I use Darrell for all my handyman repairs. He does great work and is reasonable in price. He does amazing electrical work. He is easy to work with and get a hold of him. I recommend him highly.

Leave it to the professionals!  Recently started doing some upgrades to my home.  In our bathroom, there is a fan and light controlled by one switch and we wanted them separated out so we didn't always have to have the fan running when we turned on the light.  Seemed simple enough; buy the switch, install and... poof!  No light, no fan and even no power to some of the outlets.  Okay, took another look at the wiring and tried it again.  Nothing!

I'm definitely not the type of person who gives up on things, but on the other hand, some things are just better left to the professionals.  I began calling local electricians and mostly what I heard was our next appointment is in two weeks...  I called Ocean Electric and left a message.  Within a few minutes I got a text from John letting me know to call whenever I had a chance.  I called him right back and explained what happened.  Unlike all the others who told me it was essentially impossible to get someone the same day let alone the same week, John told me he was almost finished with another job and would be out to my home in about an hour!  I thought this must be too good to believe but sure enough, John and his work partner showed up and went right to work.

They are both very professional and within a minute or two they had diagnosed the problem.  Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn't wired for a dual switch.  They offered to put the old switch back and that would be the end of it or if I was okay with it, they would drill a few holes, run some additional wire and make it work with the two switch.  I really wanted the dual switch but it was going to require drilling possibly up to five holes.  Again, I really wanted the dual switch so I told John to go ahead.  I was able to return to my work while they went ahead with the repairs.  In all, I think it might have taken them an hour and it when it was all over, the dual switch was working perfectly!  

But not only that, through John's expertise, he managed to only drill one hole to run the new wire.  But to be honest, I don't know if it really would have mattered had he drilled more holes.  They are absolute professionals and did an amazing patch job of the hole they made and cleaned up entirely after they were finished.  I've had other electrical work performed where they had to cut dry wall and those people did NOT do any type of patch work or repair of the dry wall.  John doesn't just throw up a patch; he really does an amazing job that almost looks like nothing at all was done to the wall!  

I feel VERY fortunate to have come across John and without question, for ANY electrical work I ever need done, he will be the first person I will call.  He and his work partner were VERY professional and friendly.  They are very knowledgeable, thorough and quick.  If you are EVER in need of an electrician, I really can't recommend them enough.  Don't even call anyone else for a quote.  Just go straight to John and you won't be disappointed.  Thanks again John for helping me out today and responding so quickly!

I'm so happy to have found Kelley! She was very punctual. Kelley installed curtain rods and curtains, several cat shelves and steps, and earthquake-proofed a tall, heavy bookshelf.

Had an emergency electrical issue that came up over the weekend. A technician arrived on Monday, troubleshot the issue and fixed several outlets and a fuse panel repair. Overall quick service at a competitive rate. Technician was very friendly. I plan to use them again for any future business.

Hooked up my hottub and everything works great.  It has been 1.5 years since install and no issues.  JW was prompt and courteous.  The owner made some outstanding recommendations on the install - for example, a covered outdoor electical outlet (to avoid getting splashed) and we love it.
I now need to use JW again and wanted their number, found on Yelp and decided to post a review.  I will post again after they install my lights and fans in my outdoor living space!

Geraldo, the business owner was very professional, had great customer service and was very knowledgeable with electrical work. I would definitely recommend him for any of your electrical work needs, whether it is a small or huge electrical job, he will make time to fit you in his busy schedule to service your electrical needs. His prices are very reasonable, he does not over charge considering that working with electricity requires hard work and is very dangerous. Carlos and Vince just installed some recessed lighting for us, and it was done perfectly.  These guys quoted a great price and completed the work, neatly, quickly and correctly.  

They also fixed a short circuit in some existing lighting, instead of charging us for a completely new install.  In orther words, this is an honest business.  And they do all  of this while being courteous and pleasant.  I highly recommend them.

Alex has done all of our spotlights inside our home added dimmers, added outdoor lights added LED lights under our kitchen cabinets added LED lights in our garage connected our outdoor Camara and much more. He is quick and does a VERY GOOD job. He is very knowledgeable in everything he does. He has definitely been a pleasure to work with EVERY single time and he's has done countless jobs at our home. Called La Costa Electric this morning looking for repair of my GFI circuit.  Brock said he would be here between 1 and 3.  He arrived on time, looked at the problem, replaced my old GFI outlet, which had malfunctioned, resulting in a melted box and scorched wires;  also replaced the second old GFI outlet in the kitchen and a second bathroom outlet that was worn and wouldn't hold a plug.  All work was done in under 40 minutes and the price was very reasonable.  I will be recommending Brock and La Costa Electric to everyone who asks about a good electrician.

We always try to hire local and independent, so Laurence checks these boxes.  He was able to quickly diagnose a couple of really annoying electrical problems that were above my pay grade.  But what I was really impressed with was the time he took over the phone and via text to help me try to resolve the problems, more than once.  That is truly the definition of service.

Needed help inspecting our home electric setup and installing some smart switches. George got back to me within minutes of my request and they arrived a few hours later and completed the work flawlessly. I highly recommend them.

I'm not cool with random men at my house at all when I'm home alone. I get very nervous and text my husband constantly, and stand where I can easily get away, etc, etc.
Anyhow, this guy must be an angel. I never for one slight second felt even nervous or that he wasn't trust worthy. He'll walk you through everything and show you what you need and don't. I left him completely unattended without a care in the world while he worked in my garage.

I'm only sharing because it was difficult for me to find someone I could trust and Randy was nothing short of awesome.

After posting my previous review, Robert contacted me almost immediately. It seems as if there was a technical issue where he was not receiving any of my texts and his calls were not going through to my phone. Nevertheless, Robert came out the same day to correct the issue. It was unfortunate that we had the technical issue, but I am relieved that we were able to fix the sink.

John was great! I called another electrician at first to replace one of my outlets, and the price he gave me was 3 times higher than the price John gave me. He was available on the same day (at a time of my choosing), and came promptly at the appointed time and fixed the problem. He was also extremely nice, and was quite fun to chat with. I would definitely recommend him, and will be going to him for any future electrical issues!
