Main Man should be your first choice if faced with a large water main / sewer job.
We had the unfortunate pleasure of having a pipe break in the street, and as the home owner ,we were on the hook to repair.

After calling 4 contractors, we were quoted some outrageously high prices. 2 contractors flat out lied to me about the types of pipe I had in my home, trying to scare me into replacing pipes that were fine, but would pad the job .

Irwin from Main Man showed up and straight away debunked what the last contractor told me (I already knew I was lied to, but was impressed Irwin didn't perpetuate the lie - ( he could have to score himself a larger job)

He quoted me a price that was $2500. LOWER than the last guy, and was going to do it in 1/2 the time. I was skeptical, because his price was so reasonable, I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

But I was pleasantly surprised.

Irwin sat with me, and walked me through the contract, and really just made me feel at ease, in a time when I was besides myself because of the situation.

The next day Main Main's workers showed up, on time and in good spirits - They got to work promptly, and worked cleanly. In under 3 hours the job was done, and the workers assured me the final steps would be completed in a weeks time. 4 days later the final concrete was laid and I couldn't be happier.

Pete and James helped to install a very complicated whole-house water filtration system for us. They came by to provide a quote and did the job very efficiently. Their pricing is reasonable as well. We plan to use them as our primary plumber going forward.

We had Downtown P&H visit our apartment to fix an overflowing toilet tank. Their customer service was available in the middle of the night and coached us on how to temporarily solve the problem until the plumber could come in the morning. William called us at 8 am, just like the operator said he would, and showed up to fix the issue within an hour. He was efficient, friendly, and detail oriented. Not only did he fix our plumbing problem, but he CLEANED our entire bathroom area around the toilet and the sink, replaced our problematic toilet flushing lever without being prompted, as well as noticing our bathroom door handle was loose and tightening it. These guys are great. Would definitely be using Downtown P&H again and utilizing William's skills and excellent customer service.

I have relied on Colin's plumbing skills for the last two years.  He is an excellent plumber, reasonably priced, and cleans up after each project.  He communicated how long it will take and how much it will likely cost.  He is a friendly Irish-American you can count on.

My experience with Blaustein was the complete opposite of Phineas' (as has been the experience of two co-ops who've used Blaustein for years and recommended them).  B. responded immediately to my call and located a hard-to-reach leaking drainpipe that two previous plumbers had been unable to find.  Junior, the head doctor, had to cut away a lot of wood shims under the tub to see the culprit, then removed and replaced it in only two hours' work.  Decades of experience, total professionals, reasonable prices, and it's even a union shop, we understand.

Samir was great to work with. We needed to make space in our kitchen for a dishwasher installation (which included putting a new outlet in and taking out some cabinets). Samir was super responsive and easy to work with. Scheduling was a breeze and he came and did the job in an afternoon. The price for the job was really fair and better than all of the other quotes we got. Samir is also a really nice guy. I couldn't recommend him highly enough and we are very happy with our new dishwasher!

I found this company on Yelp on 6/22. They came the same day within 20 minutes, handled the problem I was having in no time and gave me a price. All within a span of no more than half an hour. Amazing! Howard, Brandon and Co., were all professional and polite. The reviews for this company are on point. They are who they say they are. Oscar at Racso plumbing provided professional clean service. He installed 3 Nest thermostats for me. He was very clean using shoe covers as soon as he entered the house and blankets while he was working keeping everything very clean. He even came back after one of the thermostats started acting weird and fixed it right away even after pseg said it was not working. I will definitely be using his services again. I recommend him highly

Robert was great. He responded to my call immediately and scheduled an appt for next day to clear my kitchen clog.  Price was very reasonable. When he arrived, he explained everything he was going to do. He even updated some old parts and provided some recommendations on how to clean the drain periodically. He's my new go to plumber. I've also recommended him to my friends.

Mike came threw and saved the day!! I had a main sewer line backed up with HARD grease and he knocked it right out. He was very professional, quick and courteous. Bought a portable dishwasher, and the device that connects to the sink didn't seem to fit my sink. I went to AE on the recommendation of a local hardware store that wasn't able to help me out.

Turns out, I wasn't doing it the right way and it did fit. They helped me out free of charge, despite the fact that I was a retail client instead of a contractor, who seem to be their typical customers. I appreciated the honesty and quick service!
