I needed a septic tank to sewer conversion. I chose Avalon Services, Inc. because they did their research BEFORE submitting a bid. (Another firm had a lower bid but reserved the right to increase it when the project manager arrived to start work.) Since I had looked into this project several years earlier, I knew Avalon was more realistic. Will Feliciano, the owner, was very professional, kept me informed and was a pleasure to work with. So were his workers and Jose, his foreman. Will was usually there working alongside them. We ended up having to install a pump but Will had advised me before I signed the contract that it might be required. He only charged me for the pump; not the considerable extra labor. We had one miscommunication about a possible pipe replacement under my house. That would have been avoided had I placed it in the contract. We both thought the questionable pipe had been inspected internally during this project. Since the main project had been completed, I was very worried it wouldn't be addressed. In my experience, most contractors would have walked away or charged a fortune to do it. Will and I worked out an amicable solution. The work was completed at a later date at a fraction of the cost I had anticipated. He only charged me his cost with no profit. All in all, Avalon Services, Inc. provided high quality work and professional standards at a reasonable price. It's so nice to find an honest contractor who truly cares about customer satisfaction.
Will also came up with an inexpensive solution to a problem created by a previous contractor who, instead of installing the plumbing for my washing machine underneath the floor, had placed it above the floor and built a platform to hide it.

San Francisco isn't cheap and I was worried I was going to call someone and have them try and screw me over when it came to getting some plumbing work done. These guys did the opposite. They took care of me, arrived to my place on time, and even brought all the parts I needed. Replaced my bathroom faucets and they look great. I wish I would've gotten this done sooner as it helped the look of the bathroom so much. I am glad I could find some nice people to do the job. If you're in SF they should be your go to plumbers.

My dad tried to fix a small leak at a shutoff valve under a bathroom sink.  It didn't work as planned and the water for the entire house had to be shut off.

Stan, who was recommended by another plumber, showed up within hours to save the situation.  I definitely recommend Stan and will be using his services in the future.

I called around to several companies and had a hard time reaching anyone to begin with, and anyone I reached couldn't get to my urgent issue until the next day at the earliest.
Zec and Ros answered right away and got to my house within 20 min. It took less than 20 minutes to fix the problem. He was very friendly and polite. He also wore a mask and put on shoe covers before entering my apartment. Super pleased!!

Called Maintech in the morning and they were able to come that afternoon to check my gas heater.  Ron & Kenton were on time, quickly found the problem and did the needed repair.
The price was reasonable and I'm so glad I've found a plumbing and heating service I can rely on.

My kitchen drain was clogged and needed to be rooted/snaked. I requested a quote on Yelp and Reliable Handyman was one of the few companies to provide an actual quote over e-mail, rather than saying they needed to perform an inspection first. Their quote was also the lowest by a significant amount, so I went with them. Han came out promptly and he very efficiently and professionally rooted the drain, which works great now. I wholeheartedly recommend Reliable Handyman and wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

Rene was excellent to work with. Very reasonably priced, efficient and made the Oakland Mandatory Sewer Lateral work very easy to deal with. I really appreciated the promptness, follow-through and quick service on their end, especially with how backlogged and finicky Oakland inspectors can be with timings. I would highly recommend for any major plumbing work you need to get done.

Vincent was great! Super friendly, fast, and very helpful. He even noticed that my hose was spraying, so he went out to his truck and got a washer for it. Then, when he came inside to look at something, he took off his shoes. I will definitely use them again, and recommend them to everyone I know.

I've used a lot of plumbers over the years in various parts of the country on various remodel jobs.  I've had plumbers fail to show up.  I've also left messages for plumbers all over the years in various parts of the country who were too busy to call back.  So I was thrilled when a friend referred me to C.W. Lee Plumbing.  I can't say enough about CW Lee Plumbing.  I have used Cheuk to do the plumbing work in a kitchen and bath remodel and he was great.  When tree roots invaded my sewer pipe, I called Cheuk and he came over and took care of replacing the pipe and repouring the concrete.  He has helped me out on small things (like leaky pipes) as well.  He does good work and has reasonable rates.  How do I know this?  Because he is the one plumber who will actually return your calls and show up.  My only regret in writing this review is that you people may end up stealing my plumber.

Norm is a good handyman as evidenced by other reviewers. I needed an  handyman to have some things taken care immediately before I could move  into my home.  Norm was very responsive in his communications,  responding quickly whether it be by email, phone, or text.  He showed up  promptly at the scheduled time to perform the work. Even though the work took  a little longer than he had initially estimated, he still charged me the initially agreed upon fair price.  He also took the additional time to do a walk through and provide me with helpful tips on what needed to  be done and what projects to defer.  He is certainly someone that I will  be using in the future.  Thanks Norm!

Excellent service! One of my pipes burst in my home and they were able to accommodate an immediate service request. I live around the corner from this plumber so thought it would be logical to phone this guy when I needed my shower drain unclogged.  The woman who answered told me she was a book keeper and would not take a message for Tom.  She told me That he does not respond to messages (???) and if I want to hire him, I should call back some other time.  I responded by saying wow, it seems like this is really difficult.  Perhaps I should call another plumber?  She said yes!

Efrain has been helping with our old house since 2011. I was a little bummed when I came to know that someone else is going to do the plumbing job at our house. We had a clogged toilet and a clogged sewer line due to roots blocking the pipe joints. The new plumber was Jorge, he was punctual and worked very systematically- everything from the way he tried to find solutions to how he explained how to manage the tree roots. I am very impressed by Jorge and I should say that I would always trust Ideal Rooter and Plumbing. They do not sell things you do not need and I appreciate their honesty. I've already recommended them to my neighbors and I thought Yelp community needs to know how great they are. Thank you, Jorge.

My drain stopper was not working. The water was not draining. Joseph came out and looked at the stopper. It is the original stopper to the house, so it was over 30 years old. He, without consulting me, sprayed WD40 on the stopper. I asked him if he was sure this would work, he said well it looks like it.  The stopper moved and the tub was draining. I asked about the cost to replace the stopper and he said it would cost his time ($189/per hour) to drive to San Francisco and return to Daly City, the cost of the stopper $16 plus $189/per hour for showing up. Because he didn't want to charge me what it would cost to get a new stopper he opted to not put in a new one. I thought well if that's his professional opinion, he's sure this will work then okay. I paid him $189.

The next day the drain was not working due to the stopper. I called him several times and finally got a hold of him three days later. Explained to him what happened. I asked him what was it going to cost me to have him put in a new stopper. He said $189, plus $16 for the stopper. I asked him why didn't he put in a new one when he came the first time, because now it was costing me nearly $400 for a stopper, when it would've been half that if he had done it when he first came out. He said he was trying to save me money. I told him, do you think it's good business to charge me $400 for a stopper? Doesn't that seem extremely high to you? He said no he didn't. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He put Cody on the phone.

I asked Cody the same question. I also told him I'm not a professional plumber, I RELIED on Joseph's professional judgment to make the right decision the first time he came out, and he didn't. Is that my fault? Cody said that was Joseph's professional opinion and paying $400 for the stopper sounded right to him. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said it's a family business. I asked to speak to someone who had more authority than he did. He said he was the boss. I told him if he continues to do business this way he won't be in business much longer.

There was no effort on Cody's part what so ever to remedy this situation. I told him my husband is a contractor and he would never treat his customers this way. Ever.

We've used Mr. Wu several times over the years, usually to snake the drains. He does it for about $150 depending on the issue. Last visit was $130.
He also came by for a minor problem - didn't need to do anything, gave his recommendation and charged only $20 for the visit!
Reasonable cost for no frills residential plumbing. Communication could be an issue over the phone.
This family (business) are hard workers, gotta respect that.
Not always prompt which is why I rated 4 instead of 5.
