I needed to replace my toilet, Dan came out and gave me an estimate and took measurements. We discussed what type of toilet I wanted.  
Today Jacob came and replaced the toilet with a comfort height toilet. The height is good for me and the smaller tank gives my small bathroom more space. The toilet is designed to have the water circle the bowl when you flush instead of water coming out of the little holes under the rim. I have wanted this kind but never looked into it.

Dan and his crew are total standup guys! He's done a bunch of work for me over the years. When his guy was here to tighten my sink, he also replaced some parts that were a simple fix on my toilet -- Dan told his guy to do this no charge , which most plumbers would have charged hundreds for. It's why I continue to use Dan, he is trustworthy and honest!

If I could give them 10 stars I would! Diego was able to install 3 very complex fixtures from Morocco with totally obscure plumbing. No other plumber could figure out how to install them. They are responsive and friendly and will use them for all of our plumbing needs!

This is my second 5 star review of Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service. They never fail to deliver. Kitchen sink stopped up and garage flooding. Called Dan's Plumbing at 10:22 am. Super fast, super efficient, super friendly Amelia was on it! Amelia scheduled Shane to arrive between 3 pm - 5 pm. Then, going above and beyond, at 11:33 am she offered service 3 hours early between noon and 2 pm. Shane arrived early respectfully leaving a text and offered to wait outside until the assigned time. So we started early - Shane did some troubleshooting, quickly figured out the issue, snaked the entire house, ensured it was working properly -  even waiting until a complete cycle of wash had finished. Cleaned the garage floor carefully and billed for a very reasonable cost. All done within an hour. I'd give Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service 10 stars if I could. Just the best!

Dan is our HERO! This morning we had 2 of water in our pantry because a leak in our hot water heater. We called Dan as soon as he opened. He rearranged his crew's schedule to make room for us and just a few hours later our problem was solved.  If you have a plumbing problem call Dan's Plumbing.

Early this week we woke up to find a leak under our kitchen sink.  There was water covering part of our hardwood kitchen floor.  

We called four different plumbers in our area to get the problem fixed.  Only Don's had room in their schedule that day for us

We scheduled a repair for noon to 2 pm that day.

The man who came out arrived half an hour early.  He went right to work and in less than an hour he replaced a bad hose that ran from our dish washer to our shut off valve and the cold water shut off valve itself.  

The cost of the repair was reasonable, too.

Awh, Dan is a real gem of a guy! I hired Dan's plumbing to flush my tankless water heater. When the chemical solution he typically uses caused a smell in my water so strong that I didn't feel comfortable drinking it, Dan returned to my home 2x to flush it out with vinegar. He was incredibly accommodating and said he looked at this event as an opportunity to learn and would from now on use only vinegar. What professionalism and amazing EQ! I've since hired Dan's Plumbing for other work and the team is excellent. Highly recommend!

Dan's Plumbing continues to be our go to plumbing service going back 7 years plus. Doesn't seem to be any job they can't tackle. Recently had a toilet replaced and leaking problems. They are always responsive. Dan is great and the people he hires are great too. Diego was friendly, professional and quick to address and fix our problem. A customer service business par excellence!

Went through a restoration company, general contractor and another plumber before hiring Dan's Plumbing. They found the leak in under 10 minutes and had me fixed up in no time. Dan's was a pleasure to work with. There was a leak under the kitchen sink at our rental property. When I called Dan's, the receptionist was very friendly and able to get us scheduled right away. They were on time and called ahead of arrival. The work was done quickly but well and the cost was reasonable. We would use Dan's again if needed in the future.

Long time fan of Dan's Plumbing. While vacationing 6500 miles from home, we had to call Dan because the hot water heater at one of our businesses was leaking. A quick call to Dan and his team and the problem was quickly accessed, water heater replaced and up and running for our return 4 days later. We could never have accomplished this amazing feat without the urgency, trust and professionalism of Dan's Plumbing. A big thank you to the whole crew involved!

Had a handyman install and reconnect a hot tap. Well he crimped a line on the faucet and left a leaking valve. I caught the drip the next day. Called Dan's in a panic. He sent Jeff Smith, who was here within the hour. Jeff came prepared and took no time replacing and fixing things. Jeff is friendly, professional and through.
And he was ok with the two house dogs!
I'll ask for Jeff again, he is a great guy.

Dan was a life-saver! We had a broken irrigation pipe on the outside of our house, which was a flooding danger. It was after hours, and we were struggling to find someone to help. Dan facetimed us and helped get the main water line turned off and then called a few other plumbers who could come assist that evening. He did all of this out of the kindness of his heart (we were not a previous customer), and we are so grateful. Cannot more highly recommend.

I highly recommend Dan's Plumbing. Dan is an independent local, ie, he lives in San Rafael and his business is located here. He responds immediately to requests for service, and has a first rate team of plumbers. A few days ago the water diverted on our tub's shower faucet went out. I called on Friday, and Marvin, one of Dan's ace plumbers, was dispatched to come on Monday. Marvin was prompt, made an efficient assessment of the problem, ordered the necessary parts and came back two days later to make the repair. I've used Dan before: his men are consistently professional; his prices are stated up front and fair. I've come to trust his service without question!!

I wanted to have my three older Toto toilets reset with new wax seals and have an angle stop replaced. I had one of the well known home service companies out for a diagnosis and an estimate and got a totally outrageous quote. Paid them their diagnosis fee and sent them away.  

Dan's Plumbing was recommended by another plumbing company who was booked up and I reached out to them. Very responsive and easy to work with! They scheduled me for the next morning. Marvin was professional, efficient, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He explained my options clearly and then quickly and thoroughly completed the job we agreed on for a reasonable price. I will definitely call Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service again.

We have used Dan's for all sorts of plumbing from installing new toilets to unplugging drains, and fixing the kitchen sink. We just had them install a new Insinkerator garbage disposal. We have always found them to be helpful, on time, and fast. They never try to upsell anything and their technicians are always helpful and ultra efficient. We can, and do, recommend them for any plumbing needs.

I can't say enough about Marvin with Dan's Plumbing!
Not only is he a very efficient and focused plumbing technician, but just a great human being: kind, knowledgeable, personable, helpful and caring.
Not only did he fix a terrible clog in the sewer line (which caused a rather horrific incident in the basement) but he was so kind as to spend extra time sharing tips and instructing me on
how to avoid this, and other potential plumbing issues in the future.

Overall great experience with Dan's Plumbing.  My wife and I had a 17 year old water heater that was starting to fail. Dan's Plumbing was recommended to me by another contractor, so I called them to discuss. I spoke directly with Dan. He had me text over a couple of photos and measurements. He was able to find a replacement unit and emailed me a written estimate. City permits were pulled that same day and the job was scheduled for the next morning. I got a call at 9:00 am the next day from Shane (Dan's associate) letting me know he would be to my house in 20 minutes to do the install. Shane was FANTASTIC. A real craftsman and overall nice guy. Very patient with me and clearly explained what he was going to do (including tips about maintaining the heater). He removed the old unit and thoroughly cleaned the water heater closet before installing the new unit. He also made several upgrades to make sure the installation was safe and to code.  Once finished, Shane cleaned the work area and left it good as new. The final price was exactly as quoted. No surprises. Dan and his team were very responsive, honest and professional.

With materials, labor and consumer demand at all time highs especially here in Marin County, a positive home repair experience can be hard to come by. Sadly no shows, jacked up prices and shoddy workmanship have become the norm, with plumbers and electricians topping the list.  Well after kissing a lot of frogs over the years I had the good fortune to call Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service in San Rafael for a kitchen faucet installation, point of use water heater removal and a pair of new stop valves. The as-built conditions under my kitchen sink included water intrusion from leakage and faulty valves with a single shut off on the hot side for the dishwasher and faucet that no longer met code. The young lady who answered the phone and schedules appointments for Dan has a disarming Australian accent and could sell sand in the desert.  Due to a cancellation she scheduled me for later that day with Josh who gave me a courtesy call prior to arriving on time.   Don't mistake Josh's youthful appearance for inexperience-if the state of California had a Master Plumber designation he would have earned it years ago. (Here in CA we have Certified Plumbers) Instead of diving right into the scheduled scope of work he spent a few minutes carefully surveying my plumbing, which includes a radiant heat system with a re-circulating pump. He took the time to understand that the faucet installation was an interim solution to be followed by a major kitchen remodel within the next year or so, and offered some cost effective recommendations that appropriately deferred certain improvements to a later date.  Armed with a thoughtful plan of action Josh proceeded to install the faucet, change out the stop valves and remove an old unused insta-hot.  His work demonstrated knowledge, experience and skill. Total time 90 minutes which included a very enjoyable conversation about Chinese cuisine, BBQ smokers and grills and Japanese whiskies. And as if my experience wasn't already memorable, Dan gave me a senior citizen's discount.  Couldn't be happier.

Have used Dan's Plumbing 5+ times over the last 10 years.  Exterior irrigation drain clearing, snaking of kitchen sinks and dishwasher air flow change out.
Totally reliable, friendly and competitively priced.  Back office and service team all professional and really pleasant to work with. A focus on all facets of the business is what they have built their business on and continue to impress me each time I have a need for our plumbing to be serviced.  

No need to go anywhere else  - Dan's does it all really well.

We have been dealing with a main water leak for weeks. Tried having Ongaro and Sons out as well as Burkell.  Both thought the main leak could not be repaired and would have to replace the entire main water line. Ongaro gave us a $30,000 estimate. Burkell had not weighed in yet. Dan came today and not only did he fix the leak that couldn't be fixed but it cost $685.00.
I could kiss their feet. They are positive, professional and personable.
What more could you want. Oh, and they are just delightful to deal with.

Dan's team did an amazing 2 jobs the past week. First they came out on two days notice and fixed a water main leak that was causing havoc under our house. Shane the plumber explained everything and installed new pipe, regulator, shutoff and valve... all in just a couple of hours. The second part of the job was today as Marvin was scheduled for clean outs of our sewer lines. Instead he flushed the toilets, determined the sewer line wasn't the issue, and measured for new toilets -- ours as 30+ years old. Marvin instead spent time putting in new pipe under our sink where the old kitchen drain pipe cracked off and then cleaning out the kitchen/dishwasher drain line. He did a great job diagnosing the issue and engineering a great fix. We will definitely call Dans when we encounter plumbing issues again. Lastly, Amelia the scheduler, was in constant communication making sure all the appointments were on time.

We had an AWESOME experience with Dan's plumbing, out of San Rafael. He's the only guy in TWENTY years that completely fixed our derelict 1980's upstairs sink and faucet, at our beach house in Stinson Beach. Everyone else I had out there over the years just told me to replace it. I gave him full license to do whatever he felt was best without having to get approval from me (I wasn't there) and he got it working properly with replacement parts etc, and a whole bunch of other issues regarding it. Helps me until I can get to our remodel. So, for future plumbing issues at our place, Dan and staff are my people!  He has a receptionist, he does email. I don't care about travel time cost. It's worth it to have someone I can contact, have call me back, I can give my full trust to the repair process without me being there. What more could one ask for?

I am doing some work on my own house and I had a few questions about the plumbing.  Dan's plumbing called me back and answered all of my questions without any hesitation.  When I told them that I was doing the work myself they were encouraging and extremely helpful.  It's so rare to see a company solely motivated by helping the customer.

Had an ejector pump problem that meant everything was backing up.  Dan's Plumbing got me scheduled in early the next morning but then called to say they could come a day early at the end of the day.  They came in and quickly solved the problem at a very fair price. We had Dan's Plumbing install a new water heater.  Their bid was a bit more expensive than the competition but I read good things about them and wanted to support a local outfit like Dan's.  The installation went great - they were courteous, arrived on time and did a decent job cleaning up.  We also had them install an outdoor faucet.  

Dan's team were fully committed to ensuring we were satisfied and even helped us get through the inspections for the permit process.

Our house gets a lot of surface water during heavy rains. I used to rent snakes and clear our drain lines myself but the last few years, I've hired plumbers to do this. After having been overcharged the last couple of years from others, I decided to give Dan's Plumbing a try. Marvin showed up and wasted no time getting started. He worked much more efficiently than the last guy that showed up (this work is charged by the hour). His snake actually broke halfway through the work and Dan's delivered another unit very quickly. No time was wasted and Marvin gave me good suggestions about preventing root intrusion in the future. I will be calling Dan's again next year to do do this work again. I recommend Dan's Plumbing without hesitation.  I have two locations where Dan's plumbing has performed repair with best practices. In both instances, Jacob did the repair.  He couldn't be a nicer young man.

The commercial location had an old wall-hung toilet.  In the process of repair the toilet broke where it bolted to the wall.  Without any hesitation on Dan's part, a new toilet was ordered and installed without cost to me.

The home location has two tankless water heaters.  I have Jacob service them on an annual basis.  During the recent visit for the heater, he also installed a new spray head on my kitchen faucet.

This company provides excellent service.  The entire company is pleasant to work with, they are on time for appointments, and they back up their work with a gracious attitude.  I am more than pleased and happy to have found them.

Had a recent hot water heater problem. Called several local, name plumbing companies and was appalled at their blatant rip-off attempts. Each refused to provide any kind of ballpark, instead insisting on a hefty fee to simply come & diagnose the problem.  Then, after a 1-5 minute overview, providing estimates in the multiple thousands of dollars. Then (yes, there's more), being unprepared to perform the fix due to a lack of materials. Thank God for Dan. He provided a ballpark over the phone, had a Tech arrive at the time he provided, and the Tech fixed the problem immediately for the amount Dan quoted.

The people at Dan's plumbing are the best! I called Dan's in a panic because our toilet in our preschool wasn't flushing properly and it was running all the time. The woman at the front desk was very kind and understanding, and said she would try her best to get someone out to us the same day. She communicated with me throughout the day to provide me updates. Luckily they were able to squeeze in someone to look at our toilet. They were very efficient, professional and knowledgable. This isn't the first time we've used their services and won't be the last- they are outstanding! They are considerate, professional and want to help their customers without ripping them off like some of the other companies in Marin. They were friendly and very knowledgable. Love them!

I want to add my voice to the many who believe Dan's Plumbing is without a doubt the best plumbing company in Marin. I have been a faithful customer for a few years and each time my experience has been extremely positive.  This week, I called for repair for my old tankless water heater, but unfortunately we discovered its days we're over. Imagine my surprise when Dan called to say he would send out his specialist, Jeff, that very day to determine the optimal solution to rerouting a new heater outside. After several options, Jeff was able to identify the optimal solution and I couldn't be more pleased.
The following day Jeff and Jacob arrived early in the morning and both worked tirelessly throughout the day to reroute and connect pipes and gas line to the new unit strategically placed on an exterior wall.  I couldn't be more pleased with how the whole process evolved and how professional and pleasant both Jeff and Jacob were as they worked to overcome numerous obstacles this old house held for them.
I appreciate Dan for altering his company schedule that day so we could have hot water and applaud his wisdom in hiring the best of the best to help his customers in time of need.

JACOB from Dan's Plumbing came out for service on 5/20/20 to remove old leaky toilet, repair toilet flange, install new angle stop & install new Kohler toilet.
Also, installed new shower stems x3 re: leaky shower fixtures (had issues with for couple years).. finally no leaks!!!  
All repairs were done in a timely manner.
Jacob was very professional, polite & courteous at all times!!!!
Dan's Plumbing is BEST PLUMBING SERVICE i've dealt with in years!!
DEFINITELY will be using Dan's Plumbing for all future plumbing issues!!!

These folks are on their game!  I called today about a leak coming up from the floor/wall. The office scheduler put me in touch with the plumber and he arranged to come out tomorrow.  He discussed possible reasons why the leak might be occurring and what steps would be needed for the different situations to fix it. As it turns out, our AC company contacted us back saying it was their responsibility and they would fix it. Soooo, I never had the chance to meet the team but I give them 5 Stars for their honesty, amazing communication and their ability to fit us into their busy schedule on short notice.

When I need a plumber, I will be calling them!  Thanks again!!!

Our faucet stopped working, just a dribble and falling apart. When I called Dan's, who I had used before for other plumbing needs, they called me back and suggested I have a new faucet on hand so they didn't have to make 2 repair calls. We had a the parts expressed to us still under warranty, and when Marvin came he diagnosed the problem and fixed it within an hour. Marvin has routed our sewer and generally can fix any plumbing problem. Dan's is the Plumber for us!

Dan's plumbing has been great since we started using them about three years ago. Their service is spot on and they respond quickly during emergencies. Case in point is that a couple of weeks ago, during this whole coronavirus craziness, our shower suddenly failed to work. They had somebody here within a day and had it fixed within three working days despite the fact that they had to locate a new cartridge for a 30-year-old shower fixture. They used all of their research capabilities, reached out nationally to find the part and installed it in record time. They gave us full credit for the initial visit to the house where they diagnosed the problem but did not have the right part. There was no charge for the time they spent researching. They know what they're doing and they are a good deal.  Special kudos to one of their plumbers Rene. He did everything he could to help us out.

Hero Status.

We had a plumbing emergency over the weekend and after calling around to several places who said they could help us 'several weeks from now,' we were beginning to think the word 'emergency' was inconsequential.

Enter Dan. He was the only person who agreed to come same day - and on the weekend - which speaks volume about his customer service focus. He was prompt, kind, walked through the problem with me, and most importantly, FIXED IT. As 2 others were unable to do before him.

I wish I called Dan first, but he's on speed dial for next time.

First off my apologies to Dan, this review is way past due and hen really deserves my 5 stars.

Dan has been out to my house more then once, always pleasant and knowledgeable.   One time I had an emergency and he was not available so I used a referral who was not in the same league as Dan.   Long story short the other guy (who was supposed to be less $)  charged me plenty, the problem reoccurred,  and then he was incorrect about why it did.

We were super concerned and called Dan.   That night he shows up after working late, check things out and gives us the correct info which was a huge relief.  

Amazing service, nice guy. What more could you ask?

Dan's Plumbing gave us great advice - Over the Phone! And it worked. Our Bathtub water was dribbling out and they suggested 1. to replace the valve and 2. try and air compressor - which worked!
We had Levi Plumbing out to diagnose this and they wanted to replace the galvanized pipes, remove the tile and replace with a 10 plate and replace the hardware. $2600 estimate.  They also said the water heater (only 10yrs old) needed to be replaced.  All this for an estimate of:
$11,500.00!!

I'm beyond satisfied with the level of service I received today. My husband called this morning because we had a leak that was directly over our electrical box. Shane from Dan's plumbing came by on the same day. I was very impressed with his level of professionalism, his timeliness, and his knowledge. He explained everything that was going on to me and fixed the problem. My husband and I are going to be doing a remodel in the near future and will 100% use Dan's Plumbing (and Shane) for anything plumbing related!

Incredible Responsiveness and Service!  Just moved into our new home a couple of months ago. Called at 8am on a Monday....this is a personal small business where Dan actually answered the phone and asked all the right questions when my water heater had water pouring out of it. Within an hour, he had a top technician on hand who wore a mask, followed safe protocols, assessed our problem and gave us options!  He was very patient w all my questions and his best advise was for us to get a new water heater (ours was from 1998!) which while expensive, we took. Thank goodness.  The new water heater is like night and day - it was running out of hot water before and making terrible noises thru the house.  Now - silence and plenty of consistent hot temp. And, he took out and hauled away all of the janky old tank, plumbing, and weird wires....now we have a clear, clean, safe water heater with all the shut off valves - with easy access.   Dan was incredibly empathetic to our expenses, knowing we just incurred moving expenses, and worked with me on a price and payment option that allowed us to get it installed that day, while allowing him to meet the needs of his business -win win!  The installation, advice, and exceptional customer service was bar none.  Highly recommend Dan if you have any water issues in your home. He is my new go-to plumber!

I had my 2nd occasion to call Dan's Plumbing today. A water pipe in my yard had been damaged in the course of another construction project, made worse when the construction guy tried to fix it. I called Dan's at the end of the work day yesterday, and they said it would be a couple days before they could send someone out. I accepted that appointment, but asked to please call me if something opened up sooner. They ended up getting an opening the very next day and were kind enough to call me and offer me the earlier appointment. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I never really expect a call-back from anyone when asking for earlier appointments.

Jakob came out, took a few minutes to check out the problem and came up with a reasonable solution. He gave me an estimate beforehand, but completed the job sooner than expected and the actual cost came in well below the estimate. Jakob was a great guy. Polite, friendly, and focused on his work. He was especially gracious regarding the obnoxious talk radio being broadcast by the construction guy's boombox who was also on site.

There is a reason Dan's Plumbing is rated 5 stars. They are honest, talented, knowledgeable and efficient. They are also nice people.

I called Dan's this morning to request help with a small gas leak that I found the previous weekend while doing some maintenance on our garage.  They called me back to schedule an appointment about an hour later.  The technician (Jakob) was at our house by 11:10a (roughly two hours after I placed my original call).  Wow, that was fast!!  Jakob arrived wearing a mask and gloves proceeded to fix the leak.  It turns out the leak had been present since the original plumber had installed the water heater (roughly 4 years prior).  Jakob was professional and knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions (I'm a DIY-er and wanted to make sure everything else with the water heater was up to code).  Big thumbs up!!  I will definitely be calling Dan's for any future plumbing needs.

I called the service as I honestly felt the plumbing was falling apart with backup in the kitchen and bathtub with nasty gurgling noises.  Marvin arrived, took a look at everything and snaked a blockage.   So simple and yet if he had been dishonest, he could have easily convinced me that I had a serious problem and charged accordingly.  So no 4-hour charge as I had envisaged!  He also explained to me how I could avoid the problem in the future.  Everyone needs this plumbing service in their area.

The handle on our shower broke and we could not figure out how to fix it ourselves. I called Dan's Plumbing based on the reviews here on Yelp, and they did not disappoint. I just had, hands-down, the best plumbing experience I've ever had. I called Dan's Plumbing to help clear a badly clogged kitchen sink (that was backing up into the bathtub), and also to replace an old kitchen faucet. Marvin called in advance to let me know when he would arrive, which he did right on time. He was extremely friendly, super knowledgeable, clean and thorough. He walked me through everything he did and gave me tips for avoiding situations like this in the future. When he handed me the invoice, I was literally expecting it to be twice as much (the total was less than a competitor's estimate for the sink install alone!). I was truly blown away, and will be calling these guys again if I ever need to (which of course, I hope I don't ;-)... Dan's gets a 10 out of 10.

Referred to me by somebody who is in the business.  

Outstanding service.  It starts with his dispatcher Bernadette who was able to squeeze him in despite being overbooked ahead of a holiday weekend.  

Once at our house, he quickly ran a series of process of elimination tests to determine our slow leak was caused by some old improperly capped irrigation.  He quickly fixed the issue and even recommended a replacement toilet flapper on his way out the door that I could pick up at the local hardware store.

Today's appliances are sold on the option of extended warranty or expect its demise +/- two years  later.  The pilot light on our 5 year old water heater failed and our tenants were without hot water.  They reported the failure at 9:38 pm.  I came to the house, relit the pilot and thought all was well.  Unfortunately, I got a call early am saying that there still was no hot water.  I called PGE (as their crew was working nearby the day before) and they responded and determined the thermocouple needed replacement.  Frantically, I called different 7/24 service plumbers and Dan came through.  Not only was he able to come within a two hour window, but he also had the replacement part.  

Today's hotwater heaters do not come with a universal thermocouple replacement that you could just go to some hardware store and purchase.  It's a special order item.  Dan, who has encountered these thermocouple failures had the diligence,  presence of mind and foresight to stock a variety so that when he would get an emergency call, he did not need to give the client the somber news that it will take some 5 business days to to get the part.  Meantime, you or your tenants would be without hot water!

Dan's price for a weekend service call was reasonable and he was efficient and thorough.

I recently called Dan's to have a bathroom facet replaced and Dan answered the phone and scheduled the service himself.  I didn't have to leave a message on an answering machine and wait for a call back.  

His technician Marvin arrived on time and even called to let me know his exact arrival time.  He was very friendly, professional and completed the work in a timely manner.

I highly recommend Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service.  The prices are very reasonable. The service is promptly scheduled and the service is always excellent !

I was one of Dan's first customers when he started his business and I won't go anywhere else!!

I used Dan initially to fix a refrigerator ice maker that the Sears repair people had messed up. Dan spotted the problem, and once the part broken by the Sears repair person had been received, Dan came out and fixed it. He brought an experienced Kenmore tech with him to make certain the repair was done right.

We just had a sewer line clogged, and because of our dissatisfaction with our prior plumber who will not be named, called Dan. When you have a problem like this, to deal with a business who treats you like family and tries to quickly resolve the problem is the best. Dan could not get out immediately, so his wife and dispatcher recommended another plumber, who came out within an hour.  The recommended plumber wias great.

If you want help, competent work, and reasonably price repairs, call Dan.

Dan gave us the best plumbing service we have ever had.  When scheduling our appointment by phone, Dan already had an idea of  why our kitchen faucet repeatedly becomes loose.  When he arrived, he determined that what he had thought was wrong was not the case.  He proceeded to fix the faucet with a myriad group of tools that we would not have had on hand.
He also gave us advice on how to fix another faucet problem in a bathroom that he thought we could fix ourselves.  Dan was honest, efficient, and incredibly helpful.  We give him our highest rating.

These guys were great - I was really worried I had a big awful problem on my hands and Dan fixed it quickly. Explained the fundamental problem (insufficient slope on an old cast iron sewage line under the house) and that it could be replaced someday for $X. BUT told me not to worry about it too much and that it can wait.

What plumber tells you not to worry about it - that it can wait - rather than getting you all worked up and selling you the service right then and there?

Apparently, Dan is that plumber. He's now permanently in the rolodex (aka contacts section of iphone).

If I could give six stars, I would.

From the very beginning of the process (phoning to get an appointment), I have been consistently - and pleasantly! - surprised. Communication was great the whole way through.

Bernadette was super organized and responsive.  On the day of the appointment, both she and Dan called to keep me updated on his ETA.  

Dan showed up, got straight to work, diagnosed the problem AND FIXED it so fast my head was spinning.  He was pleasant and professional and expremely competent.

Not only that, he swapped out a leaky hose bib he saw, gratis.  His rates are fair, and he gets the job done.  He didn't try to get more work out of me.

I can recommend this company without reservation - really terrific.

Call Dan before you waste your time with others. Can't recommend these guys enough! What a life saver.

We had a water pipe break this morning and water was gushing everywhere. After turning off the main water source, we were facing no water for the whole weekend without emergency plumbing service.

I called three plumbers before Dan and was very disappointed. Dan answered my calls twice, let me know exactly when he could come out, was very professional and clear communicating over the phone. Dan quoted the job honestly, fixed the problem and offered advice on preventing the problem in the future. We were very pleased with Dan's service and will use him again.

I made an appointment to have a few plumbing issues fixed. One of them was tricky, so Dan decided to personally take care of it. He went way above and beyond my expectations by also fixing a loose faucet that I had been told could not be done with my current set up. I have used many plumbers over the years because I was never entirely satisfied with the quality of the work done. This one is different, it's a keeper, and it will be my go-to plumber from now on (you know, the kind whose number you actually save on your phone). I just wish I had found him earlier. Save yourself some time and headache looking for the perfect plumber. You just found him!

We had a plumbing emergency on Sunday night. My next door neighbor sent me the contact info for Dan's Plumbing and Sewer. I called Dan's at 7 am on Monday. They returned my call within 30 minutes. Jose and his assistant came out and replaced the broken shower valve before 10 am, did some other small jobs and were done before 2:30! Jose was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. The work was done very well and quickly. I am going to have Jose back to put in a new water heater and make some other upgrades ASAP!

I haven't reviewed Dan and his crew in quite awhile... that's because their last job was so good I haven't had to give them a call in years! I did have a recent issue at my restaurant in San Rafael that sort of snowballed into a bigger job than we had originally thought. They handled all the repairs with ease and precision, and Dan even came back the next day to make sure the job was 110% completed! Completely unrelated to an issue I hired Dan's Plumbing to fix a couple weeks ago: Dan came out today on very short notice to fix a crisis with our main 4 water line that goes to the street. I called at 4:30; my window was until 6:00, and he showed up a little after 5:00. Turns out, the city did some work on our street last week, and all of my neighbors - including me - had main line blockages only days after. That said, Dan was wonderful to work with, and came across as a very trustworthy and straight-forward business man.

Dan's Plumbing Service was fantastic! Our sewer line was backed up two days before Christmas! Their company was fully booked for the day so they gave us a few other numbers to try. Dan personally checked back with us at the end of the day and when he found out it hadn't been fixed he came out at the end of his work day.

He fixed the problem in 30 minutes and did a more thorough job than previous, well-known plumbing companies had in the past. As if that wasn't enough, he charged a fraction of what one of the other companies wanted to charge for an after hours call.

It's nice to know there are companies out there like Dan's Plumbing that you can trust. From now on, we know who we'll call first.

Dan and Jose were very flexible and respectful, and did a wonderful job on installing a shower head for my mom.  Overall work ethic was great.  Quick work and made sure to keep everything clean.  Reasonable price and they also gave a great discount.  Because I asked for the old shower head back, they even dropped it off at my house later on.  Gave great advice on a related issue.  Next time we have a plumbing issue, we will definitely use them!

My office bathroom toilet backed up. I used my power snake to get about 7 feet in, but no relief. I unfortunately needed a plumber ASAP. My main go-to said he couldn't come out and recommended Dan's. I called and spoke to Bernadette, who I now know is Dan's wife. She was very pleasant and efficient. Since they were busy, she said they would try to squeeze me in. She called every so often to touch base and let me know they didn't forget about me. One of their staff showed up, removed the toilet and found roots growing up into the toilet!!!  Dan was summoned with the heavy duty cutter and in no time, the pipe was cleared, the toilet reinstalled and the area cleaned up very nicely. The biggest surprise was the price and the friendly service. I highly recommend Dan's Plumbing.

My husband and I were VERY impressed with Dan's Plumbing. We woke up this morning to a busted water pipe that was creating a small stream outside our house. We called Dan after another plumber was unable to clear our clogged kitchen sink. He came out immediately and jumped in with skill and determination. He ended up underneath the house in a difficult crawlspace after figuring out that the clog was too far away to reach from the sink itself. He wouldn't leave until it was fixed, and for a very reasonable price. I couldn't recommend Dan highly enough!

Today, Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service replaced our water heater, and we could not be happier. I had called several plumbers who could not serve us for at least 2 weeks, which was too long to wait for hot water. One referred me to Dan's, who responded within 24 hours. Juan did the work and was super professional and knowledgeable.  He installed our water heater and replaced all of our pipes and tubing in about 4 hours. He also showed and explained everything he did before he left. The price was reasonable/competitive as well. We will definitely use Dan's again for any future plumbing needs. Highly recommend you give them a call!

After getting other plumbing hourly rates/time estimates and reading reviews, we accidentally came across Dan's Yelp five star rating/reviews.
From setting up the appointment to the end of the job, Dan's is a first rate business.   We had a kitchen faucet and waste disposal replaced in slightly over an hour by two excellent, fast plumbers (Jose and Tyler).  They were so coordinated they must have said less than 20 words between them, each knowing exactly what the other needed and when.
I'd give them six stars if it were possible.

Dan was amazing...we were having 10 people over for my mother's birthday and no more than 30 minutes before people were slated to come out sewer line backed up.  Dan was out our house in no more than 30 minutes and had the sewer line snaked and running back to normal before anyone arrived!  He saved our Saturday and my mom's Bday...thank you Dan!  Bella his chocolate lab is also the sweetest thing ever...Thanks again and highly recommend this guy for a fast, reliable and professional service!

Really nice guy and didn't even charge me for fixing a couple minor things the first time he came over (I've since hired him for more serious problems). He's fixed sinks, faucets, and a water heater for me. He always shows up during the two hour window he says he will, and he calls 5-10 minutes before arriving so you don't spend 2 hours wondering if the doorbell is about to ring. I spent 35 years trying to find a good plumbing/heating service in the area.  Some were OK, some mediocre, one a total ripoff.  Dan's Plumbing has been my service provider for the past year, and I don't expect that to change.  They have done all kinds of plumbing for me, from replacing a water heater to fixing a furnace (I have a couple of rental units in addition to my house).  They have always been helpful, on time, reasonably priced, and explain exactly what the problem is and how it can be fixed.  They have come up with creative solutions to what could have been expensive problems.  I'm very happy with Dan's Plumbing and expect that to continue.  They may have a lower profile than some of the big companies that advertise heavily and have trucks everywhere, but they do better work at a lower price...which is what is important to me.

I didn't actually end up hiring Dan because he was booked for several days, and I had a leaking bathtub faucet that required immediate attention. But when I explained the problem, he said oh that sounds like you need to replace the cartridge in your valve. So I watched a YouTube video on how to remove a Kohler cartridge and took it out. Went to Home Depot to get a new cartridge and after watching the rest of the video, installed the new cartridge. The faucet works just fine now! Thanks so much Dan for your invaluable help!

Nothing makes your weekend awesome like a plumbing catastrophe does.  We had flooding in our bathroom and couldn't figure out why, turned off the water to everything and looked up plumbers on yelp.  After researching a few, we decided to contact Dan, based on his good reviews - and the logo of his dog Bella, honestly.  We're dog people, what can I say.

Dan answered immediately and made it out to our house within two hours, even though he was already busy with multiple other emergency jobs.  Within another hour he had identified the problem (a fill valve that had broken on the inside), repaired it, replaced the same part in the other bathroom before it could cause an issue, and fixed a couple other minor issues just because he was there already.

His rates were incredibly reasonable, he was meticulously careful with our property - keeping his shoes outside even though they were barely dirty,and wiping down every surface he touched until it was cleaner than when he arrived - and he was an overall pleasure to work with.  

We certainly never want to have plumbing issues again - but if we do, there is no doubt that we will contact Dan.

Dan is great.  We had a stopped up toilet over the weekend, which, of course, didn't start until Saturday and I had guests for a week staying with me, so it was awful.  I called about 5 plumbers and Dan responded and came on Saturday.  He wasn't able to fix it then, but came back on Sunday, and other problems kept reoccurring and Dan kept coming right back to fix them.  He ended up coming out about 4 times and only charged me for one visit.  He's the best!  I'm still waiting for calls from 3 of the other plumbers I left messages for.  Don't waste your time, use Dan if you need him.  He's reliable, trustworthy and knows his stuff.

We had what we thought was a problem with our furnace.  It's over 30 years old and we expected it needed to be replaced.  We found Dan on Yelp and with all the good reviews he had we felt comfortable calling him.  

Dan was running late and called to let us know.  A good early sign.  He showed up with his own booties to cover his shoes so as not to muddy our carpet.  Another simple but good sign.   He spent 10 minutes looking over our furnace and it turns out it just needed to be unplugged and plugged back in which seems to reset the circuit.  It works perfect now.  

When I asked Dan how much expecting a$75 visit fee he said no charge.   It blew us away.  Plumbers are notorious for over charging and he could have easily take advantage of us.  I spent some time talking with Dan and he is one good guy.

Like this 5 star review says Dan is Woohoo! As soon as it gets!

My husband and I have been his clients for years even when he was working for other companies. We never really think about the plumbing part of our homes but when we have problems with it, WE GOT PROBLEMS! Dan grabs them from our hands and plunges them down the drain ('xcuse the pun).

More importantly, he is very polite, responsive and it's wonderful that he brings that adorable chocolate lab - Bella around. Love her. What a great team!

Do you know how hard it is to get a plumber to call you back? Much less arrive when they say they will, and is courteous, clean, and knowledgeable? I sound like a commercial, I know, but I am so impressed by Dan.  

People don't realize how stressful it is and disruptive to your life and household when something goes wrong.

He understood that and got to us immediately.  Until he could make his way over here, he answered all our questions by phone and told us what we could do to mitigate damage in the meantime.

Considering our pipe burst behind the wall and we had no idea what how to prevent the water from pouring out, it meant a lot for him to give us instruction.

Not only did he work to fix it immediately, he followed up to make sure everything was good still.

Of course everything has been great and I feel so indebted to Dan!

Not to mention, he was reasonable. It didn't cost me near what I thought and he worked very quickly.  It cost less than he quoted in fact.

Little did I know, because he looks so young, that he is very experienced.  I ended up calling him again a few days ago for my dishwasher, which I wasn't sure if it was plumbing or the dishwasher itself.  He told me to make sure I was getting water to the line first.  I wasn't! I was literally about to buy a new dishwasher, he saved me 350.00!!

Then fixed the line and my dishwasher works better than before.  I've got three kids and we run it twice a day, he has saved me.

Not only do I suggest you hire him, I suggest you don't bother even trying to hire someone else.

I trust him very much.  We were not here for a large part of the job and I felt completely safe and knew he would be working hard when I got back, and he was!!!!

I will tell everyone I can about his company, you should too.

I checked with my regular plumbing guy (Pina Plumbing)  about an issue that came up late on Friday, it was not something he does so he suggested Dan's Plumbing.  I left a message on Friday and followed up on Monday.  Dan came out Monday night and looked at the issue, arranged to come out Tuesday, which got pushed to Wednesday and then to Thursday (through no fault of Dan).  They came Thursday and within in an hour solved the problem, under the estimate.  Alicia (I am assuming the office manager) kept me up to speed on what was happening and kept me in the loop.  I cannot say enough about how easy it was to work with Dan.  I will definitely use them again.

This is a terrific company with great people. We found Dan through our local Next Door site  and then I checked on Yelp which confirmed the good reviews. We could not be more pleased. Dan comes when needed, charges a fair but not inflated price and does great work. We've had a few problems recently with a duplex with old plumbing. Each time he has analyzed the issue and done prompt and effective repair. Yesterday he went the distance to figure out how to unplug two bathroom sinks in 2 different units that were connected beneath. He didn't stop until he had figured out a way to get to the root of the problem and free up both sinks. Plus he's an exceptionally nice man.

He just left and I am so happy I could just YELP!

Today is the second time I have used him.

He snaked the sewer line the first time( simple) and did a good job, so I gave him another try when I needed two old toilets repaired.  He had to special ordered the parts and was back in three days as promised. Boom,Job done.
He shows up on time, completes the work, cleans up  and is less expensive.

It's hard to find good work with a reasonable price.

I am somewhat leery about promoting him on yelp because I am kind of selfish, so Dan save some time  on your calendar me.

I had a clogged laundry sink drain which I tried to clear myself and failed.  I called Dan's Plumbing and he was able to get someone out to my house the same day.  Marvin, who was very polite, asked a few questions and went right to work.  He cleared the drain, explained to me the issues and gave my some suggestions on how to avoid a clog in the future.  Great service!  I will use them again!

We recently thought we had a problem with our pump in our backyard.. With all the rain it wasn't quite draining  and our yard was flooding.. Lucas Bell, from Dan's Plumbing was at our neighbors home and I asked him if he had a minute if he could look at our sump pump as I thought I needed a new one and asked him if he could help us.  He came over when he was done at our neighbors house. I did not get to admire the fine work of Dan's Plumbing Service lauded by others on Yelp.  But, I discovered a broken water pipe just outside our house when I returned home from work last night.  Bernadatte returned my call within a half-hour.   Dan's didn't have any available plumbers for the next day so Bernadtete gave me the name of another plumber she trusted and she even followed up with me the next day to see if the other plumber responded and/or if I was still in need of service.  That is 5-star worthy in my book!  I'm not sure the other plumber's price was so great -- it seemed a a bit dear to me -- but it was an emergency, they responded right away, and seemed to do a great job so I went with it.   Thanks!

We had a kitchen drain backup going out through the clean-out valve at the back of the house( non-emergency). I was referred to Dan's Plumbing by Sofia @Bellows Plumbing, Heating and Air because they were short plumbers. Bellows did good work for us on a dryer venting issue in the past. Called Dan's in the evening and received a call back promptly the next morning. Asked me when I'd like someone out and an appointment set same the day!!Marvin their plumber came out and was quick to diagnose the problem. He made a full inspection of the perimeter of the house checking for any other backups or leaks. He ran the power snake through the drain for several minutes ensuring the clogs were addressed. In 40 years we've had only one other clog backup. Dans does good work. Not cheap $185 for 30 minuets BUT that's what plumbers seem to be  getting AND you get the work done right the first time. Would use these folks again.

I found water dripping through the ceiling in a bedroom downstairs, pulled down the sheetrock, and found a complete mess.  I called Dan's Plumbing on the basis of their good Yelp reviews.  They came out the next morning and stayed to complete the job.  Marvin and Dan explained what needed to be done at the beginning and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done.  The price was very fair.  I recommend them highly.

Highly recommend Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service. Our usual plumber was off over the holidays and Dan was available on a Saturday.  Not a special weekend charge just regular hourly fees.  He and his associate, Thomas, arrived earlier than expected and arrived within 20 minutes of their notification call.  He dealt with a serious shower blockage, did not give up with snaking and try to up-sell more costly intervention.  Done in under an hour!!!!! Local guy, very professional and worth his reasonable fees.

I discovered that we had a backed up sewer and called Dan based on the Yelp rating. I'm glad I did. He called me back promptly and was even going to give me references if I didn't want to wait until the end of the day. But I did and he showed up, snaked/rooted the drain, and was done with the job before that other MV plumber even called me back. He was reliable and up front about his availability. Very happy with Dan's job associated with our bathroom remodel.  We supplied the valve and shower parts, Dan prepped it with new plumbing, roughed in the new drain, and then installed the master shower, sink faucet, and toilet at the end of our tiling and remodel project.  He was on time, took his work very seriously, and did exactly what we wanted.  Dan and his helper were prompt and professional.  Couldn't be happier with his work!

We had three new toilets put in which turned out to be quite a long and winding road, as the new Toto Drake II's which Dan recommended were supposed to be top of the line. But we had problems with the amount of water in the flush from Day 1. After a couple of visits, it turns out that the newest Toto's came with updated parts and we were the first to get them. They clearly didn't work as well as the previous model, so once Dan replaced the new parts with the older ones, the toilets worked fine. It took multiple visits to figure this out, but he stuck to it until everything was working the way it was supposed to. That's what a real professional does. Will definitely use Dan's again.

We have used Dan's Plumbing: 1) Install of water heater in July & inspected by City/Town inspector who stated the best installation job he has seen. 2) A laundry backup on December 28 & Lucas (affable gentleman) was able to clear the line & correctly install laundry faucet; (previously installed by Bay Area Consumers' Checkbook) xxx plumber incorrectly installed the faucet. With no hot water, I called several plumbers at 4PM on Friday who all said sorry, not available until Monday. Dan said he would try to come out Friday night but if not, would come Saturday morning at the latest. After handling 2 other emergencies he did come out after 8PM on Friday night. It turned out to be nothing but a pilot light needing to be relit and he actually said no charge. Who does that? Integrity and generosity are not dead. Thanks again Dan, it was very much appreciated!

Dan's Plumbing has done three jobs for me and every single one has been professional, timely, and efficient.  I love the fact that there is always someone there to answer the phone (Bernadette) so I don't have to leave endless messages, that they are friendly and respectful, and most of all, PROMPT!  Once I had an emergency (which ended up being a false alarm) and both Bernadette and Dan responded even while on vacation, with a refreshing sense of humor when I self-diagnosed the situation.  Incredible. Most recently Lucas installed a new toilet, replaced a kitchen faucet and a garbage disposal.  These guys are so nice it's almost a joy to have them working in your home.  They will be my go-to plumbers as long as they're in business.

Had an emergency kitchen sink leak at my rental property, and was thrilled with the immediate and expert service provided by Dan's Plumbing. With little notice, Lucas arrived on a late Friday afternoon, quickly diagnosed the cause of the leak (the faucet!), raced to the plumbing store before it closed to pick up the needed supply, and without any issue quickly installed the new part and got it working again. I really appreciated his attentiveness to get the job done right- and fast, despite dealing with the hassles of late Friday commuter traffic. Very reasonable rates, friendly, and exceptionally competent. Highly recommend!

I had a slowly draining toilet, nothing requiring an emergency visit.  I left a message on his voice mail around 4:00 pm on Friday (along with messages at several other plumbers).  He returned my message promptly.  And although the problem wasn't something that HAD to be fixed over the weekend, he offered to come out on Saturday.  He gave me time window of 11:00 - 1:00.  Around 12:00 noon, he was courteous enough to phone me to let me know he was running a little late. He arrived at 1:25 (good enough, considering the advance phone call).
It is obvious he thoroughly knows his business, AND cares.  Began the problem solving, from simplest to more complex, and diagnosed the issue quickly.    Now, pulling up a toilet and snaking the pipe is not the cleanest or most hygienic task.  But, he wore shoe covers in our home, and laid down blankets to make it as clean as possible.  Fixed our problem in less than an hour, reset the toilet, and even cleaned the inside of the toilet to eliminate the scuff marks from the snake.
Dan is polite, efficient, and conscientious.
Plus, how could you not love a guy whose closest companion is Bella, the chocolate lab that is his copilot in the van?!?

My wife and I are new to San Rafael.  Our garbage disposal stopped working, so we called Dan's Plumbing because they were so highly rated on Yelp.  So glad we did!  John Rivas appeared on time as promised, and tried his best to fix the problem.  When it became obvious it couldn't be fixed, he gave us a complete and accurate explanation as to our options.  We ended up with a new disposal, but not before congratulating ourselves on calling the right plumber.  In short, John is a credit to the business.  As long as he and others like him work for this business, you can't go wrong.

This is a very good plumbing company.  I have used them twice and both times they have been great!. One of the times it was an emergency situation and they came to the house as soon as they could.    What I like is that they answer the phone or they get back to you right away. My next-door-neighbor for over 40 years in Larkspur  came running down the path with a business card in hand.  It was for Dan's Plumbing who she said was the best she'd ever found and said she had asked him for cards to hand out to the neighbors. As luck would have it my garbage disposal gave up the ghost the following week, so I gave him a call. He asked for the brand and model, said he could replace it or bring the next larger size, whichever I preferred, gave me the exact price, the anticipated labor cost, gave me the names of the two men he would be sending, said they could be there in the morning and gave me the expected time of arrival.  They came on time, finished the work in less time than anticipated, and left the area beneath the sink in immaculate condition. For very little cost they also replaced the U pipe had become corroded with time.  I couldn't have been more pleased with their work; they were very courteous and professional and thorough. Dan called that evening to ask if the job was done to my satisfaction, and my answer was most emphatically, Yes!  I will be calling them soon to replace aging metal pipes in other parts of the home.

Dan has been our go-to plumber since moving here.  He has been the first responder to numerous leaks (toilets, water line from fridge, dishwasher).  In the cases where he thought we'd be served better by someone with different equipment or expertise he has referred us to others (who have all been excellent as well).  I trust his opinion, judgement, and problem-solving skills.  Bernadette and Tyler are also personable and very helpful in resolving plumbing issues.  Definately give them a call!

I slammed an 18 pound turkey into our Grohe kitchen faucet on Christmas Eve and broke it into pieces.  Awesome timing -- the night before our biggest cooking day of the year, and just as all of the local hardware stores were closing for the long holiday.

I left Dan a voice mail at 5pm with a desperate call for help. Dan returned my call within 30 minutes and arrived at our house later in the evening with a replacement faucet in hand!  

How incredible that Dan had the exact part we needed on his truck, and was able to fix our sink on such short notice.  And he came on Christmas Eve and didn't charge us extra .. Thank you, Santa Dan for saving our holiday!

Excellent, efficient, courteous and responsive, we couldn't be more pleased with Dan's Plumbing! I called them after seeing the wonderful Yelp reviews. We had three relatively minor problems: a clogged shower drain, non-working garbage disposal and an outdoor fountain with a malfunctioning pump. Dan came over the next day, right on time and in less than 40 minutes had successfully snaked the shower, got the disposal working (it was merely jammed, which he took care of in one minute. A less scrupulous person could easily have reported it as broken and I would have purchased a new one!) , removed all the rocks in our fountain to get to the pump and took a photo of same so I could order a new pump. As soon as the new pump arrived, on Fri. afternoon, I called and we scheduled a follow up appt. for Tues. afternoon. Pump is now installed and fountain is flowing better than ever. Thanks Dan!

Dan is a terrific plumber--skilled, smart, and reasonable.  Bernadette, his resourceful, polite, and efficient front office person and wife is a pleasure to talk with on the phone.  Over the last few years, Dan has installed a toilet, dealt with clogged drains, put in pipes, and got our quirky water heater working.  He comes out quickly, usually the same day, is neat, clean, and well-organized, and always polite and upbeat.

Impressed by all the 5 Star YELP ratings, I gave Dan's Plumbing a call today to rescue me from a suddenly clogged, backed-up main. Undeterred,he worked right next to my beehives!  Efficient, friendly, professional, affordable, generous, smart, fearless. No nickel and dime-ing me. No upsell. In short: great. 5 more stars from yet another smiling customer! Also, ditto all the deserved  praises for phone-partner-communicator Bernadette!!! A+++++ all around.

We can't say enough good things about Dan's Plumbing.  Our hot water heater needed to be replaced ASAP (we have 3 young kids), and Dan's Plumbing came out right away and replaced it the same day.  Jose and his team were personable and professional, and they went above and beyond to make sure we had hot water within a few hours.  Their rates are also very reasonable.  Highly recommend Dan's Plumbing!

Dan was an excellent choice.  Initially I thought I had a leak in the main from the meter to the house so I set up an appointment with Dan.  Over the weekend, I did some digging - literally.  Turns out the issue was with my irrigation system.  Dan came out, shut off the system, checked the valves and understood the issue.  Rather than charging me his rates, he advised I work with a landscape guy he has worked with who does great work at a fraction of the cost.  In this day and age it is so hard to find honest people that do the right thing.  Plus he fixed my toilet while he was here and didn't charge me for the visit.  I would highly recommend Dan.

My husband found Dan's Plumbing to fix our shower handle.  It required a part be ordered that was very difficult to find.  But Dan and Bernadette stayed on top of it and kept me posted along the way.  He was on time, considerate, efficient and affordable.  I'd highly recommend!!

We had a plumbing emergency tonight.  We called around to find someone who could come quickly as we could not use the bathroom.  Bernadette was great on the phone and was able to get Dan to come by and snake our drain.  He was quick and honest.  He got the job done for a very reasonable fee.  The other companies we had called quoted double what he charged us.  I highly recommend him and plan to use him annually to keep our drains clean to prevent another emergency.

Dan is a tremendous find - thank you yelp and thank you dan!  We had a Sunday night kitchen sink debacle which lead me to finding dan so highly recommended on yelp. He returned my Monday morning call quickly and squeezed me in to his day. He arrived when he said he would and worked quickly and thoroughly. Not only did he fix my sink, he also gave me a ton of info to look out for in the eichler houses (we just moved into one), including a freebie clue on how to fix one of the toilets always running.  I really appreciate the work dan did and will definitely call back for future plumbing needs, should they arise.

I can't not mention how great Bella the choco lab is too - when I walked dan out after he'd completed his work, Bella was sitting in the front seat of his truck with her right arm/paw hanging out the window, just chillin, like a little dog human!  Too cute.

I called Dan's Plumbing because of the Yelp Reviews and because I liked that he has a dog in his logo and I am very happy with the service. John Rivas came over to clear out the kitchen and bathroom plumbing and I appreciate that he patiently explained what he was seeing and what my options were. Fives stars is not enough for Dan, he is a 10!!! We had a crazy situation happen at our house with the plumbing and to boot  my neighbors crazy landlord  got involved because we share a wall with her unit. When it all got crazy Dan was so cool and calm and beyond professional. This gentleman knows his stuff. He worked so hard and it was such a pleasure to have him help us out. I'm going to refer him to everyone I know. Plus he took the time to explain everything in great detail to me, I really liked that. It's been a long time since I have met someone who has so much integrity, professionalism and pride in his work. Also he has the coolest dog as his side kick, she is so beautiful and I love the way she hangs her arm out the truck window. Thank you Dan!!!!!!!!

Dan and Bernadette saved the day.  We had a backup from the main line and our toilet was leaking from the base.  This happened in our 1 bathroom home used by our family of five with three young children.  Dan snaked the line and installed a new wax seal along with a new toilet in a rapid 1.5hrs, staying exactly on budget and as quoted and with a same-day appointment.  It's no wonder these guys have so many 5-star ratings.  Thank you!!!

Recently a pipe outside was leaking and I called another plumber who was not able to come immediately.  They referred me to Dan's Plumbing.  I called Dan's and left a message and received a return call within 15 minutes.  I was put on the schedule for that same day within a 2 hour period.  The truck was running late that day so they called me within the last hour to let me know this and gave me another estimated time of arrival which was within the next hour.  When the guys showed up, they introduced themselves by name, were friendly, and quickly determined that the pipe was a connection to my sprinkler system so it could be turned off to stop the water waste and fixed at a later date when I will need to use my sprinklers.  The entire process took a total of 10 minutes so they did not charge me for their time.  The fact that they drove to my home and temporarily fixed the problem at no charge demonstrates great customer service.  I highly recommend Dan's Plumbing which is a small local company.

Wow.  Excellent, excellent service.  I had a broken water heater, and spent two days on the phone with the manufacturer's support line (it was under warranty).  They diagnosed (incorrectly, as it turned out) the problem by phone and said they would send a replacement part. After waiting two days to receive it I decided it would be best to have a plumber actually look at the water heater to make sure the diagnosis was correct.  I called seven highly rated plumbers, and all were busy for at least a week, and all told me that I should just wait for the part to arrive as parts were not carried locally for my brand of water heater.  It looked like I was in for an extended period of cold water, and then I got a call back from Dan's Plumbing. I spoke with Bernadette, explained the problem and she thought it was likely a different issue than that diagnosed by the manufacturer (and it turned out she was right).  She also said parts were available locally and that she would check on availability.  She located the part and called me back within an hour and scheduled an appointment for the next day.  Dan and one of his plumbers were out on time the next day and fixed the water heater (and helped with a side issue as well).  Great job all around!!

I called Dan on a Tuesday morning and he returned my call within 30 minutes. He gave me a two hour same-day window and called on his way over. He's friendly, honest, trustworthy and kind. He also diagnosed an additional problem that was costing me $30+/month in water. His prices are fair and he offered me a discount when I told him I wanted to pay in cash. I highly recommend Dan!

Today, our downstairs toilet overflowed while my mom was in the upstairs shower, and the upstairs shower backed up more than usual... Crap, I thought, I bet there are roots in the sewer again.  I went online to see if Roto Rooter was having any promotions or had any printable coupons - we've been RR customers for years.  On a whim, I decided to check out Yelp deals just to see what else was out there and came upon Dan's Plumbing and Sewer Service.  5 star average and over 30 reviews?  That's almost impossible in Yelp land - Sol Food doesn't even have that high of an average.  I gave him a call based on all of the positive comments on here and am SO GLAD I DID.  He's the most clean cut, personable, timely, competent plumber I've come across in a long time.  He called back quickly after I left a message and was at our house within a couple hours, even though our problem was far from an emergency.  He was incredibly thorough in his inspections and fixed both problems (tree roots and hair clogs) in no time flat.  His prices are beyond reasonable, too... I estimate we probably paid almost $150 less than what Roto Rooter would have charged, and that was before the Yelp deal!  Dan definitely has two new customers for life - my parents and myself.

this guy is phenomenal. Called him at 9pm on a monday evening and he was at our place at 730am the next morning.  He self admittedly couldn't fix the issue as he needed access to another unit in the complex--something i probably should have known.  Since he couldn't fix the problem he didn't charge us.  great guy.

We had a bit of a plumbing emergency.  The roots from our trees had grown into the pipes and nothing was draining!  We called Dan's Plumbing and he was out in the morning.  Dan was very nice, and worked quickly to repair the problem.  When he was all done, the bill came in much lower than expected.  I would highly recommend Dan's Plumbing and will be using him from now on.  Thanks Dan!

Well, given all the fake reviews on Yelp I saw all these five-star ratings and wondered about it, but not that I have had two problems in my home solved by Dan I am a very happy camper and highly recommend Dan.  Everything everyone says is true!  Dan is a really nice, decent guy, no attitude.  Bernadette in his office was incredibly communicative, calling me every step of the way to give me updates on parts that were needed.  Dan was thorough, attentive, very careful to clean everything.  I felt like he undercharged me and gave him extra because I was so happy that he had fixed a plumbing problem that had been a frustration for months.  I could not be happier.  Absolutely no hesitation about using Dan and I am recommending him to my friends.

I had one of those oh shit moments (pardon the pun) realizing that our sewer run to the street hit its annual clog point (tree roots). I called around and Dan came out within a couple of hours, did the job in a jiffy with no mess or drama. Nice guy. I'd use him again in a blink. BTW, his co-worker likes regular 7-up if you have any in the house.

I can't express enough what a great experience I had with Dan's Plumbing & Sewer Service.
So it's Christmas Day, I've got his, mine, and everyone else (!) over at my large enough for two, not meant for 12+ house.
We are all comfortably enjoying ourselves, elbow to elbow- but still enjoying ourselves, and the day, when all of the sudden an unmistakable odor takes over the house.
An uncle- who shall remain anonymous (since he footed the bill and everything...), RUINED my bathroom.
Scent alone would have been enough to call in hazmat suits. But we are family; we've been here before. The no go was that, well, it wouldn't go.
A friend gave me Dan's card a few months ago, and I happened to meet him at one of our local watering holes. Nice guy.
Despite my panic, I remembered to check my wallet and Voila!
It's Christmas Day, my one bathroom is down for the count.
Not only did Dan answer, but he was out in a half hour.
After a quick toilet auger my toilet was back in full commission- as was my celebration!
I cannot thank Dan enough. I highly recommend him.
I felt comfortable with him in my home, and plan on having him back for a couple projects I haven't yet been ready to take on. Having faith in my new plumber definitely makes me want to fast track them!
Even for holiday service, the price was reasonable, and I was able to continue on with our night- and more importantly, getting dinner on the table!

Wish I could give him 10 stars!  I stumbled upon Dan when our hot water heater blew under the house and was spouting hot water everywhere.  He was here (on a Saturday) in 15 mins and shut everything off. I made him keep his vet appointment for
his beloved dog, and he was back in no time.  I was positive I was going to have to replace the water heater.  Nope, he said I only needed a small, inexpensive replacement part and we had were good to go with hot water within 3 hours!  That was
the beginning of a long repair list we started making for him.  He replaced three toilets (that work/flush amazingly), faucets in one bathroom and the laundry room, re-piped a constant leak we had under the kitchen sink and fixed any leak I could find!!  He even snaked our drain on the driveway that clogs every year with leaves from overhead trees.  
His demeanor is the best I have ever come across, completely professional but like an
old friend.........extremely HONEST.
I foolishly put a lot of uncooked brussel sprout cuttings down the disposal last night.  Disposal continued to turn and churn but water would not drain.  Tried every trick in the book to no avail.  Called Dan in the morning, he fit me in that day, came and
fixed it in 20 minutes!!! When we went to pay him he said that it was his pleasure, thanks for all the work in the past and to recommend him to others (which we had done already a 1000 times).
Dan is the Man and it is so nice to have a plumber that is reliable and you know you can call anytime of the day or night.  He is #1 in my book.  Thank you Dan for all you have done for our home!

We bought new bathroom faucets from Ferguson's and they highly recommended Dan as someone they would use themselves in their homes.  Spot on recommendation!  Dan has been working as a plumber since he was 17...for other companies.  This last year he has gone out on his own and no doubt will quickly rise to the top as the man to call for plumbing in Marin.  A plumber who explains clearly what needs to be replaced and why, a hard-worker who knows his trade, careful, clean and truly a decent guy!   He will definitely be the man we call when we need more plumbing....either by choice or for an emergency.  Currently, his prices are more reasonable than the competition, which just sweetens the deal.  His skills and demeanor are simply first-rate and we will be recommending him highly to our neighbors.

Dan is great!  He was here yesterday installing new faucets and fixing a leak from a rotted pipe.  He is thorough, friendly and a perfectionist.  He made sure everything was just right, down to getting the old faucet hard water stains off the sink.  I can't recommend him more highly.  I have tried a lot of plumbers, looking for one that can be my go-to, and I have finally found him.  My dog loved him to - which is always a good sign to me!  Thanks, Dan!
