Ahoy Plumbing

I had them come out and replace some piping and a faucet. They did a wonderful job. They were responsive, punctual and very skilled. I'd hire Ahoy plumbing again in a heartbeat.

I had a hot water heater that stopped working.  The company came to assess the problem and quickly realized it was a high temperature safety shut off. He hit the reset button and we checked to see if it tripped again.  And it didn't.  He also went through a cost estimate if had been the heater elements and/or thermostat.  Another company had come by before Ahoy and provided estimates to both replace and repair water heater.  Even after I asked the first company don't you want to remove the access panel and at least check the power to the elements, he responded I dont need to and I can hear there is power there and I don't want to waste your or my time.  So the first guy left recommending a big repair.  But Ahoy was already scheduled so when they came he immediately fixed it.  And his repair estimate was more reasonable than the the other company. Ahoy didn't even charge for the repair because he came for an estimate and FIXED the problem during evaluation.  Ahoy is a small company and it was the owner who did the service call.  He was extremely knowledgeable and with a great attitude.  I absolutely will use him again and would much rather use his company that one of these huge companies that have tons of overhead to pay for their owners who definitely are not wielding any wrenches.

George is great!! He was super responsive and got to my house in a timely manner. Quickly diagnosed the issue, explained what he had to do, and fixed the problem. Totally saved the day and would definitely use him again!

George is someone I highly recommend. He fixed our problem and came back a/c another problem and advises us to get our septic cleaned.

He called later to make sure that we were not having problems. When is the last time plumber called to make sure everything was good to go.

He provided a recommendation to help alleviate the issue we were having and it was something small that we could do ourselves. Excellent experience. George was great to work with for swapping out 3 old toilets with 3 newer models. He is responsive, professional, and courteous. Bonus--no plumber's crack! Just kidding.

I appreciate his customer service in doing a job well done and cleaning up after himself. I did have a minor issue with one of the toilets (not his fault) after the toilet swap, and George fit me into his schedule ASAP to address it with no if's and's or but's!

George -who owns Ahoy-  responded immediately to a general Yelp quote request- well before anyone else. We set an appointment for less than 24 hrs later, then he called around Noon saying he could move up my appointment from 3 to 1.

He arrived on time with mask and shoe covers. He then PATIENTLY cooperated in completing an exceptionally detailed and frustrating online questionnaire- to  obtain authorization from my home warranty company. Although that authorization process required about 45 minutes, he nevertheless persisted. His effort enabled me to expect reimbursement of all but my $60 copay of his total charges...which did not include any of the time he spent on the authorization process!!

Although I had specifically requested a quote from Heidler, they  responded well after after AHOY and stated their techs were not permitted  to make any contact on my behalf w/any home warranty company.

George is personable and easygoing, but he works quickly, effectively and professionally. He is a Master Plumber and it is obvious.  I told him when he was leaving that AHOY will be the FIRST plumbing company I call for any future needs- and I fully intend to do so! I'm not sure I've ever felt  more confident in a worker while also being  in such a good mood AFTER paying!

Had an issue with my water heater. George immediately responded and set up an appointment the next day. He was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this company!

We were fortunate to find Ahoy and George was amazing.  We had a stoppage for the outside drain and we called Ahoy to come service and he came out to give a free estimate but his price was reasonable so we asked gone to do it. The stoppage was clear but unfortunately the design of the French pit that we had was slow drain and cause more flooding into our basement but not as much as before. We called Ahoy again  and he recommended installing a sump pump and again his price was reasonable. We haven't had flooding since. Then we had another plumbing issue with a leak from a bathroom. He diagnosed it thoroughly and identified the issues as a leaky roof and poor grouting on the floor.

We had called George three times and all three occasions have been amazing.

I used ahoy pluming two more times for my rental properties and was very happy with George , the owner . He showed up on time and did great work . He is professional and has good prices . He explains his work after he is done and is a nice guy to deal with , you won't go wrong .

Company owner came out the same day for a free estimate and started the work the next day. Replaced two hose bibs which turned out to be more complicated than anticipated due to the way the builder had installed them and also replaced a leaking pipe in our bathroom. All three jobs were completed neatly and with high quality materials. We are very pleased with the work.

Recently had some plumbing work done due to a septic backup emergency.  The company called in to do the work replaced both the underground septic, and main water feed to the house (not sure why they replaced both, I believe they may have hit the pressurized line when digging down to the septic blockage).  After this initial work was done, the normally great water pressure in the house had been reduced down to the inability to use more than one appliance at a time.  We were unable to use the sink to wash our hands as the toilet tank refilled after flushing for example.  After presenting my issue to the initial company and still being left high and dry, I decided to seek help from a better source.  
I called AHOY, and was connected with the owner, George,  and he was able to quickly schedule me for a free estimate the following day.  He then came to my home, and I was able to give him all of the information he needed, as he examined the mess left by the previous plumbing company.  George then suggested we run a few simple tests before starting work that could possibly be much more expensive, and possibly much more intrusive.  George's suggestion quite possibly saved us thousands of dollars when one of the tests spotted a fitting that was not put on properly.  The improper installation of a 90° fitting was restricting a large part of the main water flow into the house!   Not spotting this could have resulted in thousands of dollars in unnecessary work, and who knows how much wasted time.  George and his apprentice were fast, extremely knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.  If you need any plumbing work done, especially the more involved or difficult jobs that require the knowledge of a master plumber, I highly recommend George and AHOY Plumbing.

Exceptional service! Called  Ahoy Plumbing for a broken water heater at 10 am had hot water by the end of the workday. George was prompt, professional, efficient, communicative, very reasonably priced and good humored to boot! Unreservedly recommend this company!

We had an area of water damage on our basement ceiling. We removed the drywall but couldn't figure out what was going on. Ahoy plumbing came out the very next day and spent over an hour trying to diagnose the problem. He was not able to figure out where the leak was coming from (possibly an old leak). He did not charge for his time, which was much appreciated and highly unusual! I will definitely call on Ahoy plumbing in the future for our plumbing needs.

He installed the toilet and sink in my powder room. The pricing was fair, and he was pleasant. He was knowledgeable about his craft. It's always nice to learn something new.

I heard some rumbling in my pipes and messaged a few businesses and Ahoy Plumbing was the first to respond. He came out the same day and made an assessment and told us what we needed to do. We decided to replace our water heater and he never charged us more than what he quoted us. I felt we were getting a fair assessment and he wasn't trying to make us replace things unnecessarily. I appreciated how kind and efficient he was. I would recommend him to anyone in the local area.

If you need your plumbing fixed it's expensive. I always look on Yelp for honest reviews. My 35 year old condo needed 2 shower controls fixed and the guts of 2 toilet tanks replaced. The estimate was free, he arrived with all materials and the work was done in 3 hours. He and his apprentice wore booties and were neat and professional. Well worth the money.

George is the man, he'll get what you need done in a timely manner. Highly recommend for any plumbing needs.

It was great to work with George from Ahoy Plumbing. He responded quickly and was able to fix (replace) our sump pump the next day, saving us from another flooded basement that evening. He confidently answered all questions and got the work done without issues. We received warranty issue for the sump and a thorough description of everything that was done. Nice electronic payment/invoice system.

George responded to my inquiry promptly and showed up just a day or two later. He was sitting outside in his truck maybe 10 mins prior to our appointment at 10:00 am, rang our doorbell at 10:00 am on the dot. He was was professional, kind, well prepared and full of information.

The visit was complimentary but he did need to do some light work for which he charge us a fair and reasonable price.

Ahoy Plumbing did a fabulous job on two projects. I couldn't be happier. I'll be using them for my plumbing needs going forward.

Our toilet was clogged past the point that we could deal with, and our garbage disposal wasn't turning on at all. While on the phone with George to schedule the appointment, he asked questions to diagnose the toilet and disposal, and was able to mostly fix the disposal over the phone by telling me what to do. The next day, he was on time and finished fixing the disposal the rest of the way. There was a screw stuck in it, and he didn't charge for that part of the fix because of how simple it was and how little time it took. The toilet he and his apprentice fixed without much trouble, and he charged a very fair price. I will definitely be using them for plumbing needs going forward, and would recommend them to anyone who asked.
