Used plumbtastic for many years but will not anymore. I called them to come out to look at and fix the pipes under my double sink in the kitchen and replace the garbage disposal. When they finished I asked if I could now use my dishwasher again and was told I should be able to. 3 days later after using my dishwasher twice I noticed that there was water coming from underneath the floor tiles and the tiles were coming up. Plumbtastic came out the next day (the other brother) and told me that the dishwasher wasn't connected - one connection and they never checked it. They claimed it wasn't there fault to check when I hired and paid them to fix the pipe connections under my sink - and they didn't take 2 mins to unscrew the bottom door of the dishwasher to check the connection even after I asked if I could now use my dishwasher as I hadn't used it in 6 years because of my concern w the pipes. Ruined floor that cost me $2500 to replace the floor tile and water damage. I doubt that these guys are insured and that is probably the main lesson I learned here and to not ever use them again. I used to recommend them to everyone and they just acted like it wasn't there problem. Not professional. Oh, but they did tell me they had a floor guy who could redo my floor. Yah, no thank you.

We had a pipe burst on Christmas Eve so I called Kirby and he was able to came out on Christmas morning!

He was compassionate, efficient, and as always he was remarkably skilled. He identified the exact issue; the water is back on and and this can now be dealt with during routine business hours. And all the while...he was wearing a Santa hat!

This group is truly amazing.

In response to Kirby, I contacted your company in September of 2021, not 2022. I wrote my review last year but failed to post it at that time. I recently noticed that hadn't posted the review for your company so I did so in in August 2022. I didn't randomly select your company for a bad review. In my original review, I even complimented the person that came out for the original analysis but then you guys ghosted me and I never heard from you again. Based on the reviews, I suspect your work is very good but there was a lack of follow up. Hope that explains the date discrepancy for you.

Needed a plumber and finally had a reason to see if Plumbtastic was as honest and trustworthy as I had thought after our first interaction. Verdict: YES, THEY ARE. Kirby and Brent are just genuinely good guys who will absolutely do the best they can for you and your home. Honestly, I felt as taken care of as if I had family working on my house.

They did great work at the most reasonable cost. Even beyond that, though, they made sure to always tell me what was going on, warn me when it might be best to have my kids out of the house because of loud noises or dust, and work non-stop to fix my issue. When my furnace needed to be moved for the repair (my 70 year old house's original pipes collapsed completely under our concrete slab), they even called around to find an HVAC guy for me, and their guy was 1/3 of any of the HVAC estimates I got on my own from the well-known companies! They made sure the timeline worked out so my family didn't have to go without heat during a cold day and that level of consideration was just wonderful.

I'll never use a different plumber, and you shouldn't, either!

Brent did a great job installing an outdoor faucet (spigot). He arrived when he said he would, and the price was reasonable. The only problem was that Proconnect charged an extra $4.95 for their Proconnect platform fee, which they said (when I called to ask what it was) was for a 30-day warranty and that Plumbtastic's 1-year warranty started after that. Don't know about you, but I hate it when companies surprise me with fees that are not explained. Anyway, I would hire Plumbtastic again, but without going through Proconnect!

Called and set up an appointment for earlier this month. They said they'd be out during an agreed appointment window so I stayed home from work to be able to meet them. Company never showed. I called and texted both numbers for the guys and they didn't even bother to respond and explain why they bailed. Never heard from them again. Totally unprofessional. Don't waste your time with these guys.

Very responsive. Called around midnight and was able to the option of coming on the spot (slightly more expensive) or the day after. We chose the latter. They were able to solve the problem in 40 minutes. In comparison, plumbers from a chain who I shall not name not only were unable to find the clean out but quoted me three times the price.

Price was reasonable, but I sought them out more for the type of job that yelp says they do. I didn't know it was black owned, but that was a bonus! ..two brothers that are actually brothers!

We had a ceiling water leak happen on a Saturday night. They came by first thing on Sunday morning, figured out the cause of the problem (that a different plumber had missed), fixed it, and even did a good job of cleaning up the mess. I will definitely hire them again.

These guys are amazing and accommodating. Initially my husband called them on a Friday, and we were able to Schedule an appointment for midday Wednesday. Unfortunately, I had received a nasty dog bite and was in the hospital and completely forgot about the appointment until I saw they left me a voicemail. I called them back and explained what had happened. They were completely compassionate and understanding of my situation and rescheduled for Friday afternoon.

Two gentleman arrived, and they arrived on time, if not a few minutes early. I explained how we bought a bank owned home and we wanted to check out our appliances. I wanted to double check the connection of our dishwasher and our washer and dryer. And it's a good thing I did. Even though our dish washer was ok, none of the wiring or hoses were hooked up for our washer and dryer. That would be a second round of water damage in our house I couldn't handle.

All in all, I would definitely hire them again.

Update -- 3/6/18

We called this place again on Monday for a leak from under our kitchen sink. They told me they could be at our home the next day (today). Brent arrived on time, was courteous enough to take his shoes off even though it wasn't necessary and fixed the issue within minutes.

They were great! I had a difficult problem with my shower and they persisted until it was solved the best and most ingenious way possible. They explained everything that was going on really clearly and made all efforts to cause the least disruptions to the house. I really appreciate their work and efforts and especially being able to use my shower again!
Will certainly be calling them back to fix plumbing issues that come up in the house.

I am a Property Manager of many DC apartment buildings, and often rely on Plumbtastic to save the day!

Brent and his crew are SO trustworthy, reliable, and my residents have always sung praises of their kindness and expertise.

They are responsive, perform excellent work and charge fairly!

First time I called Plumbtastic was for a failed ejector pump, after having been stood up by 4 plumbers. I called in the evening, and they came out the next afternoon. They were a life saver that day, and many days after that.

Kirby and Brent are beyond awesome. (I can't believe it's taken me so long to write this review; I'm such an ungrateful wench.)

Let me start with our formerly fugly powder room. I wish I'd taken some pictures, but suffice it to say that the theme was bamboo and clamshell (think Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii). When it was finally time for the renovation, we were so excited that we ordered the Geberit wall-mounted toilet, with a concealed tank, stainless steel flush plate, and dual-flush system, without consulting a single plumber. Little did we know that this wouldn't be a standard Lowe's-Home-Depot job.

The first plumber demurred, admitting that he, like many in his trade, was not familiar with this type of toilet. The second one gave us an estimate that we honestly thought was a joke. Enter Plumbtastic. Kirby and Brent were straightforward with us from the beginning, acknowledging that they'd never done this type of an install before and promising to do their best if given the opportunity. And their best was spectacular. They handled challenges (and our 105-year-old house is full of challenges) with skill and grace, finished the job as quickly as one could expect under the circumstances, and charged a very reasonable price for all their hard work.

They've done other, smaller jobs for us over the last few years, and we've recommended them to many friends. Their work is always superb, they're consistently prompt, and you couldn't find two nicer guys. Kirby actually declined payment the last time he fixed something because, he said, it only took a minute. What?!? Once I came to, I put a check in the mail to at least compensate him for his time.

Here's to hoping that the Year of the Sheep is free of plumbing troubles, but if it isn't, you know who to call.

I had such a good experience with these guys (Kirby and Brent) the last time they came out to fix my toilet stop valve, so I decided to call them again. This time, it was on Veterans Day so i was lucky that they were available. As usual, when I called, I asked for a price to replace a wax ring which is the ring underneath the toilet to keep the toilet water from overflowing. I heard from my neighbor below that they thought my wax ring was damaged and causing water damage to their unit.

When I called, they actually remembered me and said they would come out between 11-12pm. There are several things that want me to praise, which I'll get to in a minute, but for one, they only provide a one-hour window, while other places make you wait all day and they are always on time, so you won't have to waste your whole day waiting for them.

But on a more important note, they are honest guys who aren't trying to make a quick buck. Also, they are really pleasant and even take the time to wear booties in your house so not to dirty your carpet or wood floors. Super, over-the-top politeness.

Anyway, when they pulled up my toilet to access the wax ring, they noticed nothing wrong. Then they said that they wouldn't charge me for coming over!! I couldn't believe it. They said they didn't feel right to charge me for that service when it didn't need replacing. That goes a long way for being honest.

I really couldn't believe the kindness and work of these guys, so I'm writing a 2nd review just to explain my experience. These will be my go-to plumbers from now on.

Thanks fellow yelpers for helping us find a plumber!

We called them in the morning and they were able to send out guys on the same day. They arrived at the time they indicated they would be here. The two technicians were very courteous and professional, and were mindful of our rules of no shoes in the house. They finished the job promptly and cleaned up the work area before they left. Shout out to one of the lead technicians, Kirby (not sure if I spelled his name correctly)! They also charged us exactly what they quoted beforehand on the phone.

I will call them again if we experience plumbing problems in the future. I would definitely recommend this business to my friends, colleagues, and family members!

Kirby and DJ found my problem in a matter of minutes - the wax toilet seal failed and had created havoc in the floor below. The guys were great. Took their shoes off as soon as they came into my house.

I had a tough kitchen sink clog, so tough that when the came out (2 hours after I called), the two snakes couldn't penetrate. They advised they had something more powerful, but not with them, and said I could call someone else to come out that day, or wait and they'd be out the following morning to try again. And, they made sure I was aware I wouldn't be charged that day because they couldn't clear it. Totally stand up guys. I decided to wait and have them come back the following morning, which they did and removed the clog as promised.
They were prompt, honest and fixed my issue with courtesy. I would highly recommend Plumbtastic! I am a very satisfied customer.

They are amazing. Kirby and his team are very honest, prompt and charge fairly for each job.
I had hired them in the past for an emergency food disposal leak, they came out very quickly and replaced the disposal same day. Did not over charge for late hours same day service. Today, we had a ceiling leak, initially kirby said they were swamped and could not help me but after hours of calling various companies and still not able to find anyone. Kirby squeezed me in today. Very happy customer and definitely will hire them again for other jobs.

I recently worked with Brent, Kirby & Osaro to purchase & install a new water heater and replace pvc pipes with copper in my water closet. The project was a bit more complex than a basic install because the system also connected to my Condo HVAC system. They were very helpful, organized and were cost conscious. From initial quote to final install, they were extremely professional in all aspects of their work-- I will be recommending them to my neighbors & anyone who may want a reliable, dependable professional plumber. Look forward to working with them again in the future.

It took only about 30 minutes for the plumber Kirby to find the leak, repair it and depart. I was amazed and pleased with the very reasonable price. Most other plumbers try to sell services one doesn't need. It was a very good experience and I'd recommend them without hesitation.

I asked if it could be done today since it was my day off and they agreed to come back later to fix it. They came back and less than an hour later I had my tub fixed! I cannot say enough about the Plumbtastic Plumbing team. They were very responsive and courteous, were able to schedule our non-emergency appointment within 3 days, and quickly and professionally handled what turned out to be a very minor issue (we're new homeowners and were perhaps too quick to call the professionals rather than try and fix the issue ourselves).

Oh, and the best part - they didn't charge for the service! Granted, it took less than 5 minutes, but I still expected to pay at least for the fact that they drove to Capitol Hill and put us on their Saturday schedule. But no, they politely declined and moved on to their next appointment. You can bet that they have customers for life now, though. If we ever have a plumbing issue my first and only call will be to Plumbtastic.

We used PP this week for multiple plumbing problems we had let build up until we finally had a leak with our circulating pump off our hot water heater.

They missed the original installation date waiting on the pump to arrive but didn't give us a lot of notice So my wife was very upset after spending a week without hot water in the summer time. They made up with it my fixing our sub-pump, bar kitchen sink, hot water pump, and a bonus was the upstairs shower that had never worked since we bought the house 6 years ago, all in under 2 hours. It wasn't too costly with all the work the two brothers plumbing team performed so by the end of he appointment my wife was so happy I even gave them a nice sized tip.

Excellent service and they didn't charge us for an upgrade circulating pump as our heater has to push water up 3 additional floors from the basement. It was a real pleasure working with them despite the extra days wait to fix and a joy to take a hot shower again!

I called like 5 plumbers with good ratings on yelp and no one responded except Plumbtastic. They came out and in less than 20 minutes had identified the burst pipe - awkwardly placed behind the kitchen sink - and replaced it all for only $250. A contractor I spoke to earlier who couldn't come out estimated it would cost $700 - $1,000!

While I had them there I asked Plumbtastic for an estimate on installing a shower (just the plumbing only) in a tiny space in my basement bathroom. Their estimate was less than one third another estimate I had received.

They are amazing. Kirby and his team are very honest, prompt and charge fairly for each job.
I had hired them in the past for an emergency food disposal leak, they came out very quickly and replaced the disposal same day. Did not over charge for late hours same day service. Today, we had a ceiling leak, initially kirby said they were swamped and could not help me but after hours of calling various companies and still not able to find anyone. Kirby squeezed me in today. Very happy customer and definitely will hire them again for other jobs.

I recently worked with Brent, Kirby & Osaro to purchase & install a new water heater and replace pvc pipes with copper in my water closet. The project was a bit more complex than a basic install because the system also connected to my Condo HVAC system. They were very helpful, organized and were cost conscious. Competent/reliable, reasonably priced, professional, responsible. We had a pipe leak in a ceiling above the kitchen and beneath a bathroom. I was imagining the worst. It took only about 30 minutes for the plumber Kirby to find the leak, repair it and depart. I was amazed and pleased with the very reasonable price. Very pleased! We had a leak with the drain in our tub. I called this morning and within two hours they came out to estimate and gave me a price. I asked if it could be done today since it was my day off and they agreed to come back later to fix it. They came back and less than an hour later I had my tub fixed! I cannot say enough about the Plumbtastic Plumbing team. They were very responsive and courteous, were able to schedule our non-emergency appointment within 3 days, and quickly and professionally handled what turned out to be a very minor issue (we're new homeowners and were perhaps too quick to call the professionals rather than try and fix the issue ourselves).

Oh, and the best part - they didn't charge for the service! Granted, it took less than 5 minutes, but I still expected to pay at least for the fact that they drove to Capitol Hill and put us on their Saturday schedule. But no, they politely declined and moved on to their next appointment. You can bet that they have customers for life now, though. If we ever have a plumbing issue my first and only call will be to Plumbtastic.

We used PP this week for multiple plumbing problems we had let build up until we finally had a leak with our circulating pump off our hot water heater.

They missed the original installation date waiting on the pump to arrive but didn't give us a lot of notice So my wife was very upset after spending a week without hot water in the summer time. They made up with it my fixing our sub-pump, bar kitchen sink, hot water pump, and a bonus was the upstairs shower that had never worked since we bought the house 6 years ago, all in under 2 hours. It wasn't too costly with all the work the two brothers plumbing team performed so by the end of he appointment my wife was so happy I even gave them a nice sized tip.

Excellent service and they didn't charge us for an upgrade circulating pump as our heater has to push water up 3 additional floors from the basement. It was a real pleasure working with them despite the extra days wait to fix and a joy to take a hot shower again!

During the recent cold spell, my pipes burst and I had water on three floors on my two-family vintage DC rowhouse. What a mess! I called like 5 plumbers with good ratings on yelp and no one responded except Plumbtastic. They came out and in less than 20 minutes had identified the burst pipe - awkwardly placed behind the kitchen sink - and replaced it all for only $250. A contractor I spoke to earlier who couldn't come out estimated it would cost $700 - $1,000!

While I had them there I asked Plumbtastic for an estimate on installing a shower (just the plumbing only) in a tiny space in my basement bathroom. Their estimate was less than one third another estimate I had received.

The team at Plumbtastic is amazing! The best experience I've ever had with a plumbing contractor.

Kirby and Osaro where so great. We had a pipe burst and I called Plumbtastic. Because of emergencies all over the city, Kirby couldn't get to our house immediately, but he helped me stop the flow of water using FaceTime! What plumber does that -- without receiving a penny.

Later that evening, Osaro came out and fixed the problem.

They were professional and courteous, finished the job quickly and efficiently, and when they thought that a part was broken, they stayed and figured out what was wrong with it and fixed it so I wouldn't have to.

These gentleman are excellent! To start I called them late Friday night because my sink was backing up and they called me at 8am Saturday to scheduled me in right away (They called me back before a corporate plumbing company, so big points for that). In addition, they charge a flat rate, don't try to up sell you, are extremely professional and courteous. All of the little things they did really added up to make it a pleasure to work with them. I don't expect people to take their shoes off at my house, but these guys did without being asked. They snaked my drain and explained the process/problem so I could understand. Finally, they are dog lovers! I have two big dogs who a lot of people get scared of and they had no problem letting them hang out in the kitchen with them. Overall, I will be recommending these guys to everyone!

Just got off the phone with him - one of my toilets had suddenly started making a strange noise (sounded internal) and he diagnosed it over the phone and his free tip (make sure the valve is open all the way behind the toilet to solve an air mixing issue) saved the day and saved me $! We had a visit from Plumbtastic recently. In our 1950s house, a blockage had formed in the basement main collector drain, right where it heads down into the foundation. I tried punching the blockage through using a section of hose into the clean-out, but it must have been further along.

Brent sent a couple of guys out and the experience was mostly good.

Great:
- Quickness of the work... they were done in about 10 minutes.
- Equipment... right away they went to the heavy duty drain auger.
- Helpful... they provided some dialogue and advice about the problem, and how to avoid it in the future.
- '1st-time-customer' discount.

Not so good:
- Brent said it would be him, by himself, coming out to do the work. Instead he sent two other guys. That probably drove up the price.
- They were 15 minutes late after a 2-hour window was given.
- The price was maybe 30-40% higher than we expected, even with the discount.

We will most likely call Plumbtastic in the future. They demonstrated competence and good customer service. Three stars gets to five if they find a more competitive price and better punctuality.

I really wish I could give Kirby and Brent more than 5 stars. These guys were AMAZING. Our pipe froze in the middle of a snowstorm, where we were expected to get almost 9 inches of snow today. They came out to our house, unfroze the pipe in 5 minutes, and didn't charge us an arm and a leg!

They are sincerely the nicest two guys in the fixit world that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I cannot recommend them enough!! If you need plumbers who communicate with you, give you reasonable estimates on when they will get to you, and do it all with a smile instead of the usual snarl you get from others - call Plumbtastic!! :D

Absolutely agree with the other 5 star reviews. I was nervous to have a plumbing company come into my home because of past experiences with scammers. I called Friday night and the guys were here Saturday morning. They quoted $30O flat rate, including just showing up, but said it would could possibly be cheaper if the problem wasn't too bad. Sure enough, they said the problem wasn't bad and only charged $285. I would also like to mention the other companies in the Rockville area I called would not give me a price over the phone and wanted as much as $175 for just showing up at my house. I highly recommend these guys!! Brent and Kirby are the real deal.

Totally professional and reliable operation. I only needed them for a simple clogged drain job but i needed it done quickly. They came the same day we called, showed up right on time when they said they would and were in and out in literally 20 minutes. They charged a flat rate that was the same as they quoted over the phone. And although it was a small detail but they even noted that we don't wear shoes in our home and immediately removed their boots without saying a word and got right to work. Minor thing like I said but i think it reflects their attention to detail and strong customer service ethic. I would definitely recommend them and will call them again when I need plumbing help.

I had a great experience with Plumbtastic Plumbing. Late in the evening the night before I was going out of town for over a week, I got a clog in my garbage disposal.

On Saturday morning, during my train trip to BWI Airport, I took to Yelp to price out various plumbing services. Plumbtastic was my first call, and should have been my last. Their weekend fee of snaking a drain was $200, very reasonable compared to the others that I priced out and did not include a service fee or call fee. Kirby responded quickly, provided thorough information, and was out to my apartment later that day. Garbage disposal and drain now works great, and Kirby even provided advice to prevent another clog. Great business.

Amazing service from Osaro and the team at Plumtastic.

Osaro tried to walk me through an issue on the phone before coming and had me text him pics of the issue. On a freezing and snowy day, he was the only plumber to check in with me regularly and arrived much faster than expected.

Osaro fixed the problem and gave me some tips on how to prevent a reoccurrence. Price was right on too for emergency service. I can't say enough about how great the service was with this otherwise dreadful problem.

They told me they would come out on Wednesday, and on Thursday they called saying they couldn't make our appointment (that had been a day earlier) and had to reschedule.

Great guys !! Very courteous and willing to explain what was and was not important to worry about as a new home owner with a plugged sink and stopped up shower. I'm only taking a star off because I was told they'd show up around 4 pm, I called to confirm and had to leave a message. Someone called back at 4:30 saying they would be here at 5:30. I was working from home, so not a big deal, but if you're on a time crunch I'd just communicate that with them in advance.

Unfortunately, I have to get a new shower handle installed which involves cutting through some drywall to do it -- I'm confident they will give me a fair price quote and that makes a huge difference to me. Moreover, I called around many of the highest rated plumbers in the area in the last 24 hours and these guys were not only the cheapest but absolutely some of the nicest (including to my dog!). Definitely give them a shout.

I had a leaking shower. After spending several hours--and three trips to the hardware store--trying to fix it myself and doing more harm than good, I decided to call Plumbtastic. I chose them because I was almost sure I would need new parts, and it looked like they were willing to shop for parts and come back the same day.

When I called their 202 number, it was immediately answered by one of the plumbers. (The 800 number on their website doesn't work.) I explained my situation and texted them a picture. They immediately replied that they knew what do do and could fix it for $100 that same afternoon.

Well, that is exactly what happened. They (2 plumbers, including the guy I talked to) came when they said they would, calling 15 minutes ahead as promised, and within half an hour of their arrival, the problem was completely solved and the shower looked like new again. Not only that, but they had been able to fix it with the random parts I accumulated from my trips to the hardware store, so no new parts were required.

It was all super smooth, super easy, and super pleasant. I would HIGHLY recommend Plumbtastic and will go to them first next time I have any plumbing issues. Call these guys!

I had two separate issues and they were called when my contractor couldn't troubleshoot the problem and find a solution. Brent and Kirby showed up on-time, were courteous and answered all my questions.
They fixed the shower head problem and also tackled an issue with my new sink faucet where I was dealing with a huge reduction in hot water pressure. While they were fixing that problem, they re-evaluated the way the sink stopper was installed and found that it wasn't set up properly. This is something I had also wondered about, so it was great they were able to correct it. They tightened up all the connections and everything has been working great ever since.
After the work was done, I had a better understanding of the problem. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again if I had any plumbing needs.

So one day I go and take a shower and when I go to turn the faucet off it doesn't actually turn the water all the way off. There is still a significant amount of water coming out of the faucet.

I call Plumbtastic Plumbing at 6:30pm and they answer!

They are at my house at 10:30am (exactly on time) the next morning, check out the problem, go get a part, and are back and have it fixed in 45 minutes.

Kirby was incredibly friendly, professional, and even played a bit with my very excited puppy.

The kicker was that while most places I called wanted to charge $150 to just come and look, Plumbtastic billed us $90 for parts and labor.

I cannot recommend them highly enough and will certainly be using them again!

Week one: Plumbtastic is scheduled to come out for an estimate. They call several hours before the appointment and say that they had a scheduling mix up. We rescheduled for the following week.

Week two: Twenty minutes after our appointment time, I call Plumbtastic because nobody has showed up. They say they have to check and call me back. When they call back they tell me that their van broke down, and the technician never made them aware of it. When asked what was wrong with the van, when I could get a plumber, or any other logical questions, the only response I got was I don't know. Can we reschedule for tomorrow?

I would not recommend Plumbtastic plumbing.

I had what I thought was a small leak in my ceiling. I called a bunch of plumbers, and plumbtastic was the only company available to come to our house within a day. Their customer service is fantastic and their response time is very fast.

The plumber arrived right on time, however after two full hours, and 5 holes in my ceiling, he could not figure out where the leak was coming from. He advised that someone else would have to come out. They would bring a camera that could snake into the holes created by him. (Why didn't he have this camera with him? Wouldn't that make sense to carry this important tool with you to every job?) I had already spent 3 hours on a Saturday and still had an unresolved leak (which was now constant due to the hole in the ceiling).

I had a second opinion come out later that night, and they were able to find the leak within 20 minutes. Not only did he find the leak, he advised that the amount of holes made by plumbtastic was definitely excessive. Rather than dry wall patches, we are now going to have to replace our crown molding too. In addition, there was mold from the constant leak that wasn't spotted by plumbtastic. Luckily I didnt wait until the weekday to have someone else come out for a second opinion, or I'd have a much bigger problem that a pipe and ceiling repair.

If it weren't for their quick response time and friendly customer service, this company would deserve one star. The plumber, even though he couldn't find the leak, was very friendly-I just wish he knew more about plumbing.

I used plumbtastic to install a new water heater because mine was 18 years old! Initially I looked on Angie's List and then wanted to compare what I saw to Yelp, and that's when I came across Plumbtastic. I'm super happy that I did, as I now have an excellent and reliable resource for my home needs. Kirby and Brent are brothers and they are a pleasure to work with. They were responsive on Yelp (providing a quick, accurate, and fair price quote as well as responding to correspondence) and text, and are friendly and professional in person. After I selected a new water heater at Home Depot (and ordered it, along with the warrantee online), they picked it up for me, and delivered it to me (they were flexible with scheduling), and installed it with no problem. I found their price (including pickup, installation, followup, and I believe a 1-year warrantee on labor - which is standard) to be very reasonable, especially compared to others that I priced. I really appreciated that they followed up with me a few days after installation just to make sure that everything was working well. When I mentioned I thought I might have an issue with my bathtub faucet that could be affecting my hot water volume, they immediately scheduled another visit with me. Upon their return, they fixed my bathtub. I will contact Kirby and Brent as soon as I need help in the future and I encourage you to do the same! These guys are really great! I needed a plumber quick and I was at work and leaving town for a biztrip that sunday am and I needed a Saturday slot ...so I called for a leaky hall toilet and they said they could come out Saturday between 3 and 3:30. I was skeptical because usually you get the old before noon or afternoon...just sit around and wait for us....

My water heater was broken, so I called up Plumbtastic and was initially impressed that they were able to get someone out to me the next day. That was the high point, though. When the plumber showed up, he didn't have any tools with him - not even a screw driver or electrical testers, the two most basic things you would need to figure out why an electric water heater isn't working.

He didn't seem terribly interested in trying to fix the heater, though, and could only talk about replacing it. He called his manager and asked him to find out about replacement options, but I never heard back from either of them

I'm actually glad I didn't hear back from them about replacements, though, because I had another plumber from another company come out the next day. He actually brought tools with him, and using those tools was able to track down a simple wiring problem and fix it in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I had to spend another day without hot water while waiting for that plumber since Plumbtastic wasn't able to do anything.

Brent and DJ were fantastic. They came in to replace an exterior faucet and ended up having to cut a hole through my drywall and actually put in a valve to the front exterior faucet. They went above and beyond. They went to Home Depot to get the necessary parts and even got an access panel. They cleaned up after themselves and took their shoes on and off each time they left and entered the house. Their price was reasonable, and they were professional at all times. They arrived a little after 530p and what was supposed to be an hour/90 min job ended up taking a little over 3 hrs. DJ needed to be with his daughter for dinner but stayed until the job was done. I never felt that they were hurrying up to do a half-assed job because they needed to be somewhere else. They took their time to do it right, and as a first time homebuyer, they made sure I was comfortable with every step of the way. I hardly ever write up 5 star reviews, and I hope I don't see them again soon, but if I do need plumbing services again, I'm glad to have found a dependable and trustworthy company.

Really good quality professional work, but you're going to pay for it. I called on a Monday to have a kitchen sink drain unclogged, and they were able to give me an appointment for Wednesday. They showed up on time and were very thorough and professional. The only reason I couldn't give five stars is because an hour of work cost $250. If you have the extra cash, these guys should be first on your list to call.

Super responsive and nice. I liked that Kirby came with shoe covers as I don't generally like shoes in the house. He came to look at our kitchen sink (which was leaking) and toilet, was here less than 5 min. and didn't charge us (though I felt bad he came on a Saturday). He is coming back to fix our kitchen sink this week now that I have the correct part ordered. He even helped me over the phone to try to solve the problem before he came. Really glad I found them, and highly recommend so far. We notice some leak in our basement then we called them. The second day DJ showed up and he detected one leaking point while that is too much for a single worker. Thus we make another appointment for the next day. The next morning, Kirby and DJ came on time. Quickly they cut the drywall and found the cracked big pipe. After around 1 and half hour they fixed it. During the process, they are knowledgeable, professional and nice. Given the time they spent and the beautiful job they did, the charge is very fair. We cannot recommend more.

Plumbtastic was AWESOME! The person who answered the phone was friendly and up front with an estimate based on my kitchen sink debacle. The owner, Kirby, came out right on schedule and fixed the sink immediately. I even sweet talked him into peeking at a two tubs and a bathroom sink and simple fixes and he completely took care of ALL of my issues. Called this company on a Wednesday morning to replace my garbage disposal and the service was completed by Wednesday afternoon. They were fast, efficient and friendly. Kirby at Plumbtastic was awesome. Had to install a new kitchen faucet. After my DIY project went south, I called John C Flood. They were going to charge me the $1000 for a $400 faucet and install. They couldn't justify the costs, so I decided to comparison shop. I checked the reviews and called Kirby at Plumbstastic and he was great from start to finish. Charged me a flat $125, plus the cost of the faucet which I picked out from Home Depot's website. He was able to pick up the faucet from Home Depot. He arrived at the exact time he said he would and didn't take more than 30 minutes. I put his number on speed dial.

I would definitely use them again! During a recent cold snap, our water pipes froze. I called up Plumbtastic Plumbing, and although they were very busy, they managed to squeeze us in since they had a guy working in the neighborhood. He was very polite and friendly, and he immediately identified where the freeze was occurring as soon as he saw how the water entered our house. Less than 30 minutes (and a cut in our drywall) later, we had water again! While I hope we won't need them on an emergency basis again anytime soon, the customer service we received was excellent all around, and I'd recommend them.

Great fast service with a smile. These guys really know what their doing. We had a backed up sink in the basement which was caused by the garbage disposal. They knew the problem when I called -- right after I said basement sink. They looked at a couple other issues we had and knew the problems right away, then had us back up and running in less than an hour. Very reasonable prices, friendly, communicative and fast. He and his brother came out to snake my clogged dual kitchen sink, replace a leaky toilet valve, and tighten up some pipes that were making a lot of noise. 5 Stars for Kirby and Brent on a job they did for me last month. We replaced our expensive to operate electric water heater with a gas fired power vent unit. Like every retrofit, there were a number of challenges to solve, and Kirby and Brent solved them all. The connection was made more complicated by the need for additional piping for the gas supply and the exhaust. Kirby and Brent were responsive, professional, courteous, got the job done right. And they saved me $, big time. The job came in at a 38% discount from two of the larger plumbing firms in the area. I will engage these guys again, and I recommend them highly.

Plumbtastic came when EVERYONE else was too busy to come on the same day. We had water coming up from the drain near our water heater, and really needed to be able to use our kitchen sink without fear of flooding our whole basement. Two plumbers did not consider this problem to be an emergency (what?), but it didn't matter. After calling seven plumbers around the area, Plumbtastic came to the rescue. He snaked the kitchen sink and the drain and the wash tub in no time. I think the total bill was something like $225. A little pricey, but quick response and great service. Highly recommended!

Like everyone else I had a very positive experience with Plumbtastic, particularly Kirby. I had a contractor install a new toilet in my condo as part of a renovation. My brand new toilet was installed crooked. Not a little bit crooked, a lot crooked. The contractor gave me some BS about how actually the old toilet was also crooked and the new toilet was crooked because it was an old building and the pipes were not straight in the wall. So I called Plumbtastic for a second opinion. Kirby came out and within 15 minutes of tinkering with my toilet made it perfectly straight. He said it was the easiest job he had all day ha and told me there was no charge! So I gave him a tip and have already lined up other plumbing for him to do in my bathroom. I really appreciate how honest Kirby was unlike my scheming contractor who made fixing it sound impossible!

Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend I awoke to find my daughter in the basement mopping up from a backup when she did a load of laundry. After trying the recommendation my neighbor gave me and a few other possiblities, none who could come out today, I called Plumbtastic. They said they couldn't get out until later in the day, but less than two hours later I got a call from Osara who said he could be there in an hour. He was polite, efficient and got rid of the clog that had caused the backup.

The only reason that I'm not giving them 5 stars is that I thought maybe the $300 charge was a bit high (in fairness they quoted that price when I called them--I really had no basis for comparison never having needed a plumber on an emergency basis), but as I've looked at reviews it seems not to be too much out of line with what others charge. And well worth getting the problem taken care of quickly.

Kirby is the best plumber in DC and an all around reasonable guy who runs an efficient business. I spoke to ~8 plumbers in the area and all of them wanted to charge me significant fees for simply making the visitation or could not come within 1 or 2 days. Kirby did not charge the fee and was able to fit me into his schedule later that night (he works until very late in the evenings).

I had a clogged outdoor drain in the front of my Capitol Hill townhouse and had two plumbers come by, including Kirby. The first plumber wanted to charge me $99 for using his plunger and almost $300 to use the snake. He used the plunger, it didn't work, and he immediately told me that the drain pipe was broken. He said that in order to fix the blockage, he needed to break the concrete, dig up the pipe, replace it, and pour new concrete over the area to make it whole again. His comment was that this type of work costs thousands of dollars at which point my anxiety went through the roof.

As soon as I spoke to Kirby, he assured me that he would do everything in his power to avoid having to break concrete at my new home. He came by and used two different kinds of snakes, a powerful shop vac, and a fiber optic camera. After about 30mins, he had the blockage cleared and saved me thousands of dollars. He was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I was very pleased with his work and he even gave me a free consultation about sump pumps.

I would highly recommend Kirby to anyone and he will be the first person that I call if I ever need any plumbing work.

When my fiancee and I discovered water on the basement floor early this morning and a leak coming from the ceiling above, I was envisioning the worst -- a long wait to have someone come out, a small fortune just to get them to walk in the door, a highly-priced job... you get the idea.

My actual experience with Plumbtastic couldn't have been more positive. They showed up on time -- even a little early, but only after calling to see if it would be okay. Kirby, the owner of the company, speedily diagnosed the problem (a clog in the toilet in the bathroom above the basement) and went to work. He was great at explaining what he was doing and how the piping in the bathroom was causing the leakage. He snaked the toilet and then snaked the tub and sink, too -- all for one very reasonable price.

Throughout the appointment Kirby and Brent were both extremely professional and courteous. They took great care in my home, putting on and taking off booties on their shoes as they went back and forth to the truck for tools.

I hope we won't need a plumber again for a long time. But, if we do, we'll be calling Plumbtastic.

Plumbtastic replaced a cracked and leaking toilet for me on Friday. The guys who came were very helpful and professional. One thing I liked is that Plumbtastic recommended a toilet brand for me, but I ordered the toilet myself, gave them the order number and then they picked it up. The price for the job was very reasonable ($220 including disposal of the old toilet). Turns out the flange was broken, which is why the toilet cracked, and they fixed it at no extra cost.

The guys who are Plumbtastic really are fantastic!

With the recent cold snap, we neglected to run the hot water in one of our taps when we should have. These guys were not only one of the few services to actually answer the phone, but they were able to come out a full day earlier than anyone else.

They followed up with us the morning of the appointment to make sure we were still on, and when they got here, they took care of the cracked pipe very quickly.

We have no reservations about calling these folks again for our future plumbing needs.

Ah, the joys of owning an older home. Let me count the ways...There is the wonderful aesthetic appeal, the charm...oh, and the crappy plumbing. Just the other day, the toilet in our master bedroom started flushing by itself. My hot water heater stopped working. After a very unpleasant cold shower, I called Plumbtastic around 10pm on a Thursday, expecting to leave a message. Imagine my surprise when a live person picked up! I scheduled an appointment for the next morning at 8. Around 8, I received a call telling me to expect the plumbers in about ten minutes. They arrived right on time and were very polite. Apparently my water heater has a reset button behind a panel - who knew?! When I got out my wallet, they said they wouldn't even charge me for something so simple (but I did tip them). Fast, thoughtful, honest - you bet I'm calling them next time I need a plumber!!

i picked plumbtastic based on yelp reviews - & i'm so glad i did. Brent and 2 others on their crew pulled out 2 old toilets, 2 old built-in vanities, picked up my new toilets and vanities and sinks from home depot and installed them along with the new faucets. Kirby and Brent even came back the next evening to resolve an unexpected situation that was discovered during the installation which had caused them to have to skip part of the installation. Kirby did not increase the price that he had originally quoted me, even though i think the job turned out to be a bit more complicated than originally thought. Everyone was great - they covered all the floors before they started, let me know right away when they had questions or ran into unexpected problems, knew what they were doing, were very professional and worked steadily. I will use Plumbtastic from now on and I recommend them to everyone!

NOT RELIABLE. We called Plumbtastic on a Monday about a leaking shower pipe and the fastest they could see us was Wednesday. When the technician arrived, he diagnosed the problem but said he could not give us a quote. Instead, he promised to call me later that afternoon. He never called me. It is now three days later, and despite leaving the company messages, no one has returned my call or provided an estimate. Worse yet, we still can't use our shower. I definitely recommend looking elsewhere for plumbing services if you want a responsive, timely company. I was very disappointed in Plumbtastic, especially after seeing all of the positive Yelp reviews.

The people at Plumbtastic has some of the nicest and courteous technicians we have ever met. When our basement was flooded, they were able to resolve the issue and stop the flooding quickly and for an extremely fair price. They were also friendly enough to explain to our insurance company about our problem, greatly easing the process of filing a claim with them! I have never been led to write a review for a service based business until now, thanks to their incredible level of service. I will call them again if we have any more plumbing issues! The owners seemed nice, but our service was rescheduled twice, they arrived late and left the shower handle crooked. They also did not screw in the screws holding the plate onto the wall, so it fell off the first time the water was turned on. Disappointing that we did not have the same five-star experience as the other reviewers.

We called Plumbtastic Plumbing and requested an appointment on the same day at a certain time. We had to get an estimate on the plumbing issues in the house we were thinking of buying and had a limited time frame to get it checked. Most plumbers I called that day said they were not available or had other demands.

Kirby was busy that day but was able to accommodate our time frame for a very fair price. He and an assistant came on time and was very courteous, professional and excellent at giving us exactly what we needed to know. They gave us a reasonable estimate and made the process very easy for us.

I would recommend Plumbtastic Plumbing to anyone and will rehire them for any future plumbing issues we might have in our new house.

I called them to install a hot water heater at my mothers house in NW DC. We initially thought that the hot water heater needed replacing so we ordered a new one and had it delivered to our house. The 2 plumbers they sent me,Kirby and Brent, were very professional and honest. They examined the old water heater and said that I didn't need a new one, I only needed the thermo coupling replaced. They replaced it and it worked! They charged me a very reasonable fee, I even decided to tip them for their honesty and professionalism. I saved a tremendous amount of money because my hot water heater was still in perfect condition. I will without a doubt, be calling these guys again for any plumbing issues I may have in the future!

Terrific service, extremely professional and honest, and VERY reasonable rates. This is my first yelp review ever but these guys were really a cut above other service professionals I come in contact with in the Bethesda area. After a rain storm my sump pump stopped working and I was ready to buy a new one. These guys came to my house very quickly and figured out the sump pump was fine but that the pipe was clogged. They could easily have sold me a costly new pump. Because I already had them at the house I showed them a bit of water damage and they quickly discerned it was due to bad caulking in the shower one floor above. I had them caulk all my bathrooms. I will absolutely call them again the next time I have a problem and will recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Came home from vacation to be greeted by a burst valve due to the freezing temperatures recently. Fortunately, I had turned off the main water valve so there was no major damage but we had to keep the water off.

When I first called Plumbtastic, they didn't have any appointments available until later that afternoon but they were nice enough to call us back a couple of hours later, despite us not making an appointment with them originally, to let us know there was a technician in the area. He came, saw the problem and fixed it quickly and at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be calling this company again for any plumbing issues.

The ordered a part which I followed up with 3 times to get them to come back to install, but they were a no show on the appointment day and have not responded to any of my messages since. I would not use them if you want to resolve your plumbing problem.

Our basement ceiling was leaking after having a new refrigerator installed on a Wednesday afternoon. I called Kirby after did some research on Yelp. He answered the phone right away, and scheduled a check up on Thursday morning. We went through one night without running water but it wasn't too bad. On Thursday morning Kirby and his brother Brent (or could be Brett, sorry I didn't catch it clearly) came to the house a little late passed the scheduled appointment time, but it's understandable. They checked the ceiling, then the refrigerator. They caught the leaking on the valve behind the refrigerator. It turns out that the valve was leaking water into the basement ceiling, instead of dripping on our first floor where the refrigerator is. It was an easy and quick fix and they stopped the leaking right away. Because it was an easy job, and they didn't charge us anything so we tipped them instead. Hopefully the valve will behave the way it should and we won't have the same problem any more. I liked that Kirby is very responsive on the phone and via texting.

I called another plumber before called Kirby. That plumber charges by hour plus service fee. I would have paid at least $190+ once he stepped in my door. Kirby did the check up and the fix for free. My husband and I couldn't ask more than that. I would keep them in mind when we redo our bathrooms. I would also recommend them to family and friends who need a plumbing job done.

I can see Kirby and his brother try hard to get good reputation, and I appreciate that. We hope they keep the good work, and we wish the best luck to them.

I called last night because I thought we had a burst hose pipe which was leaking inside the house at the shut-off valve. Kirby came this morning, calling me to tell me he was running a bit late -- ALWAYS appreciated. He looked at the leak and said he didn't think it was serious...and he was right. All that was needed was a tightening of the nut above the shut-off valve. It took him around 5 seconds to fix, and he told me no charge, just a tip would be appreciated. How amazing is that? Another plumber came to my house recently and charged me $65, just for coming out to assess a problem, so Plumbtastic has more than redeemed the plumbing industry, in my opinion. Kirby was courteous, pleasant, professional, and efficient. I will definitely be using this company again.

Just had my hot water heater replaced by the Plumbtastic Plumbing team. I chose them based on the stellar reviews on Yelp and I'm so glad I did. They were incredibly professional, easy to work with, and took the time to help me select a product that worked for me. The pan was going to be a tricky fit, and they came up with a solution to make it fit in my tiny DC rowhouse closet. They did the install after work so I didn't need to take time off, and took time to walk us through the new equipment. Bonus -They will come back free of charge for the next 2 years to flush the heater for sediment. I'm very happy I found them and plan to call on them for any other plumbing needs!

Fantastic! Went through a lot companies before finding Plumbtastic - and I could not be more impressed. I had a problem with an ejector pump in my basement. Other companies began by offering to replace the pump (upwards of $1100), or diagnosing it @ $125/hour. In stark contrast, Kirby spent a good amount of time (upwards of an hour, over multiple phone calls) trying to help me fix the problem myself. Eventually he did have to come out (with an associate), and they fixed the issue quickly and efficiently. They even did some extra work which will allow me to address the issue myself, if it ever arises. 5+ stars to Kirby and his team. A good plumber is hard to find - and this one's a keeper.

We hired PP to install a gas line to the new stove/oven. Another company also bid, charged us to bid the job, and then said we should keep the electric stove. Kirby and crew installed the gas line, as our kitchen was under demo. Their price was fair and the workmanship excellent. The work passed the county permit inspection. We also used them for a few repairs, and they were very responsive and fair. I recommend them, and will use them again.

I called Plumbtastic Plumbing for help with a leaking kitchen sink. I was able to reach them right away, and after describing my problem over the phone, the guy I was speaking with told me that it was likely a common problem with a very easy fix. He suggested I call him once I got home for him to walk me through the issue. Once I got home, I gave him a ring and he immediately answered. He proceeded to walk me through the issue and instructed me on how to fix it, which I was able to do with total ease. He never asked for compensation or for any sort of favorable review. We had an excellent experience with Plumbtastic Plumbing! The night before Thanksgiving, we discovered a leak in our storage closet. The company was able to send someone out to us that evening and diagnosed a pinhole leak in our pressure valve. They helped us with interim repairs and provided a phone number in case the leak got worse on Thanksgiving. Today, they went to multiple stores to find the part we needed and were very patient when WSSC had to get involved. All three plumbers were courteous and well informed. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely use them again!

I had two excellent experiences with Plumbtastic. They replaced my kitchen faucet and fixed a leak in record time. In fact, the owner and his assistant personally searched for the best priced faucet and went to a store to get it. Everything was done quickly and they didn't charge me extra for their effort. These guys are the real deal. Prompt, efficient, reasonably priced ( no weekend charge!) and no complaints when the job proved to be a bit difficult. So nice to be out of the grips of the 'big' plumbers. I'll certainly call them again if the need arises which I hope it doesn't.

I used plumbastic a few weeks back to install a new hot water heater. Kirby was great to work with, and we could not be happier with the service received. They are courteous, and amazingly always answered the phone when we called. We would not hesitate to use them again. Highly recommended!

I had a minor repair issue needed for my toilet. I called plumbtastic plumbing and Kirby arrived within 3 hours- right within the window he committed to when I first called. He even called 30 minutes before his arrival to let me know he would arrive soon- so helpful. Kirby was courteous and helpful, and the price couldn't be beat. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and I will call back in the future.

Kirby and crew from Plumbtastic Plumbers are without doubt the most competent, polite, best priced, generous with time and service, trustworthy, and personable plumbers around. After having an absolutely awful experience with another plumber (named Jim Blue), I can assure you that you will never look for another plumber once you go with Plumbtastic!

First time using plumbtastic and i was extremely impressed. We had what i thought was a routine clog but turned out be a very tricky problem - the clog was just below a T junction where the output from both of our bathrooms meet and start heading out. I called one plumber and they wanted us to wait the better part of a week or pay a $250 emergency fee. i called another and got a message telling me to leave voice mail but the voice mail box was full. nice. then i called plumbtastic and they offered me first thing the following morning or possibly that day if they could squeeze it in. they called me 730p to try to do it that night but unfortunately for me i missed the call. the team that came out in the morning stuck me as knowledgeable, courteous, and hard-working. they also made a tremendous effort to minimize the amount of mess left in their wake - very hard to do considering where their equipment ends up. unfortunately they didn't succeed and a second visit from another employee in the afternoon also came up empty. around 8p that evening the first team came back and managed to resolve the problem before yet another team arrived with a giant snake and a camera attachment. no money was requested until the job was successfully completed. if anything good came out of this, it is that i now feel that if another plumbing problem occurs i know who to call to get the job done properly and in a timely manner for a reasonable price.

I had a rental unit with a leaky kitchen sink on a Friday night and needed to get the job done quick. I called Plumbtastic that night and they came on-time on a Saturday morning! Kirby and Brent knew how to fix the problem in seconds and quickly got the job done. I'll definitely be hiring them to do more work. Highly recommended!

I had a kitchen drain that needed snaking and Plumbtastic Plumbers came out the same day. Scheduling was a breeze and they came 10 minutes before the expected time. I was quoted a flat rate (no hourly charges or surprise additional charges). Brent and Kirby were both very pleasant and professional. I highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing needs. I don't usually write reviews but I felt I needed to get the word out about this company because I was so pleased with their service. It is hard to find honest and reliable plumbers but I have now found my go to company for any future plumbing needs.
