I needed my dining room hanging light fixture removed and decided to message Eugene. He responded within a couple hours and he got the job done the next day. Eugene wore a mask (as did I) the whole time and he even left to get a better cover from a local hardware store to cover the ceiling hole. I appreciate that he cares about the final look.
He also noticed things I wanted improved like maybe create a plexiglass cover for my windows (which have no screens) that would have holes for a portable air conditioning unit.

The bathroom exhaust fan in our rental apartment stopped working properly. I knew this was a straightforward fix (my dad is very handy and explained it to me) but every handyman I called made it sound more complicated than it should have been which was super frustrating. Then, I was lucky to call Eugene. He was honest, transparent, straightforward, came 2 days later and fixed it immediately. While at the apartment, he also helped fix a door hinge and didn't charge me for it. Thank you, Eugene, I am glad to find a honest and reliable person that I can call again in the future.

My office manager hired Eugene for a few projects at our office. (Nest camera installation). He even helped us set it up on the app. So when I needed help with projects at my home he was the logical choice. He fixed my malfunctioning door knob, kitchen faucet, fixed a door that wasn't closing properly, power washed and sealed my steps, applied nonslip treads on steps, and did some exterior painting, and more. All of it was professionally Executed with minimal supervision. Highly capable and professional. I will most definitely hire him again. Thanks Eugene!
I hired Eugene again because we moved into a new place in SF. He changed out old light fixtures, painted, hung new light fixtures, hung mirrors, built drywall, etc. He is reliable and does great work. I am very appreciative to know Eugene.

I contacted Eugene through Yelp quote listing all the small projects needing work around my house, and he answered within a couple hours with his hourly quote, setting up a time for 1 week later. He arrived on time and wore a mask. He replaced multiple bathroom light fixtures and hung mirrors. I appreciated him asking questions about how high I wanted them, if the bulbs should point up/down. I paid by personal check with no upcharge. Will think of Eugene again for future household projects!

I hired Eugene to fix an original sub-par installation of our dishwasher (by another party), which was leaking due the door not being able to properly close. I had a lot of trouble getting a handyman who could come out promptly (handyman shortage!), but Eugene was able to come out the same day to take a look. Even though he was just taking a look he came prepared with all the right supplies so he could fix it on the spot. I had already had a diagnostic completed by another company, who had diagnosed the issue and offered a solution which I needed Eugene to complete. He offered to fix it for their original solution, and also came up with an easier/faster solution which ended up saving us 50% of the repair cost. Will definitely call him again if I have other issues in the future.

Eugene was extremely responsive, took a look at my photos, and gave me a breakdown of the price estimate of parts and labor. The morning of his arrival, he sent me a message with his updated ETA that he was running 30 min late. At the end, he arrived less than 10 min after our original appointment time -- most other repairman do not giving me an update like that! His price estimate was accurate. After Eugene removed the housing unit of my bathroom exhaust fan, he left with the original part, bought the replacement motor, and returned within 30 min. I was impressed by Eugene's speed, communication, and professionalism (wore a mask, brought his own step ladder, showed the finished work, etc.).
Highly recommend!! This was our second time hiring Eugene and this experience was as excellent as the first. Arrived exactly on time and was professional, efficient, and did great work. Among other things, he installed a set of curtains (including curtain rods) for a large set of bay windows in our living room. They look perfect!

Eugene is very precise. He showed up on time and was very careful in hanging art on our walls. He noticed that I was missing a cover for one of my electrical outlets and made sure to get one while he was at the hardware store buying some supplies. He fixed the venting on our dryer, did some drywall patching for us in our garage, reconfigured and hung a new chandelier above our kitchen table. It was very helpful.
Eugene is the best handyman in all of SF! I rarely leave service reviews outside the scope of food on yelp, but after the incredible service that Eugene provided, I feel much obliged to leave this humble review. Eugene is not only a honest, hard-working, and kind person, he is naturally talented at being handy - I must hand it to him.
I ventured to install a Japanese Toto automatic robotic toilet on a pre-existing custom Italian toilet- a difficult feat. Not only did Eugene go out of his way late at night to venture to Home Depot to custom build a connective tube (to save me the hassle of paying through the roof for a custom piece from Toto), he also paid a ridiculously high cost of parking on a Giants game day and did not complain at all. He toiled for two days to install the toilet and did it with skill, grace and raw human kindness that is difficult to find these days.
Eugene is incredible for his passion and dedication to fixing not only household problems but many other stresses that attach to them. Thank you Eugene - EU are a magical household GENE-IE!!

Eugene was super responsive to my request around patching up holes that mice have been coming through, as well as custom making a floorboard for under a cabinet for more rodent prevention.
Pricing is good and his work is quick and quality! Hire him for your handyman needs for sure!

Eugene is the first handyman I ever worked with from Yelp. I had my door broken down and Eugene came out on a Sunday evening to see that it was fixed! He's not only professional, but he's incredibly personable and easy to converse with while he's working in your apartment/home.
He did an exceptional job, and our door actually now shuts better than it did before!

Eugene is punctual, professional and does excellent work. If he doesn't think something can be done appropriately he'll let you know. I only have good things to say. Which is something that doesn't happen too often!
I used Eugene because of Yelp reviews , I need to install a shower glass door in my bathroom. He told me what to order in Home Depot, I did order the glass door , He picked it up and installed it in my apartment. His work is so clean. He is very professional, He immediately installed it and got the work done in less than 2 hours and It was perfect ! I very satisfied client . I'm giving him 5 stars. I have pictures below . Used Eugene several times over quite a few years for both our rental condos in SF and he has been consistently helpful with various repairs that were needed; these included minor bathroom plumbing (toilet and faucet repair), tile regrouting, in sink erator replacement, sliding door lock lubrication and repair, window blind install and even restringing blind cord loops. I have hired Eugene to take care of several things in my condo. He is amazing. I asked for help yesterday and he is able to come to my unit today to complete the work.
He replaced the bathroom light vanity, changed my smoke detector in the ceiling, fixed my tv base, installed my microwave filter correct, patched a small hole in the wall. His work is high quality, he is very efficient and very reasonable priced. I found him on yelp due to his high reviews. I wanted to share my experience with others so people can benefit from his great work.

Efficient, did the job quickly without lots of fuss. I had an issue with an old fashioned glass doorknob that had to be fixed (it kept falling off) and he knew how to do it. It's been an issue for awhile and most other didn't really know how to get it fixed, but he did.

Eugene and Alex were great. I had them replace a bedroom door. Home Depot cut the door in the wrong dimensions and Alex was there to deal with it and then pick up the correct door 4 weeks later. The door arrived and they were able to switch it out and paint. Door looks great! They were also able to do other small caulking repairs around the house.
Great communication, easy to work with and I would use him again for anything else that I needed to get done.

I hired Eugene to update my kitchen. It was a disaster when I moved in and all the cabinets needed to be removed and replaced. It seemed like a longterm job. Eugene came in within two days and had the whole job done two days later. He did a job that could take most a month in two days and he made my kitchen look beautiful for a very reasonable price. Being so impressed by his work, I contacted Eugene to fix my bathtub faucet which he did very quickly. I don't think there is any project I wouldn't trust Eugene to do.

I have hired Eugene twice. Once to hang a door and the other was to Install a closet package and tear down a trellis. Eugene completed all tasks on time, he is really friendly and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him for any handyman services you may need.
Eugene was exceptional. I asked him to do a simple drywall repair project in our bathroom. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem accurately, fixed it perfectly, and left the space clean and neat. I will absolutely have Eugene on my speed dial for future projects around the house. Eugene really helped me in a pinch. When I was trying to assemble this piece of furniture and mount it to my wall I reached out for a quote. Instead of charging me which some local handyman were quoting me 200 dollars plus. He just talked me through it and suggested some different screws I should purchase for the project which ended up solving my problem. Glad to know there are folks like him in the city, will be going to him for all of my future larger renovation projects.
Highly reliable, efficient, honest. I expected a day of work or more but everything on my list and more was completed in 5 hours. And he was exactly on time which was refreshing. As others mentioned he's actually a pleasure to work with.
I hired Eugene to fix a damaged door. He did a phenomenal job top to bottom. He was professional, clean and reasonably priced. I will definitely be hiring him in the future.
Eugene earned every one of his stars, and then some! I endorse every positive statement in his other reviews, and I'm a cranky old lady, a category often difficult to please. :-)

Eugene is very worthy of a 5 star rating. He showed up exactly on time. Had every piece of equipment necessary to mount my TV ( which was 60 inches and being mounted on to cement, not easy) and my pictures in my place. Very sincere, genuine and hard working. Will always hire him.
Eugene is great! Replies promptly (faster than anyone else that offered quotes), schedules quickly, and completes the job perfectly. And he's a very nice guy too. My front door was sticking to the door jam making it difficult to open and close. Eugene quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed my door like new. Happy to have found my new go-to-guy for work around the house.
Eugene was great! He is incredibly responsive and came the same day I contacted him. He helped assemble a complex day bed, desk and table. He also tightened the hinges on my door. He is very professional and quick!

However for wood projects he has poor workmanship and no communication
He hacked the side of my garbage room door with a hatchet? such that there is a big gouge in order to make it close.
He spent his time and my money getting an accordian door to fit when it didn't really work, but he thought I might not notice.
Seriously? All these things might have been avoided with a little communication

He patched my roof up same day for what I think was a good price. Hasn't leaked after first two rains since then. Nice guy too.
He is a prompt, nice, honest, very capable person who can do a variety of tasks efficiently. Everything I want in a handyman.
My wife and I rent out a small condo in the Pacific Heights neighborhood and we needed a variety of repairs done Fall 2019.
My wife found Eugene on Yelp and he replied very quickly. If you have done a similar search, you know how rare it is for someone to reply the same day (especially towards the end of the year)!
Eugene was prompt and very professional. He was able to repair a circuit issue with a light bulb in the living room light fixture and convert it to work with LED bulbs.
He also mounted two TVs for our tenant and collaborated with her to discern the best height.
Moreover, he came back a second time a couple of months later to do something we thought was impossible; fix our old heater from 1969!
My wife found a replacement through an industrial engineering company here in SF. However, that blower motor was too large to fit into the small space of our wall heater.
So what did Eugene do?? He ended up going to another store and dug around to find a small motor that did fit. Then he assembled (from scratch) a mounting piece so it wouldn't move around.
Long story short, we were very pleased with his work. He will get the job done and think 'outside of the box' too! Priceless.
Very fast service and fast response time. Fixed a doorknob and miscellaneous repair work in the home. He was wonderful to work with. I recommend him.
Here is an update to the review I previously left for Eugene. He did not tell me he would leave a jagged hole larger than needed for the lock. He did say at the end of the job that if I wanted it professionally done I should have said so. I previously gave him two stars (1 for poor work and 1 for coming back to fix the poorly done work). I am now changing that to 1 star (only because I can't leave 0 stars). The original cost was $515 and he agreed to $315 because of the poor work done. I then left my original Yelp review. The next morning he sent a text saying he would charge me only $100 for the work done if I would take down my review. Not. A. Chance. I think the reason I may be in this mess with the door and Eugene is because he discounted other reviewers who would have otherwise left truthful reviews. This is a huge problem. Especially as it now looks as if we may have to purchase a new door. The check for $315 has been cut and mailed. Horrible experience. Be warned.
Eugene was fantastic -- took over an electrical project I was having trouble with and got it done. Super nice guy, very accommodating to schedules, etc. Will definitely use him again. Two thumbs up!
Im usually not one to write reviews, but Eugene did such a great job that I felt the need to! I'm so happy that I hired him. I recently moved into my new apartment, and he was able to get everything hung/ mounted very quickly and efficiently (and I am a HUGE perfectionist). He made sure I was happy before nailing anything into the walls, and made sure everything was perfectly leveled. Great work and great price--wouldn't use any other handyman in the area other than Eugene after this experience! Highly recommend.

Christmas is coming and this guy is as creative and tasteful as a handyman is concerned.
He hung up all the decoration and helped me solve the problem of the lights not being long enough. He somehow connected my unused existing cable together.
Very good service. You won't regret hiring him.
Eugene does fantastic work! He helped me hang 3 large shelves on a very tricky plaster covered brick wall in my kitchen. He was thorough and skilled in his work, made sure I was happy with the product as we went, brought all the tools and supplies needed and was correct with his time estimate and pricing. Eugene is a great handyman and I would recommend to anyone!

My bathroom fan was making huge noise, I contacted two handymen before, they did not accept this type of work as my fan was really old and was built inside the ceiling. I contacted Eugene to replace it. He answered my message really fast and provided the details and information why it was making that noise. His quote price was really reasonable. He arrived on time and really easy to talk to. After initial work, he went to Lowes to get a new fans and returned right away. The work was finished really fast and I am really happy with the new fans. I definitely recommend Eugene and will contact him again for my future home project.

Being a slightly lazy homeowner in SF is rough. When you have a handyman emergency, just getting someone here quickly, let alone to do the job well at a reasonable price, is a challenge. Eugene came to my rescue. I have an undermount sink in my kitchen (screwed to the bottom of my wood countertop). I knew the sink was starting to loosen but, you know, I work too many hours, business trip to India, I'll get to it eventually, etc. Today, while on a conference call between 3-4 I start hearing crashing/banging noises, and after a few min I realize the sink is the culprit. I start calling down the list of well-rated Yelp handyman. Eugene was the second to answer his phone (Your Castro Handyman doesn't work in Bernal Heights), and the first to offer to come by. He was here by 5:20pm (when he committed) and fixed the problem for his minimum charge plus parts (less than $10 for parts). Eugene communicated well, was thorough, fixed the problem, put my pull out garbage sorters back in place and charged me a fair price. I will definitely call him again--and perhaps, given what a great experience I had, I will procrastinate a little less on my next home improvement project. Thank you Eugene!
This is the worst service I've ever experienced. I set up an appointment for 10 am today to replace a door handle/latch. I planned my whole day around being home for it. By 10:20 I hadn't heard a word despite calling and texting and messaging. Around 10:30 I heard back saying he was stuck at Home Depot. He didn't show up until 1:15 even though I had repeatedly said I had to leave at 1:30. He came over and wasn't Eugene, but his assistant. It was the first time anyone had told me it was not Eugene I'd be getting. Then he took off my door handle, did some drills and said he'd need to purchase hardware and agreed to be back at 2:30. Around 2 pm I got a message saying he hadn't purchased it yet, was going to another appointment and would try to come by tonight if possible. Today is a Saturday. I have plans tonight. It is mind blowing to me that I had to spend my entire day waiting for a repair that was supposed to happen at 10 am and didn't happen at all. Whatever you do, find someone who doesn't appear to buy his yelp reviews.

Great handyman! I'm new to SF and needed someone to help put up shelves, window treatments, and even a bed. Eugene was great, worked quickly, and charged a fair rate. Highly Recommended!
Eugene may get 5 stars, but Oleksandr gets less than 1, if possible. I took a risk with a new handyman based on all these 5 star reviews because we desperately needed a different water filter for medical reasons. When this number called me back a day later and asked $95 an hour (!) I agreed because everyone was busy. I'm sorry I did. For $95 an hour a handyman should tell you he can't figure something out immediately instead of waiting 45 minutes to do so. He should not leave a house in worse shape than he found it. He should pick up sharp screws and detritus he creates instead of leaving it around for toddlers to find. He should leave you with a functional kitchen sink - when he couldn't figure out my new filter he insisted it was faulty and didn't reinstall my old filter, but left open tubes hanging under the sink. That open tubing flooded my undersink cabinet and half the kitchen. Thank goodness we caught it before more damage was done. When I called Oleksandr to come back and help to make the situation right he sent me a long text message chain of defensive asinine insults instead of offering to help. He charged me $213 to make a mess out of my house. Avoid at any cost.

What a pleasure ! This experience could not have been any better ! He talked with me twice about the job needs and was very clear about his rate. He gave me several choices for time to have the work done and arrived right on time ready to work. We reviewed the three tasks before he started . Eugene would confirm the work with me as it was nearing completion. He stayed busy the entire time that he was here and did not disappear or chat on his phone outside. My little dog liked him immediately and wanted to stay by his side. He called me to come get her before running the power saw to not risk any debris getting into her eyes. Love love love how much better everything looks and works!!! -- I will definitely call him again when I need some help around the house that involves power tools or experience with adhesives

Eugene was fantastic! We hired him to replace our broken security gate, and he did it at the best rate I could find. Consistently fast response time, and was willing to work with us as the landlord asked for different fixes. Highly recommended.
Eugene was excellent. He responded right away and found a simple electrical solution to fix my floor lamp. He was friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job. It was all completed within 2 hours of the time that I called him!!! He also advised me about some other repairs that I will hire him to do in the future.
