Rocky from R&L plumbing was awesome. we had a toilet clogged from a bar of soap that fell in it and needed someone to help ASAP. Rocky came out at the time promised, was super pleasant, described what needed to be done and did it. All done in about 20 minutes and something we definitely could not have done on our own. Thank you Rocky and R&L plumbing!

A couple days ago I had a serious problem with my toilet late at night and without any inconvenience I contacted Miss Paula and she scheduled an appointment for me immediately, answering my call very generously although I was super upset for the inconvenience, and the service was really great.

So I put potato skins down the drain and clogged our garbage disposal -- don't do that. From prior experiences with plumbers, I was expecting long wait times and super sky-high fees.

R&L was able to respond same-day. Our technician was extremely courteous (he brought shoe covers as soon as he saw that we were a no-shoes household), judgment-free (helpful esp. given the circumstance), and fast. We were able to get things fixed in an hour or less.

The bill was extremely reasonable compared to my expectations as well, especially for same-day service. I hope I don't have to call a plumber anytime soon but will call R&L again if anything does come up!

HUGE shout out and thanks to R & L plumbing. I live in a 7-story condo building and there was a clog in our main drain servicing the kitchens to the units in one of the stacks  After a few missteps they sent out Thomas and his partner Gustavo who both were really a gigantic step above your normal plumbers. Their attention to detail & determination to make sure all is right before they leave is really A-1plus, First Class service. On top of that they are both warm, caring, delightful human beings. When they finished they not only left us with sinks that now drain, they also left a bit of their positive good energy with us as well......what a treat!

Sabrina, the dispatch supervisor and Darren, our building's R&L project supervisor contact are both incredible as well. They are quick to schedule, keep you informed if any changes in arrival estimation & super responsive to any and all concerns you may have. Customer service care extraordinaire!

Rene did an amazing job unclogging my bathroom tub and sink - highly recommend! He was in and out within an hour, was super friendly, and left no mess behind while doing a fantastic job at fully taking care of the clogs. I'd refer R & L to anyone without hesitation.

I requested R&L to remove my very heavy bathtub. They sent one person and he could not  move the tub so called for another person who arrived about 30 minutes later. The supervisor that I spoke to said he would accommodate the loss of work time on my bill but that did not happen. They had to borrow my tools including a sledge hammer. I was charged for the additional person and thus the cost was 50% higher. I emailed and left a voice mail about the charges and indicating a compromise but my credit card was charged for the full amount anyway. The workers were courteous but did not arrive with appropriate tools or information. I will not ever use this company again. Beware!

Toilet clogs suck. So I decided to reach out to Larry, the owner of R&L Plumbing and surprisingly they were able to schedule an appointment within 2 hours even though they were busy due to all the leakage and drainage issues that the bomb cyclone caused. Doug was the plumber who came and he was able to unclog my toilet immediately but he also checked my other toilets, sinks, and showers for any other clogging. He unclogged one of my sinks and replaced the flushing units for another toilet. He was professional and friendly. If you ever need a prompt and knowledgeable plumber, R&L plumbing is the way to go. Big shouts out to Larry, Doug, and Carmen for your 5 star service.

Very expensive and charged more than the hourly rate that I was quoted. Had to contact them multiple times to get it resolved and even then they did not acknowledge their mistake. The plumber that showed up was ok but very slow. The back-office billing people are hard to reach and not responsive. Trying to get someone on the phone was complicated and frustrating. They have lots of phone tree voicemail greetings and automated text message systems and automated emails but they do not simply answer the phone to provide basic customer service. Never again.

We always use R&L Plumbing at our commercial properties and they are always responsive and problems solved professionally and clean work. I would definitely recommend them for any plumbing job.

Bozal saved me literally hundreds of dollars by texting me a video on how to easily repair my garbage disposal by myself. I fixed it in like 2 minutes. What a life saver, and so kind!!

Dont call this people! They are useless and will destroy your property. They dont know what they are doing. Save yourselves troubles took them 5 hours to destroy property. Unacceptable. Just useless.

I hired them last year to change medias in 3 large tanks in a high end home and they did the job very well.They took their time to make sure all 3 tanks were empty, cleaned and refilled properly.
They even brought a guy to pressure wash our garage due to the mess the carbon media made. No job is too big for this company! I will call them again for any plumbing job .

Can't recommend enough! R&L responded immediately late on a Monday night and were able to fix the problem shortly after. Reneé came over and worked extremely hard to fix a nasty clog and the toilet/shower were working good as new afterwards. Great service.

Sink was leaking and we got an immediate response and they fixed it super quick! Done in less than 30 mins

I called Saul as I very much needed help and clarification. Saul responded promptly and did all he could to accommodate my request. His team came and solved my problem in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely recommend calling Saul Zelaya at R & L and his team.

They try charge more hours than hours spent on the job. Their customer service also tries to justify the pricing and over charges a lot

Five stars isn't enough! R&L plumbing face timed me a saved my business! The toilet started to spray water at a alarming rate just like a cyclone or tornado. Tomorrow he will dispatch a plumber and get the toilet fixed. Unfortunately we needed to close for today but tomorrow is a new day and after it's all cleaned up we will open back up. From the bottom of my heart this business takes the cake for emergency calls! Totally recommended!  And I encourage you to call!

These guys are fantastic. Easy scheduling and eye for details. They came in highly recommended by our HOA. I've used them many times to fix plumbing emergency caused by shoddy contractors and to carry out many essential work necessary for meeting code. They had to also correct terrible work that was about to fail we were left with by the previous contractor. I'm very thankful for them and would recommend them to anyone wanting the job done right. They are prompt and reasonably priced too.

Rip off , scam artist. Sell you by telling you it is an hourly wage. Then send one guy, doesn't know much. Spends a ridiculous amount of time , no results . No wonder they charge hourly . If it was per job they would lose . Definitely don't recommend unless they give you a final price for the job. How does a drain cleaning cost $1800?!? Roughly . Not the final price ..... Let alone need three guys . They quoted me to hydro-clean the lines . I called another company , did it for half the rate one guy. No bullshit .

Look no further. Lorenzo and the team at R&L Plumbing are so responsive, so helpful and so fair its unbelievable. They have fixed kitchen plumbing for me, replaced garbage disposals, all in record time, at short notice, and at great rates. They do everything to help you figure out if its a simple problem you can fix yourself (to save you money) and if you even need to hire them at all. They are great. Choose these guys.

I've never used yelp before but felt compelled after receiving excellent service from R&L. We're actually still in the midst of figuring out the radiator noise issue in our apartment complex however this company has been amazingly responsive (within minutes to hours) to emails and phone calls, including on the weekends. Excellent customer service and I just wanted to add my kudos for their professionalism, customer service, kindness and commitment to getting my radiator noise issue resolved.

I had two leaks and a clogged sink today. Ismael arrived on time and handled it all. He was friendly, patient and explained everything so I could understand. Sabrina is always great with the scheduling also. Highly recommend R&L plumbing!

Working with R&L Plumbing was a horrible experience. I requested a flat fee for installing two toilets which was provided to me and agreed upon by both parties (in writing). I requested this fee to be flat to avoid any issues with billing down the road.

Halfway through the job, the company tried to charge me much more because it was taking his technician longer than he wanted it to. On top of only half finishing the job, they installed a scratched toilet seat (which they're making right, thank you!). To date, the company has refused to settle on a final number for payment despite me making concessions and coming up from the quoted number we agreed prior to the job starting. He's hung up on me and refused to take phone calls to discuss.

He didn't install the second toilet because I wasn't comfortable having them come back into my home after how they've treated me on the phone and via text message. He's threatening to take this to small claims court and put a lien on my house even though I'm trying to come to a payment number both parties can agree on.  This company is not professional, I recommend staying away at all costs. He's unfortunately not an honest business person who sticks to written agreements.

R&L did not perform the work shown in the Invoice sent by R&L.

R&L sent an employee to get an idea of the work required and quoted about $2,000. This was comparable to other quotes we received and R&L was selected for the assignment.

When workers from R&L arrived late, during which several occupants of the building were present, the plumber that showed up looked at #143 and refused to do the work.

Late that same day, the owner of the business, Larry, showed up to looked at what needed to be done. Larry said they couldn't honor their quote and that if they did an hour of investigatory work they could requote.

We permitted the workers to do an hour of work on an investigatory basis to requote the work - during which the dishwasher in # 143 was pulled out and a hole was made in the drywall behind the dishwasher. The workers were unable to figure out with a test where the leak was. The workers left and sent a higher quote over to Birke (one of the building owners) which we declined to take them up on.  

R&L did not request a permit or manage inspection of any work, because they NO WORK was completed, either in the bathroom of #145 or the sink in #143.

Beware of this company!

My tenants called me on Friday night to let me know that the shower and kitchen drains were clogged. I called Larry @ R&L Plumbing who answered my call right away and got his team to call my tenants to scheduled a Saturday morning appointment.

My tenants were very happy with the service and in this time that we are all sheltered in place they felt safe with having R&L Plumbing inside the house wearing PPE gear.

We had a disastrous backup of the sewage system for a four house cul-de-sac late last night.  Needless to say, we were the lowest home so worst affected! I called late in the night, they responded immediately to the call, and arranged to come out first thing in the morning. They called me at 8, promised a time window, and their man promptly arrived. Jovan jumped in and immediately handled the problem!  He was courteous, intelligent, explained the situation and resolution clearly and respectfully - in short, he was great!  I will have no hesitation in using them again!

Just got off the phone with Larry, and the first thing I'd like to say is Please don't factor in the malicious review of this excellent company and Larry in particular when making your evaluations. He is indeed an honest and good person who while caring about his business will not set aside his personal values and principles of honesty and integrity to further it. No dout, as owner of  the business his values set the values of the organization.

I needed a bathroom faucet to be repaired. I dabble with small repairs myself, but I got to the point where I was unable to solve a problem of low flow. After a very brief conversation, Larry told me over the phone exactly what was going on, and what I needed to do to fix it. His first instinct was NOT to monetize his expertise, but to be helpful. He even asked me to send him some photographs of the faucet and continued to give me the benefit of his experiece. I may or may not be able to solve the problem, but I know that  his advice was spot on! In future if I or my family ever need his help he will be our trusted go-to service. Thank you Larry!

Since posting my last review, Larry the owner has reached out to me and scheduled an appointment to fix the scratch, which was more like a mark. The appointment happened today during the allotted time and was satisfactory.

Larry, Danilo and the entire staff are amazing!  They are professional and quick to act.  I had a plumbing emergency yesterday and they showed up ASAP.  The residents were extremely impressed with the quality service.

I needed an immediate at home fix. Called R & L Plumbing, told him my sink was not turning off. And he was able to instruct me on how to turn off the water! Amazing instantaneous results! Will call again for sure!!! Thank you!

Excellent service and company. We unfortunately discovered sewer water in our garage this afternoon. After learning that the city might not come out for up to 24 hours (note, the city guy arrived just 3 hours later), we called seven different plumbers. R&L was the only one to answer and offered to send someone over right away. Thomas arrived about 30 minutes after the call and was awesome. He quickly went to work, cleaned out the street line and also ensured other issues weren't set to occur anytime soon. He also cleaned up the area and confirmed all the work with me before leaving. While the backed up house trap was not fun, we are pleased to find a good company to use in the future. Thanks guys!

I scheduled an appointment for Monday of last week between 3-6 PM. I had to take time off work, which was very inconvenient, but we needed our garbage disposal fixed. The plumber never showed up, and I never got responses to my text messages about the appointment. I then called them to ask whether the plumber was on his way. They said they just found out about the appointment, and asked to schedule it another day. I was disappointed because this was another half a day I had to take time off work, but I agreed.

I then called them the day of the appointment to confirm the appointment (because I was taking time off work again, and I wanted to make sure they were actually coming). I called at 11am, confirming that the appointment would be between 12-1pm.

The lady on the phone was extremely rude, and responded with Didn't I just talk to you yesterday? Yes, nothing has changed since yesterday. I hung up and was about to head out to run some errands when the plumber showed up 1.5 hours early, when I could've easily not been home. He stayed for no longer than 5 minutes, but I was charged $149 for the hour.

1 star because of the lack of professionalism, and the extremely steep price.

The only positive is that the plumber who arrived at my apartment was extremely polite and helpful.

R&L came to my rescue many times this summer (2021) they are respectful, hard working and on time. I love how they auto text you a picture of who will be at your house so there's no mix-ups. I can my clean out jetted and also ended up having to get a whole new lateral line with them. Everything works great now!

Larry/Lorenzo gave me such great advice on what I needed to purchase to fix my sink. This guy knows what he is doing!! Super impressed

Great experience.  This is an old building with multiple units.  I was sure it would take forever.  Bob fixed the problem in a very short time.  Courteous, proficient and professional.

I'm so happy to see the owner Larry picks up his phone for yelp customers I had a problem with my toilet it kept on running I gave him photos and we did FaceTime he spent time with me and talk me through how to fix the toilet I went to the part store cole  hardware I bought the part FaceTime him again and he walked me through it unbelievable ! To see someone that spent time to show me WOW that you

Major clog in my main sewer line and quite a bit of work needed to be done to figure out how deep the clog went into pipe. Cesar suggested some various solutions to figure it out and quickly acted on them. The final solution involved cutting a pipe to create a clean out in order to put a hose through to use water pressure. The clog was well into the street and away from my property line (old SF sewer line). This final solution worked and the new clean out will serve well for the future if a major clog happens again. I would use them again.

Another great review for Cesar, this time with his partner David. The problem: how to stop the bathtub from dripping ....WITHOUT busting up any tiles?  One plumber and one contractor said can't be done. Have to replace the tiles, which will cost extra money (upsale?)

(In case you don't what an upsale is, here are two examples: you take your car in for an oil change and the guy says you need new tires, your cars not safe to drive on the street. Or you go to a dentist because you got a cavity, and the dentist says you need all sorts of work or your teeth will fall out. Experts can do this to us.)

So what about plumbers, they're experts too? Yep, they can upsale us, too.  So you need to go to someone you can trust, who gets good reviews on Yelp from people like us.

R&L Plumbing are the good guys! They don't mess with you. They sent Cesar out to take a look at my dripping bathtub faucet, and he said I think I can fix it without removing any tiles. Not certain, but let's give it a shot. Get your landlord to shut off the water for an hour or two (post the warning 24 hours in advance) and I will come back and see what I can do.  Guess what?

He came back, opened the handles, found he needed some parts (the bathtub was so old, he had to go to a special supplier who has such parts), and then he took off quickly in his truck and came back with the parts in less than an hour, and he fixed the dripping faucet within next 30 minutes. WITHOUT breaking any tiles in the bathroom!

That, my friends, is a five-star job, by a five-star plumber, working for five-star outfit! Highly recommended!

Our bathtub wouldn't drain, and I reached out to Larry, at R&L Plumbing via yelp, on a Saturday! I honestly didn't think I'd hear back to Monday.

But, low and behold, I got a call from Larry, the owner within ten minutes. He was able to arrange his technician come over same day, and quote a very low price!! I jumped on his offer!

He's technician showed up, exactly on time, and fixed the problem immediately! I was so grateful, I gave him a tip for coming on a Saturday! I will definitely use R&L Plumbing again, and am grateful to add them to my phone contacts for future use.

Saul, Phil, and the rest of the R&L Team helped solve the mystery of our office building's pipes, diagnose issues, recommend additional companies to help with the water damage issues, and was with us every step of the way. They were extremely professional in keeping us updated on what was going on with our building and pipes, and very responsive over phone and email. Also, Saul was great about checking in to ensure that all issues were resolved with our building.

I really cannot recommend them enough and will definitely seek their help for all plumbing issues going forward!

Our garbage disposal suddenly stopped after some broken glass had gotten into the kitchen drain.  Lorenzo reached out to me within 5 minutes of my Yelp inquiry and walked us through resetting our garbage disposal step by step @ 10:30PM on a Thursday night!

We could not be more pleased with (1) his response; (2) his advice and guidance; (3) saving our time; and (4) the results!

I'm a little late to responding R and L plumbing came to my property about a week ago I gotta say they were very professional They unclog my K sink which took about an hour but there's an 1.5 hr minimum so the other half hour I had them look at my bathroom sink and my toilet and shower they also show me how yo shut off my gas main and water main , they did not upsell me at all thank again RL

This is my second time using R&L and again they hit it out of the park. It was Sunday and we had a clogged main line. That combined with the incoming rain would only make things worse. The dispatcher (wish I got his name), was very polite, quick to respond,  and gave me all the info I needed to make to make a proper decision. He let me know Mike would be there in about an hour and he was right on time. Mike was professional, walked me through what he was doing, left everything cleaner than when he arrived, and was a pleasure to be around. Needless to say if anything comes up in the future I'll be calling R&L again. And if Mike rolls through all the better.

My water heater pilot light kept going out. I called Larry and he answered the phone himself, and gave me a quote within 5 minutes after sending him a few photos. He knew what was wrong with my water heater as soon as I told him what was happening. Once I decided to to replace a part instead of buying a whole new water heater, he sent Cesar out. Cesar had it fixed in no time. Now I have my hot showers back. This happened on a Saturday too! I definitely will call R and L with all my plumbing needs.

Called for a quote, never responded with a quote.  Wanted pictures etc. for what I was asking for.  Why?  They never got back to me or showed interest probably because the job wasn't big enough for them.  How times have changed, when things are well people forget about the times every job was important.  If your time is not valuable and the job is big then this is the plumber for you!

Such helpful and honest people! I contacted them to receive some help and ask for a quote, and they let me know that a specific tool found at my nearest hardware store would help just fine instead of spending a couple hundred bucks hiring their team. They even texted photos of exactly what I needed and when I texted back later thanking them and asking if I could give a tip for their help, they politely declined and said they just love helping people. 10/10 recommend R&L!

After the other plumber cancelled on me 15 minutes before he was supposed to show up (and me taking a half day off work)- I called R&L and he was able to dispatch someone same day. The guy showed up 2 hours later and was able to unclog the kitchen sink in under a hour (flat hourly rate). I appreciated the promptness of the service and the fact the plumber didn't take his sweet time to charge me more than needed. I'll definitely call them again if needed.

Larry, Sabrina, and Team know how to deliver an amazing customer experience! They provided a quote and scheduled an appointment within minutes for our leaky faucet. The technicians  are professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Larry has been incredibly responsive (even during his vacation!) for any and all future needs. These guys deserve ten stars.  I called on a Sunday because my toilet couldn't get any water to fill the tank.  Immediate response to my call and advise to wait until Monday (as long as I had another toilet) because it would be half price.   Their scheduler texted me first thing Monday morning right on the dot of 8am when they opened!  (She texted because she didn't want to wake me.)   Easy scheduling (two hour window).  The repair guy was polite, explained the problem, showed me how and the repair worked and was overall beyond professional.  Could not have been a better experience.   (Also, very reasonable pricing.)

Larry and the guys at R & L Plumbing have taken care of our business multiple times now and we greatly appreciate their services. We own a commercial salon in SF and have a lot of plumbing, so they are always our first call whether it be an emergency or just a plumbing issue that needs to be addressed. I hired this company to repair a Toto dual valve in my condo unit Aug'19 and there were just so many things wrong since then. So I decided to share my experience so you can make your judgement call with other reviews.

1. Two plumbers came, one was a trainee. Obviously, both of them had no experience with this Toto valve. When we made the appointment, we specifically asked if they were able to do it as other plumbers we contacted warned us the work would be better off with someone who had done it before.
2. The main guy took off 3/4 of the way and left the trainee to finish the job, which contributed to two issues here. First is the trainee was unable to follow the instruction to turn the condo's water system back on so we had to call the company again at 11pm for someone to come out and bring the water system back up again. Second is that within just a couple of days after the repair, the shower started to leak.
3. I don't know why but those plumbers had to break the shower temperature control knob and they decided to put in some temporary thing and were supposed to come back for a permanent solution. This never happened, even after quite a few follow-up calls.
4. When we received the bill end of Oct, there were just so many questions. We don't understand why we had to pay for a trainee at 25% discounted rate. We don't understand why we pay the same number of hours for the main guy who took off few hours before the job was deemed completed for that given day. Worst yet, the work wasn't finished (it is still missing the shower temperature control knob) while they care less on the leak they contributed 6 months ago. We called numerous times with intention to discuss on issues and the bill, there has been no replies but only voicemails to ask us to pay off the ridiculous bill.
5. HOA was assessing the possible water damage when reporting the leak end of last year. Luckily, it was fine then but unknown now (or for how long). Also, it made finding a new plumber so much harder just because of the messy work they did. I am finally able to find a plumber through a reliable source and hopefully this leak can be fixed once and for all by end of the month once I got the part in.
5. As the yelp reviews don't quite match to my experience, I went to BBB to check them up and this company wasn't there.
6. I decided to check out the reviews post Aug'19 and oh my, I wasn't alone. Even though each case is different, there are similarities to the frustration and the way how the billing and service is conducted.

I hope my painful experience helps you in asking the right questions when you find if they can do the work they are signing up for.

we had a residential emergency on a saturday (bathtub faucet wouldn't stop running). larry answered right away, which was great because we had to turn the water off for our whole 8-unit building. sabrina called back from the office to make sure i knew there was a 1.5-hour minimum charge, so there was no surprise. i was anxious because we were trying to maintain social distancing, so it was a relief when marco showed up in a full PPE bunny suit, with booties and goggles even. our bathtub faucet was fixed in just over an hour, including when marco had to go out and find a replacement part. oh, and larry kept texting me updates during the whole process, so the information flow was good. thanks R and L !!

I just had the best experience with R & L plumbing. I am an Office manager and we had a Urinal that had flooded a bathroom and two other rooms. When I called armed with only a screwdriver and in a panic, he talked me through getting to the shut of the valve on a urinal which isn't like shutting off water to a toilet. In 2 minutes he was able to guide me through shutting the water off and saved me thousands of dollars in damages. Thanks R & L!

We were having trouble with our garbage disposal and Lorenzo walked us through the steps to fix it over the phone. He was very clear and helpful and we were able to fix the problem! We ended up saving a lot of money by not needing someone to come in person. You can tell that Lorenzo is someone who is very passionate about his work and really cares about helping people! The work itself was fine, but their business practices are unacceptable and this firm should be avoided. After several requests, they finally provided an invoice in which they attempted to bill 3 hours for 1.75 hours of work, at a rate about 20% above what was agreed. I regret now that I did not believe the one star reviews from others with a similar experience.

Asked for a quote via the Yelp app and Lorenzo responded almost immediately, very clear and direct and helped me troubleshoot the problem with my toilet. They sent a plumber out and he was able to resolve the issue in the time quoted/estimated and I got a bill. However, since then the admin office has been very unresponsive when I tried to follow-up. There was a part they installed that was faulty (had a hairline crack that the first plumber didn't notice) which was making the toilet run water. I called them and asked them to come fix it since the first time they hadn't done the job correctly. Plumber came back out, fixed the part, now my toilet flush is much weaker than before. I give it a few weeks to see if it gets better, it doesn't, and then they charged me again for the work they did to fix the mistake they made the first time. I called and texted and emailed and have not gotten any response in 2 weeks. Seems like a hit or miss to me. I got double charged and my toilet is still not 100% fixed.

This Company was sent to my Rental Home by Azari PMC- They showed up on time 3:30 and poked around. Mind you the flow pipes had to be Re-routed for the upper BR as they were routed in the wrong direction UP and into the house causing fecal flooding- Azari waited a month to send a plumber and I had to hire my own.
So he comes and literally says, Something is wrong- No S**T Sherlock ergo you are here. The plumber does nothing and says the original plumber needs to come back and do the repair as they know the pipes and the work performed.
This fella mumbles and leaves telling me he will contact Azari PMC- Later that night 6:45pm the bell rings as I am expecting another handyman to repair another broken item going back now to June 2017- Azari notified via email and a walk through with their VP John and their handyman not Reza. I open the door and see it's the plumber from earlier in the day and he said Azari sent me back ( with out notice to me) to fix the toilet. From 6:50-9pm he was snaking the toilet and flooded the garage with fecal matter all over my personal belongings, took NO measures to move, cover or even clean it up. The BR is still not able to be used, fecal matter was splashed all over the room and I mean the walls, sink, door and he used a bucket to poor down the tub NOT outside. Sooooo, He leaves, bathroom out of use now for 3 weeks, personal belongings Oak turn of the Century table, chairs, AKC pup supplies soaked in . I am angry. Azari has yet to send another Company out to repair the toilet, my belongings are trashed- Oh and he used 2 of my Bath Sheets white in color to clean the floor with Simple Green , sorry my plumber that's not a Antibacterial cleaner-

Azari PMC wants to SHOW the house to potential future Renters in this shape-

I was born in San Francisco, Worked here and simply made a return for a year for personal reasons and from Day 1 have had small to major issues with Azari and the entire Company that is completely dysfunctional in every aspect-

If you don't mind living within 5 feet of smelling for over a month- This is the House for you and the Company you want to do business with-

I am a patient person however it's running its course as over a month without a Bathroom is off the charts IMHO-

I still have not received any email, text, call ect as to when a plumber will fix the toilet-

The business was very accommodating and helpful in scheduling. The pricing was also straightforward. The plumber came on time and was very professional. I would use them again.

These guys are ridiculously overpriced and don't stick to the quotes they make.  They do decent work (although I did have to call them out to fix a leak on a tankless water heater they had installed the day before) ... but they charge way too much.  If price is of no concern, they are responsive and generally know what they are doing and do decent work ... below is my email based on the last job they did for me ...


This bill is absurd.  

I called you in advance to get a rough quote on the replacement of a tankless water heater.  You suggested it would be a couple hours work at $145/hr plus the cost of the water heater and a 15% upcharge. I called A-1 plumbing in advance on pricing for the Takagi T-K4 which is what we agreed you would install and they quoted me $900.   I was expecting a bill in the neighborhood of $1,500.

Instead, you installed the T-H3 which A1 quoted me today at $1,185 ... so I am not really sure where the $1990 + $299 markup is coming from ... that is just ridiculous.   This should have been less than $1500 for all materials even with your own markup and tax.

I received no call from you suggesting that the T-K4 was not available, nor requesting authorization for the T-H3 model.  There was no advance notice of the extreme difference in cost and I did not permit the additional cost.  $2,300 for a tankless water heater is just insane.  Not only that, you charged me for 9.5 hours!  I have had many tankless water heaters installed and they have never taken two people 9.5 man hours to install ...

And when I get home, I find that the installation wasn't done correctly and the device is leaking all over the place.

The most important thing in business is to be honest.  I went with these guys because they are generally fast and responsive and I like Larry, but when you quote something for roughly $1200-$1500 to install, you should be close in your bill, not more than double ... which is what I got.  Total install cost for tankless heater ... $3,276 ... just crazy.  

And this wasn't the first time ... they charged me $1,800 to replace a normal water heater ... just crazy.

Fantastic service. Clear, communicative and straight up. Felt like I was treated honestly and fairly. Had water heater replaced and it was super easy and pleasant process. Pricing was transparent and fair. Also all around nice people. Wish all providers were like this!

R&L was able to respond to us on a Sunday night with both a quote and a helpful solution that we could try ourselves. We tried the fix but it did not work and requested a quote from R&L. The quote was fair and as soon as we verbally accepted they had a plumber to us in less than an hour.  I spoke with a few different people but they were all courteous and always tried to find a do it yourself solution without going for a money grab. Would definitely recommend.

R&L Plumbing did a fantastic job on a number of jobs in my apartment.  Cesar and Mark were in my apartment for hours and were able to restore cold water in my sink, something we have not had in 4 years!  They also replaced our old toilet and bathroom sink faucet.  Our apartment feels much more comfortable after the great work both of these guys did.  Both were incredibly friendly and accommodating as well.  I would high recommend R&L Plumbing for any job you have.  Thanks again to Cesar and Mark for their great work!

Larry is the Man, he is very responsive, friendly and kind, he really listens to you and their work is very pofessional we have never had a problem with this vendor, I higglty recomend it take my word for it.

Larry, (who runs R and L) and I made an arrangement for a plumber to show up at 9am on January 28 2019 at Rausch St. in San Francisco.  When nobody had shown up by about 9.30 am, I called R&L Plumbing and spoke to the dispatcher.  She said the plumber would be 40 minutes late because he had a flat tire.  A flat tire takes about 20 minutes to fix but I said nothing and decided to wait.
The plumber showed up at 10 am and when I asked about his flat tire, he said he hadn't had a flat tire.  He said he was only 30 minutes late.  He showed me his schedule on his phone; for him, the appointment was at 9.30am.
We go look at the plumbing problem.  He doesn't know where the shut off valve is. He spends a only a few minutes looking and gives up, shrugs and leaves at about 10.10am.
Two months later I get a bill from R&L for $179.
I don't think R&L deserves to be paid for making stuff up, arriving one hour late and then doing practically nothing.

Cesar was super helpful, cordial, and responsive in installing our new water heater. He answered all of my questions and made sure I had a good understanding of what to expect with the new heater. Had a great experience with R&L!

R&L Plumbing was great in handling my faucet issue! Ceasar P. was very professional and prompt during his visit. When it turned out I needed a whole new faucet, he was so thoughtful (and speedy!) when choosing a new faucet for my sink. I could not have asked for a better experience! These guys saved my night! My 1.5 year old daughter thought it'd be such a great idea during bath time to lift up the drain cap in the shower and drop the dog's ball toy down it. She then pointed and said ball! Uhm little girl.......did you just drop a ball down the drain?! Well as the water started rising it was confirmed. A damn ball was down my shower drain. I called these guys the next day and they wanted to help out without me incurring a big cost. They suggested I get a small shop vac.  I did....but it didn't work because of course it wasn't powerful enough. So I called back and said forget it I'm paying the cost and my daughter gets no snacks and her college fund will take a hit. Haha.  First they couldn't come until the next morning but then the owner texted me later saying they had someone who could come tonight. OKAAAAAAAY. The tech, Ryan, came with their professional shop vac and got the damn blue rubber ball out in 30 seconds. Thank you! My daughter might be allowed snacks tomorrow now.

If your plumber is from R&L plumbing, just trust them.

Larry was so helpful at R&L. I had an issue happen with my garbage disposal late on a wednesday night and he responded immediately telling him to give him a call. I called and we discussed the options. He walked me through everything and followed up. He reached out to his guy who with the parts immediately and I knew with in 15 minutes of the problem happening that it could be replaced by next day. We then set up an appointment and the technician whose name I forgot, begins with a G I believe, was a great guy. He was parked outside by 3:40 for the 4 PM job so we started early which was great. He wore booties inside the house that he took on/off every time he went to get more parts from his truck. We figured out the problem was not as major and was a lot cheaper. I feel like other guys may have just done the job to receive a higher paycheck. They are good people over at R&L Plumbing and I will totally recommend you guys in the future. I want to thank Ryan Clark of R&L plumbing for the fantastic job he did fixing my sewer.  It was in a studio I had  built in 2012.  Everything was working and then it wasn't.  The bathtub was backed up and the toilet wouldn't flush.  I called R&L plumbing in the morning and Ryan came at 9:30.  I was amazed at his problem-solving skills and perseverance.  He got everything working and I am very grateful.  I highly recommend Ryan and will call him again if I have any plumbing or sewer problems.

Outstanding!  I called on Monday, and by Thursday our issue was resolved.  Great customer service, extremely professional, and reasonably priced!

They fixed my dishwasher drain completely. I tried it myself via You Tube video but that didn't work.

A good friend of mine referred me to R&L plumbing and I'm so happy she did!  My hot water heater was leaking bad so I called up and spoke with the owner Larry, he was extremely nice and told me how to shut the water off to stop the leaking.   He had two of his guys to my house within an hour to check things out, turns out the water heater was extremely old and was no good.  The guys went and got a new water heater and installed that day. Larry and his workers are amazing.  I would most definitely refer R&L to anyone who is looking for honest and hardworking plumber!

Ceasar replaced a noisy intake valve in the toilet tank. Quick job done right. Excellent customer care!

Building manager sent Cesar and Gerson to find a leak and unclog a drain - they were related!  They found the problem quickly - broken pipe in the wall (for the leak) and unclogged the drain.  They were very professional during the work - they kept the mess to a minimum and cleaned up completely.  Even though it was getting late in the day, they made sure everything was working properly before they left.  Good team!

I felt compelled to write this review. We had a toilet leak and had called another plumbing service that charges based on the type of fix versus an hourly rate. The first plumber quoted me a price of over $500 to fix the leak and recommended a replacement of the toilet at $1000. The part to fix the leak was $20 by the way. R&L fixed the leak in 1.5 hrs and charged at an hourly rate so it ended up being half the cost from the previous plumbing service. This company is far more reasonable than any of the other plumbing services that charge by the type of work. Definitely will use this service from now on.

I had Ceaser from R&L Plumbing come and fix my sink which was leaking out of the base and not properly installed. Ceaser was absolutely incredible. The guy is a true professional and master at his craft.

Agree with others. They are way overpriced. Not even close to what the market rate was. And they missed 1/3 of the job in their scope but still charged us for it.

R and L plumbing came to my recuse from one day to the next.  They spent more time fixing my attempted at do it yourself- I took my dishwasher apart and had no idea how to put it back together, THX goodness for the R&L plumber, he saved me from having to buy a new dishwasher.  My job was not complicated and not only did the plumber do an excellent job in a timely matter, he also schooled me on how to avoid future plumbing issues.  
I highly recommend them, they are really good people.

Last Saturday afternoon my Water Heater Tank was leaking so bad ,I was so upset because my mother in-law will come to my house that night and stay over (she is so picky), So I called R&L Plumbing and told them my problem, they sent a nice professional guy named Phillip come over to check it.  It was 14 years old 40 gallon water heater, he checked it around carefully and figured out the problem , then he suggested me to change a new 40 gallons Water Heater for the safety and let me take it easy cuz he said their company has itself cooperative plumbing supply directly , so their price was so fair and no need to wait for order it, so quickly he back to his supply store get a new 40 gallon water heater for me and installed it , I even did not wait and expected so quick it got installed !!  by the way, Mr. Phillip even did me a favor fixed that flapper for my toilet.   I was so thankful to R&L plumbing to solve my problem with a nice service and fair great charges.

We had multiple vent and drain line issues at our property during the summer.  Saul was the estimator and he made sure that he was my point of contact.  The R&L team did a GREAT job replacing a broken vent line, a corroded drain line, and relocating and securing a 2nd vent line.  They even took the time to clean out a gutter for us while they were replacing the corroded drain line.  Multiple repairs that required scaffolding were all coordinated by Saul.  Having a single point-of-contact made a potentially difficult process go extremely smoothly.  Saul even reduced his bid when upon closer inspection, he found some anticipated work would not be needed.  R&L has integrity, professionalism and honesty!

We had a reoccurring issue at one of our commercial locations which other plumbers didn't want to take on.  Saul and Phillip had no hesitation taking on the task and finding a solution to our problem.  They were extremely knowledgeable, responsive and courteous.  I'm so glad I found them and am looking forward to working with them again.

My building manager scheduled R & L Plumbing to clear a clogged kitchen drain. The issue ended up being a lot more complicated than a simple clog since the pipes were previously installed incorrectly. Ceasar did a wonderful job replacing the entire pipe/drain system and everything is working beautifully now. He was highly efficient, courteous and skilled - thank you Ceasar!

Bob came to my apartment this week to fix a broken sink. The problem turned out to be more complicated than initially expected, but it was no match for Bob. He was very efficient and professional, demonstrating a can do attitude and going above and beyond to make sure we were fully satisfied with the repairs. All I can say is, I didn't think that customer service like this exists today.  I had a broken garbage disposal and called to schedule service with this plumbing company.  A kind gentleman picked up, and offered that I might save over $100 if I can follow his instructions over the phone instead. So I gave it a shot. He took 10 minutes to walk me through how to do this, step-by-step, and with such generous patience and attentiveness for my safety, and it worked just like he promised!!! Easy, but definitely needed the guidance since this involved some things I had never considered. I saved time and money, and even learned a useful life skill!Now I know how to do this for myself, and when I have a bigger problem, I know exactly where I'm going to go for sure. Really appreciate the help I got today!!

R & L Plumbing is one of those businesses that makes me happy that Yelp exists and makes it so easy for me to broadcast how absolutely DELIGHTED I am with a local business and their service! I was dreading having to find a plumber to remove my bathroom sink and replace it with a new one which had just been delivered to my apartment. I think everyone gets anxious and apprehensive about hiring professional service providers to come into their home to do things like plumbing. I clicked around Yelp for a while trying to decide which company to try. I was impressed by the reviews I read and the info on their website. I called and the woman who answered the phone was able to answer all my questions immediately and was VERY pleasant to talk with, something that is wonderfully refreshing these days. Christine ( I believe is her name ) gave me an estimate that included the hourly rate and the maximum number of hours my job would take. The rates were very good, especially for San Francisco, and I felt comfortable knowing the upper limit of what it would cost. Then came the part of the call when Christine went from excellent to miraculous! Scheduling! I thought I was going to have to wait days, maybe weeks, before they would send a plumber to my apartment because the job was only going to take 3 hours, maximum, and I expected they squeezed little projects like mine in-between larger, higher priority projects but that was happily not the case. In fact, she asked if I was home and would like her plumber to come do the job RIGHT NOW! Uh, heck yeah!

Shortly after we hung up, my new favorite plumber, Danilo was at my door! He did an outstanding job and managed to keep my bathroom clean and orderly through the entire process. Danilo answered a lot of questions I had about plumbing issues in my apartment which is in a very old building with ancient pipes. He could not have been nicer! I enjoyed having him around and so did my dog!  The sink installation was done to perfection and Danilo was even able to carefully chisel the old pedestal from the tile floor where unbeknownst to me until he showed me, the base had been cemented to the tile floor. In an old building like this, there are little surprises that pop up as you do upgrades and repairs. Some of the plumbing was so old that the ends of some pipes and pieces crumbled in his hand as he removed and replaced them. I REALLY appreciated that when these things happened, Danilo didn't get upset or tense and didn't make me stress over these things either. He just took these little bumps as no cause for worry and that is the mark of a true professional!

Due to a minor manufacturing defect in the new drain, I had some unusual gurgling sounds when tried using the stopper to fill the sink the next day. I called R&L and spoke with YET ANOTHER super friendly and helpful person named Corrie. She told me not to worry and quickly arranged for Danilo to return at 1:00, just an hour from when I spoke with her. He returned and identified the manufacturing flaw, explained what I needed to tell the manufacturer, and assured me that it was fine to use the sink until the new O Ring arrives and showed me how to replace the faulty one. R & L won me over the from the first call and made me a devoted, lifetime customer on the second day because they handled my minor issue immediately and without hesitation or a asking a million questions. They treated me with the same friendly, helpful demeanor that they did the day before, not like a low priority service call.

I called at least a dozen plumbers before I could even get anyone to answer. As soon as I got R&L on the line, they were right there ready to help! I got same day service and the problem was fixed in a few hours. I will definitely be returning.

I manage a residential building here in the city. Had an emergency plumbing issue late afternoon on a Sunday so I called R & L plumbing. I got Ceasar and I couldn't have been happier with this otherwise miserable experience. Ceasar arrived in a timely manner and immediately got to work. When he removed the toilet he realized the wax seal was damaged and the line was plugged. He decided, to fix the problem correctly he would need to get his large snake and auger down  several feet. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue but it required Ceasar to walk around the block and drag his large snake machine around the block and carry it up two flights of stairs. He repaired the multiple issues while staying professional, cautious and optimistic never complaining once. He represented R & L in a very positive way. I recommend them for your plumbing needs. Hope you get Ceasar, he gets 5 stars in my book. R & L got it going on if all employees are like Ceasar.

I am an owner/operator of a downtown SF subterranean place of entertainment.  On two separate instances this year R & L came to my rescue when our sump pumps went down very late at night on high occupancy nights.  If you know anything about sump pumps and being a subterranean venue, when your pumps go out, you are in a race for time to get them up and running otherwise you'll be swimming in some serious waste water. We would of been in deep trouble had they not rallied to fix the problem (and at 1am!!).  Larry and his crew pulled it together, did extensive work, put in a temporary pump to get us through the night, and came back the next morning to install a permanent fix.  Once again, they saved us dearly.  I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs.

I had a sewer line backup that had been a problem for years. They came out over the weekend and correctly diagnosed the problem and solution, and worked solid for several days and evenings to provide me a new one. The cost of the job was such that under different circumstances I would have obtained several bids, but given the need to get things back in order quickly I went with their bid. The work was completed as quickly, and was of very high quality. In my research after the fact I have concluded I was given a very good price.

I am totally impressed by the professionalism of the plumber. And the charge was more than fair. What a find. Thank you Yelp.

These guys are great. It's hard to find good, quality plumbing work done right in the city. They have a very home-owner friendly model, and are competitive on their bids. My leaking water pipe got fixed the same day.
