Truly appreciate the crew and staff at Discount Plumbing (Daly City) - Roberto sent over Ricardo to take care of our blockage and Ricardo immediately identified the issue and resolved it. But like a dining experience, expect to spend $$$$.
or bargain down 50% of their initial quote to get closer to market rate

I own a restaurant in Burlingame and have gone through many plumbers.
The person was nice and best of all, Antonio found issue with our clogged toilet immediately. Instead of just temporary fixing the issue, he went above and beyond to find an issue as to why it was occurring so much. He gave us great advice on how to prevent it and with 1 mo warranty, was much better deal.
I will start asking for their service in our other restaurants from now on!

Discount Plumbing provided professional and friendly service. I appreciate the thorough and fast work that Mike and Tony did for us and at a very reasonable price. Very satisfied with the work, we had Mike come back the next day to install a new toilet. He gave us recommendations, explained what he was doing during the installation, and gave tips on overall maintenance of our new toilet and existing (old) pipes.

My kitchen sink was clogged and water was not draining. Connor and Simon came out and unclogged it. They are very thorough and went down to the crawl space and discovered leaks and recommended a repipe. It was too much so at the end we removed a section of the pipe that was leaking, and did a descale to unclog old pipes that seemed quite clogged. Overall they were very nice to work with, super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their work. Thanks!

Blown away that I was able to get an appointment scheduled in less than 12 hours after I found water leaking from a bathroom into our basement. Breyman was great, on time and very courteous, he helped connect me with a water damage specialist to look into potential mold issues that may have arisen from the leak. Why does most plumbing issues happen at the least convenient time? My tankless water heater took a nosedive right before my shower at night. I email them for an appointment the next morning and within 30 minutes, I got real person confirming my appointment. Omar arrived on time and assessed my tankless water heater. Unfortunately after the maintenance check, it was obvious the water heater was done. It had a good run for 17 years without a hitch. I asked if Omar could get me a new replacement today and have it installed. Without hesitation, he said yes. Omar returned with Saul and completed the job. It's without saying, these guys were great. They were professional, courteous, and hard working. There company should be proud to have these guys. Oh by the way, the job was top notch too! The new heater set me back a few dollars, but you get what you pay for.

We called Discount Plumbing for our clogged kitchen and laundry pipes. Michael came out and spent hours assessing the problem. It turned out we needed new ones. Michael and his coworker (didn't catch his name) worked until 8pm when the new pipes were completely installed. Outside drain by kitchen door became totally blocked while the gutters were being cleaned -- debris from gutters got flushed down downspout and plugged the drain. Discount Plumbers was the poster child for the firm you want to reach when you have a problem. The initial contact on the phone was courteous, efficient and by checking was able to see they had someone available to stop by within the hour. Call was followed up with an email/text confirmation and the technician arrived within the promised window.

He - Saul P. - was courteous and got right to the task and assured me he would be able to clear the drain.

Drain was cleared, the charge was fair and I am very pleased.

Wouldn't even consider looking at my job. They could have made a few hundred dollars for one hour of work. All that had to be done was locate the correct adapter so the hose could work with my kitchen faucet. Plug unit into wall. That's it.

No too selective. Perhaps they don't like getting dirty.

No I would definitely not recommend. Bad customer support. If you don't have a job they like they turn you down.

If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Shame on Discount Rooter for turning down a vet!

From beginning to end, we had an excellent experience with Rafy of Discount Plumbing. I needed to find someone to replace my mom's leaking water heater. She told us that day that there was suddenly no more running hot water at her house. We had bought a new water heater but it was just sitting there in the garage.

It was near the end of the day, past 5:00, when I noticed a Discount Plumbing van in my neighborhood, and a gentleman walking towards the vehicle. I asked for a quote.

Rafy gave me a ballpark quote for what it might cost and had room in his schedule for the next day.

He arrived promptly at the agreed-upon time, explained to me exactly what services he would provide, in detail, estimated the amount of time it would take and how much it would cost.

He completed the job in 2-1/2 hours and showed me everything he had done. It was done professionally and cleanly, and he seemed to have excellent workmanship.

I feel that he was upfront, honest, and capable, and we could not be happier with the results.

Discount plumbing saved the day again! We have used them in the past for our sewage line replacement. They were very responsive and had the best price.

This time our thankless water heater went out on us after 10 years. We were trying to shower the kids for bedtime and had discovered we had no hot water. I called their 24 hour line and the person we spoke to was very nice and said they were booked for the night but could come out in the morning between 8-10am.

Got a call at 7:45 saying that their plumber would be arriving soon. Breyman came promptly and was very professional. I had not idea we had to flush the water heater yearly. Of course after 10 years of use it could not be fixed. Breyman gave us a reasonable quote and came back within the hour to fix it with another plumber Guillermo. They fixed it quickly and we now have hot water!

So happy with the service! Thank you Breyman and Guillermo!

One of our bathroom sinks sprung a leak over the weekend and I immediately called Discount Plumbing to get a tech out. I called super early in the morning and the call person said that everyone was booked up already that day but that someone would give me a call after 7:30 am. True to her word, a couple of hours later someone called and said they could get someone out that morning - awesome!

Franklin was the one that was dispatched to us. He arrived early in our window and within a couple of minutes, was able to pinpoint the problem and suggest a couple of solutions for us. He had the part we needed on his truck and was able to replace the item for us quickly and gave us back a working sink. Great and efficient service!

The company was busy the night of the clog, but promised to call back and schedule early the next day, a Saturday. They called on time, scheduled for the afternoon, then called back with an earlier spot. The plumber was on time, quickly assessed the situation and gave a quote and cleared it in less than an hour.

I didn't compare prices, but the amount did not seem out of line with other recent plumbing work in SF that I've had done.... which is to say pricey like everything else here.

Our kitchen drainage pipe had a leak. The initial plumber gave a pretty high quote and couldn't fix it immediately. we then called discount plumbing, and Ricardo was here within a couple of hours of our call. He quoted a price that was $150 lower, and said he could get started right away. He first put a temporary patch so we could use our kitchen again, and then completed the job the next morning. I was having trouble with the roof drain on my house, I have used Discount Plumbing several times. I gave them a call and Carlos G arrived on time, after cutting the pipe at the base we found a ball that had gotten onto the roof years ago and found it's way to the drain. Plus about 8 of roof gravel sitting on top of the ball. That's why no water would drain.

We recently replaced our sewer lateral from the house to the street with Discount Plumbing. We had a lot of concerns going into the job. How disruptive would it be to our daily lives? How damaging would it be to our newly installed garden. How long would it take? How much would it cost?

Answers: Discount Plumbing used the no-trench method (1 hole out in the street, 1 hole in the garden, and 1 hole where the sewer exits the house). They were very attentive to my wife's concerns about the garden and returned it to the same condition it was in before. They did the entire project in one day and left the site in impeccable. The price was very competitive.

In the course of the job, we learned that Discount Plumbing has an entire division devoted to sewer replacement with multiple teams running constantly with a two week backlog. In other words, they've got it down. And they do it all with a smile and a can-do attitude.

Our landlord initially hired a different plumber to fix a kitchen sink that was leaking and rusted. When they weren't able to fix it, our landlord connected us to Discount Plumbing Rooter.
Setting up the inspection was quick and simple. Carlos, the plumber was great. He was here within the hour, took a look at our sink and a separate toilet issue, went out to purchase a new faucet and parts, and fixed everything within the next 1-2 hours. I had a backed up toilet that was a wall mount version, which is more complicated to clear compared with a regular toilet. Fred M came out and was very friendly and tried several different methods to clear it, without any success. He told me that I would not be charged, since he was not able to clear the blockage and that another team member would come out the next day to remove the toilet so that they could clear it.

before leaving, he went outside and found an outside pipe that he was able to get access to, and after using a specialized machine, he finally had success in clearing the blockage.

I would definitely recommend this company as most other firms that I contacted told me there would be a fee for them to come out, no matter what.

This was also over Memorial Day weekend, and I didn't feel that the fees charged were exorbitant like some other companies.

Fred and Ricky were terrific. 1) even when running behind the company would call me to let me know the ETA, which was awesome. 2) they came the same day I called. 3) they were super thorough and even did timed tests for all my slow drains (other companies that came for estimates did not do that, those companies just looked and gave me quotes for hydrojetting and snaking). 4) they saw that I don't really have a pipe problem, and that my drains aren't really all that slow (and they didn't laugh at me!), and instead of selling me something I did not need, they were honest (which means no money for them since the estimates are free...). 5) they even explained why hydrojetting would not be a great idea for my 2nd story bathroom (SF home attached to 2 other homes). and 6) even though it was after 7pm and raining they still had smiles on their faces and were super friendly.

While they may not have gotten a paid job this time, they now have a loyal customer and if I ever have a plumbing problem again I will hire them first! I seriously recommend these guys.

My husband had been struggling getting up the gumption to continue to replace the faucet in the kitchen sink. He got the top part of the faucet in. We live in an old house, 1st deed 1910. I don't know how the owner of Discount Plumber can sleep at night. He and his plumber that came to our house took complete advantage of my father who is an elderly 88 year old man. For a simple unclogging of drain in sink and snaking an outside drain and unnecessarily replacing a fairly new disposal, they charged him $1700. Who does that and sleeps well at night? Apparantly, Robert the owner/supervisor and his employees do. They knowingly quote ridiculously high prices to the elderly who don't feel like they have any other choice and trust them to be honest in their business practices. Well, big mistake. Discount Plumbers are not to be trusted. Apparently, we are not the only ones who were taken from what I've read. I wish I had checked the reviews first. Stay away. You were warned!

Our outdoor faucet was leaking, and Mike came over to repair it. It turned out to be a much more complicated fix than it seemed originally. The main water shutoff valve handle broke, so turning off and on the water required a call to Cal Water, which took a lot of time. Repairing the leak itself proved complicated because of how the pipes were welded. The water refused to all flush out in a reasonable amount of time. Despite all this headache, what I really appreciated about Mike was his patience with the situation and him doing everything he could to make this situation right for me. I really appreciated his honesty and hard work. We plan to do a complete replacement of the main water shutoff valve soon, and I'll definitely be going back to Mike and Discount Plumbing for it!

Another plumber checked out my tankless water heater and it's not even broken, everything about it is perfectly working, the gas line just accidentally got shut off for some odd reasons. The pilot light went out on our water heater for the second time in as many weeks. The last time it happened we called the contractor who did our kitchen remodel. We didn't want to have to bother him for every little problem that occurred in the house, which is almost as old and out of shape as I am. I had seen Discount trucks often in the area, so I decided to try to get them to help. We called and Riccardo was on site and got the pilot relit within the hour. It was so simple that he did not charge us for the service. He counseled us about the replacement and ongoing maintenance of the water heater. Since we had bathroom remodels that needed complete renovation within a decade, I was very happy to receive such competent and honest service. Once again Discount Plumbing has proven to be the most honest and reliable plumbing company ever ! My elderly father thought the clogged kitchen sink meant that he had a plumbing issue so he called Discount Plumbing. Marcus C. showed up promptly to check on the problem. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a minor issue with the garbage disposal and not the drain pipe. Marcus fixed the problem within minutes and was so kind to my 93 year old father. I'm very, very disappointed that this company has fallen to such a low point. I've used their services perfectly happily over many years but in recent years I've had the sense that I was being overcharged. My most recent experience not only convinced me of that but also that I won't use their services again.

I had a straightforward pipe leak that required a simple pipe cut/replacement that would take maybe half an hour of work. I was quoted an astronomical $1,200 for this work. When I expressed disbelief at this price, the price estimate started going down several times but it was already clear they had tried to rip me off, so the damage was done.

Another plumber did the work for nearly a third of the price.

It's a shameful business practice to try to gouge your customers when they have a plumbing issue. This company has lost the trust of this previous long-time customer.

SFPUC texted me saying I had an uncontrolled leak at a rental property, and sure enough the water heater had blown and was pouring water into the backyard. Discount Plumbing showed up the next day to replace it. Ricardo was awesome, and even texted that he could arrive hours early. He and his partner worked all day outside through one of our atmospheric river storms to get the water heater installed. They even managed to repair the outdoor storage closet to make it work. I've worked with DP&R several times now at different location and they are always fast, reliable and communicate well. The bathtub for my toddler/soon-to-be-born infant was stopped. I called them during the middle of the holidays on a Tue, they had someone arrive on a Wed who gave a prompt quote for a snaking. The quote wasn't the cheapest but I recognize that I'm paying for the certainty that something is done (not to mention the 30-day warranty). The plumber (Elmer) worked at it for a few hours and then realized it was a problem with the plumbing in the house (built in the 1940s). Not only was I not charged for the snake work, he offered to come back the next day with a colleague to fix the plumbing -- and they did, on time, and at the estimate provided (and with a multi-year warranty on workmanship). That obviously wound up more expensive than the original snaking quote, but I shudder to think how this would've gone had I gone with someone who didn't know what they were doing.

Discount Plumbing may not be your cheapest solution but they know what they're doing and so I plan on going back to them with any future problems.

Discount Plumbing and Rooter responded to my Yelp inquiry. I had an issue with the tankless water heater in a condo that's rented out. They were on site with a plumber within an hour of the first contact. They sent a text with the picture of the technician both to me and to my tenant which was a nice touch. The technician diagnosed the problem and offered a repair the next day or a replacement the same day. I wound up hiring another company who had made a more competitive replacement offer, but their services were professional and I would call them again. What I also appreciated is that they didn't ask for an upfront service charge.

I was in need of replacing a new tank and had sent out a few messages through Yelp asking for quotes. I received responses from Starboys plumbing, Elite Plumbing, Wizard Plumbing and Discount plumbing. The first two was pretty much a rip off. They came and just threw numbers out without really assessing the situation. (I wanted to replace my tank with a tankless.) Discount plumbers wasn't the cheapest but they were willing to match or beat the competitions estimate. Wizards actually came in the lowest before discounts . They came in half of what Starboy and Elite had quoted to install a tankless water heater . Since Discount plumbers matches and beat the competitors quote by $200, I ended up picking them to do the job.
Btw the tech that came out from Discount plumbers was the most professional out of all of the other plumbing companies. He actually got his iPad out and itemized everything I needed. This made me feel confident that they knew what they were doing.
They came the next day to install the tankless water heater. There were 3 guys at my house doing the install and it took them about 4-5hrs to do the job. So it was a pretty quick process.
Once they left I had a chance to test out all the fixtures and noticed one wasn't working just quite right. I called the tech and he came out the following day to troubleshoot the issue. He suggested some work around and gave me a quote. I was pretty shocked at the cost to rerun a section of the line so I opted to call another plumber to check how much he would be able to do the new line.
The new plumber came in WAY lower and had been plumbing for over 20 hrs so I had him run the new line. And just to get his opinion on how the workmanship was from Discount plumber. He said they could have done a cleaner job. He noticed that the joints where they soldered the pipes weren't clean and dripped. The pipes weren't secured/ strapped so they can rattle when in use. He noticed there was unnecessary use of the flex lines where it can be done by welding the pipes together, therefore saving the customers money on material. Basically he said it wasn't the cleanest or best job but it does what it needs to. I'm attaching the picture of the workmanship so you can all judge for yourself. In the end the new plumber had fixed some of the minor issues and had told
Me that if he did the job I would have saved myself some more money. So that's my review on Discount Plumbers:

TLDR: discount plumbers did their job and was one of the lower estimates, but their job wasn't the best nor the cleanest.

I hired this company to come out and give me an estimate to replace my shower drain assembly.
They gave me an appointment for the next day, and they arrived on time as stated.
However, they definitely weren't Discount?? What was really a basic simple drain assembly replacement they quoted me $2700?? Which was absolutely ridiculous to say the least. I called another plumber who came out and the price was $360. !!!! Discount plumbing Plumber stated the prices were high because of all the operating costs of the company. I understand operating costs of the company, but this is absolutely ridiculous. The only people that could afford that kind of over pricing would be rich people who have so much money to spend they just say, go ahead and do it.
The plumber that came out was very nice, kind and understanding. I don't blame him, but I think the company and how they quote estimates is pricing themselves out of business and really cheating average people. Unless all their business is going to be large projects with rich people. They need to remove the Discount from their name!

They scheduled me an appointment same day! They actually were available to drop by earlier than scheduled and contacted me to see if they could come and give me an estimate (free). Upon doing an analysis of my situation, I was provided a quote and Sam Puentes didn't try to upsell me. In fact, he informed me that one of the issues PG&E brought up wasn't actually any danger, so that saved me a bit of money. Sam was up front about what he was going to do and took care of my gas line issue very quickly.

Timely and responsive. Friendly and honest. Really can't complain about the service Discount Plumbing provides!

Discount Plumbing is my go to for plumbing issues. A leak in the kitchen sink occurred about two weeks ago and I tried to DIY by caulking with sealant. However, the leak kept coming back no matter how much I reapplied.
The gasket was completely worn and broke two days ago. I had to call my go to plumber there, Carlos. He came today and replaced the entire drain in less than an hour.
Of course he quoted the price before the work and had the parts in his truck.
He was clean (placing booties on his shoes before entering), fast, and professional.

Rafy assisted me with inspecting and disconnecting the water supply line to my fridge. I have had 3 jobs with Discount Plumbing now. For the first one - replaced main water line, I did the usual shop of at least 3 quotes. One was double Discount Plumbing's quote, one was a no-show, and one was way below (questionably). Elmer patiently explained their process, I was sold, and they delivered as promised, on-time.

2nd Job - Marcus snaked a clog that wouldn't didn't clear from built-up grease, food, and who knows what after decades. We went to hydrojetting - I appreciate that it didn't involve unneeded chemicals and the sewer liner drained quickly afterwards and has stayed that way. DPB's green tech has been a selling point for me!

3rd job - water heater started gushing 2 nights ago. Called DPR the next morning. Connor was on his way by noon. He and his crew deftly resolved the issue by end of day, professionally and patiently answering my questions throughout the process.

Overall, great customer service and admin support from DPR techs in the field and admin staff in the office with each job. Hoping it stays that way since I prefer supporting local businesses!

In this day and age it's best practice to give an honest estimate. If this was your honest analysis, which I doubt then I would question expertise. Pass.

My kitchen sink stopped draining last night. I contacted my landlord who found these guys here on Yelp. Called them at 9am and they were able to come same day around 2pm. Conner was our technician that came to help. He was able to snake the drain and remove whatever was clogging it. From there, he also fixed the faucet and replaced the garbage disposal for us.

Really helpful, quick, and efficient service. There wasn't any wasting time to run up the bill or anything like that. Plus payment was super easy to just swipe with the credit card. I'd recommend to anyone who has an issue.

I called on Sunday right before their opening hour at 9 am and was immediately greeted. The person I spoke to was friendly, helpful and told me that the repairman Manuel would arrive in 30-45 minutes. He promptly arrived in about 30 minutes and assessed the problem. He indicated it wasn't the garbage disposal but a blockage in the drain and had to use the electric rooter. He was done in less than an hour. He provided a quote which I thought was high and not the discount of the company name, however I really needed to get this done since Monday was a holiday.

They were great and were efficient and reliable and quickly arrived on the Sunday before Memorial Day. If it had been on a wet day, I might have called other places but I needed this done right away and wanted to fixed despite the high cost.

Having to call a plumber to fix a big clog isn't fun, but these guys couldn't be more professional or delightful. They've twice helped us out, and were kind, professional and thorough both times. Went above and beyond to clean up after themselves and were overly polite about warning me about some noise while I was on a work call.

After watching a bunch of plumbing videos, I had tried (and failed) to fix the problem myself. Connor was happy to let me watch and offer a little tutorial on what he was doing. He also showed me that my $15 drain snake would never be able to get the job done, so I'm glad I called in the professionals.

The initial crew tried their best and were very thorough with their attempts to clear the drains on our new home. They concluded the piping would need to be replaced. After going through two other extremely disappointing companies trying to get service covered by home warranty company, I went back to discount plumbing and they sent their crew out the next day.

Adan and his crew finished early, were extremely friendly, and overall did a flawless job. I really appreciate their promptness, thoroughness, and their willingness to listen and take input about the job as they worked (I had a few small corrections to the piping done from the previous owners). Our 60 year old house had been having sewage backup problems which started with the City Public Works' flushing of the main line.
Discount Plumbing was referred by a trusted friend to see what the problem was. Their technician, Connor Griffin, responded and worked steadfastly on resolving the problem. First the sewage line to the street was replaced. Problem persisted. Discount Plumbing used expensive state of the art cameras and equipment to next discover that the interior cast iron pipes were clogged and needed to be replaced.

I called Discount Plumbing Rooter after reading previous positive Yelp reviews for the business, and after going through a horrible plumbing job from another plumbing company in the Bay Area. Ok how could I already not like this business when I called and they answered their phone immediately with How can I make you SMILE today? Boy, did I need to hear that on THAT particular day! The previous plumber came to check out what our issues were, and refused to move minor items out of the way to do whatever it was he intended to do behind my parents fairly new washed and dryer, and then wanted us to make extra special room for him to move behind things. That plumber said he would be back at a certain time he had us allotted for and after we took the time to move all he had suggested, HE NEVER RETURNED to do the job! Can you believe that?

Our angel in disguise - Brian - came out to my elderly parents home and was very willing to hear about our multiple issues with our very old Daly City plumbing.
Brian did his very best to help us figure out the problems with our pipes, and tried to find the best cost-efficient way to help us get what was essential for us to function smoothly at the house. He also carefully explained after completing each thing what the outcome of what he did was. One of our problems was underneath the House itself, and since we could not physically go there ourselves, Brian took pictures of what he saw in our pipes before and after his repairs by sharing pictures and videos of what he observed underneath the house. My elderly father, who is very stuck in his ways, refused to call a plumber for months even if he had to wash his dishes in the bathroom all because of fear of random strangers coming into
the house and possible expenses. My father's sink was very much out of commission since his kitchen faucet was only letting out a trickle of water. Finally my father gave into my idea of calling a plumber out to help figure out what was happening with 4 things 1) Trickle of water only coming out of the kitchen sink, 2) bathroom faucet dripping water and 3) garage pipe under the garage sink was leaking waste material and 4) The washing machine stopped working and no water was getting added to any laundry we put in. Brian was able to help all of us understand what he thought the problems were for each of our issues, what his ideas were on trying to fix it, and how much the possible cost would be for all of the repairs. We truly felt Brian's sincerity in trying to do the best job possible for my parents. The job he did was amazing and looked so professional.

I highly recommend Discount Plumbing Rooter to anyone who has plumbing issues. I particularly recommend our plumber who helped us, Brian. He completes what he has to do, and works efficiently, ALSO he was very Covid prevention-minded by wearing a face mask the entire time he was at the house, and covered all the walkways where he would be in and out with cloth covers to keep the house clean after all the ins and outs were needed to complete the job.

I want to say right off the bat, this review is about Fred. I've been on Yelp for over a decade &this is the first review I felt the need to type out & it is a journey.

My dad owns a 3-floor complex. He's not currently home so he asked me to look over it. Of course, a week after he leaves, trouble.

Last night, one of the units said all of their bathrooms are backed up. 2 bathrooms - tub, sink &toilet in each. After a long day, I went over there to look at what was going on. My dad has a friend that does housework &my dad told me to contact him. We were there for 3 hrs &he was not able to fix anything.

My dad's friend called someone w/better tools but he wasn't going to be able to help until 9am. I didn't know what else to do. I had to tell the tenants that we weren't going to be able to do anything until the morning. Understandably, they were worried about going through the night w/out a toilet &bath. This was also my 1st time dealing w/anyone in the apt. It weighed on my mind the whole night.

This morning. I thought my dad's friend was set w/ meeting at 9am. Nope. The earliest he was free was 1pm. After the night before & this first thing in the morning, you could understand my frustration.

I went on Yelp to search for plumbers. I landed on Discount Plumbing Rooter. They said they would have someone out in the next half hour. Having a pro there earlier than I thought I would was a big weight lifted off my shoulders.

The plumber, Fred, came shortly after. Being a fellow Fred, I already knew he was going to be awesome. Little did I know, that would be a total understatement.

He took a look around, asked me to show him where things led, assessed what he thought was going on &gave me a quote within 15 minutes. After agreeing, he went right to work.

The unit that was having the problem was on the 2nd floor. If you've seen equipment that plumbers use, you know that getting them up a flight of stairs is work. I asked if he needed help &he politely declined. I sat at the stairs by the unit while he went to work.

There were many difficulties that happened through the job. He said there was a lot of toilet paper in the unit's pipes. It took over 1.5 hrs to get everything clear. He got the unit's pipes clear, but there was still something making the pipes back up. He instantly knew it was a main pipe problem.

He asked if we had roof access. This is a 3 story unit. The roof would be the 4th floor. The only way to access it is with a stationary ladder from the 3rd floor. Without hesitation, he grabbed his pipe camera &made his way up. I know how much work he had done already &once again, asked if he needed help. He declined again..

After half an hour on the roof, he asked me to come up &look at something on the camera. He found a piece of cardboard in the pipe &it was causing the backup. He had been trying to dislodge it for half an hour &had no luck. The cardboard &toilet paper that was stuck on it was stuck to the pipe. He told me that the pipes were clear for now but would be backed up again within the next few days. I asked him what he thought I should do. He began to explain it to me but I think I zoned out as the anxiety of having this ordeal be extended started to set in.

I'm not sure if he sensed me zoning out. Maybe we have a telepathic connection since we're both Freds. After I just looked at the ground silently for 10 secs, he said he had one more idea.

After over 2 hours, this was the only time he asked for help.

He called me on my phone &made sure we were both able to hear each other. He asked if I could go down to the unit, turn on all of the sinks &bathtubs &wait for instructions. He told me to flush one of the toilets when he said to. 3-2-1-Flush.

Over the phone, he said WE GOT IT. I was in disbelief: IT'S OUT? He said yes, it's cleared.

While I was standing there silently on the roof, his mind ran &came up with the idea of running all the water to increase pressure in the main pipe, flushing to add more pressure while hitting the clog with the camera at the same exact time.

You do not know how much of a relief it was to know it was over.

Fred worked hard for almost 3 hours, climbing up/down stairs/ladders with heavy equipment, not complaining. Fred did not know what I went through the night before or this morning. It was just another job for him. But, if he does every job with this much perseverance, ingenuity & stride, he deserves praise. If I was in charge of his check, I would give him a raise &a bonus just based on this job alone.

I have no knowledge of plumbing. He made sure he used his knowledge to help me. I am EXTREMELY grateful.

This was my first time dealing with a plumber &I hope, if I need another one, the plumber is Fred or is as good as Fred is. My only fear is that there isn't one.

Fred, thank you so much. Although I paid for the job, I still feel like I can never repay you. You have given me peace of mind.

We called Discount Plumbing today for an emergency backup at our house. All of our drains and toilets In our house were clogged and backing up. They responded quickly and had a technician out within two hours (on a Sunday too, which was really surprising and helpful).

After discussing what we had tried to fix the problem (using snakes and plungers, with no luck) we walked the house and discussed our options. Elmer the technician recommended using a high powered jet nozzle to clean out our main sewer line. He had to get on the roof to access the sewer vent and he was able to complete the job from there. He wore a mask the whole time and did a great job of social distancing the whole time he was on site.

I really appreciated when he showed me and my son (who was very curious about what was happening on our roof) what he was doing when he sent the special camera down the line to inspect the cleaning process that he had just completed.

Elmer also offered a quote for a solution to add and additional clean out for maintaining our sewer drain going forward and saving ourself more money in repairs in the long run.

I really appreciated Elmer's honesty, kindness and overall attitude. The solution he recommended worked and our house is back up and running.

I would definitely recommend Discount plumbing to anyone having plumbing issues or needed help with repairs.

I like it that Tony showed up like he said he would. Discount Plumbing kept me in the loop as to where he was. I thought that was respectful. I didn't have to wait and wonder if he's one of those, Yeah, I'll be there and never show up. Not one phone call, nothing. Up to this day, I still haven't heard from that plumber. Carlos came to my apartment to fix leaky pipes under the kitchen sink and replace the InSinkErator.

Carlos (and our handyman) had explained to us that leaking was inevitable due the way the old pipes were set up, which creates immense water pressure (the drainage flow couldn't naturally make its way down). So Carlos had to replace and re-structure all the pipes under the sink, which he did in 2-3 hours. He accepted the Yelp discount coupon, and also stated that there is a 30 day warranty on his work.

I am pleased to report that a week later, the pipes are still working--will update the review.

Considering it's a Sunday, just after 5pm, 2 guys came right away to help fix the plumbing under the kitchen sink. They replaced the whole plumbing system, connected and checked the new garbage disposal and repaired also the dishwasher connection, all for $325. They were fast and efficient, always checking and rechecking each other's work. Done in just an hour.
They also saw another issue with my faucet but it'll have to wait for another job order.

We did not end up going with Discount Plumbing Rooter. The first estimate came in ~$1,800 higher than a different provider, and the updated pricing (after we reconsidered the project) never came in. I didn't bother chasing.

Franklin clearly knows his stuff and I appreciated the manager following up on the first quote, but the project seemed to fall off their radar.

Maybe next time! I do like the ease of getting in touch with the office and respect the good reviews they've received.

Kitchen sink clogged and Discount Plumber was only one out of 10 plumbers could come next day. Antonio was super knowledgeable and nice. $425 to snake the drain and he offer tips on preventing clogs. Our water heater stopped working so we decided to call Discount Plumbing. That same day, which was a Sunday, Elmer was able to come out to inspect it. Turns out our water heater broke (normal wear and tear) and we needed to replace it. Elmer said he's able to get the part and do the work the next day. He apologized and wanted to send another plumber out to demonstrate that they aren't all representative of Efrain, the offending plumber. However, I rejected any resolve as they were given priority over any other plumbers to take on the project to begin with.

I did appreciate Adam's attempt to resolve this. My thoughts? You employee and their work represent you already. The good, and the bad. Your status quo shouldn't have that much discrepancy in the first place.

This is the second time that we hired this company. I have one comment-this company was so good I wish that Yelp would allow me to give them 10 stars!!! I had what I thought was a simple job-replace a kitchen faucet and attach a filter to it. Angelo came to do the job. He found that I had bought the wrong faucet at Home Depot. He went to a plumbing supply house. He bought the proper faucet that would fit our sink and support the filtration system. When he got under the sink, he discovered a plumbing disaster. He worked diligently for four hours to get the mess cleaned up and working properly. He is a most professional and honest person. I was delighted with the results. We had issues with our toilet not flushing and noticed a leak. We called Discount Plumbing and they sent out a technician the same day! Our technician, Adan was professional, very clean, and followed the covid-19 precautions when working in our home.

After removing the toilet, he discovered that toilet paper was clogging the pipes and explained to us what he had to do to fix it. He quickly snaked the pipes, replaced our toilet, and cleaned up the mess.

This is for a review for services that happened on April 25, 2020, that I inadvertently posted on another company's Yelp page.

we called Discount Plumbing & Rooter (Discount Plumbing, Inc.) to come out to inspect and snake the plumbing on a NON-emergency basis after a well-meaning tenant attempted to fix the problem themselves by partially removing the garbage disposal and dismantling the plumbing on his own. DP&R's plumber, angelo, arrived, inspected the area, made grim assertions, and showed us two estimates for possible repairs. i made the mistake of not following up with my request to have the two estimates emailed to me when i asked because i had to return to a conference call i was on, and i agreed to have the line snaked first, and then, if that didn't fix the issue, more aggressive troubleshooting, and repairs, and he began working. from memory, i recall that the price was to be $178 to snake it (only), and $378 to dismantle the (newly-installed as of Aug 2019) garbage disposal and repair because it appeared to be leaking. turns out it was weeping because the tenant removed one securing nut on the collar connecting the garbage disposal to the sink. a simple error that a skilled plumber would spot almost immediately. there was NOTHING else wrong with the garbage disposal.

the plumber made grave assertions before beginning and after the snake job about how he would personally remove it if it were him because tenants will always put things down the drain that don't belong or they'll overload the garbage disposal too much. the additional cost to remove the garbage disposal per his recommendation was $434 after snaking the line. his said this astonishing amount was justified because he needed two items he didn't carry; one being a specialty plumbing piece (the plumbing piece to tie into the drain the dishwasher) and the sink basket strainer...both, turns out are VERY common and i later found out from another plumber that they cost LESS THAN $40. DP&R's plumber said they don't install 'cheap' components and that's why it costs so much. since the job was snaked and the line was flowing as it should, i instead opted to have everything restored as it was.

two things i cannot stand in a vendor providing a service similar to this: 1. telling horror stories of what 'could' happen in a worst-case scenario, and generally over-sharing when he/she could simply fix the issue, and most importantly, 2. do NOT discuss the issue or corrective measures with the tenant who is NOT paying the bill!

COVID-19 and WFH: on this day, i couldn't give my complete attention because i was in the middle of my workday, conference calls, work obligations, and having to step out to meet with the plumber and discuss actions, costs, etc., while also dealing with my tenant was a bit of a nightmare. i also asked the plumber to step outside with me and refrain from discussing with the tenant any issues with the work or what he discovered during the job.

all told, we were charged $378 for what turned out to be a simple snake (rooting) of the line. this is approximately double what it should have cost and was the charge to disassemble and fix the garbage disposal, when in fact, it was only missing a securing bolt, NOT broken, and would have required removal to snake the line as it was which would have been included in the original charge.

note to this company: educate and remind your plumbers that, aside from simple questions, they should NOT be speaking with anyone who is not the person responsible for paying the bill, period.

FOLLOW UP: considering my first review and how we felt completely over-charged, DP&R had the audacity to attempt to charge us for another visit to fix the weeping (very slow leaking) seals we had on the garbage disposal. after speaking with your plumber, he told you he didn't touch the garbage disposal, except that i have pictures of it removed so the line could be snaked! he even insisted we buy a new garbage disposal (this one was new in august 2019) because you stated you didn't have the parts and they only come with a new garbage disposal kit. you finally agreed to send angelo back out to fix the job he didn't complete in the first place. so far, so good (one star), but zero for your greed in a time of high stress and confusion.

customer beware: steer clear of this business unless you know plumbing and you obtain pricing BEFORE they arrive.

Robert and Connor were great. I had a clogged sink. Worked a consumer-grade snake that I had about 5 feet past my sink but the clog was still there. These guys removed a clog about 14 feet in and the water still wouldn't flow. They tried again and managed to get 25 feet. Still no go. So they went and got the big guns and cleared out 25 feet. Can't say enough about the the service I received today. Found Discount Plumbing base on 5 star Yelp. I could see why immediately. My water heater was having issues so I needed someone out quick. They gave me a window of 11-1 I was totally fine with that however I received a call that they had a guy in the area and he could come by now. I probably should give 10 stars since I've had 5 star service twice now!

A month ago we had two toilets that would not stop running. We found Discount Pluming and they sent Elmer out who did a really great job and charged a very fair price. This week the sprayer hose broke on our kitchen sink. Given our good experience we decided to call Discount Plumbing again. Robert came out and changed the hose for us in under 10 minutes, and the price was unbeatable. I hope that we never need anymore plumbing work, but if we do I'll call Discount Plumbing again!

Also, both plumbers wore face masks and gloves due to covid, and also wore shoe coverings to protect our floors. They were also both very polite and guarantee their work!

After a failed attempt to get a plumber from another company, we decided to give Discount Plumbing Rooter because it's close to where we reside. I requested a quote via Yelp and I got an immediate message instructing me to call to schedule an appointment. Marcus was the worker who came out to evaluate our running toilet. He was very professional and was prepared to put on booties over his shoes before entering our home which we really appreciated. He assessed both of the toilets in our home, replaced the parts that was causing the constant running, and all within an hour. Reasonably priced although we've never had this issue so unsure if it really was but Marcus was amazing so it was worth it.
A couple days later, we had to call the company again because the toilet started running again. Marcus literally came back to fix the defective part and it's been running like new again. Thank goodness for the warranty they provide with their service that we didn't have to pay for the second visit. We definitely recommend Discount Plumbing Rooter and hopefully we won't be needing them anytime soon, but at least we've found a company if we ever do.

Yachua and Manuel did a great job replacing a large section of old sewer pipe and two T's that were badly leaking.
The pipes are located in a very tight crawlspace making the job much more difficult. None of that stopped Yachua and Manuel. The price was very fair, a rarity in San Francisco.

Man what a night, I thought me and my two roommates were going to go without hot water last night as my heater was leaking from the bottom, I called two other companies, no show!

We've had a leaky faucet that became really bad over the past two weeks. Then we also noticed that our garbage disposal was leaking. The company my dad works at had used them for their shop, so we decided to give them a call. We were able to schedule an appointment for the following day. They did a great job at communicating who our plumber was and when they were going to arrive. Mikey did a great job at explaining all of the issues we had and what would be needed to fix them. He fixed everything so quickly and explained what additional parts we had left over for the garbage disposal. Just called to request information about their services and they insisted the plumber would come out to give a free estimate. I dont like how they're not straight forward with giving an estimate of an exact work I am asking them to do, but I was willing to give it a shot if they can come over within a short period of time. They then put me on hold for 10 minutes with 2 other attendants picking up the phone to see if I been helped, and the original person came back and said not until later today. When I said let me call back if I still need help, they just hung up rudely.

If this is how they treat potential customers imagine how they treat you when you are hooked line and sunk. Their Customer service stinks worse than a flooded toilet.

We had a strange water backup in our garage sink that flooded. Not a simple drain clog.
They got the job done as estimated and went above and beyond when there was a pipe fitting leak caused by the drain cleaning.

I contacted the office/answering service 5 times on 12/24/20. No response or call back received. An ongoing issue is with a leaking water heater that was installed by this company on 12/19/20. Each time I called on this day, I was informed a message would be left with the on-call technician, and I would be contacted shortly. I did not receive a single call back. The water heater was installed on 12/19/20. As of 12/25/20, it is leaking once again and has been leaking 4 out of the first 6 days since installation. This is not normal for a new water heater. This is a disaster. My previous water heater did not leak once in 18 years until it was replaced on 12/19/20. On 12/26/20, I attempted to reach someone again, but encountered a very rude and unacommodating representative. I left another message. As of 12/31/20, the water still leaks after 3 follow-up service calls. Still unresolved. Poor response, customer service, and workmanship. Now I am stuck with the cost for a pressure relief valve for my water line and expansion tank. This will cost me approximately an additional $1000. What a rip off. This work should have been evaluated or discussed from the outset for my water heater installation and the 3 previous service calls. Discounts (i.e. Discount Plumbing) always ends up costing more. Stick with another place for your plumbing issues. This is not the place.

No one showed up. I was OK... Things are different now. I called 30 minutes after my window and most of their number are not reachable and when you do get someone it's a surly answering service. I never got a call back. I called again, now it is 1 hour past the window and I got the actual company and was told, oh they are running late how late? Unknown. They never called to let me know they were running late. If they had, ask would be fine.

4:30pm thanksgiving day headed downstairs to get my pies and leave for dinner, only to find large amounts of water from my downstairs bathroom. I called Discount Plumbing Rooter early in the morning. They answered my call very pleasantly. I had a clog in my sink and didn't know what to do with it. They said they had some time to come in the afternoon, but I was going to be busy. They said they can squeeze me in the morning (super accommodating and nice as it was a last minute request!). Sam showed up earlier than expected. They called to confirm that this was ok and I also gave them some instructions on what to do upon arrival (my daughter was sleeping still!). Sam was very professional and friendly. He had shoe covers ready and a mask (I was pleasantly surprised by the shoe coverings). He came into my place and assessed the damage- he told me what he would do and what could be the possible outcomes. He also quoted me. He said it would take about 15 minutes but maybe more. I felt like it took 5. I guess I didn't have such a huge problem. He told me what I could do for next time (very helpful). Noticed my water heater leaking in the early evening on a Friday. I called Discount Plumbing and they were able to drain the water heater that night and move it to the street. I called discount plumbing because I noticed that there was a puddle of water below my water heater. Connor came by my house earlier this morning and assessed the problem. After noticing that the water heater was from 2001, he recommended we replace it.
He drained the heater and removed it and even cleaned up all the mess from before then Installed a brand new rheem heater.

I had the worst luck this week, my hot water heater went out in the middle of the night, I contacted Discount Plumbing, they were the first to respond back and took care of the hot water heater by 9am. The plumber was knowledgeable and fast. Did everything for a very reasonable price . Few days later, my shower was out. Turned out I had a older system which needed to be upgraded. They came out again, showed me every step what they are doing and why. I learned a lot. The people are friendly and knowledgeable, service is great and the prices are very reasonable. Adan Briseno and the team did major sewer repairs for our 140-year-old home. They were thorough, had the highest degree of pride in their work, were friendly, and even made some touch-ups we requested for appearance purposes. I called Discount Plumbing to fix a leaky toilet. I called at 8pm Monday night and told I would receive a call Tuesday. I am a SF realtor who listed a property in Burlingame in Feb. I sold the property to my client's grandmother in 1995. I recalled that at point of sale it was mandatory to provide certification to the planning dept. that the property passed the sewer lateral pressure test.
Although the sewer plumbing system had been replaced in 1986, I contacted the Burlingame planning dept. I was informed that the sewer system pressure needed to be retested since it was more than the required 25-year mark that the sewer plumbing system was replaced and had not been retested since. I was also informed that the plumber needed to be on Burlingame's list of approved plumbers to perform the test.
I became preoccupied with the pre-marketing work and upgrades needed for the property as I was trying to meet meet the first public showing deadline. After the first showing a colleague referred Jason Wells with Discount Plumbing.
I left a voice message with Jason and he responded within hours. He informed me of what needed to be done. He filed for the necessary permit and contacted the City for the appt. with an engineer that needed be present during the inspection. Jason informed me that the scheduling with an engineer could take some time.
After 2 weeks of marketing my client received a few offers. The accepted offer was to close in 10 days. Panic set in and I contacted Jason to inform him of our closing schedule. I contacted him more than once concerned about the testing and the possibility that repairs were needed which could delay closing. Jason was very reassuring and having reviewed the plans from 1986 he said that the sewer system should pass the test.
I met Jason at the property within the week of closing. He was early and had started to fill the lines. He explained the process and that he needed to wait for the engineer to arrive. He patiently waited in his service truck.
After some time the engineer arrived. Jason informed me afterwards that the system passed the pressure test. He prepared the the necessary paperwork and handed it to me. I was so relieved. My anxiety would have risen to another level if it had not...nothing worse than an over anxious realtor haha.
Jason was efficient, timely with reassuring responses to my anxious messages and extremely kind. I would highly recommend Jason to anyone needing plumbing repairs or upgrades.

We had a clog in the drain that needs to be fixed immediately as water was overflowing the sink. We tried to fixed it and realized we needed a professional to do it as the problem was further down the pipe. I called for a quote for a clogged kitchen sink and they sent someone over to give me a quote. He quoted me almost $900!!! He said that he was not going to be able to unclog it because it was further down the pipe than under the sink and he would have to take apart the whole sink and locate the clog all the way under the bathroom floor. I called another plumber who came, plunged it several times and was able to clear it in just a few minutes. HE CHARGED ME NOTHING. (I tipped him well for solving my problem). What a scam!!! I never like to leave bad yelp reviews but this is so dishonest and that is NOT ok. Should not try to rip people off like that. I don't know if it's because I'm a woman and I live in a nice building he thought I would fall for it? So dishonest!!!!

My drain stopper was not working. The water was not draining. Joseph came out and looked at the stopper. It is the original stopper to the house, so it was over 30 years old. He, without consulting me, sprayed WD40 on the stopper. I asked him if he was sure this would work, he said well it looks like it. The stopper moved and the tub was draining. I asked about the cost to replace the stopper and he said it would cost his time ($189/per hour) to drive to San Francisco and return to Daly City, the cost of the stopper $16 plus $189/per hour for showing up. Because he didn't want to charge me what it would cost to get a new stopper he opted to not put in a new one. I thought well if that's his professional opinion, he's sure this will work then okay. I paid him $189.

The next day the drain was not working due to the stopper. I called him several times and finally got a hold of him three days later. Explained to him what happened. I asked him what was it going to cost me to have him put in a new stopper. He said $189, plus $16 for the stopper. I asked him why didn't he put in a new one when he came the first time, because now it was costing me nearly $400 for a stopper, when it would've been half that if he had done it when he first came out. He said he was trying to save me money. I told him, do you think it's good business to charge me $400 for a stopper? Doesn't that seem extremely high to you? He said no he didn't. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He put Cody on the phone.

I asked Cody the same question. I also told him I'm not a professional plumber, I RELIED on Joseph's professional judgment to make the right decision the first time he came out, and he didn't. Is that my fault? Cody said that was Joseph's professional opinion and paying $400 for the stopper sounded right to him. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said it's a family business. I asked to speak to someone who had more authority than he did. He said he was the boss. I told him if he continues to do business this way he won't be in business much longer.

There was no effort on Cody's part what so ever to remedy this situation. I told him my husband is a contractor and he would never treat his customers this way. Ever.

No one likes being surprised by an emergency plumbing problem. Recently we had water backing up and no idea what the source was. It was getting worse by the hour. We called Discount Plumbing and they had someone out to us same day and within 90 minutes ON A SUNDAY. Thoughts of exorbitant costs and multiple visits to figure it out raced through our heads. The gentleman from Discount Plumbing took the time to inspect everything from our water heater to our clean out. His thorough inspection narrowed it down to the clean out. He retrieved the right equipment and fixed us up in an hour. It was truly exceptional and professional service. But it didn't stop there. With life back to normal we submitted the invoice to our insurance hoping they'd reimburse some of the expense. The bill wasn't exorbitant but with a family to feed and monthly mortgage, every little bit helps. Initially our insurance declined to cover any of the cost. But, after connecting the insurance adjuster with Discount Plumbing, I got a call from my insurance company. I don't know what Discount Plumbing said to them, but my insurance decided to cover the whole thing. Didn't cost us a penny. We can't recommend Discount Plumbing enough. Thank you all!!!

I have Rental property in SF .
15yrs ago I had a sewer pipe break , spewing its contents all over the large tree in front of the building . The roots had grown into the pipe and reached into the basement , what a mess.

I had Angelo installed a new water heater about 2 years ago. It was done very professionally. Somehow the water heater stopped working 3 days before Thanksgiving. The pilot was on and off so I had no hot water for a couple of days. I called the number Angelo written on the water heater on the day before Thanksgiving and scheduled a plumbing service in the later afternoon. Angelo arrived on time and assessed that the pilot assembly unit was broken. He quickly went and picked up a replacement unit and fortunately the unit was still under warranty (no charge). Angelo replaced the assembly unit again professionally in time for Thanksgiving. Thank You!

My husband and I were selling our house and was not informed about new sewer regulations in Pacifica. Called and spoke with Jason who responded promptly to my request and inspection. I did get other estimates. Jason and Discount Plumbing & Rooter's bid and scope of work was very thorough and under the other estimates we received.

The team arrived as scheduled and Alex as the Site Supervisor and his team were very professional efficient and completed the work as agreed to. Alex explained again the work completed and made sure they left the property, sidewalk and street clear and clean of debris.

Our toilet tub has been always flooded and since then we didnt realize that maybe it was something under that has to be changed. So we thought about calling Discount plumbing to come and check our tub that has always been clogged and they sent ELMER to go check and fix it. ELMER did a great job from explaining every detailed problem of our bath tub that has been clogged for forever. When we called Discount Pluming, a really awesome lady/girl arranged an appointment with their plummer, Adan. When he arrived at our house, he was very kind and respectful: he took the time to answer our questions and he also made recommendations regarding products in the market.

I called regarding a clogged bathroom sink. Carlos came. He was at my home within an hour. Carlos was extremely professional, very polite and knowledgeable. He looked at the pipes and suggested I change the configuration. Apparently, I had too many right angles which is the cause of the problem. Being that he had all the tools and parts in his van, the job would be done in less than an hour. He was not kidding. In 35 minutes he was out the door. I couldn't be more happy with the service. I cannot say enough good things about Fred and Discount Plumbing. They came out with very short notice and were able diagnose and fix a problem we were having with our drains needing to be cleaned out and rotored. This is my second time using Discount. The first time they replaced my sewer lateral for me. It was a big job and they were by far the cheapest around and recommended by the city. 5 years later we have had no problems with the sewer line since then. Now Carlos has come out to replace a corroded drain pipe that was welded in place. He arrived within 30 minutes of me calling and was polite and efficient. He immediately got to the root of the problem and within 10 minutes had the parts and got working. Carlos used shoe covers and was attentive to keeping my house clean.

Amazing service from start to finish. Pilot on water heater went out and couldnt get it to relight. Specialized tank needed a part ordered, but once they had it, it was installed same day. These folks amazed me. I had an irrigation valve that was flowing and wouldn't shut off. I am competent to change an irrigation system controlled valve (PVC pipes), but it can not be done with the water system pressurized. I was certain that there was no water shut off to that pipe. All of my know shut offs valves were downstream of that pipe. I assumed it would have to be shut off at the street and I was going to have them install a shut off valve. They came out when they said they would. He expressed doubt that I had no shut off. He followed pipes and moved things around in my basement to reveal a shut off valve I never knew existed. Eureka! I could now repair that valve and replace a worn out faucet. He wouldn't charge me! I was willing to pay. He had come out and solved my problem. Golden service. Thank you.

A friend recommended Discount Plumbing Rooter for leaky bathroom and kitchen sinks. Fred came over exactly on time and was very polite and willing to answer questions we had during the process of changing the faucet. I was really impressed with their responsiveness. My kitchen sink was leaking and I called them on Fri morning at 11 AM and they were at my place by noon. It turned out it wasn't a leaky pipe but that might garbage disposal was old and broken. They replaced it with a new disposal incredibly quickly -- I got lucky as they had one on hand that I understand they would not normally (they would normally have to go and buy it) but it was so impressive at how quick everything got done. I had a new disposal and my kitchen was no longer leaky 2 hours after I called in. Mike was my plumber -- and he was incredibly nice and effective. It was not cheap -- it cost around $550 -- but it was fast. And for me that was a fine tradeoff.

I just wanted to post my review here as well, because I'm not sure which yelp page is managed!

Overall, I had a really pleasant experience. After doing my own research, I determined that I needed to replace my garbage disposal. I called around, and this company was able to schedule me on my work from home day. They told me the estimate would be free so if I decided to go with another company (depending on the estimate), it was no problem. Per their instructions, i received a call approximately 30 min before the plumber was to arrive, within my assigned time window. After about 45 min after the scheduled arrival time (so 1.25 hours after I received the call), I called back to inquire if they were still coming. They put me on a brief hold, and spoke with the plumber. He was a little delayed due to picking up a disposal in case I didn't have one (they didn't know I already purchased one and had it ready to go). They apologized and quoted me another 20 min, and low and behold, Angelo showed up 20 min later. He put booties on his shoes, as to not scuff my hardwood floors, without me even asking. He took a look at issue, and quoted me a price. I was able to add the coupon for $50 off to match my other estimate I had received, so I went ahead and had him do the install. He was super professional and efficient, and didn't mind my dog running around to meet him! He did the job, tested it, and cleaned up every little scrap that was left, under my sink. He even offered to show me how to unjam the disposal, but I already knew how. I would definitely recommend Angelo to anyone who needs a professional and efficient plumber! Thanks so much for replacing my unit, much appreciated!

Angelo and Fred were amazing! We had a backup in our shower drain and several other plumbers were unable to fix it. In come Angelo and Fred who were very knowledgable and experienced and were able to fix the issue. Their insight was fantastic! I recently used Discount Plumbing and Rotor for a faulty water heater. I had lived here (in Burlingame) before and moved away, but recently moved back. I used Discount Plumbing when I lived here before. Everyone here is so professional and, frankly, so nice! In addition to the original problem, Fred found that there was also a gas leak!!! Both Fred and Mikey described the problem clearly, and Fred showed me exactly where the leak was, by squirting a solution onto the water heater and you could see bubbles where the leak was. They were also both very friendly to my dog! Problem fixed, guaranteed, and happy customer here. Plumbing problems can be stressful, but this was not!

Sunday, Sept 3rd 2017. Upon returning from church I discovered a high piercing noise in the house it was coming from the Hot Water Heater. I googled the info to find out why the heater would make this sound. I found out it was water build up in the HWH . I searched goggle Discount Plumbing appeared on my phone. I was offered a same day appointment now this is Labor Day weekend. Joseph, came out and after researching at least about an hour he discovered the problem and fixed the problem and what's truly a blessing I do not have to replace the heater as well. Truly, a great experience. I would truly recommend this company. A company that delivers what they promise! Being a single woman, there are times I wonder whether a repairman will try to overcharge me because I am a woman. Thankfully Discount Plumbing isn't one of them. After having a major plumbing job done last fall by Discount, and totally unrelated, my garbage disposal broke the other night. I called Discount the next day and had their repairman Joseph, who arrived less than a hour later, take a look at the problem. As promised, he replaced my broken disposal at the both the quoted price and in the quoted time so I could make the movie I had tickets for! If you need any plumbing done, I highly recommend this business!

Efrain was amazing! He quickly diagnosed our problem. It took forever to get hot water out of our master bath shower head. He replaced a cartridge and reversed the hot and cold as it was labelled and now everything works perfectly! If you're like me, you feel somewhat insecure knowing that certain things are beyond your abilities and you simply have to rely on experts to fix your problems and not take advantage of you. Car repairs. Electrical work. Plumbing. Once I pour a bottle of Drano down a sink, I'm out of ideas. Our kitchen sink backed up this week and none of my Drano skills could fix the problem. Discount Plumbing set us up with a service call in very short time and Efraim really took care of us. Besides finding the source of the clog and snaking it clean, he inspected our kitchen pipes and discovered a small crack in our trap that would have been a bigger issue down the road. All the time, he described what was wrong and drew me pictures so I could understand what he did to fix the problem. (Not sure that will impact my Drano skills but I feel smarter). At the end of the day, my problem was fixed, the price was great, and he didn't try to sell me on a bunch of other unnecessary services. Highly recommended.

Discount plumbing is everything I want in a plumber. They are professional in every way and very competitive in their pricing. From the beginning they stood out by being very prompt in replying to my request for a quote. They were flexible over the phone with the day I needed for an appointment. Angelo was also prompt and arrived exactly when he said he would with a phone call 20 minutes before he arrived. He explained clearly the whole process involved with switching out an anode rod and maintaining a water heater. I felt very comfortable with accepting his very reasonable quote. When Angelo came back the next week for the job he again was professional and prompt and informative and patient. He walked me through every step of the process. I'm sure I was annoying and in his way but he never was short or rude. professional all the way. I would not hesitate to call Angelo and Discount Plumbing again for all my plumbing needs.

Called when they were on the way. Arrived on time. Thought the price was a bit high at $275 for a drain clean out. There are roots in the laundry line (the main is still clear). The snake was no bigger than the one I used, just more industrial and longer. Thought a larger snake would be used. Plumber said larger snake was for 3-4 inch pipes. Guess I am not a plumber. He ended up using a larger snake. What can I say? I know my house. Basically good service, shows up on time and does the job.
