Established in 1989.
Everett Bowman started this company in 1989 as a small plumbing company. The company flourished over the years and grew in both size and specialty, expanding to HVAC, Electrical, and Sheet metal. With the passing of Everett, his 2 sons, Michael and Steven, took over the HVAC & Electrical side of the company, and his daughter, Dana, took over the plumbing. The company is currently family owned and operated by the Bowmans and strives to keep their father's same principals of great customer service and quality of work.

Bowman's Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, & Electrical Inc. was started in 1989, by Everett Bowman. It was his goal then and our goal now to provide all of our clients with services marked by quality, dependability and value. Everett strove to give every client his personal attention because he valued your business. Almost 30 years later; Bowman's still does business with the very same principles our father lived by: personal attention, quality, trust, and respect. We are family owned and operated still.

I used Bowman's for a gas line repair. They were fantastic. Their service people were competent, friendly, and on-time. They fixed a problem that my own HVAC provider couldn't (or wouldn't) do. Their price was low and it successfully passed two inspections. One other great thing was that their front office staff always knew exactly what was going on so I didn't need to explain it every time. This is a great local business.

Classic nightmare plumbing contractor experience. Unexpected because we'd used them a couple of years ago for quite a bit of plumbing work & had great experiences. Last fall, when we decided to remodel our bathrooms, we counted on our past experiences with them more than the current negative Angie's List & Yelp plumbing reviews. That was a big mistake.  

Day 1 - 2 plumbers arrive 2 hours late but worked steadily on the first bathroom to install the tub, piping, & durock walls. Several issues but the primary - the piping didn't line up with one another by inches & the tub leaked! They couldn't make repairs immediately due to other scheduled jobs - Huh? They had a 50% deposit for both bathrooms, so we wanted to be patient. After a couple of weeks, one plumber, 2 hours late. He stripped out the durock, the tub & the piping to start again - leaving the house a couple of times. After 3-4 hours, he told us he couldn't stay to finish & bailed in a huff when my husband went up to find out why. The work he had 'done' was horrible.  

Then the true nightmare began - trying to get our money back. Despite pictures and our request for management to come & review the work done (they refused) Dana & her brothers (voices in the background) felt the work to date was quality work & only a nominal refund was due from the 2 bathroom deposit we'd placed with them. The Bowmans acknowledged that there was no piping in place, no installed tub, no walls, no tile work, no work begun on the 2nd bathroom & no other plumbers on staff. Just 1 plumber (who started mid 2013) & 1 plumber's assistant. These guys were in over their head with this job.

Finally, Dana offers to call in a sub-contractor to handle our 2 bathroom contract with Bowman's - we'd 'begin fresh'. Again, we're trying to be reasonable - we agree. He comes out - on time. He's horrified by the evidence left by the Bowman's plumbers & talks to us about what's needed. We gave him a copy of the Bowman quote for the 2 bathrooms - feel pretty positive about him (& start our research on his company).

Two days later & unexpectedly, we receive a full refund check and a note to work directly with the sub-contractor. He in turn advises us the one bathroom will cost 50% maybe more than the Bowman's contract & he doesn't really like written quotes....

Customer service on the plumbing side- not great at all. Spoke with the owner/Dana...was very rude, aggressive, and had an attitude. The plumbers on the other hand are spectacular and always do a good job. Customer service on the hvac side- great. Spoke with a lady I believe her name was Kristen...very polite, sweet, and professional. The HVAC technician who came to my house was awesome. Very knowledgeable, and got my ac taken care of.  Overall I rate 3 stars for the great technicians, plumbers, and customer service from the hvac dept. 2 stars knocked off due to plumbing customer service. Great company though, I always reccomend to my friends and family!

Bowman's did all the work to convert my home from oil to natural gas including  removing my old furnace an installing a new carrier gas furnace and humidifier.  They also installed my gas fireplace set and gas range and later I will have them install a gas water heater.

Honestly, it was a pleasure  to deal with this company.  My wife and I looked at many of the companies that Washington Gas lists and these guys were the  most helpful.
Dean Stine, the sales manager, took his time with us and explained the process for converting to natural gas. He was always responsive to my phone calls and I always  had the feeling that they would do a good job. THEY DID A GREAT JOB!

The price was very competitive and Dan and his crew were dependable, skilled, friendly and efficient and took time to answer my  many questions.  They were careful to put down drop cloths and kept our house clean.  The staff was considerate and friendly.  

Do yourself a favor and call these guys.  You will not be sorry.

Bowman's replaced my HVAC system and water heater.  It was a big job since we were replacing a large water heater with a tank less system, and replacing a single-zone gas HVAC system with a state-of-the-art, two-zone HVAC system, and because I asked for some plumbing and ductwork enhancements.

PRICE. Bowman's price was in the middle 3 quotes. I chose them because the sales process was very informative, honest, and no pressure, and because I felt they had the most experience to do the job right.

FREE STUFF.  My AC was down, and each company needed 7 days to install the new system.  Oh the heat!  But, Bowman's loaned me $1k in parts to keep my old AC running until the installation day, and they did not charge me a dime for the parts or labor.  That impressed me.

TEAMS of EXPERTS. Two contractors said that this was a 2 or 3 person installation.  But Bowman said they needed 3 teams: a ductwork team, a plumbing team, and an HVAC system team.  Eight guys in all.  They worked their butts off.  They were very kind to me, and they treated each other like brothers. Obviously someone up top knows how to pick good workers.

EXCELLENT SUPPORT. Bowman's support's their stuff.  I have called them back 3 times for problems.  Once to insulate an electronic damper to silence a noise - no charge.  Once to determine why there was water on the floor (My basement drain was clogged and this was not their fault) - no charge.  Once to remind me how to use the new two-zone system - No charge.

In summary, Bowman's did an outstanding job, and I would especially like to thank Westin for his honesty, congeniality and fanatic support.

The repairmen are awesome. They came to my house the same day. Were not afraid of my dogs, were respectful of keeping my house clean. So not only was I happy with the service but also the respect they showed me.

they replaced our ac and did a good job but the heater stopped working. I noticed the heater only after a month they replaced our AC. when I call them for an appointment, they don't show up during the 4 hour window they gave and the lady at the front desk was very sarcastic and says she does not ride with the contractors so she doesn't have any update.

something changed and the lady at the front desk is really bad and she should be not be in that line of work if she cannot handle couple of phone calls...

A friend referred them to me in 2004, when I needed a new unit. Their price was great, the service was great... And, I've been using them ever since - except for the time my son pulled in a different plumber, because I was sick. My Plumber cost 2 times as much (after the guy cut you a break out of his commission).

I hired Bowman's to install a smart dimmer switch. The electrician, Antonio, was able to be at my home within an hour of my calling. He knew immediately how to proceed and he had the switch correctly installed within a few minutes. I'll call Bowman's again for future electrical needs.

I work for competing HVAC company. I do not know how good they are at HVAC.  I have to say Bowman's had their trucks out plowing snow and they took great care of the roads.  Their team was fantastic.  I have lived on West Redwood Rd in Sterling 14 years and I have never seen anyone plow our street so well.  I really appreciate what wonderful job they did.

I have never had a bad experience, Jeff is my tech who come's out twice a year to check my HVAC system (per the contract I purchase every year) we have had one full furnace & 2 AC units replaced with them. This year we had our hot water heater replaced and tomorrow will have 2 toilets replaced. I can't speak highly enough about all of there employees, they are all professional and have never felt pressured to purchase the most expensive item. They do an a Awesome job, with full transparency.

We just had our entire HVAC system (furnace, AC Unit, and Evaporator coil) replaced by Bowmans.  From initial contact to the very end, I had a wonderful experience.  Mike answered all of my questions, provided his professional opinion and experience of available additions that could benefit our home.  On his recommendation, we added an air scrubber to improve the air quality in our 1972 home and also had all of our vents cleaned.  Dan and Aaron arrived in the promised time window and worked thoroughly throughout the entire day.  I had asked for isolators to be installed under my furnace due to tile flooring being installed in the near future which Dan happily accommodated my request. All 3 men were beyond helpful, courteous and friendly.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bowmans.

These guys are pros, hands down.   Garrett & David installed a Aprilaire steam humidifier after they cleaned all the vent work in the house. They're work was super clean, they were respectful, and best of all they were efficient with my time.  I would highly recommend Bowman's to any of my friends or family.

These guys were great to work with.  We had a heating and A/C system replaced last week. The guys who came out to install showed up on time and finished an hour early.  They couldn't be nicer.  I even had to reschedule this appointment once and they were very cool about it.  Didn't give me a hard time.

This company is top notch and is like a one-stop-shop!  His electrician was very friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy.  The tech explained everything to me and gave me all my options first.  After that, he fixed everything I had on my list, in a really timely fashion.   While that was being done the other technician showed up to clean and service my AC unit.  He was also super nice and fast!  I was able to go back to work by lunch time.  I'm moving away from the area and I wish I could take this company with me down to my new house.

We called Bowman's to check our 8 year old AC unit that stopped cooling Wednesday.  Another company was here yesterday and said we needed a new unit.  Within minutes their technician, Wes, identified the problem and was able to fix the problem during the same visit.  We were ecstatic we didn't have to spend thousand.  Appreciate the honesty from Wes and would highly recommend.

The replaced a refrigerator line on our fridge in April 2013 with copper for $435.  The connection the plumber made from the copper line to the fridge line failed 10 months later.  The plumber told me to have an appliance repair person fix it because he couldn't.  The water leak from the fridge resulted in $635 in damage to our carpets.  $1,000 to fix this problem and now I have to call an appliance technician.  He should have advised that in the first place.  The manager, Dana Bowman said it was outside the 30 day warranty, so tough luck.

If you expect your work from your plumber to last more than 30 days, call another plumber.

Very responsive and detailed oriented team. This team was able to replace my entire HVAC unit within a reasonable amount of time. The team is very responsive with any email inquiries you have. They even came by my home to follow up on a minor issue I had and resolved in no time. I would highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs. Give them a follow... you will not be disappointed.

Never again, and it's too bad: Every plumber and HVAC tech who's come to my home has been knowledgeable and courteous. Then came  Mike, to repair a pinhole leak in one of the copper pipes. While you're at it, I asked, can you take a look at the commode in the basement? It's running on. He did that; said it need a new flapper; and got one from his truck. It took Mike maybe ten minutes from start to finish. The cost: $125. I called to complain, noting that I had had the company out about two weeks before to solve a clogged pipe problem ($1500). The pinhole leak problem was another $375. But $125 for a $10 (if that) flapper that took moments to install. After Mike left, I called Bowman to complain. A few days later (I had to call twice) a female representative called. I told her it seemed crazy to charge about $600 per hour to put in a flapper. (Mike told me he had no choice in the matter.) Her soothing response?  Ordinarily we charge $185, and it doesn't make any difference if he's there or not; if he has to make a separate trip or not. Shouldn't Mike have told me it would be $125 before he did it? I asked. Well, he didn't. So you should have had Mike uninstall it. Except Mike never told me I had that option, nor would I assume it was available; i.e., charge me nothing (vs. $370 or $250) to do and then undo a $185 (or is that a $125?)  service that would take twice the time as the original service. Ill never call you folks again, I told the lady who called. Fine, she said.

Wonderful review to share! We woke up to no heat this morning with heavy snow coming down. What a bad situation. We called a number of HVAC companies--- Bowman Heating and Plumbing were the ONLY ones willing to brave the weather to come help us! I can't say enough about this local/family run company! This is not the first time we have had excellent service from them. We are toasty warm and so thankful to Bowmans!

I have used this company a few times now mostly for adding fuses for our outdoor kitchen and heater for pool. They were efficient and knowledgeable. I'm not super happy with the looks internally within my guest bedroom but it works. Also the outside outlet is not quite sealed properly and I'm afraid it cause an issue. I out a covering over it but definitely going to need it replaced. I like how quickly they were able to come by and fix each inquiry. Just not sure the full extent of the fixes, feels like it is always rushed. Could be that the jobs are not being pursued like before Covid, but electricians sure seem to be in demand. I'll give them another opportunity.

Full HVAC replacement.  Out of 10 local companies called around 6pm on a Wednesday, the only one to come out.  Install was fast, efficient and the owner personally reaching out to answer questions was a great touch.  Highly recommend!

Recently my furnace stopped working. Eric was the on call technician. He correctly diagnosised the failure and followed through with the repair. He was sensitive to our schedule and keep me informed throughout the process.

One of our sinks began leaking and flowing under the bathroom sink on a Saturday afternoon. I was unable to get it to stop and the main shut off valve would not close the line all the way.  I called the after hours answering service and was called back within 15 minutes. The dispatcher was friendly, informative and gave the information I  needed to make a decision to the problem.  We determined that service could wait until the next day.  On Sunday, Jackie the service person arrived on time and fix the sink right a way.  He returned on Monday morning, again when he said he would, and replaced the main shut off valve.  I have used Bowman's service three times (HVAC, hot water heater & sink leaking), I have found they are professional, friendly, knowledgeable and stand by their work. I recommend them for installations, repair & service!

If I could give zero stars I would. The after-hours technician was rude, disrespectful and condescending. Unfortunately I did not get his name.
At 10:15 pm on the night before the recent snowstorm (1-5-15), my furnace broke down. As a single woman with an elderly tenant, I was concerned about the freezing temps and getting through the cold night. I called Bowman's and spoke to the after- hours technician. He asked me what my furnace was doing and I explained that the motor was working, but there was no ignition and no heat. He told me what the charges would be if he came out that night vs the next morning and asked me what I wanted to do. In an effort to make an informed decision, I started to tell him what the diagnostic flashing light on the furnace was saying and ask about the availability of parts if he came out that night, but he immediately cut me off. He very rudely informed me that he just needed to know if I wanted him to come out that night or not. He said he had to get up at 5:30 a.m. and he wasn't going to have a discussion or conversation with me. He said, This isn't a social call. Just tell me if you want me to come out there tonight or in the morning. I politely informed him that I would be calling another company.
I felt very disrespected in an already stressful situation. I could understand if I was droning on and on, but the entire conversation lasted exactly 1.26 minutes. This is certainly not the kind of service that Mr. Bowman would expect of his employees. Is it?

Twice yearly service contract is expensive. Both visits the technician stayed for 20 minutes or less with two units. I think he changed the filters and that's it. I've had other companies provide service which lasted about 45 minutes. Makes you wonder.

We had multiple plumbing issues. The scheduler was understanding of our problems, and flexible with scheduling. The service tech was right on time, very pleasant and patient with us. Service was quick, pricing was fair. I'll use them again.

Service was prompt. However, in my opinion, the cost of approximately $500 for snaking my clogged master bedroom toilet and replacing the flush valve and ball on another toilet, which took approximately 30 minutes, is outrageous. It equates to an hourly rate of $1,000, which is more than some of the hourly rates charged by some attorneys at prestigious law firms. Furthermore, I don't understand why a plumbing company cannot provide an estimated quote range for a specific job prior to coming to your house, for which you are charged a service fee regardless of whether you have the company perform the service.

If auto service companies can provide an estimated quote range for various services, why does there appear to be a lack of transparency with plumbing companies?? Do they derive more revenue from service calls than actual services performed??

I have never used this company. I wrote a very poor review for a different company bearing a similar name.  The VERY, VERY, VERY WRETCHED company I reviewed is in Harrisburg, PA.  Again, this company is innocent of any damages to my home.

Just got my rusty old AC & furnace replaced by this company. They've done repairs and installed a humidifier for me in the past. I've been very happy with their services and pricing so far. A great local company to do business with. You can save a little if you check their website ( bowmanheating.com ) for promotions before scheduling work.
