Stefan was fantastic from start to finish. What impressed me most is his attention to communication. Whenever I had a question about the work to be done prior to his arrival, he responded by text within 2 minutes. I never felt left in the dark. As he was completing the work, which was not straightforward and resulted in a need to change course, he was exuded confidence that everything would work out. There was no whining or complaining. He is so very pleasant and I would not hesitate to call him if you need electrical work. I am happy to have found someone like Stefan who is reliable and competent!

I found T&D through a few review sites (Yelp, Angie's List, etc.). From the start, they were responsive to my requests for information and pricing. They took a proactive approach to ensure they understood the work that needed to be performed and even went as far as to send someone out to review the work prior to putting together an estimate. The cost of this visit was later applied to the work performed.

Even more impressive than the communication was the effort that went into completing the project on time and on budget. Our electrician was Rodrigo. He worked 12 straight hours on the first day he arrived without taking a lunch to ensure we would have power restored within the same day. After leaving the house at 7pm, he returned the next day promptly at 7am to finish the job. It's extremely rare that you find this caliber of service and work ethic in the trade industry.

Overall, the communication and work product combined resulted in an above average experience with T&D Electrical. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a professional, hard-working, and efficient electrician.

Ted is excellent, he really knows his stuff! He came with in days of providing me an online quote. He was very professional, on time, and very knowledgeable. Reasonable prices and even did a few extra things that I had not mentioned in original quote request. I highly recommend Ted!!!

Chris was AMAZING! He was super reliable and took such great care in my forever home. He has come back twice and each time he has exceeded my expectations and I've already given his info to many friends who could use some electrical work. He hung 3  huge chandeliers with care and even made one work that didn't come with the parts needed from the manufacturer. He then hung an additional 6 other lights and even changed all my lightbulbs so they matched in color!

He also came back and hung two tvs for me the second visit which I can assure you will not be his last!

All around great first time experience. I called on a cold snowy night and the owner had someone (Leeroy) out to me within a couple of hours. Leeroy was great, and fixed my issue with my outdoor GFCI outlet almost instantly. So thankful to have a great electrician in my phonebook now!

Thorough Professional.

We came to Ryan with a maddening intermittent problem: electricity in parts of a house would turn itself off and then turn itself back on, some highly variable amount of time later.  Some times, hours later.  With this happening more than once a day, the house was basically unlivable.

Ryan was able to quickly track down the problem and, even though it was close to the end of a normal business day, he worked well past that to procure the replacement part and install it that same day.

It's been a week with no further incident, so I'm convinced he found the root cause, and I'm as happy as I can be.

Everyone at Highlights is amazing. The staff answering the phone is nice, professional and efficient. The guys that came out to fix our electrical problem with the A/C unit were also extremely nice and professional. They made two trips to Home Depot to get the right materials during their visit here. It was obvious that doing the job right was important to them.

Communication is probably their strong suit, which can be hard to find with contractors. I highly recommend!

Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

These guys are great! They were referred to us and they are great for all kinds of jobs. We originally used them for various electrical work such as changing and updating electrical boxes, to light fixtures, to moving, replacing and rerouting outlets and switches. We were looking to knock out a wall in our kitchen and we had called them for the electrical part of it and turns out they were able to do the carpentry work as well!!  We had them come and see the space and they were very respectful of our belongings. Covered everything super nicely and helped us move some of the things they were afraid could possibly get damaged. Very trust worthy, we left them alone in our home for 90% of the project, and they cleaned up after every time they came. They did a nice job painting the living room as well and all for a great price!! I would definitely recommend them!!

Highly recommend Jake and his team for electrical projects large and small. Early on during COVID he installed a new outlet so we could relocate a desk and while there provided some options for adding light to our dimly lit basement. We finally contacted him for the basement work and he responded right away and was able to come within a few days. The basement looks fantastic and Jake went out of his way making multiple trips to stores looking for hard to find parts. Fair prices and high quality work!

I came home to find the power out in several rooms in my house.  I flipped circuit breakers and the power main to no avail.   I have been looking for electrician for awhile but this time it was urgent.  I searched online and found Blacklite Electric.  The reviews were good so I called and left a quick voicemail.  

I was pleasantly surprised when I immediately received a text from the owner, Neville White, indicating a combination of voice and text was most expeditious way of interacting.  I sent a text describing my situation and Neville responded within 6 minutes.  We very efficiently exchanged a couple texts where he had a good sense of what the issue was and he allayed my fear of fire/danger.  His colleague, Johnny, was at my house the first day and time I was free.  This was all VERY efficient and convenient.

I received an appointment reminder the day prior (MUCH appreciated) and Johnny showed up on time and he was knowledgeable of the issue I was having.  He quickly diagnosed the situation which required 2 electricians to pull new wire.

Neville and I spoke and confirmed a day and time for them to come.  I received a text message reminder the day before which I again appreciated.  Johnny and Neville showed up on-time, were very efficient in their work, fixed the issue and importantly (!) told me what I didn't need to have done.  How rare is that?  They also wore clean shoe covers to protect my white carpets and cleaned up throughly.

Blacklite Electric is efficient, knowledgeable, and professional and I highly recommend them!

I set up an appointment to have someone come out and look at a crackling noise in a light switch. I then googled the symptoms and found out that I just need to replace the switch. I called Kinetic back and canceled my appointment. They called me back 20 seconds later and gave me a helpful tip on how to install the switch.

Kinetic Energy since then has worked on my parents house and mine in Oak Park and we have both been very happy with their service and friendly personable electricians.

Tom installed a Tesla rapid charger in our garage yesterday. He did this with professionalism and expertise. I will hire him again for future electrical needs.

Alex did a great job replacing a broken switch. He responded quickly to my initial request and was fast in communicating throughout the scheduling process. We are very happy with the quality of work.
We'll likely have to have most of our old wiring replaced and are looking forward to have Alex and his team back. Seems to be a newer company, and I'm glad we took a chance on them.

Cancelled on me last minute (14 hours notice) with no explanation. I had already declined other estimates and hoped to use them for future projects and odd jobs. Save yourself the time and grief of scheduling your day to accommodate and go with someone else.
