Best Heater Repair in Austin TX
Called Brad B this morning because the water pressure in my kitchen faucet suddenly decreased and I needed to get it checked. Within 10 minutes Brad called me and asked if the aerator was blocked. He told me how to check it and I was able to fix the problem myself while he instructed me by phone. He could have come to my house and charged for the service, but he didn't. I just added him to my contacts in my phone for any future plumbing needs. That's service!!!

Proven plumbing replaced a bathtub, shower valve, and toilet for us and they were fantastic. They quickly arranged to come out and give a quote (and they showed up)! The quote was very reasonable compared to some of the outrageous quotes we were getting. They weren't the cheapest, but were knowledgeable and seemed reliable, so we went with them. The work required some rework of the pipes under the tub once they got it out and the 2 guys were quick to run to Home Depot and rework what they needed to. The job took longer and an extra trip to HD, but they didn't charge more and the guys communicated exactly what they were doing and showed us. They quoted and were okay coming out twice as the fixtures and toilet can't be installed until tile is done. Very happy we hired Proven and will definitely contact them for future work.

Great service. Our dishwasher was constantly backing up and Gilbert came all the way over and helped troubleshoot. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew the issue right away. He has earned my future business and is the one I plan to call for any future plumbing needs ;-)

Excellent service. This is as good as it gets. Emilio from Rooter Man, swung by Home Depot to pick up the water heater, pan, and water expansion tank; except I told him to go to the wrong Home Depot; so he had to deal with that and then travelled to another Home Depot and get the parts; Home Depot doesn't allow you to change the pick up location. After travelling around he installed the water heater and delivered top notch professional service. The installation was reasonably priced and of high quality work.

Did they fix the problem? Yes. Was I taken advantage of? Probably.
I was charged $890 to pull a toilet and run an auger down it and clear tree roots out of the main sewage line. The entire operation took 1.5 hours including a trip to the store. The only parts used was a wax seal and tube of caulk which is $15.
Even if they are charging me for drive time, let's say 2.5 hours of total time, and let's say they marked up the wax ring and caulk to $90, we're still talking well over $300 an hour for a one man crew.
That's not reasonable. This wasn't a weekend or after hours appointment.
But I was stuck with a house with a blocked main sewage line and I couldn't tell my tenant to just deal with no toilets or showers for another day while I found someone cheaper.
It was a bad experience.
In their defense, they did show up in the promised window, they did satisfactorily resolve the issue, and the office staff was friendly on the phone. But no one likes being over charged.

Emilio was great, super nice guy. The gas control valve on my water heater went out, and called for a quote. Emilio came by the next morning and got my water heater up and running in an hour. Would definitely call them again for any of my plumbing needs.

My husband contacted A & T Service Plumbing this morning regarding replacement of our 12 year old garbage disposal. We were told they could come today sometime between noon and 5 pm. Chris called to ask for information on the disposal and if he could come earlier than noon. He arrived shortly after 11 and completed the job before noon. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend A & T Service for your home plumbing needs.

If you're like me and had some water coming up in your tub / shower drains, look no further than Abel to Plumb!
I called 7+ plumbers looking for same day or at least next day service. Most were booked a week out but I needed service ASAP! I called Abel to Plumb based on other Yelp reviews and was promptly greeted by Kayla on the phone. She informed me that they could send someone right away and I should be expecting a call from the plumber shortly. Sure enough I received a call from Alex asking what time WE would like him to arrive, talk about a pleasant surprise. Even the plumbers that were a week out were giving me a 3-5 hour window of when they would show up. Plus as a native Austinite I would much rather support local business given the opportunity!
Alex showed up for our same day appointment right on schedule! He quickly diagnosed the clog and remedied it like a pro! He hit a few snags along the way with a part that broke during removal and even had to make a quick run to Home Depot! He did it all with a smile on his face! The culprit was nothing out of the ordinary and he gave us a healthy overall report of our pipes!
I will use Abel to Plumb next time I need service and will most certainly recommend them to friends, family and anyone else needing a plumber!

Braulio did an amazing job with my plumbing work. He was very responsive to text, prompt, and on-time. He is an expert and very knowledgeable. He also alerted me about my water filtration system that was fully missing insulation (not done by him). I chatted with vendor to get the issue hopefully resolved.
Overall great and super friendly guy. Will work with again soon.

Came across a small water leak on the main line coming into the house...I was happy to see that Jamie lives in my neighborhood, I mean...how much more local can you get...He showed up in about 30 minutes, gave me what I thought was a very fair quote and got to work...job was wrapped up in about 4-5 hours and was please with the whole process...Looks like we have a new Plumber that I wouldnt hesitate to call for my needs.

Hands down the best and fairest plumber in Austin and surrounding area. Jim worked long and hard to repair our sewer line and was priced 20% below the next lowest competitor. He does excellent work and is always smiling. He showed up on time and finished ahead of schedule.

Strand Brothers is back. They are now named Stan's, but it's the same quality service and professionalism I've always known from Strand Brothers. Accept no imitations, especially not ones who now use the Strand family name.
Was a loyal customer of Strand for many many years. They installed and maintained units at a number of houses I lived in over several decades.
At first, Service Experts were credible, and I continued the relationship with them as the new owners. But they could not maintain the same level of service we'd enjoyed previously. Poor response, would say I needed an entire new unit when they did respond, over time I just entirely lost interest in dealing with them.
Then the upstairs unit went out yesterday. I thought it was a good time to check out Chris Stand and Stan's. Score. Called at 8am, they gave me a service time noon-3pm. They said they'd call 30 minutes before, and they didn't, but they did show up within the specified window, and I was home anyway, so no biggie on the missed call.
The service technician was professional and friendly. He diagnosed and repaired the problem (compressor) in about 10 minutes. The charge was reasonable, there was no attempt to upsell (which seems to always happen with those other guys). They have my business and my recommendation, and I'm more than happy to offset some of the negative reviews they've gotten on yelp.

One of our bathroom sinks backed up. We ran a snake down the pipe but it kept going into the roof vent path. We called Blue Dragon and they said that it sounded like we needed a drain camera and they did not have one but referred us to Plumb Doctors. I scheduled and was told that there was an $89 service call fee but it would be waived if we went ahead with service. Marc and Gabe came and after I signed for the $337 drain opening service they brought in a large power auger. They said their drain camera could not make the turns in the pipe. They tried several times to use the big snake but could not get it to go through. Marc said it looked like the pipe was collapsed or rusted shut and said we would need to tunnel under the house at a cost of $18,000. He knocked $50 off the service since they did not get the drain clear so I was charged $287 for no results. After they left we tried our little wire snake again, got it into the correct pipe and snagged the hair clog and cleared the drain. I called and asked about getting reimbursed for some of the $287 since it was obviously a wrong diagnosis. I was told I would get a call today from the operations manager but no call. I would not recommend this company.

We needed to have one of our water heaters replaced in our new home, because it didn't seem to be working too well. After contacting Thunderbird Plumbing, I got a text message from Jeff and we were able to get the whole thing scheduled. He was able to give me a quote based on pictures I had taken of the attic space and water heater. He was able to schedule it for just a few days later (he even offered to come sooner, but it didn't work for us). Right on time, Jeff and Ted showed up and quickly got to work taking out the old water heater and setting up the new one. They were very careful about my floors too, and put down plastic tarps. While they were here they even flushed out the other water tank I have, to make sure it doesn't collect too much sediment. Jeff answered every question I had, and helped clarify which upgrades were needed to get up to code - something that other companies didn't seem to want to tell me directly. I'm so happy with the work they did, and will definitely call them in the future if I need any plumbing work done around the house. Thanks!

i would give a half star if it was possible.
maybe he is good at fixing water heaters, but i had him redo the plumbing in our old house. Bath tub needed replacing as the drain hole had rusted out beyond repair, new tankless hot water heater and had all new copper underneath the house.
after a couple of months first problem we had we noticed that our tub (new) began to rust around the drain again. it looked as though the tub was dropped on the drain hole (prior to installation) causing a large portion of the ceramic coating to be chipped, thus the rust.
we called mark back and asked him what this could be from...his response was, that it was the manufacturers fault. after calling the manufacturer, they claim that the tubs are sent via conveyer belt into the truck, then delivered to the store. therefore, they would never have the opportunity to DROP a tub.
basically he installed a tub that either he dropped or the person he bought it from dropped. by this time, all of the tile around the tub had been redone and his response was, to just clean it more often. WOW, thanks for installing a damaged rusting tub.
recently, we had our pier and beam house leveled and noticed that all the copper that he installed underneath our house, was just sitting on the ground nor was it insulated. it was supposed to be tacked up to the underside of the house. paid full price, for half-priced work. Good Luck Mark
i guess i wouldnt be so angry, if he would have provided some possible solutions, but all he said was ,there is nothing i can do.

Excellent! Ben came out on short notice and corrected some leaks after a DIY install of a water heater. Price was very reasonable. I will definitely use O&M for future plumbing repairs.

I got a quote from Austin Plumbing, but found another plumber who charged a lower amount per hour, so did not hire them.

Thanks so much for helping us out, Geronimo! We hired Geronimo to replace our bathroom fixtures in two bathrooms. He arrived quickly after our Yelp conversation only to let us know that we bought the wrong fixtures for our plumbing configuration. He told us what to buy, and we agreed that he would come back two days later. Two days later, Geronimo arrived again as planned and beautifully installed our new shower and bath fixtures.
Also, we tacked on two toilet repairs, which he also tackled.
Hopefully Geronimo won't hear from us for a while, but I've got his card should we have any other plumbing needs
