Re: Clients property
I received your email on Thursday
R&L did not perform the work shown in the Invoice sent by R&L.
R&L sent an employee to get an idea of the work required and quoted about $2,000. This was comparable to other quotes we received and R&L was selected for the assignment.
When workers from R&L arrived late, during which several occupants of the building were present, the plumber that showed up looked at #143 and refused to do the work.
Late that same day, the owner of the business, Larry, showed up to looked at what needed to be done. Larry said they couldn't honor their quote and that if they did an hour of investigatory work they could requote.
We permitted the workers to do an hour of work on an investigatory basis to requote the work - during which the dishwasher in # 143 was pulled out and a hole was made in the drywall behind the dishwasher. The workers were unable to figure out with a test where the leak was. The workers left and sent a higher quote over to Birke (one of the building owners) which we declined to take them up on.
R&L did not request a permit or manage inspection of any work, because they NO WORK was completed, either in the bathroom of #145 or the sink in #143.
Beware of this company!

This is by far the easiest and most efficient company I've ever used to help fix plumbing issues around my house. They answered the phone after the first ring and even did their best to accommodate me that very day although I called 15 minutes before closing. My plumber Sal was there right at 8:30am the next morning however, and soon had my stopped up tub working again. He did a very quick and professional job, and I would certainly hire him again in the future.

We had a superb experience. These guys are true professionals and not just when it comes to their knowledge of plumbing issues, but also how they treat their customers. They listened closely to us and then proceeded with an approach and solved our issue. Thanks guys!

Great guys, even though they said dishwashers weren't their specialty, they came out on time, looked at the problem and provided a quick fix. Will use them again, so should you.

Alec has saved me from my house built in 1929 time and time again. Over the last six years he has done everything from repairing broken pipes, constantly running toilets, dripping faucets to installing a new tankless water heater and installing new bathroom fixtures. Alec is the best!

Been living in San Mateo for 18 years, I've used many different plumbers. Emilio's the best - responsive, on time, courteous, efficient and well priced. If you have a blockage problem in your plumbing, this is the guy.

We called several plumbers, left numerous voice messages, and Jarred was the first one to respond letting us know he'd be able to come over. Jarred arrived right on time, introduced himself, and started to put on his shoe covers. From the get go, our 1st impression of Jarred was very good. Jarred began asking me questions about our plumbing issue and was able to quickly proceed with his troubleshooting. We're very impressed with his thoroughness explaining to us the cause of the problem and his recommendations. He hasn't completed the job yet, but so far we're very pleased with what Jarred has done and we're confident he will do a thorough job fixing our plumbing issue. Very highly recommended.

I am completely happy with Albert Hall and would recommend him to anyone who needs a good, reliable plumber. I have used him twice, and find him dependable, knowledgable, and efficient. Plumbing calls are never inexpensive, but I find his charges reasonable and the value is excellent.
Plus...he's got a great personality and customer service manner.

Cesar and his team are very reliable experts in their line of work and do a great job at finding the root cause of plumbing issues and fixing them. Reasonable pricing, but most important - Cesar and his team are very prompt in responding and arriving on time. I will highly recommend him to call this team whenever you are in need.

Called plumber on Saturday morning to fix our backed up drain in the kitchen. He came out within the hour and fixed it lickety split. The cost for the fix was reasonable. He accepts cash/checks only. What we thought would be a hassle turned out to be just a hiccup in our day.

I had a minor issue with my shower in my apartment, and I called on Max to come check it out. Max was prompt, cheerful, and really helpful!
He came in, helped diagnose the issue, and laid out a variety of options depending on my desired timeframe. Since it was close to Thanksgiving, and he had other jobs to run - he recommended me where I could go pick up the required parts so I could get the job completed faster. He then made some time to return to reassemble the shower for me - illustrating and teaching me along the way so that I'd be able to explain the issue to my landlord.
I'm very thankful for Max's help and had a really great experience. Would recommend!

Fancy Dancy Plumbing is what you get with these guys.
Nice green trucks, nice uniforms, super attentive follow-up from their office.....
However . . . they make no bones about being a top-drawer outfit, and they can turn a mole hill into a mountain if you don't watch out.
In my case, I had a leaky kitchen faucet and a water hammer (pipe knocking.) I called in, and TWO plumbers showed up, a nice lady named Victoria and a guy. They looked at my sink, then said they had to crawl under the house. So they BOTH suited up in these white HAZMAT looking suits, and crawled under the house, banging around for about a half hour. With serious faces, they told me I needed to completely replace my flaky galvanized piping and that it would cost, ball park, around $15K! I said whoa wait a minute. I just have a leaky faucet and a water hammer happening.... I'm not about to spend $15K for new pipes!. At that point Victoria got back under the sink with a wrench, and in about two minutes, tightened up the fittings, and voila: no more leak, no more water hammer.
So in the end, it was a happy ending. Problem solved, for $89!
These guys are high end and want to fix things to the max. Just make sure if you hire them that you keep them focussed on the job at hand, and steer them clear of trying to replumb your entire house!

I talked to Heiko about replacing my sewer lateral. He did a quick camera view as part of the estimate and got me an estimate the next day. It wasn't super cheap, but reasonable, and after talking to a couple companies I have the impression that Pipe Spy does very solid work with no corners cut.
They did most of the work in a single day, and had the hole paved and cleaned up the next day. All in all pretty painless.

Well, the temporary fix didn't last as long as we anticipated. Last night when I ran my bath the water flow was significantly slower than it had been and when I went to wash my hands after putting cream on my legs, no water came out of the faucet. Outside I heard the sound of water, although not as strongly as the night before. I got a flashlight and went outside to check and there was water coming out of the pipe. We've been fortunate that neither time did the garage flood. There's a drain set into the driveway that runs the length of the garage door and that carried most of the water away. Derek had told me to call him day or night if there were problems, so I went back in the house and called him, leaving a message. It was a bit after midnight. Then I called East Bay MUD again to come out and turn off the water, which they did less than an hour later. Derek called me back immediately and we made arrangements for him to come out after he finished a job he had in the morning. He estimated he would be out around 1:00 in the afternoon. Shortly after 1:00 he called to say he was leaving Home Depot w/ the part for the permanent fix. He fixed it, ran the water to get the bubbles out and refused to charge more than we had paid the day before. Our experience w/ Derek has been stellar each time.
In addition to fixing the leak, he told me that what I had thought was the water meter was just dirt, that the meter was next to it. I had never wondered about the two meters. I decided to plant something in the space w/ the dirt and at my request Derek removed the lid and put it in the garage. Now I have to figure out what to plant there.

Truly truly truly great. Bob and team seem to know that backflow testing isn't something a property owner loves... but it is something we need to do. So he's made it simple by using technology to make appointment reminders and scheduling easy. And he's made it pleasant. If you happen to be around, Bob is fun and interesting to talk with. 5 stars for the three As: AAA Backflow Testing!
