Best Businesses in Texas
Our AC died on us last summer so I reached out to a few different companies for quotes and I really liked the salesperson for TX AC & Plumbing. They also had the best quote, so I felt like it was a no-brainer. We had issues with airflow in our home, so they recommended taking a couple of the forking AC ducts and routing them back directly to the central supply box to provide greater airflow. They were so confident this would provide an increase in airflow, they'd add dampers we could close in case it was too much. I also added a whole house air purifier to help with seasonal allergies.
The first issue was after they finished the installation, I went up to the attic to check out their work and noticed they routed the wrong ducts. No problem they said, they'd leave them and route the correct ones free of charge. In the end, I have no perceivable increase in airflow as requested, and I can't seem to get the dampers added to the wrong ducts to close. The way they hung some of the new ducts in the attic seem to pinch them, and I'm sure is actually making the airflow worse than before.
Issue two, they installed the air purifier on the return side of the HVAC. They said there was no room on the supply side, which is the recommended placement of the unit. There would have been room if they didn't mess up and run too many ducts to the central supply box.
Final straw, the AC condenser is noisy. There's a plastic shielding inside the unit that vibrates loudly whenever the fan is on. I had a technician come back out to investigate, he offered to zip tie it as a fix. He said if that didn't work, there wasn't much else he could do. His fix lasted only about a week before the noise came back.
I've since had another trusted company come out to look at alternatives to improve the airflow in our home. They laughed about how horrible of a job TX AC did at the installation. I should have gone with them in the first place, it would have cost a little more at first but I wouldn't have to pay someone else to fix the job TX AC did and refused to repair.

Mike has been my plumber for years except for a period when I lost his phone number and tried the number posted on Yelp. His business is NOT closed. It was just my good luck that I ran into him one day and got his number again. As great a plumber as he is, he simply does not advertise beyond having a business card. His phone number is 512-626-8036. Do yourself a favor and hang onto that number.

If I could give 6 stars I would. Tony and his team were amazing. I hired GIS to convert a sunken bonus room into a self-contained studio apartment with a full-size bathroom and kitchenette. I received many quotes and GIS was really competitive. The plumbing work was quite extensive but Tony's team was very knowledgeable and professional in keeping informed every step of the way. The most impressive part, they pretty much created a masterpiece from just my imagination. It's beautiful and exceeded my expectations (which isn't easy to do). I have several other projects that I need to do and I will most definitely be working with these guys again. I actually enjoyed having them at my place every day which was important for me in working with any contractor. Great energy, a bit of laughter and great work. Can't beat that!!

The worst customer experience I have ever had. We asked them to come out on December 26th which they did. They ran a few tests to identify where a leak came from in a wall. They basically threw some caulk on a gap, charged us, had us spend $825 to hire a company to dry out the area. When the area was dry and we used the tub again it turns our they hadn't fixed the leak. We had them come out again, and they said it was because the tub needed to be re-sealed. I then hired another plumber to assess the situation and they had it entirely wrong. Very disappointing, and I can't even get the owner/manager to have a discussion with me. I have tried to be reasonable and resolve the situation, but at this point, it causes is just too much time and aggravation. My advice would be to avoid this company at all costs!

I had my home warranty service send out a plumber from this business yesterday. My memory is a little iffy when it comes to the guy's name, but I think it was Terry. He was a gentleman and very patient with the numerous questions I had as a new homeowner. He explained everything he was doing, and put my mind at ease about any possible damage the leak could have caused. I was pleased with his service.

This is by far the most amazing service company I have ever encountered. We installed a new manufactured home and they came out to hook up the water and sewer. They not only came in a timely fashion but provided beyond stellar customer service. Unfortunately the manufacturer of the home did not install things properly and we had 2 leaks in a single day. C and K guys came out and fixed everything within 1.5 hours of calling... not once but twice! Their guys were not only professional and knowledgeable but just overall really great people. I would more than recommend them for any plumbing needs!

i have used them a few times and have referred them also a few times... my friends were so very satisfied with them - they told me affordable saved them alot of money -- i had a friend that had a really troubling issue in their laundry room and 2 different plumbers told them the repairs would costs thousands of dollars of major plumbing work... i suggested they call affordable and it was pretty amazing what happened... affordable said the solution was a 75 cent part to vent the drain... that was it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was a few years ago and the problem has stayed fixed ----

Reliable, reasonably priced and solid workmanship. Has done multiple jobs from simple faucet install to complex repair (reconnected bath drain in the slab requiring jack hammering to make a difficult reconnect to fix the leak. Also replaced water heater and replaced copper pipe after a freeze. Highly recommende!

Butch Marshall and his team are amazing. Reasonably priced, knowledgeable and professional! I have had them do work on my home and referred them several times. Everyone that I know that has had them come out was very pleased with their work. Even had someone contact me to get their number again after all their phone contacts were lost 'just in case' they need a plumber again. Highly recommend!

Ross Plumbing is 1000% committed and determined to fix your problem. They are very responsive and always show up on time. They are high-quality plumbers who are amazing people.
Ross Plumbing was recommended to me by the folks at Glass Well and I'm glad they did. Cody and Clint have taken care of several fairly routine plumbing issues for me and have been prompt, courteous, and reasonable.
More recently I've had a water heater problem. They replaced it but there were still issues. Over a couple of weeks they came out several times (no charge) and tired different solutions. When I mentioned I had a high flow rate on my water softener but no one could find a leak, even the plumbers with fancy technology, Clint ruled out other issues and finally discovered that yes, there was a slab leak from the water heater. We had all been stumped for months, but using reason and the process of elimination, plus his plumbing knowledge, Clint nailed it. Although it will be costly to fix this, at least now I know what the problem is and we can work around it till it's fixed. And if this ends up being a job beyond the scope of what Cody Ross Plumbing does, I will use Leroy Ross (Cody's father), who does construction plumbing.
In summary, they're the best around on all fronts. I cannot rate them high enough for what they've done.

This company did the plumbing install on our new house. We had problems from the start. We had out clean out clogged several times. Finally the city came out and ran a camera through the pipe. Their report was shocking and acurate.
The pipe had unnecessary bends, was crushed with a large rock and root, and had a blocked off y fitting in the section. What a joke. Totally Inane...

I had a great experience with AAA Auger Plumbing. I wanted some tests done on my property. Ray, Ray and Trent did the tests and found a few issues. They made sure that I understood everything prior to leaving. Prices seemed very reasonable. Very happy with the service they provided and will be contacting them again for any future plumbing issues.

Whoever is using the name The King of Drains on Yelp in Austin appears to be a scammer even though I believe there is a legitimate company by that name in San Antonio. Raymond Jones at 737-600-2552 showed up, took a look at the plumbing, talked about doing thousands of dollars of work, requested $485 for apparently doing nothing about our slow drain, could only be paid by Zelle or CashApp, had the payment rescinded by CashApp to protect me, and hasn't been heard from since. Do not engage with this person or you will regret it!
