Horrible drain cleaner I caution everyone to stay away from Ivar as this guy is not honest.

My contractor landlord called Richie to fix our shower drain and he was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Very friendly and haven't had problems since.

I called Richie D for an estimate on a clogged kitchen sink that Roto Rooter quoted me $800-900 to fix. Richie sent a plumber out the next business day (Ivar), and he cleared out the clog and replaced the pipes below the sink for just under $200. Granted, I bought the parts from Home Depot but still the difference in price was substantial. The next time I have a plumbing issue I will call Richie D before anyone else.

Where to start!! Ivar fixed the problem I had with the sewer lines,he is a genius,well priced and super knowledgeable in what he does,6stars!

I would strongly encourage people to consider another provider.   Ivar is quick to respond, but that is the only thing he does right.   He didn't show up on time, he rushed through the job, did not cleaning up after himself, charged me more then what I was quoted for the job.  Wait there is more...   when I ask for justification for the price increase he was condescending, and said he was late for a bowling engagement.   That is a new one for me.

The nail in the coffin, and the reason I'm writing this review.  The issue I paid him to fix came back 1 week later.  When I called him to evaluate it he did not return my call.  After calling him everyday for a week, I calling him from a different phone number and he picked up.  When I asked him why he didn't return my call, he said he was too busy to deal with coming back for my drain.   I asked him to refund my money, he laughed and hung up.

Richie has been helping me with drain clogs for years. I found him when I rented and my landlord used him. Now that I own, he's my go-to. Very reliable and thorough!

I was not able to reach them for a few days either through the website or through the phone. They did not call back either.

Richie D Drain Cleaning came by this morning to snake a drain full of roots in my yard. The water backs up into a pool when it rains.  

Ivar was so knowledgeable and reasonable. He spent a good amount of time working on the drain. The drain is still slow but runs much better than before. Unfortunately, the roots may have busted my pipes underneath the concrete so we couldn't get it perfect.

I have hired Richie for years for drain issues and have always had a great experience.  Honest, reliable, and explains matters.  He is an outstanding guy.

Ivar is a straight shooter, friendly guy, and did a great job. Kitchen sink was badly blocked, now it drains better than ever... and the price was reasonable. He also tolerated my howling beagle (who was afraid of this strange man in the kitchen and had trouble calming down) with ease and a sense of humor. Highly recommended.

Amazing amazing job by Ivar!! We found our forever plumber! Had a blockage in our main drain system and was able to fix it in 30 mins and did more than what we asked for. Knowledgeable, honest, reliable and trustworthy!

Called Richie yesterday afternoon for a back drain pipe I need cleared, and he agreed to come first thing the next morning to help me out so I could have the issue taken care of before I had to go into work.  He arrived right on time, and was in and out of my place in less than 30 minutes!  Cleared up my issue, and at a much better price than the guy I found down the street in Hoboken quoted me over the phone!  I'll happily hire Richie again for any other plumbing issues I may have!

They are professional, Ivar did quick & clean job. Bathtub was completely clogged and he fixed in 15 minutes. They gave reasonable quote, I would happily recommend it to anyone.

Wow.  These guys are fantastic.  I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to find Richie D. online and write one for him after the great work his company did for me today.  

After MANY bad experiences with plumbers, contractors, etc. in Jersey City, it was a pleasure to work with Richie D. Drain Cleaning. My whole experience with them was excellent, from beginning to end:  First of all, when I initially called them, someone immediately picked up the phone, and directed me to someone else who was actively driving around and doing jobs.  Amazingly enough, that person (a great guy named Ival) answered the phone, and he arranged to come to my house later that morning (this is great, but doesn't always mean I'll actually see anyone, since I can't tell you the number of times I've scheduled same-day appointments with people I never saw or heard from again).  Best of all, he actually showed up.  So, that was the first bit of good news.  

The second bit of good news, which is even better and much more important, is that Ival was truly excellent at his job. Upon arrival, he discovered not only that our main sewer line was clogged, but so too was the pipe to our emergency sump pump, which we rely very heavily upon during Jersey City rain storms.  Even worse, the pit the sump pump was sitting in was filled with actual feces, since our main sewer clog had caused a lot of disgusting back up.  As it happens, though, the sump pump was not what I had originally called him about, and I would have never known that it wasn't working until we had a rain emergency.  Ival was incredible.  Not only did he clear the sump pump pipe, but he did the unthinkable and painstakingly cleaned out the feces-filled pit with a wet vac, bucket, and 10-12 trips carrying a grey water-filled bucket to the toilet in our downstairs bathroom, each time thoughtfully REMOVING HIS SHOES so as to keep our house as clean as possible.  I cannot tell you how many times we have had jerks in our house who do the bare minimum and then charge an arm and a leg for nothing.  It was the opposite here.  They went above and beyond and were some of the most thoughtful and considerate people I've ever had do work in my house.  Do yourself a favor and call Richie D.!

This a fantastic plumbing and drain cleaning service.

Our waste disposer mechanism in the kitchen conked off the previous night. We found Richie - D on Yelp and called to fix an appointment. An hour later we were getting our waste disposal drain fixed. Keep in mind this was in a Saturday, but we were lucky to have received prompt service at our house.

The issue was diagnosed within no time and seemed like it was due to some blockages. The disposal drain was fixed within half and hour with a very thorough and logical explanation of the problem as well as tips for maintenance. These guys sure know their stuff.

I will definitely recommend their services to anyone who wants drain cleaning as well as minor plumbing issues.

A great find!!  What a relief to have come across Richie D. Reliable, reasonably price & professional. Called up for a kitchen sink back up in the late afternoon, spoke to Ivar and he advised he would be able to address the problem same day. There was no extra charge or emergency charge like some other national companies. My Kitchen sink was completely clogged and not draining at all.  Ivar took apart the pipe, trap and snaked the pipe until it was running through.  Cleared up the problem in under an hour.  So so reasonably priced, saved us a lot of $$$.  I found them on Yelp.  Hate the angie's list and home advisors since you have to leave your address and # and a million companies call you back and the reviews are unreliable or always good to excellent cause really who's going to leave a bad review in fear of retaliation.  I would highly recommend Richie D Drain Cleaning as I found them to be fantastic.  Checked all the boxes and reminded me of what true service used to be!!
