Had an exterior leak in the whole house valve.  Called another plumber and they said I needed to replace the pipe back to the street and quoted $3000.

Called Gladiator for another quote.  Victor showed up, dug around a little and said the valve just needed to be repaired.  He did that on the spot And saved me a boatload of money.

Toilet was leaking on floor. They promptly came the next morning and replaced the toilet. I did not like the quality of the new one and even though it took persistence on my part, they replaced it with a higher quality one at no extra cost. I would say they are committed to customer satisfaction!

Eddie at Bonafide saved my day yesterday!  I couldn't get my regular plumber to call me back (Eddie is now my regular plumber!); other plumbers' voicemail boxes were full; my handyman couldn't fix my drain, Drano didn't do it and I was fit to be tied.  I'm fostering four kittens and have three of my own and after three days and in near desperation with Friday night quickly approaching and the weekend on its heels, I found Eddie on Yelp.  His wife ANSWERED the phone!  Just talking with her made me feel better, because I had someone to talk to.  She said she'd talk with her husband and see if he could squeeze me in.  It gets better:  At the same time, one of my foster kittens was so sick I had to rush him into my vet's who made special accommodations for him if I could get down there momentarily.  Then the phone rang and Eddie was on the way!  So, I was changing and getting my kitten ready when Eddie rang my doorbell.  I was in my jogging bra and exercise pants (nobody wants to see a 74-year-old woman like this), so I ran down to get the door with excuses about my state of undress.  To his credit, he averted his eyes and looked down at the floor.  (Note to Eddie's wife:  You got a good man!)  So Eddie set to work and I left my house to this total stranger, and my foster kittens in his trust (don't open the door!) and dashed to the vet's.  When I came back, my drain was fixed and there was a, what I considered, very reasonable bill.  I let out some sort of guttural response when I saw it, because for a man and his wife who saved my day, it was a gift!  Thanks you guys!  You are my new go-to plumbers!  Oh, PS, I sort of remember, most likely incorrectly, that Eddie was in Bermuda shorts and flip-flops and would have been on his way to his weekend, were it not for his kindness in coming to my rescue first.

Planned my day around their arrival window just to get canceled 40 minutes into the arrival window. No solution offered by them, not even an attempt to reschedule. Unbelievaby unprofessional.

Alex from right handyman came to my home for a 3 hour job and de-installed an old hood range and installed a new range. He was quick, efficient, and clean! Would for sure hire again for another job.

Thanks to Erast, I paid $800 for a repair vs. $10k for the new roof another roofer told me I needed. Erast followed up four months later with a free moisture check to make sure the fix held. He'll give me annual free moisture checks until I really need a new roof. Lovely guy, great service.

Update: Still a loyal customer four years later. This time I got a thorough inspection of the whole house, and I feel confident in the assessment they gave me to keep my house free of moisture. I also feel confident that I'm not getting ripped off. I like doing business with Erast and team.

I called Discount Plumbing at 11:30am today and requested to have Angelo come in to take care of  a clogged laundry sink. Angelo came in around 3pm, and used a snake to clean the kitchen pipes outside the back of the building.The job took about one hour, I thought the
quote was reasonable and fair. I did get some cleaning tips from Angelo on how to keep the pipes clean. I will use Discount for future jobs. I would recommend Angelo, He fair and courteous and a pro in plumbing needs. This is second time we have used Angelo.

I had a shower in need of repair. We had a plumber come in and take tile out to replace a valve. I called around for quotes. Mark quoted a reasonable price, but moreover he made himself available as soon as I was. He was super responsive, either by phone or text. He showed up on time, finished the job ahead of time, and left us with a great shower. I'll definitely use him for any carpentry or general construction I need to do.

Sewer Line:  We had sewer back up for 2 yrs.  Roots had invaded the line in the front yard (and later discovered leaks at both the house connection and the line from the garage).  We got three bids for replacement.  Greg at Bell seemed to know the issues well.  We went for a system that would 'burst' the old clay tile pipe in the ground and push it aside by drawing a new heavy PVC line through it (see our pictures).  Ingenious.  So instead of a 100 ft trench and tearing up our patio, the sidewalk beside the house and trees, this required only three holes,  at the street connector,  at the house, and at the garage.   I saw all the work.  They did a good job of installation, hauling debris, and replacing sidewalk in front of our house.  Bravo!

ADDED:  My original grade was 4 stars.  I'm a Fan!  I said.
 But when I see other Yelpers who have No friends and few Yelps cancel my experience with one stars,  I'm a little peeved.  
We've had work done at our house by four different plumbing companies in the last five years, and bids from at least  eight (all rated at Yelp).
(Different problems, different experts:  One plumber does sewer clean outs only, and we didn't call on the guys who install toilets or clear kitchen sinks when it came to a new sewer line.)  
 Is Bell As good as it gets?  Only Consumer's Union might confirm that, but from me Bell gets a High 5.  I've posted over 150 Yelps.  We spent big money with Bell on a big project after a serious search for the best service/price.  We got good work and value.  I don't want that cancelled by someone complaining about a clogged sink.  
Why not just call them back?

I needed a dryer vent installed for my gas dryer (in garage, very long distance to travel to the outside) and part of my gas line replaced--Johnny and his team did a fantastic job at a really fair price!
Johnny was the only plumber I talked to who recommended that I get a booster fan to help with venting and condensation build up since the vent pipe is way longer than standard due to where my laundry hook ups are in the garage. Such a good idea as it turns out!
The installation was well done, good materials used, and everything was neat and tidy when they left. Johnny was incredibly responsive via phone and email, and was on time for both the estimate and subsequent work.
I'm incredibly pleased and Citywide Plumbing will be my go-to company for any future plumbing work.

P.S. There was a small issue with the fan (a fluke manufacturing issue, nothing to do with Citywide's work), and Johnny came out to replace it and fix the problem. I really appreciated his conscientiousness and quality of service.

Thanks to Yelp, so happy I found these guys. When I reached out for a free quote, they emailed me a quote with detailed description of the job. Marvin showed up on time and he replaced my old galvanized P-trap by a new ABS one. They also turned on the shower and checked everything was ok. Licensed plumber with very reasonable prices!! Definitely recommend Handy Plumbing Man!

Excellent same-day service. Chris came out within hours of my initial phone call and replaced our old bathroom faucet and drain opener. Great price too!

Gladiator just completed repiping my 5 unit apartment complex in San Jose. Gladiator was not the lowest bid and I don't mind paying a slight premium if the quality of materials are superior and work is done right. I'm extremely picky and let me tell you, James, Yuri, Jose, Jennie and their entire team were fantastic from start to finish...they are the Best!

Gotta give credit when credit is due.  These guys are pretty good and honest to be frank.  Had another plumbing problem with our lone toilet yesterday.  Called, and Dennis came within an hour of the call.  He quickly fixed the problem and charged a modest fee.  Again, service and honesty at its best!

Sam is the best! Responsive, reasonably priced and great customer service. Highly recommend.
