Established in 1935.
Chapman Electric Company was founded in 1935 in Dallas, Texas by Clifford RED Chapman. Red received his degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M, and began his business in his backyard. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army in WWII where he designed and set up battery re-manufacturing facilities that overseas. Upon his return, he moved his shop to downtown Dallas where he then specialized in batteries and re-manufacturing electric motors for streetcars. In the early sixties, the company was passed to Red's son Clifford G. Chapman Junior. Clifford could see that the needs of the material handling industry were constantly growing. In light of those needs, the company began specializing in servicing electric forklift motors. Chapman Electric Company is now in its third generation of family ownership with James and Chris Chapman. Through the experience and guidance of our predecessors, Chapman Electric Company continues to grow.

My brother Chris and I are co-owners of Chapman Electric Company. We both grew up in the business and are proud to continue our families business.
