My water heater blew Monday morning. My insurance agent recommended Darrin at Purtec as she said he wouldn't charge me for more than I needed as so many other water restoration companies do. Darrin was out within the hour and complemented me on getting the water turned off as soon as I did-he contained the area in plastic and ran fans-his men came out the next day to check and said it needed another day. They came out this morning and tested and everything was completely dry. They took away all the plastic and fans and cleaned up after themselves beautifully! I couldn't be happier with Darrin and his crew!

Ultimately, unimpressed. They get more than one star for how it started, but less than 5 for how it ended. We had water damage in our kitchen and the insurance company stripped it down. We contacted this company on a referral, and at first they were very responsive. Since we were rebuilding anyway, we told them that we wanted to get a new cabinetry configuration, and they promptly provided a brochure for new cabinetry. Once the insurance funds came through, we contacted them and asked about specifics, to ensure we knew what we were getting. While they provided some of the information requested (like ROC#), the best way I can describe the response is a civil huffy. They concluded with something to the effect of since you're changing the configuration, we can't do the work. If this were the case, why didn't they say that upfront instead of wasting our time? I didn't really believe this was the reason, given that they gave us the brochure up front. Instead, I have a sneaking suspicion the change of heart was because we asked about things like ROC# and bonding. In the long run, I guess they did us a favor. We went with a different company, are thoroughly satisfied, and I've rated that company well better.

The first crew to come out was one man subcontracted to hang the drywall. As you can see in n the photos, large oblong cuts were made for plugs, the shut-off valve for the water supply for the fridge was covered, broken drywall, torn drywall and drywall kicked into place. Jennifer and Michelle came out after I took the key out of their lockbox and complained about the work. I was told I would be happy and they would get a new crew in. The second crew did all the mudding on Tuesday broken drywall, sealed my Ethernet connection in the wall destroyed my vanity light and the list goes on. Oh they also unplugged my drop in freezer and all the food spoiled. When contacted about this, I got radio silence. The next response I got was when I emailed in question to whether permits had ever been filed and asking g for them to stop work until I knew if they had permits. Jennifer responded threatening that if I went to get permits I would have to bring the entire house up to new electrical standards, and tear out the walls. That's fine there are more waves in my walls than in the Atlantic ocean anyway. If you want your home to look like a mirror funhouse go with these guys. Being told how I should feel better and being dismissed for my concerns and doing fast sloppy work is just sub par business ethics. Threatening a homeowner with even more of a financial loss because you cut corners and didn't apply for work permits is unethical.

We had water damage in our home, called SERVPRO & they responded quickly, moved furniture/appliances, removed the water, set up fans to dry. They came back twice a day to check progress. Employees were efficient, very respectful & went above & beyond. We highly recommend this company!

This company is god awful Steven told us he would take care of everything including the work done at the house only for him to send 8 different people in a week to do his job and they started demolishing the kitchen where our water damage was before insurance denied the claim so now we have to pay thousands out of pocket for that and an additional thousand for a small asbestos test that was done. Also Steven stopped responding to my phone calls and texts after insurances denied the claim but still has his representatives calling trying to charge me what they're owed fuck this company

I feel the office staff was really willing to help with my complaints. Unfortunately I don't feel the actual roofers take much pride in their work. After showing pictures to the office of a couple issues I had with the work, they sent someone out to fix those issues immediately and made sure that I was satisfied. I would have given the company five stars had I not had to watch over the roofers work and contact the company to come out and fix lazy workmanship.

We had a fantastic experience with Stratton Restoration. I would recommend them to anyone. When our house flooded one night, we called them the next morning and they got the process started quickly and easily. I was expecting a hassle, but Jake was on the phone with the insurance company within the hour. Next thing I knew I got a call from Wes who did all the project management. On top of that, my wife and I weren't the easiest people to work for.
We probably changed our minds 5 times about the restoration project, but they were really professional and helpful. Gabriel did the on site QC and made sure the job was done right. My wife and I were impressed all around.
I've heard a lot of horror stories, but these guys were the furthest thing from that. If this ever happens again, I know who to call.

AVOID!
In fairness to the restoration side (we dealt with Garrett who was exemplary as was the work his team did), it's the mitigation side of Drystar which we have the issues with.
Overcharging. You get charged $153.39 for them to answer the phone. Item #1 on their invoice Emergency business call - during business hours. Yup, wasn't after hours.....
Debris hauling - by their own invoice they removed 48' of 3 baseboard and 1 sq ft of drywall - hauling/dump fees $117.85
Monitoring - Ha, whatever! We have a log sheet from one of Drystar's workers showing 3 days of monitoring. We know for a fact he never came on the middle day at all.
Customer service - oh yeah, there wasn't any. We complained to Robert Simonon about the issues we had. He wasn't interested in them. All he wanted was to get Drystar paid. Now I have no issue paying a fair price, just these weren't fair.
I brought up the fact that the tech said he'd been there monitoring when he clearly wasn't. Robert's reply, I am not sure if there is some confusion or miscommunication here. But I spoke with Alfonso and he stated he recalled doing the check ups so I am not sure to be honest. Miscommunication? How about outright lie? I'm not sure... Do they even care?
Robert's reply to our inquiry about the exorbitant hauling charge (they could have thrown it in OUR garbage bin there was so little!), We have to dispose of damaged materials and when there is demo we bill for a Haul Debris charge. In other words, here's a flat fee and we'll add it even if it bears no resemblance to the actual work done.
Machines - This seems to be a great area for adding a little extra. Per their own invoice, there's a big disparity between the 3 rooms, one which had little damage, yet was almost the most expensive to fix. We follow all IICRC Guidelines and it has been approved per the adjuster. How would we know if those guidelines were followed? Given all the other items, that quote must be suspect. And we cannot see those guidelines as the document containing them is a paid download. And, no, it wasn't approved by the adjuster for the size of equipment - perhaps the number.
We would NEVER use Drystar again. Having been over 15 years in the construction industry, contractors in the industry already have a less than stellar reputation - Drystar (mitigation side) did nothing to improve that. It's sad to say this as Garrett and his team did a great job of working with us, and doing right by us. The rest......

Posting for a friend who doesn't have social media (I personally haven't done any business with Silver City). It's been a nightmare dealing with Silver City. They were assigned by USAA to restore his house after the July monsoon flooding. SC came out early in August and tested ceiling for asbestos, and even removed the popcorn ceiling, exposing the interior roof. About a month later, they came back to test the flooring for asbestos (why couldn't SC test the floor and ceiling at the same time?) and removed some of the damaged carpet. It's now October, and my friend called and left several messages and never heard back, so he drove to visit SC's office personally to complain about about why there's no communication from them. My friend was told SC will reassign his case to a different project mgr. Finally around Thanksgiving, my friend gets a call giving him a move out date to a nearby hotel so SC could work on his house, and was told the repairs would be done around the first week of January. SC packed up his house and moved the rest of his personal possessions into a huge storage unit located on his driveway, removed the old carpet, scraped and removed the asbestos laden popcorn ceiling off and covered the exposed area with plastic, and put plastic around his big screen tv and refrigerator, and removed the oven and dishwasher and moved it into his garage, as well as took out his toilets.
In December, my friend is spending the holidays staying at a nearby hotel. But no work is being performed on his house. Maybe because it's the holidays, SC decided to take the holidays off. Shortly after the new year, SC finally calls my friend after not communicating with him since he moved to the hotel, to tell him he'll call him in a few days w/ an update. A few days goes by but SC never called him back. Just last Thursday the adjustor from USAA called my friend to ask his permission to fire SC because apparently USAA tried to reach out to SC several times also and left several messages, and SC didn't return USAA's calls either. So USAA said they're done dealing with SC and assigned a new restoration company to fix his house. And now my friend has to start the wait all over again. The USAA adjustor is well aware that my friend has been living in a hotel since Thanksgiving weekend and couldn't be more apologetic for all the delays and no communication and (almost) no work done by SC. I just hope SC doesn't keep my friends possessions they put in the storage unit hostage.
Read the Yelp reviews here. I notice many positive reviews are at least a couple years ago, so the quality of their customer service has declined during the pandemic. Sure, there are supply chain issues now, however SC's problem is their lack of communication to the customer AND TO USAA. Why USAA still continues to assign SC to their members in spite of the negative reviews here is beyond me. If your insurance company assigns Silver City to be your restoration company, you may want to pass and either ask for a different company, or if you do your research, you may find another company that has better reviews and doesn't blow off their customers. USAA originally trusted SC to repair my friend's house, and then fired them. That should tell you something about the integrity of SC.

Called the company to get a quote/estimated for the recent storm damage in our property. Ramon and Jeremy are two very nice and knowledgeable gentlemen who seem very committed. They even came back days after to pour water over the roof of the house to pin point where the leak was coming from in which they absolutely did. Now came estimate proposal to my insurance, they did not follow through. Ramon said that it will be there but it's three weeks later, no proposal. They don't even answer my calls and texts. I am now dealing with another company.

I had the folks from CMS come out to clean my travertine floor. What a great job. I never knew how beautiful my tile could look. They were fast and efficient and very polite. I am having them come back to seal my pavers next week. Very reasonable prices.
