My Joyce explains what needs doing and offers fair pricing. I found Joyce Plumbing on Yelp after my parents' neighborhood plumbing company changed hands and the new owners were charging crazy amounts to not fix things. I know from his first visit and from talking about upcoming jobs that I can trust him to do things right and use good judgement about when to repair and when to replace.

Charlie did an outstanding job, on time and on budget, they did exactly as promised, thank you Go Plumbing! Quality work, and great attitude!

To start, I did not use their service.  The reason was that they quoted $800 for a job that should have been no more than $350.  I needed a new pressure reducing valve.  I asked Cody, their plumber, what their hourly fee was.  He said they didn't have one, but that the cost was high because of the price of gas and their insurance.  Hmmm, that's called normal business expense.
I ended up buying the valve at Home Depot for $172 (inc tax) and it took me about an hour to do the job.   That means they were asking for at least $628 per hour (I'm sure they can get the valve wholesale and they probably could have installed it quicker than I did).
If they weren't so greedy, I was willing to spend $350, which would have pocketed them at least $178 per hour.  Guess that's not enough for them.

Highly recommend Watersedge Landscape! I called Alfredo on his personal cell number to request our annual back flow test. The next day I was checking my email and they had ALREADY come out and completed the job!!!

Sergio has been helping us for 2 years with various projects on our Pt. Loma home that was built in 1938. He replaced our old bathroom window with a nice vinyl one & did a great job re-stuccoing. He installed new shower fixtures for us also... He installed a new security screen door and also had to re-stucco around it, looks great! We needed a dryer vent installed, that was no problem either.
We plan on building a deck soon, and want to change out the base boards throughout the house...Pelayo the Handyman is who we will call!

I had Bob come over to unclog a couple of drains. He did it very fast and he is very nice. I do have to say that it was a little strange that he brought his wife along. But, she helps him save time so it saves me money. I would recommend him.

The founder Paul was incredibly thorough and did CFM tests before making any recommendations, something no other contractor did during the complimentary estimate inspection. The team gave me multiple options and we got an amazingly quiet Bosch heat pump installed!

This company is true to its name. They saved me a ton of time and headache! If I ever have future issues, I won't hesitate to call them.

10:44 AM:  Ely the owner texted. I think he actually tried to call a couple of times, but I missed it.

Ely obviously cares about what happens and had I not been able to find someone else to come out to fix the problem, his calm demeanor and desire to help would have been something that persuaded me to give them another chance.  

Maybe the I'm not supposed to be working today guy was already checked out mentally because... heck, he wasn't supposed to be working today.

Either way, I'd say if you decide to use Castillo and you experience something like I did, then get Ely on the phone.  Based on his texts, I think he would do whatever he can to get you taken care of.

What a terrible experience.  

I RELY on Yelp a lot for recommendations from my fellow San Diegans and with perfect 5 star reviews, you'd think you found the winner, right?

Nope.

We scheduled with this company on Thursday to come out on Saturday.  On Friday I called to confirm and ask about pricing, as my 21 year old son actually called to set the appointment.  

They gave me pricing, I was happy with their quote.  Everything so far was going great.

About an hour after my confirmation call, they called my son and changed the time in which they could come, from 12-4, to 10:00 am.

Okay, not a big deal.

At 9:49 the doorbell rang.  Caleb opened the door.  The first thing the man said to my son was, I'm not supposed to be working today.

He had Caleb turn the water in the shower.  Looked into the hole in our ceiling, which had been cut out previously when I had noticed a circular water stain had appeared.

Came upstairs, turned the water from the shower spout to the bathtub only, stayed in there for about 1 minute, went back downstairs and told Caleb that he thinks it's something behind something, told him again he's not supposed to be working and asked how Monday would work, then left.

WTH?

I have a hole in my downstairs ceiling that is leaking when the shower is being used upstairs.  We made an appointment to get it fixed.  I didn't make an appointment to have someone come to our house, tell us he's not supposed to be working, TWICE, then leave all within 5 minutes.

I know it was 5 minutes because I called Castillo's phone at 9:56 am to ask WTH.  

I'd say use them at your own risk, could be that you are relying on them to fix something, you get up early on your day off, to be told that they aren't supposed to be working and leave you hanging.

Fortunately I was able to call another company. They'll be here in an hour to FIX the problem.

Bob did an AWESOME job! He lives in the University Heights area so when my boyfriend and I had a pipe emergency he was there in 20 minutes! Very friendly, super fast, good price. Thanks again, Bob!

Our dryer broke down recently, and Marco from SBG reached out to us when we were looking up quotes for repair.
Marco was very straightforward and knowledgeable, and was the only provider we got a quote from that gave his thoughts on what the issue might be upfront, as well as a full cost estimate (rather than just a visitation/diagnostic fee).
Scheduling an appointment was quick and painless, and Marco fixed several issues our dryer had and got it working perfectly again within 1-1.5 hours.
When it came time to discuss payment, it was well within the initial range he provided - no upsells, unexpected charges/fees, or gimmicks.

I called Plein Plumbing after another local plumber no-showed.  Steve was able to come to my place the same day I made the call.  The pricing was very reasonable, and he did a great job fixing the problems.  I will definitely call him next time I need a plumber

I had to replace 2 sets of faucets for a home that I was selling and these guys were able to fit me in right away.  Other plumbers were not accommodating at all. They showed up on time and did a great job.  The faucets were installed a long time ago and need some extra elbow grease to remove.  Everything looks great now and I would definitely use their services again should the need arise.

We had a toilet at a rental property that was clogged and in bad shape. We needed same day help since we were trying to clean the place and needed access to facilities. Bob came out about an hour after we called, fitting us into his busy schedule for the day.

He fixed the clog and made recommendations for some things he saw in the bathroom that also needed to be addressed.

Wow, did I get lucky C&C answered my call. On DAY ONE of the coronavirus lockdown, I had a pipe burst in my house downstairs. Ruined all my wood floors, I had to leave the house for an entire month during a time when we were supposed to stay at home. I put out bids to C&C, and Nick was the first to respond. He and Irish did a fabulous job on stopping the leak, and on helping get out the water restoration company. They took care of everything, literally. And their repair work, once everything was ready, was done at a price so reasonable that our contractor was shocked. I would call C&C for any plumbing work, anytime. I could not recommend them higher.

Not only quick and efficient junk removal, but friendly and trustworthy people. The kind of people who you know will do a good job. Thanks y'all, definitely have a new customer!

My water heater was busted after 6 years of service, so I decided to call Anderson Plumbing to fix it. I never used them before, but it sounded like an honest family business; and oh boy; I was so wrong. They are worse than the worst. Here's what happened.

The plumber came almost at the end of the time window they promised; He looked at the water heater and said it's leaking; I said, well I know the T&P valve is leaking; can you just replace it (I already checked and the value cost about $10) he said no we need to replace the whole heater, there is a damage inside the water heater. It sounded excessive to me, but I agreed and asked for a quote; he pulled out his book and gave me a quote of $1641 for a 6 year 40 gallon water heater installed.

I got the written quote and said I'll think about it.

I went to Lowe's, found a $400 water heater with 6y warranty, 40 gallon with similar features to the one in the quote. I asked for installation services from lowe's and got one for $269 installation, including delivery and haul away, and $160 inspection fees. So basically it would cost me $829 to replace my heater, and Anderson Plumbing wanted to charge me $1641. When someone overcharges 100% it's a ROBBERY.

I ended up getting a 50 gallon gas water heater with 12y warranty and electronic ignition (bye bye pilot) and still saved over $600.

The funny part is when I saw the outrageous quote I was standing next to Anderson Plumbing's  truck and looked at the big picture of the founder/owner with big fake smile on her face  with both hands filled with big gold rings and big diamonds. I laughed so hard inside me; that picture is a perfect representation of Anderson Plumbing Heating and AC. ( MO MO MO MONEY) who's in her right mind put a photo with rings with huge rocks on a commercial truck; it's like saying look at me I love getting your money. it reminds me of Mom Character in TV serious Futurama so hilarious!!!

avoid them at any cost; you'll be robbed by overcharging you, and at best, as other reviewers mentioned, they'll do a crappy job and will have to visit you multiple times to fix it.

I selected this company because of the good reviews on Google and I'm glad I picked it. Kristina Anthony came within 30 min and unplugged our restroom within 10 min. She was a kind, respectful, and clean professional. She gave us tips to avoid future problems.
