After taking a 2 hour adult education class on solar I learned a lot and decided we should get solar for our home. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), there are an estimated 306 solar companies that service Arizona. I searched for companies with over four star reviews and an A+ rating. For accountability I wanted to purchase from a company that not only sold solar but also installed solar with their own employees. I determined that I would only accept the top two solar panels and the top two solar inverters. I narrowed the field and reached out to four companies that met all the criteria. In November and December we met with representatives from four solar companies. I was advised that from the time a contract was signed until the solar installation was approved by the city inspector and approved and activated by APS was typically about 3 months. We decided we did not want to lease a system and ultimately decided to pay cash.(There are, however, good options to take a loan to pay for solar).
The last of four company representatives that we met with was Matt Nam with Sun Services and he convinced us to contract with Sun Services for our home solar installation.
Our solar system went live without a glitch on March 31. In the past 3 months if I had a question or concern I would text or email Sun Services Project Management team led by Senior Project Manager Alonda Dimas. I always received an immediate response.
So check the boxes on Sun Services:
· Strong 4 star plus reviews and A+ BBB rank.
· They represent top solar and inverter companies.
· They install with their own employees not a subcontracted installer.
· Their project management team is responsive and anxious to provide excellent customer service.
· The pricing is very competitive.

As an engineer accustomed to details, their sales and engineering team have been quick to answer my questions. We were approached by other companies, and Sunny Energy were the first to pride themselves with the BBB satisfaction rating of 4.84/5. I'm glad they came to my door and insisted to talk to me when I had three other appointments. They have walked us through every step of the process from installation to inspection to APS installing their meter to finally turning on our system. We highly recommend Sunny Energy!

Just had a very large system installed on my home. Extremely happy with every element of my experience with Aneva. A little background first.
I have some exposure to the solar industry from my day job in a related electrical firm. There are basically two types of companies you'll run into: sales companies that sell your contract or use subcontractors to install, and locally owned business like Avena that have their own crews and stand behind their work. Only use the latter. Never lease, always purchase. There is great financing out there, so either pay in cash or use the solar finance firms. You can't lose either way.
I took three bids. All we locally owned companies with their own installation and service people. Avena was competitive, all the prices were in the same ballpark. Difference with Avena was first the sales engineer that worked with me, Mark. No hard sell or smoke and mirrors. He sent an itemized quote so I knew exactly what I was buying, easy to understand. Next Avena only only offered quality equipment, no Chinese commodity panels or components. I think this is extremely important as these systems should last twenty years or more. I chose Mark's recommendation, LG. That's the same company that makes the TVs and appliances, someone that will stand behind their warranty. In fact all components come with a 20 year warranty.
After I placed the order I was introduced to Buddy the PM and Ed that ran the project at my home. All the guys were awesome. During the project I asked for a few changes, no problem. They made the changes, no push back. The owner Anthony even came out several time to ensure I was happy with the project.
My system went active today and my meter is running backwards! Because I went with financing I will be cash positive in year one, this is a no brainer.
Do note that installing solar on your home is a large project. I needed HOA, APS and city approval. It does take several months after placing the order for the system to become active. You need an experienced, quality provider for this to come out well.
Thanks guys!

Extremely impressed with Dustin who installed my first set of lights in a windowless room. After seeing the difference they made, I called back and had 2 more installed and Devyn was just as professional. The photo in the room is only showing the light from 2-14" tubes. It was DARK - Zero Natural light! I highly recommend Arizona Home Daylight!

We chose Black Platinum Solar & Electric after getting quotes from a few companies. They also came highly recommended by a friend. Our friend's recommendation mirrored what you see in many Yelp reviews and our experience matched up. They're a smaller company so everything was very personal, friendly, and competent. From the beginning, David was low key, low pressure, and helpful. He spent over an hour answering all of my questions and explaining the ins and out of solar. Throughout, he was bending over backwards to not push or pressure for time in any way, which was different than other firms that used expiring credits and changing utility rate structures to subtly pressure to move quickly. He also never tried to sell any kind of financing package where the installer can make extra fees from the lender.
Once we decided to move forward, all of the contracts and approvals were electronic, which I appreciated -- it made things very easy. They communicated how things would work, what they do vs what I do, and how long it would take. The only things I had to do was submit to my HOA for approval and do some touch up paint in the garage where they wired in a panel. Black Platinum did everything else with the City and APS. The panel install took 2 days as planned. During the following week, a new breaker box was installed and inspections were performed. They arrived about 20 min early each day of the installation, and the whole crew was extremely friendly and professional. They kept everything clean and once finished, you couldn't tell they had been here. John Black came out at the beginning of the first day to introduce himself and the crew and collect an installment. He really knows his stuff and was more then willing to explain anything I wanted to know. He was an email away throughout the whole process, including once we were up and running and just getting into the app to see solar production stats.
I think I got a bit lucky with the time of year and with the length of time inspectors and APS can take, but I was up a running 1 month after signing the contracts. Really impressive!
Overall I'd sum up that trust is important when installing solar because it's a big project on your home. You don't really know the people doing the work and you have to take a bit of a leap that they are trustworthy and know what they're doing. John, David and the rest of the Black Platinum crew lived up to what you see in Yelp reviews. The job was done with extreme competence and they're the nicest people you'll meet.

We had one year anniversary recently & I'd like to list our review of Rooftop Solar.
We live in Buckeye near Surprise in over 55 senior community of Sun City Festival. I know there are lots of solar energy companies but we're glad we chose Rooftop Solar. Our sales rep, Michelle was very knowledgeable & never pushy, project manager, Vanessa was helpful. They took care of minor issues after installation when the builder's one year inspection was done. Great customer service & we highly recommend them for solar energy needs.
We're saving lots of money for energy bill & really happy with our decision.

I live in Hawaii and reached out to Mr. Sunshine 4000 miles away to review two very large solar project for one of my client's. Michael immediately addressed my concerns, provided me the same day a complete detailed breakdown of each project.
Michael's kind heart, support without judgement, compassion for others is paramount, not to mention Michael took the time to go step by step with me, answering additional questions I continued to send to him. Michael worked with me until I had a complete understanding of each and every step to a solar system with associated cost breakdowns of which I did not have and were unable to obtain on the Island's.
I am beyond grateful, I took the time to contact Mr. Sunshine. When my client's begin to consider solar projects moving forward, I will always be sure to request an overview by Michael regardless that I am 4000 miles away.

I had a solar water heater installed by a different company 2 years ago. I was not happy with their customer service. Of course they were great when selling you the product then not so much when you have issues. Anyways I called the Sun-Earth company and they referred me to General Solar. I called and they came out the next day, diagnosed my problem in about 90 seconds, had the correct part on the truck and replaced it in about 25 minutes. Problem solved and now i have a good resource should problems arise in the future. I would highly recommend them.

Have worked with these guys to get solar for my home. Very professional and very knowledgeable. They also gave me a lower price than the other company that came and showed me what they had. They gave me a low 2.99 interest rate on my solar. I will recommend them to any and all my friends and family.

I recently went under contract to purchase a home which featured a solar system. This was my first exposure to solar, so based on a positive reputation I hired Harmon Solar to inspect the solar equipment prior to close. The technician was thorough and after inspecting he took time to explain to me everything I should know about the system. As a result I feel much more educated about solar and would certainly go back to Harmon if I ever have a future solar need.

I had some electrical issues and they came at the appointed time and repaired my issues efficiently. The tech was courteous and knowledgeable.
I would not hesitate to recommend AZ Energy pros. Several friends that I referred them to were also satisfied with the service.
I don't do reviews very often only when I especially impressed with a business.

Matt did an electric car charger disconnection for us and was superb. He arrived promptly, was courteous and professional, had a great attitude, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. His standard service charge is absolutely worth it, and if we were staying in the area, I would absolutely use him again. Highly recommended.

We compared a couple of companies and felt we were getting a better deal overall from AZ. Solar Solutions. They worked tirelessly to install our system and when a problem arose, they were here to fix it quickly.
We have been producing nearly 100% of our energy since April when we became fully operational. Even on the few cloudy days we have in Arizona, we're generating energy. So happy to have final made the decision to 'go green'.

Hard to reach, may would have done something different, knowing customer service was going to be this lousy. After they get their money they are done with you. And they don't call you back after 48hrs. I'm just frustrated with this company.
At this point I would definitely not recommend.

I signed up with solar city. They kinda gave my a not so great deal BUT they monitored my system for problems. Tesla bought them and their service is horrible. I had a problem last July and again this year. I had to monitor it. Took them forever to remedy. I want out but I have a lease that goes up faster than APS. It's taken 4 weeks to get them to come to my home and I had a scheduled meeting a month ago for today. I called I emailed that I wouldn't be home but could have the garage access to reset replace fix my inverter
