The drains throughout my whole house were constantly backing up. We had called Rooter Hero a couple of times and were pleased with their service so we called them again.  Mike came out to assess the situation... it was bad. Everything was so gunked up he could hardly get the camera in the pipe; the plumbing in was 52 years old!  Mike explained the situation to us then had his supervisor, Adam come out to determine the full extent of what needed to be done. The whole house needed to be replummed. These guys were great, we even had them do some ork in our bathroom. We asked if they could take out the tub and put in just a shower; yes they could and they did. They also replaced the bathroom floor for us. They replaced every bit of pipe under the house all the way to the street, they were quick in their work and cleaned up at the end of each day. I can't say enough good about the work they did for us; these guys are fantastic. They were very patient with us when we had to postpone the work due to COVID making us sick then once again when I broke my sholder the weekend before the date we were ready for them to begin work. Once they could start working they were on time, clean (as clean as anyone can be digging in the dirt) and made the process as easy on us as they possibly could. I would like to say thank you again to everyone that worked at our house. If you need plumbing work done I recommend Rooter Hero.

This company has been awesome with helping us. We have had water heater problems for awhile now and they have with above and beyond to help. Sean was an awesome technician who has helped us with out water heater problems as of late. His expertise with tankless water heaters is amazing.. Highly recommend them!

I chose this company because of the reviews.  Made my appt a WEEK in advance so I could take a day off to be at home for the service. Got a call THE MORNING OF SERVICE APPOINTMENT that they could not come!!!
Not only am I out a days work, I don't have a kitchen sink faucet!! This company cannot keep its appointments and didn't offer a solution ..
Didn't care I lost a whole day of work only to get a cancellation 8 am

Woke up to a bubble of water on my ceiling, called them based on their hood Yelp reviews  and they were there within the hour! The owner was very professional, knowledgeable and had a full staff ready to come fix the problem. Every single person we worked was with excellent. They even proactively took care of an extra issue that came up which was very professional. Highly recommend

Total total rip off! Stay away from this company! They charge a 89.00 fee to come out to home.I am ok with that.
Then I get hit with 3 options to snake my kitchen sink.
First option snake my sink 89.00 plus $358.00 (wow)
Second option 89.00 plus $1100.00 for more powerful clean ( Wow Wow)
3rd option 89.00 plus $1300.00 dollars to hydro jet it. ( Wowser)

Are you joking me with these prices??? It is a clogged sink! Get out of my home!!!!

Phil and crew replaced a water line meter to house in less than 8 hours. If you know anything about plumbing, this is no small task and can really create a mess! When they finished everything looked like nothing had happened.

replacing the cartridge for the bathtub was asked for $800 more!!!.  The part is only around $17~30 in HD and will take less than $30 mins to do it.  How can I use this company in the future?  

The good thing is that they arrived on time and they didn't charge me when I pointed it out the repair labor is too high and don't want  them to fix my faucet.    why not to do it with $200 charge and be as the honest handyman? You gonna lose so many credits for the work in the future.

Dependable has very reliable experts in all plumbing work.  They may be a bit pricier than others, but their menu based staright pricing per type of job makes it clear exactly how much you will pay - not an increasing adjustment based on discovery (as many other companies end up doing).  We had major water damage in our house and had to ensure all plumbing lines were inspected and replaced if necessary.  Ariana & Jesus were there to ensure everything was done right for the entire house (4 bathrooms) and also I had to replace my hot water re-circulation pump that failed after 7 years.  Jesus did an excellent job on the copper bypass lines for the pump (with proper isolation and purge valves).  They are prompt, fast and on-time with their work.  With this experience, I have even signed up for their Home Protection plan that enables fast reponse to all plumbing needs and regular inspections to avoid surprises like we had with our flooding due to braided hose failure at a sink.  I believe with their excellent work - I will not be calling on them much, but they will be on my quick contacts at anytime!  Highly recommended.

WATCH OUT! My wife's signature was forged on the initial invoice without our knowledge of receipt! SO much for being honest and dependable!

Unjustified work costs!

We called because of water hammering in our sprinkler irrigation. Work cost and time spent was over exaggerated. Tech turned the water off while our pool pump was running which fried our run capacitor. They denied cause of course. Wish the tech knew to assess an area before shutting off water, would have saved us another $50 that we needed to spend on a new run capacitor.

Another issue is that we were charged $448 for the tech to dig around an existing hole. Our outside irrigation pipes that show above ground had an access hole to the underground irrigation which is what the tech needed to get to. The company is trying to say the tech needed to dig an additional 2 feet by 2 feet...Since we already had an access hole to the underground irrigation pipes, the tech opened the lid and cleared away minimal debris, yet we are being charged $448 for 2x2 digging.  I asked the Tech why he didn't mention the cost of this upfront and he had no response! ROBBERY!

Dependable Rooter and Plumbing did a great job on my place.  They replaced a faucet, broke concrete to replace a busted drain pipe, replaced a couple gas lines, and ran a new water line for the fridge ice maker.  Alejandro, Andrew, Carlos, Javier, Jesus, Julio, and Taylor all pitched in for this multi-day job.  They were all awesome.  It was very pricey compared to other companies, but you definitely get what you pay for.

We were so afraid of calling a plumber for a cracked pipe to be replaced under our sink.  However, we finally did so and was pleasantly impressed by Taylor's quick knowledge and great customer service and providing a price guide of how much the price would be for repairing and replacing our main pipe under our sink!!  Very reasonable price and quickly replaced and repaired!!  Thank you so much, Taylor for an awesome job and price within our budget!!!  Very much appreciated!!!!

I called this morning through a sign language interpreter relay service for the Deaf as that's how I communicate on the phone. I picked this company based on the rating services for our plumbing issues. They hung up on me. I may not be able to hear on the phone but I'm able to speak verbally in person. They lost a business opportunity to come out and do plumbing work for me.

Needed a plumber the day after Thanksgiving for a severely clogged toilet that another plumber didn't resolve.  The Technician was professional, communicative and  did the repairs in a timely manner.  I believe they are competitively priced because the last plumber I used charged less but resolve the issue.  I wish I had used Dependable Rooter first.

I've lived in this house for 38 years and have finally found my forever plumber!  The first impression set the stage for excellence when I was texted with a photo of the plumber.  He came at the appointed time and put on his shoe covers before entering the house, never seeing my sign to remove his shoes at the front door.  Wow!  He gave me 2 options and the owner dropped by to give us the cost of the second more expensive option.  We were never pressured to select the more extensive/expensive option. We were surprised that they could get started immediately and they did EVERYTHING (plumbing, drywall replacement, texturing, painting and clean-up).  The owner stayed in touch by texting me to make sure all was well.   Yes, he cares about his customers.

When I called, they were helpful in arranging a convenient appointment and the representative arrived on time. It was also nice getting a courtesy call letting me know the expected time of arrival. Angel, the plumber, was very professional and did a great job resolving the sewer line problem. He took time to discuss the situation and reviewed longer-term solutions that should be considered. A fantastic experience from start to finish. Their customer service is impeccable - friendly and efficient folks in the office (Natalie was great!) who text you a photo of the technician who will be doing your service, and when you can expect them. Our technician (Taylor) was prompt, friendly, professional, and explained our options thoroughly and did the work quickly and well. We really liked the easy to understand pricing structure as well. I had a backed up sewer caused by roots with no property line clean out a few days before Christmas. Dependable came out right away I hired them to fix the problem and install a property line clean out.
They were on time very professional. They located the line (in the dive way) dug it up and cleared the line and installed the clean out. And reinstalled new concrete. The process was very smooth we were all thankful to get the sewer back to working just before Christmas! Thank you Andrew & Dependable Plumbing Company!

Not reliable. Over priced! Charged a card they had no business having on file whatsoever! not fixing their mistakes! Had two issues with them. We called them because our bathroom was flooding underneath the toilet at a commercial building.  when they arrived I gave them one card and immediately I told him to take that card off and use a different one right away so he did that. I was charged a ridiculous fee for an extra person to help him and it seemed like they spent more of the time running around the building I'm not sure why, our bathroom just had to be reset and unclogged. Once I was told that the bathroom was finished, went to check and it was not flushing now we had absolutely no problem with it flushing and he was trying to leave. We said the job is not done and you did something wrong that it's not flushing now. He said he had to get a part and come back. The following day I called to complain They got defensive and almost argued with us saying that it's not their fault that the flush is not working and wanted to charge me an extra $337 but ended up saying if you think it's our fault we will fix it (yes we think it's 100% your fault). They come the following day call me before the appointment and say something about a form of payment. My response was the owner is on site She is there and if anything is needed talk to her bc she talked to them when they said they would take care of fixing it. The guy came, and did what he needed to do, and left. The following day I see a charge for $337 in my bank. THEY CHARGED THE CARD I TOLD THEM TO TAKE OFF AND NOT USE! Why was it still in the system? No payment was supposed to come out of that card at all $0!  I called to complain and had no response for over 2 weeks! Made a bank claim and ONLY THEN got a call!

I had a plumbing clog and called Dependable, they were able to come out the same day and kept me aware of when my technician Taylor would be at my home.  Taylor was courteous and carefully explained the options to me.  There were two possible ways to address my problem and Taylor kindly look the most affordable route first.  I will definitely use Dependable Plumbing again and would recommend them to anyone who has a plumbing issue.

Firstly they will not give you a quote over the phone they say it's policy, then they tell you there is a $89 service fee just to come out and look. Once they get to your house they have a pricing guide they could definitely give to their call center to give quotes. During their visit the quote is over double the price of every other honest plumber, this is an attempt to scam people out of $89 or to force them to spend double because you've already had to commit to the $89 fee. The employee was very defensive and rude after being questioned about their policy's. Beware of this company and their very deceitful practices.

They are what they say they are dependable. Sean came out to the house early this morning and worked so hard at clearing the drain. When the drain was definitely a bigger problem he gave me a price quote and work very hard at fixing the problem. Didn't leave the house until we had working drains. Thank you Dependable Rooter and Plumbing Sean is a great worker and asset to your company. A real pleasure to have in our house.

They came back to our house this morning and finish the job thoroughly and professionally. The recent storm led to our backyard flooding because my drainage system was partially blocked and the water could not make it way from the back of our home to the street.

Called Dependable on Monday morning and they gave me a Wed morning appointment stating they would call me back if a opening came up sooner. The called back and showed up at 5pm on the same day, Monday!

Andrew (owner) and Austin were a great team.  They knew what they were doing, they were professional and nice guys.  Straight Forward.

I know there is a periodic issue and I know I will use Dependable in the future.

I would definitely recommend Dependable Rooter and Plumbing to my family and friends. They got my job scheduled within 24 hours and were professional and friendly over the phone. I tried to clean my clean bathroom sink drains myself but eventually I gave up and called Dependable Rooter and Plumbing.

Ther plumber, Eddie, was supposed to come between 4-6 pm but the office called to let me know he had been caught up in traffic and would come around 6:30.   I was very impressed with how the office kept me informed of the expected arrival time.  Eddie came at 6:30 and was very professional.  He completed the job efficiently and properly, and he even put tape on the edges of the pipes under the sink to prevent any leaks. I will definitely use them again.

My first review of Dependable Rooter was a few months back.  I needed a small repair and called Saturday.  They scheduled an appointment for me for the next day Sunday. I thought I was going to have to wait until Monday.  But once again this company is exceeding my expectations.  Sean was my service technician, plumber he provided excellent service.  He was on time, explained what he did and gave advice on how to prevent future damage.  Plus, when I mentioned the additional work I am planning for, he gave me advice and additional things to consider.  Insight like that is very valuable.

Dependable R & P fixed  a leak an a water line for me. I am really happy with their work: they never promised anything they didn't deliver. Fixed the leak in two days for the exact amount we agreed in the beginning. Cleaned after themselves really well, up to covering the trench with the greenery that grew there before digging. Javier, Ariana, Jesus and Taylor started in the morning and worked practically non-stop until late afternoon. Pricey but very professional. Unfortunately there are very few contractors whose word one can rely upon. These guys are an exception and I'm very happy with their work.

It's been 2 months w/out any drain blockage since had a reasonable plumbing Co. unblocked the sewer line. Guess didn't need the $ 700 jet cleaning Dependable suggested. I find the response back Funny. Having a office person stating unsafe conditions of getting on a ONE story Composition Roof. There are many ways to perform work tasks on a roof in a Safe Manner ! All the training I was lectured on by this Owner, trying to justify How Expensive they are, must not include Safe Practices of accessing Roofs. Your Comments Back are so misleading you should be ashamed of presenting this as a Reputable Co.

Called Dependable Rooter yesterday and described our problem to Patrick who was extremely profession - he asked all the right questions, explained the process and scheduled an appt the next morning - Javier came out and assessed the situation and had our drain opened up and flowing quickly - access was under a deck so not an easy job - highly recommend Dependable!

Once upon a time, there was a leakage in our main water pipe. Sebastian was the hero to save the day for our little household.

In all honesty, he told us what was the deal and really wanted what was best for us. In the end, we got our leakage fixed with someone else but this experience was one for the books. (And who can miss that salmon color van that they have ;-))

Only call this company if you don't care about overpriced work and want to deal with an arrogant owner, Andrew. I did not appreciate him bad mouthing my prior plumbing company and then stating that they guarantee their work unlike another big company, just unprofessional to trash talk a competitor. While I did agree to have the work done at their increased pricing it was only because the company I used previously could not come out for a few days and my sewer line was backed up.  What I could not believe is they wanted to charge me $10,000 - $12,000 to dig a 6 foot area in my grass to repair damaged piping, it took a lot for me not to laugh at that dollar amount.  Needless to say we definitely did not want them to do any additional work and they didn't even finish the original job we paid for.  I will say Austin and Jesus were very hard workers and pleasant to deal with but would not recommend this company.

We needed emergency main sewer drainpipe repair, and Andrew and his able crew at Dependable Rooter & Plumbing were quickly responsive and devoted 3 very full days determining the problem and then fixing it. The repairs ended up being a lot more extensive than originally thought, and a long piece of pipe with an aggressive tree root tightly wrapped around it was taken back to their shop as a trophy (it has been named Rootzilla). Over the 3 days, crew Taylor, William, Alyssa, Jesus and Julio were on time, friendly, neat and clean about their work, and were always open and available to answer ANY of our questions or concerns (and we had many). After all the work was very professionally completed, the inside of our home where the work had been conducted was cleaned and vacuumed, plus any outside areas where the equipment had been set up was picked up and swept. We always felt secure that Andrew and his crew were doing the very best job at each stage of the demolition and repair. We can easily recommend them for plumbing needs. You sure can't miss those pink trucks!

Ariana and Javier were the two technicians who were dispatched to fix the problem at my condo. Before calling Dependable plumbing, three other plumbers tried to fixed the problem and were unsuccessful. The problem was with kitchen sink clogging up.
Initially when Ariana and Javier arrived, there was some misunderstanding and I was going to send these guys back ( may be because I had problem with other plumbers). But Ariana is a very smart lady. Instead of arguing with me, she told me that she can do the visual inspection free of charge for me. Good salesmanship from Ariana. Not only Ariana and Javier did a detailed visual inspection, they explained me what the problem might be and the various ways the problem can be fixed. At this point, they won my trust. Basically, instead of arguing Ariana patiently handled my queries and created a good impression. After they diagnosed the problem, Ariana was confident that she and Javier can fix the problem. She offered me a deal that if they fix the problem then only I can pay them or else its free. Since, I had earlier gambled on three other plumbers, I thought it was a great deal but still  was not sure whether the problem can be fixed. Once, I agreed, Ariana and Javier started working on the problem and fixed it in an hour. Good job guys and thanks for the help.

Our toilet was spewing water from under front and flooding bathroom - even after turning off main, it was still coming out!!  We called dependable plumbing and they were able to come out within 2 hours!!  Richard was wonderful and clearly explained all of our options, rates, etc.  They got us up and running right away and ordered new toilet and installed the following morning!!!  We are so impressed with this company and their great employees!!  Would HIGHLY recommend this company!!

Very Dependable indeed! Typically i don't write reviews unless i am really impressed with the work and this experience was definitely worth writing about.

I had a sewage clog and called Dependable in the morning and they sent a technician to my house within couple of hours. The tech was was Ariana  and she went above and beyond what we expected of her. She was very patient and explained to us the various options and showed us pictures from prior work to substantiate her assessment. She was very thorough and owned the whole process of clog removal once we gave the go ahead. She is quite experienced and explained what she was doing while working on the job and showed us the camera image of the sewage pipe before and after the removal. She also had good recommendations for maintenance and provided proposals for long term resolution of the problem,

A pleasant experience and a great Job!  I would strongly recommend Ariana to everyone i know.

I had Jesus come to my house to clear up my mainline back up. He was very knowledgeable and fixed my problem in a Jiff!!

I wish they had a 10 star rating option!  We were in a very stressful situation the week before Thanksgiving 2021 with our home in Rocklin which we rent out. We live out of state and our property manager at the time was not responding appropriately to the leak issue.  Dependable Rooter not only came in with less than 24 hours notice but they also successfully diagnosed where the leak was coming from and advised us of issues we needed to be aware of.  After dealing with almost no communication from our property manager for almost a week Andrew S. would call and update us every few hours and sent a detailed description and photos of the issues and worked incredibly well with our restoration company ERC.  Together they made the most dynamic team and I hope our misfortune paid it forward to a great new business relationship with Dependable Rooter and ERC.  We have such peace of mind now knowing if we have an issue we know who to call and they will care for our home as if it was their own.  Thank you Dependable Rooter!!!  My apologies it took so long to write this review!!!

I highly recommend this business for all your plumbing needs! I had a leak in my main water line, came home from work to my water being shut off by the city. I called Dependable the next day and within 30 min Andrew showed up, was kind, professional and very knowledgeable. He explained in detail what was going on, had pics and videos from other work they had done, and what my repair options were. He was also extremely patient with me while I made my decision on which option to choose. Next morning, Zach arrived on time and got the job done. I had water!! Thank you Andrew, Zach and team for an amazing experience. Oh, and  Francisca too! Has to be one of the most friendly office staff members I've ever had answer a call! She immediately put my mind at ease and made me feel confident that I'd be taken care of, and not have to wait a week for a technician to come out. Thank you!!

Gouging doesn't even begin to describe my experience with these plumbers.  Yes they came out quickly, but when the problem was determined what was needed, I asked how long it would take, and the plumber said about 15 minutes, and then proceeding to give me a quote for $615.  Now, I don't know if it was because I am a woman, or because I was in Los Gatos or both, but the last I checked, plumbers don't make $1800. an hour.  They thought I was desperate because it was a rental property, and saw an opportunity to take advantage.  Then they charged me a service call fee of $90-something to give the quote.....What a waste of time and I was so furious they tried to gouge me thinking at a vulnerable time.   Business must be good if they think they can get away with that. They were referred by another plumber who didn't have time that day, so maybe they were both getting paid.  

The part that needed replacing ended up being $7.30 (yes, that is $7 dollars, and it took the other plumber only  10 minutes to change out, and I paid just the normal service call fee of $75.00.  

Maybe all of the other reviewers have endless amounts of money, and don't know they are being gouged...but it was so obvious that they priced the job to the address and me being a woman instead of to the time and effort the job took.

Andrew Stambaugh is very dishonest. He came to my property, and quoted me $825 to clear a sewer line. I told him I don't need it water-jetted, just snaked. That dropped the price to around $390. I told him I should have a $50 new customer discount and he balked and said I should have told him before he showed me his everyone gets the same price sheet. I told him I did tell his office person. I then asked him about the groupon, which is how I found this crooked company. He became irate saying that his website says coupons cannot be combined. Or course, no such thing is said on his website at the time of this post. Realizing that I was not an idiot, and Andrew would not make $825, but closer to $300, he refused to do the work. He also told me at the end, he was audio taping me. Since he did it on private property, I called the Police. In the end, the Police person wasn't sure about the law (reasonable expectation of privacy, private property, outside) and let him go. He wasted hours and got nothing, but a bad review. If you use this scam outfit after reading this, you deserve to get taken advantage of. I own numerous properties in Menlo Park and have never been treated like this. I just called another plumber and voila, they want $308 to do the work.

Update: Just found a place for $195. Done.

Be very careful!  Get a second opinion if your requirement is not an emergency.   They may know what they are doing, but are looking to expand the project, and definitely are on the VERY high end in pricing!!!

Way too expensive. Our shower faucet cartridge need to be replaced. The guy came  and asked for $600 to replace the cartridge!!! After we decided it was too expensive, he still charged us $60 for just coming here and spent 5 minutes! I will never use this company again.
My husband took out the cartridge himself and decide to DIY (LOL)

Just want to give an update. My husband went to Home Depot. Bought a $40 cartridge and pushed right it. Problem solved.  

The way this company charge their client is outrageous. I will definite vote them for the most expensive plumber in the bay area.

Update: Got a call from Dependable Rooter. They refunded me the $60 charge. Add a star.

We had Dependable Rooter & Plumbing come out to clear our drain this past Monday. We were so fortunate to have Taylor as our Technician. He was friendly, professional and honest. Taylor was also very adept at providing some education on the processes of what was required for our service and other important info. He took the time to assess the situation completely and then provided the available options, and he explained those options fully, then answered my questions .

During the service it was discovered that we didn't have a proper clean-out system, actually no clean out at all because our home is so old. Dependable quoted us for installing a clean-out system  - we agreed to the terms and Taylor came back a few days later to install the new clean-out system. We had another great experience during this job. Taylor explained what he was going to do and kept me informed at all the major steps. I can't forget to mention that he also cleaned up everything when he was done with the job ! Taylor also took before and after pictures to provide to me. We really appreciate having the same Technician come out as well  .

I have appreciated Dependable at every step, from the initial call to the completion of the service. Thank you Taylor  - you're awesome ‼ and also a BIG thank you to Veronica and Francisca who helped with the scheduling and follow-up.

I highly recommend this company,  there are multiple reasons for their excellent reviews, believe it ‼

They responded to my plugged clothes washer drain the next day after I called.  Called me right before scheduled time and were here on time.  They cleared the backed up drain and upgraded the 50 year old drain pipes so I should not have the problem again.  They are probably not the cheapest plumbers but they do good work.  I will call them next time I have a plumbing need.

Plumber was nice and did not repair root cause of leak issue coming from faucet instead replaced something else that had nothing to do with the kitchen sink leak. I emailed them and asked why the plumber did not address the root cause of the leak and they said replace faucet for over $600 is only solution. So now have to pay another plumber to fix it the right way and have leaking kitchen sink!

Very satisfied with Andrew and Dependable Plumbing. Got an appointment for my plugged sewer line almost immediately and showed up right on time.  Andrew analyzed the problem and showed me a cost breakdown so I'd know what each part of the solution would cost.  Kept me involved with each step of the fix, showing me a video of the root ball that was blocking my sewer line.  Removed the root ball and corrected the blockage.  Excellent work and fair prices.  Will surely call them again for any future plumbing problems.

Dependable Rooter And Plumbing came out to my place when my first plumber canceled on me ( for the 2nd time). Nate and Jose arrived on time. They were both very pleasant and professional. They slipped on work booties before they entered the house. I had several small items to look at during my appointment. Nate made sure I knew how much each task would cost and didn't try to up sale or pressure me into a decision. I appreciated that very much. Both Jose and Nate worked hard and efficiently. They spent a lot of time making sure the area was clean after they completed the work. I will call them again if I need work.

We've been loyal Dependable Rooter customers for years and were reminded why today: Two of the bathroom sinks in our house were clogged. I tried to unclog them myself for hours, even bought a new drain snake, but was unsuccessful. Thankfully, Ariana Maciel was available same-day. She was wonderful to work with. We had a slow drainage in one of our shop's sinks. Called in the business and got the appointment next day. The technician came in diagnosed problem. While fixing the issue , he found another unexpected damage which needs more tech support. After talking with the customer service, they immediately sent Jesus who is very experienced. He fixed all the problems in just 10mins. We are very impressed! Excellent Job!

After these crazy rains, I had a contractor go under the house and determined I had mass amounts of standing water! Several of my pipes were sitting in water. My foundation was beginning to shift due to the muddy earth. To determine if there was a leak, the contractor dug up the mud around the pipes and the water kept rising from the ground beneath.

I had two options - put in a sump pump in the crawl space under the house (2ft clearing) or dig a 6 ft well on the perimeter of my home that would draw the water in and pump it out.

I put in the well and I should have done it years ago! They used my existing drainage pipes to take the water away and were very reasonably priced (it took 3 days of work with 2 guys full time).

I know many of us have the same issues so I wanted to share what worked for me as I had not heard of this before.

I used Dependable Plumbing who were OUTSTANDING! They gave me several options, including cheap ways to fix myself. The customer service was very responsive and the workers were all very friendly and hard working and extremely clean. One even sent me pictures of the water under the house so I could see what he was talking about! They did not ask me for a post on any site - I just felt compelled as they were fantastic in helping me solve a problem I had been dreading for years!

I have a hair salon in Saratoga and I start having problem with one of my sinks on weekend which was Saturday shortly after my small problem become a very big problem I couldn't use the sink and  I needed someone ,happen to call this place They sent someone on Sunday and he was actually not only on time but even afew minutes earlier waiting for me .I was so excited to see him ,shortly after we find out about the whole thing he started  the work he did a great job I am recommending them to everyone they had everything in their truck which was amazing for me anything that we need it was awesome because the other plumber that I called before , they had to stop the work and go get the stuff from Orchard supply but these guys had everything in the truck right there I am really happy with them and I recommend them to everyone specially on the weekend when everyone not answering your phone and you need some one. thank u again.also this is the type of sink that they worked on not to many people know how to work wit these kind I got this picture from the web I hope it will helpful for some one like me that is looking for a plumber for certain kinds of sink.

We were in desparate need of a plumber and went on line when it was a holiday weekend.  Dependable was the third option down (others didn't answer their phone) and I got a real person at eleven in the morning.  Told her my problem, she said they would have a plumber out to my house to do the repair by three.  In my mind I said yeah right holiday weekend, last minute call, and they would call before they came just to let us know they were coming.  They did call and they were at our house by three.  If you're lucky enough to get Angel, he knew what to do and out in forty minutes after giving me options, quoting the price and fixing the problem.  Angel came in super clean truck, looked like an EMT person, impeccably dressed and every bit the professional.  Dependable plumbing from now on first.

When it comes to the trades, my family is the most fussy, particular client ever -- and that's because my father is a contractor.  When we're faced with a plumbing situation beyond our capability (i.e. getting a camera to check a main sewer line), we call Dependable.  

Their knowledge base, attention to detail, and cleanliness is unmatched.  We were referred by another family member, having seen them replace sewer lines on two jobs, as well as address a small clog for another family friend.  Each time, the quality of the work remained the same -- very high.

They were perfectly on schedule for our appointment, we received a call when they were en route, and today's job was handled with ease.  In fact, we're already lining them up for two more projects.  Many thanks to Andrew, Nate, and Joseph for their great help!!

I strongly advise against doing business with Dependable Rooter and Plumbing. Two negative facts describe my experience with them. One is their exorbitant and unreasonable prices. Their bill of $22,700 was for replacement of a bathroom tub, partial payment of tub wall surrounds, vanity cabinet and sink, toilet, porcelain tile flooring and base boards, wall paint, built-in fan, mirror, and three small dry wall sections.

This company charged 55% profit on their materials and additionally inflated labor charges. Their stated reason is that they pay for training and drug-testing of their employees.

I believe that customers expect a vendor's employees to come to work trained to do the job and sober. These two factors are not special amenities costing an extra 55 percent.

The second negative is that my signature, obtained under duress, was attached to a contract, which I never signed. I had a one and only personal meeting in the occupied job-site apartment with the company's representative.  During this meeting he said that he would immediately reinstall the toilet, which had been removed by a previous contractor. The tenants were using facilities in a nearby vacant apartment. When I left the meeting, unresolved regarding the company's work, the representative followed me to my car and insisted that I sign an electronic notebook in three separate rectangles. Nothing was printed on the notebook. I didn't want to sign, but I did, not wanting them to change their minds about reinstalling the toilet and thinking I might have another meeting with the company.  

I have now researched other contractors and found that Dependable Rooter and Plumbing's profit is far higher than others; in addition, this company attached my signature to a contract without my knowledge.

Pricey but the Best. Called on a Saturday to root the clogged drain (why does this sort of stuff always happen on weekends or holidays) These guys actually had a real person answer and scheduled an appointment.

Came on time and the work was impeccable. Arianna had been a foreman on her last job so the skill level was a lot higher than you would expect for a Saturday drain clog.

These guys are the Rolls Royce of service plumbing - Pricey, but good.

Yay to Dependable Rooter for coming out within an hour of my call to repair a water pipe we punctured (and when I say 'we', I mean the husband).
When you have a plumbing emergency, you really don't have the option of  screening multiple plumbers.  That's what Yelp is great for.  
David and Alonso showed up in uniform, put on their signature pink booties and assessed the damage.  I thought it would be a difficult fix since the puncture occurred behind the drywall on the 2nd floor.  Within about 30 mins he was able to cut a small section of the drywall, find the leak and a way to do the repair by cutting and replacing a 3 foot section of pipe visible from the 1st floor.  He gave us an estimate based on a price sheet that they use. They do not have an hourly charge, but use flat rates based on services and materials. The only damage for us was to replace the small section of drywall that was removed. Most plumbers don't fix drywall.
They were professional, NEAT and CLEAN, and personable.  They explained the work to be done and answered all our questions.  They are my new go to plumbers the next time we need a plumber.

I would highly recommend them to anyone. We had our kitchen sink clog last night and I was about ready to try and unclog it myself... not a good idea. So, I looked for a plumber this morning and found Dependable. I had never used them before, but thought I would give them a try. I called and the guy who answered was super nice and helpful. They had a opening same day and said Sam would be here between 10-12. SWEET!

He showed up at 10:15, well nice! He was very professional, had a mask on and put covers over his shoes before he came into the house. He walked me though step-by-step what he was doing and showed me photos of what needed to be done. He was not a car salesman... thank goodness! He was honest and explained what he thought needed to be done and he got to work. I had a ton for calls for work, so he just worked around me and was extremely nice about trying to be quiet, even though he did not have to be. He completed the job in about an hour and a half, did exactly what he said he was going to, and the cost was fair and I felt he did a wonderful job. He cleaned up and explained everything to me. All-in-all it was a wonderful experience and I got my sink back!

I would say if you need an honest company... call them, they are not the car salesman type and you will be happy with the professional service you will receive. And,. Sam our tech was amazing, so if you get him you are lucky he was great and knows his stuff.

Andrew, i'm sorely disappointed in your service and my customer experience! Last week you came out and grossly overcharged me and my husband. Not only was the cost obscene, you and your team did not solve our issue (backed up shower drain). Additionally, you caused extra damage (due to putting a high power jetter into our cleanout, causing water back up in our laundry piping - these pipes were NEVER the problem). I called a second plumber (costing additional $$ but a fraction of your charge) who came out, went to our shower, and successfully unclogged it within minutes.

Finally, the additional quotes (between $7,000 and $27,000) to attempt to up-charge me for ALL new copper pipes is not genuine at all.

I experienced a leak in my ceiling after a huge storm in December and Dependable Rooter and Plumbing was quick to respond.  Their operation was top notch throughout from the intake process to their service technician's work.  There were 2 teams working on my place - the plumbing team - Javier and Angel as well as the wall/ceiling patch team - Julio.  The team diagnosed the problem, provided estimates and completed the work as expected!  They rock!

From the response time, Dependable Rooter was amazing. They were the first to reach out to me in setting up an appointment. Liz was very friendly on the phone and following up on the appointment. Angel came on time and he was very professional. He explained to me the things he was going to fix. He told me the price to fix the problem and I was totally surprised. I questioned the charges and Angel contacted the dispatcher about the charges. Even though the price came down few $ but still too pricey. I should have given them 5 Stars with the great customer service and Angel overall finished works except the cost was just too high in comparison with other plumbing companies.

We had a shower drain that was too clogged for me to clear.  We called Dependable to have them come out and fix it.  Taylor came out and not only fixed the drain, but he also found another issue during their free inspection.  We had a failed bathtub faucet that was shooting some water back toward the wall.  That could have developed into a much bigger issue if Taylor had not fount and repair it for us.  He also educated me on a few different things for keeping my drain pipes clear.  I definitely recommend using Dependable for any of your plumbing needs!  Thanks again Taylor for all your help!!

Review, part two: As most of you know, problems occasionally pop up. How a company handles that problem is huge. In my case, there was a small-ish problem with the job that Richard completed yesterday. It could not have been detected until the water heater had a chance to heat up yesterday evening. I've hired Dependable Rooter for 2 jobs and I've been nothing but pleased with the quality of work and service I've gotten. They've exceeded all other contractors I've worked with in terms of professionalism and quality of work.

The first job I hired them for was a broken drain pipe in my second floor bathroom that caused extensive water damage to my first floor kitchen. Their response rate was exceptional. As someone who was trying to juggle multiple contractors at the same time, having their quick response and on-time scheduling really made the situation more manageable. They are really knowledgeable and will explain to you in detail what they're doing so you know what you're paying for. For example, the previous contractors that worked on my house mis-installed my bathtub's p-trap - this explains why the whole thing looked like a pretzel to begin with. The end result was a much cleaner install and with much better materials.

The second job was a complete overhaul of my plumbing system. Since I had the walls gutted from the first job, I took the opportunity to create new plumbing for a future bathroom addition which involved having to redo all the plumbing. I am definitely a person who notices details and I appreciated all the work they did from beginning to end, including the little things in between. The whole first floor was properly covered with the necessary materials to prevent floor damage and the furniture/appliances from getting dust on them. In the walls, metal plates were placed over the studs to prevent accidentally drilling into them if you need to install shelves, cabinets, etc. When redoing the laundry faucets and drain, they made both boxes level without me even having to make the request. When removing the drywall, they were sure to cut the drywall halfway over the studs so that the drywall contractor could have a good place to screw the new drywall in afterwards. Even was mistakes were made (and that's to be expected from any job), they were very transparent in calling them out and correcting them. After each day, the crew was always diligent in cleaning everything up and leaving the house in order.

Dependable Rooter's craftsmanship is top notch. Their service comes with professionalism and a high respect for your time and money. I highly recommend them.

We recently had a water heater installed and the person came out to look at our issue, took measurements and gave us a quote.  When they came back to install the water heater they had to cut open the dry wall of the ceiling in our garage. They told us they would come back and fix it. When we called they told us we would be charged to fix the drywall and that was not included as a line item on the original quote. We should not be responsible for repairing dry wall based on measurements and install that they completed. They never told us that we were going to have to pay extra to fix the dry wall.  To be fair, we love our new water heater, but the job is incomplete and they won't fix it.

Excellent company. We have a large yard with a complicated drainage system that has some problems. Andrew came out and worked for ages to troubleshoot the entire system. While they were here, we just happened to discover a small indoor plumbing issue that they happily helped us with as well.  I highly recommend them.

I called several different plumbing companies asking for a quote on replacing the wax ring on my toilet. This company was the only one who refused to give a quote, they would not even give a price range. From my interaction I would not trust them to have fair pricing, especially because they say they have fair pricing but they refuse to give a quote.

I'll stick to the basics.  We had a sewer line clog.  A gent from Dependable came out, went under the house to scope out our pipes.  Said we have a 1-way clean out.  True.  He said code calls for 4 clean outs.  I looked at the municipal code for our city - I do not see anything in the code that calls for multiple clean outs (our house is a standard sized rancher).  He said given the length of our house, and the complex layout of our cast iron pipes (hmm....), he recommended putting two cleanouts in.  How much?  $2,400 for each clean out.  We should also have them power wash off the gunk with a sewer jetter.  Makes sense.  How much?  $600.  So 1 cleanout + snake the clog + power wash = $3,000.  Add in the 2nd recommended clean out = $5,400.  Got it.  He also said that given the age of our cast iron pipes (42 years), that we probably will need to replace them.  He might be right about that.  Ok....how much?  $24,000.  Ok.  Got it.

The first question he asked when he arrived is: are you looking to stay in the house long term, or are you looking to sell?  While one could argue that this is a logical question, given the above context, that feels like a sales qualifying question to determine how big he can go in the sales pitch...in terms of 1) how many sewer line services he can sell, and 2) the price per service.  I'm guessing the zip code may also play into the price quote.  

Decided to get a 2nd opinion/price from another 5-star company.  They said: one clean out will do it.  We don't need 2...much less 3 or 4.  How much?  Clean out install + snake clog + power jet walls = $1,500.  So half the price from Dependable.  I think this price is good, but not unusually so.  I had talked to a 3rd reputable plumbing company in Mountain View who said putting a new clean out in ranges from $800 - $1,200, depending on how deep they have to dig.  Our sewer pipes are not abnormally deep.  The company we used had to move some sprinkler pipes, and they replaced a leaking valve with a new ball lever (yeah!), all within the $1,500.  So my take is the price from Dependable was the aberration, as well as the push for us to put in multiple clean outs.  As for comments like the complex layout of our pipes contributing to the need for additional clean outs, I'll leave that to the reader to decide.  

Re: the $24k quote to replace the sewer line, we have a quote from a reputable trenchless sewer company for much less than that (well below $20k).

I'm giving a 2nd star because I think the gentleman technically knows his stuff.  I appreciated that he went under the house to scope things out, and he took a camera to the lateral sewer line to understand the situation from home to the street.  I just think their pricing is out of line, and some of their sales tactics are on the sketchy side.

These guys are not for smaller tasks. I needed to fix leaking faucet. I had instructions from manufacturer on the steps to perform which were straightforward. The visiting technician was not even willing to open faucet handle to identify problem. Just by visual inspection he recommended replacing whole faucet and gave very high estimate for replacing cartridge that costs probably 20-30$. They charge high fee upfront so when technician is not even willing to make any effort to identify issue thats taking advantage of the customer.

My tenant's ( brand new dental office on Blossom Hill Road) toilet and sink were clogged. Owner Andrew and his team arrived on COMMITED TIME, they checked all the toilets and sinks, and determined a possible local 3 drain pipe might be blocked. They removed the toilet, place a camera to diagnose the problem is toilet debris accumulated in the line  ( he explained sometimes cast iron pipes cracked, or tree root block the line ),  then the team snaked the line, and cleaned up the clog, then reinstalled toilet, the toilet room  is clean and fresh like used to be, no mess, no water, no smell. That kind of service I am looking for, on time, do diagnosis, one shot quickly fix the problem, and doing clean and neat job.
I will strongly recommended  Dependable Rooter and Plumbing for all your pluming needs. I will hire them again and again.

These guys were great! I appreciated the text with a photo of the repairman who was coming to my house.  They were thorough in discussing all of the options on my repairs.  They were very careful and neat while doing the repair job and left the bathroom cleaner than they found it.  I loved that they double checked the job to make sure that all of the work was done properly.  They arrived on time and were accurate in their assessment of the time needed to do the repairs.  I interacted with several of their employees and found them to be easy to work with and likable.  Thanks Dependable Rooter & Plumbing for a job well done!

Unbelievably expensive.  Wanted to charge me 750.00 to install a plunger and a shower handle, all of the parts were supplied and everything was taken apart all they had to do was install.  I would NOT recommend them, to add insult to injury they charged me 59.00 to give me an estimate.  What a bunch of rip-off artists.

Called for an estimate the company throwing many red flags right of the bat. Won't give an estimate over the phone which is fine I understand you want to give an accurate estimate. Informed them I don't even know what I want is possible so I have a photo with a circle on it can i text or email it? She said I can email it and maybe her supervisor might look at it when he gets a chance. Again I am just trying to see if what I want is even possible and if so about how much. She then says she can send someone out. I informed her I just want a free estimate and she said they only send someone out for an $89 assessment fee so I guess no free ballpark estimates anymore not even over the phone? Or even helping someone out by looking at a photo & saying yes it's possible or no it's not? Company had good reviews so wanted to get them to do the home addition I am doing but not with these red flags straight off the bat. I've been in the trades for over 15 years we always and still do free estimates over the phone & take a look at people's picture texts & emails for them, so I am going to avoid. Fast response, made a through inspection of my issue (backed up toilet, uck!!) including checking drain pipes in basement and crawl space, explained the issues they saw and suggested multiple options, explaining the +'s and -'s (and costs) of each.  And to top it off they were more picky about tracking dirt into the house from outside or the basement than I am!  lol  

Ariana, my service tech, was great and I recommend you ask if she is available (she can also recommend some great vegan restaurants if you are interested!)

I called at 1130 with an emergency toilet issue and spoke with a very professional and helpful Francesca! By 1245, Andrew and Zachary were at my front door. They did a quick assessment of my home and had a lot of high tech gadgets, like a camera that went down our pipes, to help identify where my blockage was occurring. They essentially blasted the blockage away with a high pressure line and by 1415 my family was able to use our bathroom!

Sweet Relief! We had a major leak in our commercial building, and after being tossed around to different leak detection specialists, plumbers, restoration specialists, and contractors... We noticed a leak coming from our water heater on Friday.  Dependable Rooter had an appointment for 8am on Saturday.  We were contacted about 30min before the start of the appointment to confirm they were on their way.  Andrew and Zack arrived promptly and started assessing the issue.  They tried a repair, informed us they would try to RMA the water heater as it was a defect in the unit.  A few hours later we were again notified they were on their way back to our house.  They got the new water installed fairly quickly.  There are no leaks and the water heater is working as expected.  Andrew made sure to point out where the old unit was leaking so we can watch if the new unit has an issue.  They also adjusted the position of the expansion tank.  

Great service!  Andrew and Zack were very professional and got the work done quickly.  They also made sure the work area was neat after the job was completed.

Just completed the last phase of a whole house repipe: new high pressure gas line, tankless water heater, recirculation system, a sump pump in the basement, all new copper piping, and new washer/dryer hookups. This is the second major job that Dependable has done for us. Again, their work was impeccable. The gas line required coordination wit h PG&E, and proved far more challenging than expected. But Andrew, his techs, and the office staff remained engaged and determined throughout the entire process. It obvious they take real pride in their work, as they should. It's worth every penny.

I called Dependable to look at what I thought was a faulty garbage disposal. They sent over Pedro who quickly determined that the disposal was fine but pointed out an issue with the sink that I had no idea was at the verge of leaking. He also fixed our tub spout which was leaking. Pedro was very friendly and efficient. I'm very happy with the service and will call Dependable again should then need arise. Hopefully, I'll be able to work with Pedro again as well!

I am very happy with the work done by Dependable rooter and plumbing.Here is a bit of my story. Thursday night my water heater caught fire in my garage. On Friday morning I called Dependable rooter and plumbing, since the moment they answered me on the phone, Francisca was very friendly and helpful. In half an hour Andrew was at my house giving me information about the services and options for water heather that they offer, Andrew took the time to explain each of the costs, benefits and disadvantages helping me choose the best option. One of the things that impressed me was the constant communication, how fast and efficient the service was. On Saturday I was able to have water again, being able to bring my family back to my house. Andrew was very professional, he took many photos since he started his work, which helped me to have everything well documented. Their technicians were available to answer any questions I had. I am very impressed with how fast and efficient everyone in the company was. The finished jobs looks amazing we can tell someone takes pride on what they do.

be aware that they charge $79 onsite trip for estimation. In the initial call, they asked did you call us before and did we mention $79 trip charge? I said no, I did not call before. And they end up charging me the estimation fee which is fine since Ariana did help me find some other issues non related with this project. Just be aware if you are concerned about this charge before you make any call or decision.

Truly appreciate the honesty and experience of the technician that came out to clear our drain today. We had a partially obstructed toilet drain that we were unable to clear ourselves. Dependable was able to schedule the same day, assess the issue, give me my options and pricing scenarios based on their opinion of the issue. I felt comfortable with the technician in my house, he clearly had significant knowledge in his line of work.
