Hightower fixed some issues with my system caused by my previous vendor and convinced me to buy a maintenance agreement with the incentive that they have a no fee guarantee which basically eliminates travel and emergency call fees.
The good news is that I haven't had any major issues in almost a year.. the bad news is that as soon as I did have an issue, they told me that they are discontinuing the no fee guarantee. They gave me a myriad of excuses why they were discontinuing it, but none of them made me feel any better.
Less than two months after a routine maintenance, I started to hear a hissing noise coming from one of my intakes. It turned out to be a loose blower wheel. I don't blame Hightower for this, of course, but I am certainly skeptical about this happening so quickly after a thorough maintenance which specifically included inspection of the blower wheel. The technician said that it is not impossible for a blower wheel to come loose all of a sudden, but my research into loose blower wheel issues reveals that most of the time this happens gradually. They also charged me $307 to replace it, despite a blower wheel for my unit only costing $30 at most. I can't help but wonder whether the price is that high in order to compensate for the no fee part of the guarantee.
I just wish I could find one, totally honest and reputable company that doesn't eventually try to deceive me in some way. Surprisingly enough, Hightower is one of the few companies that has an excellent rating on the BBB and prior to my review here, not a single complaint anywhere.
EDIT: I just received the $307 back from Hightower apologizing for my inconvenience. While I appreciate the generosity, I consider it more of a coupon for 4 free travel fees. I would have been fine if they kept that and just told me they wouldn't ever be charging me any travel fees as long as I perform the repair. Their office is literally a 10 minute drive from my house.

Great experience with Raines Electric in getting a manual control switch installed for a portable generator. My contact person was Brian. We communicated via text, as it was easier for me to send him pictures to get an estimate for the job. He was quick to reply, provided very reasonable rates, and the technician arrived on time. Michael and James were on time and installed the manual control switch. I had some questions about the install and sent a picture to Brian. He wasn't particularly happy with the install, and he arranged for Randy to make the necessary corrections to the the positioning of the manual control switch to make it safer. I'm very happy with Brian's response and with the company. Raines was referred to me from one of my neighbors, and I in turn, recommended them to another neighbor. We called Tioga to help my elderly mom sort out her complicated electricity issues. She had already hired another company to do several hundreds of dollars of work in her home; to no prevail.

Excellent work and very reasonable price. We had to replace 12 florescent lights and ballasts and move an exit sign. Lot of work two men on the job from 9 am until around 3 pm. Had several electricians that wanted $300 just to come out and give us a quote. These guys responded promptly, clearly knew exactly what they were doing and gave us a five year warranty on their work. We will be using them for all our companies electric work and I will be using them for my home work in the future as well.

Turner Electric is always my go-to for electrical work. They are knowledgeable and professional, and they have a great vision for lighting design in any part of your home, inside or outside. My home feels more inviting at night with the exterior lighting, and is more energy efficient with the updates inside as well. The service guys were nice, but the price was robbery. I stupidly paid over $1,700 to have two NEMA 14-50 outlets installed in the garage. One was installed on the same wall and one on the other. This increases the price I do know this. However, we had a NEMA 14-50 installed at another property by another company and had the line run under the length of the house and through an exterior wall and it was a quarter of the price. there is no logical explanation as to the $1,700 price other than I was taken advantage of. I could have two of those run through the underside of a house and still barely get to HALF of the price Mr Electric charged for the garage install. They sent an email about feedback and I responded saying I felt like I was taken advantage of and would like be contacted. They never contacted and so I decided to leave a review. HAVE MORE THAN ONE COMPANY GIVE YOU A QUOTE BEFORE USING THEM. They did good work, but will take advantage of you. The service guy kept trying to upset me on a surge protector for the breaker box for an additional $400 or something. Scammy and over priced.

These folks are the most honest and reliable tradesmen I have come across in my life (no exaggeration. Seriously.).
After reading a few other Yelp reviews with no-so-great things to say about Milestone Electric I decided to call the other folks mentioned in that previous review. So I called 'Electrician on Call' and Mr. Electric this morning at 7:15AM. Since no one answered the phone I had to leave a message for Electrician on Call (which said someone would call within 2 hours - I am STILL waiting and it now noon). On the other hand, Mr. Electric had a live person answer the phone who scheduled an appointment for 2pm today. Around 10AM the folks called and asked if I was available (I was), since they were in the neighborhood so they swung by and quickly diagnosed the two issues I had:
1. A switch on a dimmer, controlling 6 canned lights, gets very hot to the touch. SOLUTION: change the wattage on the bulbs and it will be taken care. I did and it was!! NO CHARGE.
2. We have a light fixture that was wired incorrectly and was tricky - Gary spent 20 minutes diagnosing the problem, fixing it and CLEANED UP the dust and debris that came from the outlet. Again, NO CHARGE! Simple fix, m'am,
Unbelievable!!! You won't go wrong with these folks! I am more than thrilled and will use them again in the future, refer them and spread the word.

We had a piece of equipment that needed to be fixed. They came out once, and the next day it still wasn't working. They came out again shortly after informing them it wasn't working. Another day passed by, still wasn't working. Long story short, had them come out three times, the piece still isn't working, and we got charged for all three times. Keep in mind one of their reps had informed us that if we call back for the same problem within two weeks we wouldn't get charged. We paid the first bill but tried to dispute the other two, and they just ended up sending us to collection. We paid it because it was easier, however we will never be using this company again and wouldn't recommend anybody using them. They're not good at repairing and they're dishonest.

If there was a way to give 0 stars I would. First of all they don't know how to bill properly. I've called almost every month I've had them to let them know I haven't received a bill and only have received a disconnection notice. Every single time they say they've set me up for auto pay and that I will be getting an email and print bill and every month it's the same story. They've shut my power off three times when I've paid my bill and have to go through oncor to try and get the power back on. This time has been over 12 hours without power now because of their screw up with no end in sight WITH A PAID BILL. Oh yeah don't be late paying your bill by even one day or you are disconnected. Worst customer service on the phone as well, they do nothing. Save yourself the headache and don't even try them out. I'm cancelling my service.
