I needed an electrician to re-attach and reconnect a ceiling light in my mom's kitchen. I contacted Alvarado and left a message. Dave returned my call, and made an appointment to go to my mom's condo. I told him that my mom is hearing impaired but she can text. I texted him the light fixture and the location on the ceiling where it was removed from. The communication between Dave and me, and Dave and my mom went very smoothly. He finished the job. It cost a little more than the estimate that he had provided over the phone, but at the end of the day, my mom said that she is extremely happy with the job that he did. I just today had a chance to stop by, and sure enough, they have done a very nice job. It looks better than the original.

Ramon did a fantastic job installing an outlet for our dryer and an ev charging outlet. His professionalism, attention to detail and communication were all superb. He will for sure be my go to guy for all of my electrical needs.

So far so good. I have Ev San Diego installed my tesla charger last January and its been working excellent. Its save me money and time going to charging station. Bravo Zulu.

My home's electrical panel desperately needed to be replaced (upgraded). So much so that SDG&E determined it to be a fire hazard. I called White Horse in a panic to have my panel replaced, Luis the owner of White Horse got to work quickly and scheduled SDG&E and his crew to come out and complete their parts to have my panel replaced. I cannot thank Luis enough for saving my house from possibly lighting up like a Christmas tree. Shout out to Sammy (White Crew Member) for being so respectful, professional, and diligent while working on my property.

Linden responded to my inquiry in less than thirty minutes.  He was able to troubleshoot and fix my GFCI issue in less than a minute and fixed five outlets.  Also, Linden and Josh installed a new exterior mount bell box for my new Kuna flood light in less than one hour.  Linden and Josh were very professional and quick.  These guys have EXCELLENT knowledge, skills, and abilities with respect to residential electrical services.   They are AWESOME!

Very Happy with the work performed by Ochoa Electric. The techs name was Enrique, he works from Oceanside to IB. His work was outstanding and well done.I will use Ochoa Electric for any electrical work I need. Highly recommended.

Tom's been out to our place for two different jobs and he's great to work with. He walked us through different options for outlet placement and gave his recommendation, while leaving the choice up to us (that's so refreshing; other folks we've worked with often tell us exactly what we should do). Tom is super helpful, polite and a nice person to have in your home. He's prepared and had all the right materials for both jobs and squeezed us in quickly when we had an issue in the kitchen. We absolutely recommend Tom and will work with him again!

In response to Larry's review:  here is the exact msg I received from Larry after my initial email request explaining my issue and request for service:

Hi Jonita, It sounds like the panel may need a little troubleshooting to determine it's condition. We can do this for $68.50. As far as the extra wiring is concerned we will give you a free estimate on that and any additional wiring issues at the time of inspection. I can put you on the schedule for tomorrow between 11am - 1pm or Saturday, perhaps ?  Thank you Jerry

The above msg from Jerry CLEARLY states the trouble shooting charge to be 68.50 NOT 68.50 per 1/2 hour.  That was revealed when the tech arrived. This is typically called a bait and switch.

I did not phone CLD on Saturday because 1) there office hours listed them as closed 2) I did my homework and research on what Mark told me and found he profusely exaggerated the danger and 3) was able to fix the issue myself.

Mark arrived at 11:15 and departed at 12:31. That is clearly not 1.5 hours spent diagnosing a problem.  He spent more time telling me how dangerous my electrical service was than diagnosing or repairing the minor.

The handyman was likely the perpetuator of my issue (plugged in 2 old high energy spotlights without any sort of surge protector), was waaayyyyy over his head and was promptly dismissed from any further services at 12:50 pm, 19 minutes after Mark left. I have this time well documented.

Interesting, Jerry reports my initial message to him went to the wrong email box, yet, the message i sent him on Saturday 3/19/16 reporting I was disputing the charge submitted to my credit card on 3/16 (yes I was billed over a month after the service date), went to the correct location and was viewed immediately. Ummm....

Anyway, essentially scaring someone into a fairly simple repair at the cost of 340.00 is nothing short of price gouging.  I went on to hire a different  licensed electrician (not on yelp) who installed wiring for 3 smoke detectors, 2 ceiling fans,1 overhead light (I supplied the materials) for a total of $350.00 (5.5 hours of work).

Jeff is awesome. We are moving into a new house, so we needed him to do a ton of stuff for us. He quoted us quickly and fairly, and then he came out and spent an entire day at our place, just checking things off of our list. His work was thorough and clean. We appreciated his work so much that we will be having him back for another bundle of things this week. Highly recommend.

I was in a dark place... (I laughed after I wrote this)

I was doing a little home improvement when I got in way over my head with the electrical.  I had a complex (for me) circuit powering three different lights with three sets of three way switches.  I spent an entire day trying to figure it out myself with online diagrams.  Then it started to get dark outside and I realized I needed professional help.  So I cracked open Yelp like I always do when I have to spend more than a few dollars.  I limited my search to affordable, local, five star companies.  I called four or five electrical companies.  Some were big with call centers and secretary's who only had appointments beginning a week out.  Some were small; The number dialed straight to the owner.  Either way, no one was willing to help me when I needed it (right now!).  I don't blame them.  It was 6 PM.  I probably wouldn't have helped me either.

Then I called Craig with Core Electric.  He was different.  Just talking over the phone I could tell he really wanted to help me.  In fact, he was truly interested in my problem as if he actually liked what he does and thinks the paycheck is a perk.  He too was unable to come over because early that morning he was involved in a head on collision and his car was destroyed, and he was working another project he anticipated would take him late into the evening.

Most guys would have let the stress and situation get to them and be abrasive and impatient with people over the phone.  Craig took the time to listen to me, he looked at pictures and amateur diagrams I texted to him, and he actually walked me through the problem over the phone!?!?  What?  This is 2016 and old fashioned customer service doesn't exist anymore right?  Wrong.  With Craig you get old fashioned customer service.  I know I will call him for any future electrical work and I'll recommend him to everyone I know.  I hope, for your sake (future customer) this review finds you,  because you won't be disappointed.

I called Jimmy with Spark it Up Electric and he was very responsive and helpful! He was able to come by that day to check out my faulty outlet and fixed it on the spot!  He is fast and efficient and I felt safe with him in my home. I also had him install a ceiling fan, which is awesome! Great priced and reliable too! I would definitely hire him again!!!

Our old solar inverter blew and not being the original owners we knew nothing about the system. Every company I contacted either wouldn't help or wanted to sell me a new system. I was referred to Mark from the manufacturer of our inverter. Mark was fast to respond and worked with me to figure out what our system was. It turns out the type of solar system we had is no longer common and tracking down a new inverter was difficult. Mark went above and beyond and did all the work to find one for us. One of his guys came out and installed it in a few hours and we are back to running on solar. I can't recommend Mark enough, without him we would probably have had to install a whole new system.

I used them to unclog a drain and to do a preventative maintenance on my air conditioner.  They showed up on time and got everything done quickly.  I love that each time I schedule them, they always call me to see if they can come earlier.

Great service

I had the remote modules go bad on two of my ceiling fans and decided to give Brilliant Electric a call.  Alfredo came out and confirmed that it was indeed the remote control modules that went bad as both fans had power going to them.  He gave me two options: reinstall new modules but knowing that they too may go bad in the future or hard wire them to use manual pulls.  I decided on the latter as I didn't want to deal with the modules going bad again.  Alfredo did a great job to get them going again and charged me a very fair price.  I would highly recommend Brilliant Electric for any of your electrical needs!

I highly recommend David and his team.  They were highly responsive and professional.  Their work was impeccable.  David is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.
