Best Gas Water Heater Installation in Chicago IL
I called Mac at 5:45AM when my hot water heater started leaking. He answered immediately, made a recommendation on what size tank to replace mine with, and an upfront price. Within 3 hours Mac was at my house, took the old hot water heater away and installed the new one. No hidden fees, quick work, and an excellent guy to work with. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with a hot water emergency.

This is not meant to be a bad or good review but a neutral review so readers can decide and do their due diligence for estimates. . I contacted Rescue plumbing because my building needed a licensed plumber to change 10 shut off valves in our 18-year-old building. I figure if 2-3 needed changing then might as well do all of them since all were wearing out. They sent 2 pleasant and professional guys to give an estimate and were on time. The team leader told me they usually charge $425 per valve but since I need 10 done they will give me reduced price of $275 a valve totaling $2750, materials included. I told him that's too much and he said other plumbers will charge the same price, which I knew was not the case.
Usually I would not leave such a review but they didn't know that I know about construction prices. My unlicensed plumber changed the toilet valve about 4 years ago for only $50 and it took him 10 minutes. I then asked the building for a referral, which I should have done in the first place, and got a licensed plumber, who charges by the hour, to change all 10 valves for $600 parts included and easily finished in less than 2 hours. The kicker is that the management told me of another plumber who charged twice as much as Rescue plumbing which we laughed at.
I'm sure Rescue plumbing does good work from their good reviews and I wish I could afford to pay their price but I can't. If they can get customers to do so then more power to them! I would recommend customers to hire a licensed plumber who charges by the hour. The going rate is $150-$250 depending on the company.

Our toilet flooded in the middle of the night on a Sunday. I didn't want to risk serious water damage, so I did a quick search & found fast response from Discount Plumbing. I requested a quote on yelp and they responded within minutes & they said a technician can come out & gives me a FREE quote with no obligation. They arrived in minutes and my toilet soon was able to flushing like it was brand new! I appreciate them walking in with booties and walking me through the whole process & answering my questions. Definitely took the customer service to another level with that. Plus, the 10% coupon helped..

There is a reason this guy doesn't have a review of less than 5 stars. He's good. And dependable. Scott came out on a Monday after I messaged him late on Saturday. He saved us $3-4k. We found our new go to plumber.

I have mixed feelings about writing this review because I am shocked at how expensive some of these service people are. I realize these companies are in business to make a profit so I do not fault their efforts to generate business but I have to wonder about their approach. I do not need a salesman trying to sell me something or giving me an overpriced estimate without even knowing what the problem is.
I called Rocket after finding them on Yelp and explained to the dispatcher that my 8 year old Whirlpool water heater stopped working. I explained to this person what I knew about the problem. I had done some research on the web before I called them. It was Friday and he said they could have a man out Monday morning.
Monday morning Anthony showed up with a helper and upon looking at my water heater, he tells me they do not service Whirlpool. What? I told them what I had when I called them three days earlier so now I am wondering why they even bothered to show up? He said he would be glad to give me an estimate on a new unit for $1525 installed or if I got the part to fix the one I had they would install it for about $300.
Anthony left and now I am completely frustrated and shocked at how I am going to deal with this situation. I called Whirlpool to get a manual and some technical help and they gave me the names of 3 other places that would deal with my problem. I looked each of these 3 places up and the reviews said the same about all 3 places. Very expensive! Unfortunately I am retired and not rich and need to be practical.
After a few hours I decided to do a search for a local plumber and found a very nice guy in Evanston. He came out within the hour and sat down on the ground in my basement next to the water heater and eventually fixed the problem in about an hour. He had a lot of knowledge of how water heaters worked. Total cost $50. He discussed future problems I might have and I ordered the part he suggested from Whirlpool for a $30 shipping fee in the event that the unit goes out again. Whirlpool has a 12 year warranty on parts so you have to get someone to install it or DIY. I would hire this guy back without question. Update: Unfortunately his repair only lasted 2 days and I had to spend $1000 to replace the unit)
Follow up. The owner of Rocket called me and apologized for the misunderstanding. He will speak to his staff about how to change a few things about the way they approach customers and being upfront on what brands they work on. I think they mean well but I guess this was an unusual situation and they do seem like very nice people.

We had a small leak under our kitchen sink when returning from a trip over the holidays and they were immediately responsive and came out the same day! They addressed our leak and even helped by fixing a loose faucet handles as well. The team is responsible and extremely helpful! I would recommend.

I've never met a store that has told me to not go with them.
We had some pooled water in our crawlspace, I tried to fix it...you know the rest. After breaking a lot of things, I called Green Tech. It was on a Saturday. They were on the phone and troubleshot what was going on. He basically said: 'You don't need us. Go to your hardware store and do the following...' After I told him that I broke a lot of things, they sent someone out on a Saturday and in 15 minutes fixed our problem. Saved us a lot of headache and possible house damage. Honest, upfront, intelligent group that will take care of any issues you need. If I have any future issues, I'll be going with them for sure.

Mike and his team did an amazing job cleaning up a backed up drainage in the shortest time possible. They are highly skilled, professional, punctual, efficient, reliable, courteous, and a true gem among their peers. The drain was clogged by lots of grease, and the water was backing up onto the basement floor. Unlike others who may not know plumbing well, Mike pinpoint the issue with just a photo. He was very prompt to reply to questions and came within an hour. They made sure the line was entirely cleared and provided solid warranty for the work. The quote was very reasonable for such high quality work. I am completely satisfied, and the basement smells all fresh now. I highly recommend their services and will definitely contact them again for future needs.

Messaged on yelp, called next morning and they came out within 8 hours. Easy to contact and helpful to problem solve with. Highly recommended. Thanks for your help!
Updated 12/30 - once again these guys came through. Called and they came out same day. Joe and William were phenomenal and found the problem fast, but took there time to talk through the solution and fix the issue. Very nice and courteous to our home. Really appreciate their help and service.

I needed a plumber at short notice. I did Yelp reviews and I found ABV. We worked out a time for us to meet. Chris was prompt and met me at the front door. He put on booties to keep the floor clean and started looking. He found the problem quickly, went out for a part, was back soon. He finished up installation (including being nice about a propane torch smell) and cleaned up well. Price was good. We're going to start using him more for our work at home.

I had been calling a number of plumbers for an emergency repair, and Apex was the only one that even picked up the phone - even at places that advertised 24-hour service. I had a leak from a first-floor unit into the basement. Aidan came out in about 30 minutes and was able to find the problem in a galvanized, 90-year-old riser and replace it in about four hours. Because I had been calling plumbers since the night before, I was truly impressed with the service. Low key, nice, professional, everything you want in a plumber.

Fantastic service! Great communication, knowledgeable and quick to sort out issues.
Called them on Saturday (3/22_ for an estimate on how to sort out leaks under my kitchen sink. Jan asked me for pictures, determined the problem (corrosion) and gave me an estimate pretty much in a matter of two hours. I made the appointment for this morning (Tuesday 3/25) and they came on time. Jan explained the problem to me and estimated the total job duration to be about two hours. He and George were fast, thorough and very tolerating of my kitty, Harry, who supervised them closely from the dining room table.
Highly recommended! Call them, you won't be disappointed!

I arrived home to my gas water heater making noise. Victor responded well and replaced it the same day. If you're looking for someone honest, reliable and responsive, Victor is your guy for the job.

Erick and Manny came out to replace two outdoor faucets, add one new outdoor faucet, and rod our bathroom sink and bathtub. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. The price was reasonable, and they will be the first people I call the next time we need plumbing work on our house or rental units. They do great work.

During the winter we discovered a broken pipe in our basement. We called around and had plumbers come by and give us their estimates until we happened upon All Rooter. All Rooter is local, a plus for us because we like to shop/do business in our neighborhood. Bert came by, assessed the job, gave us a fair price and took care of the problem in a day and a half. Our plumbing problem required having to break cement and replace old broken pipes. Bert went through the trouble of solving the problem in such a way that our finished basement was never touched. Bert was patient, explained what he was doing, thorough but fast and clean. Believe the reviews people! Bert is the man!

Brandon and Joe were life savers and amazing people to do business with at Kevin Szabo Jr Plumbing. They were on time, professional, and very knowledgeable. I am usually weary of hiring plumbers, but this business is extremely honest and more than fair with there pricing I finally got rid of the drum trap attached to my bathtub that would produce standing water and caused very slow drain thanks to this business. I will definitley do business with Kevin Szabo Jr plumbing. I also have to say that Brandon and Joe are great assets to the company. Thank you so much!
