Yelp and other similar sites have always been our primary source when selecting home service firms, as we appreciate the feedback/reviews and have rarely been disappointed - our recent experience with W.A. Wagner & Sons was no exception. The company responded promptly to our call and was very courteous. The licensed professional (Chris, with over 30 years of experience) arrived on time and took great care to examine all possible sources of the primary problem and even fixed a few minor issues during his visit. Our recent experience with W.A. Wagner & Sons was our introduction to the company and we were pleased to find the level of quality service, reasonable price and prompt response which has characterized its positive reviews from other customers. It's not hard to understand why the multi-generational firm, which has been in business for over 100 years, consistently earns top ratings (for price/service) from Checkbook Magazine and many other independent sites. It is without hesitation we recommend W.A. Wagner & Sons to others and happily add our own positive feedback (on both price and quality) to the already published outstanding reviews!

Steve is a great guy - personable, funny, professional. He follows up in a timely manner, and stands behind his work. I've been through a lot of plumbers, and Steve is definitely the best!

James just replaced three toilets for me. He arrived ahead of scheduled time and is an experienced handy man. The job was done well and toilets work great.

Dan was very professional and price was reasonably fair. I would recommend him as a trustworthy and skilled plumber.

Best plumber in the city! He is the business of fixing things and helping others and not just making money like many contractors in the District. He is a no nonsense kind of guy on the phone and super busy but when he comes to work he will treat your house like it is his own and get the job done right.

I've had plumbers from Carson Plumbing to my house on three separate occasions for plumbing issues: two water supply issues and one water heater replacement. Each time Carson sent competent plumbers who fixed my problem quickly and correctly for a reasonable price. Prompt, skilled, courteous... I can't say enough good things about them and highly recommend their services.

Jose came out to fix the issue within 3 hours of me submitting a Yelp quote request. He was friendly, honest, took off his shoes before entering my home. I was nervous but trusted the reviews on here. My problem was simple, but it's been bugging me for 2 years! He gave me a very fair price, he fixed the leak under my sink and repaired my drain and garbage disposal in an hour. Thank you!! I will be a return customer.

I needed to have my lawn sprinkler system backflow preventer tested per dcwater.com/compliance. It requires a master plumber to have special training to perform the service and enter data into the DCWater.com system. Most local plumbers don't have the DCWater.com certification and those that do can be extremely expensive for this annual service. DCWater.com has a list of certified plumbers here: dcwater.com/backflow-ins…. After many phones calls and emails, I found licensed master plumber, Daryl Lomax, dhlomaxplumbing86@gmail.…, 240-299-4224. Daryl was extremely responsive and offered to perform the service at a very competitive price and complete the work within the time frame I needed. Daryl was very professional. He both emailed and called me to confirm the time and keep me updated. He arrived ahead of time. He performed the work and closed out the submission on the DCWater.com official website before leaving the job site. He waited to confirm that DCWater.com had accepted the data before leaving. I was very impressed with his responsiveness and professionalism. I will choose him again next year for this annual service. I highly recommend DH Lomax Plumbing Services.

OUTSTANDING! For background, I live in a two level condo on the lower level. For months I had a rancid smell coming through the ductwork. After having the ducts cleaned and scoped, nothing was found.
The Condo Association brought in Kiddco Plumbing and Terry (the manager) called in the troops: Cory, Eli and Filly. Cory announced they would not be leaving until the problem was resolved which greatly relieved my mind. Within a short time they found the issue: the drain pipe from upper unit broke at the elbow below the concrete, 20 inches into the dirt. The pipe ran into the Living Room and scoping determined the drain pipe was also bowed thus prevent the drain from properly flowing. This involved tearing up the concrete floor in my dining room/living room. It was a horrible, nasty, dirty job, but they closed off the entire area with plastic. The dirt/concrete was all contained within this area and the dust was kept to a minimum.
Customer service was top-notch, and they did a great job keeping me informed throughout the process. They are competent, reliable, and do quality work. They were extremely knowledgeable, courteous and very professional.
Fantastic people and fantastic job!

I called Plump Right Plumbing later in the day, i thought they wouldn't come over until the next day. Brent came by immediately and stayed until the job was complete.
Since I'm giving up DIY plumbing Plumb Right will be my first call.

Our main waste line was plugged and we needed it cleared as soon as possible. We have a home warranty company which couldn't find a service provider in its network that could come that day. We contacted Arlington Plumbing and Limbert responded immediately. When he arrived, he assessed the situation and provided an estimate. We noted that we our home warranty company required that the service provider we used to contact them prior to the work being done so we could be reimbursed for the cost under their emergency policies. Although that step is annoying, Limbert was kind enough to do so. He obtained the approval and then cleared our waste line. I can't recommend him enough - he's responsive, honest, and effecient.

We have used Plumbtastic 3 times in the past 2 years and I always forgot to do a review on Yelp, which is where we found them. They have excellent customer service, are thorough, professional and know what they are talking about. Prices were very good compared to other companies and the work quality was excellent. We would recommend them to anyone.

I have used Duvall's now at 2 different homes. As a female, I love that I can trust knowing they are telling me an honest review of what is going on with my HVAC and a good price. Most recently, I had 5 different companies come out to review my Heat Pump, every single company told me completely different stories of what I needed, what was wrong, how much freon I needed to replacing the entire unit. I knew I should have just initially called Duvall. They came out right away, told me exactly what was going on, replaced the parts at a great price.

Jiffy Plumbing is the worse plumbing company I have ever used. I have a rental property in NE DC and they have disappointed me throughout the whole project. I tried to get out of working with them from the beginning but the mastermind Bill Redfern said I couldn't. They recently sent someone to fix my bathtub fixtures and instead broke them. They have spilled things and have damaged my new floors. Furthermore, they never come when they say they will and have delayed my project. I bought brand new washers and the water wasn't coming out and Bill said it was because of the sensors on the washing machine that water wasn't coming out. My impression is they have a lot of unskilled workers that they pick up from the streets that appear impaired. My advice is to go to Ben Franklin Plumbing for your needs and avoid Jiffy for big projects.

I was dispatched to LiveGreen by my warranty company. I would give 2 stars to this company because the overall experience was not very good. However, I would like to give positive 5 stars to their technicians LOYD and MIKE. They are very considerate and professional.
My hot water heater leaked on March 31. I immediately called my home warranty on that day and they dispatched LiveGreen. A few days later, a technician came to see and concluded that I needed a new water heater. About two weeks later, they came to replace water heater, scratching my wood floor and dry wall. However, the new water heater only worked one day. On April 20, they sent over the same technician who replace my water heater to check the issue and he told me that I needed a new gas control valve. I waited 3 weeks for the part to come in, during which I called them literally everyday to check the updates. My wife was pregnant for over 30 weeks and I would like to have the water heater fixed asap. I asked the company if they could expedite the process, they said they need to check and would call me back, but I never received their call. Finally, on May 11th, they sent over two new technicians Loyd and Mike to replace control valve, only to find out that the previous control valve was not the issue but the burner was not working. So my pregnant wife and I waited three weeks just for a wrong part! This is ridiculous. The previous technician who replaced my water heater diagnosed it wrong! During the three weeks, my wife and I have to boil water to shower, wash dishes, and everything. Loyd and Mike are very professional and considerate, they offered to come to replace the burner over weekend and at latest on Monday (May 14th) if they could receive a new part, and they would expedite the process. On Monday, I called the company again and they did receive the new part, except all technicians were booked up, so I have to wait until Tuesday (May 15th). Finally, Loyd and Mike came on Tuesday to replace the burner within 20 minutes and the water heater has been working since yesterday. Fingers crossed that it would not stop working!!
To sum up, my wife and I had not used hot water for one and half months, three weeks of which was wasted for waiting for a wrong part. But thumbs up for Loyd and Mike. My warranty company is 2-10, they claimed they ordered a brand new water heater, but it only worked for one day and then the burner was broken. Not sure if it is normal to a new water heater.
If you have a choice, try to avoid LiveGreen. If not, try to have Loyd and Mike!

Buyer beware
Had Best Choice Plumbers come to house to give estimate to replace 8 spread faucet in bathroom that I bought. Their technician Tom looked at job for two minutes then went to his truck to write up estimate. Estimate provided for labor is $494 less $50 discount for $444. What a ripoff, this is why they have $79 fee to come to quote job.

UNLICENSED PLUMBER! I paid this guy $1300 in total and my plumbing was worse after he worked on it. Every time I take a shower or wash my dishes, I regret letting this guy into my home.
I paid him to ix my shower and sink, and he did half of the job and then left the country for a month. I paid by check, so my money was long gone by the time i realized that he wasn't coming back. I finally got in touch with him a month later, and he still couldn't correct his mistakes. I have to shower under a trickle of water. My children can't take a batch in a tub full of warm water---after I paid him $1300 for shotty work!
Stay away from this guy and this company. you will live to regret if you don't.
