If I could give more stars I would! Stefan and his staff were EXTREMELY helpful, kind, professional, and quick with the repairs that were needed in my building. I would highly recommend this company for any of your electrical needs!! They even missed Superbowl Sunday to help me out, now that's some great service!! ;) Thank you again AC/DC!

I have hired Sims & Sons for multiple jobs at this point, my first encounter with Darrell (who I now know is the owner) was him coming out to provide an estimate on my pending home purchase (at the time) of an over 100 year old home and bringing its electrical and plumbing up to date. Though Darrell new everything about everything and walked me through everything that was wrong, including options to resolve. At the time, I took that as him trying to oversell me, and only gave his crew a small part of what I wanted to get done, hiring other companies that turned out to be awful for most of the work.

The day after purchasing this home and 3 days before my family moved in, I needed major updates. While closing, Darrell called to see if we could postpone our work, I stated the urgency with my family moving in that coming weekend, he said let me figure it out and called back shortly to say he moved the other jobs, but needs to do all the work in one day, which I agreed to. That next day, 8 pickup trucks and vans showed up out front, with a dozen people exiting vehicles grabbing tools and supplies with Darrell out front directing the entire crew to perfection. The HVAC owner, showing up later for their HVAC install said I felt intimidated seeing them work.

After working with his crews more, Darrell knows a lot, and wants to share that knowledge, he will attend seminars on new plumbing or electrical technology to learn about water pressure or what is coming with solar power to inform his customers. This guy literally geeks out on this stuff, totally changing my perception of the industry. I took a few days off work right after buying the home and just talked with him about everything as I wanted to learn what I can. I went into buying this home wanting to do whatever work I could myself and here was a person willing to teach me while his crews took care of the work way beyond my capability.

I have led $100 million dollar, years long IT projects and was truly impressed with how well Darrell knew every component of the job, he is young, but has already done every aspect of the job, though an owner he will still get his hands dirty to ensure the work is done right. He was immediately able to deploy his crew to every aspect, respond to new issues as we opened walls and stay on time and on budget throughout. Other contractors constantly need to run back to Home Depot for parts, but Sims comes prepared, with a plan, instead of winging it like I have seen with other groups.

Every time Darrell gave me a quote for the new scope of work, my first reaction has always been holy shit. But every time I have went with other service providers to save money, in the short time I have owned the home, I have already needed others to come fix the problems they cut corners on to keep their costs down. Though the sticker shock is often big, every time I see the number of people coming for full days (often 10, 12 hours) performing the work, I will try to calculate the costs out with labor / supplies and wonder how they are making money.

I don't write reviews often, my initial thought of Sims & Sons, came from a perception that contractors will try to screw you over, but after working with their crews, I will never use anyone else.

Quick service and very neat. Reasonable price for small job and responsive. Think that their responsiveness really stands out. Often tough to get an electrician out for small jobs.

I called on a Monday and left a message for Ted, 48 hours later I have yet to get a text or a callback.

Absolutely best electrician I've ever hired! I am currently working on a kitchen/office remodel and Joe did a great job with everything. He installed can lights, outlets, switches, and so much more. At first I thought it was a small job, but then it led to a larger project. He was on time every day and was always able to squeeze me into his busy schedule. Worked fast but correctly. He really knows his stuff. I will call him again for all my future electrical needs! :-)  A++ in my book. 6 stars if I could.

Chris was AMAZING! He was super reliable and took such great care in my forever home. He has come back twice and each time he has exceeded my expectations and I've already given his info to many friends who could use some electrical work. He hung 3  huge chandeliers with care and even made one work that didn't come with the parts needed from the manufacturer. He then hung an additional 6 other lights and even changed all my lightbulbs so they matched in color!

He also came back and hung two tvs for me the second visit which I can assure you will not be his last!

Greenline was prompt and easy to work with from the start - sent over some times that would work and showed up right on time.

We were having issues with the outlets on one wall going dead and Greenline was able to diagnose the issue quickly and get it fixed. They were also able to assess a standing desk (powered) that had suddenly stopped working and helped us get in contact with the manufacturer to submit a warranty claim on the internal motor components.

Highly recommend to anyone in the Chicago area who needs an electrician.

Had some electrical troubles in our new house we needed fixed and addressed. Ryan was out at my house within an hour of calling him. Very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to not only do a thorough job but explain everything he did each step of the way. Was quite a long project as we couldn't locate the problem immediately, but after some troubleshooting and enjoyable conversation, he located the problem and solved it. I don't know anything about electrician pricing but was told from my family who knows a thing or two about the business that his pricing was great and extremely fair for the job he did the length of time it took. Would highly recommend. Safe to say I've found my electrician for any future needs I may have. Thanks again Ryan, pleasure getting to know you.

Smoke alarm chirping, battery changed, no luck. My regular electrician was too busy to take the job and recommended Highlights.  I am beyond satisfied.  They responded to me immediately, had someone at the house in a little over an hour.  After assessing the situation, found out that the smoke alarm unit-which is hard wired with battery back up, was no longer functional, replaced it and they were on their way,
Peace at last, no more chirping.  
They did a great job, fast, efficient, neat, and reasonably priced.  Will definitely call them for future jobs.

Rogelio did a great job moving an outlet inside our kitchen island.

Rodney and Jose are a great team. The removed a light fixture from a closet header, completed the demo of closet header and moved a slight switch. And then patched the drywall and prepped for paint. So great this duo can complete both the electrical and the drywall repair. Wrapped in one day.

Had an awesome experience with Jake. I got into some trouble trying to swap out a light fixture and created a bit of a wiring mess for myself that he was able to skillfully clean up. He was able to go pop out and buy a replacement light fixture that would fit my junction box and install that too. While he was at my house he added a plug to a closet that we had been wanting installed since we moved in. Super efficient work, very pleasant interactions, reasonable pricing- I will definitely be calling Jake up again for future work.

Neville was awesome! Easy to communicate with via text, and fixed our light fixture quickly. Definitely would use Blacklite again.

Best around. Ted is super helpful and Carlos did a great job on my project. Very helpful, explained everything and overall I couldn't be happier. Will definitely use in the future and highly recommended.

Tom and his crew do such great work! Highly recommend them. They installed 4 outdoor outlets in our yard and also trenched wires underground so they were no longer exposed to the elements. They were on time, flexible, and just care about doing the job right. Tom is a really nice guy who walks you through all the work ahead of time. Don't hesitate to reach out to him!

Alex responded to my posting quickly, was clear on costs, and came out at 8am the following day as promised. I gave wrong information on parts and he was ready with solutions to salvage the job and gave great advice. Would definitely hire again.

Great Handyman experience today with Joe.    As with any service, it's always going to come down to the person or crew that shows up to do the job.  In this case-  Excellent!
