Within less than 24 hours, Ramon had removed and replaced my water heater, and my hot water was restored. He is efficient and neat, and I am very pleased with his work. I came across Absolute Rooter & Plumbing because of an issue I was having with a leak in our bathroom. I recently bought a house and had a home warranty policy that put me in contact with them. I am extremely pleased with the service I received from Kareem. To be honest, he hasn't actually fixed the problem yet but he came out and diagnosed the problem while my wife was home, it turns out that I have to have some tiles removed from the shower wall before he can fix the problem but what really stood out for me was that when he original came out he spoke with my wife and I didn't get a chance to question him about the repairs so they were unclear to me. I called him and he told me he would be over to go over any questions that I had. He did just that and more, he removed the shower faucet and the shower head and showed me exactly where the leak was. Not only that, he didn't charge me another penny to do so!! I have to remove the tiles so that he can fix the problem once and for all. If I have any more plumbing issue you can be sure that I will be calling Kareem. Thanks Kareem for going above and beyond!!

I'll stick to the basics.  We had a sewer line clog.  A gent from Dependable came out, went under the house to scope out our pipes.  Said we have a 1-way clean out.  True.  He said code calls for 4 clean outs.  I looked at the municipal code for our city - I do not see anything in the code that calls for multiple clean outs (our house is a standard sized rancher).  He said given the length of our house, and the complex layout of our cast iron pipes (hmm....), he recommended putting two cleanouts in.  How much?  $2,400 for each clean out.  We should also have them power wash off the gunk with a sewer jetter.  Makes sense.  How much?  $600.  So 1 cleanout + snake the clog + power wash = $3,000.  Add in the 2nd recommended clean out = $5,400.  Got it.  He also said that given the age of our cast iron pipes (42 years), that we probably will need to replace them.  He might be right about that.  Ok....how much?  $24,000.  Ok.  Got it.

The first question he asked when he arrived is: are you looking to stay in the house long term, or are you looking to sell?  While one could argue that this is a logical question, given the above context, that feels like a sales qualifying question to determine how big he can go in the sales pitch...in terms of 1) how many sewer line services he can sell, and 2) the price per service.  I'm guessing the zip code may also play into the price quote.  

Decided to get a 2nd opinion/price from another 5-star company.  They said: one clean out will do it.  We don't need 2...much less 3 or 4.  How much?  Clean out install + snake clog + power jet walls = $1,500.  So half the price from Dependable.  I think this price is good, but not unusually so.  I had talked to a 3rd reputable plumbing company in Mountain View who said putting a new clean out in ranges from $800 - $1,200, depending on how deep they have to dig.  Our sewer pipes are not abnormally deep.  The company we used had to move some sprinkler pipes, and they replaced a leaking valve with a new ball lever (yeah!), all within the $1,500.  So my take is the price from Dependable was the aberration, as well as the push for us to put in multiple clean outs.  As for comments like the complex layout of our pipes contributing to the need for additional clean outs, I'll leave that to the reader to decide.  

Re: the $24k quote to replace the sewer line, we have a quote from a reputable trenchless sewer company for much less than that (well below $20k).

I'm giving a 2nd star because I think the gentleman technically knows his stuff.  I appreciated that he went under the house to scope things out, and he took a camera to the lateral sewer line to understand the situation from home to the street.  I just think their pricing is out of line, and some of their sales tactics are on the sketchy side.

I just moved into a house that appears to have a lot of plumbing issues, and EAMS has been readily available at every turn.  They are very easy to communicate with and have been able to schedule me quickly for urgent needs.  They are upfront about costs and foreseeable complications, and suggest ways to save money. They are now our go-to for my whole family because of their reliability.  I have had difficulty with plumbers and others in the past, so it's such a relief to find a company like this.  Highly recommend!

I must say that Jose and his team are amazing. They did a full house re-pipe and sewer replacement. they told us that the job would take 5-7 days. however they finished the job in 2.5 days.  They were honest, clean, professional, respectful and did and amazing job. We will call this company for all of our plumbing needs. They went beyond what was expected of them.  They even put shelf paper under my kitchen sink to make it look beautiful... there were no hidden fees the estimate was exactly what we paid.  We got 6 estimates from different local plumbing companies and they were the best price.  So the old saying buy cheap get cheap is not the case.  I would recommend this company to anyone for any plumbing needs big or small. so please give these guys a call you will not be disappointed..   thanks Jose and team you are 'the best.

Well, a follow up to previous review. I was happy when owner followed up and offered to give me a small free service to make up for my previous review. Set up appt date and time for him to come out. Tick-tock. He never came much less a follow up message. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Walter was such a pleasure to work with, and I will definitely call on him in the future for any and all home repairs. Not only did he fix my bed frame in less time than predicted, but he graciously fixed my sliding closet door and repaired some loose boards on my back fence for free. I am glad to now know such a multi-talented handyman.

GREAT plumber!  I highly recommend Ken.  I'm a very satisfied customer.

UPDATED: So I originally gave them a 1-star review, but then they contacted me and were very apologetic and friendly about the whole thing. They said that the person who had mis-diagnosed my problem had been let go and they were very sorry for causing me any problems. They also refunded my money from the toilet install, which was good of them. So I upgraded the review to a 3.

So I went with these guys to get my new toilet installed... and it seemed fine. But then it started bubbling when I flushed and the water level in the toilet seemed pretty low. So I called them back to try and fix the problem. They tried snaking the sewer line, etc., but nothing seemed to work. So then I called in another plumber who came by and was immediately able to diagnose the problem. It turns out that the fill valve was improperly installed and there was nothing wrong with the sewer line. Very annoying.

As luck would have it, on 4th of July I decided to try and repair my sprinkler system. This led to me turning off my main water supply. Upon trying to turn it back on, I noticed that the entire house had lower water pressure. It was a rough couple of days trying to figure out what was wrong..

E and J's Plumbing was recommended to us by some friends of ours, and I gave Jeremy a call. He was polite and listened to every detail of what had happened, and scheduled to come over early the next morning. Upon arriving he introduced himself to myself and my wife and went to check out the issue. Jeremy was able to quickly identify the problem and was able to get it sorted out. This was a situation, where someone could have easily take advantage of our lack of plumbing knowledge and taken us to the cleaners... Jeremy was not that person.

He even took the time to look at my sprinklers, and instruct how to correct the issue, and came inside to take a look at the possibility of installing a new kitchen sink for my wife. (he even wore shoe covers before coming inside) Jeremy showed us very quickly the type of business owner, and person that he is. He has earned himself a new customer, and I will be referring my friends and family to E and J's Plumbing from here on out.

Always get three bids. Needed to replace my 25 year old HVAC system, and upgrade my insulation. Was looking for companies that had been in the Sacramento Area for decades, large company's, multiple services, commercial and residential. There aren't that many. The best bid and equipment prices, Clarke and Rush, ask for Mark Thyne, for a quote. Want to thank Rod the Project Manager and his follow up also. Upstairs is a split system, and downstairs a package system, they brought a crane and they completed the HVAC installation in one day! Their Lead Luke, and his crew, a joy, fun to watch professionals work. The Insulation Installation crew Art, and Ryan, just pro's. Highly recommend.

Called to get a quote for cleaning out my kitchen drain line. Quoted $300.00 ! Guess he didn't want it. Got it done elsewhere for $150.00

I have used this company several times for problems with my pool.  They have always fixed the problem.  They are prompt and very clean.  I hopefully will not need them anytime soon.

I had a great experience. After being without our water heater for 10 days (no other company wanted to install a second floor unit or get an approval from our home warranty co), Am River agreed to take the job on. Friday afternoon, and we had hot water by Tuesday morning. Very grateful for their professional, expertise and speediness.

We had an emergency plumbing problem a couple nights ago and Bobby showed up extremely quick and got us through the night.  He came back the next day to give us a quote on the main problem and we decided to hire him. He worked all day and into the dark evening hours and finished the rest of the job today. I have to say, he was very professional and honest and courteous.  Never fun having a plumbing problem, but Bobby made it better! Thank you Bobby!
