. The techs then started to upsell me on basically renovating my entire bathroom. I just want a leak fixed not to spend thousands of dollars renovating my bathroom. Try to find a reputable independent plumber or contractor. Most of the popular big-name companies that have tons of five-star reviews are just out to drain your bank account.
Daniel personally intervened in a scheduling and missed appointment issue, and turned it into a customer service win. Very impressed by the company's commitment to quality and appreciated Daniel's expertise in assessing my project and crafting a solution. Cannot yet comment on finished work but will update this review when that happens.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Cardinal Plumbing. They were able to get someone out to look at my water leak issue within a few hours. George, the technician was very friendly and helped identify the problem. I will be getting Cardinal for any plumbing needs in the future and highly recommend them!!
Well, we are in the midst of discussions with this company about their billing for a simple electric water heater install. While the initial tech said their prices are competetive, their charges were all but that. The total bill was over $2090 to install a $600-$700 (retail) water heater. The average cost to replace a water heater in this area is reportedly (internet data) $1000 or less. Something way wrong here. Will update this review with pro or con once discussion with this bill is completed.
Update: the owner called and we discussed the bill. He was very courteous and was willing to work with me on my expectations and in staying a happy customer. The bill was reviewed and adjusted satisfactorial, pending a refund onto the credit card. The rating will be updated further when the adjustment is complete. The credit was indeed recieved. So, two recommendations here: (1) Always gets several estimates, if possible, that clearly state the materials and labor, (2) if there becomes a concern with a service or bill, with Cardinal Plumbing in this case, contact the owners, as customer satisfaction is a top priority.

Our heat had been out for 3 days. Another company came and told me I had to replace the thermostat. Three thermostats later, it still didn't work and we call Cardinal. Alberto arrived on time, and the email notifications on his way here were very convenient. He performed trouble-shooting where the previous company had not even look. He found the problem: a blown fuse in the furnace. And the thermostat was wired incorrectly. Ended up taking the new thermostats back and using the one we started with. Price was not bad. I will definitely hire them again!

Exceptional service by this company. We've been in touch with many companies trying to find the source of a leak we had in our house and finally the issue was resolved with Cardinal. Our technician Mark was very thorough and attentive and even took time to explain everything to us. We are blown away at how kind and easy this company was to work with.
Kyle arrived on time and as communicated. There was some evidence of water and debris backing out of a second drain in the utility room and he determined the root cause as the sump pump that was not running as expected with the full amount of water that was in it. He investigated the sump pump, manually set it off and showed us what was happening. He clearly explained the sump pump options that were available and we are happily getting it replaced before the next storm. It's nice to have someone take the time to explain things. We never felt rushed. I would definitely consider using this company for any plumbing/water related issue.

Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air did a great job for me and my home. I was able to talk through my concerns, options and find a quick solution. My heat pump died just a short time before Christmas. I called Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air and they came out the same day. My existing system was past its service life and repair would have been near impossible due to supply chain issues and COVID. My tech helped my identify a new more efficient and environmentally friendly system and it was installed in a day including removal of the old system. With short notice need, they also helped me find financing options so I wouldn't have to pay the full amount out of pocket just before the holiday.
Cardinal plumbing replaced a leaking water pressure valve for us. Nikolai is very professional and knowledgable. I was very happy with the service and would hire them again for other plumbing issues.

found them on angies list. husband turned off water before going out of town. when returned home late at night, he was unable to turn water back on. cardinal came out next day, took one look at valve & realized husband was trying to move valve wrong way !!! no charge. and to make us feel better - advised that this was not first time this has happened.
will definately call back when we actually need plumbing assistance !!

They were friendly and efficient. Nick came to replace a shut off valve. He did a fine job. The original charge of $260 was pricey. I complained and Danny the owner called me personally to work out a fairer price. Prefer working with local small businesses if possible. Would call them again but make sure I understand the pricing.
I called to schedule an appointment and get an estimate for the repair. The answering service person scheduled my appointment before giving me an opportunity to ask for an estimate. I received a text containing the appointment details. When I asked for an estimate his response was he told me the dispatch price was $49.00 (which I agreed to), I said yes you did but I would like an estimate for the entire service. He said the technician would give me an estimate upon their arrival and inspection. Since I could not obtain a price or a price range I requested the appointment be cancelled. He said I had to call back on the same number and request a cancellation. I don't do business with a service company without getting estimates for comparisons.
I had Marlon from Cardinal Plumbing install a vessel sink in my bathroom. He arrived on time and left the bathroom nice and clean. He was even able to improvise with the wrong parts I had purchased. I will be calling them again and I definitely recommend.

I had a bit of a problem with Cardinal in that they did the job well but did no clean up. After I reviewed them in Yelp with the clean up problem, one of the owners got in touch with me to offer apologies and insisted that a clean up crew would be in touch to not only clean the powder room which was left in a mess but the whole house. I was genuinely impressed. I did not believe that kind of service still existed, so needless to say I would recommend Cardinal Plumbing to anyone that needs Plumbing work.

Scheduling an appointment for same day was easy.

Listened to my concerns and assessed the situation.
Explained the work and costs involved.
Got right to work and resolved the issue in a clean and professional manner.
First off, I don't know how Cardinal Plumbing received an email that I have sent to another company I found on yelp asking about water heater install. I know for sure that I did not come across Cardinal during my search and I know for sure that I did not send the company an email through yelp regarding getting an estimate. Giving Cardinal Plumbing two stars because of their polite customer service over the phone and quick yelp messaging (like I said above, I did not sent them a message). Since Cardinal got my message and from the positive reviews I shrugged off the mystery message and decided to schedule an appointment for an estimate. The tech came on time, didn't really say much as fas as just hi, my name is ..... He came in, didn't really look at my old water heater, he immediately went on his phone and started making some sort of inventory search or something. He asked me why wasn't this installed and that installed. After 5 minutes he gave me a quote, and I noticed he included an expansion tank install, I asked him what is an expansion tank? He explains to me that an expansion tank is needed to regulate the pressure of the house and it's part of city code to have it installed. After the tech sent me the quote and made his way out. I researched the expansion tank to see if it's required by the county. I did some more research and asked other plumbing companies regarding the expansion tank and they said its not required unless the Fairfax county city codes changed or if you have a big house. The quote that Cardinal Plumbing gave me was A LOT more than what other companies quoted me. I did not go with them because of the add on work that was not required and somehow receiving my message on yelp when I did not send them one.
Conclusion, Giving them a 2 star rating for quick response and friendly customer service.
EDIT 6.25.17: Cardinal plumbing did receive a message from me. I did not notice the yelp feature that selects other businesses when you click on Request Quote when sending a message. My apologies.
They were convenient in they had times available to perform a service call quickly and lots of flexibility in appointment times, but their prices seemed really high.
I'm blown away by Cardinal's service. Tommy came by after calling to make sure the time worked. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He spent time examining my pluming problem, offered a solution and promised to come back if the issue wasn't resolved. It ended being a quick fix with my washer hose and I am so very grateful for his help!

This review would be five stars except for one employee of this company. First with the positive. Had few plumbing repairs by Cardinal over the years. Not long ago and recent one tech JackL came. Though he is new with the company, his past specific experience allowed our major plumbing work to proceed, him knowing an alternative water shut off no other plumber from other companies pursued over the years. Jack, showed up timely, professional, caring (similar to some doctors, he personable with great bedside manner), thorough with his work, answered questions. better than average in cleaning up afterwards, and could not ask for better. Other positives of Cardinal not repeated here and can find in others Yelp reviews.
One other recent contact not so positive. Another tech though truthful about our older hone overall plumbing situation, though very expensive to repair overall, most people do not do unless forced to, he scared us initially about the most severe result, destroying house. Afterwards had someone doing general repair work for us with 20 years experience, he said he never had a customer with worst case result with this plumbing situation, about as low as risk as property damage happening from a tornado in No. VA. Definitely something to monitor for leaks, only had one which another tech from Cardinal fixed years ago.
My job is not complete yet but my initial visit was great. My service guy was Carlos. He was very professional and easy to talk to. He came earlier than expected but called which was nice. He did everything to find out what the problem is and I expect to see him back soon.
On another note, I called in the afternoon and was able to get an appointment the next morning which was great.

Cardinal Plumbing is very professional at their job. I have used them a couple of times for small jobs around the house. Every time they show right on time and don't have me waiting for them. I highly recommend them for any plumbing work you might need.

I called them to check out a leaky toilet. So they charge $50 per visit. The technician said all the toilet insides needed to be replaced and that would total around $400, then suggested I might just change the entire toilet since it's an old one, and that was almost $1000. A few weeks later I bought a new toilet flapper and new handle from Home Depot at a total price of $16 and fixed the leak myself. Nice try to rip me off guys!

Called them first thing on Monday about a clogged condensation line (discovered Sunday afternoon). While it was not an emergency situation, Mark was at the house within the hour and was super professional, helpful and quick. He diagnosed the problem, explained it articulately, and I appreciate the emailed invoice which included photos of the work performed. I will be using them again AND recommending them to others.

I'm updating my review from 1 star to 3. This week (11/6/17) I received a voicemail from one of the owners, requesting a callback to discuss our previous experience. I was not able to promptly call back but had planned to. I just received a visit from this owner who wanted to make a personal apology for what happened with our last job.
Nikolai was very apologetic and expressed genuine concern for wanting to make things right. While this doesn't change what happened, it really gives me closure. Customers can rest assured that Cardinal will not only investigate, but take steps to improve the situation. That says a lot. I've always maintained that they do good work and the guys doing the work are exceptional in both attitude and skill. Because of the amount of effort Nikolai put into restoring this situation, my feelings about the company have improved significantly.

I definitely do not recommend this company. While our first experience with them went well, my most recent did not. I will say that all of the workers that came to our home were professional, courteous and friendly.
Cardinal did work for us recently which included locating a leak in the water main and bringing the existing water main to code. It was during the attempts at locating the leak that they tore through the water main where the line enters the house. That relocation work was not done correctly and subsequently water leaked into our bedroom. We waited for nearly 4 weeks for resolution and nobody contacted us to get the work fixed - I had to call them. When I called Cardinal to ask why nobody had corrected the issue, I was told by one of the receptionists that she thought our job was taken care of. She also reprimanded me for leaving an unpaid invoice. It was unpaid because water was still leaking into our basement and there was a gaping 5 foot deep hole in my yard.
We ended up calling another company to fix the work. The second company was stellar, outstanding and prompt.
The second company fixed the leak, re-waterproofed the area that they had installed a few years ago AND backfilled the hole.
It's been several weeks since the work was completed and we have paid the invoice to Cardinal. Per their estimate, they were to come back and seed the two areas of our lawn that have been left bare. When I requested the completion of this final portion of the job, I was told to call the second company, as the second company back filed one of the two holes. (the other one had been back filled weeks ago by Cardinal).
I didn't argue with the person on the phone. I decided it really wouldn't get me anywhere to attempt a discussion or split hairs. If that's how they want to leave this, that's on them. I just won't recommend them to anyone in the future.
George was professional, courteous and personable. The work was performed as promised.
While the quality of the work was good, the sump pump replacement cost was exorbitant. I should have shopped around to compare costs.
I also had a great experience with Cardinal Plumbing. I had a relatively minor problem -- my shower faucet broke -- and Danny fixed it in about two minutes. He also upgraded my shower head for a mere $25 extra. Sure these were easy fixes, but nothing I could have done. He was did quick and thorough work. I don't need a plumber very often, but these are the guys I will call.

Michael came to do regular fall check up of the AC system and he was professional and did a great job of inspecting both the inside and outside units. He didn't have a replacement Filter on him but promised will have some mailed to me.
Cardinal Plumbing team are exceptional! I have used them twice and they will be my go to for all plumbing needs going forward. The entire experience from requesting a quote, getting a call back to book appointment, communicating with the technician, and the actual on-site service was nothing but exceptional. Willie Lopez was our most recent technician and we couldn't be happier with the service he provided and professionalism.

Do not recommend. We were existing customers with Cardinal and used them a few times for fixing our plumbing issues and installing our water heater. The first few times went well. However, when our AC broke down during the summer, we called them 3 times to schedule emergency appointment to fix our AC. Each time they confirmed the appointment but in the end no one showed up. The people who took the calls seemed to be clueless each time we called. We had to stay in the hotel for a few days and in the end had another company come out and fix the issue for us.
Now our water heater which cardinal installed just broke down (not implying this was necessarily their fault) but we will not be using their service ever again.
My water heater suddenly went out and I needed one replaced immediately. Used cardinals online booking system and had a tech out the next morning.
They text you to confirm and include a picture of the technician so you know exactly who to expect. I had Michael and Aaron previously and both of them were fantastic.
New water heater install cost about $2400 and then I added on their lifetime insurance through the monthly membership which is $18 per month. Also included annual inspections to hvac and water heater so I thought it was a good deal to hold myself accountable for preventative services.
Highly recommend - they are fantastic.
Cardinal repiped our home back in 2021 and I don't think job was well done. It took several tries to get drywall done correctly. Not only that there's loud vibrating noise when flushing toilet. I've contacted the company & technician came out and checked around but didn't fixed the issue yet stated don't think it's plumbing issue. To date it has become noticeable & loud. The amount of money put into this repiped I expected better service. From my experience, I wouldn't recommend Cardinal.

I cannot recommend Danny and his company highly enough! Late on a Friday afternoon, as I was awaiting a dinner guest, I discovered that my basement was flooding because the main water valve to my house had sprung a gushing leak. Water was seeping down behind the laundry room wall and under the floor tiles. Danny showed up very quickly and replaced the valve, which, because of the age and configuration of our plumbing, turned out to a complicated job. He was at our home for close to two hours, and the rate he charged was a very pleasant surprise - considerably lower than I've had to pay for simpler plumbing emergencies in the past. Danny was unfailingly polite, explained everything he was doing, and provided expert advice and referrals on how to fix the drywall and floor. I will use Danny and Cardinal for all my plumbing needs in the future. A true professional!

Where to start.....My project was a big one: Converting an electric-only house to gas. From start to finish it took EIGHT months because I had to work with Washington Gas, the subcontractor(NPL) and the gas plumbers (Cardinal). The Wash Gas to NPL part took the longest FYI. I started out by getting a quote from Cardinal. Eric Moore from Cardinal came out to my house and walked me through this extensive process. It was confusing and daunting , but he was extremely helpful and knowledgable, and walked me through it and gave me a good idea of what to expect. After a 6-7mos wait, I finally had a gas line in the house. The next step was for Cardinal to put in the interior piping for 2 HVAC units, gas stove, and gas fireplace. This part of the project happened very quickly . They came out on two separate days. The first day was a whole day event: 8-5. The second was even longer: 8am-9pm! These guys worked until 9am to make sure I had all my new heating units in because the next day was supposed to be cold and they didn't want me to be without heat. They were amazing.They think about EVERYTHING. Not only were their technicians (Ray, and his men. I wish I could name them all) proficient and immaculate, but their office liaison, in this case, Riley, was the best at keeping in touch and making sure I was taken care of and well-informed. I now have a gas heating in my house, a gas range, and gas fireplace(to be installed in a month) and I am loving it. I am so pleased with the work and customer service that Cardinal has provided and would recommend them to anybody. All I can say is that if they can handle a big project like mine flawlessly, imagine how they will take care or any other project. I fully intent to use Cardinal for all my heating and plumbing needs in the future. Highly recommend.
This company charges $49 to just get an estimate of plumbing work. The $49 is subtracted from the cost of the project. The receptionist's reasoning is that they're too busy. If you're a wise consumer and wish to shop around for a good plumber with good reviews before committing to one, contact ANY other company you find on Yelp.
Cesar came and checked out our broken thermostat for our heating and cooling system. The thermostat could not be used easily so he set it up to work until he could get a special replacement due to our having a 2 stage system.
He wore a mask, and covered his boots with shoe covers and was extremely courteous and helpful.
He followed up with a visit a couple of weeks later, once the new thermostat came in and then patiently showed us how it worked and made sure it was all working perfectly before leaving.
I would highly recommend Cardinal and especially, Cesar, who was super helpful and friendly.
While this seems like a very well run and professional company with a slick website, they possess some policies that are very bureaucratic and difficult to manage for average everyday customers. If you happen to be a renter, then I recommend not using this company. Any problem you call about will need to be handled by the owner, no matter how basic (e.g. clogged toilet, basic inspection).
They want to charge you $50 just to send someone out to do an estimate. If you don't use them, you are out $50. No thanks.
George was professional and did a great job fixing our plumbing.
Daniel was excellent and very experienced and took particular care that all problems (for which there were multiple symptoms) were properly diagnosed and addressed before he left. He replaced a leaking valve in the master bath sink but also checked the shower and found it needed some additional caulking and also cut a hole in the kitchen ceiling drywall to make sure there were no other sources of the leak. He was also very careful not to dirty my kitchen floor by spreading a drop cloth and catching any drywall cuttings in a bucket so they wouldn't drop on my floor. I can feel confident now that the leaks have been repaired properly before I hire the drywall/painting contractor to patch and paint the kitchen ceiling.
Chris did an excellent job diagnosing and resolving a long standing Plumbing challenge for us. He carefully listened to our description of the details, presented the various potential causes of the issue, and walked us through why the root cause he identified was the likely source of the problem. He then made rapid and convenient arrangements for a solution. Much appreciated Chris!
Cardinal plumbing came highly recommended by few people I know in the Area! I must say,they are the best company i have worked with ! We had Tommy Davis come out to Change the toilets, kitchen faucets,and doing a variety of other work, hvac cleaning etc, I can't say enough great things about him! He is punctual,does his job with incredible efficiency and time. Is super clean, my house was spotless when he left, no cleanup afterwards! He so fast & does an amazing job! If one has any questions they can ask him and he will recommend what any other things in the house that need to be repaired,fixed, gives an estimate, so helpful and honest! Ask for Tommy to come out to do the job for you! He's one of the best technicians

Initially, Cardinal Plumbing cancelled my scheduled service well into my appointment window. Although due to an emergency, I was surprised there was no back up technician. Disappointed and concerned that I would be cancelled on again, I didn't reschedule with the company. Later that evening Daniel, one of the co-owners of the company, reached out to apologize and ask if he could come do the work needed the next day. Despite my hesitation, I said yes...and I couldn't be happier that I did. Daniel arrived on time as promised. As an owner, he handled my concerns professionally and pleasantly. He did the work in no time. I'm so glad I gave them a chance to do the job because now I have a trusted, go-to plumber. I would and will use them again in the future.

Editing to say- I do NOT think misuse of a mask, not getting me any sort of numbers, and making my system malfunction as attention to details. This business has not reached out to me except in reviews to apologize or make the situation right.
We reached out to Cardinal for a total HVAC replacement quote. The initial phone call to set up the consultation was a good experience, but everything went downhill from there. They initially asked if we were comfortable having someone in our home during COVID. We said yes, thinking they would be like the other contractors we got quotes from (i.e. doing most of the talking outside, being inside 30 minutes max). They were inside our house for 1.5 hours, which really made us uncomfortable. The consult was provided by two people, which were very knowledgeable but we were also made uncomfortable by the fact that one of them wasn't wearing his mask correctly a few times. We have an infant in the house, so this was really upsetting. At the end of the consult, they wanted to come back to our house a different day to give us the numbers. We asked for a Zoom call instead (to limit our exposure), which we never got an invite for (so we can't even tell you how their prices are). To top it all off, in the middle of our daughter's virtual first birthday party, our A/C shut off! When we went down to look, it was because when they were looking at the filter location in our furnace, they pulled the filter out and did not insert the cover back correctly. This caused the fan portion to shut off. Needless to say we will not be using them for our HVAC replacement and consider it a bullet dodged.
--UPDATE--
Added a star for the follow up from the owner, who apologized for the handling of our service and offered to come out personally to look at the bathroom sink. We didn't end up taking him up on the offer as turns out the only problem with upstairs sink was a loose screw on the handle (and not the $200 replacement part recommended). All in all the owner handled the situation very well and cares about offering quality service, unfortunately we had an experience that didn't represent that and we were impressed with his response regarding that.
Very Expensive company never went with them after I got the estimates. They have great reviews and I'm sure they do good work but I guess people like over paying not me. All the companies I went with did a good job also a about half the price.
It was very easy to get an appointment to get and estimate and then a following appointment to get the mixers replaced in both my bathrooms.
George gave me estimates on both fixing the existing old mixer and replacing them. He recommended which company mixer I should go with. On the day of appointment he told me how much time it would take to complete the work and he did a fantastic job.

Technician was polite and arrived timely but did not understand my ductless minisplit system and offered no useful solution while pushing an expensive cleaning I didn't need. Another company came out and actually did something to get the system working.
I would not recommend Cardinal.
Awesome service! I was so impressed with my plumbing service today. He gave me estimates on his iPad prior to performing the services. He gave me the damaged parts after the repairs. He had me test out the repairs prior to payment. He was very efficient and polite. And to top it off...he charged me less than the estimate because it was less work than he thought! No need to look any further, I would highly recommend this small business.

Pretty sad reflection on customer service. Asked them to trouble-shoot a somewhat vexing plumbing related issue, the tech who came out (good guy) was inexperienced and said he couldn't figure out exactly what the problem was and would need to return with a senior/more experienced person to correctly diagnose the problem. Charged me the call-out fee. The problem then disappeared on its own - temporarily - so we shelved the 2nd appointment. When the exact same problem re-surfaced 2.5 months later I called them to come an have re-look, and they said they would do so but charge me the call out fee as a 'new customer' because their 30-day window had expired. I said it was the exact same issue that they were unable to diagnose on their first visit, for which I had paid, why would I pay them twice at the same rate? They elected to turn down my business than accommodate my request or even offer me a second visit discount of any kind. Super disappointed. I left them with the words, you're losing a good customer due to your own decisions and inflexibility, just know that.
Had our main sewer line back up raw sewage into our basement on Memorial Day (of course it happens on a holiday.) Called a few companies with no response or the response that they had no one available before I found Cardinal. Chris came out and ran about 130' of snake through our main line before he found the clog and the water started flowing freely. He then ran a camera through to ensure he got it all, and advised us on the potential cause and what we may want to watch out for in the future. He was incredibly professional and explained everything to us throughout the process. He even mopped up the floor when he was done. I felt the fee was more than reasonable for the service performed, especially on a holiday. I would not hesitate to call Cardinal for any future plumbing needs. A+
We did install ourself under sink plumbing system. It got leak. So, we called cardinal and technician came out. The technician did a little modification and tighten the connection where the leaks was. Today is 1 month and a year since he fixed for us. Yesterday, The connection disconnected and leaks the whole ceiling. I called the customer rep. After being on the call with her, she said she will have technician come out as guarantee work and we had apt book. However, I mentioned our last service was 1 month over a year. Then, she said she couldn't do as guarantee anymore. The whole time I was on the phone with the customer rep, it seems like they didn't know or have enough knowledge Even though she had our account on her screen. I felt cardinal plumbing is very unprofessional and not trying to help their customer. I would recommend a different company.

I understand covid-19 hit us all hard! It's been a rough time fir all- people are working remotely and may not have answers. But you would think 3 months is a long enough time to have some one reach out to help you get things sorted!!
I'v been a HVAC maintenance club member since Sept 2020. My initial service then led me to believe I was in good hands and paid in full for the year long subscription. Since then it's been troublesome getting a hold of anyone capable of answering questions! Way back in Sept I was told the UV light bulb I had on my air scrubber was fused and needed replacement. The technician servicing said it would cost close to $400. With the steep price tag, I choose to leave the replacement for Spring service time, and spring being allergy season for me, the timing would work out perfectly. The technician who came out in March 2021 for the spring check and tune up informed me that the bulb replacement was actually $150 and covered by cardinal. He checked that the bulb was in stock and could be replaced soon, but someone would call for scheduling an appointment for that.
After the tech left, all I heard was crickets from Cardinal. Calling in-numerous times all I was ever able to do was talk to customer service that is working remotely. They have standard scripted answers to all and everything. I'm not sure what is going on at that end. Do they not convey messages or do the messages that get conveyed fall on deaf ears? It took 3 months for someone to come out to replace a BULB. In the middle, sometime in May, I got a call saying your part is in stock and we will be contacting you to schedule an appointment!!! WTH
FINALLY after threatening to write a bad review, I was contacted to schedule a bulb replacement time. This was taken care of on June 4 2021. close to 3 MONTHS after I requested the order.
And to add fuel to the fire, the customer service rep who scheduled the appointment says I'm sorry for the delay blah blah blah, but we'd be willing to come out to have that taken care off for you. Seriously? You are willing to come out? Clearly a wrong choice of words, but the damage was done. I asked for bulb replacement along with cancellation of services along with a refund for the year's worth of care I had paid for.
This is not what I expected when I signed up - unhelpful, Inknowledgeable technicians and even worse customer care! The answer I got was that she'd talk to the accounting department and get back to me by the end of the week. It was a Thursday, so I asked if she meant tomorrow Friday? And she says ummm yeh the end of the week
The technician who came in this time was cordial and patiently heard my story. Apologised for the delay and said he would bring this up with his manager/boss. He also mentioned that in my service history he saw a bulb replacement appointment was set up for May 8th. By who!??? The person who left that strange message for me? No one contacted me to set it up, and neither did anyone show up according to the appointment.
He went off about how cardinal has hired a third party for customer service. They don't know much and give scripted answers about bringing it up with higher management etc etc. Anyways. He replaced the bulb, but he also damaged the attic door, which he said would be covered by them to fix. And you guessed it someone would call to schedule
Crickets!!!!
Neither have I heard anything in regard to service termination and refund, nor has anyone contacted me to fix the damaged door.
Cardinal plumbing heating and air! Full of lies. All they want is to somehow get in your house to service you initially and sell their yearly subscription. Then I guess their job is done. You'r on your own trying to get a decent soul to help you.
I wish I could give them a negative star as a review! Stay away.

This company is honestly full of wonderful people. They saved me a lot of grief sending someone out for a same-day call to investigate a busted hot water heater- a faster response time than any other company managed and a balm to my anxious soul that day. I highly recommend them for their professionalism and efficiency. They're very responsive, very quick, very friendly, and very good at what they do. I truly regret that their prices aren't a little more competitive, because it loses them business.

I really like this plumbing company. It is easy to deal with; appointments are efficiently made and then confirmed by email (in which they tell you the name of the plumber who will do the work).
Most recently they sent Logan to take care of a plumbing issue. After Logan identified and confirmed the work that needed to be done, he told us what the cost would be (which sounded pretty good to us) and then started working on the job. Unfortunately, the job was significantly more difficult than anticipated. Rather than taking about half an hour, the job took almost six hours. Nevertheless, the original estimate was honored, and Logan remained professional, courteous, and cheerful throughout the ordeal. Then, when he finished, Logan cleaned up the work area, leaving it cleaner than it had been when he began. He mentioned that he prides himself on always doing that.
They are very helpful and consultative. Had them for multiple services including duct cleaning and service of HVAC. Fixed issues and system working very well.
Had an annual service done today on HVAC and plumbing/hot water heater. Both technicians called 30 minutes ahead of arrival to let me know when they'd be there. Both were very professional and knowledgeable. In addition to servicing all units in the house, both gave me some great recommendations on improvements we could make. On the HVAC, we needed an inoperable float switch replaced on a unit in the attic, and the technician had the part on the truck, and was able to give me an accurate estimate prior to starting the work. He also noticed that our condensate line was routed in a way that could possibly cause issues during the heating season and rerouted it to reduce the chances it would clog. I've been very happy with Cardinal in the past, and today was no exception. Always great service. Highly recommend them.
We moved into a house with a 14 year old water heater. Cardinal was one of three estimates we were provided in a two-day period. Cardinal impressed us from the start. First, the customer service office is extremely pleasant. What surprised me most is the fact that Cardinal doesn't give a four hour window like the other major companies. We were given a specific time that the tech would show up for the estimate. Our assigned tech was Zack. He showed up on time, which is a big plus in my book (Marine vet here), and he was very thorough in explaining the issues with the old water heater, and why we should consider replacing it. Not once did Zack try to sell us on additional services, nor did he try to pressure us into a new water heater. He did point out additional issues with my old water heater setup that weren't up to state code, and noted that those items were important to include in a new install. The estimate Zack provided was both fair, transparent, and a little lower than other estimates we received. Though money talks, the customer service alone is why we decided to move forward with having Cardinal (Zack specifically) install a new water heater. Fast forward a week later -- Zack arrived on time for the install, accompanied by Greg. The install was quick and clean. I couldn't have asked for a better team!!! Zack and Cardinal exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to working with the team for all future plumbing needs.

Cardinal Plumbing has been my go to plumber for the past few years. After trying a few well-reviewed plumbers a few years ago, I landed on Cardinal and gave them a try. I've stuck with them and have recommended them to my family who also live nearby. If I recall correctly, I first got connected to Cardinal when they were just doing plumbing - this review is ONLY for their plumbing services because I've never tried their HVAC services.
Each of the plumbers that I've interacted with have been very good. They've addressed a number of issues over the years including a frozen water line in the kitchen that they were able to locate and fix, addressed a water leakage from the shower due to issues with the valve/knob, fixed a leaky bathtub faucet, and more recently, fixed a water shut-off valve leak by the toilet. While some of these fixes seem simple when described, it's my opinion that it's better to rely on the experience and expertise of professionals than trying to do things yourself, mess up, and create a bigger mess than before - I'd rather not take that chance with water!
I really haven't found much to complain about, but if I were to pick something, then I'd guess the cost might be a bit higher than what I'd like to see. But I keep in mind that I'm paying for their expert knowledge to address matters quickly before things get worse. Overall, I've found them to be competent, knowledgeable, and above all, professional.
I'll update my review should I have experiences that change my rating but at this time, they remain 5 stars and here's to hoping that this continues!
Quick and friendly. Cardinal provided a quality product and service in a short period of time. They provided me a list of options to replace my water heater and charged me a fair price. I was happy with their use of electronic communication (email) instead of doing old fashioned paper invoices. The folks on the phone were also very pleasant to deal with. I would spend my hard earned money at Cardinal Plumbing again in the future. Thanks guys!

I needed to have my very old kitchen faucet replaced. Being a weekend and them being overbooked, Cardinal was still able to get back and squeeze in an appointment and had the job very well done! Special shout-out to the technician Jose Ortiz who was very patient & kind in explaining each step on the whole process end to end.
I am the DIY type and have tackled faucet replacing before but our kitchen sink was a whole other job! I had all the parts and tools but a 30 year old rusted over screw was the last step. Shane came by and helped me out so much! He was so helpful and informative, he managed to get the old faucet off (not easy!) and install the new kitchen faucet I had purchased. I can't express enough how appreciative I am of his work today, thank you for letting me ask questions, watch because I wanted to learn and for being so efficient! THANK YOU! Mark was great! He explained everything and walked me through every step and issue and how to fix it. I received a 45 minute heads up to when he would arrive and he was very timely, while also thorough, in his work. I would definitely recommend him.

He was very polite, professional, knowledgeable, and quick to fix the problem. After the new valve was installed, George provided some tips and recommendations, which will help us mitigate potential plumbing related problems in the future. The next time we require plumbing assistance, we will definitely ask for George.
Called this morning and they had a Tech here this evening. Tech/Zack was both friendly and knowledgeable. Will most definitely use Cardinal again.

I would strongly NOT recommend Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air as they charged me over double what another plumber would have charged. During a heavy rainstorm we had water leaking into our basement so I called them and they sent out a plumber named Jesse. He arrived and said that the sump pump and the check valve for the sump pump were bad....both located in a closet in our basement.
He had an iPad type device with him and he showed me the prices on the iPad for a new sump pump and the check valve. He scrolled through the items pretty quickly and gave me a total of around $990 to replace both which came out to $677 for the sump pump and $312 for the check valve. He said don't charge an hourly rate like most plumbers do but that the labor to install the parts is built into the price.
He said that if I agree to purchase their one year service warranty for $179, he can take off 15% of the price of the two parts so that if he takes off the 15% ($148) and then adds the $179 back on then I really end up paying only $31 for the service contact. But all he did was jack up the price 15% and then says he is taking it off....all smoke and mirrors.
I had no idea about the cost to replace them and since this was an emergency and I needed something done quickly because water was leaking into our basement, I told him to go ahead and do it. So the total with the $179 warranty included came out to $1019 plus change.
He finished the job in about an hour and then pulled out his iPad again and had to scroll through numerous screens and I signed or initialed with my finger on the iPad in places where told me to. There was a lot of legal jargon that I really didn't have time to read so I just took Jesse's word on what I was agreeing to when I signed or initialed. It was very frustrating in signing on the iPad with the very tiny font that I couldn't even read.
When I was done signing, he left but did not give me a receipt or proof that the work was done since it was all on the iPad and said a copy of what I had just signed would be emailed to me the following day. I've never had a company doing work on our house not give me a written copy and I didn't feel comfortable with it. He left and I had no proof of what I had just signed.
The next day I did receive an emailed copy. I started looking over the prices and did an online search at one of the major home improvement stores and was floored by I found. The 1/3 horsepower sump pump that I paid $575 for sell for only $125. The check valve for the sump pump that I paid $265 for sells for only $25.
I understand that plumbers are going to charge more than what I would pay at a home improvement store but not mark-ups of $450 and $240 respectively. I felt I had been scammed big time so decided to call another plumber and tell them what I needed done and see what they would charge.
I randomly called one that had good ratings and he said that the total to install the two items including parts and labor would be around $400 broken down like this:
Sump pump - $230
Check valve - $50
Total labor - $ 114
So Cardinal Plumbing charged me over double of what another plumber would charge for exactly the same thing. I called and spoke with a manger at Cardinal and complained about the charges and asked for a partial refund but he flat out refused. He did agree to refund me the $179 for the service warranty since I told him I would never be using them again.
Would advise anyone needing plumbing work done to avoid Cardinal Plumbing or you may get ripped-off like I did. Always check a plumber's prices online before you agree to the work....don't make the mistake I did. Below is a photo of my receipt showing the charges with personal information cropped out. I found this place on Yelp, and based on the rave reviews, decided to give them a call. Our AC stopped working a few weeks ago. I called them on Friday, and got an appointment for Tuesday between 12-4. I was informed that there is a $69 fee to come in for evaluation.
One of the things that impressed me was the text/email communication they have. I got a text message when the technician was on his way. The text had the technician's name, his detailed information, and his tracking information. I knew exactly where he was and how far away. I got another text message when he arrived. I loved how they send you information about the technician, so you know exactly who to expect.
The technician, Alberto, was super professional, wore his mask throughout, wore shoe covers when he entered our house, and seemed very knowledgeable. He spent about 30 minutes and told us the potential problem. He gave us all possible options and the cost for each fix.
We all know that AC/Heat repairs are not cheap. To fix our AC compressor, he quoted us around $3k. There were some other repairs he suggested as well. We decided to get the repairs done and scheduled time 3 days later on Friday. Alberto showed up at 10 AM, spent the whole day fixing the AC, and left around 4:30 PM. He sent us pictures of all the repairs he had done. We were very pleased with him and the service provided.
Overall, very happy with this company and our technician Alberto.
Got the insides and valves of three toilets repaired in short order. Agreed to a reasonable price beforehand (and I might add it was based on a quote that was two months old - nice of them to honor it). Well under $1K altogether.
No surprises, no extra charges, came on time, pretty painless. The parts they install come with a pretty lengthy warranty too. It's been a few months now and toilets are still working great.
Normally I try to write a little more but I actually don't have much to say - in a good way!
We had an emergency on the weekend and Cardinal had Larry out within two hours to take care of the issue. Very responsive. Larry was knowledgeable and explained every step of the process while solving our problem. Great service.
We just moved and we bought a house from a couple of DIY idiots lol! Anyway, Carlos came out and found not one, but TWO leaks. Cool. He explained everything and was really fair in pricing. Ok fast forward 2 days later..leak on the bathroom floor again. Well, Carlos came out the next day and found another 2 leaks. Just further up the wall. It was hard to diagnose because it was in a guest shower that's barely ever used. Well he found that they used a piece of grocery plastic bag instead of teflon tape on one of the pipes. At this point, you have to laugh. Anyway, the point is that even though the previous owners were idiots, we are thankful we found a great plumber that found the issues very quickly and did NOT overcharge. Highly recommend!
So happy to have found Cardinal! I called for a busted water pipe in the wall...they came out the same day and had it fixed up for me. I was impressed with how nice and accommodating they were, and the fact that he showed up right on time. I'll be calling them to come fix another plumbing problem we have very soon.

Jessie was the greatest! Very professional and a very caring person and he was early. Tackled a difficult job with patience and efficiency. Worked with me for the most efficient and inexpensive way to complete the job of removing a rusty hose from a laundry faucet. Washer/dryer combo was delivered over an hour late than and Best Buy would not install because of the rusty hose. I was very upset. Called one plumbing company, but could only make an appoint for 2 days later. Called Cardinal Plumbing and they were able to accommodate me with and appointment the same day! Very courteous and professional and very happy with customer service and especially with one of their most valued employee: Jessie. I've read the other reviews and it appears all of their technicians are very professional, caring and efficient. Jessie turned an upsetting day into a happy day. I was able to start my laundry as soon as Jessie left. Thank you again for making my day!

Cardinal plumbing ( Mark) is the best DC area plumbing service we have used and we will use them again. Easy to schedule with 2 hr timeframe and a call at least 30 min in advance of arrival. On time, worked efficiently and was thorough - checked all faucets/ toilets/ water heater for any leaks & turned off outside faucets for winter; professional - Mark explained what needed to be done for preventive maintenance and tagged the main shut off valve and outside faucets and repaired a leaky water heater valve. No delay; no drama, just fixed it.
Kyle and Greg came out and fixed our main waste - they were extremely professional, thorough and fair. The other companies that we called wanted to do far more work and change much more, and they were so honest that they fixed our issues that needed to be fixed and didn't try to upsell us. Fantastic job!
Cardinal Plumbing worked us into their schedule quickly, and were upfront about all costs. They even reminded me about the $40 Yelp discount they were offering. Our plumber, David, explained everything clearly and talked me through the prices on an iPad, all of which were fair and among the best in the market based on many phone calls. David was extremely polite and professional, and I will definitely call Cardinal Plumbing again. This time, we changed out two sink faucets and replaced the shower fixtures. Had a leak in our master bathroom after only a month in our new house. I couldn't pinpoint the source and rather than risk significant water damage in the living room below, I called Cardinal Plumbing and they sent out Carlos on a Saturday morning. Carlos was quick, worked clean, found the problem and even recommended an economical contractor for drywall repair since Cardinal doesn't do sheet rock. Carlos was personable and made the repair seem less burdensome. Great reasonable price for the visit too. I have definitely found my go to plumbing company for the new property!

I've had Cardinal Plumbing come out for a couple jobs over the years, and they've always fixed the relevant issue; no concerns over quality. They came out twice during the era of COVID-19, (for separate issues) and they wore masks (the first one wore I believe a disposable mask, and the second one wore a neck gaiter mask) and disposable booties over their shoes. They put down a disposable mat over my outdoor welcome mat, which was nice.
I have noticed that in the last two visits, they recommended more than was necessary. In the first visit, I needed the toilet flapper replaced since the toilet was running in between uses. The plumber checked everything over and recommended a rebuild of the mechanism inside the toilet tank, saying the parts were all old and they should be replaced proactively. I asked how much the flapper replacement alone would cost, and we agreed to it. This fixed the issue, and I haven't had any toilet issues since that visit earlier this year.
In the second visit, I called because I was experiencing lukewarm water in my home. The plumber checked things out and told me my water heater was 10 years old and that a repair likely wouldn't work due to age and the fact it hadn't been maintained. He gave me estimates to replace the water heater, with and without the membership. He told me it was not the mixing valve since the water heater was throwing a code. It kind of sounded like a sales pitch. When I expressed slight concern and said I would like to get a couple other estimates and discuss with other members of my complex, he mentioned what to look out for when other plumbers quote lower prices, and I do appreciate the info he gave me.
I then called another reputable company in the area. The plumber from that company came in, looked over the setup, and was able to fix the issue that day by replacing the mixing valve. I was quite relieved to find I now had piping hot water again! He confirmed what my home inspector had, that the water heater was only 7 years old, and said that it was functioning normally. The charge to repair the mixing valve was nominal compared to the estimate to replace the water heater.
So all in all, I do recommend Cardinal's work; I just think it may be best to get a second estimate sometimes.

This was the 5th (yes 5th!) plumber we had come out to evaluate a severe main drain blockage. The technician, Kyle, arrived on time and with the proper equipment. His appearance was neat, clean, and professional. He was able to quickly identify the issue and show us exactly where the problem was. He even caught a nasty ball of roots left behind from a previous plumber that would have manifested into another problem. He was able to provide two options and estimates. He provided a video of the inside of our drain and a detailed diagnostic summary to provide to our insurance company. Hands down best experience and will be our go to for any future issues.
What started as a need for an immediate fix turned into a long term relationship with Cardinal Plumbing. Our first call was due to a leaky kitchen sink pipe that occurred out of nowhere. Cardinal was called the next day and they were able to squeeze us in without an extra charge. They sent Mark as our technician. He diagnosed the problem and immediately fixed it. He was so precise and professional, that we requested him to be our permanent tech. In less than a year, we've had Mark out to our home to flush the hot water tank and perform regular maintenance checks on our toilets, install a water line to the garage, hook up a sink and hot water tank and plumbing in our renovated garage, and replace valves under the kitchen sink whilst installing our new dishwasher. Mark is so good that we also made him the tech for our HOA pool house. He's been to the pool house to flush pipes and replace old rusty concrete filled pipes. We appreciate Cardinal's method of scheduling with the email and texting reminders and updates.

We then schedule for an estimate for replace he came out told us what we could do said he would email the estimate. 4 months later no email. Waisted 80$ for a run around scam.

I've used Cardinal Plumbing twice now, first for a clogged kitchen sink and second for a leaky hose bib outside. Both were positive experiences. I wish I could remember the name of the technicians that helped with my first call. The first technician on the scene worked on my sink for about 2 hours, and eventually had to call in a second guy who had some different tools on his truck. In all, they spent probably 3 hours working to get the sink unclogged and gave me some tips on how to keep the pipes clean and prevent it from happening again. Earlier this week, I called Cardinal to see if someone could come look at my leaking hose bib, as I was pretty sure the pipe had burst over the winter. Nick was able to come out the next day and replaced it with a new frost-proof bib very quickly. He also provided some great preventative info on winterizing the outdoor faucets.

I had a great experience with Cardinal plumbing this past week! Danny is prompt, punctual, and professional. Quick turnaround: From the day I talked to him on the phone, I was able to get a next-day estimate at my house and was even able to get an appointment to have the job done by that weekend. Danny knows what hes doing and was very helpful in explaining everything about what he would be doing to me, talking me through the job in advance, and in approaching the plumbing problem I had the best way possible to ensure I will not have the same issues later on. He taught me how to drain my pipe properly to avoid another pipe burst and advised me on some other plumbing in the house as well. He also honored an Angie's list discount for me. I feel very confident in recommending this business to others.
Love the superior customer service Cardinal provides. As well, their protocols for COVID and always showing up with a mask. I want to give a special shout out to Willie, an excellent technician. He replaced my toilet in late December and last week I heard ghost flushing coming from the toilet. I called Cardinal and Willie came the same day to check it out. We did a little test to be sure it was the flapper and it did confirm a defective flapper. Willie replaced the flapper and did a check of the toilet to be sure it was all working. Even tightened up the toilet seat! I cannot say enough about Cardinal and the care they provide their customers. I highly recommend you give them a call when you need plumbing services. Kyle resolved a problem that several prior plumbers had overlooked, and we have a functional bath drain for the first time since renovating the bathroom several years ago. He was always on time, friendly and cheerful, knowledgeable and professional, enthusiastic about his employer. He took and provided us with excellent notes and photos. The email notice of the service appointment included his photo, so we knew whom to expect at the door. Altogether a first class experience. We plan to use the firm again.
Today Chris Richard from cardinal Plumbing came to my home with tools in hand and an apology for the incident last night. He expertly fixed my toilet and made sure no parts were leaking at no charge. It's rare when a company owns up to a mistake and makes things right. These people did and gave me an apology that had contrition. Chris is and was awesome and I now have piece of mind knowing that the toilet is functioning perfectly. Again thank you to Chris. Will I reach out again, without question....
Tony was great relocating our shower drain, placing the shower base, and moving the tub valve to shower height! Fast and efficient. He offered lots of great tips and had a way out for any twist and turn that came up. Cardinal had a much more reasonable price point than another quote we had. Thank you guys. We have had consistently excellent service provided by Cardinal Plumbing. Over the past 3 years Cardinal has been extremely responsive and able to send someone usually within 24 hours of our call (never had an emergency). Their plumbers are personable, highly trained, clearly communicate issues, work cleanly and are very honest in terms of identifying problems and in their pricing. Daniel & Michael in particular are stand-outs. We recommend them without reservations.
I am SO impressed with Cardinal! In an area where it is often impossible to get service people, Cardinal is outstanding. My interactions with them, from start to finish are completely positive. Had set up an appointment and they called 15 mins into the time window they gave me. Nobody on the line and so I called back and they said they left a VM about having to reschedule due to another job. There was no voicemail. They had no other plumbers available. I guess I'll have to find a more reliable company.
I've used Cardinal Plumbing at least 3 times and will continue to use this company. This will be my go-to plumber as I appreciate the professional abilities and courtesy of the office schedulers and plumbers who I've worked with.

We had the hot water shut off valve under our kitchen sink leaking and Daniel replaced it.
Very satisfied and would highly recommend Daniel and Cardinal plumbing.
They can explain everything for furnace. And, my 20-year old heater is working now safely. I will get a quote for the new one IF i want to buy. So far so good.
They were responsive to a holiday weekend call and came to the house promptly. Carlos explained everything to me clearly and he did a great job with our finicky faucets. I would definitely use them again.

I had two plumbers come and try to figure out where this mystery leak between the first and second floors was coming from. No one could figure it out. One of them said it had to be the HVAC pipes. The HVAC Tech came and said it wasn't and maybe it was the roof. I had gotten my roof replaced, so I had the company check, and everything seemed fine.
After the ceiling start bulging, I called Cardinal Plumbing. Hugo came by. He said he had to cut a hole to see where the water was coming from. He checked the tub and toilet of the upstairs bathroom (the first plumber said that wasn't the issue, and the second said it was the tub). After checking, Hugo said it seems to be a pipe behind the shower. We realized that it was accessible from my closet. When we went into the closet and looked behind the closet door, there was black mold in the bottom of the wall. He cut a hole, and one of the pipes had a leak. Finally, after months of trying to figure out what was going on, the leak was fixed!
I was so happy because it was months of stress. He even referred me to a company that could get rid of the black mold.
I have found my new plumbing company.

Ten gold star service! Truly outstanding experience. Customer service was prompt and attentive in getting a plumber to the house, the very next day! I requested Chris, since he has done other work for us and did an excellent job. As before, Chris was professional, pleasant, and very patient in answering questions. Just had a Direct Vent Water Heater, (heats the house also through a heat exchanger), installed. Install was done by Nick Kiser. We are pleased with the work done and will recommend Cardinal Plumbing to anyone. If we need any future work to be done, we will call Cardinal.
We had an emergency and had to turn our water off on Friday afternoon. Cardinal sent someone within 2 hrs and resolved our issue very quickly! Shawn helped us and he was friendly, professional and efficient!

I found Cardinal on Angie's list - purchased a deal on Thanksgiving day and requested expedited scheduling - and received a call back on Sunday to schedule my job! Danny was very honest about the work needed - switching out the valve to the toilet and quoted a very fair price. In fact, I had him switch out the valves for the 2 other toilets in the home. I appreciated the detailed explanation he provided for all the work he was doing and would highly recommend the company to anyone for their plumbing needs!

I called Cardinal based on their high Google reviews and their quick availability. I had a technician who came out today, who was great and my score is not based on him! I needed the TP valve replaced on my 60 gal hot water heater and I didn't have the time to do it myself. I called Cardinal and they explained that it would be a $79 diagnostic fee + repair service. I thought this was odd as I already knew what the problem was and the diagnostic fee was separate and in addition to the repair cost. Pressed for time, I agreed. The technician came out and said there were 2 options, replace the TP valve or entire water heater. Quoted me $705 (!!!) for the valve or $3750(!!!!) for the water heater. I opted for the valve replacement. It took him about an hour to drain the heater some and replace the valve. What should have been a $200-$250 job was over $700. I understand markups, but a nearly 4x markup is criminal. Also, for awareness, it should be about $1500 to replace a water heater (they cost about $600) + labor. Will never be calling Cardinal and won't recommend them to any friends/family.
*Only reason it's not a 1 star is because the technician was wonderful and quick.
If you want to spend 3-4x what you should, then go with Cardinal; otherwise, shop around (or YouTube the fix!).
My hot water heater check valve crapped out on me. Gave this company a call and they had someone come out within an hour. Daniel was the tech and was very nice and professional. He showed me the parts he replaced and let me know the costs ahead of time. I will do business with them in the future!
I had a great experience with them. The price was reasonable, and the service was scheduled promptly. Our tech Nikolai was very professional and did very good work. I highly recommend them.

This is the 3rd or 4th time that I used Cardinal Plumbing. As usual they were prompt and efficient. I had a clogged sink that wouldn't drain. Of course this happened during a snow storm, so it took a day for them to get here, which was perfectly understandable. Unfortunately I don't remember the technicians name. He was very knowledgeable and understanding. Please Cardinal, look my service call up and give him the appropriate props for the service provided on January 15, 2019. I highly recommend Cardinal and will use them again.

Excellent service! Tony from Cardinal Plumbing arrived right on time and knocked out a combination of leaky drains and faucets in less than an hour. He also helped me diagnose some caulking issues around a bathtub. Super polite, very reasonably priced, quick, and effective. I almost wish I had more plumbing problems for them to fix!
I only have wonderful things to say about Cardinal Plumbing (specifically Tommy and Tom). They called 1/2 hour before arriving, worked quickly and efficiently, cleaned up after themselves and were able to figure out the source of the problem in a short amount of time. I highly recommend this crew!
Quick, professional, and the plumber on-site went above and beyond to help. Mark K. was here on 9 Sept to fix a 'rattling water pipe' issue in the basement, and ended-up helping me to get a substantial refund from Loudoun Water. In addition to fixing the original problem (pressure valve), he found a leak in the water company's pipes outside and explained it to me in such a way that when I relayed the information to the water company, there was no runaround, immediate replacement of the meter at the street, and a substantial refund (zero'd out my quarterly bill!). He was also kind to our pets, asked me to inspect the work, answered my questions in clear/layman's terms, treated me with respect, and cleaned the work area without me asking. I will use Cardinal Plumbing again, and recommend them to friends & neighbors.
Amazing ....came by look at my plumbing .spent an hour testing and inspecting. I really appreciate the effort to resolve issue. I rarely do kind reviews but this company deserves it .. thank Nikolai.

We had a bathroom shower handle break in the middle of the night, our only option was to shut off the main water line. I called Cardinal after reading so many positive reviews on their timeliness and level of customer service.
They did not disappoint! from the scheduling representative on the phone, working in tandem with our landlord, regular updates via text, and Shawn's expertise and customer service upon arrival made the entire process completely STRESS FREE. Thank you to the entire Cardinal Team- while you all are fantastic, I do hope our paths don't require crossing again. =)
Awesome service. They diagnosed the problem for what it was. Gas furnace wasn't working, and they figured out the problem. I got a good price and the service was expedient.

I called Cardinal at 10 am and Scheduled a technician to come unclog a kitchen sink. They were able to schedule a visit the same day between 4 and 6 pm. The technician, Diego, called beforehand to let me know when he would arrive. He was on time, courteous, and very knowledgeable. It was a messy eggshell and grease clog but Diego cleaned everything up better than it was before he got here. I would definitely recommend Cardinal to others. The cost for the work was very reasonable.
Cardinal is the best....THE BEST!!! We had Barry Baker come out to our home and he explained everything to me twice!!! He was so thorough and professional and made me feel so taken care of that I signed up for the routine maintenance package on the spot knowing he will be the one to keep coming out! He was able to fix my ac and it's running great ever since! Thank you Barry!!!! You were a money life saver!!!!!!
Shane came out to repair a leaking gas line and was honest and fair with what needed to be done (and what didn't). Another company wanted to charge us 4 times as much to replace the entire line when it wasn't necessary. Shane worked to get us quickly on his calendar, worked hard in 100 degree heat index weather, and followed up to make sure Washington Gas came out to inspect the work and turn our gas back on. A fantastic professional who really represented Cardinal in the best possible way.
This is only a review of Cardinal's use of the Yelp quote system. I am giving them a middle of the road review because while they did get in touch with me quickly....it was to say that I should give them a call.
When I did call, they were able to take my info and pair it up with my Yelp inquiry...but even with pictures it still just lead to, We can send someone out to look at your situation
I can appreciate that not everything can be troubleshot via online & pictures...but when other providers were able to do so...it puts a firm like Cardinal a bit behind their peers.
Last night I noticed some water underneath my kitchen sink. Bright and early this morning, I reviewed my options online and found Cardinal to have a bunch of good reviews, so decided to give them a try. I called and within just a couple of hours, they were here repairing the leak. The technician they sent was Nick K. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and very pleasant, and a bonus is he loves dogs, which was great because mine thought that Nick was here just for him.
Nick explained exactly what the problem was, showed me, and told me a couple of options for repairing. He made the repair quickly and tested it to ensure all was well.
I felt that what they charged was very fair and reasonable.
I definitely will call them again for any plumbing projects or repairs.
10/31- I wanted to update this review. I have received multiple emails from the business owner asking me to write reviews after I already submitted this one. They offered an Amazon voucher for a review, but I never received one. Not real happy about this, it's not the amount of the voucher but rather the way this was done. Multiple replies to their emails requesting reviews where I pointed out I did write a review have not been acknowledged. I am removing one star for this. I have no issue at all with the technician who did a great job.
I have an older system that happened to crash on the coldest night. Tom from Cardinal came out the next day as requested. He was able to get my heat pump back up and running, chasing down a problem I didn't know I had, especially since I recently moved into the home.
Cardinal, and especially Tom, will work with you to get the job done. Very courteous and professional staff. From office, and Tom's partner, Barry. Can't say enough about dealing with good people.
I called about my clogged toilet, This thing had been slow and getting worse. I had a tech from another company come out about it a few years ago and they did not consider it to be bad- but we regularly had issues. Now it was badly clogged.
It was easy to make an appointment with Cardinal and I like that they give a 2 hour window (not 4) plus call when they are en route. The tech was friendly (Daniel) and gave me his analysis of the techniques that might be needed to clear my clogged toilet. The first thing he tried was successful and the toilet has never worked better. You know how you break a sweat when the dirty water starts to rise - no more! They did a great job.
