These guys had the most competitive bid on vinyl windows for my home!

Not to mention their installation team did an amazing job of switching out the 15 yr old windows that used to be such an eye sore- and my house has much better curb appeal too!

Three years ago in 100+ degree weather our 25 year old AC failed. C&R sent a repairman the same day. He fixed the system and gave us a fair assessment of how long the band aid would last. He honestly said it could last a month or a couple of years. It lasted 3 years and was still going strong when we decided it was time to replace all of it. I sought an got 5 bids from local installers and considered at least 5 different AC unit. Clarke & Rush not only gave me the best bid; it was a bid where there were no extra charges. I also had them change the air filter from the one bid to higher MERV 13 5 inch unit vs. the 2 standard they bid. They did not charge me extra for that change. Since the unit was installed we had an electrical box problem. I called them and they rushed a repairman out who fixed it promptly. I told him I wasn't sure it was their fault. He said: Once we touch the equipment, we own it and accept the responsibility to fix. A second electrical problem occurred and even though it was system outage with all my neighbors losing power, C&R sent a repairman over within 2 hours. He cheerfully explained to us that it was a utility failure and not our panel. These people are golden and live up to their claims.

I called Clarke & Rush for an AC tuneup and am so glad I did! Ray showed up right on time and wore a face mask, as well as booties over his shoes. He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with me and my lack of understanding about how the whole system works. He have me some great tips and was so very kind as well. Thank you, Clarke & Rush!

Clarke & Rush installed a new Carrier furnace/air conditioner in my home nine years ago.  They had the low bid and seemed to want to work with me to give me the system that I wanted.  One guy did most of the installation over a few days.  It's been working great for nine years.  

I also have them perform the twice a year maintenance service.  I know that some of you may think it's a waste of money, but they have found on their trips a gas leak, an oil leak and low coolant levels all repaired before the heating/cooling season started.  There has been one tech, Don,  who has done the majority of the services over the years. He is great.  The quality of the other techs that have come out has been uneven.  One or two have been good, but mostly they are just adequate.

We had some new insulation blown into our attic.  Since our last business dealings with Clark and Rush were so good We decided to have them do our insulation. We were greeted by Paris and Brian promptly at the agreed upon time.  They too were courteous and clean cut.  They seemed to know what they were doing and quickly set about to do it. They worked well as a team and finished up well within the time they stated it would take them. Once again a lot of attention was paid to keeping our furniture and clothing clean and safe. They laid out mats and taped up Plastic to protect our personal items and used shoe covers.
Then, once again they brought out the vacuum an made sure everything was in as good of shape , if not better , then when they arrived.

I love this company. They always come through for me when I'm in desperate need. My AC stopped working at midnight and by noon it was fixed. Ray Walker our service technician was sweet, kind and explained everything thoroughly.  This company's promptness and Ray's kindness couldn't have come at a better time. The baby of our family just came home from the Pediatric ICU and bc of Clarke and Rush he won't be spending it in a hot home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Both the customer service person that called and the tech, Jon were great!  Super professional but not stuffy.  Did everything they said they would and then some. Jon was so friendly and explained everything that he was doing and why... he also gave me options for upgrading but never made me feel pressured... I would suggest this company any day.

Clarke & Rush installed 11 new windows in our 100 year old home. We love the windows and the quality of the installation. They sales team was easy to work with (responsive, etc.) and the installation teams were professional and made sure to keep the installation areas cleaned up afterward. The job took three installation days, instead of one, because the windows had been mis-measured (twice!). This was a disappointment, but Tony and Frank were flexible in rescheduling, apologetic, and offered to take a bit off the project cost in acknowledgement of the hassle. All told, pretty happy! Would have been 5 stars, no question, if not for the three install days.

Buying a new A/C unit is expensive and time consuming especially if you're like me and want to research which systems are reliable and which companies are reliable.  I'm very pleased with my new A/C installation by Clarke and Rush.  From the first contact with Aaron Turnbow their Senior Sales Manager through the installation it went smoothly and I felt informed and comfortable that I'd paid a fair price for what I got.   All of the installers were professional and friendly.  They made sure all my questions were answered and showed me what they had done.  They also took and extra effort to make sure they left no mess.
Probably one of the biggest concerns for most people when you have buy a new A/C system is cost.  I got four separate estimates.  Clarke and Rush was not only the lowest, but the lowest by quite a bit.  Some of the estimates were as much as three times what I paid.  Where does that money go when you're talking about the same system, and the same amount of work?   I'd rather not be funding someone's vacation because I wasn't smart enough to have an idea of what I should be paying.
Although he wasn't the only sales rep to do it, Aaron took the time to make sure I understood the return on investment for any rebate.  Sometimes it doesn't make sense to pay more and he made sure I had all the facts to make a decision.  He was very respectful and didn't boast about having the lowest price.  It was as simple as it should be; this is what we do, this is the pros and cons of the systems you asked about, and this is what it will cost.  
I'd highly recommend Clarke and Rush if you need to buy a new A/C system.  It's a big investment that needs to be done right the first time without breaking the bank or funding somebody else's trip to Hawaii.  Fair and reasonable pricing along with professional workmanship is very important to me.  If it's also important to you then Clarke and Rush is the company to get for your A/C installation or service.

After paying the fee for a service call, the tech checked out the system and simply removed the cap off the a/c unit, stating it was not getting enough air. Sounded good, problem is the house still never cooled down. Now needing their specialist to inspect the sytem, BTW: They only have one person who is qualified to do this. Guess what? After coming home from work and waiting 2 hours the tech failed to show! After speaking with Maryann who apoligized for the mix up another appointment was scheduled. After again waiting an hour, tech again was a no show. I have moved on as I cannot afford to lose money waiting for these inept clowns to not show. I lost approx $300 in lost wages taking off work, waiting around for no one to show up. If they were my employees, they would be collecting unemployment now. Don't waist your time calling these people!!

Nobody ever wants to have to replace their air conditioner, but if you have to, it's imperative to have a good experience. Clarke and Rush delivered that and more. Chase provided an expert and honest estimate, was very professional, knowledgeable and just all around friendly. I got a quote from another, smaller company thinking that it would be cheaper and it was...by $300 with no permits whatsoever (you know, what you legally need to replace your air conditioner). The other company said the permits would be another $1000 (so not cheaper) and acted quite put out that I even asked. Clarke and Rush includes permits in every estimate, because they want to do things right.

Tobiah, Tony, and Becca did an excellent job installing my new air conditioner, making sure to keep the house as clean as possible and letting me know if they ever had to do anything that we hadn't already talked about (my return had to be made bigger, which Chase had said was a possibility). They were awesome about keeping me informed and were, again, just friendly and warm people. They were fast and efficient and I'm now sitting comfortable in my newly re-air conditioned home on this 90 degree fall day. Thanks, Clarke and Rush!

Clarke and Rush installed our boiler (floor heating) in 2017. Two weeks ago they gave it a 'tune up' and replaced a filter for the discharge water. I am impressed by their commitment to quality, efficiency and expertise. And, their prices are very reasonable - I did my research.

I highly recommend them to anyone with a small or large project.

OMG, we can't recommend Clark Rush enough!  We've been doing business with them 40 or so years and they never disappoint.  We've used them throughout 2 different homes (installation & repairs), but in this review I will stick to today's experience.

Last night our air conditioning decided to malfunction :(  Of course during triple digits, 3 days before a house party.  I called Clark Rush around 10am Friday morning, never expecting to get an appointment before the party, but regardless system would need to be fixed at some point.

Christina got us a service appointment for 2pm, and we had cold air a-blowin' by 3:30!!!  She was so friendly & patient as I was having a slight meltdown wondering how we could pull off a party in 107 degree heat.

The technician, Ray, was amazing.  He diagnosed the problem, keeping us appraised of his progress at every step.  He was really knowledgeable & explained things in an understandable manner.  If it wouldn't have been inappropriate I would have hugged him when I felt that first breeze;)

They have fair pricing, and do a terrific job from first contact to final goodbye.  Try'em, you'll like'em:)

This is my first review on Yelp. I want to post my experience with C&R to help offset the other reviews, because my experience was really great. We had an entire HVAC system installed by C&R to replace a very old furnace in our house. Included were all new registers, ducting, gas line, dedicated electrical circuit, and removal of the old unit and ducting. I was extremely impressed at the speed and quality of the work that was done by the crew. Once the unit type, size, # of registers, and ducting system was designed, the guys showed up early and promptly one morning, and had the system going by mid-afternoon the next. We are really enjoying the new system. Based on the excellent job C&R did with the design and installation, I cannot recommend C&R highly enough! 5 Stars!

We were Specific with what we needed done and were scheduled with A Senior Plumber,
Appointment Day they send A Different Plumber out who charged $69 and a price quote of close to $2000 and left and did nothing ! The work we needed done was to adjust the water level in the toilet tank and Replace an Outside Sprinkler shut off valve ,Only the valve ,nothing else ! Boooo to You Clarke and Rush Thumbs down ! Don't Hire them if you  are Over The Age of 70 ,seems they Cheat them Out of Work and Parts ,and Money ! We Know Money doesn't Grow On Trees or We would All Be Farmers!

Had to bite the bullet & replace my 30 yr old A/C, and my archaic hot water heating system.  Read the many reviews, got bids, and decided to go with C&R based on a recommendation of a retired guy I know who used to work for them, and because they gave a me a great price on a Carrier Heat Pump system for both my heating and cooling.  I knew that Carrier is one of the best brands of AC, and am so impressed with how quiet & smooth it runs, and that it reduced my electric bill by over $100/mo.  And I was so very very impressed with the 4-man install crew & how professional they were.  Usually, you'll have 1 or 2 guys that are green &kind of disjointed.  But not them.  You could tell they were all very well trained & very experienced.  And I like that they also did this seal treatment on all my ducts to seal any leaks.  And finally, was very impressed that they did this free check up of my system 5 months later, to check that that output temperature of the air was proper and to check the operation of the outside and inside units.

I called several companies for quotes for new HVAC system and windows, After reviewing them all and having good luck with our current 20 year old Carrier system we decided to stick with what worked so well for the last 20 years and was still working.  The new system was install along with all new windows and french door.  We couldn't be more pleased with the crews who did both jobs. Fast efficient and clean..  They even played with our dog.

Just a little over a year since my new HVAC was installed, Been working great with no problems except for yesterday, I got home and noticed the house was hot, Found AC unit not working, breaker were not tripped.  Called Clark and Rush, They showed up within a hour, Zack checked the system and trouble shot it to a bad connection in a junction box in the attic.  This wasn't their problem with the system they installed.  Zack went above and beyond and did a temporary fix and said to get an electrician to do a proper repair as soon as possible.  I went to pay him but he said there was no charge.  He got my hot house cool for me on a Saturday.  Thank you Zack and Clark and Rush, I knew we went with the right company for our HVAC system.  I did get the temporary repair fixed today.

I was impressed by the service at Clarke and Rush...from our estimator, Brian to the head installer, Luke. They were on time, professional, informative, and extremely knowledgeable. It was one of the easiest and most positive transactions I've had with a company who has done work in our home. Not only did we get an amazing A/C that is much cooler, more powerful, and energy efficient, but we got a Quiet Cool whole house fan as well. The pricing was very competitive (several hundred dollars less than two other companies) and they helped optimize our system by increasing the size of some ducts and rearranging some so that they went directly from the plenum to rooms that had previously had very poor war/cold air circulation. They also changed a couple of vents on our ceiling so that the direction of airflow was better in the problem rooms. I will definitely call this company again if we need help in the future. We requested a quote for a AC unit replacement. They were prompt and thorough. We had a second bid and decided to proceed with Clarke& Rush. A few weeks later they arrived early in the morning to start. The two men wore coverings on their shoes and worked very hard. It took a few hours and they got everything done. They included a free inspection of our duct work and reported that it was in good shape. They also tested our smoke alarms and installed a new thermostat and carbon monoxide detector. We felt safe and cool once they were done. We were given a ten year warranty on the unit and doubt that we will have any issues.

Working with Clarke & Rush has been a great experience! Adrian first came out to service our 35 year old heat pump. He recognized it was failing and recommended replacement. Brian came to the house the next day to help us select a replacement and to process financing with SMUD. Just five short days later Steve, Billy and Paris installed our brand new system! Every one we've dealt with at Clarke & Rush was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Five stars all the way!

After getting quotes from 2 other companies, I was referred to Clarke & Rush
in order to determine how to remedy the issues I was beginning to have.  I immediately was contacted by Mark, a Senior staff Engineer who immediately set an appointment to come to my home at my convenience.  It was quickly and accurately determined that my HVAC system was now ready for replacement after 19 years of good service.  C & R took time to explain their ability to replace it quickly with the new system that they had in stock!  This after a smaller independent company had quoted at least 2 months to have another brand of HVAC installed.  (The current pandemic unfortunately had interfered with a faster timeline for their ability to ascertain a similar unit.)  The quote provided  by C&R was also substantially lower!  A huge relief immediately was felt!
C&R immediately set an install date at my convenience.  Additionally, the 3 installers showed up a little early on the date of install and had the old unit out and replaced, tested and running by early afternoon.  The team of installers, Michael, Clayton and Tobias were both efficient and knowledgeable with my questions, insuring my comfort level as they worked!  I compliment and fully recommend Clarke & Rush to other homeowners without any hesitation!  Thank you from a very happy customer!

I got a telemarketing call directly from their number, and identified as Clarke and Rush.   I asked them why they were calling me when I was on the donotcall.gov list.

You aren't on the list, or we wouldn't call you.  Or are you one of our customers?

Don't you know if I am one of your customers or not?  You are calling me illegally.

You are not on the do not call list or we wouldn't call you...blah blah blah blah blah.

If they don't care about little laws, they won't care about following the big ones.

Clarke & Rush recently replaced my furnace and air conditioner units. The team, led by Luke, who did the work were wonderful: on time, clean and neat, professional, and clearly knew what they were doing!  Luke answered all my many questions and told me exactly what to expect when inspections happened. The system passed the duct pressure test and then passed the county inspection on the first try!!
This company meets and exceeds all expectations! I recommend them without reservation!
They also installed units that met SMUD requirements for energy efficiency so that I was able to get rebates.

We had done some work with their partner company for a prior furnace issue so when our AC unit died we called and Zach was able to come out on a Sunday to assess what was going on.  Unfortunately, some sort of prior AC fix caused a small electrical fire in our AC unit and it was toast.  Zach told us there were options to try and fix it but if it were him with a 19 year old AC unit he'd get a new one.  We decided to move forward and 2 days later Brian came out to look everything over and give us an estimate.  

We have a young child, so when the estimate was being scheduled my husband asked them to hold a spot for us a for an install and lucky for us they were able to come out that Friday to install a completely new HVAC unit.  It took less than 7 days from when we called to when we had a completely new unit which was perfect because it was a cool week and we didn't need the AC.  

The team came out for the install - they were very respectful and nice as they spent almost an entire day inside of our house.  There was minor damage from some painters tape, but they were super apologetic and said that we would be contacted for the fix.  (Still waiting on this and I assume I may need to call myself, but it wasn't anything too terrible.)

My reason for 4 stars...I left the house twice for various errands and each time I came back one of the installers was sitting on a fabric bench in our house.  I just felt like it wasn't the most respectful thing to be sitting on our fabric furniture when their clothes were quite messy from all the work they were doing.  

Besides that I would recommend Clarke & Rush and I'm sure we will call them in the future...although I'm hoping we don't need any work on our HVAC unit anytime soon!

Clarke installed my mothers air conditioner a few years ago and when it went out I called them and asked for a service call. I called at 8:30 in the morning and explained that my mother was on hospice at home and she is bed ridden so the call is urgent since getting overheated on a day over 100 is out of the question due to her medical condition. The admin put me on hold and said they were booked for residential service today and she will have somebody get to me tomorrow. They could have referred me or something. I would never use them ever!!!

We did a couple of bathroom remodels and after having a great experience with Clarke & Rush replacing the AC and heating unit we called on them to do the plumbing for the remodel and again the experience was outstanding. Brandon did the estimate and what I liked is that he also did the installation so he knew what had been promised and I knew who would be doing the work. The cost was also reasonable!

Bought a house Aug 2018, not new so i knew there would be things that might go out. Know that HVAC is an expensive item. I did my research. And after several inquires i choose Clark & Rush. Within a week Paris B and Brian S came in cleaned out the attic and sealed it. Next day installers Tony R, Tobiah P, Rebecca K, Aaron removed and prepared the attic for the new system. Spent only 1 night without heat. Everyday they came in laid down drop cloths to protect my wood floor. When they left for the day they cleaned up as if never there. Have to say I'm  going to miss them. So personal, knowledgable, enjoyable individuals.  Going to have to find something else to bring them back out. Haha. Product, service, price exactly what you expect from a business.  Great job Clark and Rush. Providing rebates helped with the cost.

I walked into my house last night at 5:30 pm and it was 106 degrees outside. Imagine my dismay to be juggling groceries and a 14-month old only to come home to a house with no A/C! We had previously had Bonney fix it; and when that didn't hold, Bell Brothers gave it a try. Still no good. I called Bell Brothers first and was told the soonest we could get a tech out would be Friday at 3:00. I went to Yelp to see who was listed for A/C and saw Clarke & Rush listed. Knowing that the chances of getting help were slim (it was 6:00 pm during a heat wave, after all) I gave it a try. The dispatch technician was professional and told me a tech would be calling, and warned me that the number would appear blocked on my cell phone. Within 45 minutes I received a call from Jon and he said he could probably get to my house around 10:00 pm. I was ecstatic. So imagine how much happier I was when he called back, told me he was running ahead of schedule, and got to my house at 8:45! He remembered my name and my husband's name when he introduced himself, got right to work, and we had fabulously cool air by 9:15. He installed some part that I don't remember the name of- I was too busy finally getting a cranky, overheated baby cooled down and put to sleep. All I can say is that you have a customer for life and Jon is awesome- professional, personable, courteous, and efficient. Thanks again!

After my posting that they had not responded to my call regarding a filter with water and rust stain on the filter, they phoned and set up an appointment for me.  
They sent out Ray, who installed my first heat pump/AC, and he checked everything out and serviced.  I had lots of confidence in him.  He blew out the line for the condensation to flow outside and now it is all working as should be.  If you are lucky enough to get Ray, he is very knowledgeable and can alleviate you anxiety.  Has good customer service skills as well as tech.

Aaron gave us a bid on HVAC and Insulation.  It seemed very reasonable.  No pressure.  He had a lot of information available (to address comparison questions) and is clearly knowledgeable about their products, purchasing power and bottom line.
After sitting on the bid and checking around (with others in the area who complimented their standing among their peers), we signed.
They showed as promised, worked fast and fairly clean (insulation install does cause a bit of residual dust) and appear to have provided a higher-end product at a very reasonable price.  Every staff member was at least cordial, if not fairly friendly.  None cut corners and several pointed out the permitting and other concerns we wouldn't even have known about.  
If anythiing happens during our first year or two, you'll know about it.  But, at this point, no problem recommending them for bids and the likey work they'll get after you check around.

Giving Clarke & Rush Heating and Air company a BIG shout out for coming out to our home when our HVAC died on the hottest day of September ever @117'! Brian Webb came out the next day for an estimate and sale of a new AC and Furnace for us. Then 6 days later we had Tony Rider and his team of Shawn Perry and Garrett Ames come for 7 hours and install all our new systems!! The entire team was amazing and we are so appreciative of Clark & Rush for the great service and quality installation we received when we needed it most! THANK YOU!!! Our home is cool and comfortable and safe once again.

A follow up to my original review below:  Pat Rush called me today to understand the situation that occurred and to see if he could make things right.  I felt that Pat really did want to understand what happened and I appreciated his honesty and the fact that he said his person made a mistake when she said the bid was for American Standard. If I hadn't already made a decision to go with another company, I would have reconsidered Clarke and Rush for the job and worked with Pat on a bid for my heat pump.  Thank you, Pat.  I appreciate your call.

I did my research on having my heat pump replaced and I narrowed it down to JR Putman.  However, I second guessed myself and got an on-line quote from Clarke and Rush.  The bid was very good, so I called them and verified the brand of equipment that was included in the bid and they said American Standard.  I had been told by the JR Putman sales guys that Clarke and Rush would follow up with a visit and they would find a reason that the on-line bid wasn't realistic.  I was skeptical, but when the Clarke and Rush guy came and gave his bid, sure enough, it was thousands higher than the on-line quote. Since the install was very standard and simple, there was no way to increase the bid due to access or other things that needed replacing (ducting).  Instead, he said the increase was because I wanted American Standard equipment, which I told him I had just verified via a phone call with Clarke and Rush that the on-line bid was for American Standard.  His response.....I hate those on-line quotes, they're never right.  His final bid with American Standard ended up being more than JR Putman, so I went with JRP...........but I still felt duped by Clarke and Rush.

Ray came to my family's house to repair the AC. He shared with me the stories of working with my late mom on her new air-conditioning units and a new electrical panel. His customer service skills are exceptional including letting me know that the air conditioner stopped working because I haven't change the filter. he change the filter in the AC works amazing now. I highly recommend working with Clarke and Rush.

Today 3 of your employees, Michael, Tobiah and Ryan arrived on time to put in a new AC/furnace. They were friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything before they started. They worked very hard all day and did a fantastic job. Two of your other employees, Stan and Brandon were in the garage installing a new electric water heater. They too were very friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything they were doing. I asked if I could cell phone video their explanations and they said of course! Then both Michael and Stan explained everything about the new equipment. Michael also explained the maintenance and the manuals. I would highly recommend this company and most especially the 5 men I mentioned above!! 5 stars all around!!! Thank you Clark & Rush!!

Had an amazing experience with Clark & Rush installing two sliding glass doors. Frank was very knowledgeable in product and offered his expertise with choosing vinyl or new construction, and made me feel comfortable from signing the contract-no pressure like other businesses I had offer me an estimate to ensuring a great look. And because I'm on a budget they made me feel comfortable in getting windows by the piece. As for the installation process,  Brian and Nick made it look easy. They were spectacular in installing the window-went above and beyond. I definately recommend them if your looking to replace any windows in your home. I just ordered my next window!

The guys who did the actual work were excellent.  However, the account manager does not follow up with you if you have questions.  I got passed to the office and some lady Terry didn't follow up either.  I'm still waiting for information on my permit and rebate.  Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism.

I would have rated this 0 stars, if possible!!! Clarke & Rush came out last week to look at my AC. I was told i need a brand new unit, after they spent about 10-15 minutes looking at it.  I reviewed with them again asking the question, So from what you have looked at, i need a new AC unit and there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that can be done to fix it?

They both said, Yes, and we're looking about roughly $9,000. I understand it's an old unit and know that eventually it will have to be replaced, i get that. In my opinion, if it can be repaired...i would like to be told.  Instead, they rushed to tell me i needed to replace it. Their quote was close to $10,000.

I called another professional AC repair company (Bradly's Heating and Air) on Friday. He fixed it for $400.
It's upsetting how they try and take advantage of people, especially during these extremely tough times we are all enduring.

I can't say enough about how great my experience has been with Clarke & Rush!  My a/c went out a few weeks ago and based on a recommendation from a close friend I called the guys he has clean his system.  It was a horrible experience and I am kicking myself that I did not call Clarke & Rush in the first place.
The office staff is friendly and extremely helpful, they scheduled a technician (Ray) to come out and asses the situation.  Ray examined the existing system and gave me my options.  He called into the office to have a sales consultant come out and work up a bid to replace my a/c so that I could make an informed decision.
I immediately received a call from Christina, who when finding out we'd been dealing with this issue for a couple of week said that she would track someone down and get them out there right away.  Before leaving, Ray let me know about rebates and financing through programs offered by SMUD and PACE in case I did decide to go for the full replacement.
Mark was my sales consultant, he was able to squeeze me in between appointments and showed up not long after Ray left.  This was the complete opposite of a high pressure sale, he told me that we could extend the life of the old unit a little while longer, or we could put a new one in without breaking the bank.  This was very different from what I was told by the other company, as well as friends who have had to have new units installed.  Mark filled me in that some less reputable HVAC companies, tend to take advantage of people who need to replace there system, especially in the middle of summer.  
Later that evening Mark emailed over a proposal that was lower than the company that was supposedly giving me a steal of a deal because we were in need, for better equipment without me informing him of the offer I was given.  I accepted, and he was able to meet my wife and I the next evening to complete the paperwork and he had us scheduled for install Saturday pending SMUD approval.
Christina called as soon as SMUD approved on Friday to let me know, and confirm we were still on for install the next day.
Brian, Rusty, and Tony showed up right on time this morning and immediately went to work removing the old equipment.  My family was here from out of town, and they were all courteous to them as well as my wife, daughter, and I.  These three guys worked quick and efficiently together, they each tackled a task to get everything completed ahead of schedule.  
They did a terrific job, and did a clean install.  The equipment is preforming great and is much quieter than our old unit, while using less energy!  Do yourself a favor and call Clarke & Rush for you HVAC needs instead of the predators out there trying to drain your bank account all under the guise of doing you a favor.
Thank you to the entire Clarke & Rush team, I will definitely recommend you to everyone that I know to help them avoid companies like One Hour Heating and Air!

Sadly, I have not even had a Clarke and Rush technician out to our house yet and I must give them a bad review. I called this morning with a semi- urgent plumbing need. We are in the middle of a remodel project and when our contractors opened up a wall, we discovered that our water heater vent duct had become disconnected and has been blowing hot exhaust into the wood framing, charring the wood. It's a miracle the house hasn't caught fire. We obviously need to replace the vent system before the construction can continue. I explained our situation to the customer service operator and the need to get this done quickly before a fire started. She took all my information and said she could have a plumber over to give us an estimate between 4 and 6:00 this evening.

No one ever showed up. I called Clarke and Rush shortly after 6pm to see if anyone was still coming. I got an answering service who took my information all over again (shouldn't my information have been in the system already since I gave it to them this morning??) and said she would pass my information on to a service technician who would call me back shortly.

No one ever called back....I am extremely disappointed with this unacceptably bad customer service. I expected far better of this company. Not showing up for an appointment and no call to explain what happened?! Sorry- you don't get a second chance with level of unprofessionalism! We will be choosing another plumbing company who shows up on time and returns calls.

Ray came on a Saturday after I had emailed on Friday evening. He called ahead and was very courteous and COVID-19 conscious. I had a dead battery on my air conditioner which he repaired. Thank goodness because I am elderly I need my air conditioner working properly.  He replaced everything he had to moved and was very thoughtful. I'm sure he is a valued employee and if other technicians are as good I can recommend this company with high marks.

Dont let these other reviews keep you from calling Clarke & Rush.  There staff and repair people are outstanding! Clean , prompt, fast and extremely well educated in their field. We used them for our air conditioning and heating unit and are so pleased with them we recommend them to all our friends. It really makes me mad that YELP here decides not to post all comments on any given review, YELP actually picks to post only long term YELPERS which is UNFAIR to new users here if you sk me its kind of shady and should be something YELP looks at asap! I opened this account for myself today just to write this as we usually use my husbands account to post all of our reviews until we found out this week about how YELP decides to post reviews and from whom.

These guys are awesome!! It is always a gamble when you need services like this done (heating / AC) I mean, shoot, just search on YouTube and you'll find HUNDREDS of dishonest service techs trying to get over on homeowners. Well not them, they were honest with us.
Our heater stopped blowing out hot air & they came and diagnosed the problem in less than 10 minutes. They got up on the roof and found that the problem was a loose wire connection. They could have easily  told us that it was this or that and charged us for all kinds of nefarious BS. But they didn't. They were honest & got straight to the point. This is the kind of thing that is so appreciated!! And funny enough, they even found my moms cost co card up on the roof (she must have dropped it when she was cleaning out the gutters lol.)
*ATTENTION CLARK & RUSH MANAGEMENT:*
The two techs that came out are named KURTIS & SHANON. They deserve a raise. They were very kind, honest, well spoken & even gave my dog lots of love! Give them a raise! Employees like them are few and far between.... It's worth it to keep people like them on your team, don't let them be poached by competitors who could offer more $$. I'm juuuust sayin'!!

Life has been hectic and responding to Mr. Rush has been a very low priority for my wife and I. Below you will find the transcribed voicemail (thank you Apple) and my email response to Mr. Rush.

This was the voicemail:

I tried to communicate with you with for a number of times here can't get a hold of you uh would like to talk to you I have reviewed everything that was said on Yelp and there were lots of inconsistencies that are there I would like to talk to you uh I feel that what you're saying is not correct and I have my law that I can live with. if you want me to go that way great um I would rather communicate um if I see that yelp still on the board uh then my next call will be a little different

This message is for Pat Rush:

Mr. Rush, I received your calls. However, with everything that is taking place in my life at the moment, the Yelp review I left for your company is NOT a priority for me. I clearly stated the facts and I we are now past the point of graceful resolve. Now that you have used threatening language in your contact, I no longer feel comfortable talking to you. We chose another company to give our business to. Your salesman was lacking professionalism and skill. I have no further business with you or your company and I will not submit to your bullying. Clarke & Rush's installation team really outdid themselves with the repair on our AC unit. Our duct work was in pretty bad shape from a previous remodel, and Steve Ottley and his guys got it all squared away without any additional charges above the initially quoted price of repair. They seemed to be much more interested in ensuring was done right throughout the whole system than the previous two companies that have done work on our system. Their price was fair, and I feel like we got more than our money's worth. Brian did a good job explaining all of our options and exactly what went into all the quoted amounts. I can't recommend their team enough.

Many friends recommended Clark & Rush for their quality and value. Today Tony's crew (including T and John) finished replacing my outdated downstairs and upstairs heating and cooling systems. I am a do it yourself guy and enjoyed watching them work with a can do and get it done attitude. They worked well as a team, used the best materials for the job, and all were highly skilled and did the work with attention to detail like they were working on their house. The outcome is fabulous with no compromises for quality. I was concerned with the initial placement options required by the code and Tony came up with a couple options. We settled on one that was very satisfactory. Tony has great experience and can deal with any installation challenge that may come up. Kudos to Clark & Rush for hiring top notch people, I appreciate their work very much.

I purchased a new HVAC unit for my home from Clarke & Rush and was very impressed with the company representative I worked with, Mark Thyne, my salesman, did not pressure me in any way and was reponsive to my repeated calls. I reviewed several estimates before I decided to go with Clarke & Rush and asked many questions in the process. C&R were out of the unit I purchased so they upgraded me to a more expsensive unit for free.

The install went smoothly and I felt comfortable with the technicians they sent to my house, They were helpful in scheduling the city inspection and coordinating my SMUD rebate. I had a minor issue with the install after I had paid for everything and Mark was very responsive in resolving the matter. I am a satisfied customer!

We purchased our heating & air conditioning unit from Clarke & Rush in Jan 2005 & they have been taking care of our heating/AC needs ever since. We have purchased their service agreement in recent years & this gives us 2 visits a year to check our system. Scheduling is easy & they now have a 2 hour window which means you don't have to wait all day.  Sergio has been our service technician for the last few visits & he does a great job. He checks the system thoroughly & answers any questions we might have. We will be requesting Sergio again for our next visit!

My water heater died last week...I called Clarke & Rush and they were at my house in less than an hour!  The man they sent was so professional and made an easy fix.  Since my water heater was old, I decided to replace it.  I got bids from several companies and Clarke & Rush had the BEST pricing by far!  They came out the next day and installed the water heater.  Their plumbers were neat and tidy and wore booties during the installation.   They were  very accommodating and very polite.  I also had them install my air conditioner years ago and they consistently call me for maintenance and I will definitely utilize their services in the future.  Thank you to all at Clarke and Rush!

I have used Clarke & Rush for probably 10 years now. I purchased a new heat pump from them. I've used them for maintenance. I've used their maintenance program. I have never had an issue until now. They are telling me my maintenance program has an expiration date. I've never heard this before. They are starting to use hard sales tactics. I won't continue to use their service... too bad when I was a very loyal customer.

We are completely satisfied with our new 4 ton roof a/c-heater unit which was just installed atop our bakery.  The entire unit swap-out was performed in just a few hours.  Michael also provided us with a new thermostat and verified the a/c cooling temperature was a good 20 degrees cooler then at the a/c air intake.

Rhonda was a huge help with providing all documentation including both the Clarke & Rush warranty and the manufacture's online warranty process.
I highly recommend Clarke & Rush.

We choose C & R as we had  used them in the past to install our Heating and Air conditions unit. This time we were in need of replacing all of our ducts (in sub flooring). We really liked Tony, however he did say he would be  here to oversee the project and never made it, otherwise he was a great guy. We had another company come  out and it was hard sales and way more expensive.  The maintenance contract to come an service us on a routine basis wasn't an extra cost as the other guys were. The workers were respectful to our home wearing booties on their shoes. The other company didn't do this and it annoyed me.

Great professional company.  The receptionist is always super friendly and helpful.  They always call and confirm their appointments in advance and then they call you approximately 30 minutes before the arrive.  Just had a new furnace installed.  Their sales rep was informative without any type of aggressive sales pitch.  Their installation crew was the best!  Austin and crew arrived promptly on the day of the install, worked very hard and cleaned up after themselves.  Very friendly, efficient and respectful.

People take their time to use social media to complain about certain companies regarding service they received. In my case I am using social media to praise Clarke and Rush of their service After having several companies, give me estimates on a new HVAC system, I was overwhelmed. I happened to see Clarke and Rush commercial on TV and I said to myself, this company seems reputable, let me call them and schedule appointment. Mark, staff engineer came out to look at the problems and advised of the current issues and what needed to be done, A whole new system ..  He was very professional and friendly. Weeks later.... Today Clarke and Rush team came out to remove the old HVAC & install a new HVAC. All 3 men named Rusty, Aaron & Pedro were punctual with their  arrival time.  All 3 men worked efficiently, professionally and pleasant to talk with. Each technician had their own responsibility to complete the job, demonstrating knowledge and professionalism and communication! Most importantly worked together as a TEAM!!
I greatly was impressed on how well & fast the job took from beginning to completion. I appreciate they're work, job well done!

Don't have Clark and Rush install your new air-conditioning/heating unit if you don't wish to pay for work not actually performed or if you don't wish to pay someone else to check to see if they actually did the work that was listed on the contract.

We had our unit installed over a month ago.  The contract included reworking duct work to allow for more air flow into certain parts of our house.  On the day of installation, the workers showed up an hour early - sounds good unless you have a job and are at work.  They installed the new unit and left without doing any of the duct work listed on the contract.  My husband (a licensed contractor) called them and they made an appointment to come back.  My husband had to take time off from work to show them the work that needed to be done.  The technician said they couldn't do that - it was not possible. They didn't know they were talking to someone who knows how a house is built.  My husband proceeded to lay out how it could be done - it's not rocket science - it is duct work.  They left, a new crew came back and 'did the work'.  The work wasn't completed and the parts that were done were not up to code.  My husband crawled under the house to see if they did the duct work there - the did just enough so you wouldn't see the part left undone unless you crawled under the house.  Another call to the company with pictures.  A new person comes out. Promises made.  Another trip by technicians.  We are just beginning to see and end in site.  This company should pay us for dealing with the aggravation and frustration we have experienced.

What really concerns me is how often they have pulled this on unsuspecting folks who don't have a live-in building contractor who knows what work is supposed to look like. I keep picturing a single woman or a guy with no building knowledge begin ripped off by this company.

Our salesperson, Brian, is the best and the one you want to come out!  Very knowledgable, thorough and personable.  We got the perfect fit A/C for our home and within our budget.  He shared a video of our attic space and ducts, and we found out we desperately needed insulation and a little duct work to accommodate a room addition.  It had been 30 years since the last install!  He was honest and a delight to work with.  

Serge and his crew of installers were fantastic!  OMGosh.  Very timely, efficient, professional and courteous and just plain great!

UPDATE: Pat with Clark and Rush called me today 5/16/2023 stating that his Controller has been out of the office and he is the one that makes the decisions, this is why I have not heard back from him on the proposal.  
The Proposal is that 1st I remove all my reviews and hold him harmless for the job and be quit about it.  They will then refund me. If they do not refund me I can repost my reviews.  If I do not remove the reviews he stated that when the other contractor removes the windows, that I can sit the windows aside and Clark and Rush will pick them up.
UPDATE: I received the proposal 5/27/2023 II have decided that my reviews are more important to the consumer's then me receiving hush money.  Since Clark and Rush did not want to work with me to determine the cause of the issues that I am having with the windows. I will video the contractor removing the trim... to determine the cause and update my. review..

My air conditioning died on Friday. It was 104°outside and they were all booked up by the time I called. They managed to get to me Saturday morning, found a leak and got it fixed sooner than they rhought they would. Ray was very professional and kept me informed on what was happening. We have been dying in the hot Sacramento summers.  Since we remodeled we were seriously lacking in insulation in or attic and our house was 80 degrees.  We had several estimates from insulation providers and decided on Clarke and Rush.  The installers were Dannon and Arthur.  We want to give them a HUGE THANK YOU for being so kind, professional and for going above and beyond.  They took photos and videos to show us how everything went and they over delivered.  We would not hesitate to recommend them to others and our home immediately felt so much better the same day.  I also want to give a special THANK YOU to Julie in scheduling who went out of her way to get us in on our days off when they had a cancellation.  People like this give us faith that there are still good people and quality companies.  THANK YOU!

Our water heater went out during one of the recent rainstorms in Sacramento. Scott came out to see if there was anything that could be done to get it up and running again. Unfortunately it was not repairable. He told me to call the office the following morning with hope of scheduling a new install asap. He did say that they were short handed, and down a couple techs. I called that morning and spoke to Christina and Jen. I explained how my elderly parents couldn't go another day without hot water. (Scott already had given them a heads up about the situation). Jen worked some kinda magic, and called me back within 5 minutes, and had Brandon and Carl en route to our house within the hour. Brandon and Carl showed up around 10am, and had us up and running with a new tankless water heater before 4:00 pm. You guys were great! Top notch techs!
I am forever grateful for Jen, Christina, Scott, Brandon, and Carl. IMO, they're the best in the business, and Clarke and Rush earned a lifelong client. Thanks again to all of you! You guys are phenomenal!!!

We just replaced our Heating and Air Systems and used Clarke and Rush. We have two systems- one for upstairs and one for downstairs. We got quotes from 3 contractors and Clarke & Rush were the lowest bid and we had the most confidence in their work, experience, and the equipment they installed. They did an excellent job on the installation. They showed up at the scheduled date and time and finished the job in the time frame they provided. Their installers were very professional and did a very good job. I did go up in the attic to inspect their work when they were done and I was impressed. I highly recommend Clark & Rush.

In 2005 we purchased a new central air/heating system from Clark & Rush. The first summer it ran fine, but every summer after that it seemed to be on, but no air conditioning comes out. We have repeatedly had them come out to fix it and it would last for a week or so and then the same problem would appear again. Then, after a few years of this problem, a tech came out and told us that all was good and that it was only a disconnected wire! Pretty sad that no one ever noticed it before!
So now here we are in 2011 and the same old problem has come up AGAIN! We just paid 160.00 for maintenance in April and the first hot day in June it doesn't work! We paid over $10,000.00 for this unit!
If I had to do it over again, I would have gone elsewhere. These people simply do not know what they are doing.
I also take note that I see some people have given Clark and Rush 5 stars on this site. I am really wondering if they work for this company or they know someone that does.

CLARKE AND RUSH provide the finest service.

We chose Clarke and Rush from 6 companies we looked at to replace our rooftop AC/Heater unit.  Aaron came to our house and gave us a tutorial on current technology and our choices.  We followed his recommendations for both the type of system and the efficiency rating.  The work was scheduled for the next week.  Clarke and Rush were very flexible when rain cause a reschedule. They had all the details figured out, all the parts, the crane scheduled and even the roofer to reseal the area around the new unit. We got the one day install as promised.  Luke's crew even did the testing required for rebates to be sure it would past the inspection.  The system works just as Aaron said it would and we are very happy.  Clarke and Rush stayed in touch during the inspections for Efficiency and the City permit.  All went smoothly.  We are happy with the system performance, the cost, the new utility bill, and the service we received from Clarke and Rush.

If I could give 30 Stars I would. I ALMOST signed a contract from a competitor for 17K(+) , and thought that was the best anyone could do. I acted on a hunch and IM SO GLAD I DID. Brian (sales) and Julie(office) could not have been more professional and froendly. The install team was on time and the install process was SEAMLESS.  Everyone worked together to make it all happen smoothly. I have a new HVAC/Thermostat/ Smoke Alarms/CO Alarms/ Ducting/Insulation all in two appointments. They explained everything to me, they were so friendly, cleaned up afterwards(I have had SLOBS for contractors here before) I could not be happier. I highly recommend. Give these folks a call before anyone else I promise you will not regret it.

The service Tech did a great job inspecting and explaining a split system on a large house for my client, he was timely and thorough and did not try to upsell services.
This was a very hard apt to schedule as a agent however due to the companies policies on only dealy with owners instead of their licensed representatives or buyers with written permission to perform the inspections. I hope this improves in the future or it will be hard to use them again.

We recently were forced to replace our HVAC system in the main house during an extremely hot period of time in July. Our property also has a small Casita / Mother-in- Law's Quarters for which heating / cooling is driven by separate HVAC system. After our uncomfortable July experience, and since both systems were almost 21 years old, we decided to proactively replace the remaining old Casita system.

The Casita is small, approximately 400 square feet. Replacing this soffit built hydronic heat pump (split system) proved to be more difficult than expected. I contacted 7, well known, heating & air companies for onsite visits to provide bids. They all came out but only 4 of the 7 companies got back with me ... providing job quotes. Because of supply chain issues, there were also big differences in the estimated time of installation and ... price. The highest bid was 70% higher than the lowest.

I selected Clarke & Rush. They not only had experience dealing with my type of system (some of the other estimators seemed perplex), but they were also the least expense (this rarely happens for me). I am glad I did so.

As it turned out, the job was incredible complex. It took 3 people almost 9 hours to get the job done. To put it simply, the structure was built around the heat pump in the ceiling. Both removal of the old and installation of the new required a lot of high-skilled, custom work.

The Clarke & Rush crew were skilled, professional, courteous, and worked their tails off. I highly recommend.

My husband and I just had our aged HVAC system replaced by Dustin, Luke, and George. Everyone was very polite and Dustin did a great job of setting expectations for each day's work, accomplishing all that was promised in a timely way. We've had Clarke & Rush do our twice-annual inspections for many years when a the company that installed our unit said they couldn't replace a needed part, even though they had it on their truck while we were enrolled in *their* 2x annually service program! We were glad we found C&R, and their quote for replacing our old unit was under a competitor's bid. Way to keep customers coming back, Clarke & Rush!

We used Garick HVAC, a subsidiary of Clarke & Rush to install two new heat and air systems that were 35 years old; Brian and his crew---  Thor, Vladi, Visseli worked hard and did a great job. The installation was complex, requiring tremendous skill.  We obtained a bid from 5 other contractors and are extremely happy with

Had to replace a fried control board on our aging HVAC system. Being a Carrier Authorized Dealer, C&R was our first choice. Our technician Zach Hackett was very professional, courteous, prompt, and honest. The office staff who would call for reminders and dispatch were also very nice. Unfortunately, due to the age of our HVAC unit, they weren't able to guarantee anything. They have, however, earned a spot at the bidding table when we do eventually replace our system in a few months.

Very responsive and showed up on time! David did our estimate and the price was around $4k less than another company we had come out (one of those companies you hear commercials for on the radio all the time). Clarke & Rush is also a chosen SMUD contractor so we were able to qualify for $2,300 in SMUD rebates and $1,100 in PG&E rebates making the price for this job a whopping $6,000 less than that other well advertised company estimated  Overall very satisfied with the service so far! Will update once job is complete!

Great experience having the insulation redone in our attic.  Our house had older insulation which they removed, sealed everything with foam spray, and then blew in new insulation.

House is quieter, and so much more even with temperature, there used to be hotter rooms like the bathrooms where there wasn't good seals or insulation around the vent fans and recessed lighting. Our AC actually kicks off during the day on hot days, it used to just run and run because it couldn't keep up.

Very nice, non-pushy experience during the quoting and sales part of the project. And the guys that came out to do the work were really nice and professional. Pretty good communication throughout the project, scheduling etc.

I had an appointment today between two and four, where did most of the afternoon and finally called Clarke and Rush at 4 o'clock to find out where they were, they told me they were short a couple of people but they tried to call everybody but oh well too sad too bad. I said I already paid for this appointment so give me my money back, the snarky little girl at the front desk told me she doesn't do that and if I didn't like it she would hang up the phone and terminate the phone call.  How rude!  Time to find somebody else to service my air conditioning and heating needs.

My rental property manager called to tell me that the heat and air unit at a property I own wasn't holding an even temperature, and, at times, was shutting off. I requested that he also ask the repairman to  1) give an estimate for replacing the intake grill, as the current grill was difficult to open and 2) check out the entire heat and air unit for any maintenance needed items.

The repairman replaced the hot surface igniter for $250. Their estimate for replacing the grill and cleaning the indoor coil was $450, which seemed high; I needed a second opinion.

Over the past five years, Clarke and Rush had replaced five heat and air units for me. I had never called them for repairs, but they had earned my confidence. I asked them to check the entire unit.

Several days later, Clarke and Rush emailed  a Work Suggested form, with the following items (my comment italicized):
ESA (ESA wasn't defined. Extended service agreement?) $159.
Blower clean--found blower and wheel very dirty          $229.
Clean the evaporator (coil)                     $329.
Found blower run capacitor leaking oil                   $129.
Gas line doesn't have a sediment trap            $229.
No condensate trap on evaporator coil condensate line $129.
Remove old intake grill and install new filter grill          $229.
Total                                                                              $1,433

Two weeks after the Clarke and Rush appointment, the tenant reported that the furnace still wasn't holding an even temperature. The igniter was not the problem---$250 wasted.

A friend recommended Southern Comfort Heating and Air. I met Mark at the property and watched as he worked. The evaporator coil and blower were inside a difficult-to-access compartment behind pipes and coolant lines, and required a bore scope to examine. Mark said the coil and blower had only a light layer of dust. Surprised, I asked to look; both were nearly dust free.

Southern Comfort Heating and Air's invoice:
Blower and wheel are clean                    000.
Evaporator is clean                           000.
Replace capacitor                            $61 (NOT $129).
Replace intake grill                           $86 (NOT $229).
Retrofit not required for the sediment or condensate trap. 000
Check out the unit and service call                $89.
Replace defective thermostat, which fixed the problem   $182.
                                   Total     $418.

So much for loyalty!!!   When I call a company, talent is important, but trustworthiness is even more so. I have other rental units, but I'LL NEVER CALL CLARKE AND RUSH AGAIN.

WTF is wrong with this company? The technicians they send out are pretty astute at assessing plumbing problems, but the scheduling for repair visits is total BS.

I had a great tech come to my home to assess a leaking pipe. He told me the estimate, and at that point scheduled a return visit for the actual repairs, while he was still in my home. I heard him confirm with the scheduler, via his speakerphone, that my repair was scheduled for the day I requested. There was no other instruction given other than he would see me the day of repair.

Well, that day was today, and not only did no one show up, but when I called, the person answering the phone told me that the customer is the one who schedules appointments, not the techs, and thus I was not on the schedule for today. I recall this happening with this same company a couple of years ago under the same circumstances, so that's probably shame on me.

So the customer loses in the long run with Clarke and Rush: I took the day off of work (using valuable PTO), my pipe is still broken, and the best I was offered was to have someone come out another day. While I appreciate being offered an alternative, I'm SO FRUSTRATED that whatever the scheduling process was not communicated to me, and that somewhere along the line I should have called to schedule the repair, rather than go with the tech's assurance that the repair day was confirmed (and the verbal confirmation that I heard over his speakerphone when he called it in).

Do yourself a favor - don't use this company. Use one like Bonney or Beutler - at least they call you the day before to confirm your appointment.

I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Clarke and Rush. We needed a new AC in our house and after shopping around I chose Clarke and Rush based off their positive reviews, and wow did I make the right choice. Luke and Matt showed up right on schedule, they were courteous, polite, professional, and above all else they took great pride in the work they did and it shows. There was no corner cutting and they kept me informed throughout the course of the job. I never once felt like they were just trying to get the job done as fast as possible to move on to the next, they were here to fix and install my system and to do it right. I will be using Clarke and Rush from here on and recommending them to anyone in need of the services they offer. Luke and Matt stopped by this morning for one final inspection and to see if I had any more questions, these guys are true professionals.

So I'm just now finding out Clarke & Rush took over Capitol Mechanical,  who had installed and serviced my AC I purchased from them in 2010. I called Capitol Mechanicals phone number and got Clarke & Rush instead, I of course figured they like any business would keep all the information of the long time customers of the company they acquired. Well, no such luck,  or actually I wouldn't know because no one in the office, or technicians have an answer to that question. I called on Monday July 29 because my air conditioner stopped working the Friday evening before and we had no choice but to endure the 106° temperature over the weekend.  The soonest any of their technicians would be available would be today Friday August 2nd between 10-12. They informed me for the first time now I would also have to pay an $89.00 service fee just for having someone come out to my house. I made the appointment out of desperation from the heat and then called Bach a day later to ask what the cost would be for actually repairing any portion of my ac unit.  I let the person answering the phone know, that Capitol Mechanical had come out every year since I purchased the unit to clean out the condenser,  no charge.  She informed me,  no one in the office had any idea even a ball park amount for any charges for regular service or repairs other than the $89.00, they couldn't speak at all to cost amounts or even guess. Her only option she gave me was to go to the website to obtain an instant quote which btw is for a new ac unit and install, nothing for repairs! Then the guy comes out today after a whole week (the hottest so far) and tells me I have a bad part that is over $300.00 to replace, and is probably under warranty,  but I would have to provide him my original contract fro. 2010, where I purchased the ac from Capitol Mechanical.  I informed the technician I lost everything in 2016 with a water loss in my home and had no paperwork. Well so again with skyrocketing temps over the weekend I am no closer to a fix or repair and the technician said oh, I don't know if we'd have any of your information I'm sure only the office would know,  no that's not something I could check on! I wish I could say I'm even surprised or shocked, but nope, customer service has gone by the wayside. Companies no longer care what level of service is delivered to their customers or even keeping long term customers they're just out for the quick buck, turn and burn. It really sad. Hey any of you guys know a good heating and air company?????

My landlord had these guys install a new rooftop AC unit on my house. The thing was obnoxiously loud when the AC was running, pulsating you can hear and feel throughout the house. Over 60db when you're underneath it.

He had them come back to replace the unit and the replacement is just as bad if not worse. I'm not sure if it was a failed installation or the units they sell are just noisy and obnoxious. Only thing I can tell you is I miss my old AC unit which wasn't ever noticeable and cooled the house just as efficiently. Be advised, they will tell you the noise is normal and you shouldn't worry about it, then drive away.....

Purchased new vinyl dual Windows for the home that I own and bought a brand new heating and air unit had it installed on my roof and the ducting everything was done by Clark and rush, 3 years later I am told I have a leak in my system and I had to pay $85 for a service call. Clark and rush did the installation yet they are telling me it's going to cost me over $375 to fix this. Very disappointed.

Clarke & Rush was referred to us as an installer through a gutter guard manufacturer's website.  Their crew was friendly and professional.  They cleaned out our badly clogged gutters, resealed all the joints, and installed gutter screens on our 2000SF two story home and detached garage in a space of about four hours.  The work site was left clean and the installation looks great.  The price was fair and saved me many hours of climbing ladders!

My  92 year old mothers  furnace stopped working  we called the company we had been working with they unplugged it and plugged back in  that lasted a week Clarke and Rush came the following week  john found exactly what the problem was ordered the part  fixed the furnace so we had some heat  john returned and because of heater manufacturing changes had to redo the whole wiring system very difficult job   Time consuming  hardest job he had done. It works great now john was great friendly expert technician.  Very pleased with this company

I just had an extremely negative experience with Clarke and Rush. Heat went out on Saturday before New Year's; by that Thursday, they still hadn't located the part to fix our heater. The clerk I spoke to blamed it on the parts department. But in less than 10 hours, I contacted another heating company that diagnosed, located, and had our heater fixed. I can't remember a time I have been treated so poorly by a company.

Jennifer was very nice when she called to schedule the maintenance visit. She also called to let me know that Richard was on his way. Richard was very thorough when he was doing the maintenance, the only reason this isn't a five star review is that he told me that the coil needed more thorough cleaning, which would be an extra $127, but we could do it ourselves by just removing some screws and taking off the cover on the coil, spraying it with cleaner and then rinsing it and putting the cover back on. We did do it ourselves, but found the cover was much more difficult to take off and put back on than he indicated it would be. There was also a lot of odor in our house from the cleaner we used. But that really wasn't Richard's fault. In the future, I think I would have them do the cleaning. I hope that more thorough cleaning won' be needed at the next maintenance visit.

We needed a new HVAC system since ours was over 15 years old.  Called several companies including Clarke and Rush.  We decided to go with Clarke and Rush as we were very impressed with Brian, the sales rep.  He was very knowledgeable and did not try to sell us more than we needed. He also found that some of our duct work was poorly done by the original builder and offered to fix it as part of the project, at no additional cost.  The price that we were quoted for an American Standard 4 ton heating and air conditioning split system was very reasonable and right in line with what our research said the cost should be for the type of system we were purchasing.

When the team of installers arrived (Luke, Matt and George) they were right on  time, very friendly, explained everything that they were going to do and answered any and all questions that we had.  They did a tremendous job and we couldn't be happier with our new HVAC system.  They filed all our paper work for us including a $500 rebate from SMUD that our system qualified for.  I thought it would take several weeks, if not months, but we got our rebate in about 14 days!!  My wife and I would highly recommend Clarke and Rush...ask for Luke's team to do the installation...you won't be disappointed.

We had our 15 windows, sliding glass door, ac, and heater replaced by Clarke & Rush a few years ago.  Their work is top quality, and we've been enjoying cool summers and toasty winters with zero problems.  I'll be contacting them again for any work we need.  Definitely recommend them to others.  Customer service is great!

We bought a new AC system from Clarke & Rush in 2010 and the system had worked well for 4 years up until last year.  In 2014 we had to call Clarke & Rush back after only 4 years to replace an ADP coil.  They claimed that the fault of the coil malfunctioning was the coil manufacturer and not them. They said that the mfr had a class action suit against them for the shoddy parts but that Clarke & Rush didn't have many other mfr's to choose from.  We were skeptical but didn't have many other choices other than to pay for the repair.  Now this year, only 1 year after paying to replace the coil, our AC system has quit cooling again.  Suspiciously, we were barely 1 month past our parts warranty period.  Our system quit working on a Friday evening and despite mutliple calls about our frustrations, Clarke & Rush  technicians say they won't be available until Tuesday, even though we have already paid to be part of an on-going maintenance contract.  The weather has been in the 100's to 90's so we know their demand is high, but we are frustrated to once again be dealing with a malfunction.  We have not had a great experience so far with Clarke & Rush's repair work. The install went well and the system initially worked well, but their long term follow up and parts replacement doesn't give their existing customers any priority.  Once you have paid for your system there seems to be zero urgency on Clarke & Rushe's part to follow up on warranty or repair issues.  If they end up correcting our issue in a reasonable amount of time, I would be willing to write them a better review.

I have used Clarke & Rush about 4 times before. But this weekend when it was super hot and my air went out they said they would send someone the next day. WELL that did NOT happen. When I called to find out when they would be here they said they overbooked, being a long term customer I feel very let down,

My heater was not blowing cold air on the hottest days of the week of June 6, 2022. I decided to give C&R a call. My neighbor highly recommended their services. I called Friday morning after 8 am and a service rep, Kurtis, was at my property earlier than expected. I had a 4-6 pm window. Kurtis arrived and told me what was needed of me and what to expect. In 20 minutes, he had successfully corrected the problem. 20 MINUTES!!!!! I was in shock and before he knocked on my door to let me know the job was done, I could feel cold air! Kurtis had to replace and install some equipment, the capacitor and hard start.  

I would highly recommend C&R. They are responsive, reliable, professional, knowledgeable and affordable.

Clarke and Rush kicks butt!! I met Brian at the grocery store. He overheard me complaining to friends about being uncomfortable in my own house! Since then Clarke and Rush has helped both of my sisters upgrade their homes with new windows, insulation, HVAC, and now ours too! Our install team led by Rod and Steve O. was the absolutle best. My sister raves about Tony V. and her new windows. I can't believe I waited so long to be comfortable in my own house but having Clarke and Rush fix everything has been worth the wait with the best experience we could've asked for! Clarke and Rush upgraded our insulation.  We had gotten a bid from another company that seemed excessive and came with a shocking price tag (BB).  Michael the Urquidez the advisor was thorough and professional, scheduling was easy.  I was not looking forward to having the insulation blown in (the mess) but Brian Seiler put down tarps, removed his shoes and Protected corners that might be at risk for contact with the hose.  He was personable professional thorough and no mess left behind. I recommend this company with its great employees to anyone.

It cooled off this weekend and we turned on the heater. It decided it wanted to short-cycle (light the burner, run for a minute or so, then shut-off, and repeat the process). We called Clarke & Rush and left a message (their only service on the weekend is emergency which sounded expensive). They did call around 8:30 on Monday and dispatched a repairman. So far, so good.

The repair guy opened the cover, looked around and offered that the unit was old, the model and serial number plate was damaged by the sun and unreadable, but if parts were available, it probably would cost over $1,300 for them and consequently we should just buy a replacement unit. He referred us to a sales person who would be contacting us, took a check for $104, and was gone. The sales guy called within 10 minutes to set up an appointment. When we didn't return his call, he called again three hours later. He wasn't happy when I told him we had called another repair company for a second opinion.

Fortunately, the second company took the time to actually diagnose the problem and determined it wasn't the heater per se, but the thermostat in the house which was malfunctioning.  The installation of a new thermostat solved the problem.

When the Clarke & Rush sales guy called again Tuesday morning I told him the problem was corrected. He still wanted to come out and sell us a new unit. Not going to happen!!!

I called the Service Manager (Kevin) to discuss the experience but I got pushed off to voice mail. I suspect I won't get a return call just like the other posters here.

If the Clarke & Rush repair guy had taken the time to actually look at the problem, there wouldn't be a problem. But his behavior makes me believe they are more interested in selling replacement units than repair. When I do need a replacement unit, I won't be calling them.

As promised, Mary Ann called me late today. The folks @ C&R looked into my experience and concluded they did a disservice to me as a consumer (their words). They apologized profusely and are returning the $104 I paid for the diagnosis of their own volition (I never asked for the refund, but would have been disappointed if they didn't offer).

It appears at least some folks @  C&R .are concerned about customer satisfaction.

never again. elderly parents. a/c went out. called to get service/repair. male answered the phone, i explained the problem. he came back to the phone & asked 20 questions like i was on trial. same questions i had already answered when i explained the problem. turns out they were more concern about getting paid then establishing a relationship with a new customer. well guess what? clarke & rush??? i did call another company who fixed the a/c, here's the best part THEY GOT PAID ON THE SPOT!!!!
you lost a customer for life. i dont have time to play games and be put on trial like a criminal.

I had called and made appt for later in the week but had to call back to have someone come immediately! They sent technician out to resolve the issue immediately and with SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MIKE.

We had Air conditioning problems.  It was almost 7 PM and Iocated Clark and Rushe phone number.  In the past, I could never find an Air Conditioning Company when I needed them.  Well -- right after 7 PM I called -- and they have an answering service who takes down all pertinent information and have the technicians call you back for an appointment early the next morning -- I think it was 7:20 AM when they called back and setup the appointment for between 12 Noon and 2 PM.  About 12:15-- I received a call telling us they would arrive any minute.  The technician - Ray - did an outstanding job.  He asked me exactly what was happening --then he went to work.  In about 30 minutes - he showed me the part that needed replacing.  He doubled checked and it did need one other part --but kept my wife and me informed -- and with cost etc.  Ray was extremely professional -- and did a super job.  Thanks again to Clarke and Rush --we will definitely use you again for future work.

We purchased a new HVAC system in 2019 from Clarke and Rush who had the best rates by far on their first bud. No having to haggle with them over price

A week ago we had a problem with our heater. We got a tech out on a Saturday who got us up and working before our Christmas party that night. The next morning on Sunday it tripped again and the tech Zach came out. He fixed the problem again, said we needed a new board but it would be probably after New Years before he could come back
The next afternoon we got a call the part was in made an appointment for the next day

Zach replaced the part got us up and working and was one of the most polite and professional techs we've dealt with. He even lobbied with the service manager on  our behalf when I expressed a concern over the charges

Definitely recommend them if you need professional service at a competitive price.

In fact one of my friends purchased a new HVAC system from them after we did on my recommendation and we're very happy with the results

I wish I had done more research on these guys.  Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.  They will come right out on a sales call but will take you months to get a routine appointment and then they will cancel it on you in a matter of minutes the day it's supposed to be performed.  I see other folks saying the same thing on here, if you miss their call they move you to the back of the route even though you had an appointment.  Our appointment was made on October 26th but because I didn't answer the phone to say I was there, they dispatched out tech to another home.  Unreal, and then try and convince you it was all your fault.  The manager who takes over has an attitude.  She's not looking to make anything right, she is looking to argue.  Will try to convince you that your inconvenience is your own fault with an attitude to boot.  Must be family or wouldn't be working there with her attitude.  Now speaking to the service manager and other than another window for another day he has nothing.  I'm just trying to get an actual appointment so we don't wait around all day for nothing like we did today but they won't do that.  Keep saying I can pull the tape for Oct 26 and you'll hear we told you we call that day.  Who remembers things like that?  Send an email.  I had an appointment and I expect you to keep it, bottom line.  I shouldn't be surprised, there were issues on the install, issues with the unit several times over the years.  Last time they came out the technician told me whoever did the last work on the unit really messed things up.  It was his own guy, he didn't realize it was their unit.  Then hit me with a huge repair bill which was greatly reduced if I bought their service plan.  I get it, it's a business and you need to make money but why not do a good job as well or at least provide some customer service.  Avoid Clarke and Rush.  
Yes Pat I get that you told us about the call we would receive 3 months prior when the appointment was set.  It was not however mentioned just a few days before when they were trying to reschedule.  It is the most ridiculous policy and thankfully not one shared by any other company I've used for other services.  Phones die, get misplaced or sometimes you just cannot answer the phone.  I called you guys back within a couple minutes of your last call and my appointment had already been cancelled. I had waited months for that appointment, paid for that appointment, made arrangements for that appointment and we were there for that appointment.  Your team was not.  That's the bottom line man.  Your team didn't show up.  Outstanding customer service sir.  Sometimes trying to do things right, you forget to do the right thing.  How about you start doing the right thing Pat?  You won't have to come in here making excuses for your crap policy.

Ugh! 94 degrees is what the thermostat read--I can tell you our panting dog was thrilled to see us, and eager to have us fix the house temp!

I called Clark and Rush at 6:45pm and Sergio arrived at 8:20! By 9:20 we were back in the cool zone!

What I appreciated is that we requested an evening emergency call--and Sergio didn't treat it as if it was just a quick fix, he was thorough, he replaced the part--that was easy, but he also gave the AC a good hosing inside and out, checked the filter inside our house and made sure that our vents were properly aligned to get the best air flow.

And--while I paid a little more for an evening call, I don't have to lose a day of work waiting for a daytime call.

Thank you to Brian, who handled the sales end of my HVAC purchase. After dealing with the HOA and Management for a month and a half, we finally had a great team of guys Serge, Eddie and Tim install a 3 ton American Standard HVAC. This is the fifth unit for our family members and us. We went with Carrier.  This is my first American Standard and my first pancake compressor. The HOA and Management would not allow placement of the compressor on the roof or on the sideyard, so we installed it in the patio. This crew was very nice and easy to work with.

Home improvement companies have a tough time.  There are a  lot who are unethical.  But our experience with this firm is opposite many of the reviews.  Three years ago our air conditioning system failed.  We solicited bids for a heating and air conditioning system.  Among the five companies we heard from Clarke and Rush had the highest level of consumer information and options.  Their salesman was the most knowledgable about all the things you need to know when buying a system.

Yesterday we had a technician do a periodic review.  He went through our system carefully and recalibrated our thermostats, cleaned our systems and generally tuned the system up.  Specifically our condensor was cleaned. At the end of the appointment the tech went through what he had done. For a twice a year service we were very satisfied.

My wife also said the office staff is helpful.  All in all we think the negative reviews are wrong based on our experience.

I had them come out and change out my water heater and I have found that Jim the service manager did a great job. It took them roughly 4 Hours to replace my water heater and I have not had a problem in the last 6 months sense it was installed.

They did not and try and push the most expensive water heater on the market. Instead They suggested a high quality water heater and it saves me on my bill every month since.

AWESOME!

I am not sure about what happened in the past with the other reviews, but they have really cleaned up their act sense then.

Needed to add insulation to the attic of our town home and Arthur and Ryan with Clarke and Rush took care of this for us.  Have to say that from the moment they stepped foot in our home, they were courteous, professional and clean!  They both were very attentive to the job at hand.

Do not use Clarke and Rush, they will rip you off.  Let me repeat, DO NOT USE CLARK AND RUSH, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

Our air conditioner went out on Saturday.  They dispatched a service technician for a service charge of $175.  Not a problem, they told us about the price of the emergency visit and I agreed.  The RIP OFF happened when the technician found the problem and charged us $296 for a $30 capacitor.  It took him three minutes to install the part.  So we ended up paying $471 for a technician to install a $30 part.  He was on our property less than 10 minutes.

When I called to complain, they said their capacitor price was taken out of a book and they defended their 1000% mark up.

DO NOT USE CLARK AND RUSH.  THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.  Use another contractor that does not abuse its customers as a matter of company policy.

I want to raise my rating and give some credit to Clark and Rush President Pat Rush who has discovered these dismal Yelp reviews and is trying to repair these customer relationships.  After a full discussion of my complaint and their outrageous parts markup policy, he apologized and agreed to refund the $266 markup.   Good to his word, the check arrived three days later.

Yet he also wanted me to be 100% satisfied with their service, which I said was impossible.  A customer can't be completely satisfied when it takes five months to get their money back.  Indeed, as any DA will tell you, they don't drop the charges if the bank robber simply apologizes and gives the money back.  I tried to resolve this matter days after the service call and the Clark and Rush office staff was adamant the prices could not change.   My complaint was about their pricing strategy and I never heard from Pat Rush that it would change.

Based upon their executive outreach and customer service, I raised my rating to three stars.  Yet I would not sign a contract for Clark and Rush to replace a part without Googling the part number and finding its market price.  If the mark up is a rip off, send them away, buy the part on line and call another company to install it.  You will still come out ahead.

Last month I was very fortunate to have Clark and Rush replace my ancient HVAC system. Everything needed replacing....my furnace, all the shredded ducting and my AC unit.  
It was a three day job, under my house and I think it rained every day.

Rusty was the lead installer, and after the tear out crew left it was just Rusty and Aaron. They arrived each morning at 8a sharp, were courteous respectful, answered any questions or concerns I had, and had the job completed by noon of the 3rd day. They were a good team.

Rusty is also a HERS Rater, which is way cool for an HVAC company to have as an employee. Saves valuable time and money when the job is completed.
My duct work was rated under the allowed 15% leakage that the California Energy commission will approve.
A huge plus in saving energy and money.

I so appreciate Clark and Rush for doing this huge job for me.....and a big THANK YOU to Rusty and Aaron for making it all come together so smoothly.....and sooner than expected!
I'm happy, I'm warm, and I know my energy efficient system will save me a ton of money through the years ahead.  Gratitude......

They replaced a 80,000 BTU furnace in our downstairs with a 60,000 BTU one. I asked why they put in a less powerful one, the lady said 'So we won't burn your hose down!' It was summer, so we couldn't really see how well it worked until winter.

So, during cold winter times, it takes about 4 hours to heat our kitchen to 72 degrees, so we eat dinner every night wearing heavy sweaters. Their fee was about $11,000. We are getting another company to replace it with a better furnace.

They lie and steal from you! Avoid them like they have the Plague!

For several years I was faced with replacing my current 28 yr old Carrier HVAC unit with the main concern what manufacturers would be the best choice so I put it a request for a contractor via Home Advisor  I was contacted by several contractors , my first appointment was with TRANE authorized  dealer resulting with a sales  rep that was stereotypical and not a good top for TRANE. I then had an appointment with Aaron from Clark&Rush who very professional, didn't  take much for me to decide since I currently had Carrier unit. My new Performane HVAC unit was installed the three Gentelmen that did the installation  work as a team with teamwork,enthusiasm , and attention that's a measure of a good company(Clark&Rush) that takes pride in there product and caring of there customers which I experienced each any every dialog  I had with all employees  a second too none company. Got 4 quotes on replacing 6 single pane windows and this group had the best price (although close to the others). Not only that but everyone from the sales guy to the installers were nice, friendly, and seemed genuine (aka. no strong sales pitch, just honest open discussion).

Installation date was delayed due to the window company creating them. The installers were nice and even helped resolve a long standing issue with one of our other windows.

Unfortunately, only once we asked about an aesthetic issue weeks later were we told that we must paint the trim and that they were sorry they forgot to tell us...easy enough for us to do (since we luckily have leftover paint) but it would have been more professional to outline any post-installation actions that must occur.

after getting many quote from many companies i called the sales person and let him know what i really needed /desired and said he needed to sharpen his pencil. that is when he became a sales jerk. i am in sales but i have the fortune to not need to push for unwanted unneeded product. with this being said he should of just said let me see what I can do. If he cannot do then that is the way it is. But as others can do I thought i would give him a chance. There are sales people who do good for the customer and then there are greedy low life think of nothing but themselves sales jerks. Being he represents the companies front door I am glad I did not enter into their house.

Thank you to the professional Clarke & Rush team for giving us consistent heat in every room of our home for the first time in almost 50 years. Previously, the temperature between 2 areas of our home varied almost 10 degrees, with the area furthest from the heater too warm in summer & too cold in winter.  Now, not only is air flow greater & the temperature the same in each room, but AC air is colder & heater air warmer than it has ever been.  We no longer need to use a plug in heater or fan as we have for decades.

Brian, the salesman, saw our floor vents were not sealed properly & assessed our needs.  He recommended the unit best for us. Clarke & Rush installers sealed vent edges & thoroughly inspected & repaired the ducts under our home, something not done by the company who installed our previous unit.  

Brian, Rusty & Tony professionally installed a new unit.  The combination of new technologies & their professional, highly skilled work made our home more comfortable using less energy.  Brian & Rusty added new wiring to accommodate our new smart thermostat.

The days are getting hotter, so of course my AC broke. I have had my air conditioner/heater serviced for years by this company, but even then, I was so impressed with how quickly and efficiently this job was completed. In about 3 days, this team installed, tested, and even brought 3rd parties in to make sure it was done correctly. They definitely went above and beyond. Everything was handled so superbly. Huge shoutout to Warren and his team. They got the job done, and they are so friendly. I usually get nervous about people entering my home, but they did a wonderful job of showing they care and they made this workspace a comfortable environment for both me and my two fur babies. 10/10, I can't and won't recommend anyone else. Clark & Rush installed a split system at my home.  Furnace in the attic space and the Condenser outside.

Here we go:  
They were late.  They promise an early start time.
They removed the old furnace plywood platform and leaned it up against the wall and scratched the wall up.  I had to repaint the wall.
They scratched up the attic access and left black hand and finger prints all over.  I couldn't remove the hand and finger prints so I had to repaint the attic access.  
They left black finger prints all over the new thermostat.  I can't clean it.  It's stained.
They left sheet metal screws in the drive way.  One punctured one of my wife's tires.  I had to get a new tire.
The office said they would expedite my paper work so I would be able to submit my forms for the Cash for Appliance Program.  That did not happen.  They don't know what expedite means.  I lost the opportunity for a $1000 rebate.
The office said they would call in the final inspection for me.  That did not happen.
The office did not take down the old model numbers needed for the Rebate program nor inform me I needed to go into the attic and take them down myself.
They did not finish the Condenser test because it was too cold.  They needed to come back and tent the unit and simulate a summer climate.  They fabricated data on the Certificates for the building inspector.

This company is terrible.  STAY AWAY FROM CLARK & RUSH!!!

We just had central air installed and we are so pleased. The team from Clarke & Rush was phenomenal. Steve, Paris, and Billy were clean, tidy, professional, friendly, and kind. They were early every morning but never knocked before 8a. They were friendly & tolerant of our friendly & barking dog. They explained everything we asked about, cleaned up every day, and finished on time. I can't think of a complaint or critique. We couldn't be happier. I might even miss these guys tomorrow ...

We needed gutters - who knew Clark & Rush is really a one stop shop for most home remodel needs.  We had estimates ranging from $15K to $2500.  What sold me initially was meeting and interacting w/ Tony.  No sales pitch - just the facts - informative facts re: gutters. They aren't complicated and I liked his honest assessment of how the work would be done and his estimate was perfect.  

He got everything set up and was communicative.  The crew - Jason & Ryan - 10 stars guys!!!!  They were @ our home 1.5 days and did a great job.  I would go out, chat w/ Jason about the job every few hours.  He was very specific and open about the job, what stage they were at etc.  What I really liked is having 2 contractors around our home that I felt totally comfortable with and they knew what they were doing and worked well together in a very efficient manner.  All 3 men are an asset to this company.

Clark & Rush installed 2 new HVAC systems in my home 10 years ago. Recently I was having trouble with the Carrier Infinity thermostat and I called them to ask a few questions. They could not let me talk to anyone but would only send out a technician for $89 to answer my questions.

I called Comfort Masters, a local carrier dealer, that I used to replace a compressor and Donna answered my question/issue in 3 minutes on the phone. I do not need a technician at all.

I dropped semi annual service with C&R due to issues with their office staff many years ago. I thought that they may have changed but sees that they are still very difficult to deal with for service. I will never use them again for anything.

Our Air Conditioning went out on Tuesday.  After waiting 2 days and getting a sketchy quote from another repair company, I asked my husband to get a 2nd opinion.

We found Clarke and Rush online, and they were able to send someone out immediately (within 2 hours).  After testing out our motor with a new capacitor which didn't work- Ray the repair man was able to determine that we did in fact need a new blower motor, and quoted us less than half of what the other company tried to charge!  We were pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to pay the outrageous amount we thought we were going to.  They also went out of their way to find us our part and install it the very next day, even though they didn't have one in stock.  
Ray also went the extra mile by calling and having someone look into our warranty information (we are new homeowners and didn't have a clue!)  they called back right away with the details (it was like pulling teeth trying to get this help from the other company, who couldn't ever give us a straight answer!)

Long story short- we are very happy with Clarke and Rush- their customer service was outstanding and we very much appreciated the great price we got on our part.  We will definitely be signing up for their annual service plan.

Our attic needed new insulation and we needed a new HVAC system , so being new to NORCAL we looked into solar at the same time. After carefully talking with many companies I went with Clarke & Rush. That was in September when we first started looking at products and doing a house analysis. Its now the week before Christmas and I still don't have solar.
Very happy with the work in my attic and with the mini split installed, the rest has been an unprofessional joke. One excuse after another, lack of communication and follow through with work and promises. We've had 3 different installation dates cancelled. They even lied and told us they didnt have permits...we had the ok from the city for the work all ready. If it wasn't for the end of the the and the IRS rebates..... I would run quickly else where.
Working in a business that is customer service oriented......they failed from top to bottom.
Go else where and don't waste your time like we've been doing for 3 months.

Clarke and Rush installed a new heater and air conditioner at my house recently. They sent out two crews so that my system could be completed in one day. They showed up on time and were very professional. They went right to work and were finished by 1:30. The heater is much quieter than my previous unit. The price was better than the other two bids I had gotten. Very pleased with the outcome. Hope the air conditioner works as well as the heater!

I've dealt with these guys at two different locations and they will do anything to get you a new air conditioning unit, even lie.  At one house, Clarke and Rush insisted I need to buy a new unit, so I got a second opinion who refused to sell me a new unit and fixed it for $159 and guaranteed the unit for a couple more years.  At the second house, my air conditioning was working fine, but they told me I needed a new unit. After installing the new unit, I learned the new unit also could not keep up and a part broke, to boot.  At the end of the day, I'm out $8k and there is absolutely no improvement in my quality of life.

Brian Webb is amazing! After I had a bad experience with another company that treated me like I wasn't worth anything , I called Clarke & Rush they didn't answer the phone so I start thinking I guess nobody will call me then mr. Webb called me set up an appointment for the next day which was Tuesday at 8 in the morning he showed up at 7:57 in the morning on Tuesday on time! I appreciate that my time is very valuable just like everyone else is.
He told me that someone will be here on Wednesday the 21st to bring me a portable air conditioner until we get the air conditioner installed. It was a little mix-up I started getting disappointed so I called Brian he called me right back but I had already talked to the office and they sent someone over here within 10 to 15 minutes with the air conditioner that was so amazing!
All I can say is good things about this company if they are this efficient with the air conditioner unit that they will be installing this is the best all I can do is praise this company and definitely will recommend this company to anyone who has any issues with the air conditioning unit thank you Brian Webb for all that you have done for me and my family building with the air conditioning going out in the Dead Heat

We decided to take advances of low APR and a rapid increase in home value and refinance our home to make some much needed improvements on our 26 year old home. So we decided that we definitely needed new windows as well as an HVAC system.

I began making calls to several companies back in June, in the area, who did both as well as ones that did each individually. I honestly got quotes from  6 different companies. 3 of which did both... so why, despite being a bit more expensive did I go with Clarke and Rush... well for many reasons. #1, as most women can probably relate. Brian came out on June 14, treated me with the utmost respect. Never once did I feel like he was treating me any different than he would any male, he was funny, respectful and explained just enough. Now I know I some people will be like really? but I had FOUR QUOTES before them and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM treated me as less than, I cannot explained how shocked I was at all the reps before Brian were very much preoccupied with explaining to me how things worked and were very much concerned about talking to my husband before making a decision.  But that's another story...

So even after having a few more quotes, I felt very confident in having Clarke & Rush do the job. I even proposed a price match which was agreed upon. I also decided to get a whole house fan... totally unsolicited... but TOTALLY WORTH IT! (seriously, get a whole house fan!)

Brian was great, he was in constant contact. We shared our love of craft beer and the Giants. Tony was great as well, he came out to do all of the specific measurements of all our windows. He got sick before he was supposed to come out but was always in contact to let us know and made sure to re-schedule when was convenient to us.

The guys ( I feel terrible that I don't remember their names!) showed up 2 weeks later and right on time for our HVAC installation and whole house fan installation. They were so thorough, friendly, VERY clean and respectful. I also had no idea that I would laugh as much as I did. Seriously, they were hilarious.

When it came time to get our windows installed, again, they were right on time. Super respectful and again super funny. They were SO EFFICIENT! I honestly was super concerned about my cats, who are very shy and my dogs who get stressed out easily. But the guys were all super respectful, efficient and animal lovers. One of the first things asked was how our animals were going to handle it, they were very mindful of making sure that our animals were taken care of and they made a plan accordingly, instantly making me feel at ease. I appreciate that honestly, more than you anyone knows. Everything with well, quickly  and smoothly except for ONE WINDOW! Omg! But we were warned about that, it was send incorrectly but the manufacturer.  I thought at first Well, who cares, maybe it will work. Im pretty flexible but unfortunately it was super weird so I was like, No, please correct this. I was assured it would be re-ordered and they would install it ASAP, in a few weeks. But seriously only like 2 weeks later it was installed and just as I had pictured it.

In summary, I guess my review is that they aren't perfect, no one is, but seriously they were very committed to the customers experience. Mistakes happen, they're human, we're all human but they were constantly in contact, followed through with what they promised and delivered thoroughness and then some. Clarke &  Rush went above and beyond in many aspects, treated me with respect and obviously care about their customers. I spent a lot or $$ on an AC, furnace, Whole House  Fan and 8 windows and 1 slider. They treated me very well. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys. Very respectful, mindful, thorough and hilarious!

I had a month long debacle with Beutler in the 107 degree heat wave in Sacramento and needed rescued from the heat. All Beutler wanted to do was sell me a new unit. We have a very expensive unit installed originally by Beutler and should not have to be replaced after 8 years. Clarke & Rush came in, were professional, exceptionally fast, and handled us with great care and integrity. Dustin & Luke came in to save what Beutler had incorrectly done in the past (more my observation than theirs - they did not trash talk, it was from my own observation). I would highly recommend Clarke & Rush!!!

Not too impressed by this company at all! The service tech came out quickly I'll give them that... but I was charged over $190 to access the unit. Granted there was a wasp's nest in the unit... but instead of letting me know that they were going to charge me $90 to remove the Wasps with spray. When they could have just told me that I needed to remove the Wasps  before they could assess the unit.The service estimate was for over $650 (269.00 for cleaning the coils with compressed air, 269.00 for cleaning the intake fan, 105.00 for the service tech to come out) and in the initial verbal estimate there was no mention of the 90.00+ dollars to spray the wasps... if I would have chosen to use this company... I would have been so upset considering I found another company that did it for$150. It seems to me that this company is more targeted at marketing and flat rate pricing ... which means they are designed to stick it to the people that are entrusting them to help them ! The flat rate pricing and marketing specialists refer to it as BUILDING VALUE  I PERSONALLY SEE IT AS SNOW BLOWING !!!

I just had my new HVAC system installed today by Clarke and Rush and I am extremely happy with it! The whole process of getting the quote, financing and install was painless. Clarke and Rush came in at 50% less than another company that is all over the TV and radio commercials. I am a single mom and every penny counts in my home. They replaced a 34 year old system that didn't work well when it was above 90 degrees outside and I could never get my home below 82 degrees. My home is 70 degrees right now and its a little too chilly so I need to raise the temp a bit. I am just so happy that it will actually go to any temp that I want it to and just in time for the next heat wave!

If you care about your hard earned money as much as I do and you want exceptional honest service then you should contact Clarke and Rush. At least do your homework and get several bids from different companies so you know you are picking the right company. That is exactly what I did and I am extremely happy so far with my decision. I will be sure to update my review should anything change but for now I love it!

And 1 more thing, I really hope my review isn't filtered seeing as how I am a real person who paid real money to this company and I am giving my honest opinion. Its rather irritating to see that all the good reviews for this company have been filtered and only the bad ones remain. It really makes me second guess this review site and if I can really get an honest review on a company. For all you know someone was so ticked off at this company that they flagged all the good reviews. Well just so you know I read all of your bad reviews and I still chose this company because if the amazing service I was given before I was even a paying customer and yes they earned my business. Not a lot of other companies will go that extra mile but this company did and it was truly a great experience. And all other future customers of this company deserve to be able to read both the good and the bad reviews so they can make the best decision on what is right for their home.

I feel I've been more than patient, so am updating/downgrading my review.  I ordered all new windows,  a sliding door and a mini-split heat/ac unit.   They came out and measured,  said there may  be an issue with the bathroom window, would let me know and never got back to me about it.  Windows arrive about 3 weeks later, installed the first week of October.  The installation went fine on everything until they said they were finished.  The bathroom window was not replaced, so I asked why and the lead installer,  Chris, called the office to see why- the window had been 'crossed off the purchase order.'  What the?  Chris said it must have been an error and they will get it ordered right away and will install it on my schedule since it was their error. Ok.  A couple of days later I get voicemail from the salesman,  Brian, stating that when they were here measuring, he told me they couldn't get the window and I must have not heard him in the confusion of the day.  Also said that the manufacturer cannot make that window size so not gonna happen, no can do,  hope you like the windows and have a nice day.  
After several emails, that issue was straightened out, the window was ordered and I was told 3-4 weeks, that it may be a little longer since this is a different manufacturer.  TEN weeks later with me having to call them to find out the status,  the window finally showed up.  When the installer got here, he told me they measured the window wrong, it's too big but he would make it work.  He cut my shower tiles and forced the window in.  I didn't attempt to use the window until a couple of days later,  and found it was really difficult to open and close, it sticks and won't move smoothly. There is no screen.  Really?  An item you can build in under 10 minutes for very little cost...
I called Dec 6 and left a message for Tony, the manager of window installations.  He called back Dec 11, and left a message.  He said he'll have someone call to schedule the installer back out here to take care of it.  I have heard nothing since then.
Customer service is a huge issue with me.  I strive to provide excellent customer service in my profession,  my employer insists on that and so do I.  A lot of balls were dropped here and at this point I would not recommend using this company for windows.  The mini-split has been ok so far, and I hope that if there are any issues it will be handled much better.  I left 3 stars because only half of this experience has been unpleasant and frustrating.

Updating my recent review. There was a misunderstanding over the pricing for my recent service and the Service Manager Justin called me to address the issue. It turns out that after pricing was corrected, Clarke & Rush was much better pricing than other competitor's quotes. I will definitely be using them again in the future. Thanks Justin!

I have to disagree with other reviews I've seen for this company.  We always do our homework and collect a minimum of three bids and this we did on our HVAC purchase as well.  HVAC can be tricky if you don't have the knowledge of how and where to place the unit to gain optimum performance.  We already had one bid in hand when I was researching online and came upon Clarke & Rush.  Almost immediately our Estimator Mark popped up on my screen offering an online chat.  I had the time and so we chatted and I found him to have the knowledge required to answer my questions on the spot.  I also felt comfortable speaking with him because I  immediately felt like we were on the same page.  I scheduled a face to face Estimate with Mark.  This was the beginning of what I consider one of our best decisions - While the other bid was much higher I did not share price with Mark.  He listened to what we were looking for in a system and we went from there.  Mark mentioned something no one else had mentioned and it was a great recommendation - removing all of the existing duct work and installing new, plus changing where the main box was located, adding a vent and making sure all rooms in the house were balanced for optimum performance.  Yes we took advantage of the PG&E and SMUD rebate programs but I'm sure our energy bills will also reflect a savings.  

Clarke and Rush have amazing staff who work well as teams and sincerely know what they are doing!  We had Dustin and Luke as our HVAC installers and those guys worked really hard but they work well as a team too!  The duct work was 50 years old so I am glad we replaced that!  They placed a centrally located box in the attic that controls the dampers to the whole house.  They were very pleasant, and did an excellent job.  Mark our Estimator even dropped back by to check on the job.  How often do you ever see the Estimator again -- ever?  The Quality Assurance Manager was out at the beginning  of the job and again near the end of the job to check on things -- this was Mike.  On our last day we had new insulation blown into the attic, while these guys were only on-site for a few hours we could tell that they (Brian & Art) also worked well as a team.  

In the end we have an awesome optimal unit that we obtained at a fair price.  We have a 2 year warranty but I doubt we will need to use it.  Our home is very comfortable -- in every room.  So I disagree with any of these negative yelps.  That's the problem these days - more people complain than take the time to acknowledge and compliment.  I make it a point to do both.  Clark & Rush deserve the highest rating ever -- A++  
On one last note I have to say that if a unit needs a service call I'm sure many of these  companies know where to start and will do right by you.  The first company I came out was supposed to e for an air conditioning tune-up.  A week later my husband was out cleaning the coils and found that air was blowing on his feet and not out the top as it should.  It had been a week before we noticed it.  We called that company back and the supervisor/manager corrected the wiring error.  Meanwhile they had gotten their foot in the door and had some slick salesman calling on us trying to sell us a unit with more bells and whistles than you can believe.    Clarke and Rush did not do this -- They LISTENED to us and what our goal was and where our problem areas were and we went from there.  

And to the people who are Yelping over being charged $400 when the guy changed out something in just a few minutes, I'm not sure you understand how things work.  When you take your car into the shop for a brake job -- the tech might finish in 1 1/2 hours but the book says it is a four hour job so whether you realize it or not -- You are charged four hours labor.  This is nothing new.  Although it was nice of Mr Rush to attempt to rectify things so you would feel more comfortable about your transaction.  The company is very credible and has an excellent reputation.  If you do feel wronged - you really should talk to the manager or owner before yelping about them..

Always get three bids. Needed to replace my 25 year old HVAC system, and upgrade my insulation. Was looking for companies that had been in the Sacramento Area for decades, large company's, multiple services, commercial and residential. There aren't that many. The best bid and equipment prices, Clarke and Rush, ask for Mark Thyne, for a quote. Want to thank Rod the Project Manager and his follow up also. Upstairs is a split system, and downstairs a package system, they brought a crane and they completed the HVAC installation in one day! Their Lead Luke, and his crew, a joy, fun to watch professionals work. The Insulation Installation crew Art, and Ryan, just pro's. Highly recommend.

We were remodeling our house during the worst heat wave in years. Also was getting quotes for a new A/C unit as our old one kept us in the top 1% of least efficient energy users in the neighborhood. Another vendor came in, gave us a 2 hour sales presentation and quoted a system that was an unrealistic 4-ton system for our house. The Clarke & Rush rep, Mark, came to our house, spent half an hour in our house, came back the next day with a professional packet of information and quote for a split system consisting of a 3-ton unit for the main part of the house and a 1 tone ductless unit for a large add-on (that was always hot during the summer and cold in the winter).  Aside from being the best solution, the quote was $2000 less than the competitor. Then came the installation, which was complicated by the fact that we needed a new electrical panel added because our old one was much too small for our house. The electrical contractor retained by Clarke and Rush was amazing. It took him half a day for the install, which included new wiring through our incredibly hot attic. (This was also included in the cost.) The A/C installers , Dustin and Luke, also came that morning to start. By the next day the unit for the main part of he house was up and running and by mid-day, we were finally cool! Then the following day they had the additional unit done. They were professional and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves, helped us program the new system and best of all we now have a system that cools the entire house efficiently. We were so happy with their service and work, we used them for a plumbing problem as well, where Scott  properly fixed a clogged drain that another company failed to handle(watch out when a plumber says he can't guarantee it will unclog-then why am I paying you to be here?). I highly recommend Clarke and Rush and would definitely use them again. We are a happy family now!

Had my insulation blown in my attic today and it was great! Arthur and Ryan were on time and were very nice, especially to my dog Lucy. She just loves company. They protected my furniture and worked very quickly. It's nice to have work done by professionals that are also kind as people and animals. The whole process working with Clark and Rush for my windows was excellent. Tony Vann gave me a quote and we worked through several versions as I was trying to compare similar windows with other companies.

On the day of installation, Chris and Tristan, arrived on time, reviewed the job, and placed plastic around my furniture before removing the windows. I was in and out of the house while they worked, feeling very comfortable while I was gone. By the end of the day, I had new windows, no trace of the old windows, and my house was as clean as it was before.

Had a new A/C unit installed today... Clarke and Rush was outstanding all along. The pricing was done right there at my house by Blake a week ago. No need to email me anything which was a change from another company. We agreed on the unit, called them, and scheduled for today. Steve and Billy showed up right at the agreed time, and performed the job flawlessly, answering my questions all along without an issue. They covered the walking areas and left like nothing happened (except my new A/C unit and coil). I'm very satisfied with their work and the unit is so quiet that I can't tell it's running except for the nice cool air inside the house. Thank you Clarke and Rush!

My ac went out, and trying to find someone to help me and be honest about it..... Well, has been very trying! I spoke with Clarke and Rush energy consultant, Brian! He was very knowledgable and friendly! He calmed me down and let me know there was hope! This morning, right on time, my installers came! Steve and Billy were fantastic! They were fast and efficient! They knew what they were doing and kept everything clean and neat! They made everything so easy and tested everything before they left to make sure I was comfortable again! They went out of their way to make sure all my questions were answered! They even made sure I had smoke detectors at no extra cost! What kind of company takes care of their customers like this? Thank you guys for making this way easier than I thought it was going to be! Yay!! My house is cool again!

We chose wisely by having Clarke & Rush install our air conditioner and heater. Serge and Tim were the rock stars that handle the majority of the project and they did it seamlessly.  Besides being professional and knowledgeable they were quiet and possess a honest work ethnic that is greatly appreciated. This company is the BEST!  They installed new good quality windows in my home that not only look great but  cut out the outside noise and are energy savers.  Thanks to Tony we got a good price, he made a special trip back to help explain the lock to me and even had a crew return a few months later to reinstall a trim style I preferred at no extra cost.  I couldn't be happier with this company!

I just had my Carrier Heat Pump and ducting installed by Clark and Rush. The 17 year old system, had posed some challenges to replace There was some thinking outside of the box, by Tony and Tobiah, to install the new system. I was very impressed by the knowledge and capability, to step up to the challenges posed. Attention to detail, was impeccable. The pride, in their workmanship to do the job correctly, was most obvious.
T and T were very Respectful and conscious about there cleanliness and also about, not damaging my home. It was extremely appreciated. I will be recommending Clark and Rush!

Gabriel and Dominick came to our home to repair a freon leak in our air conditioning unit.  They were professional and effective in repairing the unit and in testing it after the repairs were completed.  They also gave us excellent advice in how to obtain a free extended warranty on the replacement parts.  They completed the job in excellent time and left the job site in clean order.  They are certainly a Five Star team and I would have them back again for any maintenance or repairs on our heating and air conditioning system.  Great job, guys!

Oh my God!

Our a.c. unit went out! You don't really appreciate your a.c. unit until it goes out on a weekend of over 100° outside.

We were able to keep it below 90° in the house.... thank goodness(I know, haha....)but my father in law opened up the old fashioned phone book, came across Clarke & Rush, and gave them a call. They were swamped with simular issues, so they were able to make it out the next day between 3-5.

Jon walked up to our door just before 4. Nice guy, dressed professional. He spoke to us briefly about what was going on and he was off into the heat. Worst case scenario, it was going to cost over $600 :-()

After being outside for quite a while we offered him an ice cold bottled water.
Jon was so nice and appreciative the entire time he was here... and we were the ones getting serviced and so thankful that he made it out.

Clarke and Rush installed my first HVAC system 20 years ago and that system worked really well but it was time for a new one. I got the usual bids from local companies but no one could match Clarke and Rush on price. Mark Thyne was our rep and as it turns out he sold us our first system 20 years ago. That says a lot about the stability of this company that he is still there after all these years. The install crew was great, clean and fast. Dealt with one emergent problem with nothing more than a not a problem at all statement. Thanks to Clarke and Rush for a first rate job!

I'm not giving any star because we have had nothing but trouble from day 1 our unit has never worked right. We called to let them know our unit sounded like a whale had to wait for the part to come in and they tried to charge us a service fee even though the service person told us this was happening to all of their units. Now today or is over 90 degrees so we decided to turn it on and it doesn't work again only blowing hot air. They are probably going to try to charge us and I'm just about to take them to court! I just can't stand when big name companies can't do the right work or back it up!! So sad. Oh they proved me wrong they came and fixed the problem and the technician was very friendly.

We have been long time patrons of Clark and Rush at 4411 Auburn Boulevard in Old Foothill Farms. We pay extra to have them come out twice a year and check our unit over, once in the fall and again in the spring . We made the fall appointment over a month ago and it was scheduled for October 11th 2020 which is tomorrow. Today, 11/10 at 4:35 p.m. they called to cancel our appointment so they could give it to somebody who was without heat. They charge people extra money to do an emergency call so they are making more money on the emergency calls then maintaining our unit. Calling at the 11th hour is extremely gutless, the morals of an alley cat and completely unprofessional! Do NOT give this or any Clark and Rush business because they are swindlers!

The money grubbing secretary then tried to guilt me for not being charitable when they are the ones scoring money off of emergency. She's scheduled us for an appointment on December 14th which is more than a month away. I was actually told that if our unit breaks then we can call and get on the emergency list! If I am getting an appointment 30 or more days in advance then the people calling in for an emergency is getting the same amount of time to wait for them to come fix their unit. We are on a six-m onth service plan so that our air conditioner or our heater will not break down. This is highway robbery and they are happily screwing us and charging people and arm and a leg for an emergency call.

Do not use this Clark and rush and I highly recommend you don't use any of them because we have had to replace our unit that was installed 5 years ago 100% And they didn't give us a price break or anything! Last year a man came out to service are heating unit and did not connect a connection correctly and it leaked all through the wall and when we called for somebody to come out they made us wait and when the man came this time he told us what the last guy forgot to do but they still charged us an emergency visit when it was their fault! This Clark and Rush office does shawty work and does not stand behind there product! I am now going to message them and let them know they should read Yelp and see this review!

I could not be a happier customer today!  We had a professional, courteous thorough tech named Jon W. come out and he by far was one of nicest people I've met not only from Clarke & Rush but other techs that we have had come from other companies prior to becoming their customers.  I feel confident that this winter our heater will be keeping us toasty warm. ​The day before the appt, it was okay ​that they called to reconfirm the appointment​. HOWEVER remembering from a previous appointment -- when they call you ​the day of the appt and you do not respond, they will cancel your appointment. With that thought in mind I specifically said I've confirmed it today and I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow I will not be home until just a few minutes before the appointment. So I will not be able to answer my home phone. And I have a problem ​answering​ my cell phone because ​I'm at a meeting, appt or something--plus ​I have it on mute. So please don't cancel my appointment. I will be there. When the appointment time arrived Sergio came within the 2-hour window of time.​ ​​The heating maintenance visit was professionally handled. ​

I​ don't know of any other business that will cancel your appt if you don't answer their call on the day of the appt. I don't think they used to operate this way.

Another negative, they're raising their rate for heating and air conditioning maintenance service.​

Overall, we are very pleased with our new windows. This is our second job done by Clarke & Rush - the other was attic insulation, and we are fully satisfied.

I worked with Tony on the 7 windows we needed replaced in our home. Never felt sales pressured to buy from them and I priced them up against a couple of others. Everyone's quote came back pretty close so I decided on C&R because of Tony. He left me with a brochure, not a PowerPoint presentation and he had a clear confidence, almost admiration as to the skill of the installers, Nick and Chris. Now that we have our new windows I see why. They did a great job and didn't skimp on fixing the dry rot areas around the windows. Our windows are beautiful, sound proof and that same day we experienced how much warmer our home stayed. Had to turn the heater down as a matter of fact. If you're looking for windows...this is the place.

We just had a regular maintenance visit with everything found to be in good condition. The common connection was wired for the second floor HVAC system in order to install a WiFi thermostat. The convenience of having WiFi control is truly helpful. Thanks.

Our A/C went on the fritz yesterday, towards evening, blowing out the dreaded hot air.  We called Clarke & Rush when they first opened and the very nice lady on the phone was courteous and was able to schedule us for an appointment this morning.  Jon W. came out towards the START of our two hour window (after they called to give us a heads up he was coming) and was just AWESOME!!!!  Jon was very friendly, informative, knowledgeable and great to help us work through what was up!!  He was not high pressure, leaving us to ponder everything he told us!!  Fortunately, our system has some life still in it and only need a part replaced, but we feel very comfortable calling them in the future, if we are in a pinch!!

Clarke and Rush installed a new HVAC system in January 2013.  After 4 years, the air conditioner has not working; resetted the circuit breakers and number of times, fan was moving,  but no contact.  I called on 9/2/2017, 10:03 PM, and spoke to the answering service and was told a technician would call about in the hour.  No call backs were done.  On 9/3/2017, 8:22 AM, the answering service, Stephanie, told me that Clarke and Rush is not taking any new messages until Tuesday.  All well.  Because of warranty issues, I have to wait until a possible Tuesday appointment. Saturday and Sunday temperatures over 100 degrees.

I've been holding off writing this review for a little while just to make sure it wasn't all too good to be true, and waiting for something to go wrong... but nothing has!

We bought our home this January, and the HVAC was garbage from the very first day. We went through the home warranty folks again and again to try and get our ancient p.o.s. up to par, and they sent incompetent people, 1 after the other.

Needless to say, we'd had enough! It was the hottest Summer since I could remember, and we were dying inside. The problem was... we couldn't afford to just drop the kind of money we needed to upgrade our 45 year old HVAC system.

After we put a call in to our lender (an honest man that we trusted) to bash the home warranty folks for their awful treatment of our situation, he gave us the name of someone he considered an honest, trustworthy person to help us out: Bryan, with Clark & Rush.

As a natural cynic, I was waiting for this guy to come over and try to sell us... but he never did. He listened to us drone on about our warranty problems; he evaluated our system and our needs; and provided us with an honest, fair, bank account friendly set of options to bring our archaic HVAC into the present.

Right away we trusted Bryan completely. We even gave him the keys to our place so they could install the system while we were out of town!

His team did an excellent, highly professional, job of removing our old system and installing the new one, complete with custom fabrication so that the air handler would work optimally within the existing cabinet restrictions. He even followed up with us several times to make sure we were completely happy with the product and its performance.

I cant say enough about Bryan, his team, and Clark & Rush... and I DO NOT hand out compliments easily!!

Long overdue review!...We had two dozen windows and a sliding glass door replaced by Tony and his crew.  They were just outstanding.  From the time we did the initial quote to the finish was as smooth as you could ask for in the construction industry.  We were given the option of retrofit or new build.  We went with the new build, which is replacing the frame wood and installing new windows...Wow, what a different look from our neightbors' retrofit.  During the work some dry rot was discovered not related to the windows and they replaced the wood with no hassle at all.  The work was great, the price was right, and we would highly recommend C&R to you.

I recently had some work done by Clarke&Rush/Garick.  I was having some intermittent problems with my heating system.  They had to come out multiple times and I was initially dissatisfied with some of their billing for these trips, and I let them know as much.
I was pleased to get an immediate contact from the company and worked with Gina to resolve every issue I had.  I am continuing to use Clarke&Rush/Garick for my HVAC needs because I believe they stand behind their goal of 100 percent customer satisfaction.

Needed new AC/heating.  Called Clarke and Rush, spoke with Julie who wanted to expedite my request since I didn't have AC and Mark was sent out to evaluate and give me a bid.  Very thorough and easy to work with, not to mention, the best price by far out of 3 bids.
Today, Luke along with Matt and George came to install my new system.  Very professional, worked well together, great explanations of what was happening by Luke throughout the project.

We had warranty replacement done on an AC coil on 10/5.  Tony and George did an excellent job on the replacement and we are good to go again.  Earlier, Zack did a great job on finding the problem in the coil as well.  Highly recommend!

Terrible!!! they just flushed down a 11 window job down the toilet!!!!!
Tried making an appt monday, they said they weren't available until next month, we decided to look elsewhere  because we need the job done asap, they call us back and say they can squeeze us in the next day (Tuesday, yesterday), Tuesday comes, 1 hour before appt they cancel. They said can we reschedule for Wednesday (today) we said ok. (Mind you we live 2 hours away this is our rental property so we drove 2 hours to get here and 2 hours to get back home both days to make the appt time) so we're here Wednesday 30 minutes early. The time comes we call and ask if they are coming because we haven't heard from them yet, they say they are running late, we'll it's 7:30pm and no one has shown up!!!!!! Driving home now thanks for wasting our time gas and money!!!!! Do not call this place if ur looking for reliability and good business people, not even a call or can we reschedule again instead of having us waste our time!

Isaac came out to repair a leaking hot water heater hose and on/off valve. Did a fantastic job and was done quickly. He then went above and beyond by agreeing to cap off our sprinkler system and move our water spigot to a more convenient spot that we'd been wanting to do but didn't know when/how it would get done. Fair prices and very friendly customer service. I highly recommend Clarke & Rush for a wide range of your home repair or maintenance needs. I removed one star just because we were hoping for a better discount since we are literally having C&R install an entire new HVAC system the same time their plumber was there. We are paying so much for the HVAC, we'd hoped for a better one time discount on the emergency hot water heater repair at the very least. Isaac said he was giving us a discount but later showed me their price breakdown and the price he quoted us was the same as what they'd usually charge for the job. So that's where he could have earned that last star but fell short.
This doesn't change my mind about using Clarke & Rush in the future though! We'll be returning customers for sure.

Clarke & Rush technicians have always been very forthcoming in their advice, opinions on service choices & explanations on exactly what they were doing & why. I've always felt they had my best interests in mind not trying to make the most money for the company.   The periodic service calls are definitely worth the price. They were able to catch several problems before they caused AC/heat failure & before warranted parts were out of manufacturers warranty.
I would definitely call them for their advice & estimate on any AC/heating jobs or problems.

In the process of the installers taking down my shutters to do my window install they damaged and broke many of my shutters ! And even one of my larger shutters came crashing down on one of the installers head and the shutter smashed onto my wood floors. I spoke with the lead installer and he said, taking down the homeowners shutters was a courtesy and not their job I couldn't believe I was told that and immediately called their Supervisor Tony about the ordeal. He was able to credit me the cost for the repair of my shutters that Budget Blinds did for 1200.00 dollars. After this fiasco, I HAD to reach out to Tony for some compensation for the time and scheduling it took away for me to get my shutters replaced. He finally was able to do so after getting an approval from the owner. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone for their total disrespect to the homeowners property and the unprofessionalism of the installers !!

Clarke & Rush responded promptly to my after hours call. It wasn't an immediate emergency (thank you house fans and Delta breeze), but I got a call back the next morning to follow up with my initial call.
I was able to get an appointment for the following day with a promise to call in case any technicians had availability to come out sooner.
To my great surprise, I got a call a few hours later with a cancellation!
The technician, Jass V., was very nice and patient with me while I walked through my AC system and furnace unit. Jass explained the problem, the cost to fix it and even showed me how to clean all of the parts to the electric filter system!
Thank you to Jass, Megan, and everyone else at  Clarke & Rush who helped get the AC back on!!!

The AC went out in our rental unit, knowing its the peak time for AC issues due to the heat I was thinking it was going to be a long wait for a repair. Much to my surprise it was only a 2 day wait. Clarke called to let me know when the technician was on his way and gave me an approximate eta. The technician, Jon W, was a professional right from the start. From greeting me outside, to performing a thorough inspection and diagnosis all the while explaining to me what he is doing. Once the issue was found, he explained the situation and my options. Once he replaced the capacitor the compressor begin to work again. Jon then continued to monitor the system for 10-15 minutes to verify that this system was running as it should and all things performing within the proper specification. Jon W. did a great job technically as well as from a Customer Service perspective.

We had an energy survey done by two companies, one of which was Clarke and Rush.  Clark and Rush's bid for replacement of A/C, furnace, insulation, etc was cheaper and much more professional because it itemized the charges and specified exactly what equipment would be installed.  They did everything in a timely manner and applied for the applicable rebates.  While there was a minor billing mixup, that was eventually corrected.  

That was not all, however.  When my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren flew in from Australia in winter, we had a power imbalance that night which burned out multiple electrical appliances, including the furnace. When I called Clarke and Rush, they sent someone out the next day.  They said that they had to order a replacement part, which would take several days.  The technician, however, got the company to do a rush order on the part, which arrived and he installed the next day.  Thus, we had our heat back on with 1 1/2 days of the electrical disaster.   Furthermore, they covered all of the work and the replacement part under the warranty; we were not out of pocket for any of the furnace repair.   I highly recommend Clarke and Rush.

Great experience !!  Had  shower faucet that would not shut off .   Called an A1 Plumbing but Clark and Rush  answered  Cool  they sold me AC/Furnace and that was a great experience .  They scheduled me  right away  I got a call from a Marie who confirmed and then they called again and said they had a chance to get hear earlier.  Great!  Then this really nice technician  Kudos to Robert T.  showed up .  Friendly, knowledgeable thorough and professional Price was well worth it.  Another thumbs up[ for Clark and Rush

First of all; the sales process is really exceptional.  Aaron spent considerable time with us; first reviewing the different brands we had interest.  He then did an incredibly thorough explanation of the installation process: explaining different rating systems, what had to be done to make the HVAC system current with current codes.  There subsequently no surprises.

The installation crew was just wonderful: professional, polite and highly efficient.  Tobias was the team leader, I think, as he was the point person for all communication.  Tremendous representative for the company.

I would recommend Clarke and Rush without hesitation.

We were lucky enough to get Aaron and Dominick who are fantastic technicians at Clark and Rush for our home improvement.  They are a pair of brothers, and are an efficient team.  We were completely impressed by their worth ethic and efforts.  They replaced the ducting in the attic, and put in a whole house fan.  The crew that did the insulation removal was also very efficient as well.

Clark and Rush has been a great choice for our air system improvement.  We are very pleased with their work. We are using the Ygrene program, and the guys even had the rebate program forms for SMUD at the ready at the end of the installation process. Talk about going the extra mile!!!

I'm sort of surprised at the negative reviews I see here. I've used this company for several years on a couple of big and many little jobs and wouldn't go anywhere else. They are professional, prompt and courteous. Their prices seem a little high at times, but they stand by their work. A full year after they installed a tankless water heater for me, a PG&E guy coming by for something unrelated found the unit had been installed three inches too close to a gas meter. C&R came out right away and, despite the enormous amount of work required, spent two full days moving the system so it met code. I never had to argue about the need for it. They just made it right.

I just had a plumber out today replacing a pipe I broke and clearing a clog and the guy spent several hours making sure everything was just right. They are not the cheapest outfit you'll find in town, but you can trust them.

Clarke & Rush are amazing! Not only did they give me a great price for my new American Standard heating and air conditioning unit, but they stayed true to their word and there were NO hidden costs! Even when they ran up against some unexpected issues, they took care of it without charging me anything extra.

Luke was incredible! He made sure I understood everything that was going on and despite the unexpected issues, called in some additional help to be sure all the work could be done in 1 day, as promised! They worked so hard to ensure we were completely satisfied and cleaned everything before they left!

Thank you Luke, and the rest of the Clarke & Rush team for our new HVAC and getting heat back in my bedroom!!

I called C&R after i had a service tech come out and tell me my indoor blower motor was bad and gave me a quote of 780.00 dollars i got a second opinion from C&R the tech told me it was just the capacitor gave me a price of 230.00 installed it and had heat again thank you C&R.

Clarke & Rush installed a whole new HVAC system and a HE Hybrid Water heater in our home last week. Rusty, Brian and Zack worked diligently over two days to replace our aging HVAC system, were very courteous, tidy and efficient in their work. Brendan came the next day to install the water heater and was also very professional and an excellent communicator with our slight language barrier. When there were minor issues with the AC wiring, a team was dispatched from Clarke & Rush within an hour to troubleshoot any problems. Both systems are working very effectively.

Our entire experience with Clarke & Rush was excellent, from the first inspection and assessment with their engineer Mark to the whole 3 day installation process. The staff at Clarke & Rush are very knowledgeable about the best cost efficient and environmentally friendly products out there.

Had new ac/heat pump carrier system installed in April, over &11k cost. No real follow up, still waiting for my permit as they have not followed up even though that was part of the contract I signed !  Additionally and MOST importantly,   the new carrier system runs for over 30 minutes, ac, and doesn't even drop the temperature inside my house more than 2 degrees???   I am completely disappointed and need to have a follow up ASAP.   I paid a lot of money for a new unit and it doesn't even work like the salesman Aaron told me it would?  

I am deeply concerned and warning to all, until I receive contact and my issues reasonably addressed and fixed,  I would look to other companies as there is currently a trust issue here ):   I would question everything they say at this time.

Last year, my 15 yr. old rooftop HVAC unit quit heating.   I got multiple quotes.   Based on past experience, I had good luck with Carrier Heat Pumps.  
I went with Clarke and Rush as they quoted me a new install with a Carrier unit.  The price was right and the install went great.   On the day of install, an army of technicians showed up and worked in unison to produce a quality installation.    After a year of service, it is one great unit.   And the efficiency is outstanding with 2 stage, lower gas heating and electric cooling.  I highly recommend.  :)

I'd select 10 stars if there were that many! Clarke & Rush is simply amazing! They are the definition of excellent service and follow through. I've contacted C&R on three separate occasions and they've been absolutely consistent on the high quality of customer service. I initially contacted them a year ago to check my heater, which wasn't turning on. Magically the system started to work right when the tech showed up, so I wasn't charged. The second time I contacted C&R was this last summer when my AC broke down. They were by far the best priced and could install it much sooner than all of the competitors. They even delivered a loaner portable AC unit while waiting for the install day to arrive. Knowing that my wife was pregnant and it was well over 108 degrees outside, they expedited the install as quickly as they could and even completed it within a day and a half, which is exceptional! Then months later I contacted them again to have a toilet removed and replaced, again amazing friendly service for a very competitive price. Their service doesn't end there. I just had a technician come out to perform a check-up on the furnace to ensure everything is okay. I look forward to seeing them again in the summer for the AC check-up. Ultimately this has got to be the company you chose when you're seeking a service they can provide. I will not look elsewhere going forward and will immediately recommend them to anyone, including on NextDoor. Being that I work for a company that has a world-wide reputation for quality in service, it's comforting knowing that  Clarke & Rush also has the same outlook and expectation. Well done!

It was 110 degrees and 8 at night on 10 July.  All the techs had been hard at it  and were done for the day.  John their team chief came out and fixed our air conditioner.  It was 94 degrees in the house and thankfully he was willing and able to fix it on the spot.  Less than 2 hours later we had cool air flowing again and I didn't have to worry about my 92 year old father! Thank you very-very much!!

I am so pleased with my service from Clarke and Rush!  From beginning to end, I had the feeling of small town hospitality but with big business results.  There are a lot of companies out there that say the customers thoughts, feelings and opinions matter, but Clarke and Rush went above and beyond to make me feel important.  
Aaron, came out on more than one occasion to explain the process and the products to us. He gave us appropriate options and explained them all thoroughly. I didn't feel like I was being pushed in to buying a lot of stuff that I didn't need and anytime there were any hiccups along the way, he was there to help.
I spent three days with Mike and Barry from my install team and they too explained the process the whole way through.  Every questions and/or concern I had was answered with a smile and they were great with my dogs!
I didn't get to know Art and Scott very well but that is because they completed my insulation so fast and efficient we didn't have time for any chit chat. Thanks guys!!
Next Scott came out because of a problem with my tankless water heater communicating with my showers and although we haven't entirely fixed the problem yet, he gave us some very good ideas and options to try.
Lastly, a big thank you to Terri, Heather, Joanna and everyone else who has helped me during this process.  You all made it seamless. I would recommend Clarke and Rush to anyone.  Check them out!

I hired Clarke & Rush to replace all of the duct work in my house, install a new heating & Air system in one half of my house and make sure the other split system that is 6 years old work properly.  They performed all of the work in one week and everything worked fairly well for 5 or 6 weeks.  They were paid well over $13,000 for their work. Soon after, the furnace on the split system failed to turn on.  I called Clark & Rush to have them repair the problem and they wanted more money to diagnose and/or repair the split system they just certified to work properly.  Does this sound like good service to you?  I am still waiting to see what they plan to do.  I will keep you posted.

As it turns out, the problem with the 6 year old split system had nothing to do with the work Clarke & Rush performed at my home so an additional fee to repair the problem would be appropriate.  The furnace in the 6 year old split system had a problem with the electronic ignition that I decided to repair myself.

Just finished Heat,Air, Ducts,Insulation,Whole house Fan and some windows. Did a lot of research about equipment , service providers and rebate programs from PG&E and SMUD both with previous customers and on line reviews. I got estimates from 3 bigger companies that were authorized agents to perform rebate type work. Clark and Rush was straightforward with information and actually quoted me the best price of the big 3. Josh, Dominic ,Gabe and George performed all my HVAC indoor and outdoor work with professional , efficient and friendly service - They were the greatest. Nick and Chris did 5 windows for me another morning - what a great job. The windows look great and are sure an upgrade from the old ones. Rod, the supervisor came out during their project to make sure things were going well and offered them help if they needed it - he was very professional and friendly. Toward the end of the job I had an electrical short in my house that affected some of their equipment . They sent a super south electrician named Jon who instinctively diagnosed and repaired the not so obvious problem. Thanks Jon and and all the crew including the wonderfully kind billers and appointment setters back at the office

This is an updated review to a negative one I posted a few days ago in which I was stressed out and expressed frustration at not having received a response for a few days to my request for a quote on an A/C issue.

I am doing a 360 degree change of mind.  Justin, the Service manager, called the following day to find out more information about what my needs were. He arranged to send out an experienced technician to identify the exact issue my air conditioner was experiencing so that an accurate estimate could be quoted. The technician even topped off my unit with refrigerant to keep us cool til it could get repaired. I soon received a quote that was far more reasonable than another estimate from a competitor. I am very pleased, again, with the customer service I've received from Clarke and Rush and I'm sorry for the earlier negative comments!

Had contacted Clark & Rush to get a SMUD Home Energy Eval.  Chatted online with a rep(?) hoping to get some questions answered.  I guess that that person was just from a service to get contact info, not anyone who could answer questions.  They said they would send my info to C&R and someone would be in touch.  Since I was home that day I thought that I'd call, and maybe speed up the process.  Got transferred 3 times before I had to leave a message.    
Today (4 days later) I finally got a call back.  I thanked the rep for calling and told him that I had contacted another company to come out and do the eval.  He started in on, how, anyone could do the eval.  I cut him off.  I told him that it took him a week to get back to me (ok, I exaggerated a bit). He said that they are a very busy company, and it took him his 48 hour window to get back to me. He also told me that my attitude is one that Clark & Rush would not want to deal with anyway!  WOW!
Sure I was a little aggravated that I hadn't been called back sooner, but I feel that was uncalled for.  Sad that I couldn't give a proper review based on work done.

*Follow Up....I've increased my rating since Pat Rush called me and apologized.  I had a nice conversation with him and he answered the questions that I was originally looking for.  I let him know that I would be open to include them in the quote process should we need any work done.

Estimate was reasonable for air conditioner/heat pump replacement. I really liked the people and they were polite, efficient. My favorite part they used blanket tarps to cover floor. Highly noticed and appreciated. Since my unit is on 2nd floor they used crane to install it (run from any installer that doesn't if you have a second floor unit!!) The unit is quiet and efficient so far. I'm impressed!! Very grateful!!

We went with Clark & Rush because of the fact how the salesman insured us that a particular crew who have been installing mini-spilts and he had this incredible confidence for the crew.  He also talked us into the Carrier Mini-spilt too. We did financing through SMUD.

The unit was installed in February and it was not installed by this incredible crew who knew how to install a mini-spilt. That was the first oops. So this other crew had to install in the rain our brand new unit, they flare-fit and sweat the line set in the rain. The very next day we found that the lines were leaking Freon, we called and they sent a service guy out.  He replaced the complete line set and flare to fitting without a sweat joint. It doesn't get better and we have been very patient.

We also have something else going on with the inside part of our mini-spilt unit, a smell that is not polite and we have complained to each service guy who has been out here. The inside unit lid came down on my husband's head due to it cracking because he was checking the filters figuring it could've been the filters for the smell and it wasn't it.

Once more we called Clark & Rush, still patient and wondering what is going on.  The third service guy came out and found that the outside lines are still leaking and he has to be rescheduled to come out and fix a problem that we thought was fixed.

OH YEAH.....All three of these experienced service/installers had no knowledge of the Carrier Mini-Spilt....I am not ecstatic about that. We have questioned the crews about what the unit can and cannot do and they have no idea what it does, we even asked the customer service on the phone and they also have no idea too.

We had the third service guy out here 3 days ago and the smell has not gone away.

For the last 26 years the same A/C wall unit worked like a work-horse with ZERO SMELLS and we took it out due to remodeling our home.  We have left the inside wall exposed and we are not able to do any finishing inside due to the ongoing issues.

My husband spoke with Clark & Rush and told them that we are frustrated and they said that they will have a service manager call us after he said about taking this grieve to the social media level and maybe involving a consumer advocate as well.....we have yet to receive that call.

We have a lot of contractors in our home in the last 4 months due to the remodeling and there was a couple of mistakes and the contractors met us half-way by giving a discount.  We have even referred a friend to Clark & Rush and we haven't received any referral fee for referring her.

Last night we again have found that newest work done on the lines that there is the oil that indicates a Freon Leak is there....Yeah not happy.

To replace our over 20 y. o.  HVAC system, we scheduled  estimates from  five  contractors,  working with different  brands: Lennox, Carrier, Amana, Trane.
Clarke and Rush representative,  Mark,  came very well prepared : he  knew about our house everything,  and had  already  printed 3 versions,  sized for our house.  
The price was between 35% to 20 % lower for similar size and level of comfort,  comparing to  proposals from other contractors, (we knew the price of units for the same size and comfort level  are not  much different  between those brands).  
The price included  new smart thermostat, what was not included in some other estimate.  There was no need for the new pipe  on outside wall, no new holes,  as some contractor  included in their estimate.      
Also we find out that  Carrier  was more quiet then Lennox  which was our first option,  since Costco was offering nice cash  for this brand (the price was much higher, probably including this Costco cash).
The crew of four people installing  the new system was very professional and did a great job, they didn't cut any corners as fare as we were watching them,  and as fare as we know.  
They came morning and were done at lunch time.  
They checked put our smoke detectors (had to be done when the new permit is issued, they told us)   and happens -  one of detectors started chirping just after they left.   Since our ceilings  are  high  and  we are seniors, we called Clark and Rush,   and the same day afternoon  another worker came to  fix it.  Nice.  
Bottom line - we are very pleased with the company  work.  Thank you very much for  a  good job.

Need to rant. Don't EVER hire Clark and Rush for your AC!!!! Holy crap they are horrible! I say 0 stars. They installed a lemon Carrier unit in our house 10 years ago and it constantly has problems we have to pay to fix. Just wanted to ask about the cost of a particular thermostat upgrade that might use remote sensors to monitor specific rooms in the house to get a more accurate temperature reading (or just to see if this kind of thermostat exists!). They want to charge me $89 just to tell me what a new thermostat would cost!!!!! Seriously, worst company ever!!!!

We called Clarke and Rush to come and take a look at our a.c. unit this morning. They said that someone would be out between 12-6 ( a fairly large time window). Well the whole day wasted! They never showed. Not even a phone call.
If this is their idea of customer service, I feel sorry for anyone that actually gets these clowns to actually show up.
I will never use this company, I will tell anyone I know to avoid them.

We hired Clarke & Rush to replace and relocate our hot water heater with a tankless water heater.  I appreciate that they sent out plumbers rather than a salesman to give us a quote.  They answered all my question with no pressure to hire them.  Brandon gave usd the quote and did the work.  He was polite, professional, on time and answered all our questions. He completed the job early and even did some extra work sealing up  our house (not part of the job).  He definitely went above and beyond our expectations.

They have everything protected and have their own shoe covers and traps and everything.
They are so nice and professional.
Now to the good part.
The thing that is most important to me is that workmen are neat and clean up after themselves and these guys are top notch.
The Windows look so good and I could not be happier.
Also I asked Chris if he could put a lock on the patio and he said he would!!

Last month when the temperature was triple digits my AC unit started making a loud humming sound.
Being that the AC unit is serviced yearly by Clark & Rush we figure let's schedule a technician to look a the issue.
The service fee was $99, when technician arrived I explained the issue and the technicians said I'll give you the diagnosis.
About 30 minutes or so the technician was done and said everything was fine from what I can see the unit is fine.
A few days ago same issue, I called lthem back and they said it'll be another $99 service fee because it's be over 30 days.
Now this is the same company that installed this unit several years ago and this is how they service their existing customers by charging a yearly maintenance service fee, and diagnostic fee over and over again for the same issue .

Can't say enough good things about my experience in purchasing a new HVAC system with this company.  My sales rep Brian was both knowledgeable and personable and took a genuine interest in earning my business to meet my own individual needs, not pushing, overselling or speaking downright untruths like so many other companies I contacted.   Pricing was extremely fair and financing was easy.  Proper HVAC installation is most important and their A team crew of Bill, Dave and Roger were simply the best,  Meticulous, courteous and a joy to have around my home,  As with any construction project, surprises and challenges occur and they met them with great skill and a positive attitude.  I will call on them in the years ahead for maintenance and servicing, and I highly recommend Clarke and Rush to anyone looking for a solid, honest experience in purchasing an HVAC system at a great price,

We had windows installed and this company was awesome. From our initial contact with Tony Vann to the installers, our experience has been first class. Clark & Rush weren't the cheapest, but they gave us an incredible deal for what we wanted. The process was seamless. They stuck to the contract price even though we waited for several months before pulling the trigger (Are we staying or selling?). Tony answered all of our questions and was really patient. He has a  positive attitude and he's very personable. All of the installers were exceptionally friendly and respectful, even putting up with our rambunctious puppies who barked, got in their way, and took one of their gloves when they went to lunch. (We found it and put it back.)

I'll post pictures later, but the windows are beautiful! The french doors in the primary bedroom are stunning. We immediately noticed a difference in sound and insulation. We don't hear outside noise. Our dogs couldn't hear us when we called their names through the glass. I can finally leave the blinds open without worrying about our furniture being bleached and our house heating up. Total wow factor. I highly recommend Clarke & Rush if you're considering a windows upgrade.

These guys are IDIOTS. They are just a disaster. They didn't do the job in the right time, they trashed my place with mud, and dirt, and empty soda cans. They didn't tarp the garage and there is an inch of filth everywhere.
They turned the gas back on in the house, after PG and E locked it out, and told us to go in, they turned the heater on.

They hadn't even repaired the internal gas leak. hadn't even touched the broken apparatus and sent us in to get warm and toasty. we are not so dumb. We shut it down and called PG and E back out, who locked it out again. These people could kill someone. We were in danger due to their stupidity and negligence. It wasn't just one accident here and there, everything they did was a disaster. they had no communication between each other and the job at hand, and I was disgusted and stressed dealing with these people.

I can't possibly say enough bad things about them!! They are horrendous. don't trust your safety to these people. I still call PG and E, even after they are done, again...to make sure we don't have gas leaks.
After they completed the job again there were three appliances leaking gas. We are lucky we are apprehensive about their skills, or we would be sitting in a house all signed off with three gas leaks. STILL
Don't ever do business with these people. The worst I have ever seen in any trade ever.

I recently had Clarke and Rush install a new heat pump system, along with new ducting and insulation as part of the SMUD Home Performance program.  The Home Performance program offers large rebates when you bundle multiple upgrades together ($6000 in my case), but you have to go through a company on their list.  I had several companies come out and give me quotes.  The issue I kept running into is that they all priced their quotes extremely high with the rebate money baked in.  Essentially you would end up paying as much or more than if you didn't go through the SMUD program at all and your rebates would just end up being profit for them.  The largest company on the list was actually the most guilty of this.  Clarke and Rush was the only vendor that offered a price that was even close to fair.  Also, kudos to Brain Webb for being so helpful and straightforward on the estimate.  It was quite a relief after all the marketing nonsense from some other vendors.

When my system was installed the crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time each morning.  Everyone was courteous and professional and took care not to damage anything or make a mess.  The insulation guys (Brian and Matt) were particularly good and even added more insulation thickness than I had paid for!  My new system is up and running and cools so much better than the one it replaced. They have also been great about getting back to me on questions or concerns I had after the system was installed and paid for.  It seems like they take customer satisfaction pretty seriously.

In summary, my experience with Clarke and Rush has been very positive.  Also, If you are looking into doing upgrades through the SMUD Home Performance program, make sure you research what things should cost beforehand!

On 4/17/20, we had Clarke and Rush to replace our AC HVAC system with a brand new system after choosing from several quotes.  Brian the salesman was great at presenting the product which was sold to us.  He was extremely sociable and a very down to earth person to communicate with.

The team of installers did a great job installing the system.  But prior to the install there were two issues which were extremely unprofessional from the lead of the team and I'll be courteous not to mention any names.

First the lead person came to our front door with his two installers standing behind him and asked was anyone sick in our home due to Covid 19?  My husband stated, no!  My husband then asked them the same question, which they stated, no!  So the lead then began to enter our home and I said wait where are you all's mask and gloves?  The lead stated sarcastically, he does not wear a mask because he tends to touch his face often while working.  I stated to him that when their office called to confirm our install appointment that I was assured that the team would have mask and gloves on prior to arrival.  The lead stated that if we were uncomfortable with him not wearing a mask that we would have to work something out.  At that point, I insisted that they wear their mask and gloves prior to entering our home.  To no surprise the three of them return to their vehicle and retrieved their N95 masks and gloves.  Wow!  I guess what they failed to realize is that they were not invited guest; they were coming to provide a service!!!

So upon entering our home the lead then stated he had to look around our home.  He was not specific as to what he was looking for.  At this point, I felt uncomfortable because no one is allowed to just come into our home and began looking around unless they've specified what they are looking for.  They're strangers to us regardless that they came to do a job. So, I stated, no one from your company said you all had to look around our home; so what are you looking for???  To which I got no response.  The lead and one of the other installers began looking around our home.  I guess he was upset because they had to put on mask and gloves which was not our problem!!!!  The lead then made a statement about the carbon monoxide plug ins. He said he noticed that there was one in the upstairs hall but assumed we did not have one downstairs.  I stated had you said what you were looking for then we could have shown you that there was one downstairs as well.  The lead then stated; that it needed to moved to our foyer area prior to our inspection being done and not where we originally had it plugged in; to which we moved it. The lead then asked me, are you ok???  I then stated the same to him, No, are you ok???  I stated; I did not like the fact that they would come into our home and be so unprofessional!!!!  We did not know them from Adam!!!!!  A few minutes later the lead came to my husband and me and apologized for putting a bad taste in our mouth.  We accepted his apology and they proceeded with the install to which they did a great job.

In conclusion, I would have given Clarke and Rush a five star rating but due to the unprofessional courtesy we received from their installers they are worth a three star.  As far as the install; I would recommend them for their work.  Clarke and Rush needs to ensure that their employees provide A1 courtesy to customers at all times.  A1 courtesy means more to my husband and me than someone knowing their job and installing a HVAC system.  First impression is everything!!!!  Clarke and Rush needs to remind their employees that they represent the company and if they plan to continue receiving business then they need to ensure their employees provide great care to their current customers  as well as upcoming customers.  Clarke and Rush installers were just about to be told to exit the same door they entered in had we not received an apology.  We shall see what the future holds going forward with Clarke and Rush for maintenance and any other service needs, if any; time will tell!!!

One last thing, should any company come into your home for service please stand your ground and ensure that they provide professional customer care or have them make a u-turn out your door!!!
