My water heater wasn't working, the pilot went out. The manufacturer sent me a new part free, just needed someone to install it as soon as it arrived. Called American River Plumbing, they responded quickly, came out the next day and got the job done! Great service and such a nice and friendly father/son team. I'll be calling them again for my future water heater or plumbing needs.

Having a clogged kitchen sink is never a good thing, but George & son John made quick work of clearing the clog.  They were very prompt, arriving right on time.  They were also very professional, knowing exactly what to do, and very courteous.  The fee was as promised & very reasonable.  I highly recommend them.

Best plumber in town!! George is extremely professional and knowledgeable. His prices are very reasonable, and much lower than other plumbing companies. Pride in ownership is evident. We also LOVE how kind and caring he is.

This is by far and away the most honest and reliable company I have ever dealt with. Very fair prices, George and his son John actually do all the work. So no outside labor, they do it all themselves. So if you need a plumbing company these guys are the best, wish I could give them more stars.

George was great!  We had a toilet with a leak (very annoying & I couldn't get it corrected myself).  George arrived at the time we agreed, corrected the issue quickly and charged a fair rate. I would recommend his services.

I have used George on several different plumbing jobs on my own house as well as a rental home and he's just great.  Professional, congenial, and a damn fine plumber to boot.  You will not be disappointed.  Prompt service and fair prices, too.

This is my 2nd review of American River Plumbing and I've just had another 5 star experience. This time they replaced my ice maker water line and shut off valve. John was prompt, polite and professional; just like last time. It is truly a pleasure doing business with ARP and I promise you will not be disappointed with using them for your plumbing needs.

I am doing a very long overdue review.  I have been working with George at American River Plumbing for over 11 years now.  He installed a new sink, faucet and dishwasher at my prior home and I was very happy with the work.  Since then, in my new home, he is still my go-to for plumbing issues.  We recently had to replace the hot water heater and he did an EXCELLENT job and explained everything to me as he was doing it.  I really appreciate that extra step.  Today, I called him as all of a sudden our hot water in the main bath shower is not working (it's trickling).  Hot water working fine everyone else.  I am looking forward to getting schedule to get this fixed and I know he will do a great job.  I have also recommend him to several neighbors and they are also very happy with American River Plumbing.

Very please with American River Plumbing.  I have had John out to install 2 bathroom faucets, a toilet, a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal.  John was punctual, professional and proficient.  Pricing is fair and work is exceptional.  Highly recommend.

After having countertops installed we needed a plumber to re-hookup our sink, dishwasher and garbage disposal. American River Plumbing said this was something they could do for us. The technician arrived and began to do the work. He said he was the son of the owner. He was very professional and courteous. After completing the work and preparing for departure, he brought to our attention that he was unable to get power to the dishwasher or the garbage disposal. We said that everything had been working perfectly prior to the countertops being installed and were puzzled why they wouldn't work. He suggested that maybe it is a fuse in the breaker box or other electrical issue. He then suggested we call an electrician to fix the problem. We explained again that everything was working perfectly, and only needed to be re-hooked up and were so puzzled why both the garbage disposal and dishwasher wouldn't work. We asked him if he could recommend an electrician and we could call. We thanked him and paid him. Again, he was courteous and professional and thanked us.

Shortly thereafter, I received a text message from American River Plumbing for an electrician recommendation. The electrician came out the next day for just a few minutes and got everything working. The electrician said that he can't charge us for any parts or labor as there weren't any parts or labor to perform and that they would only charge for the service call. Then he proceeded to ask if the plumber was to be billed or us. At that point we were puzzled by the question and said us and that the plumber only provided the electrician recommendation. We then asked what the problem was as to why there was no power to the garbage disposal and dishwasher and they said it didn't get hooked up/connected and that caused it not to work. At this point it clearly seemed that the call to the electrician was unnecessary and was probably an issue the plumber should have performed or double checked prior to leaving.

We later followed up with the owner of American River Plumbing to explain what happened and asked if he might consider covering the cost of the electrician's service call. He said no, only if we had purchased the garbage disposal from him. We were so confused and explained that we had the plumber come out to simply re-hook up the new sink and existing garbage disposal and dishwasher. The owner just kept saying that if they supplied the garbage disposal then they would cover the electrician's service call. In this situation, this argument made no sense and we could clearly hear he wanted to get rid of us. We are reasonable people, and had the owner simply seemed at all interested in our concern, he could have said let me check with my technician or even let me follow up with the electrician and see what happened and I'll get back to you. Really, anything that would show us that we matter as customers and that it mattered that we were dissatisfied and would look into that.

Whether the plumber's work involved a mistake or an oversight, this would not even matter at this point. I was the sheer lack of customer service. Unfortunately, for us, we ran into an issue and the lack of customer service was revealed. We were disappointed by this.

George and his team fixed my backup. My sewage pump was clogged and this amazing team got it working. They were responsive and did a great jab. Thank you for answering the phone, coming out the same day, and getting this fixed quickly. My mom and I are thankful.

George and his two sons offered top notch, professional service. They were very knowledgeable, thorough, and personable- all at a reasonable price. I will absolutely call them again if needed in the future.

I called American River Plumbing.  John was out the very next day.  He was on time, friendly and professional.  He fixed the problem. Showed me where the line clogged and why, also the price was so reasonable.
I love the fact that this is a family  business.  That they are really working for you and not just trying to make more money off the situation!

Clog in the toilet on Christmas Eve.  First thing in the morning, day after Christmas, I called American River Plumbing and they were here within the hour.  These are my new go-to guys whenever I have a plumbing issue.  I couldn't be more pleased.

We 100% recommend George's Company - American River Plumbing and his employee - Billy.  We contacted ARP for an odor coming from under our house (subfloor).  Billy came out to do the work he was scheduled for  and found some other issues that could become a bigger issue if he hadn't made us aware of it.  We are very appreciative of Billys forthrightness.  They explained the other issues they found after they got into the job.  When we bought this house the previous owner had a tenant who did some weird repairs, remodel work that turns out wasn't correct.  We completely stand behind their about on their webpage on their principles of fairness, honesty and integrity.  Billy completely exemplified the phrase ' Customers are viewed as an extension fo this family.. George and Billy are the Best!!!

John and his brother were just out here to replace a broken garbage disposal and a malfunctioning kitchen sink faucet. They arrived promptly, with a new Insinkerator, and installed both the disposal and faucet in an efficient manner. Before leaving, they made certain everything was working properly, verified there were no leaks, explained all the parts/pieces we might need later, and cleaned up the area. All for an very reasonable price. I can highly recommend this company, without any hesitation.

500pluscalls later and George and his son are still doing and Grade A job every time.

Our plumber was busy so I went to Yelp for help. After reading the wonderful reviews for AR Plumbing I called them to fix a kitchen sink/DW drain leak. George answered all my questions and scheduled my job within a couple days. I am not sure if it was his son who came to my home, but the young man who arrived was friendly, courteous, informative, and quick. He fixed my drain issue in less than an hour and the rate was extremely reasonable. I would recommend AR Plumbing and use their services again when in need.

Had a great experience with this company. Fast appointment, showed up on time, friendly technicians who kept me informed throughout the process, and most importantly, very affordable when compared to other big name companies in the area. Couldn't ask for better service and I'm always happy to support small local businesses. Highly recommended!

I cannot speak more highly of this company. They are a family-owned business, are extremely professional, experienced, and very straight forward. They were the 4th plumbing company to come out to resolve a leaking sink in my bathroom (the 1st plumber incorrectly installed it) & they did so quickly & at a good price. I almost didn't want to write the review as they'll be on speed dial for all my subsequent plumbing needs (& don't want to have to wait ).

I had a great experience. After being without our water heater for 10 days (no other company wanted to install a second floor unit or get an approval from our home warranty co), Am River agreed to take the job on. Friday afternoon, and we had hot water by Tuesday morning. Very grateful for their professional, expertise and speediness.

Doing a remodel on our kitchen and needed new everything installed from garbage disposal to faucets. George did a great job was on time and explained in detail the entire job!  Very professional outfit from super clean vehicles to uniforms. Will use again if needed and recommend to everyone.

My Fair Oaks plumber of 20 years does not do Tankless Water Heater installs.  I asked him Can you recommend a small business, family owned company, to install a tankless?  He said, I refer all the work I cannot do, or chose not to do, to American River Plumbing in Citrus Heights.

This was my first time working with American River Plumbing and it was a very pleasant experience.  The process started out with getting general information and a quote from George, the owner of the company (20+ years in business for himself, 40 years total as a plumber).  His sons, John and Mike came out to do the install.  They were courteous and answered all my questions, and I ask a lot of them.  They never made me feel like I was taking up their valuable time with my inquiries.   Everything went smoothly with the Rinnai Tankless Gas Outside unit install.  I've had a couple questions afterwards, since the install, and John has been prompt in getting back to me.  Personal, friendly, responsive service is something that is becoming rarer and rarer to find these days.  I highly recommend George, John, and Mike to people looking for honest, responsive, experienced plumbing professionals.

I recently had a gas leak in my water heater, which someone visiting my home smelled in the garage. I ended up calling PG&E's emergency number and they showed up within 60 mins and immediately found the cause of the leak. Long story short, I ended up calling American River Plumbing to fix a toilet issue and to also look at my water heater for a consult. When I called to make the appointment, a younger's male voice answered my call. I mentioned I was looking for someone with experience. The voice replied, Well, that would be my dad. He's been in the business for 45 years. Whoops.:-) Anyway, George and son, John, replaced my ancient water heater that was long overdo for replacement. I was very happy with the work and the professionalism. Plus, I really like that this is a family-owned operation in my own neighborhood! I found a new plumber for future problems. I highly, highly recommend this local business! I did my research (like I always do) and was not disappointed!
