I've been using Gateway Plumbing & Heating for over 10 years. In that time, I've lived in or managed 4 different properties with issues ranging from toilet repairs and replacement to hot water heater replacement. I also have Gateway do annual boiler maintenance. Over the years, all of their technicians have been professional and personable, with Sal being one of the plumbers I see often. Dave, one of the owners, personally handled oversight of a recent gas line replacement project. Stratos, new to the Gateway team, confirms appointments in advance and follows up. The office staff is also very helpful. I highly recommend Gateway Plumbing!

I dont need a plumber every day... but when I do, Guarini is the only one I would use or recommend.  These guys are great.  Today I had banging noises in my furnace, I called them, they were there before their estimate, took care of the situation, and were out in a little over an hour.  Chris was great, he explained what he was planning to do and what he thought the problem was, and sure enough, fixed it right away.  
I have only great words and recommendations for this Plumbing and heating company.... I have used them on an off for over 18 years.  They are the best you can get in Jersey City!

Just brought a water tank from. The customer services there was awesome. The manager helped me the whole way and even gave me a discount.

Robek was fantastic when we had a problem. They showed up when they said they would and took care of our clogged sink quickly and completely. They cleaned up so as not to leave a trace of anyone ever being there. Price was fair and service top notch. Highly recommended.

Paul worked on certifying the plumbing for my house in NYC when I was trying to get my 2nd fl bathroom legalized. He is a straight forward guy and honest. He explained what my different options were and what it would cost. If there was something he wasn't sure about he was honest about it.
Even though it took a long time to get the bathroom signed off on by the Dept of Blds(because of bureaucratic nonsense), Paul was always prompt with taking care of things at his end. His work is good and he was responsive to emails and phone calls which is something you don't always get. I would recommend him any day.

I had a very bad waste pipe and house drain pipe break in the basement. It was REALLY BAD! I called Fenix Pipe Repair and Mike answered the call. He came and analyzed the problem and the very next day fixed everything. He went above and beyond my expectations and gave me a very good price for the work. He used quality materials and did the job quickly! Mike is very professional, courteous, knowlegeable and considerate. He came on time. He was able to spot other smaller problems and fix them too! I can't say enough good things about him and thank you doesn't suffice for all that he has done for me and my family. He is now our official plumber! Thank you again!

Called Richie yesterday afternoon for a back drain pipe I need cleared, and he agreed to come first thing the next morning to help me out so I could have the issue taken care of before I had to go into work.  He arrived right on time, and was in and out of my place in less than 30 minutes!  Cleared up my issue, and at a much better price than the guy I found down the street in Hoboken quoted me over the phone!  I'll happily hire Richie again for any other plumbing issues I may have!

I wanted my domestic hot water heater replaced with a new one I purchased myself. There were many other plumbers who came and went. they were all terrible. They won't show up on time, treat me like an idiot with their questions and they promise to send a quote and never to be heard again or quote me something ridiculous. But Jimmy from Allstate mechanical was fantastic. He showed up on time and gave me honest answers to my questions and offered me alternative solutions that he won't even make a penny out of, and he gave me a quote right then and there which was very reasonable. Then we scheduled a time for the installation. Unfortunately, he got sick severely and he was courteous enough to call me previous day and inform me that he won't be able to make it. I waited for more than a week, he still wasn't well. Then he arranged a friend of his to come and do the install and honor the same price. He promised his friend would do the job just as good as him or even better. I am very satisfied with his friend Norm's skills too and it all got done finally. I will definitely recommend Jimmy to anyone and I will use his service in the future without a doubt. It's hard to find a honest plumbing service around here!

I had Alive Plumbing come out to fix my plumbing and they were fabulous. They are so friendly and nice and when they work they keep their area clean, which I love. They do such fantastic work that I will always call them to come and fix any plumbing problems that I have.

Unless your issue is urgent it may be a wait to get a visit from Jimmy.  He always pulls through when in need and never has to come back to take another look. One visit and your problem is fixed. Thank you!!

Made the mistake of attempting to replace my hot water heater with PSE&G who unfortunately subcontracts Guarini in my area Hackensack to do the install. They come out the day of, and found my vent piping to not be up to code. From there they offer no resolution, they just want to high tail it out of your house, I practically begged them to discuss alternatives to no avail. I called the office and they wanted $195 an hour just to discuss the venting. I ended up without hot water for 3 days before I scrapped the PSE&G idea and called a reputable plumber that did an amazing job for a fraction of what these clowns wanted. Gave 2 stars because the office people attempt to be helpful but the installers are completely useless and deserve 0 stars...

We called MD Plumbing & Heating based on the previous reviews.  When we found out we had a gas leak and NG turned off our gas, we needed to find a licensed plumber to find and repair the leak.  Mike came the next morning bright and early - on a SUNDAY.  He found several issues with our gas lines and repaired them skillfully and professionally.  As new leaks were found, he handled them the same way.  He kept us informed every step of the process.  When he was done, he managed to fix a faulty toilet valve as well!

Through this multi-day process, he was timely and never made a mess in our home.  His pricing was very fair and he's also a really nice guy.  I would recommend him in a heartbeat over any other plumber I've ever dealt with.

My house had gas leak by the gas meter and I called National Grid and they temporarily fixed the problem and gave me 5 days to get a plumber for permenant fix. I called the plumber accross my house right away on Monday morning before going to work. He came saw the problem and said he might need to get a permit, will let me know the next day. Next morning I go, he still did not call, tells me he will give me estimate Wednesday.
Wednesday, he came to check the leak one more time and told me the whole gas line needs to change and the cost would be $3000. I told him just fix the problem, don't create additional work. I told him to give me time to decide and came home and logged on internet to find other plumbers in the area.

Thank God I came across A Farr Plumbing and after reading the reviews I gave him a call. John, the owner, came two hours later to see the problem.
He said it can be fixed without changing the full gas line and told me he will call me the next morning to give his estimate . John called me next morning and said he will fix it for $650. I was happy with his price, and  we agreed for him to come at 8 in the morning Monday. He called Sunday to confirm it again and Monday morning at 7:45, he was at my door. He finished the problem in three hours and later on showed me what was done and walked me through the gas appliances to make sure that they were working.
After John left, I called National Grid for reinspection, they came and said all was fine. The other plumber was saying that he had to test 90% pressure test and that it wont hold, well John did all those tests and it is fine, but also informed me that additional problem might arise while fixing but thank god, nothing happened.

John is a professional guy, I will always call him for any plumbing problems. I also recommended him to my friends. The other plumber saw me this morning and asking me if I got a good estimate from A Farr Plumbing because he must have seen the van in my drivway, I just said much lower than yours and it is all fine nowand walked away.

I needed a new water heater after sandy and Bill came over to install it. Professional, neat work and I've never had a problem with it since, he did the job right. Some plumbers in the past have done poor work that starts to leak months later, but I've never had s problem with bill and will continue to recommend him to friends and family

Samba was amazing. I called late at night in a panic about a burst pipe, he facetimed me and walked me through the initial steps to control the water and then came in the morning to fix it.  He was very knowledgeable, very responsive and kind.  Would absolutely use him again and would recommend him to anyone!

This company seemed like they were good and very pleasent on the phone but then after coming a day later than expected the plumber lied about the time he spent at my house and totally ripped me off. I should have made them write it down when arriving and leaving but instead I stupidly trusted them. I also don't believe that they didn't go for lunch for an hour while getting the part. I will never use them again!
